Taken off the formals. Wrapped up in the ‘mundu’, ‘munda’ ‘dhoti’. And in a desire to finish the post so I can follow the advice of many who show concern and care. It is early I know, but the need to get to bed is worth a try.
Formals ? Yes .. the formal launch for the mobile service where you could hear my voice is officially on today. At a short and sweet ceremony with the media at the newly opened Trident Hotel at Bandra Kurla Complex, where all the award events take place, modern almost boutique like and under the efficient management of an ex Sherwoodian. School ties never fade away.
The ‘name of the game’.. ha … no .. the name of the program is called BACHCHAN BOL, a number is being advertised, you call and you get to hear me greet you, talk to you, on daily events, thoughts … just about anything that comes to the mind. At the moment it is in Hindi and restricted to India, but shortly it shall be world wide. It is one way .. that is you get to hear me and will not be able to respond back … but OnMobile the outfit that conducts the technology will be working on getting this facility operational too. InsideIndia, a London based Company shall be the Company managing this and I hope that soon we shall be able to develop a voice blog within our FmXt … so … Happy VOGGING … as this is being touted to be described as .. !!!
And so to ‘Aman ki Asha ‘ above and the settings and the moods of poetry and the people and their reactions … and the last .. the sore point, the electronic media journalist from Zee asking me what was all about Madhushala !! Hah ! Young man, if you have not done your home work and research, if you have no interest in the event, why have you taken the trouble to come. And worse to ask a question that insults my Father’s great legacy and our literary heritage … !!
Anyway … the evening was most satisfying. I loved the ambience. That informal sit around, much like the days when my Father used to recite. People just gathered around, sat on the floor, palti maar ke, and the evening went on for hours and no one knew how time would pass. The applause and the wah wah’s and the end of each verse, the desire to repeat a line a verse, the insistence on a poem of particular interest. Much like the encore call last night after it was all over, as you can see below and then an impromtu break from the routine and some enterprising youth joining me on stage in dance, hurried off by security to restore some order.
Lovely days those, with my Father. Sharing space with the other greats of poetry and literature. Spending time just listening to them and imbibing. Will those days ever return ? Time moves on and this generation I am not certain is as interested in such activity as we were.
But I think word spreads as you indulge. Just this morning a group from Pune comes over to invite me to such an evening for the inauguration of an amphitheater in an environment friendly locale. Maharashtra and Pune in particular has always had a keen interest towards culture and the classics. Dance forms, classical singing have been an essential ingredient, almost compulsory, in most homes. And when you therefore visit any Maharashtrian home you will always find the presence of that ethos and ethic. True too for some of our Southern states .. Tamilnadu, Andhra, Karnataka and Kerala. And of course Bengal. Especially among the girls in the home. There is indeed a prevalence of some classic art form in every corner of the country. And I am amazed at the vastness of the creativity and the beauty of its presence. I must know my country better. I must travel and read and imbibe them. I must gain undisclosed knowledge. For it must take a lifetime, perhaps more, to experience and know what India is all about. Such a shame that a large portion of my life is over and I never had the time to know … know about my own people and their culture. But I will. I shall pursue, even if time is not on my side, I shall pursue !!
To those of my extended family then .. a cultured good night .. and with the love of more to come..
Amitabh Bachchan

Dearest Amitji
Hope you are feeling better now
Rest and take care of your self
With all good wishes for you.

Hi there,
First of all I just want to say how proud I am to be your fan. I pity those who don’t recognize your worth and contribution to the word consciousness. Whether it be for Polio or peace between warring countries, you are in the forefront fighting for the cause. On Koffee with Karan you said that you’d like to be remembered as a good human being, but let me tell you, you will be remembered for and as much much more! I am proud to be your fan and will be so forever!
And of course, I want to share the group that I started called “HELP MEHVEEN MEET AMITABH”, which about 253 people have joined urging you to meet me!! I figured that I have loved you for 5 years out of my 20 years of existence and I need to take measures to meet you and I hope this will do the trick! I am going to post this group (hopefuly as it grows larger and larger) everyday on your blog until you somehow contact me, either via email, webcam, phone, so we can arrange to meet!
So here is the link, I hope you’ll take 2 minutes out of your busy day to look at it!

A very early post today. Have a peaceful sleep.
Please wish my wife Jahnvi a Happy Birthday for the 19th, she is 36. She is the one, you will remember from last year’s wishes, who tore down your posters from my bedroom after arriving from India in 1998, you forgave her crime and wished her last year.
Please take care and come to London quickly and bring some warmth, thanks.

Hi Amitji
Now we can also talk to you via Bachchan Bol.

Dearest Mr Bachchan
I am wrapped in a mundu of bliss tonight, swathed in shimmering layer upon layer of joy….
You send us photos glowing with crimson beauty… write us words of deeply evocative charm which bring this whole celebration of poetry so alive that we are almost echoing the wah wahs of that enthralled crowd… and THEN you reassure us that you are off to seek a blessedly, rapturously, oh so mercifully EARLIEST OF EARLY NIGHTS!
I simply couldn’t be happier!
With all my love in every possible essence and variety and flavour…
For I do not like the notion of ‘brand’… it speaks of commerce, and surely LOVE is the one element in the world that even the most omnipotent multi-national corporation cannot commandeer to market and sell. The implied promise of love is used, of course, to sell countless goods and services, through seductive advertising, but in reality, nobody can go out and purchase the real Real Thing…. genuine love.
My love is freely given… cannot be packaged or supplied on demand… but for you it is always there in utter abundance.. you only have to whistle, or Vog….
Though thank heavens this Bachchan Bol is NOT available outside India at present.. can you imagine what bills could be run up if one gave in to the constant desire to listen to your voice…
So with love, yet again, forever, Daisy
With love …
Good night and sweet dreams!

Dear AB,
It was reversal- a link http://www.bachchanbol.com brings me to this new post, as it was not expected this early.
It’s nice to learn your resolved to learn India. Perhaps it’s little late but on other hand it could be a lesson/hint for Abhi & Aish to start that exercise right away. Matter of fact Abhi seems to have started that by taking Bingo to different parts.
I was delighted to learn about his visit to Vadodara(Baroda) a birth place and great appreciation of city, people, food and Laxmi Vilas Palace.
“VADODARA: Abhishek Bachchan’s maiden visit to the city has left the actor mesmerised. And, he wants to come back to the state more often along with his father Amitabh Bachchan, who recently agreed to be brand ambassador for Gujarat. Junior Bachchan also shared that this state is special for him as his first film Refugee was shot in Bhuj.
Will Abhishek join his father to promote the state? “I will come here along with my father, connect to large number of people and explore various Gujarati cuisines. I have visited Ahmedabad earlier and this is my first visit to Vadodara. There are many people from this state who are working with and contributing to Indian film industry,” replied Abhishek, who was in the city to shoot a special episode for a game show
he is hosting on a television channel.
While the actor could not move around the city, he said he is awed by the grandeur and architectural beauty of Laxmi Vilas Palace. He also added that it’s one of the most beautiful palaces that he has ever come across in his life.
Asked why they had chosen Vadodara to shoot the special episode, Bachchan junior said, “We want to take this show to every nook and corner of the country. The backdrop for the episode shot in the city is simply stunning and it’s great to see that so many people have been turning up for the event. I would definitely want to come to city again.”
Apart from Laxmi Vilas Palace, the actor is all fascinated by the Gujarati food. “I did try out the Gujarati thali at a well-known restaurant here and was amazed with the variety of food served and packed in one single meal. I liked what was served on the platter. When I come back next time, I would want to explore other dishes relished by the people in state,” he said”
Here is a link to video of Laxmi Vilas Palace. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMY1jMzWuOg
Dear Amit Uncle,
You look very handsome and aristocratic in the Kerala style’dhoti’.
Reminded of my Papa who wore it when i was a child. Now he prefers to wear bermudas and has discarded his old style’mundu’.I must show him your pixs.
One thing Amit uncle u look very real in such outfits which are traditional.
Request u too have a photo session in our leading film magazines with such oufits.
It will sell like hot cakes.
Till I meet you,

I am swathed in elastic joy at having the extreme pleasure of wishing you a blissfully lovely voyage through slumberland at just 9PM! Its always a heart wrenching concern to know you are under the weather and completely work worn. Thank you for hearing our collective cries for you to rest and recuperate. When I hoped you were free from your activities I never dreamed you actually would be!
Pleased too that you corrected the munda to mundu. Your dhoti clearly caused commotion outside these cosy walls. As your post came through I was just about send captions for your giggling pleasure: ‘Big B dons air conditioned dhoti’ courtesy of the TOI and ‘Bachchan ecstatic after wearing ‘air-conditioned’ dhoti’ courtesy of Yahoo news! The air conditioning comment was a cute one and tickled the media too apparently!
I shall read your post with fervent interest at when I leave this ‘meeting’ shh..
Please rest well and rest assured time is but an illusion, that your willpower alone can defy. Your best years are yet to come and we shall be holding your handing hand every step of the way.
Goodnight my sweetest Mr Bachchan, may your dreams unlock the cultural splendour seen and unseen…
I leave you with my sincere love and the promise of more to come…

Stay away from ‘fake’ media: CBI
New Delhi, Feb. 9 –
Stay away from people who “pose as media persons”, they can trap you in a sting operation, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has told its sleuths. The investigating agency resorted to an alert message after recent leaks in the media about a fraud case allegedly involving US-based hotelier Sant Singh Chatwal. From Ottavio Quattrocchi to Chatwal, in the past one year, many skeletons have tumbled out of the CBI’s closet. According to a source in the CBI, the top officials have deliberated the move after facing the heat from the Central government after leaks in various high profile cases. A CBI officer, on the condition of anonymity, as he isn’t authorised to speak to media, said, “A strict warning has been issued regarding interactions with media people.” “Senior officials are worried that agency officers could be trapped in sting operations,” the officer added. CBI Information Officer R.K. Gaud said, “It is a routine circular wherein we have warned our officers to stay away from fake media people.” “The CBI has never shied from the media, as you have right to know all the real issues.” Sources also confirmed that the circular has been distributed to officials across all departments of the investigative agency.
cases in the media and, as a consequence, have issued orders to stop the CBI officials from interacting with the media.

Hello Amitabh Ji,
Hope you had a wonderful day.
Good wishes.
Sir,
Either you retire very late or very early.Extremes.
All states and more precisely every 100 miles,we have different culture, dialects, clothings, folk music etc. It is a great colourful country.Hundreds of years of subjugation could not change the inherited cultural and moral values. This is the only country in the world which remained culurally original.hamare ruler badal gaye hum nahi badale. I read in one of the Khushwant singh’s works that most successful foreigner ruler in India was Akbar because he changed himself to customs of this country rather than forcing this countrymen to change according to him.
We are an emotional nature which is good at art, litrature and cuisine. We need to explioit what we are good at.

The first is that, confronted by the reality of life, all the fictions of literature and art pale into insignificance… They are just dreams from which one awakens, not memories or nostalgic longings with which we might later live a second life.
The second is this: every noble soul wishes to live life to the full, to experience everything and every feeling, to know every corner of the earth and, given that this is impossible, life can only be lived to the full subjectively, only lived in its entirety once renounced.
These two truths are mutually irreducible… ”

Maharashtrians are great lovers of classical music.
Pune is nursery for budding vocalists. There are many talented young singers in Pune and they have kept the traditional classical based music alive in this part of the country.
Jyotsna Bhole, Bal Ghandarva, Lata Mangeshkar,Asha Bhosle,Sudhir Phadke are some of the vocalists who excelled in field of music.
Hi Amitji!
Just like early posts Yellow Lines are welcome too! Have missed them and am waiting eagerly for them
After seeing you draped in the cool white Kerala Mundu, now seeing you wearing this bright red Kurta just proves that you can carry off every colour and attire! Amitji please can you post some videos of Aman ki asha? I wish we could get to hear you recite some of your father’s extraordinary verses!
A cultured Goodnight to an ambassador of Indian culture!

My Dearest & most loved Mr. Bachchan,
i haven’t expected such an early post, but iam glad you did write to us early today with the thought to have and early night as well.
i enjoyed very much reading about this cultural night of ‘Aman Ki Asha’. the photos are great. as always, you look awesome and dashing, and the audience is huge and iam not surprised they were excited and thrilled while listening to your recitation of your father’s works.
iam so excited at the idea of the program Bachchan Bol and the possibility of calling a number and hearing your voice talking about many and various things. it is great that there is a possibility that by time it will be available worldwide as well…i hope it will make it to Egypt as well. i will be satisfied with your greetings and may be you few lines from Madhushala. so, why don’t you consider that too?!!
i will have to keep it short for now, for i will have to get prepared and leave in a short while to attend my cousin’s wedding party. but i will com back to you again as soon as iam back to the tranquility and solitude of my home.
i see the traditional ‘Mundu’ has caught your admiration and sounds to be providing a comfortable state. i wish you will be having a restful and peaceful night Mr. B, and an enough sleep that would be refreshing and rejuvenating to the strength of your body and mind.
with my love…and more with everyday..

#1 Keren! Wish your daughter a very Happy Birthday!
Dear Mr. Bachchan,
I red somewhere how much people like to listen to your father reading from his poems. He was almost like you about how much people adore him and like to be around him. He was a genuine adorable person !
You follow in his step and of course with more “reasons” added !!!!
I have a lot of patience to wait for something good coming from you !
I’m happy for people of India they have the oportunuty to listen to you and,
in fact, they deserve to be the first to get all the good from you ! They adore and support you long before us “the outsiders”!!!!!
You look very handsome in the pictures and thank you for posted .
Love , more than you have space to receive,
e.t.
At least close up of the audience who graced the occasion should have been put up on the Blog. You had mentioned in previous post that some film personalities had attended the show–”Aman KI Asha”
Appears Zee TV had deputed a simpleton as their representative to ”Aman Ki Asha”. The Channel should have at least done the home work and deputed a knowledgeable person. Shame on you Zee TV.
Dear Amitji,
Good to see an early post from you today. Interesting to read about the new mobile service and BACHCHAN BOL where we get to hear you…quite an interesting concept. Hoping that we have the VOGGING soon so we get to hear you on the blog…that will be very thrilling for all of us !!
The ‘Aman ki Asha’ photos look great…thanks for posting them for us. We get a good idea about the whole setting and you look you superb.
Have a good night in your ‘mundu’ and have a good day tomorrow
With love,

Hullo Genius,
Another post in quick succession with the pictorials….gives the real feel of the place and the event you narrated in your previous post. So, I couldn’t restrain from saying hullo to you. I have been in a dilemma. Let me explain it ……I read your post early morning regularly, but the time of response varies., due to the early hours one has to match up to. Of late, have developed a kind of strange feeling…. That one of not being able to match up with the profoundly eloquent posts….in verbose devotional form ……So, what is to be done ? After some thought, decided ,it isn’t a competition …..and everyone has a different attitude and a different expression…..but the binding force is you….and that is why we are all here, each of us with our share of subtle admiration, / bold adulation etc. etc…..till ….???? So, thanks for sharing the venue of your recitation with us. And wish you the ever best. Good night
Hi Amitji
You have achieved something that you have not done in a long time - To sleep early.
Glad that you have taken the time to give your body rest. You deserve a break Sirji

Amith ji.. Good night and sweet dreams..
Dear Lion King,
Cannot believe your fascination for the mundu now..lol..
The phones will be ringing off its hook and the lines will be jammed. There will be a few million having one sided talks and romancing the phone. Voice blog for FMXT is an exciting prospect, wish we could all video conference in too via a dedicated ABEF satellite. Imagine you in a hi tech centre (Houston), with a few hundred screens around you and you can see all of us. You should assign a number to each caller and take questions. Maybe 5 a day for a minute each. Lets hope this happens. What a revolution this would be. You would be able to see the mysterious EF from the blog.
Had a hectic day, sneaked into the National Gallery and spent a little time there, it was just not enough. Got to go again now for dinner and caught up on the blog in between. I wrote on the iconic Tendulkar earlier today -

Dear Amitji,
What a lovely surprise to see your early post and know finally you’re taking the advice of your EF regarding your health and heading for an early night. Just ecstatic at the news!
Pictures are amazing with so many people sitting enraptured just listening to your Father’s works. What a moving sight and how special you must have felt at that moment. I loved also that picture of you sitting and candles glowing in the foreground – simply beautiful!
Congratulations! on the launch of BACHCHAN BOL. How lucky for the people of India to have the privilege of hearing your voice on the phone. Amitji, aren’t you going to make films anymore? You’re going to be so busy just chatting away to the whole of India!!
This much needed rest is most essential to make you feel rejuvenated and refreshed again. Please, keep the dreams alive to pursue your heart’s desire to visit those faraway places of your homeland!
With love & prayers always,
Brenda
Congrates for the programme BACHCHAN BOL. In the interest of Fmx’t & fans.
I think you should do this kind of programs in all parts of India. In this way you can get to know people from different states, their culture and of course they ‘ll get to know your father’s poetry .Ek teer se do nishane lag jayenge sir

I hope I can get that Bachchan Bol and more importantly, I hope I can figure it out. With my technical clumsiness, I’m scared I won’t. And of course I hope I don’t have to pay for it. I also hope I can figure out the vogging which I have never heard of until now. If I can, I’m looking forward to hearing your voice which always brings me joy.
I’m so glad you posted those photographs after some comments had mentioned your red outfit. You look so amazing and I like the photo with the candelabra in the foreground. I wish I could have been there! So maybe those days will return since you’ve been invited again to a similar function.
I hope you have many, many more years to explore India and pursue the learning of its various cultural treasures.
It’s great news that you will get to bed early so you can conquer your weakness and exhaustion.
Sleep well.

I can visualise what you speak of the kavi samelans - the only ones I have attended are the ones in my living room - me on floor doodling on a piece of paper while, there is some hindi or marathi poet reciting their musings on ‘Doordarshan’! I think I have officially attended just one - that too in my school - a hasya kavi samelan in Hindi - the poet Hullad Muradabadi. That was really the first time I realised poetry can be about humor too. To me humor comes easy in behaviour not in writing. My poems (if I may dare to call them as so) are mostly my intense emotions I cannot express aloud. Anger, pain, melancholy.
But I can only imagine, how enriching the times must be, to hear your father drone those intense words. I cannot pretend to know what it means - I don’t. To be an inheritor of such legacy - incomparable!
Namaste sir…
looking awesome in the red colour dress you were wearing..
Take care…
Dear Mr. Bachchan
I am disppointed with your association with the project “Aman Ki Asha” especially since you are an inspiration for all and a global icon. 26/11 was an act of war. The government whom the people of Pakistan have voted to power is indulging in unprovoked acts of violence in India. There is proof that terrorism is state sponsored.
Who dosen’t want peace? India has always talked about peace and propogated peace and what has India got in return? The government elected by the people of Pakistan continues to push Islamic terrorists in to India to kill innocent women, children and destroy our economy by pushing in fake currency.
Currently the terrorists behind 26/11 are freely roaming in Pakistan-palnning more attacks sponsored by the state. The least India can do to respect 26/11 victims is to cut off all ties with our notorious neighbour until we reduce the probablility of another terrorist attac k by atleast 10%.
In my humble opinion, it is extremely insensitive and disrespectful to 26/11 victims to have any relationship with Pakistan until justice is done.If only you knew the pain of a person who lost his/her children to ruthless pakistani terror attack–you could have reconsidered doing the “Aman ki Asha ” and shared stage with a pakistani.
Only one person in Bollywood has stood up and openly shared his views without indulging in diplomacy–ABHIJEET. He shared his frank opinion and stood up for 26/11 vicitms. When there are so many Indian actors, singers and cricters languishing in ranks–why the hell does Indian film Industry seek artistes/sportsmen from a enemy country? The other celeb who stood up was Sachin Tendulkar-during Kargil war when he said we should not play Pakistan.
I sincerely hope you shift away from this project atleast till the time the govt takes some encouraging steps against the terrorist currently roaming freely in Pakistan.
Looking forward to your comments/response.
Best wishes and regards
Manoj Ghantasala

Hi Amitji
Now I can talk to you via Bachchan Bol.But I am from Pakistan.PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Dearest Kind Mr. Bachchan,
***I must tell you something…I haven’t been able to sleep hardly AT ALL since the lovely events of this past Sunday, DAY 657…I am exhausted, but in a most happy, delirious way…Just wanted you to know the effect you have on me…
If he shows up? You owe me, BIGtime!)
from alllll the way over THERE…
***This ‘BACHCHAN BOL’ sounds delightful! I simply canNOT wait until it becomes available to the rest of the world!!! If you need to do a ‘test market’ study, DO FLORIDA FIRST, okay??? I don’t even care how much that phone call might cost me…I would pay anything to hear your voice daily on the other end of the phone line…my USA cell # (850)399-0615…I type that number in purely in the interest of your ‘test marketing’…of course…
***What WONDERFUL photos of the ‘Aman ki Asha’ event! You look completely at ease…and SPLENDID in that fantastic red outfit! I think I prefer the one photo of you with the red lights burning in the forefront…very nice.
I can almost HEAR your voice filled with pride as you recite your Father’s beautiful poetry!
***How unfortunate that Zee saw fit to send such an ill-prepared journo to cover this memorable event. Ah well, youth…perhaps this experience will serve to teach said young man a lesson that will follow him throughout the long life he has ahead…I bet he won’t make this same mistake again…that is, if he even realizes his mistake in the first place…but if I know you, I bet he’s aware of it.
***You SHOULD accept that invitation to the opening of the amphitheatre in
Pune! That’s where KASH (Kashmira) lives! You should call ahead and stop in at her house for a visit while you’re there! I’m sure she would be happy to make you some chai and perhaps an early dinner before the event!
Her name is Kashmira Grewal, I’m sure she’s in the phone book!
(Wouldn’t you, Kash? Hmmm?
***Please don’t say things like ‘time is not on my side’…believe me, I know where you’re coming from when you say things like that…as I am right there WITH you in that regard…it just so happens that I share that same desire to absorb as much of India as I can in the time available…HEY!!! Why don’t we get together? We can experience the rich and exotic texture of India TOGETHER!!! Whaddya say??!!?? I have some money saved up, so I can GET there, at least. I’ll just quit my job and spend the next few years being a bohemian/vagabond in India…with you…now THERE’S a lovely dream…
You game? I am if YOU are!
***I leave you for now with this…picture me wrapped in the gentle soft caress of your love and affection…patiently waiting for ‘the love of more to come’…
Dear Amitji,
Great pics of “Aman ki Asha” and also excited to hear “Bachchan Bol”- though not soon enough to be here in US- but hopefully sooooooooon. cannot wait to hear your voice. I am somewhat surprised and also angry to that journalist who insulted by asking “what about madhushala ?”- idiot.
Well, hope you got to sleep early.
love and more…..
Ashesh
Enjoy………….
Dearest Amitabhji,
Thank you very much for beautiful fotos and interesting post!
It is very glad, that people with pleasure listen to poetry of your father!
It is very glad for you, that you try to learn better a life of people of India, their culture, oneself India. It is not so necessary to reproach that you just now began to be interested very strongly in it. To all the time. And for you it, probably, has come now. And I support you in it! Receive undisclosed knowledge!
Always with you.
Olya from Moscow

Dear AB
I like the informal sitting and listening to poetry or watching a classical dance or listening to classical music. I think more such informal events should be organised and conducted in schools and colleges to reach the younger generation. SPIC-MACAY is such an organisation which tries to achieve this by conducting such programs in schools and colleges by various reputed artists, but they struggle to get sponsors for their events. I was member of SPIC-MACAY when i was in college and got to attend many beautiful events.
Aman ki Asha is a good way bridging the gap with our neighbour and bring peace and harmony. If only the political parties allowed it to go on peacefully and not bring in their selfish motives in them.
love u loads

My very dearest Mr Bachchan,
Finally able to settle into both your posts and what a lovely duo they are, thank you.
Utterly delighted to read you affirm your unyielding resolve to voyage through India. I wrote of my own ardent ambition for you to create a travel documentary the other day. Do consider my daydream; surely some creative guru will present a facility to enable this kind of ‘life on the road adventure’ in a way we can travel with you as you unlock the beauty and cultural splendour of each state you grace. And when I say on the ‘road’, in actuality I mean luxury hotels of course!
India contains a wealth of artistic and cultural treasure, it would take an eternity no matter what stage one beings the endeavour to cover the sphere Mr Bachchan. Perhaps select discerningly. You do have a scrupulous eye for all things artistic, cultural or architectural, so imbibing will take you no time. Even the places of worship you make fleeting visits to abroad create an impression deep enough for you to write the details so beautifully. Otherwise, as I said, you warm to people instantly and embrace new cultures with an open heart and mind. It would be a crime not to fulfil this febrile wanderlust! In 40 years of devotion to public life I cannot imagine achieving personal aspirations have featured on your agenda. So there is no time like the present, so please do pursue.
Bachchan Bol is an innovative idea for a telephone service with a twist. Your dulcet tones have become a marketable commodity too. If I’m honest, the concept seems a little bizarre; since the public are able to hear your lovely voice on demand at YouTube and various other places, speaking on multitudinous subjects. But as ever, I hope it does incredibly well.
You father, unknowingly blessed your career by choosing Bachchan as his pen name apparently. There are so many ways to alliterate with it and create new career concepts and titles. Consider the brand Big B for a start, Bachchanalia, the link with Big Adda, Bigg Boss now Bachchan Bol and possibly many others. Indeed what a wonderful ‘prophetic insight’ he had!
And yes, voice blogging has been in the pipeline for some time, I recall mention of this before. Just imagine the increased volume of interaction this would bring and my only anxiety would be to lose the profound beauty of your written word. Otherwise, surely it’s an exciting reposition close to our most ‘beloved Big B‘.
I could continue, but am positively drifting off at my keyboard, so will return to tackle the rest tomorrow. I do hope you reap utmost benefit from this unusually early night and wake refreshed and revitalized.
Sweet dreams my very dear Mr Bachchan.
Love and love to infinity,
Jasmine

Namaskaar Amitji,

Its wonderful to see that, ‘Aman ki Asha ‘ reached its glory with you as an integral part in doing so. I have always felt that there is lots that one can learn from you but more than that you give all of us an intiative to look within us and bring out emotions which ar long withheld due to whatever reasons. Thanks a ton for doing that and it has made all the difference in our lives. Do take care of your health, Raghav is off to school and the moment he steps in the house regains its momentum… Lots of love to you from Ragahv and me.

Dear Amitabh Bachchan,
The photographs from ‘Aman ki Asha’ look like I imagined it reading your previous post with the description of the evening !
I could not imagine of course you wearing this beautiful red and it is a lovely decoration of the scene.
I love the picture with the candle like lamp and you - reciting…
This event and its atmosphere fill me with a happy feeling … I am glad it took place and the young people present there may be had their rare chance to be touched by the great heritage and treasury of poetry and thought. And even greater is the thought that poetic word of your Father was recited in the mission for peace and harmony between nations…
*
I wish that your intention to “travel and read and imbibe” more of the fascinating cultures of your beautiful country India will come to be, and you will share some of it with us… : )

Lovely post with great pictures..
Aman ki Aasha is an event which should now be taken ahead with quick moves to bring about total peace in the total region.
Soulful rendering by Zia Mohyeddin and yourself and the Kudos to the groups and the team who have well started this process.
Your introduction by Jaya spoke volumes. Both your dress code was perfect and imbibed well for the occasion.
The ones who had a very slight knowledge of Madhushala and Aman ki Asha have learnt the intrinsic value of both.
Dear Amitji, Good Afternoon. Lovely post with lovely pictures. Hope the media realises that due care and homework is needed while covering such an event. Out of place coverage is bad for the reputation of the channel. Hope next time proper homework would be done by the concerned channel.
Never realised there is a Bandra fort amongst the lovely surroundings and in vicinity of the sea. It would be a wonderful setting for an event like you mentioned here.
Dancing on stage also as you mentioned would spoil the decorum of the event. A music dance show and a poetry recitation programme have different themes. I would feel the informal sitting you mentioned was very apt for the event. Many other programmes like this can be organised for the benefit of old poetry. A kavi-sammelan would revive the old art of poetic presentation. Hope many new poets get chance to read their works. Our Abhaya Sharma from blog is another budding poet who composes poetry at the drop of a hat.
The rich collection of your father will always give you many opportunities to recite his works. Madhushala needs a very different audicience who can understand its depth.

On day 653, you write, my love floweth over….
Did it really….is it the same kind of love you feel for your son/daughter or a different kind?
Why can’t I feel that love when it is me, the unknown reader, in your mind while you write those lines?
To me creative people are blessed with special faculties…
Is it a vast, encompassing kind of a love that you feel while you write these lines or just a way of signing of…
love you sir…..
Namaste, Its a great thing that you mean a lot with each and every word you speak…which is not realized by many. But humanhood is a long way to grow and you are already on the path.So i wish you all the best to carry forward to the beautiful mission of mankind and achieve it soon. God bless you.
Dear Sir,
From where can i get “Madhushala” in your voice? I have been searching for it since so long. Please help me out.
Happy “Teddy Day” and a wonderful “Valentine Week”.
Regards,
Eisha
sir…
for years i waited and waited and waited to seek your presence, to have a glimpse of you, to be near you… may be i didnt try to hard… but then destiny had something else for me.
feb 8th. the gracious ruins of bandra fort. the most exciting event of my life. the single most sought after person in my life.
the entire evening was then like a love affair… i just couldnt keep my eyes and heart off you.. undoubtedly you made us revel in some of the most precious gems of the Harivanshrai Bacchan collection… but d kohinoor was Madhushala… how effortlessly was love, pain, beauty, sorrow, death… woven in the rich texture of the poem… and add to it the richness and spunk of your voice… and voila… it was MAGIC… and when this magic happened again… i just couldnt resist but jump on the stage and dance with you… a moment that is still lingering in my mind and still giving me goosebumps…
sir, i am honoured to have atleast shared a stage with you… though just for a moment but enough to give me a lifetime of memories.
its a love story that i am proud to show-off to each and everyone i know… my only hitch is that though these moments are etched in my heart forever… i couldnt freeze it and show it to my family…
signing off.

Good evening sir,
sir i have a question to u and i don’t know that you will answer it or not..but
if luck is working than i will definetly receive reply from you
I am a B-tech student and my question is…
Q). why the people fan those people who are popular, biggest, rich means they have name and fame and not try to create there own identity, they only try to go
behind them??????????
Dear Sir,
I’ve just made it to the computer and it will be time to pack up soon for the day. My comment is going to be a little rushed and a little short but better late than never. Thank you for putting up the photos. How I wish I wish I was there to watch you and so many other artists performing. Considering the number of Shows you have done worldwide, this little crowd must seem like a drop in the ocean.
You state you are not sure whether this generation is as interested in Poetic evenings as much as the olden days. This could be true to an extent. In olden days, life was lived at a slower pace, people had more time to rest and relax and to pursue such interests. Also, we did not have so many choices available for entertainment like we have nowadays…and all these technological gadgets…I think being in the company of a crowd and sharing experiences or listening to those of others brought real pleasure and joy…it was quality time spent together minus the commerce that exists nowadays…communities were closer. Perhaps more people have work commitments now than ever before…there could be so many factors.
I think I am getting a little carried away. But talking about all this makes me want to go to Paris to indulge in Poetry.
Perhaps you have not had the time to visit every State in India but then people have been drawn towards you from all corners of the world! The get attracted to you like bees do to honey.
I must distract myself now as it is time to go home. Please excuse any mistakes.
Lots of love,
Daksha

I saw this movie Muqandar ka sikander on october 31st 1984 it was a wednesday in sampige talkies bangalore. That was same day when indira gandhi got shot.As a young boy studying 7th standard i was wondering whether the actor in the movie will not be killed more than wondering if the primeminister survives. Then i had a chance to watch Naseeb in third class santhosh talkies bangalore.Watching movies those time were a carnival with pocket money only for 3 movies the whole year.Just wanted to share the old troupe of Amitabh,Rajnikanth,Dr Rajkumar were the pride of this country.Economically we have prospered but the values of fairness, honesty, simplicity, trust have now declined more rapidly. The spirit of our nation is broken not just in political circles but from the schools, to the autodrivers,to the family.I wish the last few energetic years left with you can be devoted to promote these causes may be rewarding for us. I wish you bring to bear all your leadership & reinvigorate the campaigns for honesty triumphs over falsehood for that was what this great land was about for 6000years.

Was this recorded and can we hear it?
hi sir,
i am big fan of urs.Its the first time that i am writing on ur blog..n i am so excited abt it.u look just awesome in the red kurta…
Dear Mr. Bachchan
I always admired you as an actor ( Earlier films till mid 80’s). Liked your natural performances then-Mili, Abhimaan, Namak Haram, Benaam, Do Anjaane, Majboor, Zanjeer, Manzil, Kabhie Kabhie, etc
As an Indian, am disappointed with your love for our enemy country and its residents. Victims of 26/11 have not yet got justice. Terrorists are openly declaring Jihad against India on the streets of Lahore. This Government elected by the Pakistanis is pushing in infiltrators and conniving with China to propogate terror.
How ever I understand your predicament-you do not want to lose out on your fan base even if it means disrespecting fellow Indians by not standing up for justice.
You stood up for Indians when you refused the doctorate. This made news and made the Australian government take notice. Why then, when it mattered most did you accept the Aman peace project. I now realize and so have many Indians that when it comes to money, fame one can get compromised.
I sincerely hope you take a poll on this on your blog and most of the Indians wil want you to quit the Aman peac e project with the terrorist country Pakistan.
I know as usual this “irrelevant” comment on the blog will not get any response. However for the sake of 26/11 vicitms , I will continue to post comments on your blog and other websites to garner support against having any assosication with Pakistan whatsoever. pLEASE LET US NOT TALK TO TERRORISTS
