Prateeksha, Mumbai February 8, 2010 Mon 11 : 48 PM
I am weak to day. Weak in thought. Weak in what I do. Weak in circumstance. Weak in memory. Weak with myself.
My weakness could be my exhaustion. An exhaustion not of time or deed. An exhaustion from excessive consumption. My Father’s work consumes me. The Times of India ‘Aman ki Asha’ initiative just got over at the Bandra Fort, where Zia Moyeddin and I recited in the spirit of togetherness and hope for peace. The Fort is actually an old relic, left unattended and has been through some innovative design changes. A small informal stage has erupted, an amphitheater like seating in front, has an air of informality. There are no comfort zones or efforts made to make it happen. People just arrive and seat themselves on the floor with folded feet and relaxed mind.
Whatever the outcome, what I believe is right is that there were this many people who were lovers of poetry. And many among them were first timers, young and oblivious to poetry and by whom. The atmosphere was built in a manner where it was certain that all could be seen out in the open at the press of a button. People had come there to have a good time and I do believe that that is a quality which signifies that the doors are open for a happy nostalgic evening.
My Father’s works at once sonorous and sad and then almost directly posing as happy with sarcasm catches the very large canvas that he covered when he wrote. There was a sense of fulfillment within me and I do hope in the minds of the film Industry that had decorated the place with their own presence.
God has been kind. Perhaps we needed to remember him time and again so as to delay departure..
The crowds were beyond the capacity. It being an outdoor amphitheater with free passes it was bound to get a little boisterous. As the recitation by Zia began the seats in the hall had all begun to be in a mood of reconciliation, and by the time I came over, the pulse in the audience was apparent. There are many that were unable to connect with the purest form of Faiz Ahmed Faiz’s urdu, now the official language of Pakistan and so were perhaps relieved when I came on with ‘Madhushala’ and Viju Shah’s orchestra, the old favorites, smiling and happy.
Wanting to connect with my Father at last, becoming a virtual necessity I volunteered for, it. It was a healthy mix of contemporary and modern times, and I do feel that every time I think of him in such circumstances, a strength comes upon me from him and one that remains dormant for a while ; until circumstances change with power.
Power will be there in many liberated causes, but it cannot just be a Mr Rai. I believe that flimsy surrogate and wasteful research will have just that in life and no mother.
I must rest now. I shall continue later in the day tomorrow.
It is with love , … a love that knows anyway about the brand ..

Dearest Amitji
What a fantastic show of Asha Aman was held today & I felt so nice to be a part of it. Infact I came right in front of you to tell that we as the fmxt love you so much & you gave me the best smile I have ever seen, although I felt that you may have not heard me properly in that noise.
I just love Madhushala & what better than you singing for us.It was because of you that I got to hear it or else wouldn’t even come to know that such kind of fantastic work exists because I was not even born at that time.
What a great, learned father you have & you have very well proved the saying”LIKE FATHER LIKE SON”.
And you just looked smashing in that Red Kurta. What else I can do is simply pray to god to keep you healthy & strong and just be with us coz We really Love You Very Much Amitji.

Dear Sir:
Thanks for sharing about your recitation of your father’s poetry. I read elsewhere in the comments someone’s assertion that his poetry should be a closely guarded secret among those who already have the skills to understand and interpret it (and thus it should not be exposed via Google.) I would like to make my plea for a different position.
It is things like what you have shared about your father’s poetry that are part of what is awakening in me a hunger to learn Hindi, in which “novice” is perhaps too exalted a term for my present state of knowledge. Formal studies in Urdu are years away, if I ever manage to get there. I hope you will keep making your father’s work accessible to the Indian public and to the broader world, through whatever means are available.
And, of course, yes, it is also your movies that have made me begin to struggle with a language spoken by no one I am related to except by ties of common humanity, half way around the globe from where I live, written in a beautiful alphabet that distinguishes many more sounds than these American ears can yet hear reliably.
May your tired condition fade quickly and be replaced with morning energy. I am in awe of the amount you seem able to accomplish in a day.
Rebecca
Hi Amitji,

Dear Amitji,
I am so happy to read that you and Shri Zia read the poetry of your Great poet Father- and people of Mumbai, who were lucky enough to listen to it- a great opportunity, I missed- being here in US. Hope to see this on internet, hopefully. Also being a bit concerned about your “exhausion”- not sure if it is physical making you feel tired mentally. Hope, your bodily rest will get you back to a normal state by tomorrow. If weakness/ exhausion persists, may get your family physician check you out. Also would you please let us know in next blog, if you are feeling better or not?
love and more….

The depth of the poetry and the endeavor for clarity of thought
to make the right connection may have caused this exhaustion
Sir..Amitabh Rai Bachchan . Two differnt orbits from different
mediums and a great synergy….
Abhishek has found success with Bingo. The first episode had record TRPs but he’s also cleared the second hurdle here by having TRPs in the follow up episode that only dipped somewhat as is always the case following a high profile debut. I expect the numbers for the third episode with SRK and Johar to climb up again. The media has been quite ecstatic about all of this. Abhishek has entered I think (and I’m repeating myself here) a very interesting phase of his career with Paa which revealed something about his judgment and management skills as a producer. Of course he also got accolades for his performance in a film where Auro quite naturally sucked up all the oxygen. Now it’s this show (an idea that I did not support as you know but that I now confess has made me a bit of an avid viewer!). But most significantly it is a stunning sequence of films that begins with Rathnam’s Raavana, runs through Gowariker’s Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se, then in some order Rohan’s Sippy’s Dum Maro Dum, the remake of the Italian Job with Abbas-Mustaan, another action-thriller in Crooked (working title), then comedy in the Dostana sequel but also Anees Bazmee’s supposed Hangover remake, more drama in Neeraj Pandey’s Special Chabbees (where he shares screen space with Naseer), the newly announced venture with Anurag Basu and last but not least what is at least for me the icing on the cake (once I leave aside Rathnam’s film) — Prabdhudeva’s masala venture which promises a great deal of action and stunts. This is remarkable volume, remarkably high profile stuff but most importantly an extremely interesting mix of the high and the low. This is precisely the balance that was needed. This is also an enormous wager on his part, one where I believe he will stun his traditional detractors.
But never being less than vigilant in these matters even at the risk of sounding forever like a grouch (!) I must admit that there’s only one small thing I would do differently here and going forward. When Abhishek decided to do films more for their commercial or box office appeal he seems to err on the side of the glitzy ‘European’ thriller or comedy. Nothing wrong with this but as opposed to doing multiple films in each genre I wonder if it might not have been better to do more along the lines of the Prabhudeva film. There is masala begging to be remade from the South. Not just of the Prabhudeva variety but all kinds. And some of these films happen to be very slick as well. I also think that for many of those Southern directors a project with Abhishek is something they would sign on to in a minute. Obviously I am very committed to the masala project and the best practitioners of this art today and for the longest time in Indian cinema have been in the South. And I think these films would do very well do IF handled by either the original directors or someone else from the South. Because truthfully no one really knows how to do masala in Bombay anymore. So there are lots of opportunities in Tamil cinema especially but to an extent in Telugu as well that can be tapped. I am not suggesting remakes only. Certainly there can be original scripts with a lot of these names.
In this sense I am quite thrilled with your Puri Jagannath project!
Shahrukh presented himself well in a length Barkha Dutt interview even if the latter was rather too fawning. This was SRK at his most authentic which is to say there were moments of sincerity, humor, incoherence, passion, self-deprecation, dissimulation, and very many feisty responses. There was honesty to many of the replies (the highlight was when he said that he too had never raised his voice for anyone so he could not expect the same from anyone else) but there was also ‘confusion’ (insisting yet again on the personal/political split when it comes to the Sena, not apologizing but also acting mystified that anyone could expect this) and showmanship (certain replies designed to evoke a certain response from the interviewer). The entire mix in any case was authentic because it represented SRK in all his aspects. And on balance it was excellent because he said a lot here that needed to be said about himself, his industry and profession, and so forth. Every interview is a performance, I’m not naive about this. But this was an effective one and given the political stakes a useful one. I continue to be amused by the fact that the media keeps painting his entire intervention in this episode as heroic and brave and what not. Barkha Dutt said it half a dozen times just in this interview. One wonders though why the media does not show the bravery that it wants other public figures to reveal. Why didn’t she in the interview call a spade a spade and really describe the Sena and Thackeray in the most blunt language? Getting back to the interview though Shahrukh was clearly most trapped when Barkha dutt kept pressing him on why he would agree to visit the Thackerays if invited given everything he’d said on the issue. And he clearly had no coherent answer on what is really the crux of the matter.
But all of this leads me to a bit of reflection on the matter. The contrast with the South is always instructive in these matters. Some years ago in one of the election cycles Rajni really went after Jayalalitha. She won anyway. Nothing happened to him. It wasn’t just because he is obviously unassailable when it comes to his fan base and so forth. Admittedly all major Southern stars (especially in TN) have massive fan clubs and this is essentially a political base that can be mobilized from time to time but even this factor I think does not get to the heart of the matter. Nor the rather simplistic and vague idea that ‘they just do things differently in the South’, an explanation judged sufficient to explain the greater rootedness of Southern industries as well as their continuing paradigm of larger than life heroes and on the other side this sort of political capital where it is impossible to imagine a star being attacked the way even a fledgling MNS found it easy to attack Bachchan. It is certainly true that were this to happen the stars in question would offer very aggressive responses but even this would be symptomatic of a larger structure as opposed to being the ‘thing itself’.
And the structure is this. Cinema in the South (again especially in TN but also elsewhere) has always been twinned with the political. Or to be more precise the ‘political’ nature of the medium has always been highlighted, the consequences of such have certainly never been avoided or evaded. The star in a Southern industry always understands himself (and there are gender issues involved here.. even if there is a mighty exception like Jayalalitha though even here the link with MGR and the ‘blessing’ she thus invokes from his ‘godhead’ and the relationship she suggests with him perhaps problematizes her own ‘victories’ in some ways) as minimally a ‘political actor’ as well. There is far more substantive involvement with politics very early on. we saw this most recent in Andhra for example with NTR Jr’s extraordinary campaigning. But also major stars when they venture into politics as a formal measure are often more than adequate to the task. This is because they have been thinking and doing politics for the course of their careers and unlike Bombay stars don’t just ‘associate’ with politicians or throw their hat into the ring just as a means of cashing in on their celebrity.
Southern politics has always (again especially so in TN) relied on the ‘movies’ as an important link to its audience but also a tool to mobilize support for politics and to create and foster constituencies. Not surprisingly the greatest number of theater per capita are found in states like TN and AP much as traveling theaters have been historically powerful political mechanisms in the South for decades.
Again all of this isn’t just about choosing a certain option. The South in doing so understands the very political nature of the medium (in some ways the most political art/entertainment form there has ever been) but also how politics is forever changed in the age of the image. This twinning or nexus has been central to politics in the region from the very beginning. Hence stars do not just operate with ‘celebrity’ capital derived only from their movies but political capital proper. To this end stars in the South, certainly major ones, are far more likely than their Bombay counterparts to be consistent in their politics when it comes to their film outings. So for example there are so many roles that you have done in recent years that run counter to your basic history and political charge. One would never see this in the South and definitely not with a star of significant stature. This does not preclude stars doing different roles or exhibiting variety in their films. It might however prevent a star from doing Khakee and K3G at the same time. Because the political worlds of each film are very different. It is not that cinema should be slave to politics but that the latter is always implicated in the former and it is always risky to forget this. It is not enough to say that one is simply playing a character in a film if one has also gained a great deal of success in one’s career precisely by tapping into what are really political issues. So in your case for instance politics is inscribed into the very heart of the Vijay signature. There is simply no getting away from this. And you have consistently played this character or developed a whole genealogy that owes something to this character in film after film. This does not make you a politician but it does render you a ‘political actor’ of sorts. If there are millions and millions of people informed by that image and history you are within the space of the political and not just in a tangential sense. I shall leave aside more formal interventions on your part, those comprise a different issue.
To be ‘public’ is to be political in a very obvious sense. One does not have the chance to choose the political on certain days and not on others when one is a public figure. Nor can one simply ‘deny’ the political. Because this creates a huge gap in the cultural field in terms of the history and in terms of audience reception. But also it leads to increasingly ‘illegible’ responses. In other words one responses have to become increasingly enigmatic and ambiguous and obscure to avoid the chance that these might be put forth in the service of one kind of politics or another. The way to avoid this danger is to be clear, not the other way round.
Lastly I saw that very intemperate response by someone on # 656. What amuses me is this. if everything that respondent believes is true how and why is he even commenting on this blog? And how did the response even get through?!
I shall repeat an earlier request. I wonder if you could quote in full the poem Geeta Kapoor was referencing on DID. If at all you can. Thanks either way.
Amit ji,
I WAS SLIGHTLY WORRIED WHEN I READ THE FIRST FEW SENTENCES. I AM GLAD YOUR EXHAUSTION IS DUE TO CONSUMPTION OF YOUR FATHER’S WORK!

Dear mister Bachchan,
all my best wishes for a refreshing night! Tomorrow should be an day with renewed energy for you…..
Yours, Magdalena!
I am so sorry that you felt weak today.. it does sadden me to know that you were so exhausted and consumed.. inshallah in the morning after a restful night .. you will feel much better.. if you don’t have time to connect in the day.. you don’t have to.. may be a few words to make us feel relieved that you are well and fine.. then we’ll be waiting for the night’s post.. we just don’t want to add any burdens on you.. you need to be relaxed.
Had watched ” The book of Eli ” few days ago.. and i was thinking about you… there is no one better than you to carry this mission.. protecting the word of god.. Denzel Washington was great.. and it was really impressive and thoughts evoking movie.. but i couldn’t stop thinking about you doing such a role.. the word of god is not in just a book kept in hands of few that control the ignorant minds and make them do things thinking that they are obeying the lord.. the word of god is inside us.. to enlighten our minds and soften our feelings and direct us to the right path.. the power of faith.. it was just superb..
I did feel so bad in the morning.. was assigned to a one-day tour to Alexandria.. and the first sight seeing was ” Kata comb “.. underground grave from the first century A.D… and i just felt i couldn’t breath.. the lack of Oxygen made me feel panic and was in a very bad condition.. trying to hide it from the group but my colleagues had noticed .. it was the first time.. the place doesn’t lack Oxygen to such a dangerous degree.. everyone else was fine.. so i guess it was just me.. weird.. i have to keep well till the end of March.. i am assigned to successive tours.. and it is critical now to cancel any of them.. because from April to September… we will be on a long vacation.. low season.. hope that i wouldn’t collapse in the middle of any tour..
Have a very good night.. pleasant.. restful night… sweetest dreams ever..
Lots of love.. that dedicated to no one but you.
Dearest Sir,
Your father is so proud of you to spread his poetry everywhere.
Love
MANOJ KUMAR OJHA, SHARJAH, U.A.E.
Nice to see you on the blog. I used to read your comments,
Aishwarya TVM, nice to see you also.
Valorie, Amitji gave you a giant gift to wish you a happy birthday. I am late to wish you a happy birthday, so I did it.
Love to all
Dearest Mr Bachchan
Yes indeed you must be exhausted after being possessed by the power of your Father’s work, and yet deeply fulfilled by sharing this mysterious and poetic magic with the fervent crowd who gathered at the historic fort.
And it leaves me weak with anticipation to imagine that this sacred love for your Father’s poetry will be summoned up again this summer… In Paris.
I send you fondest wishes for deep and peaceful sleep tonight, and surely…. I pray most desperately… some time to relax and recover tomorrow… from all the physical demands of travel and functions… and the emotional and spiritual demands of … channelling your Father’s poetic lightning, withstanding the searing heat of genius and allowing it to blaze out in your incandescent reading … perhaps the closest thing we can imagine to heaven on earth.
And to think you hope to do all this for us once more… in Paris.
With deepest love and admiration, Daisy
Dear Sir,
First, I want to thank God, because he gave us “YOU”, I want to thank your Great Parents because you are belong to them, I am thankful to you because I saw you, I hear you. (my English it is not sufficient to express my feelings towards you) but I can say that I LOVE YOU.
Sir, I always think about you and asking to you in my own mind, that how you face the life. As we saw the life in lime light, silver screen, colorful, but you know the best . how it is? How much you have to fight in your life to reach here, where you are now. Everyone love to see your present, they might not bother about your past, but I just dreaming & thinking about your struggle, your achievement, it is not come in one day. I wish I can do atleast 1% of your struggle in my life, then I know I will be there where I never thought about.
I wish A Good health & long life for you and Jaya Didi.
My Pranam & Best Regards to both of you
Shubhendu

Glad to know that many film personalities graced the occasion . Mumbai film fraternity always unites for a noble cause.
For a change the stage at the Bandra fort had not been crowded by the politicians.
Hello Mr.Bachchan!
Thanks for sharing your feelings and emotions. Recitation your Father poetry must be really incredible event. I love your Father poetry. I very regret I can’t hear You. It’s not good that You feel exhausted and weak. I worry about You. Please take care and try to rest.Your health is really important. Lots of love to You
I don’t know who Zia Moyeddin is but that is not uncommon these days when I read your blog.
I’m usually sorry to hear of your exhaustion but if it was from being with your father and his work, it is a happy exhaustion in a way.
It is good to know that such a large crowd of all ages turned out and who wouldn’t want to attend a free outdoor performance by Amitabh Bachchan and hear a reading of his great father’s poetry?
I”m not sure exactly what you mean at the end of your post but I wonder if ‘mother’ is supposed to read ‘other’.
I am on the train heading home from the airport back to civilization.
I hope you get that rest from your exhausting day and once again, without having a microphone slide across your nose, I see that you’ve signed off with a different brand of love.
Love,
Rochelle

ABji can’t alienate Bala Saheb if he wants to live in mumbai peacefully and make sure his movies don’t get the same response as SRK MNIK is getting.
those who lambaste Bala Saheb. .must live in mumbai and say front of him..
Mumbai ruled by self appointed king call Bala Saheb .. even ABji accepted it and moved on . .now my question is where faternity solidarity when some one who question right of free speech .. where is public outrage for this? not outrage about pakistani play or not . it must be about right to free speech in democratic india without fear ..
by the way i don’t like pakistani player in india just due to trouble they creating in my beloved country however i don’t like anyone tell me one way or the other what to do including ABji or Bala Saheb or SRK ..
thank you ji..
Priya Sakhaa,

Saddened to read about your weakness and exhaustion. Hope you get some rest and feel better soon.
Good to read about the ‘Aman ki Asha’ initiative and the poetry session with Zia and others. I am sure it was a beautiful memorable event for all those present and I wish you could post us a video link of this event, since I am sure lot of us EF here have gained interest in poetry because of your references to your father poetic works in this blog.
Have a good day !

DEAREST SIR AMITJI,
)
HOPE U HAD PROPER REST LAST NIGHT, MUST BE QUITE EXHAUSTING.. LAST EVENING..YES I WAS THERE TOO SIR, BUT EXHAUSTING ONLY I MEAN PHYSICALLY.. AND WHAT AN EVENING..AT THIS VERY MOMENT, MY MIND RECALLS WORDS OF ARJUN SINGH WALDD BHIM SINGH WALDD DASHRAT SINGH.. ‘ BADHIYAA.. BHAEE BOHHT BADHIYAA!! (READ, UR HARYANVI ACCENT FROM D FILM!
SIR THE POETRY, THEN WRITTEN BY AADARNIYAA BABUJI, I MUST SAY, DID NOT SEEM 60-80 YEARS OLD, AS IT HAD AS MUCH RELEVANCE & SIGNIFICANCE TODAY ITSELF TOO, OF COURSE THE UNDERSTANDING OF THE STRONG & PURE HINDI WORDS & VERSES, LEAVES A LOT MORE TO BE DESIRED BY US MUMBAITES BUT ONE MAY DARE SAY, THAT HE GOT THE GIST &THE ESSENCE OF IT.
THE THOUGHT & THE GRAVITY OF THE CONTENT - OCEAN DEEP
THE RECITAL & VOICE PROJECTION - MINDDD BLOWINGGG!
THE RESONANCE - AM SURE MR.SHAH RUKH KHAN MUST HAVE HEARD ITS EFFECT IN HIS LIVING ROOM.
THE EFFECT - STILL MESMERIZED..!
WHAT ALSO FLOORED ME WAS THAT YOU WENT ON WITHOUT A SIP OF WATER FOR MORE THAN HOUR, PLAYING WITH YOUR MODULATION, EMOTING GREATLY , TAKING YOUR VOICE PITCH TO GREAT LEVELS & YET EACH WORD.. WAS A SWEET PINCH OF A LOVER.
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR SUCH A WONDERFUL EVENING & ALL YOUR HARD WORK , PREPARATION, THOUGHTS & THOUGHTFULNESS BEHIND IT.
NOW ONE AWAITS TEEN PATTI.. MUST SAY SIR LOOKS COOL!
LOTSA LOVE & PRAYERS FOR YOUR JOYS & GREAT HEALTH.
WARM REGARDS,
BHISHAM MANSUKHANI
Dear DON,
everytime I am watching ur AMAN KI ASHA on Geo channel.superb Sir,from every side u r superb, hope u will continue this message.thanks big b.
Dearest Mr B,
Glad that the evening Asha Ki Aman went off very well & that people - young & old appreciated Madhushala. Not surprised at all to read about your exhaustion. What you are doing now is superhuman. Travelling across the country / countries, making speeches, trying to be alert, witty, give intelligent responses all asks for a tremendous inner strength which at some point would need replenishing. Hope you do manage to get a small break to recharge all your senses and for you to feel all rejuvinated!!
Looking fwd to watching Rann - maybe next week as we are going to be hit by another snowstorm tomorrow..Wish I was back in India where we don’t have such extreme weather.. atleast not in Bengaluru!!
Also very sad to hear about the lives lost of our Jawans - who were supposed to be training under extreme weather conditions. Its a true loss to our country & kudos to all the soldiers who are there “voluntarily” to serve & protect us.
Take Care Mr B..
All my love & more as always, Archana Detroit.
Dear Amitji,
At some point in life slowing down a bit has its own virtues. We want to see you in as many movies and events as possible but not at the cost of your health and well being. I am not saying take the back seat and relax, all I am saying is just slow down a bit. I am sure all the members of your immediate family also are of the same opinion.
my dear Amitabh Bachchan . ..
I am looking for an english translation of “madhushala” I went all over the net however could not find it. I am based in new york city.
Is there any way I get (buy) a copy of madhushala with english translation. I would be a great help for me.
thanks!

Hi Amitji,
Please lift yourself from the moments of weakness, otherwise we will falter. Back from your whirlwind tour of the South. Please rest. Saw you and the family on Apsara awards on Colors last night.
Slight snow shower again in London earlier on. Hate the cold. Queued for hours outside the Indian Embassy in Aldwych today. My legs are dead.
Wishes to Manishbhai, Vandana, Srinivas.
Naresh
Your drive, your zest, your passion not to linger within the comfort zone of age is amazing. I wish I were a tiny thought in your brain, flitting from one room to another there, wanting to see why you have this burning desire to keep on doing what many at your juncture in life would refrain from doing. Why is there a need, pushing beyond everything to be out there. Your giving of yourself to us. Why the need? Why the passion? Why the drive?
I know it isn’t in my place to question - but when I see you, exhausted, weak, tired - it melts my heart. On one hand I enjoy this daily chat with you, on the other hand, I cringe to think of the impact of all this must be on you. What great toll you must pay! Yet I see you here, everyday, happy, sad, exhausted, vibrant, passionate, forlorn, beligerent, but here nonetheless….
Tomorrow is another day
That awaits your vibrant touch
Tonight your bed calls to you
Grant yourself at least so much…
Wishing you peaceful rests.

Dear Sir,
I live in London, my wife and I had been to the supermarket after work today. The young lad who served us at the till who is of African origin said he loves watching Indian films and he has watched most of your films including Paa. He says everybody in Africa knows who Amitabh Bachchan is.
Its such a small world, full of Amithabh Bachchan fans.
Hope you feel better soon.
Good Night.

dear amitabh —a diamond is forever –it can never be eroded — you are brilliant and shiny —eat a good square home cooked meal –make sure to eat a handful of almonds and raisins every day –also liquid vitamin b can help exhaustion — and eat iron rich foods –eggs raisins carrots etc.—langour in a totally selfish manner Take care of #1 and everthing else wiill take care of itself. lie around on the couch -talk to agastya and navya they will refresh your mind and body —-anyways take care — jackie

Mr. Bachchan, you haven’t lived upto your stature. An icon has certain responsibilities toward nation and the society. Your callous attitude and apathy towards your own b town colleagues, your stooping low to the level to woo hoodlums like thackerays, and your indifference to the sensitivities of Muslim in Gujarat has exposed your true colour. you are nothing but a big hypocrite.
luvs tc amitabhji..
Dearest Amitji.. With returning you my precious..! Thanks you for emotions and a beautiful post my dear.. The Poetry of your Father inspires you., you inspire fans of poetry, causing the light feelings in a soul.. Blessing of God for you.. in order to you were accompanied by success in realisation of your projects., especially in such great business, as advancement of works of your Father.. With prayers and love to you, my angel.. Despite your weariness you again with us, as always, and it very much mentions… You are tired., I am very disturbed by this circumstance, my dear..

Please, now have well a rest and relax… Mentally with you always and in all.. My warm and gentle love to you and only for you.. for ever… I embrace you the my dearest friend.. Yours devoted and loving Lyudmila..
Hello Amitji,
I dont understand how to start. I am Naresh goud pursuing masters in Aerospace engineering @abroad. I am not a fan of yours. if i have to say i am not a fan of any film stars. If i like some movie i will just appreciate it. To be frank i used to hate you. The reason may be because of the unnecessary hype created by media on you. Its not both of our mistake. But still i never used to watch your movies with the excitement. But i had watched your movies now and then. I have seen recent nokia screen awards. I was very sure that you will be winning the best actor award as you were nominated(negative sense). I was surpraised even Vidya balan won the best actress award for PAA movie. Then i thought i will watch this movie when i got time. Yesterday night i started watching this at around 1 Am. Generally i cant watch a complete movie all alone with out any company. You know wat i have watched the complete movie. I didnt get sleep all the night. i was really touched with that movie. According to me ” The best scene in the movie @ when abhishek bachan calls you for the first time and the way you feels great that you know MP” amazing work man!!!
Ofcourse it could be all directors work. But you have seriously portrayed so neatly. I would like to appreciate director balki’s work. And even vidya balan, bum, abhishek did their jobs very well. specially bummm. Seriously you dragged me to aprreciate you personally with this movie(PAA). I wish you read this message. Next time I will drop a message only if i genuinely(as this time) like your work. I wish you to pull me to drop many messages. All the very best mr bachan. See you soon with some amazing movie.
Thanks for your time,
Naresh

Bye.
It must have been a glorious night at the Bandra Fort. Faiz Ahmed Faiz and H.R. Bachchan are both the kind of poets who rejuvenated the craft of poetry by their acute sensibility. Their work spurs into identifying one’s soul. It is always amazing that no matter what the issue, they both have written something that is not only relevant but revelationary (often it is also revolutionary). Something that helps us express what we really feel but are unable to articulate. Something that helps us explain what we could not understand. Something that forces us to confront what we would much rather ignore. Something that rises above our fears and speaks to our hopes.
It’s a wonderful initiative by the leading newspapers of both the countries. It takes this region into the possibility thinking mode. All religions and faiths teach the divine message of grand harmony. We have the choice. Do we join the collective consciousness for love and peace? Or do we join the collective consciousness for hate and intolerance? Do we find solutions to our challenges, or to we just sit back and continue to complain and spew forth the hate-filled energy?
Love can heal. Love can change even the most hardened hearts. Love can rule the world. Unconditional love and acceptance of all. It’s ours if we just claim it and work towards the greater good of all.
My dear AB, you must rest and unwind after such a long day. Close your eyes and go to sleep, for all the good times are yours to keep. Sweetest dreams!
Love & prayers
Dear AB
Weakness due to excessive consumption of your fahter’s work…i did not get it, how can one be weak…you should get strong and rejuvenated after reading his work. But maybe beacuse you miss him you feel that way, or i did not understand you correctly. I also did not get the last bit about Mr. Rai ?
love u loads

@33 Satyam you continue to amaze me. I have seen both SRK interviews also and give the man great blessings for a long and active life. And Mr B. memories are kept alive with expended energy and heart. Your father lives in his works. And he is proud of you.
I am happy that you experienced a sense of fulfillment, but sorry that it was purchased at such great cost…the ensuing weakness from that poetry burning through you tonight.
It seems your wick burnt so brightly that you’re guttered out in exhaustion, yet your light flickered still long enough to leave us these lines here tonight. When words fail us, it’s then we revert to cliche and adage…and so it is that I’m sure you have heard the old warning before : don’t burn your candle at both ends.
I’m sure this will be only one of many similar admonishments tonight… so I will just say I wish you sweet dreams, and sweet, sweet deep, reviving sleep.
Lullabye and goodnight,

Take a break Amith G….. take a chill pill
Your sleepy missives are always so adorable.
You really would be weak with sheer exhaustion from this relentless travelling, across the peninsula and back in a staggeringly cruel two days. Its never easy at your destination either, just a whirlwind of activity and interviews and preparations and meetings from start to finish, then, some tender soul decides to defy the odds and yellow slip his entire fmXt into unearthly hours of the night whilst uploading pictures (of his dhoti)…
An earnest reminder to fortify your weakened memory; please behold my perpetual plea Mr. Bachchan and be mindful of these aspects of ‘fatigued weakness’, that you so worryingly disregard. A few days rest, a least two months without air travel is well overdue. No matter how short the flight the artificial air and water and the geopathic stress is very damaging when undertaken too frequently.
Of course, the commune with your fathers spirit too would induce a surge of emotion and a dearth of energy. His poetry itself is like a spiritual and majestic mantra requiring a focussed meditative mind to recite or read the worthy maxims for life embedded within. But I always say that his lyrical powers already course through your veins, indeed the ‘power’ is always present, that is my point when I pester you to write professionally. So I am sure the fusion of his mastery and your enactment both electrified and enlightened the entire audience; old or new they shall ALL be lovers of poetry now.
I noticed the ‘Aman ki Asha ‘project, through advertising and celebrity endorsement, was garnering so much high profile attention, especially in light of recent news furore, so the overwhelming crowds are unsurprising. But it truly must have been a very proud moment for you to represent the nation in uniting two estranged halves of a former whole simply with the power of your fathers words as an adhesive. Quite a monumental day from where I am sitting and the ‘outcome’ is surely not your responsibility alone to bear.
I do love the idea of Bandra Fort’s simple surroundings as a venue. It compliments the ‘back to basics’ and ‘simpler times’ theme that the advertisement was promoting, if memory serves. Far more conducive to breaking barriers and building bonds than a conservative environment may be.
I will return tomorrow hopefully after viewing some footage of our dearest peace ambassador participating in this monumental night!
I am sure your weaknesses too shall abate within the recommended 10-12 hours slumbertime and perhaps switch the 6am alarm call for the gym off …and…please don’t consider writing again until the normal time. We have enough to mull over.
Meanwhile wishing you a very peaceful journey through slumberland, may the power of your fathers lyrics lull you into rest and then rejuvenation. Be proud of the work you commit to though, I am sure he would be.
Sweet dreams my dearest Mr Bachchan, and please take care of yourself, you promised.
It is love for you and compassion for your weakness, that is the brand of love I bestow today…
Jasmine

Amitji Parnam,
Your first paragraph scared me, in fact made my heart beat suddenly faster, and a sense of relief was apparent as I reached the second prose!!..
May this weakness ease with the healing love that I send via this platform my dear.. Weak it may be now, but in a rather strange way, it’s a weakness to be proud of, to stand and salute it, to hold it high and upright. And then finally a weakness that lies in the arms, for comfort and love, to be told as it’s held in warmth so tightly that:
‘I am here..Here with you my son, rest assured you do me proud as I watch over you in constant times. Whenever you call, I come with open arms to embrace you, to stand along side you as you stand tall, I sit beside you as respite and cover you… I have crestfallen when you are down..You enlighten me, when you bring in your laughter and smiles.. Your every move is my continous guard, as I gaze over you in constant times.. I am always here my son…Always..Always’…
God is extremely kind Amithji..Extremely..
I felt from your read today, that I too stood amongst those hundreds in the hall, and my pulse had most definately become over rated as your recitation having echoed my ears.. I did connect surely..I closed my eyes to absorb this stength I sensed the power.. Thank you for sharing!!!
Please do take of yourself..I can live with the ephemeral weak mind.. Not a weak body…
Thank you so much for all those Yellow lines, so many fmxt have been truly full of elation to say the least….
My lov as always with the same brand!!!!

Dearest Mr. Bachchan,
How blessed your Parents must feel to watch the way honor them so often.
You are a wonderful Son, Sir. The reciting of your beloved Father’s work must be incredibly emotionally draining for you…for several reasons…you are always one to be completely prepared, studying the words, thinking how best to express them, worrying about everything being exactly perfect out of respect to your Father and his life’s work. In addition to all that, the simple fact that you are re-visiting so many memories found there in his poetry that no one can even know about except for you, his Son…that must be mentally taxing for you.
You exhaust yourself for Him and His memory out of love and devotion…so it’s a sweet exhaustion for you, I hope. Such exhaustion should allow you to sleep soundly tonight…I pray that you are enjoying a rejuvinating, deep sleep as I type this…a sleep that is filled with wonderful, magical dreams.
I look forward to connecting with you tomorrow…and the next day…
and every day after that…your sweet love has been branded on my heart and therefore, I will remain yours, forever…
Thanks again, my dearest Mr. Bachchan, for everything…
This past weekend was amazing…
Dear Lion King,
Nice to hear about the younger generation taking an interest in poetry. I had an eventful day in London today, it is extremely cold and there was a bit of snow. Not sure if you read about my thoughts on Rann yesterday, but here it is -
Rann, could not have come at a better time. It has come at a time when the quality of news has reached an all time nadir. The movie covers the fallacies of the media moguls and the empires that they operate within. It has touched a nerve on the sensitivities of the last link in the chain of news transmission, namely us the viewers. The media empires are conceptualized to be ruthless when it comes to dissemination of information. They are shown to play havoc with the minds of the gullible audience where news feed is falsified and exaggerated all for the sake of TRPs. I imagine Rann is not far off the mark in trying to showcase the happenings of what goes on behind the scenes of the news channels where sensationalism is deemed appropriate and remains the biggest content.
Rann goes a step further in undressing the naked truth of how difficult it is for news channels not to take the easy road or the righteous path if they have to be one up in the frenzied TRP game. The necessity to be so, stems from the rabid competition and bottom line profit figures. Besides, Rann also unveils the political clout that shrouds media companies and corruption that makes into the very heart of these establishments via kickbacks and bribery. I tend to believe that this does exist in the world that we live in too and thinking otherwise is a blind belief in utopian state of affairs. The chart that I had put up a few days back ( Can the media break free? ) establishes this very point. Many of the Indian TV channels and news paper companies strings are pulled by crafty politicians and well-connected individuals who ultimately determine the feed that we get to chew. Rann has driven home this point exceptionally well and I reiterate that the timing of this movie’s release is sweet.
The master craftsman in this movie is undoubtedly Harshvardhan Malik ( Mr Bachchan ), the founder of a private news channel. A man of integrity and honor, whose ethics of business are different from the rest of the pack. He is a man who belongs to those rare breed of journalists, those who reveal the truth, the way it should be told, without exaggeration and falsification. Harshvardhan reminds us younger generation of the old school of thought, a dying school of thought. He exemplifies a doctrine which is a precious relic of the way business ought to be conducted, in a true and fair manner. But the vagaries of everyday politics that seeps into the roots of these media empires in vying for the top slot makes Harshvardhan’s son Jay Malik ( Sudhip ) succumb to the very same temptations of his competitor’s. Unfortunately, Harshvardhan tends to believe in his son’s ideas without being privy to the bitter truth and unveils a lie to the world. A lie that leads to the sacking of the PM of the country. Harshvardhan is a man who mistakenly thought that his son would be the upholder of his own beliefs and principles. Unfortunately, Jay Malik casts a web in which he traps himself by trying to find succor in the forbidden fruit. Jay’s lies to Harshvardhan about his modus operandi have far greater consequences than what he was prepared for and ultimately leads to his own suffocation. There is another honest journalist in this story, Purab Shastri ( Ritesh Deshmukh) who plays a pivotal role in uncovering the mistakes of Jay Malik and his associates. Purab is a chip of the old block as he emulates himself after Harshvardhan. Purab’s passion for journalism and Harshvardhan’s beliefs enables Purab to expose the nexus of politicians and industrialists involved in creating paid news which led to the sacking of the Prime Minister and thereby exposing Jay Malik, the man who produced the false news.
Sudhip as Jay is marvelous. Sudhip is strong, focussed and centric in his approach. His intensity is realistic and his weakness more so. We hope to see more of Sudhip in hindi cinema, he remains a noted kannada actor. Ritesh is good and restrained, a very different role for Ritesh and he meets the requirement. Mr Bachchan’s portrayal of Harshvardhan is exemplary. From the moment when Harshvardhan is informed about Jay’s costly mistakes to the moment when he shares this news with the world, Amitabh Bachchan well and truly showcases an acting finesse which is unsurpassable. The shock written all over his face as the father of a treacherous son and his astounded daze is crystal clear in his enactment. Amitabh Bachchan, even when he does not utter a word until the day he shares the terrible truth with the world at large, speaks to us, his audience in a language no other can. The dry smirk which he gives Mohan Pandey ( Paresh Rawal ) on accepting an invitation to relay the swearing-in ceremony translates into a zillion words by itself. His last address to the audience is worth a standing ovation and the one, last “namaskar” that he does, where he hangs his head more in gratitude and relief rather than shame is the coming together of two glorious hands of the same actor. One hand of completeness and the other of class. Mr Bachchan has yet again proved he is far ahead of the pack. RGV has not created a Sarkar or a Sarkar Raj with Rann but he has most certainly driven home a valid point about media corruption and their nexus. But, the soul of this movie lies in Mr Bachchan’s performance, a hallmark one.

Dear Sir,
This is not a comment on anything that you have written but a few questions I had.
1. Jayaji’s exit from movies after marriage was how much her decision and how much yours?
2. I am sure you donate towards many philanthropic causes. For people like me who love/respect/admire you, our regard for you will increase manifold if you let it be publicly known around how much in total you donate per year. It will also set a shining example for the others.
Thank you.

Sumanta

you’re blog is becoming repetitive and predictable. With respect to you and your Father’s poetry it does seem at times you have a personal agenda re your Father’s writing. Have read these comments so many times before. With all respect, having followed your blog from day one.

Dear Amitji,
Reading your post tonight I’m very saddened to learn of your extreme weakness. You’ve been working so hard lately, its unbelievable.
Your Father meant the world to you and is always with you in spirit and you are paying homage to him by keeping his works alive and for spreading it to so many people worldwide, who deeply appreciate this but please don’t let it consume your being. Your Father wouldn’t want this of you and would be sad, he needs you to remain strong, healthy and live a long life.
Please take plenty of rest so as to overcome this exhaustion and may tomorrow find you feeling refreshed and tons better after a good nights sleep. My thoughts and prayers are with you. You mean the world to me and to all your extended family here and everyday I thank the Almighty for giving us ‘YOU’.
With love & peace,
Brenda
Davkishinji, sir, being behind in reading all the comments, I was not sure what Valorie was thanking you for in terms of the phrase “his women”; but now I have caught up and read your original comment. This is one of those cases where I must agree to disagree with both you and my dear friend Valorie; nothing serious, it’s just a friendly difference of opinion among mutually esteemed members of the blog.
As much as I deeply respect, strongly admire and truly love Mr. Bachchan, I do not consider, I have not considered, nor will I ever consider myself to be one of “his women.”
I am my own woman, thank you very much, and have considered myself to be so since the day I grew up and ceased being “Daddy’s little girl.” The phrase “his women” makes me think of a harem; I cannot like the phrase, sir, although I am sure you meant it in a kindly, probably even a humorous way. As I said, it is a friendly difference of opinion, and I mean it in no way to reflect negatively on you or Valorie, nor does it in any way diminish my love for Valorie or my utmost regard for you as a true gentleman and one of our senior blog members.
Love and regards,
Phyllis

He was so sad..just blaming his hard luck

Love u a lot …..
Dear Sir,
You are that ONE celebrity who can never let us down, not as an actor or as a megastar but as a person. Ever since 26/11 hit Mumbai, I have been questioning & condemning myself and everyone around me for not doing anything to save our beloved country, to bring peace and to make our homes safe for us. You remembered the terror and you made your contribution towards peace through “Aman ki Asha”. Contrast this to our so-called-stars getting paid for an appearance at the birthday party of someone they don’t even know!By standing up for this cause, you have shown us a way and I can tell you one thing that you have atleast motivated one person (me) to dream and hope of peace again.
With love and respect always!
DEAREST LION KING,
JAI SHRI KRISHNA,
LOTS OF LOVE & RESPECT,
Sonal & Simran.
My Dearest Mr. Bachchan,
While iam glad that you had a wonderful and pleasant night today reciting your father’s works, but I feel sorry the magnificence of the night and your absorption in your father’s works have depleted and exhausted you. Reciting and performing the works of your father with all the diverse and different emotions and meanings they meant to convey would indeed be consuming emotionally and mentally. And I wish by tomorrow you will have gotten some essential . refreshing and rejuvenating rest.
It was interesting reading your description of the event, with this place which sounds to be one amazing remnant from the past, the informal seats and the overexcited crowds.
I always thought that Urdu and Hindi are two similar languages except with the different way of writings, Hindi In Devengari while Urdu is in Arabic letters. Maybe with some slight differences, but not those which would hinder understanding and communication of meaning between the two languages. But of course this is to be out of my ignorance, and it is obvious since there was difficulty and inability to communicate to the Urdu verse.
the crowds are without doubt bound to feel relieved and also overexcited and thrilled to hear and watch your recitation and performance of your father’s poetry. How I wish I would be able to live that experience Mr B, even my incomprehension and lack of understanding of the language wouldn’t hinder me to enjoy it.
Somewhere within me I do feel very good about this noble gesture presented by ‘Aman Ki Asha’ project, and the message of hope for peace and togetherness it is meant to convey, and I would like to think of it outside the boundaries it is made for. It is a sweet and hopeful voice in a world where there are many voices speaking languages of violence, war, hatred and divisions. And how I wish your voice reciting in hope of unity and peace would resonate and ring on broader horizons.
Lots of people indeed who love and appreciate poetry wouldn’t miss this bright night and your recitation of your great father, and it is so great that many who are even unaware of poetry made it to the event. I do love in you your continuous work on carrying on this task of keeping the works of your father in the light alive in the minds of the people, and even of brining it to the conscious and awareness of many people who were unconscious of it.
have a peaceful and restful sleep lovely Mr. B…and I wish tomorrow would bring you a refreshed and powerful state..
goodnight and enjoy the sweetest of dreams…
With my love to you…branded with deep affection and compassion..

Before I went away for the weekend, I started doing some much overdue cleaning. In one drawer, I found a folder that held my mother’s writings. She was a freelance writer when I was a kid but at some point gave it up. She wrote poems and short stories both under her maiden name and her married name. Some got published in magazines. Some of these I haven’t even read before. So as you have gone through your father’s papers, I am going through my late mother’s papers. I would like to post a couple of poems if you don’t mind:
How is Your garden growing? By Gloria Palan
How is your garden growing?
How have you sown your seeds?
Are all the flowers showing?
Or is it choked with weeds?
Your life is like the garden.
Both need Love’s gentle hoes.
To cultivate–not harden–
Soil where compassion grows.
Fulfilling is the hour
Spent planting friendship’s seeds;
True brotherhood–the flower
Which crowds out hatred’s weeds.
And a funny one:
Sob Story by Gloria Goldman
Mother of the bride
Mother of the groom
exchanged tearful glances across the hushed room.
Each thought it sentiment.
Neither one knew
that the other one’s girdle was killing her too.
As I read them, they either bring a tear to my eye or make me laugh or smile, and sometimes all at once. I hope it’s OK if I post a couple on the blog each day.
I have a feeling she would have loved you too. We had the same taste in men.
I hope you got your rest.
Love,
Rochelle

Isn’t it ironical that an AMAN KI ASHA which is trying ti bridge two countries together gets an okay from the MNS at bandra Fort but the same efforts for cricket tried by Shah Rukh faces flak?
Why should a movie in which a “Marathi Mulgi” Kajol who is a domicile of Mumbai and can speak-read-write Marathi be deprived of a release?
I would like to know your views on this if the Moderator is bold enough to publish them on your blog.

Dear Sir
It felt great to see a remembrance for the late Mr Sujit Kumar in your blogs. I wouldn’t say I was a fan of him but did like his acting prowess in the films Aradhana, Adalat and Barsaat Ki Ek Raat to name a few. I had seen him in some Bengali films too and remember him as a good actor who could blend with any character he played on screen.
Thanks for remembering him and this shows the gentleness of the great man - your own self.
Lots of regards

Dear Amitabh Bachchan,
It is a beautiful and delightful reading ‘to day’.. On the evening of poetry in Bandra Fort ..
There is nothing weak about it - it gave such a strong visual and emotional presence of the event conveyed by your words !!
*
I loved the theme of dedication you mentioned that it was “recited in the spirit of togetherness and hope for peace” …
*
I just came back home and I do not have much to comment except that I will reread you entry again with the feeling of happiness it brought to me for some reason …
Have a beautiful day safely back home and rest from all the exhaustive travels till you feel rested : )
May God be kind to you and all ever..
With love and gratitude.

Sir
Sorry for posting another message on the same blog, but I had a question on my mind. You have been acting and rendering many characters on screen. Long time back (just when Channel V was introduced in the country - I guess I was around 15-16 then), Channel V was asking people and surveying as to whom they thought was the biggest superstar in Bollywood. Many people said many names - some prominent ones were yourself, Mr. Rajesh Khanna sir, Mr.Duleep Kumar sir etc but one answer stood out and still remains fresh in my mind. This gentlemen said, there was no real superstars in Bollywood. The singers made superstars - he went on saying Mukesh made Mr. Raj Kapoor famous, Rafi saaheb made Mr.Shammi Kapoor famous and Kishore Da was responsible for the stardom status of Mr.Rajesh Khanna, Mr.Dev Anand and even Mr.Amitabh Bachchan. This comment is still fresh in my mind and I feel he had some authenticity to his comment. Sir, with all my respects, I would like to know your thoughts on this comment made by the gentleman on TV around 14-15 years ago.
Thanks and Regards
Saurabh Ganguly

@Kay
Whats the big deal in your comment for moderator nor to let it publish ??
Director of moovie MNK had gone running to Raj Thakre to apolosise for saying Mumbai, Bombay far lighter than calling Pakistan a great neighbour to have. Hope SRK wishes for a neighbour who everyday throws his filth in his backyard and breaks his windows and abuses his wife and children then let him say what a great neigbour he has got which goes and watches his film.
Dear Amitji,
Your fatigue worries
Take care Sirji. Agree that this time around the energy drain is less physical and more mental, but the feeling of being exhausted is real and you have to set this correct by spending a lot of time under the duvet .
Your report on the Bandra fort evening seems mixed. I was reminded of a quote from Swami Dayanandji where he said ‘It does not matter what you speak, the audience will listen to what they want’ .Great news that Bingo continues to top the TRPs. What is the latest on Teenpatti ?
Like Rochelle I too felt that you meant ‘other’ in the end.
End Line -
TWO FROGS [Inspiring Story]
A group of frogs were traveling through the woods, and two of them fell into a deep pit. When the other frogs saw how deep the pit was, they told the two frogs that they were as good as dead.
The two frogs ignored the comments and tried to jump up out of the pit with all their might. The other frogs kept telling them to stop, that they were as good as dead. Finally, one of the frogs took heed to what the other frogs were saying and gave up. He fell down and died.
The other frog continued to jump as hard as he could. Once again, the crowd of frogs yelled at him to stop the pain and just die.
He jumped even harder and finally made it out. When he got out, the other frogs said, “Did you not hear us?”
The frog explained to them that he was deaf. He thought they were encouraging him the entire time.
THIS STORY TEACHES TWO LESSONS:
1. There is power of life and death in the tongue. An encouraging word to someone who is down can lift them up and help them make it through the day.
2. A destructive word to someone who is down can be what it takes to kill them.
Be careful of what you say. Speak life to those who cross your path. The power of words… It is sometimes hard to understand that an encouraging word can go such a long way.
Anyone can speak words that tend to rob another of the spirit to continue in difficult times. Special is the individual who will take the time to encourage another.
Yours as always
Ramanathan

Dear Amitji
was very sad to read on BBC and in the newpaper about your pacifist reaction to what the sena does. You “adoration” for their boss even!! Your fathers poems inspire me to be true I have them infront of my desk as I work, should you not take a strong stand? Should your voice not be a voice of strength and courage? Is your weakness stemming from silencing your little voice? The successful and the prominent have a duty to stand for truth.Somehow the recitation of “himmat karne walon ki haar nahi hoti” from you will not seem so strong anymore. We have seen a hero in you rightly or wrongly.I hope you find it in your self to take a courageous stand in the larger interests of what is true and fair.
If you dont I understand with some sadness perhaps.God bless you with inner strength may you be happy and at peace with yourself.
Dear Amitji,
can you please share a few pictures of the function.Would be very glad to have them. Can you also share a video clip of your recitation of your father’s poetry.I have seen your do that on TV a few times.
Warm regards,
Vinayak
I find myself mentally exhausted, tired and frustrated. I should not be focussing on something as trivial as this, I find myself being admonished by the more logical part of myself. I should just move on after all, it is not uncommon for siblings to find themselves emotionally distant after they have grown up! It happens all the time, doesn’t it? When did things start deteriorating so much that my sibling and I started speaking two different languages? When did we become so distant that it almost seems like our lives are forever going to run in parallels never to meet again. I am tired now, tired of bridging the gap only to be disappointed and misunderstood.
Yes, I am off on a tangent and I do apologize for that but the past couple of days have been draining to say the least. I need to cheer up and move on. Sorry to disappoint you ma but you know I tried.
loveyou
Hi Amitabh,

Dear Mr. Bachchan,
‘Aman ki Aasha’ was a good initiative towards easing up the tension between India and Pakistan. More of such initiatives must be wholeheartedly encouraged and supported if we are to make any progress with our neighbors.

Respected AMitji,
Your first para scared me.. it had more of ‘feeling weak…’ and that is something which we donot want to see in u dearest!! But as i went thru the rest of the post, i did understand that it is exhaustiveness of consumption of some excellent work.
You are filled with emotions too whenever u speak about dadaji or ur maaji.. That also makes u heavy at heart too sir…
Glad that the event at Bandra went off well and it was liked by all and all and all..
May you have the required rest and lots of happiness..
love u more than ever before..

Very good morning to you!
Many thanks for your wonderful Blog - It was so great to read your lovely posts each & every day. Also I would like to thank you for the yellow lines you’ve given to the “Lucky ones”. Really appreciate your attempt for the yellow lines & many thanks for your time too.
The first two paragraphs of your blog are bit confusing!! Anyway, I am so sorry to hear that you are weak today & think that you are depressed for something for some reason. Maybe, you are away from your sweet home, family, loved ones, friends etc. or maybe you are emotionally exhausted for some other reason! (Am sorry – I can’t guess!
)
“When mental energy is allowed to follow the line of least resistance and to fall into easy channels, it is called weakness”
Ok “Maharaj”, I sign off for today with one of my favouries quotes:-
“If a problem can be solved, no need to worry about. If a problem cannot be solved, what is the use of worrying?”
Have a fantastic day ahead & be happy
!
Cheers

God bless!

Dear Mr.Bachchan,
There is an ancient treatise “Harivansha”. Chronicles the stories of Lord krishna. Bankim Chandra, the famous writer of Ananda Math says, that Lord krishana’s tale is chroincle in Harivansha, Mahabharata, and Sri Bhagwatam.
Just wondered, if your father’s first name was kept keeping in mind the book.
Also there are cd available for Madhushala, rendered by the lovely Mana Dey. Any plans to reder Madhushala in your voice. Probable colloboration with AR Rahman or the lovely Illayaraja.
Sincerely,

Dear Amitabhji,
i feel times of india is doing great service to both india and pakistan through AMAN KI ASHA. Through Poetry of dr Harivansh Rai Bachachan and Fiaz Ahmed Faiz sincere and concerted efforts have been made to bring people of both the countries together. This peace effort is incredible and laudable.Your contribution to this cause is priceless and will be remebered by the posterity.
The organisers of this programme desrves all the kudos for this very thoughtfull and noval idea to arrange for the recitation of the poetry of two great poets of both the nations .Dr Harivansh Rai Bachachans poetry has been recited by none other than his illustrious son AMITABH BACHACHAN ————-SONE PA SUHAGGA HA.i am dying to listen to you your fathers poetry.

Dear Amit………………..Great job at aman ki asha……….My friend.
Take care…………..we feel the tiredness.
Excerpts from famous speech before partition of India-Pak………the design for peace for smooth handover of power by britishraj.
[The closing session of the Inter-Asian Relations Conference held on April 2, 1947 was a great finale to the intense activity which marked the proceedings during the past ten days. Over 20,000 visitors and delegates and observers gave a great ovation to Gandhiji when Mrs. Naidu introduced him as a ‘one of the greatest Asians of the age’. Gandhiji who followed Dr.Sjahriar, the Premier of Indonesia, made the following speech:]
I do not think that I should apologize to you for having to speak in a foreign tongue. I wonder if this loud speaker carries my voice to the farthest end of this vast audience. If some of those who are far away are unable to listen to what I may say, it will be the fault of the loud speaker.
I was going to tell you that I do not wish to apologize. I dare not. You cannot understand the provincial language, which is my mother tongue. I do not want to insult you by speaking in my own language (Gujarati). Our national speech is Hindustani. I know that it will be a long time before it can be made into an international speech. For international commerce, undoubtedly, English occupies the first place. I used to hear that French was the language of diplomacy. I was told, when I was young, that if I wanted to go from one end of Europe to the other, I must try to pick up French. I tried to learn French, in order that I may be able to make myself understood. There is a rivalry between the French and the English. Having been taught English, I have naturally to resort to it.
I was wondering, as to what I was to speak to you. I wanted to collect my thoughts, but, let me confess to you that I had no time. Yet I had promised yesterday that I would try to say a few words. While I was coming with Badshah Khan, I asked for a little piece of paper and pencil. I got a pen, instead of a pencil. I tried to scribble a few words. You will be sorry to hear that piece of paper is not by my side, though I remember what I wanted to say.
You, friends, have not seen the real India and you are not meeting in conference in the midst of real India. Delhi, Bombay, Madras, Calcutta, Lahore-all these are big cities and are, therefore, influenced by the West.
I then thought of a story. It was in French and was translated for me by an Anglo-French philosopher. He was an unselfish man. He befriended me without having known me, because he always sided with the minorities. I was not then in my own country. I was not only in a hopeless minority, but in a despised minority, if the Europeans in South Africa will forgive me for saying so. I was a coolie lawyer. At the time, we had no coolie doctors, and we had no coolie lawyers. I was the first in the field. You know, perhaps, what is meant by the word ‘coolie’.
This friend–his mother was a French woman and his father was an Englishmen–said: “I want to translate for you a French story. There were three scientists who went out from France in search of truth. They went to different parts of Asia. One of them found his way to India. He began to search. He went to the so-called cities of those times–naturally this was before British occupation, before even the Mogul period. He saw the so-called high caste people, men and women, till he felt at a loss. Finally, he went to one humble cottage and there he found the truth that he was in search of.”
If you really want to see India villages at its best, you have to find it in the humble bhangi homes of such villages. There are seven lakhs of such villages, and thirty-eighty crores of people inhabit them.
If some of you see the Indian villages, you will not be fascinated by the sight. You will have to scratch below the dung heap. I do not pretend to say that they were places of paradise. Today, they are really dung heaps. They were not like that before. What I say is not from history, but from what I have seen myself. I have traveled from one end of India to the other, and I have seen the miserable specimens of humanity with the lustreless eyes. They are India. In these humble cottages, in the midst of these dung heaps, are to be found humble bhangis, in whom you find the concentrated essence of wisdom.
Again, I have learnt from books–books written by English historians. We read books written in English historians, but we do not write in our own mother tongue, or in the national language Hindustani. We study our history through English books, rather than through originals. That is the cultural conquest which India has undergone.
The first of these wise men was Zoroaster. He belonged to the East. He was followed by Buddha who belonged to the East–India. Who followed Buddha? Jesus, who came from the East. Before Jesus was Moses who belonged to Palestine, though he was born in Egypt. And after Jesus came Mohamed. I omit my reference to Krishna and Rama and other lights. I do not call them lesser lights but they are lees known a single person in the world to match these men of Asia. And then what happened? Christianity became disfigured, when it went to the West. I am sorry to have to say that–I would not talk any further.
I have told you the story, in order to make you understand that what you see in the big cities is not the real India. Certainly, the carnage that is going on before our very eyes is a shameful thing. As I said yesterday, do not carry the memory of that carnage beyond the confines of India.
What I want you to understand is the message of Asia. It is not to be learnt through the western spectacles or by imitating the atom bomb. If you want to give a message of truth. I do not want merely to appeal to your head. I want to capture your heart.
In this age of democracy, in this age of awakening of the poorest of the poor, you can redeliver this message with the greatest emphasis. You will complete the conquest of the West, not through vengeance, because you have been exploited, but with real understanding. I am sanguine, if all of you put your hearts together–not merely heads–to understand the secret of the message these wise men of the East have left to us, and us if we really become worthy of that great message, the conquest of the West will be completed. This conquest will be loved by the West itself.
The West is today pinning for wisdom. It is despairing of a multiplication of the atom bombs, because the atom bombs mean utter destruction, not merely of the West, but of the whole world, as if the prophecy of the Bible is going to be fulfilled and there is to be a perfect deluge. It is up to you to tell the world of its wickedness and sin–that is the heritage your teachers and my teachers have taught Asia.
With love to you ………………son of india

Sir,
Today I write to you in my real name. In the past I’ve posted comments here under my blogger identity.
I understand that you had been to visit our cousin Anu’s ( Pradeep Varier)family concern- Lakshmi Hospital in Kochi as a part of the Jeevarogya Medical Welfare campaign. Missed the momentous occasion.
I’ve posted comments previously, as I said in my blogger id- a couple of times simply to reach out, once to express my sentiments after reading your father’s “In The Afternoon of Time” , another time to request you to peruse my attempt at translating Dr. Dharamveer Bharthi’s “Kanupriya” into English.
Love and prayers
Nirmala Varrier
Dear Amitji,
Good morning! It would be lovely if you could post a small excerpt from the video of you reciting your great father’s poetry on the blog. Please think about it.
Bharat Goswami
Wow Tehreem 74 Your first paragraph was itself revelationary! Thanks for that burst of inspiration!
Your Fathers ‘poems are very inspiring n’Awesome;Ikeep telling my daughter Ashwini to read them..
78 Saroj - that bonfire on a Caribbean beach sounds fabulous! I adore campfires with the sound of the surf out there in the dark. I’m bringin’ my tent and spendin’ the night!! And I’ll bet the stars will be really bright too, right? Thanks for the invitation!!
Dear Amitabh ji…
Rann is veryy well made.
Its great to see u in such meaningful movies concerning the common man
and thus the society.
All good luck and lots of love for your forthcoming venture…
wish to see u more n more n more…….
Hi Sir,
Hope you are feeling better now, and that weakness of which you speak of is gone. It is perhaps likely due to being exhausted and those countless days now in which you have been deprived of sleep. A restful day shall rejuvenate and take you by surprise by how much energy it can return both physically and mentally. The poetic pieces presented at the event must have been fascinating to listen to and your father’s poetry adding to it. It is for one to read poetry, but another to listen to it. Is Bigadda working on those audio blogs yet or what?
Regards and Love,
S
Good morning, Amitji. I hope you had a good night’s sleep and are feeling fresh as a Daisy and a Jasmine (of London)!! I was sorry to hear you say how exhausted you were feeling. You need a few days of doing absolutely nothing. Maybe going to Goa and lazing around in that hammock. Remember?
I wish I could have been there at Bandra Fort. I can only imagine what a beautiful evening it must have been, with you reciting Madhushala and Zia Moyiuddin, whose voice I have also greatly admired, reciting Faiz. Kya saman raha hoga. I am so glad Nilesh Madia and Bhisham Mansukhani were lucky enough to be there to represent the FmXt and enjoy the magical evening. I am not surprised that your father’s words give you a charge when you are feeling low.
I’m not sure I understand what you meant towards the end, but that is okay. It is sufficient for me that you communicated with us, and I, along with hundreds of thousands, got a glimpse into your thought processes.
I hope you have a happy, restful Tuesday.
My love and regards, as always,
Jasmine Jaywant

And I am sincerely thankful for what you’ve said about me. Very kind of you. As they say, it takes one to know one, and beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. We see the world in our own image.
Saroj #78: That bonfire and the party was terrific! Now I’m exhausted: first Valorie’s party, then yours! But it was such fun. I hope both of you have a wonderful year ahead.

Dear Sir, I am a great admirer and fan of yours. Coming staright to the point I want to mention here is related to SRK controversy of IPL and his film My Name is Khan. Although Abhishek has given the statement from your family, I would expect a statement from your side is genuinly required being the PAA of Hindi Film and even though SRK is Badshaah of Bollywood, he can not match your stature in the Hindi Film come what may. You are the brand ambassador of Aman ki Asha initiative of TOI and I feel you need to comment on SRK vs Thakray issue also to show solidarity with your community.
With all due respect and Best Regards…..Amit
Sir,
Weakness shall pass through and you would come out stronger. You are just 68. Your body is in shape and you are working out at gym for two hours that most of the youth can not afford to do.
Best brand value of love so far has been Krishna or Christ or Khuda so far.I know you are talking about that. However, brand ‘AMITABH BCHCHAN’ also has that near fanatic brand presence and value.
To a person who values love,
Regards,
Anand
dear amitji,

dear amitabh,
Good morning to you my love,
I just do not calm you a little weak and tired,
You need a rest, the last time you were very busy and you just need some rest.
Rest, eat well and have it collect new strength.
I want to hear you feel good and strong …
I love you very much,
Endless love for you grows stronger every day,
Have a nice day and pleasant,
Sima Fadida - Israel
Dearest dearest Amitji,
I absolutely love you since we were kids. You are the greatest superstar ever. Amitji sorry to bother you, but my friend Bindu turns 40 on the 5th of March and she is absolutely crazy about you. She would be thrilled if you wrote her a note for her birthday. And I would be even more thrilled to give her such a valuable present. Thank you so much Amitji, Lots of love Ruchika Kothari
Dear Amitji, Good morning. Weakness felt by you is because you are engulfed in the writings of your father. They are so universal and thought provoking that you cannot escape their enveloping effect. You being his son can hear him well in his words as you recite them for others. He enters your mind and gives you feeling of his immortal existence.
Our heritage sites are very valuable possesions and need to be preserved well for benefit of future generations. We have a duty towards them to keep them away from abuse and damage. Peace within countries and peace in minds of people is very essential part of good living. One has to go about his work and life in a fearless peaceful atmosphere. One can do wonders when one has true freedom.
My regards to those who work towards lasting peace and harmony towards nations and people in general. Respect of human life and dignity need to be preserved for everyone to prosper.

Dearest Amitji,
I am so sorry that you felt weak yesterday. Am sure you are back to normal today. And please take it easy..
Love you
Ami
Dear Amitabh,
How nice to hear what a lovely performance it was. I get the feeling that India is so deep, so full of rich culture, that nobody could ever plumb its depths. There is so much to be read, to be heard, to be viewed … a tapestry of beautiful things.
Aloha from Hawaii …
Love as always, Dorothy
DEAR MR.BACHCHAN,
I AM REALLY HURT BY YOUR COMMENT “It being an outdoor amphitheater with free passes it was bound to get a little boisterous.” I DON’T THINK YOU CAN COMPARE THESE PEOPLE WITH THOSE STANDING OUTSIDE YOUR HOUSE OR FOLLOW YOU WHERE EVER YOU GO. MOST OF THEM WERE WORKING PEOPLE WHO HAD SOMEHOW MANAGED TO GET THE PASS AND LEFT THEIR PLACE OF WORK EARLY OR POSTPONED THEIR OTHER COMMITMENTS TO ATTEND THIS FUNCTION. THEN THERE WERE SENIOR CITIZENS WHO HAD COME FROM FAR HAVING VALID PASSES BUT WERE NOT ALLOWED TO ENTER. THERE WERE PEOPLE WHO HAD COME FROM BORIVILI AND GHATKOPAR. I HOPE YOU REALISE THE TIME AND MONEY WASTED BY THEM. PEOPLE STANDING THERE WERE FROM EDUCATED AND WELL DISCIPLINED CLASS AND THAT IS WHY MOST OF THEM LEFT WITH MUCH HUE AND CRY. THE ORGANISERS DIDN’T EVEN HAD THE COURTESY TO APOLOGISE AND ANNOUNCE THAT THEY HAVE STOPPED THE ENTRY BECAUSE THE PASSES WERE ISSUED MORE THAN THE CAPCITY. PEOPLE WERE PATIENTLY STANDING IN THE QUEQE WHICH WAS RIGHT UPTO THE ENTRANCE OF HOTEL TAJ LANDS END, WITHOUT KNOWING THAT THE ENTRY HAS BEEN STOPPED AND THE PROGRAM HAS ALREADY STARTED. mOST OF THEM THOUGHT THAT IT IS TAKING TIME BECAUSE OF SECURITY CHECK. I DON’T WANT TO GO INTO THE DETAILS AND TELL YOU ABOUT THE EFFORTS TAKEN BY THE PEOPLE TO ATTEND THIS FUNCTION BUT, IT IS HUMBLE REQUEST PLEASE DO NOT DOWNGRADE OTHERS JUST BECAUSE THE ORGANISERS WANTED SOME CHEAP PUBLICITY OR HAVE COMMITED SOME BLUNDER. LAST BUT NOT THE LEAST PLEASE SHOW SOME RESPECT FOR THOSE ELDERLY PEOPLE WHO WERE PATIENTLY WATING IN THE QUE FOR A LONG TIME.
ANIL
Amitji, it is so nice to hear that your “Aman Ki Asha” with all others is progressing well.
Yes, Urdu is the official language of Pakistan for a while but so was it for India when the Badsha’s ruled India.
Anyway, Urdu is a beautiful language.
Yes, the poetry is getting popular and that is mainly because of your input having inherited the talents from your dad.
By the way, I saw RANN and loved it until the end.
It is a fantastic movie and is very riveting, as one has to sit from the beginning till the end. It reminded me of another film of Shashi Kapoor “Kalyug” directed by Shyam Benegal. This was another film that I loved so much and still love it.
I loved it more than the other films, which are simply classed as entertainment value.
Anyway, now I await “Teen Patti”.
Regards to you and the Bachchan Family.

Phyllis: Thanks so much but I think one mind ruined is more than enough!
BIG B JI KO BIG BIG BIG HELLO
Dearest Amitji,
It is when we fall that we shall rise, it is when we fail that we shall succeed, it is when we are weak that we shall know our strengths, It is good to be feel weak once in a while with ourselves since this is when our beliefs become stronger in God. This sign is evident when there appears a rainbow after the storm.
SURRENDER is one of the brands of Love and you by doing so totally before going to bed ensured that you will rise blooming with brightness and twinkling eyes.
Continue your day, as we continue ours and together we shall continue to continously love interacting right here to overcome weakness and control strength.
Love

My dearest Mr. Bachchan,
I was quite distressed to see the undertones of emotional fatigue in your brief today. Your love for your venerable Father was all consuming, I know that…I can never ever forget the sight of you, desolate, sitting by his pyre alone, after all the others had left, shoulders hunched, and the expression on your face tearing thru my very soul….you seemed like a man who had lost his all in that moment. And time seems not to have diminished your anquish at all. But do please take a hold on yourself! We numb ourselves, when we part with a loved one, and move on with our lives…which would be the sensible thing to do for all practical purposes, but when the moments come, in which we unite with them again, in thought and deed, the pain shatters us all over again….draining us of the will to go on, making us want to acknowledge the futility of life without them…and then we look around us, at those who look up to us, count on us to be there for them, and we gather ourselves and numb ourselves once more. Life goes on……I wish I could have been a part of the evening at the Bandra Fort yesterday…just so that I could see you in person once more, this time in oneness with your dear Father’s thoughts and his words. Just like the miracle which happened for me on the 17th of December 09, I am sure that God will gift me with another one….this time to hear you recite your Father’s poetry! I am sure it will happen….
I did backtrack and read your brief of the 5th of February, though I was unable to pinpoint the context to your reference. It was obviously about unethical media operations, but I hope you will tell us exactly what it was that upset you?
Please take care of yourself and please do try and not be too overcome emotionally, for it saps you completely. Please do also arrange your commitments so as to be able to get a few days’ rest in between? God Bless you always, and our love to Jaya and the children.
Ever and always,
Kashmira

(that’s a cool way to number the number one post, huh?)
Please remember that you live for loving us. So for the sake of Mike, have a little kit-kat break and give yourself some free time. Whatever you say that you were exhausted because of your involvement in work, its the fatigue that is the real reason. WE NEED YOU!! That’s a billion strong WE. Please make our day by saying that you are going for a small vacation. No Blackberry, no meeting, no newspapers, no TV. Just yourself.
It will make us all happy. And you did say that in our happiness lies yours. Did you not?
Cheers
Barun
Dear AmitJi,
Please don’t feel weak……….it saddens all of us…………we all look upto you for motivation, for strength and we feel sad when you feel low, rather your exuberant mood strengthens us.
Wish we were present at the Bandra Fort…………my husband loves “Madhushala”!
Thanks & Regards,
Manashi
Dear Amit ji ,
GOD BLESS U………..hope all’s well at your end……..n best way to overcome exhaustion is to let yourself unwind away from hustle n bustle of the glam world that you are in…..go to a lonely beach or a hill station n just enjoy mother nature n listen to some soothing music……..spend time with trees, flowers, animals…….rain…..sun….snow……..
U will be recharged and so cant get back to your 24×7 glam lyf…….
god bless
Luv.

I totally agree that AB junior is entering exciting and most important phase of his career.I just have a feeling that Raavan will be for Abhishek what Deewar was for Amitabh.
Dear Mr. Bachchan,
The crowd at Bandra fort must be lucky to witness you reciting Madhushala.
Regards,
Naishadh Vyas
Dear Boss,
Good morning, Iam so sorry to learn that you are weak, please take care, may be it because of your recent South India trip, may be you have been eating too much coconut mixed curry’s and same time wearing the lungi “Munda” and think that it may come off anytime, may be stomach upset, may be.
So for now take some real rest.
one thing I like about you is that you are too honest in writting what you really want to do as you wrote yesterday but then you yourself is responsible for making yourself far too busy to do anything you really want or wanted to do…..so funny…..personal hunger of getting away from focus, media attention, popularity, financial status & image security for your family, drop down of that status bar on a filmi chart….these all effects in making you think differently, differently in such a way that you are not in control of yourself (inner self), you can not do what you really want to do…in Hindi it’s call…Moh-Maya Ka Jaal.
You’ve made enough, got enough, done enough, been through enough, seen enough…..but still it’s not enough…..it’s the inner voice wake-up call, go with it at this age, you wont regret, nor will anybody.
Try to find the soul in you…..what you see and we see is just the cover…the real is inside.
Sir, am I right in guessing it right?
Best Regards,
Pratap Singh Tomer

Sir
Great post again. I am a big fan of your values… your gestures… you as a person. The love & respect, the belief you carry for your father is commendable and we all must learn from it.
I have Madhushala in your voice on my mobile and sometimes I listen to it when I feel grilled in my hectic schedule. You have a rejuvenating voice which makes me all charged up again for running further with life.
Pl do not feel weak sir, take a break from the responsibilities for a while and do what you wish to do… Go to some Holiday with Jaya Ma’am and have some peace, some rest & come back more charged to make us charged….
As always, waiting to meet you some day….
Regards
Alka

Dear Sir,
I don’t know how much this AMAN KI ASHA initiative is going to achieve, but such cultural exchanges between India & Pakistan are indeed a welcome thing!
Please post some videos of the program, or at least mp3 versions of the poems recited by you. And Sir, when are you coming out with the official release of your father’s poems recited by YOU????!!!!!!!!! We are WAITING………!
With love & regards,

Sirji,
Like many others before me who have announced their being your staunchest fans…I would like to add myself to this list…I stay in Bangkok and therefore did not have the fortune of attending your recital last evening…believe me, has I been in Mumbai, I would surely have attended…One of my friends, Ranjit Mathure had the good fortune of attending this programme and here is what he has described to us about the programme…there can never be a bigger fan…
Quote
Amitabh - The Phenomenon
I, along with Rajeev, had the good fortune of playing audience to a recital of Shri Harivanshrai Bacchhan’s poems by Amitabh Bacchhan. This program was held yesterday at the scenic Bandra Fort. This is a part of a series of performances by artists , singers , poets and authors which constitute the “Aman Ki Asha” program which is a peace initiative launched by Times Of India in association with Pakistan’s Jang Group of Publications.
The program started with a recital of poems from the Pakistani poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz’s works. The poetry was eloquently and melodiously presented by Zia Moinuddin – a leading Pakistani actor of yesteryears.
After this program ended , we had the man himself on the stage – Phenomenon , Legend , Megastar - the Big B. Believe me friends , from the moment Amitabh set foot on the stage till he gave his final bow , it was sheer magic. For a span of about 90 minutes, the entire audience was spell bound , mesmerized and completely enthralled by this great mans style , his persona , his deep baritone and above all his humility and modesty.
It would not be an exaggeration to say that what we see on the screen is perhaps only one tenth of this man’s real charm and charisma. As per his much celebrated punctuality , Amitabh was well in time for the event in spite of the fact that he had to drive through much the same heavy traffic like all of us and in a van which is almost the size of a truck. He appeared on the stage at the scheduled hour and left at the predetermined time.
The program comprised of a mellifluous recitation of poems from Shri Harivanshrai Bacchhan’s much acclaimed work – Madhushala , and other celebrated works, during which Amitabh actually sang like an accomplished singer to the accompaniment of a group of musicians. Such was the power of this fantastic poetry and Amitabh’s rendition that all of us were almost in a state of transcendental meditation. It was like the great poets words had acquired life and were wafting around in the air when mouthed by his gifted son.
And believe me when I say this , the deep baritone is much the same as when he captivated us with his splendid dialogue delivery in such classics like Zanjeer , Deewar , Namak Haram and Trishul to name just a few.
In some respects this great man has always been an Enigma for me. I have always wondered how an individual can rule so many hearts , have a delightful impact which cuts across all barriers of age and ancestry and maintain his rightful place in the hallowed stratosphere for such a long time. Yesterday , I think I was able to get answers to some of these questions. It is simple and yet stupefying. This man works much harder than the rest of us and there is meticulous planning and preparation behind every single move that he makes.
It is difficult to imagine that a genius who has crossed all known boundaries of artistry still believes in sanctity of scrupulousness.
And finally , it would surprise us to know the primary reason behind the magnificence of his performance. The deep and infinite respect and reverence for his great parents – The late Shri Harivanshrai and Smt Teji Bacchan. The care and caution with which he handled his father’s creation and the deep regard that he had for every single alphabet from his poetry is what finally brought forth to us , the audience , a magical moment which is certainly unforgettable.
I am sure that his program will be replayed on one of the television channels and I strongly urge all of you to watch it.

Makes one sad to think that had Mr. Harivansh Rai Bachhan not been your father then maybe a lot of us would have never had the opportunity to read or hear some of his great works. Also, makes one wonder there would so many other such great works out there that never got the recognition they deserved.

I wish you a good health and thank god to have superstar like you!

It is heartening to see that the post which I did not want to submit as a second thought did not find fvours with the server..
There is no reason that s strong man like you should feel weak.. it is all right.. the system does seek rest and at times throws us into conditions that we can probably call as feeling weak.. jokes apart.. I certainly do feel weak when you say you are feeling weak.. Give in yourself to some sort of entertainment.. yet I know it is not so easy for you to relax as easily as some of us less celebrity people can achieve or plan about.. Try some computer games that you might have been taught by Navya -Agastya or anyone for that matter.. though I would suggest that if you are not aready into computer games.. it is best left dormant.. what else could I suggest you that is practically possible.. I know asking you to go out and enjoy in India is seemingly impossible.. you decide what you like best and something that does not involve too much of travel..
I wish I could make a trip to Bandra Fort.. I could not go to Times Office and I also could not just walk into the place basically you would be surprised if I tell you that I don’t know where this Bandra Fort is.. I could have found out though.. it is again all right.. I can wait for our second meeting to take place in good time.. Oh! you don’t rememebr we had met and still not met at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan at Bachchan Sandhya.. at the 102nd anniversary celebrations.. for me such kind of meetings are good enough.. theek hai aap ko chookar nahi dekha to kya hua.. dekh to liya na.. I am happy for myself on that count alone..
I shall take leave of you for the time being.. if the show was aired on Times Now.. I have missed it.. and now don’t get me wrong.. I did not know about it.. seriously.. Par bhaai.. News channel mei kya karun samvedana lekar tumhaari kya karun.. was good enough.. only I did not like you red avatar.. something spiritual about wearing red.. and the background was red too.. I was reminded of the occasion when Amrit in Red T-shirt danced in the red background for Dil na diya song a few years back.. I just said it like that..don’t take it too seriously.. what you wear is what you like.. it is all right..

Dear Amitji,
Just a quick note sent with my warmest wishes to ask how you are feeling today.
I was deeply worried and concerned and pray that all exhaustion leaves you and you are once more refreshed with strength, peace and calmness.

Dear Shri Bachchan,
I live in Madras, Bollywood nor ’superstardom’ never really interested me.
Having said that, I respect people and what they do, though it may not be my cuppa-tea !
I read in the news recently that you have offered to be the ambassador for Gujarat. I sure can relate to you there as I just travelled in that great, model state of our country and came home with the same feeling. Developed great admiration for Mr. Modi and his admistration, impact of which I could feel in the local bus, train, office and among people of all faith.
A travel article on ‘Rann of Kutch’ to promote Gujarat is pending publication in The Hindu and is my small part to play that ‘ambassador’ role.
Thank you for your vision in promoting something that genuinly deserves
Regards,
anantha
Hi Mr Bachchan
Hope my mail finds you in the best of your health and spirits.
I went to see Rann today second time.Loved it more.
Hope the recitation went fine yesterday and I know that you are exhausted.
I wish I could be the part of the evening. If I was in bombay I could have come.I love to listen and read your father’s poetry and if it is coming from you then it’s wonderful.Perhaps sometime it may be shown in the TV.
Take care
Love & warm regards

Dearest Amitabh Bachchanji,
I was a very active Blogger during 2008-9 when you used to post your response to the comments once in a while.
Now, after a long gap, when I come here, I see that you have stopped responding to coments! Or, is there any new means that has been devised to respond to your extended family? Please, please let me know. Because, without your response, the Blog has become lifeless and uninteresting.
Best regards

Bingo’s TRPs are 1.5. Dismal for a show with a commercial star. Check with indiantelevision.com - scroll down to Top 100 shows. This is what I don’t like. Rank flattery, Satyam. Speaking up, I was taught, showed character, not disrespect, But Mr Bachchan who is the kind who would have extolled Hitler’s virtues right outside a gas chamber of screaming women, aged & children just so long as Hitler flattered him with a tax exemption, deserves you & JJ.

Dear Amitji,
I started reading your blog since last two months. Now it has become a daily affair as i read the news paper every day.
I am 41 years old and has grown up watching your movies. Like millions of your fans i also remembered most of your famous dialogues.
i feel great pride when i write to you as we fans always feel to see a glimps of you or meet u. Though it is very difficult to meet u in person, i feel i am connected to you right now when writing to you.
I dont know what will you feel (you may laugh) when i say that there are some people in this great country whome me and my wife feel that they are a part of our family.
There are these people like Lataji, Ashaji, Sunny Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar and The Shahenshah Mr. Bachchan who are born once in ten thousand years.
We are your fans but more so we feel that you all are a part of our family as all of you have enriched our lives, made our lives happy in this world.
Dear Amitji, I am amazed to see the level of commitment you put in your work at this age, you are the busiest actor today in the film industry (i dont like to call it bollywood). I pray to the almighty to give you strength and keep you healthy always so that we can get the feast of your extraordinary performences in the future.

Dear Amit Ji
I am sure it was a great time at Bandra fort last night…
Thanks & regards
My dearest Amithji,
How are you?
Saw your photo in TOI , wearing red kurta. You look smashing?
:) Guess, I was simply not destined to hear you & see you. Hope , someother time god will show some mercy on me.
I almost had the ‘invite’ to attend yesterday’s function! But due to distance factor, was not able to get it in my hand on time, & so I had to let it go!:)
Instead , went & attended the ongoing festival at ‘kalaghoda’. Watched some ‘kathakalli’ performence . Did not do any shopping as the prices were really steep this time. The handcrafted wall clocks were costing anywhere between Rs7000- 30000!
You are soo lucky that you have this virtual connectivity with your father! he must be smiling from up there , whenever you recite his poems. What a worthy son you have turned out to be.
Weak with mental exhaution! That’s what has happened with you. This is how all the stucents preparing for their final exams must be feeling!
Please take proper rest. A good 8hrs sleep can do wonders to your health.
Take care,
my love & support to you always,
kalpana kakade
OH NO!!!! I just realised I have put wrong smiley when I said that I could not get the ‘invite’ in time!!!! SORRY, SORRY It should be this:(
:(
Sorry once again,

Real sir aap jaisa koi nahi you are real ideal for youngester
Dear Sir,
You sound a bit weary in the opening line. Life takes its toll. People, places, deeds and things…as I remember. The compulsions in the mind, the health constraints on the body. Solace, hope and inner satisfaction accompanied by fatigue, anxieties and expectations. The need to perform, the need to please, the need to achieve results, the need to move on to the next project, the need to remain “on toes”.
I applaud the efforts taken by the media of both countries to bridge the gap between the two countries through the concept of Aman ki Asha. If music and poetry cannot heal hearts, nothing will as politicians will always be viewed with suspicion.
You felt weak but you made that connection with your Father. All this treasure he has left behind…Dr Harivansh Rai Bachchan’s Poetry being recited by his son Dr Amitabh Bachchan..the Doctorate of Arts and all… must be a feast for the eye. Which reminds me of Paris. I am awaiting a response from a friend and keep an open mind for now.
“A love that knows about the brand…” as far as I am concerned I would be happy to refer to you as just human…the one with some magical powers to captivate millions. Just how do you do it?
Love,
Daksha
Dearest Brother
Sadar Charan Sparsh
I think the way you have read the works of Gulzaar sahab as a theme for Aman Ki Asha is quite extraordinary.. maybe better than the musical version of the same.. no, no, I am not here to compare.. You are good as well as they are also good.. yet the subject appeals more when you speak.. you are a force..
I also got to see some negative videos on youtube.. IGNORE.. that is the right thing to do.. when someone tries something good.. the first reaction of people is to resist, retaliate and ridicule yet one day when the seed that has been sown bears fruits it would be indeed one of the most fortunate day in history of two countries..
I would not mind taking part in such programs myself.. I am with you and yet I have to be apolitical.. I am definitely looking forward to find something very important strp in your career.. who could be a better proponet of peace for two countries than you who draws his genes from both the lands in the form of Dr. Harivansh Rai Bachchan of Allahabad and Shrimati Teji Bachchan nee Suri of Lahore..
Those who try to paint the wall with red would not look beyond what they want to see.. yet the ones who thrive on hope of peace on either side of the broder would always welcome your steps infinitely.. let us give peace a chance for a while.. let us unite the two folks like they were before the Independence of this country into two states.. if East and West germany can reunify why should not India and Pakistan do the same..
I also saw a couple of very positive videsos from the other side.. We have always been more tolerant and let us not get into minor issues even the political scape of the problem.. let us just try to reignite that fore of brother hood.. May I request ilip Sahab to come on stage one day and sing that beautiful ( or even read if he wishes) for Aman Ki Asha ..
Insaan ka insaan se ho bhaaichara
yahi paighaam hamara
yahi paighaam hamaara…
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Z_dSowLOgs
Some day if I am capable of composing few lines for the reunification of the two countries I shall consider myself fortunate enough.. yet I know my limitations.. at best can only abstain watching IPL 3 if Pakistani players are not allowed to take part in the saga.. and I stick to my words.. atleast I would not watch the IPL 3 if atleast one player is not picked in one of the teams.. though I woud want atleast 10 or more players to be part of the teams.. There is nothing wrong with the ball tampering incident.. it does not count more than a stray incident and Afridi bhaai has already been punished for it..
Love the Aman Ki Asha concept..
Abhaya Sharma
PS Somehow you look very attractive and highly magnetic in the promtional prop-up for Aman Ki asha ..

Respected Sir
Words are inadequate to share the experience which I had yesterday at Aman Ki Asha, Bandra Fort. There were many dreams which came true in that one evening. Every time I read Madhushala or other poems I used to think will I ever get a chance to attend a programme to hear the same in your voice. To hear those thought provoking powerful poems in your voice, full of love and respect, was really an unbelievable and unforgettable experience. Apart from the beautiful recitation and meaning of the poems there was lot that you gave all of us yesterday evening. In short a realsiation of respect and love for each other we need to carry with us and leave when we go from this earth. I consider my self very fortunate that God has given me the ability to read Late Shri Harivansh Rai Bachchanji poems which though may be written in different context gives “life a hope” even today. Any amount of thanks would be less for Late Shri Harivansh Rai Bachchanji for giving each one of us such rich wealth of thought provoking poetries. An assurance of extending love and respect for all in all circumstances is the way I would like to extend my gratitude.
Sir
I am from Kerala now in North India. I am having a request to you, I don’t have any other medium to reach you except this blog so i am apologising for this. In world film industry there is much value for your words ( I am not praising you for my benefits because it’s a truth that you also knows ). Sir i request you to kindly recommend me in your upcoming Malayalam movie THAT ALSO IF I WILL DESERVE FOR THAT OTHERWISE IGNORE ME. I tried a lot and will keep trying…help me to get a platform for proving myself.
Dear Tehreen,
I have just read your comment. Extremely well written!

amitabh sir ,
whats happen
Dear Amitji,
Well a majority of the people love and admire you for who you are and this bit of information Im sure is not news to you anymore. One of the recent news that made me write to you is about your association with Modi as a nambassador of Guj. Tourism.
Personlly, myself along with millions all over the world appreciate what he has been doing in Gujarat, but can we ever forget the genocide that he unleashed in Gujarat?? This shows the true person behind the smiling face and folded hands that is normally depicted when showing him.
I dont what was your reason for this association whether it was politically motivated or financial but nevertheless we never expected this association. We always appreciated you for diplomacy and non controvercial and dignified approach that you always exhibited and I sincerely hope you will be cherished forever as the respect that you have earned is not fritted away by some silly actions.
I really dont know if this was the right forum to express this view but I dont see any harm either. I only hope you do read it. I am a much younger person than you but eversince we read this news it has bothered many and I just thought of putting it across to you.
Regards,
Roy

You made my post more interesting by equating ”his women ” to harem .
My ”his women” referred to his favourites on the Blog and nothing else.
In case you prefer to call it ”harem” it sounds so sweet and a bit mischievous.
Any comments Valorie?
Dear Zainab..
Thank you so much for dedicating this song to all of us… i am not interested in the movie as well.. i am not a fan of SRK.. and it is really so frustrated to see adds for a Hindi movie in the Egyptian cinemas after more than 2 decades.. and this movie is ” My name is Khan “.. not AB’s movie… i just wished if it was PAA or RANN.. or Teen Patti .. we are deprived from watching AB on big screens.. and it was just a disappointed to see that another Indian actor’s movie is screened while Egyptian die hard fans of AB are deprived from such a delight… !!
It has been quite a long time since i greeted the dear friends whom i am honored to know through this respected medium…

Dear Mr Bachchan
Thanks again for excellent blog. AS fmxt I would like to provide my feedack on your recent blog.
Most of us have grown up watching your movies so naturally there is certain amount of curiousity on the stories/experience related to those block busters.
I would be more keen to read more on 70s/80 s .See today even a great film like RAAN failed to make any impact as current audience is more interested in films like 3 I/MNIK etc.
It woudl be great if you can chare your experience on movies like Lawaris Zurmana Bemisaal ..SOme time blogs sounds too philiosophical ,I am not a fan of amir khan but i do appreciate his writing styles when you read you feel as if you are talking to him..
we don’t expect everyday update but it should have some great contents whatever might be the frequencyof update
Thanks
Praveen

Hi Mr. Bachchan
The most enchanting evening of my life. That’s how I would like to describe my experience of your poetry recitation at “Aman ki Asha” concert .
But it all began as a roller coaster ride for me. I casually smsed for a complimentary pass as per an ad in TOI on sun night. On Monday afternoon, I got a msg that I can collect my pass by 4pm. But I had to leave the office for the rest of the day, the only way out was to lie, which I did. But somehow couldn’t leave till 3 pm bcoz the client was bang on time at 2pm
There was no way that I could make it to Fort(TOI) from Royal Palms (Goregaon) by 4pm. I managed to reach only by 4:25 pm. I was told the time is over. All hopes crashed !
I was crestfallen, I lied, reached late & I missed the only opportunity of my life to watch u perform live. Still, I rushed to Bandra Fort hoping that someone might have an extra pass.
On reaching there I made some failed attempts, but one kind soul gave me a pass. That was my passport to see u perform !!
Once again hopes rekindled, & with pride I entered the gates.
It was my first experience at a poetry recitation, which I shall cherish for the rest of my life. The stage , the ambience, the mood everything was poetry by itself. The recitation by Zia Moyeddin was beautiful, though I must confess that I am not at all well versed in Urdu apart from some odd Pak Tv plays that I have seen. So , most of the meaning went over my head. But I loved the rythmn of the words that flowed.Urdu by itself is a kind of language which has a sweetness, u don’t understand but u love listening to it.
Finally you came on stage, after being lovingly introduced by Jaya ji,the moment u entered till the time you left the stage, it was completely mesmerizing, I just stood still. The only other sound that I heard
was that of the waves when u took a pause. Each one of the poems that u recited were known to me but I was spellbound by the fact that I was actually watching you perform LIVE !
The strength of the voice, each & very emotion that was conveyed made the moment intoxicating. Your Father’s soul must be surely at peace & content. One more thing that kept me surprised was that even though the writing were
50 yrs old at least but they still have the significance, relevance & impact as they must have had when they were penned.
I would sum up my experience by saying that yesterday evening I finally found my MADHUSHALA …
Take care
Love & regards
Anu Verma
Hello Bachan sir how are you
Abhishek sir kaise ho?
all of here please visit the site: http://www.indianvision.co.cc
Good evening my dearest Mr Bachchan,
Hope the events of your schedule permit you to remain as refreshed and revitalized as at the dawning of a new day.
The news is overflowing with reports of this enchanting evening of lyrical magic historically fusing the mastery of ‘the’ two legendary poets of the east, under this red draped tent like venue full of still more eastern promise. A sensory banquet for eyes and ears apparently. And evidently the outcome of the initiative has melted the hearts of all involved. Its no surprise that you have been an integral cog in yet another national, historic venture!
Choosing appropriate gems from your fathers abundant treasure chest of works must have been exhausting in itself!! Madhushala, is a universal beloved best; yet there are so many delightful little, lesser known poems that I so much prefer at times. ‘Kya Karoon Samvednayein Lekar Tumhari’ is an utterly tear jerking and mesmerising little beauty that springs to mind and ‘Jo beet gai so Bat gai’, leaves the reader feeling both enlivened and profoundly satiated with wisdom. Pulses, heart rates soaring off the richter scale, the reader, moi, hyperventilating and that’s all before your baritone voice kisses the words with a new lease of life! I am still prowling the depths of cyberspace for clips which have been placating me until June and I shall find them.
But, yes language can be problematic with poetry. Pure Urdu is impossibly difficult and Hindi too in purest form poses problems for me being used to the colloquial form spoken nowadays, which seems to borrow from elements of both and at times. Languages inevitably become diluted with time, but it’s a pity we compromise their beauty within the evolution.
No compromises on your appearance though, I have to say you looked lovely in your red Kurta which offset the hues and natural luminescence in your face so incredibly well. Not a hint of fatigue or weakness to speak of; you really must share your secret sometime.
I may well return shortly, I’ve taken a mini break from a meeting I’m still in. Take care my very sweet Mr Bachchan, wishing you a lovely, restful evening. Am I deliriously optimistic to hope your day has been free of activity…
Love and much more,
Jasmine

Dear Amitji, Good Evening. A few days back you got a new mobile. Today once again I spoilt my mobile and perforce will have to buy another one. My mobile metal cover had come out and I tried sticking it with fevi-stick. The extra liquid probably went somewhere and blanked my cell. Tried everything to revive the phone but unable to restart it from its coma.
I have a bad history of spoiling my cell phones time and again. Feeling totally blanked out without any numbers. Somehow salvaged my sim card from the mobile wreckage. Borrowed my wife’s cell and inserted my sim. So waiting for people to call me and then save their numbers. Ofcourse some numbers saved on my sim become a minimum pool of emergency numbers.
Life is so much dependent on mobile phones. I had stored all my comment numbers in the cell. Lost it all besides all my business contacts. This is also a very nice phase where we feel totally cutoff from the world. Besides my own and my son’s cell number I don’t remember any numbers. It is like a brain dead situation. I have to travel out of Pune and inform my client but dont have his details. So till he calls up I keep postponing till I find somehow the numbers.
Meeting very close friends will become essential on some pretext to take down their numbers. Almost asking everyone I meet to give me a miss call so that I can save the number.
Keeping a phone diary has become a thing of the past. The secretary becomes busy tommorrow searching or dialling numbers on my behalf from office diary of contacts. It is a very funny situation and a great record of sorts. I have never transferred my living cell till date always the dead one got replaced. Every dead cell phone has a story of its death. The last one was lost talking to a school mate for 40minutes during morning walk not realising the sweat has gone in the cell and created a piculiar jumping number fault. Even the Nokia service centre failed to restore my phone to its glory. The moment I went in an A/C condition it would play truant because the vapour would condense.
Life has become so much dependent on cell phone that I am feeling one way silenced. Waiting for calls that refuse to come.
All followups will have to be preferably delegated. I don’t have a face to tell the cell service centre what I did. My 5/- investment in self repairing of phone has resulted in atleast a 3000times loss. My wife named me Neem Hakim in the evening after I came home. My daughter pointed out what kind of engineer are you dad? Ofcourse my son has yet to come home and I know what will be his vocabulary for my misadventure. He will say: Dad you deserve a Parle-G. Now what does that mean-it is the cheapest phone model which can be used and thrown without pinch.
Life needs suitable backups especially like an extra spectecles one should have a cell phone fully charged up with all numbers of importance. So many people will now get eliminated from my life for months till I bump in to them. It is a nice miserable feeling and really the technology ruling us. Handicapped without the cell and feeling deprived of modernity.
My sincere regards to those who can still manage their lives without using cell phones. I was also one of them for a longtime till the call rates and sms’s became dirt cheap. A man who used to hide his cell in spectacle case has become a victim of his dependency. Hope to recover soon from my loss and become normal.

Dear Sir
I have seen Zanjeer of the Indian Airlines flight from Delhi to Chennai. (This is not the first time i have seen it). It was nice to see Jayaji in the movie, Young and Cute. I think both of you should watch the movie together (thouse endearing scenes with both of you) atleast once in a day.
Both of you should also make it a point to go together for 2-3 days every month to different parts of the country. It will help the place, and the people and we too and you too.
Regards
Deepu
Dear Amitji, Good Evening. My son just revived my cell phone. He posed a very valid question: If I would have done this to my cell then you would have deprived me for one year any new cell purchase!!!
The best part is nail polish remover could clean all the damages and the cell works with many conditions.1) It cannot be switched off.2) Its battery cannot be drained fully otherwise I have to take help of my son to switch on the phone.3) I will have to buy a new one and he will add this to his phones archive.4) Next time I will use judiciously and not drop my phone.5) I will use hands free while using phone during morning walks.6) I will not talk to my schoolmates for longtime. And many more terms of usage…
All is well that ends well. Next time no fevi-quick but something else to be used. Most importantly I get a new phone and certainly a better upgrade.
My regards to modern day kids who can fix gadgets better than us.

Dear Mr. Bachchan
I am disppointed with your association with the project “Aman Ki Asha” especially since you are an inspiration for all and a global icon. 26/11 was an act of war. The government whom the people of Pakistan have voted to power is indulging in unprovoked acts of violence in India. There is proof that terrorism is state sponsored.
Who dosen’t want peace? India has always talked about peace and propogated peace and what has India got in return? The government elected by the people of Pakistan continues to push Islamic terrorists in to India to kill innocent women, children and destroy our economy by pushing in fake currency.
Currently the terrorists behind 26/11 are freely roaming in Pakistan-palnning more attacks sponsored by the state. The least India can do to respect 26/11 victims is to cut off all ties with our notorious neighbour until we reduce the probablility of another terrorist attac k by atleast 10%.
In my humble opinion, it is extremely insensitive and disrespectful to 26/11 victims to have any relationship with Pakistan until justice is done.If only you knew the pain of a person who lost his/her children to ruthless pakistani terror attack–you could have reconsidered doing the “Aman ki Asha ” and shared stage with a pakistani.
Only one person in Bollywood has stood up and openly shared his views without indulging in diplomacy–ABHIJEET. He shared his frank opinion and stood up for 26/11 vicitms. When there are so many Indian actors, singers and cricters languishing in ranks–why the hell does Indian film Industry seek artistes/sportsmen from a enemy country? The other celeb who stood up was Sachin Tendulkar-during Kargil war when he said we should not play Pakistan.
I sincerely hope you shift away from this project atleast till the time the govt takes some encouraging steps against the terrorist currently roaming freely in Pakistan.
Looking forward to your comments/response.
Best wishes and regards

Thank you for writing that wonderful comment and for sharing your thoughts on last nights poetry reading by Mr. Bachchan! I am unbelievably happy for you that you were able to attend!!! After reading your comment, I feel as if I was also lucky enough to have been in that audience with you…SO HAPPY FOR YOU!
Dear Amitji,
I am biiiigggggggggg fffffffffffffaaaaaaaaaaannnnnn of yours. But now I think you are doing so many things & some of them could be unwanted. Doing unwanted tasks can tire the mind so soon. you should think of slowing a bit so that you could further your long innings. Like they say - Everyone is busy, but what are you busy with?? Busy Doing for others OR for yourself.

Abhishek as Bingo’s host is worth a treat. The twin treat was the 1st episode with your esteemed presence with a kid’s joy reflecting on your face for a win.
Aman ki Aasha is an event which should now be taken ahead with quick moves to bring about total peace in the total region.
hi amit paa

Aman ki Asha is fabulous, and your voice anything is a treat
I trust you are feeling better now?
The emotional upheaval inside and around one, do take their toll.

Y’day I watched a part of “The White Balloon”, So simple, so beautiful.
Restores faith in the rhythm of life.

dada,
aap allahabad kyo nahi aate, kabhi to aiye na jisse hum log bhi apko dekh sake
Dear Mr. Bachchan
I always admired you as an actor ( Earlier films till mid 80’s). Liked your natural performances then-Mili, Abhimaan, Namak Haram, Benaam, Do Anjaane, Majboor, Zanjeer, Manzil, Kabhie Kabhie, etc
As an Indian, am disappointed with your love for our enemy country and its residents. Victims of 26/11 have not yet got justice. Terrorists are openly declaring Jihad against India on the streets of Lahore. This Government elected by the Pakistanis is pushing in infiltrators and conniving with China to propogate terror.
How ever I understand your predicament-you do not want to lose out on your fan base even if it means disrespecting fellow Indians by not standing up for justice.
You stood up for Indians when you refused the doctorate. This made news and made the Australian government take notice. Why then, when it mattered most did you accept the Aman peace project. I now realize and so have many Indians that when it comes to money, fame one can get compromised.
I sincerely hope you take a poll on this on your blog and most of the Indians wil want you to quit the Aman peac e project with the terrorist country Pakistan.
I know as usual this “irrelevant” comment on the blog will not get any response. However for the sake of 26/11 vicitms , I will continue to post comments on your blog and other websites to garner support against having any assosication with Pakistan whatsoever. pLEASE LET US NOT TALK TO TERRORISTS
