What is it in humans that builds tolerance. Which section of our complicated brain tells us when our resistance is about to break. When do we develop inside us the value of perseverance. I believe we all possess small but significant amounts of each - tolerance, resistance, perseverance. Where we falter is when and how to use them !!
Ha ! Ha ! So before the brickbats come my way for another inconsequential sounding, philosophical post for today, may I be permitted to ‘clean up’ the air by stating that the reference to the context is in reference to what one can safely refer as a referendum. The consequences of inconsequential banter shall eventually turn up to be devoid of any consequence. And thus as a consequence we often get referred to referendums that bear no consequence what soever to what one may wish to refer to.
Quite simply, we eventually land up being consequentially vague and without any coherence.
Welcome to the world of Amitabh droned- out- in- nonexistent- stupidity Bachchan !! Madness of some order can be attributed to conditions where there is little or none. Order, I mean. And decidedly there was none today.
436 interviews in the spate of one day starting 12 noon and ending a short while ago ! 436 is metaphorical, ‘12 noon to now’ is not. It is an actors workshop - the art of handling the media. Vidhu Vinod Chopra called in the morning inviting me over for a chat, on his salubrious terrace, in an aesthetically designed home. His wife Anupama, and one that does film reviews on the electronic, had just reprimanded him towards behavior to the media. At a ‘3idiots’ press conference that took a slant on the Chetan Bhagat novel and the rights that needed to be covered, Vinod had lost his cool and asked in fairly strong voice for the journalist to’ shut up’ ! This had caused umbrage and resentment among the fourth estate, who did not hesitate to shut him down instead. She was drawing his attention to the fact that for a question that came my way during the reading of the latest Filmfare, when told to comment on Naseeruddin Shah’s remark on how I had become a victim of my star hood and forgotten how to act. That he had preferred me in my earlier ventures due to the simplicity of playing characters who were closer to the earth, to which I had replied that when an actor of Naseeruddin’s stature speaks, you just listen head down and quietly with your hands behind your back.
This Anupama felt was a genuine manner in which an individual should behave with the media. And she was wishing Vinod would follow suit. We broke our backs laughing on this !!
But coming back to the refurbished Novotel Hotel previously the Holiday Inn and that one single conference hall, where the 436 media sat anxiously for their turn to turn up, I must have to admit, rather immodestly that I was able to accomplish this feat which really was headed towards severe consequences. Our most accomplished performances come when we meet the media in quick succession on an issue that has no novelty - the promotion of a film. The questions are the same, the replies are the same, just the facial expressions change. And of course the interviewer !!
Promoting RANN, a media based film to the media was never going to be an easy task. They all live in apprehension towards its content and intent. Ha ! Nice usage of words eh ! Yes, so not an easy task at all. But there is nothing in the world that cannot be resolved with a broad smile. And now … my cheeks ache because there has been an excess of it !! My back too is now in revolt. Different chairs, different postures for different one-on-ones has done it in.
Tonight !! ha ha …
Another pain killer !! And may God have mercy on my liver, already eaten up by the Australian antigen virus, that attacked my insides through contaminated blood, transfused into my system during the Coolie accident, through one of the donors that contributed to the 60 bottles of the ‘red stuff’ that my comatose body urgently required.
Tomorrow … BINGO !! with the Colors team and Abhishek. His first TV appearance and his first episode on this game show. Thereafter straight into Film City to record an item on stage for TV and for the benefit of our Cine Artists Association. They wish to build their own individual office and are in the process of collecting funds to be able to do that. And then on to the first look of the film - Rann !!
The head throbs. The nose sniffles. The back beckons. The eyes blur and the bed invites.
INDIA WON !!
My love to those that give me so much in abundance …
Amitabh Bachchan

All the best to abhishek for his new TV show. Ofcourse i hope its an instant hit all over the country. And how do you deal with so much of media persons its simply astounding…..

Hey Mr B!
WOW such a busy day for you as always! I watched your interview on NDTV today with Barkha Dutt, I love the way you answered the questions posed to you and I have to say that you were looking fantastic! Can’t wait to see Abhishek on Bingo, I am sure he will be an awesome host and I think he is looking so totally cute these days! Really looking forward to your forthcoming releases, especially Teen Patti, I loved the first trailer. I was watching Mr Natwarlal after quite a while and enjoyed it just as much as when i watched it for the first time, guess that’s what makes you and your films so special.
Take care
love you so so so much

Dear AmitJi,
Another nice, motivational blog
Tolerance, resistance, perseverance………indeed great virtues if we practice them in our daily life…………we often falter though!
I’m interested to watch “Rann” ……….I liked most of RGV s films , he’s a talented director but at times I feel he mocks the whole society or shall i say the system? His “Ramgopal Verma ki Aag” ……….I still feel maybe he wanted to mock the Sippy’s cause they were hell bent in preventing him from making a remake of Sholay! How painful it was to watch the film………..but the promos of “Rann” promise something else……….you look so dignified & i think it would be an engrossing movie like “Satya” or “Company” or “Sarkarraj”!
Please take good care of your health.
My best wishes to Abhishek for “Bingo”……….the promos are funny, I think the show would become a hit.
Goodnight
Thanks & Regards,
Manashi
Hello Amit ji,

Eagerly waiting for a yellow line from you Sir. I know you are very busy, but.. can’t help hoping to see one.

Hello Sir, I Respect you and reviewing your all messages.
Dear Mr. Bachchan
So I revealed my short comings to the EF for no reason, just for an inconsequential banter….no fair. Do you hear me crying…lol. Everything has a reason and for me, my prayers today went up with a more sincere note to change myself and hopefully it will work. My next social gathering is February 26th where I will be tempted to gossip and I will know for sure if my conscience and character are in sync…
Glad to see the jovial Mr. Bachchan back….coming to Mr. Naseerudhin shah’s comments…did you ever dwell on it? I always felt it was true with the person who is very dear to me…do not mistake me…he is a great actor but when acting becomes so natural I think sometimes, it stops to be ‘acting’ and on screen it comes across different. I always wanted to sit and discuss this issue with him, may be during my next trip…anyways…have a good night
Lakshmi
Another hectic day in the offing to morrow.
Amitji don’t you find this monotonous?
This has become a sort of routine for you and the media. before the release of your film.
Shooting for Bingo–visit to Film City—First screening of ”Rann’.etc etc.
It requires extraordinary stamina and patience to attend to so many tasks in a day
Have a nice day tomorrow.

My big brother has arrived today to Israel from Australia ..he lives there in Sydney.
He brought me Indian candies , RASGOLA and also Amitabh’s movies.

The media has and always will have an agenda that must satisfy the hunger for an audience to get news that although has no relationship to them it allows them co exist with you in a symbolic relationship.
It allows them to live the life without all the real life experience that you go through. Tv and film as Ram Gopal Varma described is a MONSTER living in our houses is as true as it can be described and we have yet to learn hoe to tame it.
It is irrelevant where you live or what your circumstances are or which profession you represent, if the headlines grabs the mind of the audience then it will be told in that manner.
You have dealt with the media for 40 years and today you still have to try and stay ahead of the storyline and work as hard as possible to ensure that fair play wins the day.
All the best with Rann look forward to seeing you at your best as usual.
Dear Amitji,
Hello Amitji…great post as ever ..and brings smile on my stressed out day…yesterday too missed your post and read and really glad to read it ..and also happy to see early post from you….
Here lot of problem with net and today it was not working the whole day..started at around 6.00 p.m ghana time….so was checking your previous post and suddenly seeing your new post… that got smile on my face….
Amitji upset due to my own mistake…but it happens as we are humans but i do regret for it…. anyway more later..
bye …
love adi..
P.S - Hello to Amitabh Ziibbuji , Neha Shriastav and special Hi to Zainab….
P.S - ALL THE BEST TO ABHISHEK FOR BINGO AND TO YOU FOR RANN wishing you in advance as may be will not be able to read your blog for few days due to some busy schedule…and hope Rann movie releases in Ghana ( West Africa)
Hello, my Dearest Mr. Bachchan…So…it’s ‘tolerance’ today is it? Okay,
I’m game…I’ll be back shortly with thoughts on the subject…no guarentee,
however, that they will be my own…ha!
I send you my love in abundance…with abandon… Valorie
Oh, my dearest Mr Bahchcan I’m very sorry you are under the weather. When you mentioned the nasal sniffles the other day I did hope it may not develop into a virus, and I did advise you to wrap up! You become susceptible to colds when you drain yourself of energy with this frequent flying and manic working. It sounds like an all over chill.
Please take care with these pain killers they are basically pointless. For the cold at least please try to consume extra fluids, lemon and honey with fresh ginger in hot water will make you perspire profusely and rid you of the nasty germs. It’s truly frightening to think of the amount of work you have undertaken in spite of this - quite why you punish yourself in this way I will never truly comprehend.
Delighted to note the chipper tone though, incongruously a gruelling schedule to occupy your boundless mental energy truly seems to induce this positive effect!!
And my dearest dear Mr Bachchan, of course you never write anything inconsequential, I am at times at a loss as to how to respond most conductively.
Only finding opportunity to open the blog properly now, quite a lot of new year pressure at work that I simply could not absolve myself on this occasion! But I just had to send my warmest get well wishes for the moment and wish you a blissfuly peaceful and restorative night. Hopefully you will sleep off the worst of it, the night is still young.
Please do rest well and I know you will feel brighter in the morrow.
Back soon. Thinking of you and willing you well. Goodnight and sweet dreams sweet Mr Bachchan.
My love, affection & care in abundance,
Jasmine
xx
Hello Sir
Who so ever said that your philosophical blogs are not good..Its very good and it gives us a chance to think about something which in a normal course of the day we would not do it..Now with respect to Naseer’s comments about u..Partly true when you did movies like Toofan Jadugar GJS and Mritydaata…otherwise its been nothing short of phenomenal..and i guess in 40 years there is bound to be a dip somewhere even for the best and you are the best..I can attribute the same argument for Naseer himself when he did oh so many of those stupid movies and I am sure he did it some just for money so in a way he did the same mistakes…He is a great actor no doubt but he is not very versatile like i cant imagine him playing the charcter you played in Namak Halal and be funny..
All the very best to Abhi for Bingo..Hope u take care of your health…
Regards
Ram
happy.
love.
g’nite.
I am all smiles after reading your post today…your ability to do this is just too good!!!!
Waiting for BINGO,

All the best to dashing Abhi……..Bingo will rock..
Good Night have a sound sleep and sweet dreams
Love U as always and a kiss on your forehead
Hi there,
I saw your tour of star news a couple of days ago. I think it was an excellent PR exercise for the film! It was also wonderful to see the actual workings of a news station. As viewers we never see what’s behind the camera so it was fascinating to see what actually happens between takes.
Also, I was wondering if you had information on your movie Johnny Mastana. You’ve said in interviews that it is ready for release yet I have not heard or seen anything about its release date. It seems like an interesting story so I wanted to know if it is releasing anytime soon. I am also looking forward to both Teen Paati and Rann!! Both movies seem so intense and soo different!!
And of course I want to share the group that I started called “HELP MEHVEEN MEET AMITABH”, which about 240 people have joined urging you to meet me!! I figured that I have loved you for 5 years out of my 20 years of existence and I need to take measures to meet you and I hope this will do the trick! I am going to post this group (hopefuly as it grows larger and larger) everyday on your blog until you somehow contact me, either via email, webcam, phone, so we can arrange to meet!
So here is the link, I hope you’ll take 2 minutes out of your busy day to look at it!
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=174943739550&ref=ts
I wholeheartedly wish with every fiber of my being that I could meet you. I keep watching interviews with you on bollywood hungama, cnn-ibn, etc. and I can barely stop myself from buying a ticket to Mumbai and camping outside of your house.
I really want to know how you stand being so damn gorgeous. I mean do you know how gorgeous you are? I hope one day that I can see you in person because I know someone who saw you in real life and she said you look better in person and that just flabbergasts me. I mean if you are so gorgeous on screen, then people who see you in person are probably blinded by your gorgeousness! I was watching some of your performances and I literally was dumbfounded by your amazing gorgeousness!
Ok well I hope you click on the link and make my dream come true!!
Hope I get a response!
Love you lots and lots and lots,
Mehveen
USA
ps. I love you and like I said you are simply gorgeous!
Hello Sir;
The thing I admire about you is what you are other than your star status… The ‘Star’ Amitabh Bachchan is very very small compared to the next door Amitabh Bachchan. Such a great response for Naseeruddin Shah’s comment.
Wow… did you receive any kind of formal training for this? Or I guess the blood and sweat teaches you all…..
Awesome please keep guiding.
Sameer
Amitabhji don’t you think you are over-straining yourself. At your age you should slow down your tempo a bit in order to be fit and fine.
At least have proper rest. A minimum of 6 to 7 hours sleep is must for you as you have long way to go.
You have already been honoured with 15 LIFE TIME Achievement awards when you are as busy and active as any young actor.
You are expected to be busy throughout the year as more honors are waiting for you post the release of ”paa”.
The ABCL Corporation has not decided so far about its next venture in film production as per statement in press.
By the way could you go through all the responses of FmXt the previous day.?
As all responses sound similar in content and form you will be bored to read them.
Have a great day tomorrow.
sir. nothing for Haiti’s survivors and who lost their lives ???

First of all, I’m so sorry to hear about your liver condition. I had never heard about that.
And of course it disturbs me to hear about your back pain and more pain killers needed for that.
Congratulations on handling all those ‘436′ interviews. You have turned it into a science but as you said, a film about the media introduces extra difficulties.
I think you have a very significant amount of tolerance, perseverance and resistance-more than most humans!
Good luck to Abhishek with BINGO. I know you are the first guest so it will be extra special. I can’t wait to see it on Youtube. Good luck with the item for Film City and for the first look of RANN.
I hope your head, nose, back, and eyes feel better with some rest. I might as well just say I hope your whole body feels better tomorrow.
Love,
Rochelle
hello sir,
how are you?
kindly do take care of your health
Yet another great post in blog……
best of luck to abhishek for BINGO

Good Night! Good luck for Bingo.
Dearest uncle,
Hope you are in the best of your spirits…..
First of all congratulations for all the awards that PAA has taken at the very beginning of this year. And I am sure there are many more to come by the way Mr.Bachchan……
And yes,it was really pleasurable to hear your say on Geo and star tv channels about the peace initiative ‘Aman ki asha’.
Saw you on Star news recently where you had gone for the promotion of Rann.I just couldn’t take my eyes off you for even a second. You look so charming and graceful,I don’t have words to express what it felt like seeing you…..
Now,I have one request. Please read my letter which was about you,in Khaleej times(Dec 9).But due to some technical problems with the site I cant get you to the link now.But please you will have to assure me you would read it when I get the link.It will only take two minutes off your busy schedule.I am trying from the same date to get your attention to it but couldn’t.And last time when I got your reply, there was no link in my comment
Take care uncle
Good night

Amit ji you are great ..
Dear Amitabh ji,
THIS vidhu vinod chopra team have unnecessarily created fuss with very talented and prolific writer CHETAN BHAGAT.They, including, aamir khan have admitted that they took the story idea from his novel but unfortunately but tactfully failed to give chetan the due acknowledgement /money .story has been picked up completely from the book. But it is sad that instead of giving due respects to the author of the novel, they are rebuking not only the author but also the media who have questioned them.
sir, donot worry abt your liver——–it is still SOLID ROCK.Also, do not worry abt that one bottle of contaminated red stuff.Remaining 59 bottles have been more usefull/powerfull as they came from all corners of india WITH BEST WISHES OF MILLIONS .

Oh, my Dear…While responding to today’s post, I shall have to begin…at the end…’sniffles, head throbbing, back aching???’…Please take care of yourself…
for me…and everyone else who loves you so dearly. Be careful of the ‘pain killers’…do not take them on an empty stomach…I often worry about my own liver turning into a gelatinous mass due to all the ‘ALEVE’ that I eat trying to sooth aches and pains…So just be careful…That’s all I’ll say, because I KNOW you are going to get MUCH more of it in tonight’s responses…and you deserve every bit of it.
I am very glad to know that SOMEBODY’S TEAM, SOMEwhere has won…my beloved Texas Longhorns lost the National Championship Game on Jan. 7th and this past Sunday afternoon my beloved Dallas Cowboys lost their game thus ending their season as well…at least they made it to the ‘Playoff’s’…but now I have no reason to watch football anymore since neither of my teams will be playing again until next fall. I shall live vicariously through you and enjoy India’s ‘WIN’ with you.
Wow…436 interviews…no wonder your cheeks are aching…ALL of them…
What you said in response to N. Shah’s observation was MAGNIFICENT!
That is the way a wise man handles such a situation. Now, you have succeeded in proving you are the gentle, thoughtful and humble human being we all know you are…as well as making him feel like the HEEL that he IS for having said such a RUDE thing as that… Well done, my Dear. Bravo.
After reading your opening paragraphs, I am thinking that whatever responses I may return here with will be of no consequence…however, I shall resist the urge to let this be my only comment for the night…in fact…I shall perservere and come back even STRONGER so that I might have another moment to bask in the glory of having shared thoughts with you…sharing moments in time together with you…that, my beautiful friend, is the consequence I strive for.
Please find it in your heart to be tolerant of me and my silliness.
Once again, all my love to you, in abundance….. Valorie
My dear Bigb,
Thank you for sharing the nice post.
Congratulation for all Awards and immense success of PAA.
Sir , Best of luck for “Rann”.
Sir ,please give my Best wishes to Abhisekh for Bingo.
I am a big fan of you .I love Auro.
Please take care and sweet dreams.
My love and Respect to you as always.

The Chief Minister of Maharashtra now considers hindi and gujarati also as local languages along with marathi, apparently after having received instructions in this regard from the high command. He now maitains that all persons speaking any of the three aforesaid languages will be eligible for new taxi driving licence.
Why the hell he did not seek instructions from high command before speaking to press the previous day.
The puppet must await the instructions of his master before opening his mouth.
I have to laugh. It s a good thing you didnt take a cricket bat with you to the press conferences. But you came out ’swinging’ anyway. I can imagine unless one had been around the block with those guys before everything would have gone downhill rapidly. They are touchy and maybe rightly so. It is a skill gained over many years and times anywhere from a fencing match to a full scale assault. You deserve a medal for the record? Hopefully by now you are snoring.
Adarniya Shri Amitabh Bachchanji,
I haven’t had much luck in requesting you to slow down your pace and take care of your health, so guess will have to continue with my prayer and wishes. So here you go, Sleep Well and Keep Good Health…
436 interviews WOW!!! Sirji, isn’t there a better way to interact with the media personnels to promote a film when the questions and answers are bound to be the same? So it was the ‘AUSTRALIAN’ antigen virus…. seems the Aussies are behind the Indians since the early 80’s
—Aavjo
PS: I have some personal news to share with you, which I did during yesterday’s post, blog#639, my comment being #30. It would be nice if you could give it a quick glance.

Hey Suri….good job…keep it going…. dead or alive….

All my love as always, Archana Detroit.
Good Morning Sir:
Hats off to you sir on pulling of such a busy schedule.
We finally saw PAA this weekend with my 4.5 year old. He refers to you as “Anitabh Bachchan” and when I was discussing this with my parents, my Mom informed me that I too used to call you the same as a kid. I’m sure you have rec’d a lot of feedback for the movie but there are 2 things that stood out for me:
1. The introduction recital by Mrs. Bachchan was the first I have ever seen, a very nice personal touch.
2. I agree with the couple reviews I’ve read that you did an amazing job with your make-up, voice, etc. but once Auro was introduced I was able to ditach you from him; however very honestly I was more impressed with Abhishek’s performance – his portrayal of a young-honest-open minded politician (perhaps on the lines of Rahul Gandhi) was to the T.
I watched parts of Mahaan with my son (some scenes I couldn’t because of the content) the other day and it was very much another Deja Vu moment for me after seeing the twinkle in his eye. He too was amazed as you were jumping off those heights of the temples in Kathmandu (goli song with the beautiful Zeenat Aman) and the flying taxi song (Haat ja babu nahin to….from Khuddar). He also enjoyed Aladin.
Like most Indian kids, I too grew up on the staple diet of your movies - Sholay, Don, Mahaan, Mr. Natwarlal, Yaraana, Mard, Naseeb, Namakhalal, etc. and the “Kaali Ram Ka Phaat gaya dhol” and “Jahan yeh teri naazar” from Kaalia were my favorite songs.
I can see even my grand-kids being your ardent fans as well :-).
-Vikas.
The acting skipper Sehwag’s comment on Bangladesh team as an ordinary side drew flak from Media.
The entire Media pounced upon Sehwag after dismal performance of Indian side on the first day of the Cittagong Test match
The Media should now make amends and applaud the victory of India under captaincy of Sehwag.
Sehwag has won all matches for India whenever he led the team.

Dear Sir,
Thats a pretty nice way to describe yourself…. or rather your STATE!
“Welcome to the world of Amitabh droned-out-in-nonexistent-stupidity Bachchan !!”
Ha Ha…. or shall we say Haw Haw!
These promos - these interviews with these hundreds of channels - are becoming quite a drone. I don’t think its paying much dividend. You end up devoting so much of your time & energy in these promos, and then these channel wallahs make 2+2=1 and do nothing more than fill up their vacant slots.
What I mean to say is that if these channel guys find some substantial things in a particular movie - which they must in movies like PAA & RANN - then they should walk an extra mile by promoting such ventures in their own voices and be vocal about the merits of the movie.
But I guess its foolishness to expect anything from our journos… All they do is fill-in-the-gaps with mindless chatter. So no point in getting into this topic…
Looking forward to BINGO…. and of course to RANN!
With love & regards,
Rajesh Kejriwal

Great write up, I didnt know about the comment about Nasseruddin Shah, but I have read in other publications that he feels that you get more then you deserve as an actor..but I never understand all this bitterness, I feel you are both great actors in different genres..

Amit Ji,
My first writing to you yesterday night and today morning its second time.
That you started with - by the haemoglobin atmospheric pressure in the country-and moved to Vidhu’s 3 Idiots - the credit must be given to Chetan as well..continued with Naseer’s remark..you and him both are undoubtedly the kings of hindi films and hindia theatre.
May RANN achieve blossom.
Nothing’s gonna be to your liver..you have a strong heredity.
Good Luck to brother Abhishek.
Take rest.
With you always.
Iam great fan of yours. And I read your blog without fail. Also living in Pittsburgh/USA. I just wonder. Please don’t get me wrong. These interviews and press conferences which goes on promoting the films. Do you honestly think these hep in selling the movies.
I don’t know for some reason I think its such a waste by calling these interviews and Press conf. To me the intellectual group and other scientific group gain nothing by such interviews and don;t you think its a waste.
Its just a movie I mean apart from media frenzy people who wants to know the next flick is about its better to spend time reading few good books and going to a library. Plus these days there are reality shows , game shows etc etc but no shows about India’s history , culture, education. etc etc. Its just show biz and show biz. Its so lame.
I just wanted to start a food for thought.
cheers.
Dear Sir,
436 interview….. deserves a plce in Guiness Book of World Records…. Not Bad Idea Sir ji….!
Try it out … but please please please ..take care of your health…..!
RANN will be another feather in yours and RGV cap…..!!
Regards
Hi Mr. B. Sorry to hear about the backache. Have you tried your TENS unit? (trans cutaneous electrical nerve stimulation for the folks who have seen a reference and wondered about it. It is a small battery powered device that transmits small electrical shocks aka pulses by way of electrodes adhered to the skin at appropriate places. The shocks trigger a response by the nerves and muscles to release endorphines to lessen the pain, and supress pain signals to the brain..) They really work well! Hope you have a good rest-of-the-day. Love and admiration, Mary Anne
Sir,
Just watched your interview with Barkha Dutt on NDTV.
It was nice listening to your subtle replies to her questions..but i did not quite understand something you said about the media badgering you for the most part of your public life. sir, you were , are and will be a phenomenon. And everything the media writes about u only brings you closer to people. I know you are 68. But everyone who knows you wants you to be there until he’s 68.
All the best for “Rann”. Hope it becomes a “Ran”away Success.

A piece that appeared on shahrukh’s forthcoming MNIK in TOI a few weeks ago:
http://blogs.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/indus-calling/entry/my-name-is-not-khan
I present this and a response here because it neatly dovetails into many concerns that I’ve expressed here on many matters and also why I continue to believe that your core cinema remains the best model for all those who wish to see India through a Nehruvian prism. My response to the piece:
[SRK’s ‘ambassador for Islam’ statement is one of those typically grandiose claims we have come to expect from him! Wouldn’t take it too seriously. Having said that it seems hard to deny that a major Indian star who has been for some years now explicitly religious as a minority (Aamir or Salman do not engage in this sort of display) is assuredly a good ‘ambassador’ for his faith in an age where the ‘terrorist’ seems to monopolize the representation of the same. Obama has often held himself out as a bridge to the Muslim/Arab world. This does not exactly confirm the right’s hysteria about his ‘un-American leanings’. In fact doesn’t the objection reveal something unwittingly. why does SRK’s statement cancel out his ‘Indianness’ at all? One doesn’t logically follow from the other! If another star had called himself an ambassador for Hindus would anyone have had the same reaction? Of course not! The objection reveals far more than SRK’s statement!
Johar (as I’ve suggested earlier as well) makes his films with one eye always on the overseas audience. But he also betrays a colonized mindset where 9/11 is always ‘cooler’ than 26/11. All of this is not new to Johar. The impulse to do so is akin to the one where films were shot in Switzerland rather than in Himachal pradesh (admitting Kashmir has not been too practical an option for years). when I used to decry this aspect of the yashraj world for years it was for a reason. These are not harmless decisions. These are political ones with natural consequences. A worldview colonized enough to not consider Indian landscapes aesthetically appealing is the very same one that also places ‘Western’ tragedies over Indian ones. Note how even Rakesh Roshan fell prey to this in the otherwise quintessentially Indian KNPH. For the desi Hrithik Roshan’s ‘work’ has to be completed by the ‘NRI’ duplicate. It is only the latter who can perform the ‘cleanup’ and resolve all the threads of this tale. The narrative itself follows an older format but by introducing the NRI into the story codes it somewhat differently.
So Johar is relying as always on an overseas audience for MNIK. Which audience also includes a huge Pakistani contingent. Which contingent will of course relates very much to the themes of MNIK. BUT even this audience is not into SRK and Johar for ‘religious’ considerations. This audience too prefers KKHH and so on as it has shown over the years! Certain themes speak more to certain groups, the corollary is false however. These groups do not have those concerns as defining ones when they select their films.
Johar brings about a rather interesting shift in the history of Raj/Rahul. From the dominant NRI representation of DDLJ to the beleaguered one of MNIK is quite a shift. The issue of terrorism and of course the highlighting of religion allows Johar to perform this shift.
The tragedy of ‘Kauls’ is one that deserves to be discussed at length much as there are other such tragedies in India. But in every society and for all sorts of complicated reasons certain groups become privileged victims in the official hegemonic discourses. Worldwide for instance ‘Jews’ are victims beyond compare. However the privileged victim is still a victim! He (or she) does not lose that history of victimization just because he or she has been privileged. Is it fair that others be ignored? Of course not! But the aim ought to be to highlight those others as opposed to denying the grievances of the privileged set.
The criticism launched in the piece here dovetails neatly with an entire set of arguments the right brings forth in India on every occasion. About the privileging of the Muslim minority. This is largely based on a fictitious, indeed paranoid imagining of the place of the ‘Muslim’ in the Indian state as well as a blotting out of other sites of violence (the lower castes of India would say and do say that Hindu upper caste hegemony is the decisive framework for the contemporary Indian state).but leaving aside the truth of those claims the fact is that the Indian state privileges ‘Muslims’ as victims because the foundations of its secularism depend on this minority. In other words the state can be secular or not to the precise degree that this minority can be as ‘Indian’ as any other. There are certain historical stakes here. In the Nehruvian discourse ‘Pakistan’ is precisely the trauma, a state which insists on the permanent separation of Hindus and Muslims. In the discourse of the right ‘Pakistan’ is the ideal (let’s be honest here!). Exactly what India should have been for its majority. the obscene truth here isn’t that the majority is disenfranchised (the idea that an 87-89% majority is having this done to itself surely beggars belief) but that the majority isn’t allowed to be even more hegemonic than it is!
Has anyone ever asked why 99% of the time and at any point in Bombay film history Muslim actors play Hindu characters? Did anyone object when Shahrukh made a career out of never playing a Muslim? So why does MNIK rankle so much? I have been the first to comment on Johar’s cynicism here. But he’s not the only opportunistic guy around! Accepting all the criticism SRK’s turn here is the exception not the rule. If he is an “ambassador for Islam” he has camouflaged it rather well all these years. Even today, and despite that self-congratulatory statement, he only plays majority characters. Amitabh Bachchan did more minority characters than all the “Khans” of contemporary Bombay cinema put together! So why does only MNIK get highlighted?
Couldn’t one take another view here as well? By selecting 9/11 Johar and SRK actually free themselves of the task of launching any critique against the Indian state which they would have had to do if SRK had played a Muslim suspected of terrorism in India. Because then those ‘interrogations’ would have been staged on Indian soil. The objection might be: why couldn’t Johar represent Shahrukh as a Hindu victim of terrorism in India? For one because he could then not have this narrative of the state harassing the ‘victim’ (this only happens with minorities in India from religious to lower caste ones and so on.. even if the right pretends not to notice). But also Johar too belongs to that ’secular’ framework. we forget that the foundational principles of any serious democracy are not just majority rule but also the guarantee of minority rights. A state should err in the direction of the latter than the former if it has to choose because greater democracy lies this way.]
[As an aside one of the things that annoys me about MNIK is that it perpetuates the very Muslim stereotype it seeks to challenge. Consider the soundtrack. Every song has this ’sufi’ sort of feel to it but even beyond this every song has religious lyrics with references to ‘Allah’ and so forth when there’s absolutely no need. So the ‘good Muslim’ is the guy who listens to ‘Islamic’ music presumably! What next? Islamic cereal?! With Kurbaan we saw that the ‘terrorist’ even spent his free time with his lover at Delhi’s ‘Muslim’ monuments!]
Dear AB,
Need to repeat from previous post as U are accustomed to repeated questions and comment of 436 of those and also taking a clue from “12 noon to now” must have deprived U from taking a glance at our comments.
Is there justice at all? The ancient Greeks talked about it, philosophers have talked about it.That is, someone may be very clever, intelligent, born to wealth, capacity, and able to think clearly, and the quality of beauty in him; and another may never have that quality, capacity to think, to live. So where is there justice? We want justice, we see victims of injustice, victims who are neurotic, victims who are psychopathic, and those who are born to poverty, and struggle, struggle, struggle, for the rest of their life. And those who may be born to riches, have an easy life. Where is justice? You may be extraordinarily clever and I may be very dull. And where is there this quality of mercy, not justice?
In the village, the well is used - by the few and there is violence if the others use it. This has been going on throughout history; those who have and those who have not. And apparently no government, no law, has ever been able to bring about the poor to have the same capacity, same drive, same intelligence. This has been the actual fact in life.
What is corruption? The meaning of that word, the root meaning of that word, it comes from Latin and so on, which means to break up, to tear apart. Which is, corruption exists where there is fragmentation.Corruption must exist where there is fragmentation in human beings. It’s not merely passing money under the table, paying ten dollars or ten rupees or whatever one does for an extra ticket. There is corruption when an educated human being, a lawyer, or engineer, works in… capable, intelligently active in one direction and on the other he is superstitious, goes to temples, takes vows, silly vows. There is this contradiction. This contradiction in oneself, of which most people are unaware, that is also corruption. Probably that is the deepest corruption: exercising reason in one direction and denying totally reason in the other direction, and living in this contradiction. That is corruption. Corruption is to say one thing, and do another, to think one thought and act totally different from that. That is dishonest, that is also corruption. Corruption is to imitate, not in clothes, but to conform to a pattern, so that one is never free.
There is no such thing as equality. It sounds nice on a piece of stone called equality, but there is no equality in the world. So we are always trying to bring about equality which is democracy, apparently. Ninety per cent of the people in India know nothing about anything and they are voting. Where is there justice? So if one could move away from that word altogether and find out whether one is capable of being compassionate: to love, not seek justice. You are tall, I am short, you are bright, and I am not, I am dull, you have everything, I have not, you have health, I am diseased. So should we not look at this question, not from the point of view of justice, but a human being that has no love, no compassion is worse than an animal.
Compassion has its own intelligence, not the intelligence of a clever mind, of a clever brain.
Right is to be precise, accurate, and correct. It must have a sense of harmony. Action is the doing, not having done. Action is taking place now. Not acting according to past memories, past intentions, or acting according to a principle - acting according to a concept, according to a projected opinion.
Now, right action is freedom from the past -and not projecting the future and acting according to the future. But we are so conditioned by tradition, by education, by our own selfish motives, that we translate action according to convenience, according to environmental influence. So is there an action which is totally free from all this. That is right action.Because in that right action there is no regret, no guilt, no sense of fulfilment. It is free from, essentially, the self. That is right action. When there is right action, it is right action under all circumstances, it is right action wherever one is, which doesn’t depend on circumstances. That means one must have tremendous strength, not courage, strength, like a rock, immovable, because that’s right action. Then the question of conscience/past/self/memories doesn’t arise.
As I said a few days ago you’ve made me eat my words many times and Abhishek now looks to be doing the same if the previews of Bingo are any indication. This seems like a fun show!
Hello Sir,
Why have you stopped responding to our comments…It has been ages to see the famed Yellow Band.
One Suggestion - You can use a Voice to text software to respond to the comments. This way you won’t have to type out the hundreds of responses
BTW, plz convey my wishes to Abhishek..May his TV foray rock like his acting career.

The great distinction between the way Manmohan Desai and those of his ilk displayed their secularism and those belonging to Johar’s breed do (I accept the sincerity of each party’s secularism incidentally) is that in the former instance there was an elevated form of ‘humanism’ that enframed the majority and the minorities in films whereas in the latter instance there is a ghettoization principle at play. Desai had his stereotypes for sure but these were very affectionate ones. No one made the veil as much fun as he did! Even as he was stereotyping Muslim polygamy in AAA he was also gently poking fun at it (Mukri and his wives!). No minority was ever offended by a Desai film. But Desai’s minorities did not otherwise behave differently from his majorities. If anything Desai favored the former. Anthony and Akbar are the film’s great personalities while dour Amar is a rather boring chap (of course this does represent the problem of minorities being all about fun and play and the majority being about work and discipline but that’s another matter!)! But these minorities were still very much a part of the social fabric in essential ways. Desai just made their world much more natural for the viewer. So as viewers we all loved Anthony’s Christianity! Today however there is nothing remotely appealing about the portrayals because despite the best of intentions the majority position is more or less adhered to. The minority as he or she would appear through the worst prejudices of the majority. For sure a liberalism is espoused but the minority remains ghettoized. In some ways the Muslim in Kurbaan or MNIK does not seem too removed from the Muslim (gangsters) in RGV’s films (where there is ethnic ghettoization as well). Now some of this certainly reflects India’s political realities over the last 2-3 decades. It is also true that Desai’s worldview was an idealization even in his time but I think it was a useful one. I end this with your own portrayals. You were able to convey the very same truth as a minority character as you were as a majority character. No minority ever took Amitabh Bachchan to be ‘Hindu’. It is the greatest tribute to your portrayals (I do not say ‘performance’ because I do not believe actors can really bring forth such authenticity specially in contexts as charged as Indian ones without somehow ‘being’ that way in their inner lives) that your religious identity never seemed to define your ultimate truth for those audiences. and it’s not that they were somehow naively buying the ‘image’. It is that they saw the ‘truth’ behind the image which as I keep saying is something actors convey on screen far more than one might think. Now whenever I make this point people think I am recoding you as a ‘minority’ type and so forth. Not at all. My point couldn’t be clearer — Amitabh Bachchan is precisely the sign that ‘effaces’ those distinctions.
In the Tamil film Vaaranam Aayiram (Surya), otherwise mediocre, has a rather silly though moving plot twist where the hero loses his lover in the Oklahoma city bombings. I said ‘moving’. In the post 9-11 world rather that go for the obvious WTC destruction Gautham Menon chose this earlier event and hence avoided introducing the figure of the Muslim in a film that did not require it. This is the sort of thought that still goes into films in the South. This is what once happened in Bombay but alas not as much anymore.
The bravest statements in at least two decades (in this context) remain Khakee and Dev. It is fitting that you were at the center of both films. This entire debate of course also highlights my anguish at a recent event that I’ve spoken on at length.
I continue to say what might seem hyperbolic but this is so only because adequate theoretical attention hasn’t been paid to it — the great inheritor of Nehru’s secular mantle in the entire history of post-Independence India, or more precisely the great legatee of this extraordinary vision called ‘Nehruvianism’ remains in the public sphere a signature called ‘Amitabh Bachchan’. an awesome responsibility. One that you might not wish for. But it is a privilege I think to have earned it in life as you have. You only have to make sure that it is not stained by your ‘good intentions’!
Today’s post is jibbery, jabbery but fun to read. Good Luck with your exiting ventures ahead and please take care and do not overdo.
I have just arrived home from work. Going straight to my next office, ( kitchen ) to prepare something quick for My Hubby, so till then Pranams to you, your family and to the FmXt.
I meant exciting!!!!Opps!!!! tired too.
On a different note fantastic to hear that Abhishek and Naseer are coming together for Neeraj Pandey’s film (Special Chabbis). Abhishek seems to have upended you on this score! Even if I find Naseer insufferable in his interviews sometimes, not least when he comments on your work.
Please, take care of itself, dearest Amit ji! Be not ill, receive treatment and convalesce. I always with you. Let my most warmth feelings to you will always to warm you when to you it is bad…
P.S. I am sorry, that could not tell in time on the occasion of a post in Day 639. Therefore a little bit later I shall write to you my comment to this post….
With my sincere affection, warm-heartedness and love to you.

Dear Amitabhji,
What a way & style to keep your FmXt attached. Each day you write such captivating posts, that its hard to miss any. I may find it very difficult to respond on most days, but i cannot miss reading the lines every day.
Dad, who is a perfect business man and my hero in many aspects always says to me that you too are very calculative and have the acumen of a sharp business person, and to some extent mom to shares his views, but we both childrin, me and my sister nandini can never visualize it so. All your writings, interviews and personal meetings convey to me something different. I find that more than business acumen, love of humanity dominates your mind often. Your philosophical post are just magnificient. I just love the way you let your mind travel.
As usual i will now just wait to read the different opinions of our enlightened and brillaint fellow FmXt. My love to all FmXt.
Congratulations on handling all those ‘436′ interviews. Good luck to Abhishek with BINGO and Good Luck to RANN.
with love and regards

Dearest Amit ji,
Namaskar!
You had a real hectic day, I hope you take all the rest required. We have seen the trailer of Rann and it looks very interesting. We love to see you where you play a very central role in the movie.
Love & Respects…
Dearest Mr Bachchan
Sorry, I am thrown into total incoherence when faced with the mention of Australian antigen viruses ravaging your internals… and how in tarnation did they know it was Australian and how the hell did it manage to get all the way to India to wreak havoc on your precious body ….. I am now catatonic with fretting at this remembrance of medical torments past and still continuing…
I am seriously thinking that in future we should find out members of FmXt who are blood-compatible with you, get screened for extreme purity and then ensure that you always travel with a special blood bank of our family donations… despite my terror of needles I would be first in the queue..
I fervently hope that you wake up tomorrow WITHOUT those pesky sniffles, groaning back, and general bear with a sore head feeling… (I diagnose a severe allergy to prolonged contact with a whole ratpack of journalists) and that your eyes are sparkling with anticipation for first sight of RANN…..
Sending you such an abundance of love that even the cats are getting distinctly jealous, Daisy
436 interviews in a span of 24 hours could easily go down in the Guiness Book as a first, I can well imagine your jaws giving way smiling all the way!But then how do manage such a feat is my question to you ?Unbelievable stuff honestly.
Well what a paradox it seems, here Sydney is a melting pot with temperatures soaring to 43degrees and there, in the other part of the world ,its below freezing point, something to ponder upon.Sometimes our minds also take the same form, blow hot blow cold!
Vidhu V. Chopra is a paradox unto himself really interesting character with a unique twist to his persona!Like him for all that anyway, is brilliantly funny!
Anupama’s reviews are good but sometimes over the top too.
So then Mr. B, have a good day and hopefully a happy one too.Regards as always.
Dear Amitji,
Know how you feel, have had the sniffles(or should I say blocked nasal passages) for over a week now and they don’t want to shift!!! (and that’s after having had the winter anti flu and anti swine flu jabs)!!!! Sorry to hear you’re not feeling well. Lots of fluids and vitamin c should get you back on track and of course tender loving care which you have in abundance from all your FMXT,
oh and look after that liver of yours.
Good job done - 436 interviews - only you could manage such a feat!
Lots of love for BINGO for Abhishek. Not long to go now for RANN.
Good night and God Bless
Love and best wishes

Hi Mr B…
Nope..no brickbats coming you way. Just bricks.
Ha…ha.. ha.. ha.. haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!!
Haven’t a clue as to what you’ve written in your blog today…will go back and read it in a jiffy…
Just done reading an article about you being a stickler for time…forever punctual…always 10 mins early…so true! I have never met anyone as punctual as yourself. Don’t know when you get the time to just lay in bed and relax.. Whoooh what a life! Keep it up! I’ve got loads to learn from you.
Love..
Shams
Dear AB,
Feels like really RANN out there promoting RANN.
Nice to know about some light hearted moments with VVC. In your demeanor, the virtues - these and more, make their presence felt a lot. There is more value holding back and counting 1-100 before giving it back. Not everything is worth a fight. Most times letting go keeps the sanity of life intact. How much tolerance one can possess depends a lot on individual traits and situations and surroundings.
But as I have heard, hepatitis does have a lot of toleance and it crawls into our system very slowly. So you be bareful about these pain killers. They don’t go well with such viruses.
Hope you rest well and face new day with renewed energy and abundance of health.

Dear DON,
hope RANN will big hit like PAA.
Dear Amitji,
Naseer Sa’b is simply a genius, a delight for an art connoisseur, a melody that baits even the maestro, a harmony of expressions and acoustic. Agreed! He might have said something (I am not aware of his exact comment). But, i have a feeling, whatever he might have said, would have a purpose. may be, he wants to see more of you, may be he looks up to you, may be he understands your acting prowess more than anybody else out here and hence expects your brilliance to create more unparallels (as if what we already have doesn’t suffice. Well! actually it doesn’t). But then, who doesn’t. We always want the sun to rise and shine…even the twilight (which may be serene and inspiring) is unacceptable.
Of what i have seen you, i admire your humility the most. I am sure Naseer Sa’b will agree to this! :>).
The end of your write up for tonight was sad… and painful…. but one can clearly see the writer in you crawling out. Your pain was poetic and as usual you were weaving the magic…yet again…even while you suffer.
Please take good care of yourself.
Sincerely,
Amit. (I guess i was christened after you)

Dear Amitabh Bachchan,
I am excited that you are going to have a first look of the film “Rann”.. I read in one of your interviews on the net that it has a ‘poetic justice’ at the end .. I like that expression and concept .. To me it does not necessarily mean to have a ‘happy end’, but rather well observed logic and truth and beauty of life presented dramatically throughout the story .. I am really looking forward to this film though again it will turn out to be a very long wait for me : )
But it is ok : )
I am very happy for Abhishek with his new show Bingo on Colors TV and it is great that you are going to be in the episode. May all go well and I wish you to enjoy it..
*
I enjoyed reading your paragraphs on how you have handled media interviews written with such humor : )
It looks like it was quite a battlefield of a day for you and a treatment for pain is quite appropriate.
I am sorry that your poor liver suffered such damage at the time of your accident. There are ways and medications to clean and restore the cells of this organ and strengthen them. So, I hope it is going to be ok for you…
*
“Tolerance, resistance, perseverance” - are a part of our character : ) and come with the high price often …
*
I have to run now to pick up my husband’s car from a repair shop after a routine check up before I run to my work…
I wish you to get much needed rest and to feel better tomorrow..
And I thank you for sending us love …
God bless and take care.
My love and prayers.

Hi Mr Bachan
In the U.K one of the tv stations is currently a series of documentaries on india based on the slums of mumbai, not sure if you have heard or seen any coverage. There coverage is mostly about the slums of mumbai focusing on the children. Seeing this is quite disturbing and makes me realise how lucky i am to have what i have in the U.K. I,m thoughts are to sponser a child or give donations on a regular basis to try and make a difference and help the children who are not as fortunate as others. But one of the main questions going through my head is for many years he children of mumbai seem to be in this unfortunate position, what is the government doing about this ? On programs like this we get to see the streets of mumbai and how the children live & breathe however we do not get to see what action is being taken by the goverment of india. Has anyone else been watching channel 4 ??

Namaskaar Amitji,
Yes…good old tolerance. Most of us have at least some of it.
Beyond tolerance, however, is acceptance, the ability to accept things, people and situations, in spite of how we may feel about them, or how they make us feel.
Now there’s a different spin on tolerance.
Love you lots.

Okay, here am I doing something I swore I would never do, which is be the one millionth person to write you about health remedies…but just in case you didn’t know about it, the herb milk thistle can help the liver heal and regenerate. Use of it (plus a healthy diet) brought my brother back from a life threatening situation when he was suffering from severe liver damage…

I am sorry you are not in the best of health…i hope you are feeling better by now…with God’s grace.
It seemed you had another tight day. Doing all those hundreds of interviews and other tasks has taken a toll on your body, But it’s remarkable doing that amount of interviews.
I would like to wish you all the best for RANN also to Abhishek and Colors team all the best for BINGO!
Please take care…drink lots of water and try to get enough rest.
Thank you for connecting with us even though you are not feeling up to date….you are an exceptional human being.

‘Grin and bear it’ is the apt manifestation for your media jamboree’s and yes, apparently you have honed these skills to a fine art. Ever a picture of serenity, decorum and practised at quick thinking on the outside… but ‘now’ the unfortunate truth is exposed about how you are feeling as a result - and I‘m sorry for it!!
Surely you have dispelled any malaise the media had about the ‘intent’ in Rann for as many times as you and RGV have clarified its ‘pro-media’, conscience questioning, stance. Yes, it must be a true test of your ability to think creatively and elaborate your answers a million times; needless to say, we the public might enjoy a respite from the samey line of questioning too. Never mind, just think this ordeal is almost over. I envisage we shall unveil fresh perspectives and a clearer understanding when the marauding media gets the coveted ‘first look’ after tomorrow and then next Friday! I cannot believe all your films from last year are almost released - how time does fly with you Mr. Bachchan!
As much as I love your philosophical ruminations its lovely to read you as the person, madness and all today and I will save the top of your post until tomorrow. The perception rarely misinterprets though, your tone decidedly demonstrated aggravation yesterday. Just please don’t imagine we only incline to you during happy times; that is untrue and quite unnatural. Be prepared for consternation if you appear despondent, but never feel obliged to feign joy if you are not joyful. That’s all.
You know my age old expressions of consternation over painkillers. They devils drug, especially for pre-existing liver conditions the warnings on the packaging state as much. I simply wish you would consider an alternative, there are plenty of safe effective and convenient ones available now..
Its nearly 6am your time, so the very best of luck for all projects, new. I am sure the Bingo will be the highlight for fans who love the dynamic father, son, son, father relation.
An exciting day awaits on the horizon, its just a shame our beloved wounded solider is riddled with pain in the most unfortunate areas. I sincerely hope nasty throbs, aches and sniffles evaporate like magic and plague you no longer. Lemon and ginger are actually also perfect for detoxifying the liver .. And I know you how partial you are to ‘ cleansing’ and all…
Be well and please take care.
My love & TLC,
Jasmine

Yes Sir!! (Please take attendance; I am present, learning, and interacting with my SIR and other pupil)
Dearest Amitji,
Glad to read your todays blog and regarding my perception of conscience and Character, I would rather say that it is the conscience that makes my character and goes with it. If my conscience does not permit me to behave a certain way. then my character would reflect that way. But also in certain situations may over ride your conscience … and at that point then you may have changed your character. I feel its a constant battle that one fights in everyday life….
Also when you clean up the things, many things will crop up like remembering the past things after looking into a certain things or remembering certain aspect and so on and that point, you need to challenge urself the Conscience or the Character that gets in ur way depending upon your circumstances !!!
Wish Abiji all the best for the new serial Bingo that wil start from today onwards. Also Sarkar, please take care of ur backpain and I am sure you will overcome this pain too !!! Pain sucks but we have to live with it. Everyone in this world lives with pain in some or other form !!!
Without acknowledging my near&dear FmXt, my comments in the blog will be always incomplete and they are - Manish Parmar, Shankar, Archana[Bengaluru], Mousumi, Aishwarya, Vandana Bhatt, Manoj Kumar Ojha, Zainab, Archana Detroit, Pawan Pipalwa, Vijaya, Sanjith, Mukul Bunglore, Valorie Adams, Somanath Misra, Abhaya, Renate, Sharmila, Daisy M, Naresh Bhatt, Jasmine Jaywant, Mrs G.A. Dear Mr. AB,
Very shocking to hear that the Coolie incident even resulted in a Hepatitis virus infection. Blood screenings have improved a lot since then, but I still like Daisy’s suggestion to keep a few bottles of superclean FmXt-red-stuff-special around. I’ll be in the line right behind her!
Seriously, please take good care of yourself. Tomorrow sounds like another super busy day for you.
Love and positive energy for good health,

Dear Lion King,
Aussie viruses are multiplying in rapid succession and no anti bodies are being produced to fight it. Your state of incoherence is as welcoming as your state of coherence, you are more than adequately charming in both states. Thanks for the “clean up” reference, I love to start my day with a bit of sprucing up too.
Will be interesting to watch Abhishek in Bingo. I absolutely love him on twitter, I guess his sense of humor and humility are equally appealing.
Tackling the media needs a feisty spirit and you have it in abundance. I have been enchanted with the spirited Arian Scarlett O’hara. My thoughts on this wonderful character and some cherished dialogues from the movie masterpiece.

I vehemently object. You, sir, are never vague, incoherent.
Now that preceding paragraph, genuinely obfuscating on purpose, may please be reserved for the next Anthonybhai, if there ever is one. If there could ever be one.
It is heartening to hear the sparkle back in your voice, 436 interviews notwithstanding.

Dearest Amitji,
Wow, what a feat. 436 in one day. But plesae do not overstrain yourself. And all the very bestest to Abhishek dear for Bingo. I am looking forward to it with much eagerness and I am sure Saturday nights will be filled with fun frolic and Abhi’s naughty, impish and charming ways. Can’t wait for tomorrow. That you will be featuring in the first episode is of course an added bonus. So all the best.

Dear Amitji, Good Morning. Tolerence comes when we get rid of intolerence and anger on small irritants. Perseverence comes when we never take our eyes away from our goal of work and life.Understanding is behind every thing you mentioned.
Promoting Rann through 436 interviews one after the other in a different chair answering different anchor is an exercise in repeated work. Infact it will be better if you do one interview and allow everyone to share it. More than you they seem to have face of their own anchor shown on their TV channel. So for their continuity you suffer monotony as well as chair after chair.
3Idiots controversy was destined to happen. It ultimately benefitted both the film and the book. One small observation on 3Idiots: The tickets were priced about Rs300/- in multiplexes. The book price is fraction of ticket price. Hopefully book reader is more in to intellectual persuit of reading and imagination and the movie buff wants to see as it is without stretching imagination. So the cost of the lessons of 3Idiots are so much expensive.
Have a wonderful day and enjoy glory of Rann when every channel will show your pains of 436 for the anchors 436:1 that is you. Why not devise some painless method of such monotonous work. Your acting skills need to be exploited elsewhere than here. Compliments to Nasrudin Shah who said what he said. Stardom has a price and affecting acting is worst that can happen to a star. That is where the star starts falling.

Dear Amitji,
I just finished viewing your interview on NDTV with Barkha Dutt regarding Rann and other topics. It was a fantastic interview. What a graceful way to answer questions, ask questions and just say openely to a member of the media who is openly asing what do you think are the problems with the media when they do step over the line of privacy and go to far. I think it is extremely rude of anyone not in immediate family to be around private familial moments. Though I must admit, fans are curious as to how their favourite celebraties celebrate auspicious occassions with their family.
I wonder if the media has made it so that they will show the comman Indian how to celebrate such occassion by way of how celebrities celebrate that same occassion as they do look up to celebrities. I think it is was a well spoken interview and feel that several other actors need to look at this interview and learn a similar composure and professionalism in an interview as opposed to letting it get straight to one’s heart and directly lashing at the media.
I can’t wait for Abhishek’s show National Bingo Night to air in a couple of day. Rumor has it you are appearing. Please urge Abhishek to pursuade Aishwarya to come on the show, as that would just be fantastic and amazing. I love them both dearly as actors, human beings and professionals (along with you) and would love to see their interaction on TV without a host(i.e. Oprah who is just lovely). Please pass my Congrats and All The Best to Abhishek for his upcoming show premiere.
All the best for Rann, look forward to catching it in theaters.
Lots of love,
Kunali Shah

Dearest AB ji,
Please take care and wish you the best of health.
You are and will be the best actor that the world has ever seen. Naseeruddin Shah’s comments must be his frustration because he may think some of those roles you get and specifically written with you in mind are something he wishes he could have had a shot at and, all the more because you surprise with more challenging roles giving the top performance and no one can do it better than you. He must think he is the best but the reality is you are the most popular, in demand , the best & the greatest.
Loads of love & respect,
Susheela - TN USA
Dearest Mr. Bachchan, Sir,
Webster’s Dictionary defines ‘tolerance’ as this:
1) being tolerant of others’ views, beliefs, practices, etc.
2) showing respect for others’ beliefs without sharing them
You asked ‘What is it in human beings that builds tolerance?’ Straining my
feeble 2% brain power, I have come up with a response…shocking…I know.
In order to ‘build tolerance’ one must be exposed to views, beliefs or practices that are different from one’s own. Where I come from, everyone is almost exactly the same; same skin color, same background, same religion! Very, very
boring…and very, very ignorant…My Mother, may God rest her soul, saw to it that I was exposed to the rest of the world! When I was a child, we became the ‘Host Family’ to an Indian Engineering student from The University of Texas.
We discovered that Gopal’s Hindu religion was very similar to ours which is
Christian Science. Like us, Gopal is a vegetarian - not commonly found in Texas.
We loved his beautiful attitude, his accent kept us in stitches trying to communicate with him…to this day, if I hear certain words, I can remember the way he pronounced them and it brings a smile to my lips. My beautiful black haired, dark-eyed, dark-skinned Gopal. We loved him. Each of us clambered for his attention… One night, my Mother, my little sister and I all went out for dinner with Gopal. I remember us all laughing and talking over each other.
We had been there forever when we realized they were not going to wait on us…..even as a child, I felt furious…Mother was about to spring into action and rip somebody’s HEAD off…you just did NOT want to make my Mother mad… trust me…VERY bad idea…but Gopal wouldn’t allow it. He calmed her down and forced her out the door to the car. I can still remember the pain in his eyes and the embarrassment and the grace with which he handled the situation. This is my only experience with discrimination and intolerance. It shaped me. My Mother’s FURY along with Gopal’s calm taught me a valuable lesson. The (un)fortunate thing is, I am now JUST like my Mother…if that happened to me and Gopal now? Well, he’s an old man now…and he would just have to sit there and wait till I got finished with those people because he wouldn’t be able to shove ME out the door…He and I are still very close friends, even though he is back in Trivandrum, India…I am going to visit him this year.
Anyway, to make this long story even LONGER (sorry) I think that tolerance is the result of having been exposed to ideas, viewpoints, people different than your own and being allowed the childlike freedom to love them without being told it’s wrong…because it isn’t wrong…we are all different…but we are all God’s children.
This probably has nothing to do with the type of ‘tolerance’ you were asking about tonight…but it’s MY definition of ‘tolerance’ and you asked me…so…
here’s my answer.
LOVE YOU!
My Dearest Mr. Bachchan,
iam really sorry to know about the condition of your liver and that you have to depend on painkillers so often to reduce this back pain which appears from time to time…i really wish there would be another treatment, maybe some natural remedies, or some exercises to help you not to depend wholly on painkillers..
it was indeed such a hectic and exhausting day for you doing all these floods of interviews promoting for RANN and exercising some ‘tolerance, resistance, and perseverance’ with the media.
but iam delighted you sound satisfied and in a more cheerful mood today
and let me tell you dear, nothing of what you write is ever ‘inconsequential’. everything that you come up with is interesting and enjoyable to read. and those philosophical posts give some exercises to my modest brain…
it is always interesting to delve deep into your mind and your thoughts and you, in return, provoke our minds and elicit our thoughts…
so keep them coming….and don’t worry about the consequences
congratulations for India on its victory and best luck for Abhishek tomorrow with his first Bingo episode
and all best of luck for you tomorrow with your venture for Film city and with the first look for Rann
you are indeed tired…so please take very good care of yourself, and have a restful sleep
goodnight..
my love to you…in abundance

Morning Genius,
“Madness of some order can be attributed to conditions where there is little or none.”….but let there be a method in the madness…..
One of the FMXT had posted a link to Rann, and I saw it last night.
Gosh, the eyegear is really large… I think, larger than what you are wearing on the face page. I guess it would be your/ designer’s choice… so , we let it pass. Rann should be a rather powerful film and I look forward to it. Of course I also look forward to Mile Sur. In fact, I simply adored the previous one…
Best wishes to your son for Bingo.
NDH is still foggy and cold. We Delhites, need to pack in clothing for all climatic severities…and that too for short spells

Amitji, thank you for welcoming us — we love being in the world of Amitabh…
Reading “The consequences of inconsequential banter shall eventually turn up to be devoid of any consequence……” reminded me of the famous juxtaposition dialogue from Amar Akbar Anthony! Love it when you are in one of your mischievious moods. You had been quite philosphical and sombre for the past couple of days..
So chaar sau chhattees media-wallahs tranlate into 436 interviews. Hmmmm….Only you can do it, Amitji. Only you. Your rendezvous with the Chopras in their aesthetic home made for interesting reading, and so was the reference to your response to Naseer’s comment on you. Better to kill someone with kindness than retort in a similar manner and increase the acrimony.
I hope you have a wonderfully productive, happy day ahead. My love and regards, always,
Jasmine Jaywant

Dear Sir,
There has been a gap of few days…due to various reasons… nice the way your respose was to Naseruddin’s remarks…he is a man who says different to what the world says…if the interview person had asked the question in reverse manner…Mr.Shah would have replied in reverse manner…that from plain acting Mr.Bachchan has grown into a complete actor…Ha …Ha…Ha…
But, that is the way some people are….

Dear Megastar, You asked yesterday - does conscience make character or character makes conscience
Can you reply Sir- Does media make superstars or superstars make media? Does hen make egg or egg makes hen?
Any reply needed further?

Best Morning Sir
-What command you have over English language, mind blowing ! Gives immense pleasure and education to read beautifully crafted words and sentences. No less genuine than your genuine acting.
-we all would agree you are capable to give 4360 interviews in a day, yes I mean it.
-our best wishes to Abhishek for his debut on TV, we all at home enjoy his Bingo trailers. He is too good.
-India won against a superb team called Bangladesh-they really made us look “ordinary” in many aspects of the game.
- you should come again to Delhi soon to witness “great fog” of the winter. Its really mind blowing. Remembering your film shootings in Delhi during winters. They weren’t that foggy those days.
Till your next writing

PAA - waiting anxiously to watch “Rann”
But a question: Have to read “Five Point Someone”? And you watched 3 idiots - The movie?
Hi Amitji,
I met you in the Parliament when you were members of the parliament. I was a journalist at that time. I launched The Times of India (G) from Ahmedabad. I was the First Editor of that publication.
I was excited to read your commnets about the Chief Minister of Gujarat Mr. Narendra Modi. USA revoked the Visitor’s visa of Mr. Modi after many muslim organisations opposed his visit to USA.
I alongwith some friends of Gurat-India have launched a campaign to restore the Visitor’s Visa of Modi. We will be sending thousands of emails to all the US Congressmen and Senators. Similar mails will be flooded to The US President Mr. Obama and Secretary of States Mrs. Hilary Clinton.
Will you pl. make some intresting comments about Mr. Modi. We will greatly appriciate if this comments could be send to my email adress.
Dearest Brother
Love as well as Respect
I love you for being so novel in your approach.. I respect you for such great ways that you always encroach.. no, no, it is not just inconsequential that I try to use rhyming usage over here.. I fail to do it in poetry in English.. so I try to make it up with the prose.. you may offer me a little red rose.. (if you feel so..)
The media and you.. it could be the content of an epic with every right intent.. there has been such immense amount of interactions between the two that doing 426 interviews all in a day appears all to unbelievable.. yet I know you seldom make errors with figures.. if your back is not on track.. and if eyes do blur thye and the bed just spurs.. one must act to set things on track.. bhaai.. go slow..

Manish Parmar and Daisy M: Thank you for your appreciation of my comments a few days ago. Sorry for the late acknowledgement. Daisy, what news about your intended visit to this side of the globe? Any dates decided yet? I had sent you a message via FB quite a while ago.
Anand Khare: I would encourage you to try and understand what Mr. Bachchan writes by reading his own words rather than someone else’s. Maybe read them a couple of times? C’mon, you can do it! I hope you don’t mind me making the suggestion.
Lakshmi Jag: I discovered to my surprise that Colors has been added to our Indian channels package without us requesting it. Maybe it’s a free trial or something. The irony is there is no time to watch TV right now! And I was surprised to read your question to your guru, as that had been mine too to my guru this past October! The issue you mentioned — gossipping — bothers me a lot as well. His answer was to ignore what others do and to make sure I refrain from doing it myself. It’s a partial solution, because it doesn’t shield one from having to listen to gossip and malicious criticism or backbiting. It is more shocking when it happens after a pooja or bhajans in a group. I just feel the entire pooja went to waste. I have tried leaving right after pooja, but then you are supposed to stay for prasad and food, otherwise the host is offended, and I did not want to be percieved as anti-social or arrogant, so I stay. But what you wrote yesterday really hit home. I love your simple, succinct, clear, rational, to the point comments.

Dear Abhishek
Best Wishes for Bingo night.. the Saturdays we must all catch up with you.. do we in some prizes.. or we just watch things sitting in our drawing rooms I think there must be some more of it (the program) that we must learn.. maybe we will not have to wait for too long.. somewhere close to 36 hours we should get to know all we wanted to know about BINGO..
Have a great time.. Television is a great medium if utilised usefully.. it could take you to newer heights.. Wishing you and your program the very best…

Speaking of Perseverance, I would love to have some of that. Actually I am quite low on it so much so that I have started wondering if I have ADHD! I chose to address ‘Perseverance’ out of tolerance and resistance because God knows I need to learn to persevere.
Confession: I find exercise tedious, boring and extremely challenging. In short, I hate the whole darn thing so I had conveniently dismissed the whole notion. Now, my dear friends, yours truly has become quite ‘rotund’. There is a reason, why my FB account only has the picture of my face and it seems it will be there for a long time. Well, something needs to be done and the less effort is required on my part the better except nothing like that exists YET! So, I have talked myself into, yes, exercising. For the last couple of weeks I have been telling myself that I need to exercise and that was that but when I saw my latest photo that was taken on one of my sweetest friend’s house on sankrant where she had invited me for haldi-kunkun ceremony, a really sweet gesture on her part, I realized, I had to do something before I burst. So, walked on the treadmill for couple of minutes, a start. While walking on the treadmill I realized that if I were to run into you (highly improbable but then I can only hope) say at Barnes and Nobles, I would really like to be thin and not like a gol-gappa. This, has now become my motivation. I keep imagining a baby appu meeting you vs a decent looking person meeting you. I prefer the latter. So, there, I need perseverance, lots of it. Who knows, miracles do happen and I might truly run into you at a B&N store…..
loveyou
Valorie Sunshine aka Khushbhoo #162: This was a great comment. What a wonderful, uplifting, affirming story. It gave me the goosebumps to read it — did it really happen? What year — somewhere in the sixties/early seventies? I took a course in multicultural counesling last Spring, and learnt so much. Your mother was some lady, and so are you. This explains a lot about your total acceptace of others. If everyone in the world could just see things the way you do and your mother did, that thing called world peace that everyone wants and preaches would become a reality. It’s quite simple, really.
You are a very intelligent lady indeed. More importantly, you are so pure hearted. Now get that bronzed!!

Dear Brother
Sadar Pranaam
I know India won the Test.. a bigger win would have been to win the win hearts of our Pakistani cricketers.. if they do feel insulted by the behaviour of IPL auction and the treatment.. they are not too far away from reality..
If I were to choose top five players for Twenty20 atleast one spot would be reserved for Shahid Afridi ( Sehwag, Gilchrist, Jayasuriya and Watson would be the other four) and if I were to pick top twenty players then Gul as a bowler and Misbah as a batsman should also find themselvs some slots in that line up..
It is time that we wake up and try to win their hearts by recall of some top Pakistani players to be included in the IPL 3 teams.. Where is Mr. Khan.. Is he no more interested in making sporting relationships between the two countries.. atleast he could have picked some players.. I have some advise for Shilpa.. if she has no slot available to a bowler who has 6 for 12 in one of the first IPL edition for her team she does need to learn a few thing about cricketing skills.. a few pace bowlers can actually match the mantle of Gul.. the batsman really do not have much choice against him.. and boom boom Afridi.. he has not been as great a success with the bat in T20 as we would have expected but his ability to bowl four overs in every game comes quite handy in the batsman dominated format..
I thought I would not speak of IPL 3 yet the kind of heated debate and the reactions from Pakistan.. which are not a joy to read.. did me in.. I have great sympathy for the neighbouring country.. they have been insulted is quite visible.. who are the agencies who did that does not change the fact that they have not been treated well in the whole episode.. their inclusion is my only intention.. You do something for that.. if possible..

Interesting and light hearted post . You reaction to Naseer’s comment is very typical snd honest. Discreetion seems to be the better part of the valor here(pardon the motives attribution..punn intended).Even though he sounded right to some extent (who knows he may have been inspired by you) you took it on the chin as you both are of the sme type except for the diametrically opposite sizes. As usual you prepare thoroughly ,strike boldly and retire swiftly………
Dear Amitji,
Though i know your work keeps you charged but at the same time I get a bit scared when I see you exert yourself so much since recently I have seen some of our family friends falling sick due to over exertion and as your EF I am just worried. However all the best to you for RANN & Abhishek for Bingo. Once again a yellow line please.

Hi Mr Bachchan
Hope my mail finds you in the best of your health and spirits after those tiring and backaching interviews.Hope you could have a good quality rest.
I wish I could see all those 436 interviews.
I saw ‘The buck stops there ‘ on NDTV 24×7 yesterday.A nice and healthy interview with barkha.Your replies were apt and straight forward.Good!!
Barkha and Arnab are among those very few media person who maintains a certain level of dignity while taking any interview.I appreciate that.
You were fantastic in your replies especially while explaning how you are baggered time and time by media and also while explaining about that meeting with Modi.
Tommorow if ‘BINGO NIGHT’.I am feeling excited and anxious both because it’s abhishek first venture on TV and the show sounds very innovative.Hope for the best and All the best to him.
Love & warm regards
Take care
Priyanka.
Amitji’s lengthy interview with Barkha Dutt:
http://www.ndtv.com/news/videos/video_player.php?id=1195561
Dear Amitji
Following is copy-pasted from the website of my friend who has stopped commenting on your blog (I hope he reads this and comes back):
Worship, in a philosophical sense, is an act of unconditional surrender to the object of worship - a submission to hope, faith and eventually a regime of whims.
A capacity to worship is not a virtue.
However, unlike the faithfulness of animals, worshipping does require a state of consciousness that has a human characteristic – a state in which love and devotion to human life are conditioned to make involuntary sacrifices.
It’s a spontaneous process that trains a person to abandon other values yet retain human virtues.
Nonetheless there is an imminent threat of permanent damage to a person’s integrity, in which case worship becomes a self-defeating moral code.

I’m back from the public hearing for the ‘Save Coney Island’ group, where I volunteered to help man the welcome and information table at a benefit on 1/30 featuring country music bands. The city has picked an amusement park operator so hopefully new rides are coming for this summer.
When you said that 463 is metaphorical I assumed that it is not literal which is why I put quotes around the number in my first comment.
My cheeks are not aching from a broad smile(we should all have such pain) upon receiving my severance pay. And do you know why?? Because half of it goes to the government!! The amount that was quoted to me is a nice fantasy. It seems I have earned many thousands for the federal government, then there is Social Security, Medicare, NY State, and NY City taxes. And such great service from each one of them (said sarcastically).
I forgot to congratulate you on India winning- I hadn’t known they were playing.
Love,
Rochelle
Dear Sir
It nice to hear about RANN
But we are waiting for the promo on blog for movies “TEEN PATTI”
Respected Amitji,
“Welcome to the world of Amitabh droned-out-in-nonexistent-stupidity Bachchan !!”.. Somehow, today’s post reminded me of your famous Amar Akbar Anthony dialogue… well u know what i am talking about.. It was not a philosophical post surely.. but surely a drained-out-but-in naughty-mood post! Bestest of best words have been used!!
Sirji, we are in your world, no matter how it is!!!Simply because it is YOUR WORLD. You are surely drained out today.. What a day again.. 436 interviews, same questions, same expressions, but different postures, different chairs!!!!! what do you drink sirji.. in order to keep urself energy levels upto the brim.. haa now dont say.. ‘i dont have anything special..its all the love i receive from the people that keeps me going.. ‘
Tolerance, patience.. haaaa. something that has taken a toll within me the last few days… I had nurtured it quite well, cajoled it so that it doesnot burst out. It was tried and tested.. but, but it lost itself and broke out… something i am not known for!! Well in a way it was good cos atleast there has been a clean up in my mind and heart.. i am feeling much lighter and much better!! Nice way of justification naa?
That was very nice of you to have said like that to Mr. N.Shah.. But what surprises me is how could Naseeruddin Shah say that at all in the first place???? After seeing the best of your best movies that has come from you in the recent past???? Shocking!!!
Aaaaa sirji, dont please remind me of Australian antigen virus, 60 bottles of the ‘red stuff’.. please it brings back nightmares to me!! I will run a phoolan devi to that virus then!!! haw haw.
Poor you, ur head throbs, nose sniffles, back beckons.. yes yes yes please take the much much required rest sir.. Waiting to watch Bingo on Sat

Dear Mr. Bachchan,
There is so much madness all around that it becomes very difficult to maintain one’s sanity. I hope better sense prevails.

Melwyn
# Shilpa.. good thoughts.. but still, i suggest that you dont pay heed to words from the so-called, self proclaimed ‘Genuine Identity’ like deepa. You have other important things to do in life. Such elements are bound to exist only to test patience. Shilpa, i am sure ‘minding my business’ in cautioning you to ignore unwanted elements. May god give lot of strength to you. Convey love to the lil one.
HI! Why do stage actors have the audacity to judge film actors.Good acting is not judged based on any medium, whether actors are acting in films or on stage or in tv.
I have noticed that most of the time stage actors look down on film actors and yet takes the first opportunity to come to the dreamland to get a break in films. I think we should respect every kind of good acting.
Well, each to his own opinion, but given a chance any one would love to be in your boots! Hahhahah.
I respect your comment and your humbelness. These qualities set you apart from others.Keep it up.
Hate to be in hundreds. Please remind the Big Adda to revert to comment pages.
Take care.
With lots of love,

Mr. Bachchan, Dear…May I? Thanks!
***JASMINE JAYWANT @ # 186***
Yes, Jasmine, that whole story REALLY happened! Since YOU know my age, I will tell you that it happened when I was about 12 or 13 years old…now you can do the math…then…shhhhhhh!!! I met Gopal when I was 12…okay…no more talk of numbers! Bless you for saying those nice things about me. But mostly, thank you for saying that about my Mother. I could just cry because you said that. She WAS amazing. Thank you….and yes, I AM going to have your comment bronzed.
***RASHMI*** HAPPY BIRTHDAY! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO YOUR PARENTS!!!
***RENATE @ # 165*** Thank you, Renate! I’m honored that you took the time to read that long story. I glad that you liked it. I’m sure my Mother thanks you, too.
***LAKSHMI*** No, your confession did not go to waste. How brave of you to bare yourself that way. I admire you greatly for doing that. I am sure that you will be able to overcome this issue. You are a kind, thoughtful woman and you will find a way.
***PHYLLIS*** That link to the ‘milk thistle’ information is very informative!
Thank you for posting it!!!
***SATYAM*** THANK YOU for the link to the BARKA DUTT interview! I just saved it so I can watch it when I have more time…even if it isn’t in English, I still want to watch Mr. Bachchan!!!!! Very considerate of you, Satyam…
***DAISY M.*** May I fall in line behind Renate? My blood is as clean as the driven snow…and Mr. Bachchan may have all of it, if needed…all I ask is that he leave me just enough for my cheeks to still blush when he looks at me…
***SANGITA*** Bless you for your kind words, Sangita. You make me want to BE the person you THINK I am…Thank you.
Especially thank YOU, Mr. Bachchan. I hope you are feeling better by time you read this. It’s 10:30PM on Thursday night here…I am counting the minutes until I get home from work tomorrow so that I can communicate with you and all my precious EF again. Good night for now.
With sincere affection, Valorie
Thank you, Satyam, for the link.
Its disturbing to learn that the blood tranfusion you had was contaminated.
O God! Hope everything is under control.
Take good care of your health and slow down a bit when you feel that way.
All the best with BINGO and you have a beautiful day, beautiful
And……love you lots. I can post every 5 minutes on your blog “love you heaps” but that will flood your blog

Hi Mr. Bachchan
436 interviews in approx 12 hrs. phew ! I believe that’s a record of sorts !!
Was it promotion or some kind of stress & tolerance test…
Best of luck for the BINGO appearance, Cine artist stage performance & also first look of Rann.
I am now rushing to twitter to wish Abhishek best of luck for BINGO…
Take care

Hi Mr. Bachchan

Hello BigB,
Yesterday seems to be a busy but wonderful day ! U seem to work 48 hrs of the 24hrs day….That too at this age !!!!!
” WHAT’S THE SECRET OF YOUR ENERGY .”
IF U R SETTING NEW GOALS FOR YOURSELF,
BE SURE TO PUT ENJOYMENT OF LIFE , AT THE TOP OF THE LIST .
LOVE,
SUVARNA.
Respected Mr.Bachchan,
A wonderful post!I’m sorry to know that you had got contaminated blood transfused into your veins during the coolie accident!Never would’ve thought it could happen to’Amitabh Bachchan’too! Please take good care of yourself.
In today’s times, when it has become such an’in thing’to blow one’s top at the slightest pretext, your comment on Nasseruddin shah’s statement, speaks volumes about your cultured upbringing.I’ve always admired this quality of your’s.It’s actually a valuable lesson, youngsters, even some grown ups,can learn from you!I admire Naseeruddin Shah immensely. He’s a terrific actor. But I feel actors should refrain from making such statements about one another.
Watched your interview on NDTV yesterday.A good interview. Two,very fine personalities sitting across and having an intelligent conversation! You looked and spoke very elegantly.
You accomplish so much in a single day.Ofcourse the body would revolt!A proper sleep regimen would definitely rest it.
With warm regards and all my best wishes to you!
Shobha,Bangalore.
Dear Mr. Bachchan…. lots of work…please do take good care of yourself.
All the best for all the hardwork you put. Dont over strain yourself.

436 interviews!! That requires some doing…
I wish Abhishek all the very best for his stint with the small screen. Much like his PAA, I am sure he’s gonna rock TV world as well.

Archana #201: Well said. But where is Shilpa today? I don’t see her. I can’t believe anyone could’ve written such cruel thigns to her. I hope she hasn’t gone away from this family. If connecting with Amitji and us gives her some solace and peace, why would anyone grudge her that? My heart goes out to her. What a horrible, heart-rending thing to happen at such a young age. I hope she is around and writes again. Come back, Shilpa.

Just realized I typed 463 instead of 436 in my last comment. I still think that wasn’t meant to be a literal number as others have taken it unless I misunderstood what you meant by ‘metaphorical”.
Abhishek has tweeted that he’s driving to the sets of Bingo. have fun shooting with him.
Love,
Rochelle
Hi Sir,
Indeed a really tired full day for you judging from your description of the day. Hence, the result has taken on to your body. Just wanted to say to take care and amidst all the busy work, there is time for a break even though circumstances may make it seem as though there is not. The comparison that Anupama made with the answer you gave and the experience of Vidhu Vinod Chopra goes together well. A most sincere and mature answer you have given to you FilmFare without hurting anyone’s sentiments. Sometimes the pressure of the situation results in loosing one’s cool, so it is understandable. Good luck to Abhishek for his appearance on BINGO.
Regards and Love,
S
436 interviews, amazing .

rgds
So Bachchan Da you finally doing well on the “Time to Bed “ facet. Thats the first thing I notice, the time you write the blog and so another day of relief….The art of handling media is an art we all need to imbibe at some stage. The art of handling people in our case, those at office, the bosses, colleagues, friends, kids… Hmm I m still very amateur at that. Heard a lot about the Tv show that Abhishek is gonna make his television debut on. Looking forward to it and lots of good luck from me. Yeah India won and Sachin the man of the match… Love when he performs- he who in every way deserves every bit of glory that comes his way….Sleep well da… And may today be a bright day full of good health and cheers to you!!!
Love,
Shweta
Sir,
Pakistani cricketer Sohail Tanveer is venting his hatred against Hindus in the following video. You are such an influencial person that I thought you could write/comment about this issue and expose this person’s vile despicaple character. I feel proud that we did not allow him to play in IPL-3 and I think it is very important to talk about these issues openly before we can even imagine to have good relations with Pakistan. Can you imagine any indian cricketer saying
“musalmano ki zainiyat hi yahi hai”???

wht nasser did from hero hiralal in mid 80s to all 90s ,a bunch of non sense commercial failures in which there was no acting just making money so a hypocrat like him should refrian from commenting on others its not only u he criticsed others also like sanjeev kumar ,ompuri ,balraj sahini .whts more there is no role he did in his career which u cannot do but there is no role of urs which he can successfully do he is frustrated commercially failed actor .
Dear Amitji,
I am touched with the reply to Great Nasirsaheb’s comment……….Yes u are indeed down to earth……………. GREAT LEGEND……………………ALIVE AND KICKING………. AWAITING RANN..
Rajasekhar Pillai
my dearst Amitabh Bachchan..
good morning to you darling..how are you filling today?i hope you are well by now and that the pain is no more with you..
i just want to say thank you for leting me be a part of the ‘Amitabh Bachchan world’…i love it here…its a great place to live in….
i thought about tolerance….tolarance for me is to exept every one and every thing as natural ….to exept one another no matter to color and faith….
this is tolarance for me..to live and love every one….
i read the story Valorie sunshine wrote about her friend Gopal…..is made me very sad but there are ppl in the world who cant exept others even today……what we have here as family,EF/FmXt,we learned to love ech and every one of our big family here no matter what…and that is tolarance…to exept every one as human beings….but eanough with the philosophical morning..
i loved what you said at the 2nd part..i remamberd the song:My Name Is Anthony Gonsalvess….you made me smile….you allways make me fill good..
i hope you are better by now….i realy do….
i worry so much…i realy fill that Daisy made a good point and we all have to do so….i belive we all ,your EF/FmXt will be standing in one big line for that….
its a good suggestion….
i wish Abhishek all the best and good luck with the Bingo today…
may it be a huge success…
i wish you a good day my dear..
take good care…..i hope that your head ,nose, back and eyes are much much better now…
may you live long healthy happy successfull life with all your family and loved ones…
with endless love…
yours for ever..
anat magen here in israel…
All the best to abhishek for his new TV show………………….
HI
WISH ABHISHEK BEST OF LUCK FOR GAME SHOW.
I M VERY BIG FAN OF U BOTH.
NOW I WANT TO SAY ABOUT NARENDRA MODI ISSUE.
I LOVE MODI AS LOVE YOU BOTH BACHCHANS.
I DONT KNOW THE REAL FACT OF MODI ISSUE
BUT IT IS CLEAR THAT YOU CAN NOT SAY NEGATIVE RESPONSE TOWARDS MODI AS YOU HAVE EARLIER LIKE & ADMIER HIM IN YOU BLOG.
ONCE YOU APPRECIATE MODI AND THENAFTER YOU REJECT HIM.
THAT IS UNFAIR.
BE HONEST. YOU CAN NOT SEPRATE MODI & GUJARAT DEVELOPMENT.
AGAIN I SAYS THAT I ALWAYS LOVE U BOTH BACHCHANS. THAT IS WHY I WANT YOU BOTH VERY HONEST AND CLEAN PERSON IN THE WORLD.
I am your die hard fan but i hv following basic questions for you..if u can answer it ..it will help all of us.
1)Because of your praising abt u , ur family etc in ur blog , ur popularity is going down..i hv some statistical data on this.Do you agree ?
2)Shahrukh khan is more popular in usa but still you are the Best, what do you think on it ?
3)When will Abhishek learn to act like act like you ?
Its amazing that at this age also you are rocking. You are simply great. All the Best for everything you do !!
With Love & Regards,
Ani

dear amitabh :: I felt so terrible upon reading your blog today its very sad you recieved 60 units of blood ! i feel frozen and unable to offer a solution to your pain ravaged body.i remember everybody was upset when you had your terrible accident -but i did not realize the severity of your condition or i did not want to deal with it -i was so ecstatic when you pulled through -thank you God ! i pray to our Maker to always keep you well and in top spirits -you are the best actor in india by far and always will be -you are so handsome and debonaire -no one can match your credentials -i mean all these compliments ! you are one in a million for many of us and you will always be a treasure of India a true gem -a diamond - always sparkling and effervescent -thank you so much for your pearls of wisdom You are a great teacher and philosopher -love and heartfelt wishes to you forever and forever ——jackie
Dear Amitji,
Your opening lines sonded like a ‘con’ job in word play in ’sequence’ and the ‘consequence’ was absoulute hilarity. Brilliant
436 interviews is a humungous quantity for a day even if the no. is metaphorical. The duplicity and boredom of too many channels is apparantly hitting people on the other side of the limelight too. We as viewers are suffering this avalanche for some time now.
Strong reactions while on camera (reality shows, interviews, etc.) is avoidable, especially for people who have a following. This has a cascading effect on the doting viewer which many a times becomes a frivolous sanction for his / her own lack of restraint.
Abhishek and you on the opening of Bingo will be awesome.
It is a Duh! moment for me to realise that the up market hospital where you underwent recuperation post coolie could pull the carpet under your feet with contaminated blood
Sounds very stupid. Take more care Sirji !
End Line -
These are really great…….
A couple drove down a country road for several miles, not saying a word. An earlier discussion had led to an argument and neither of them wanted to concede their position. As they passed a barnyard of mules, goats, and pigs, the husband asked sarcastically, ‘Relatives of yours?’ ‘Yep,’ the wife replied, ‘in-laws.’
W O R D S
A husband read an article to his wife about how many words women use a day… 30,000 to a man’s 15,000. The wife replied, ‘The reason has to be because we have to repeat everything to men… The husband then turned to his wife and asked, ‘What?’
CREATION
A man said to his wife one day, ‘I don’t know how you can be so stupid and so beautiful all at the same time. ‘ The wife responded, ‘Allow me to explain. God made me beautiful so you would be attracted to me; God made me stupid so I would be attracted to you!
WHO DOES WHAT
A man and his wife were having an argument about who should brew the coffee each morning.
The wife said, ‘You should do it, because you get up first, and then we don’t have to wait as long to get our coffee.’ The husband said, ‘ You are in charge of cooking around here and you should do it, because that is your job, and I can just wait for my coffee.’ Wife replies, ‘No, you should do it, and besides, it is in the Bible that the man should do the coffee.’ Husband replies, ‘I can’t believe that, show me.’ So she fetched the Bible, and opened the New Testament and showed him at the top of several pages, that it indeed says……….’HEBREWS’
The Silent Treatment
A man and his wife were having some problems at home and were giving each other the silent treatment. Suddenly, the man realized that the next day, he would need his wife to wake him at 5:00 AM for an early morning business flight. Not wanting to be the first to break the silence (and LOSE), he wrote on a piece of paper, ‘Please wake me at 5:00 AM .’ He left it where he knew she would find it. The next morning, the man woke up, only to discover it was 9:00 AM and he had missed his flight. Furious, he was about to go and see why his wife hadn’t wakened him, when he noticed a piece of paper by the bed. The paper said, ‘It is 5:00 AM . Wake up.’
Yours as always
Ramanathan
Valorie - My deepest respects with you for having gone through a separation from such a lovely dad. My only thought of comfort is that somehow the system knew that the times together were limited and gave him the power to shower so much affection and you the power to receive and retain it within the destined shorter timeline.
Hello Sirji,
Yesterday must have been one grilling day for you to give one on one interviews for 12 hrs aprrox on a continuous basis……
You are just GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAT!!!!
My love for you as always

Sir,
High level of tolerance, resistance and perseverance is basic requirement to be a winner in today’s world.
I liked this article by Mr. Pritiish Nandy, which is very relevant in today’s scenerio,

Good Luck for Rann And for ‘Bingo’. I am a fan of Abhishek and following him on twitter.

Your suggestions are well received. Thanks for your concern. I feel priviledged.
Just to share with you, I was already reading the blog twice to understand the AB’s blog properly. Now on I will read it thrice.
Actually , I love to read comments of some of the fans such as Jasmine of London, Ramanathan, Sharmila, Kashmira, Abhay sharma and Satyam, to name a few, for they write nicely and it also helps me in understanding the subject better.
I must admit here that you are the one whose comments I never missed for the same reaons.
regards & love
Anand
dear jasmine & archana,
thanks for standing up for me. i am very much here. just had to run around a bit from morning to do some household chores. had to get a key done for letter box, which i couldnt find at home and then to pay the MSEB bill. rujula is watching snow white on DVD giving me some time to catch up with amitabh uncle and you all.
my mother-in-law is staying with us now so i have somebody to take care of rujula when i go out for work.
and like you both said i will surely ignore the nasty comments by anyone. it was very kind of you to intervene for me. i assure you i wont let it affect me. you know if somebody gives us something and we choose not the take it, that stays with the concerned person for eg. with ” a ” chooses to give me an apple but i refuse to take it that apple stays with ” a ” right ? similarly i choose not to take any insults from anyone let them stay with the concerned person. it is different with constructive criticism which gives us scope for development. but like u said some things are better ignored.
through this blog i feel connected with people and it will help me reduce my grieving period hopefully.
thanks a bunch !
take care and bye for now.
shilpa
and amitabh uncle u are aware there are millions out there who love u so much and worry about you. please do take care of your health.
My dearest Mr. Bachchan,
Welcome back dearest one….and may this good cheer and bounce in your voice and your step ever remain! That was one of the most difficult day and night that I lived thru yesterday….just couldn’t get the anger and the hurt in your tone out of my head! Please do not ever let that happen to you again!
Of reference and referendum, consequences and inconsequential banter….ooooh, you bring Anthony of AAA fame back to life again! Precious!
Abhishek has entered the Guiness Book of World Records….I am extremely sorry for having overlooked to congratulate him and give him our blessings for this…I ought to have done this nearly four-five days ago when I first heard the news on television…hope I am forgiven? And now, I feel you ought to follow suit, dealing with 436 media people and probably as many questions fielded to you by them, in a span of 12 hrs or less is not an ordinary, everyday occurance by any measure! You make us feel so special, to be here with you each day and to share this space with you, which has assumed sacred connotations, right from the start! Call it an admirer’s biased view, if you will! To be welcomed to share your life process with you, and to listen in awe, when you speak about your venerable Father!
Thank you, and my heartfelt apologies once more, for whatever I may or may not have said, which shouldn’t have been or should have been said!
Wiht loads of love, and blessings for your good health and every happiness to come your way,
Ever and always,
Kashmira
May I address our EF…thank you?
Valorie, that was the most delightful and heartwarming (about Gopal) account I’ve ever read here on the blog…specially your line saying…”the unfortunate thing is, I am JUST like my mother now!….” God Bless you sweetie….your posts are always so real-istic and always so interesting to go thru…your poems specially! Jasmine (J), that makes the two of us, doesn’t it! Btw, anytime that you visit India, I hope you can come across to Pune and visit us here too, Val? It would be such a pleasure!
For anand.ajay.p: Thank you for your appreciation and warmth Anand! It is so heartening to know! God Bles!
For Puneet, Lena, Daisy M, Carla, Jabela, Jasmine, Jasmine Jaywant, Jazmine, Sharmishta, Saroj, Daksha, Tehreem, Monalisa, Archana (Bengaluru), Aishwarya (TVM), Sharmila, Sharmishta, Satinder, Rupam, Phyllis, Manisha, Vijaya, Renete, GA Patel, Mondira, Zainab, Anita, Mary Anne, Valorie Adams, Sillyscientist, Angel, Sanjith, Vikas, Subhash, Kishore, Abhay, Naresh, Preeti, Bharati, Mithai Lal, Ravi, Deepak T , Raman, Pramod, Ramanathan, S. Dearest Big B,
— On Mr. Naseeruddin Shah’s remarks on your acting —
Mr.Bachchan has done some 200 odd films in his entire career and if you ask anyone in India - they will be able to recall and tell the names of atleast 150 of his films!!!
And then just test Mr Naseerudin…about youself with the same poeple…they could just remember not more than 5-6 !!!
Mr Naseerudin Sir, you are a great actor. But, Mr. Amitabh Bachchan is an Icon and Indian Icon and he does so many things that you can’t probably think of. Not is not just a great actor, singer, personality….he is a great human being!

Valorie #162 what a beautiful story , I got goosepimples as I was reading it.Yesterday’s quotations were also lovely.
I agree that tolerance means being open to the ideas of others whoever they may be, one may not always agree with them but can accept their value. The thought /ideas of others often carry a lot of validity, we can only broaden our vision by seeing this fact.
Thanks Mr B, I owe you one, truly indebted.
In consequence,
warm regards,
NK
And now comes the hard part of being behind in the comments. Because my conscience is making me say something, although at least a couple of people on Day 638 of this blog will have already pre-judged my character for daring to do so. I do this not easily, because I am an outsider to India. I do it because I consider myself to be a member of the FmXt and because as such I have a great love for you and your work, and even more so, for you and the person you have become for me, for us on this blog, and I cannot look the other way and say nothing with any human being that I love when I have a concern about them , no matter what distance I love from.
You say you are apolitical, and I guess my word for it would be you are non-partisan. Because whether you like it or not, I think you are political by the very nature of who and what you are, a royal figure in India and across the world.
The most disquieting thing to me were the comments made by some of your FmXt on the day of the very first time you mentioned Gujarat and Modi, when I read people who had had one viewpoint of him before that day changing their minds about him right there on the blog, simply on the basis of what you said about him that day. That kind of power over people’s opinions, their hearts and minds, is political, even though you did not will it thus, even though you would I feel sure wish it never to be that way. For better and for worse, there it is - power unasked for, but there all the same. What you say, what you do sways hundreds, perhaps thousands, on the blog, and sways millions in India and her far flung borderless NRI empire on which the sun never sets.
For that reason, I am disquieted about your getting friendly towards any who have been suspected of communal violence, whether it is officially proved yet or not. I do not think one can be friendly and stay neutral with people like this, no matter how successful they might be in what they are presently doing. I cannot presume to judge you, to know what is in your heart. I am only talking about appearances here, appearances that have political ramifications no matter how pure your intentions are. My misgivings have nothing to do with fake media bullshit stories; they have everything to do with your being a supreme figure in the heart and soul of millions, billions of Indians. Even as an outsider in America, in remote, provincial Texas that fact is evident to me.
And I stand with Satyam, Lakshmi Jag, with Jasmine, with Kashmira, with Daisy, with Rochelle, with Archana Bengaluru, who have all had the courage of their convictions and of their love for you to dare to clearly voice some misgivings. You have taught us that healthy debate is acceptable on this blog, as long as it is not personal. Well, in a way this is different, it IS personal, but it is so because it comes hand in hand with with the utmost respect, with the utmost love, and you cannot get more personal than that.
With respectful misgivings,
and with all my love,
Phyllis
Dear Amitabh Ji
i am writing you first time. Please take care of yourself always.Wishing you Jaya Anty, Abhishek and Aiswaraya all the best.
Regards,
Your well wisher from Barabanki
PS M, I inadvertently left your name out of my “honour roll” of Love and Dissent; please chalk it up to my having stayed up all night.
About that tolerance, you demonstrate it like a trooper, tolerance for hard work, tolerance for long hours, tolerance for people like me who come on your blog and don’t always agree with you…who else does this like you? You are the nonpareil!
Dear Amitji,
Oh… thanks a ton for there are no more questions to answer today for I can only agree that it is not possible to reach your level, your expectations, your courage, your tolerance, your persevarance, your abilities, your brain power. So I know you will accept me as I am, even if I sound artificial, illogical, irrelevant, and showing 32 teeths for nothing but cheekache. But to those who can answer your questions, bravo let them, best wishes to them for atleast you will know there are some right here who can communicate. Well I know your love remains equal for all. Thats the beauty of this blog.
But I am concerned when I read on the ‘pain killer’ needs and when your head throbs, nose sniffle, back beckons, eyes blur but I am happy that you accepted the invitation of the bed for the rest your rightly deserve and earned.
Take care. Celebrate. Best Wishes for RANN. Enjoy. Rest. C U tomorrow. My conscience will bring me here too. Character , always room to improvise.
Love
Mario
Phyllis @ 277….. I second you on that.
Jasmine Jaywanth: thank you for letting me know about colors and your support and I did leave a message for you yesterday
Valorie: thanks for your support. In reality I do not indulge too much in it. There is one lady in town toward whom I need to develop tolerance and both my concsience and character will be in sync
Lakshmi
Ur one para in the post today reminded me of that very famous dialogue where u r telling actor Ranjit about “You see cricket is a bherry phunny game …”Think it was “Namak Halal” if I am not mistaken, gosh it was howlarious that one, just like u, I too nearly broke my back laughing!See U again tomorrow, bye bye.

In this entire world I feel like clicking photos with only 3 great person and out of those u r one along with Shri Jyoti Basu, who recently died of his illness, other one is our DADA Sourav Ganguly, The great cricketer to me and finally you. 2 days back I have seen ur film Paa in which u did the best of yours but your son cum father for the first time felt us that he also can go beyond u, just as like her mother who was more capable to move beyond ur talent and acting skills if she wouldn’t have retired at her peak time.
In the film Paa there was a scene where little Auro feels betrayed and cheated as he was not taken to Delhi by the MP, u made us felt how disheartening it was by your supernatural skills. I am just mentioning this to remind u about Ikramul Khan and Ali Hussain to whoam u promised to meet and in this between one of them passed by and the other is waiting to meet u. I hope they also felt the same as did AURO in Paa.
As a admirer of urs I dont want you to loose faith on any one’s heart who loves u the most so its my humble request to u sir that please do the needful to meet him at the earliest so that u might not loose in our mind and heart.
wishing u good health and lot of work from u and Abhishek, and Jaya Aunt.
thanking u
RAJ, Kolkata

Dear Bigb,
I stumbled upon this following piece of article and interview on moneycontrol and found it interesting. just thought of sharing with FmXt
with regards

Just a minute with: Amitabh Bachchan
Interviewing Amitabh Bachchan is an event in itself. You go over your questions several times, make sure the recorder has backup batteries and reach the venue before time.
Once inside, you will notice the two video cameras that will record every word, because the 67-year-old actor records every interview.
It does get a bit unnerving but once you start the conversation, all that fades away as Bachchan talks about his equation with the media, his upcoming film “Rann” and how sad endings work for him.
Q: Your new film ‘Rann’ deals with the world of news and media.
A: “‘Rann’ is about the fact that the media has got the title of the conscience of the nation, but the media is also a business and sometimes to run a business, you compromise with your conscience or vice versa.
“It is a battle that goes on in the mind of one individual, which is my character, Vijay Harshvardhan Malik. He has a voice, he has an opinion and when he talks, the nation believes him. How he then gets involved in the politics of the nation, the competition that exists in the news media, issues in his family, issues with industrialists and how he either comes out or succumbs to it.”
Q: In the past, you’ve had quite a tumultuous relationship with the media. How do you look back on those years?
A: “Well, it wasn’t tumultuous; it’s just that certain understandings that went wrong. The media accused or assumed that I was responsible for press censorship during the time of the emergency, which was completely wrong and false and therefore they banned me. And when they banned me, I reciprocated and that’s how that relationship went.
“But you know I have friends in the media and everything is eased out now. And I said they have a certain responsibility, they have certain formats to follow. We are public personalities, we will be written about and we have to learn to live with that. Of course, if it goes beyond a point then you have to talk to them or now, give a clarification through some other medium.”
Q: So does the fact that there are other mediums now available, like your blog which is so widely read, diminish the need for the media in a way?
A: “I don’t know. If there are so many mediums available then obviously there will be a lot of dilution taking place. Yes, it’s an asset, advantage that we can directly go (to them) without another medium and that’s a lot of fun I think. And it’s immediate. You get an immediate response and you can respond to that response, so I think it’s marvellous.”
Q: You record all your interviews, you save every message you get from the media. Is there an element of mistrust there?
A: “That is just in case I don’t get misquoted and then I have an opportunity to tell you or correct you. And also for my own record.”
Q: What’s been the reaction of the media to the ‘Rann’?
A: “They find it very interesting. They have seen the promo and they are very curious about it. I haven’t really shown it to many people but Barkha (Dutt of NDTV) and Aroon Purie who is a personal friend, were all very keen to see it.
Q: The director of this film, Ram Gopal Varma, is a man who has been called everything from mediocre to brilliant. You have stood by him in spite of that. Why?
A: “Well, it isn’t like you are married to someone and you have to stand by them no matter what. I enjoy working with him, the roles that he gives me, even the ones that didn’t work. There is a certain creativity and respect for each other, he presents me very well, so I enjoy working with him.”
Q: You career could be divided into two phases, during the ‘angry young man’ phase and now. Which would you say has been creatively fulfilling?
A: “That’s because of my age. I can’t be playing leading men any more. Even in the early part of my career, I was doing things that were very fulfilling and the same is happening now. I cannot differentiate because I would be being dishonest if I were to differentiate between a phase of my creativity.”
Q: Your last film “Paa” was very well-received and is sweeping all the awards. That must be very satisfying.
A: “Yes, it is very satisfying. I am happy that a lot of people appreciated the film and that they were able to see something different and still patronise it. It shows that the audience, as we always believe, is never ignorant and they are the most intelligent people. If we test them you will find that they are very vocal and very knowledged (sic) about what is meted out to them and we must never ignore that.”
Q: You’ve also done television shows recently. Do you enjoy that medium?
A: “It’s a very different medium, a very challenging one and it is not as easy as it looks. I am in great admiration of the amount of labour that goes into putting up these shows. I have had the opportunity to go behind the scenes and see how it works and it’s a massive operation and it is all handled by youngsters.
“In fact, I think that is the trend everywhere. I was on a flight to Delhi yesterday and the pilot came out to meet and take autographs and they looked like kids out of college (laughs). They must have great acumen to handle such responsibility at this age.”
Q: Do you feel younger then, in the company of all these young people?
A: “Of course I feel old, very old (laughs), because I see them doing so many things, and I am not doing them and I feel all this is beyond my age now.”
Q: Speaking of young people, you played a 13- year-old in “Paa”. Weren’t there apprehensions about the fact that your face and your personality wouldn’t be visible at all?
A: “This was looked upon as a challenge more by Balki but this thought never entered my mind. But it was only after 9/10ths of the movie that one of the production executives said sir, do you realise that the original actor’s face will not be seen in the film’. And I said ‘oh my god, I never thought of that’.
“Also there was the fact that we wanted Auro to be there, not Amitabh Bachchan, so the marketing and publicity were centred on Auro and not me. I only came on once the film was out. I think that worked.”
Q: At the “Rann” press conference you spoke about ‘poetic justice’ in Indian films.
A: “The beauty of Indian cinema is that you get poetic justice, otherwise no point making a movie is there? So, if there is poetic justice in every film, there will be poetic justice towards the media as well. You know that good will triumph over evil in the end.”
Q: Yes, sad endings don’t really work for us, do they?
“Actually, if they are done with a purpose and if it falls in line with the story then it is fine. A lot of sad endings have worked. ‘Sholay’ has worked for me, ‘Muqaddar ka Sikandar’ has worked for me, ‘Kasme Vaade’ has worked for me, ‘Paa’ has worked for me. Maybe I should be dying more often.”
I was in Egypt this week and when people learnt I was from India, they would first say Amitabh Bachchan!
Not Shahrukh or Hrithik or Aishwarya Rai, but always Amitabh Bachchan. I found this amazing because having lived in the US for a decade and traveled to numerous other countries, this was a first. Most Americans & Europeans have never heard of bollywood names beyond Aishwarya Rai. This was true in Jordan as well.
But Egypt is clearly different. They told me Amitabh Bachchan is wildly popular in their country - more than President Mubarak! I got the same response in both Cairo and Luxor, which was a very pleasant surprise.
Kudos to Mr Bachchan for scaling unprecedented heights.
hi .. sir
Big friend .. issko use kese karna hai ?
130 Saroj, of course I don’t mind. anything on this blog is for all, as I see it. Andrew Weil is that rare western doctor who is open minded to alternative medicine and healing systems and techniques; his website is a fund of information. I’m glad you were interested. Love, Phyllis
Dear Sir,
The first paragraph in today’s Post suggests some part of your brain has set you in a thinking mode. It must be a novelty for you to find the time to think particularly during those phases when you are out and about in public domain. Perhaps life goes at a slower pace during the making of the film compared to the marketing stage. Through your writings, I get to know about marketing strategies and it amazes me. The media do have an important role to play during the release. My best wishes for the success of Rann.
Actually I meant to write about the change I notice in your mood and somehow ended up writing about your film. Yes a film. You and film - the two are inseparable.
“Welcome to the world of Amitabh droned-out-in non-existent stupidity Bachchan.”…That’s the spirit!! The mood has surely changed for the better!
436 Interviews? Perhaps you could have done them in batches. Whatever you heard from the journalist about Mr Naseeruddin Shah’s comments about you ..I would refrain from drawing any conclusions. You heard the words from third party, not from the man himself. IF he did put it that way (which I doubt) then I would not expect a senior member of the film fraternity to set such an example to the younger generations. This is nothing to do with Mr Naseeruddin, but I know that lack of trust and back-stabbing prevail in the film-industry. Everything is not as glamorous and glorious as it appears to be.
I am so sorry to hear about the contaminated blood transfusion you had after the Coolie accident. I never knew it has left a lasting damage. I would hope you have consulted the appropriate medical specialists on any possible cure.
Good Luck to Abhishek with Bingo. He seems to be making the most of the opportunities available. I am sure he’ll do well and so he deserves.
Sir, if you don’t mind can I mention to you something that has been bugging me? I am one of those FmXt living in UK who have watched the Channel 4 documentaries on the Mumbai slums. You or anyone else don’t need me to tell you the feeling this left behind having watched the conditions in which people live particularly the children. I am abhorred. Last night, I watched a seven year old girl with one of her toes missing. The toes and flesh from her ankle had been eaten away by rats when she was a baby. Indian Government is keen to portray itself as one of the fastest growing economies. Perhaps it should turn round and look in its backyard. There is absolutely no excuse for the suffering that goes on. Hell is not up there, it is down there!! The scale of it, the severity of it. Shame on the Indian Government!!!! No excuses….no excuses….no excuses.
Love,
Daksha

Dear Mr. Bachchan,
Nothing you say or do in the public arena can ever be termed inconsequential. Coming back to the Modi issue , I read a fan of his praising you for speaking so highly of him and seeking your support in over riding his status as persona non grata in the US. So even while your motives in hob nobbing with politicos and maharajas and sheikhs might be apolitical , theirs are anything but .
Today , I think all will agree that Sen John Edwards has neither moral character nor conscience . Then , on the other hand , he has agreed to support his child and accepted ‘it’ as his owm . He is also , supposedly a champion for the poor . More plus points in his karmic equation ? Perhaps conscience and moral character should be looked upon as a continuum . We all are guilty of tipping the scales one way or the other at various points in our lives , I believe .
Have taken day off to get organized for India trip . Ah ! can’t wait . First thing on agenda , apart from pigging out , is watching Rann. Want to see you in a meaty , powerhouse ,inspired role and hope RGV will not disappoint. I doubt that Naseer meant any disrespect toward you in his remarks. We have all cringed at some of your movie avatars and I also feel that at times Amitabh Bachchan , the icon , overrides AB the actor. Everything you do as a person , as a family is so high profile it seems to creep into your acting life. Your physicality too , seems to have become a factor in the kinds of roles you seem to be willing to accept .That , dear Sir , is not to say that we don’t love you. But you said to not pick on you so I shan’t do so . At least not for a while
Lots of love and best wishes.
Dear Amitji MUST SEE AND READ
How are you? Guess You are really busy in your schedule trying to accomplish all that you have set up to do. I am sure your “to do list” is very long.

You really conduct yourself with grace and dignity. Thank you for being a very good role model for all of us. Also I would like to request a big favour from you. You see, I live in Brampton, a suburb in Toronto. The community is planning on building a temple in Brampton and the main diety will be Guruvayoorappan (Lord Krishna) I am a devotee of the Lord adn can’t tell you how happy and thrilled I am to have the opportunity of having a temple dedicated to him in my neighbourhood!!!! They now are renting a small unit in a strip mall and would like to build a temple like the one in Guruvayoor (Kerala). This ofcourse will cost a lot around $4.6 millions. Sir, could you make a small contribution towards the cause to make it happen? You can learn more about the temple when you google and enter Guruvayoorappan temple in Brampton in the search engine. I know that your are very busy but, could you pl oblige? I am looking forward to hearing from you personally (that will make my day).

Dearest Buddy,
What is it in a human that builds tolerance?
Tolerance comes after Self experience and facing the true reality.
Which section of our complicated brain tells us when our resistance is about to break.
It’s our nervous system.
When do we develop inside us the value of perseverance?
When one’s blood relations doubt on their integrity.
Today, after 3 years of construction work, India’s longest flyover at Hosur Road was inaugurated.
It pains to see you in pain. May the Almighty bless you health and peace. Not only you, last four days have been sad to see Shilpa Dhondarikar’s husband passing away in a road accident.
Life……….a four letter word, God…….a three letter word, where no one can understand better.
Full of sorrows and grief with some.
Laughter and happiness with some.
Success for some and sadness for some.
Accolades for some & awards for some.
Depressions for some & memories for some.
What is life and what is God. No one knows better.
Certainly; one needs courage of a mountain and a heart of pure gold to feel the love and the pain in sufferings and a prince to understand this, who left his kingdom to become immortal. What a Great & Nobel Soul Lord Buddha was.
Eagerly waiting for BINGO tomorrow and RANN……………….have kept biscuits ready at home.
Warm regards,

Daksha - Reply to your comments yesterday. I did watch it almost in dispair, the circumstance of children in Mumbai, but maybe all over India is heartbreaking.
To add, no clear solution is present. Gov’t act to help resolve this situation and help provide improved living standards however the reverse is often the consequence.
The pro’s and cons of Dharavi is obvious. The social network and cohesion is irresplaceable and cannot be substituted. The santitation and access to clean water can be solved. Education. The biggest pro is the safety issue. Practically no crime in this city within city.
Thank you for your greatly appreciated comments and contribution here.
Love always,
Manish Parmar, UK.
Dear AB,
I never get tired of watching your interviews nor I feel or find it mechanical or repetitive. There is always something new even in responses to same questions and same answers!! Their are many constants in all of your interviews-e.g U never played to gallery- U never try to influence/corrupt media by bringing personal equation or position-U treat everyone equally and humbly- Your views and observations are constant- U never try to pretend your superiority or pretend anything…on and on
Here is a link to your remarkable interview with Barkha- a must watch.

Amitabhji there are inumerable references to your”436” interviews in span of about 12 hours..
Can’t those be 435 or 434 in number. How can you be sure (and everyone here believes you most submissively)–who was keeping count of the interviews—any charming companion accompanies you to all such engagements?
If not you have our permission to have two beautiful secretaries to assist you in your day today appointments etc.
God bless you with abundant energy and mental strength. You are indeed an extraordinary person.
Hey
Mr Bachchan
You were Superb In BIG BOSS Season 3 and Abhishek Bhaiya will also be superb in BINGO will also be superb . Son Of Mrs and MR. Bachchan will be great on his Debut On Indian T.V
U were Outstanding in KBC and I believe Abhishek Bhaiya will Also be the best ..
Yours Lovable Fan
Mr Amaan Zaman
And now here is something from Lipika Varma/ Real Bollywood.
Amitabh Bachchan, ’the phenomenal actor’ seems to have been blessed and showered with the Almighty God’s good will in abundance. We wonder, is this the reason behind his electrifying persona and sparkling energy that he possesses? Though this could be one of the reasons but there are manifold reasons for AB to be noticed-the most important reason however is his humility which has brought him to such great heights. Life has probably come to a full circle for him by performing as a 13 year’s old cute little boy with loads of emotions and sincerity as–Aura. No star can ever be compared to Amitji for the characters that he has played till date. He has come a long way from the angry young man of the seventies to Vijay Harshwardhan the media genius in his forthcoming film Rann, which will be releasing soon followed by Teen Patti.
A brief rendezvous follows-
Do you ever feel irritated of the media?
No not at all. If you feel so then I must say that your thought process is wrongly insinuating you (smiles). Actually media is the strongest medium that can bring about changes in the society. In fact it can be considered stronger medium than film too. We belong to a democratic country where everyone has the right to freely express his will. Any changes for betterment should be welcomed with open arms.
Shed some light on your character in the film? Kindly bring forth your take on the media?
In any profession one undergoes a conflict between his conscious and business. Similarly, there is a conflict between conscious and financial necessities in the character of Vijay Harshvardhan and how knowingly or unknowingly he gets involved in wrong doings due to political, family, peers or other pressures, is all depicted in this film. Relating to a visit at one of the channels he quips,” I visited a channel and I was taken in and around the channel explored the inner world, they restore and rejuvenate their mind and body, profoundly eliminating and adding news and working towards the latest happenings. They had many more television sets where they could notice the first hand news. The competition keeps them going. These days television spots hold for few moments only you may have noticed everything has acquired a fast pace. We need to maintain truthfulness, bringing forth sincere emotions which may finally lead to integrity. Media is the most healthy medium, introspective and wanting to talk about themselves. The more debate we have it works. It’s a powerful medium. Media is the most intelligent and literate media which can educate the common man and make this World a better place to live in.
Your love /hate relationship with the media over the years… please share your positive and negative experiences?
Using strong words as love/hate relationship/experience with the media will be a bit unfair. I have had my share of good and bad experiences with them. Nonetheless it has been sorted out amicably. I remember in the past something that I did not believe in I disagreed to it. However, we cannot correct anyone as it is their point of view. I remember it was during emergency. An unlikely happening, it was ridiculous media had banned me. The photographers too had stopped clicking me in the recent times. I have been sincerely doing my job. Reminicising how his credentials too were not mentioned in their articles… way back in the seventies like they would write the name of Shashi Kapoor and others but there was no mention of my name just few dots were added in the end. But I am happy that everything is over now.
What is your take on life?
Life is a struggle. When babuji (father) was alive I would always look up to him to get his advice and now I find solace in his poems. He would always say films need to be painted in a poetic manner which comprises of just two or three hours. One needs to pursue life sincerely by working hard and defeat can never over take success.
What went wrong with your company ABCL?
I think I am not a very good business man. Our company had shut down with a loss of almost outstanding amount of Rs. 90crores. I owed money to many people and this made me very uncomfortable. After few years I would take the list and go to each one trying to clear out all the debts. As I wanted to clear my sick financial status, I tried to work my way and with God’s good will I was able to get back to my normal way of life.
You have always kept the media at bay during your family functions. Nonetheless, it is obviously a personal affair but being a celebrity the audiences love to take a sneek peak. Comment.
These are very delicate issues while a daughter is getting married it is not only a precious moment for the family members but also a tender and a poignant moment for all of us. Our girl daughter is leaving our home and going to a new home. It is a valued as well as a powerful decision once in the lifetime of the girl as well as the family members which makes our heart sorry as well as happy too. We did treat the media with sweets and soft drinks across the road but there were some disagreements with the photographers. At certain juncture we do not want to lose our privacy. Another sour incident that occurred during Abhishek’s marriage was too very awful. That lady cut her hand in front of our house it was a deliberate and a frivolous act a staged act indeed. Another incident when Sameer [lyricist], I share a long relationship from Allahabad with his father Indivar. He had invited me to launch his book .And during the course of conversation I just said “Jab Abhishek ka ladka paida hoga…” I left the event as I had to go somewhere out. By the time I returned home I was shocked to note that the channels were flashing giving importance to ladka as a gender biased tale. You believe it I was so shocked as my intentions were meaning to a child. I did to have an iota of thought that I am stressing on a baby boy or a baby girl. That news has lashed me into legal issues. I am still fighting it out. Is it not strange indeed?
Celebrities are the soft target of the prying eyes of the media comment?
We are a part of the media and one must accept that. If I am a public figure I need to be extra careful and they should not go beyond the society conduct. I have to be well mannered and well behaved.
Off late children are committing suicides at large number. What is your advice to them?
It is a sad situation. Parents have to groom their children and tell them it’s wrong. It’s the sign of a weakness. We should learn to fight and face life. If one door shuts God opens various doors for you. My parents were always liberal with me and let me do what I wanted to do in my life. On the other hand children should not succumb to this cowardice act.
What is your message on this Republic Day, January 26?
It is a matter of pride for all Indians. India has progressed in all the directions more so after having attained Economic liberalization. Every Indian should strive hard to progress, enjoy and maintain our independence.
Dear Amit uncle
Naseerudin Shah, yes the name automates the response of respect, as ur name does adoration. It feels akward when he makes such an observation, for I have grown up adoring you, and watching Mr.shah in awe. Both of u will always signify for me the perfection in acting. But not all can do both, and u have certainly proved otherwise.
With love
Susmitha.
Dear BigB,
And here is another titbit from Anil Kanojia,
Renowned for his punctuality by one and all Big B yet again proved the credentials of his title Mr. Punctual in an award function. Recently, he made the point to make it to be on time at the rehearsal of an act for Screen Awards. The act was performed to promote his forthcoming venture Teen Patti.
A reliable source who was present on the sets explains, “Amitabh Bachchan is surely the most punctual actor in the industry. He came on time for his rehearsals at an award show. Not just that, he rehearsed his act with five new comers including Shraddha Kapoor, Shakti Kapoor’s daughter repeatedly.
If sources are to be believed, Big B is engrossed in the promotion of is going all out Rann and Teen Patti simultaneously. Well, that’s call a combo of a professional and a visionary.
Amar Singhji meets Pranav Mukherjee ,one of the top Congress leaders late in the night—A breaking news on one of the news channel.
Appears Amar singhji is now exploring the other options of political tie ups.
Wish Amar Singhji all success in his endeavours.
He will be a great asset to any political outfit—-The man of extra ordinary courage and a great strategist
God bless Amar Singhji and Amitabh Bachchan
Hellow BigBachchan Sir,
Please forgive me opinion if this does not go well with you!!!
I feel that Abhishek is more a comedian who has taken to acting, unlike you who is a perfect actor who can do comedy as well.
“My father being a great anchor had advised me some tips to handle a game show. Tip no.1: be good to your contestants. Tip no. 2: Be and make them comfortable. Tip no. 3: Always enjoy the game you are hosting,” says jr AB.
and when asked about what is the tradition to host a show on small screen, he says, “Well, I am thrilled to continue following the tradition and you never know our coming generation too will keep up the same (laughs).
great comments!!!
with warm regards

Hi Mr Bachchan,
Would you like to give a message to the mumbaikars in the spate of increasing suicides happening in the city over last couple of days??
hi amitabh sir ….
i am first time visiting on ur blog… it is very nice to see u the words of ur paa on the blog….i am one of ur fan …sir i a very small for u but ….u r entertaning us from 40 years…& ur in our heart in various charecters………….i wish to god tht i want to see u sir off screen in my whole life…….thank u sir
an excellent comment Phyllis and it gets to the heart of some of the things I was saying. When Amitji met Modi he made the latter acceptable for a number of people. Whether Modi should be so is another matter and worthy of debate but Amitji’s intervention did tilt the balance in one direction for many.

Immune Diseases
The key to a healthy immune system is its remarkable ability to distinguish between the body’s own cells (self) and foreign cells (nonself). The body’s immune defenses normally coexist peacefully with cells that carry distinctive “self” marker molecules. But when immune defenders encounter cells or organisms carrying markers that say “foreign,” they quickly launch an attack.
Anything that can trigger this immune response is called an antigen. An antigen can be a microbe such as a virus, or even a part of a microbe. Tissues or cells from another person (except an identical twin) also carry nonself markers and act as antigens. This explains why tissue transplants may be rejected.
Antibodies are the proteins that can recognize (match) specific antigens. An antibody matches an antigen much as a key matches a lock. Whenever antigen and antibody interlock, the antibody marks the antigen for destruction.
Each antibody is made up of two identical heavy chains and two identical light chains, shaped to form a Y.
The sections that make up the tips of the Y’s arms vary greatly from one antibody to another; this is called the variable region. It is these unique contours in the antigen-binding site that allow the antibody to recognize a matching antigen.
The stem of the Y links the antibody to other participants in the immune defenses. This area is identical in all antibodies of the same class–for instance, all IgEs–and is called the constant region.
Antibodies belong to a family of large protein molecules known as immunoglobulins. Different classes play different roles in the immune defense strategy. Scientists have identified nine chemically distinct classes of human immunoglobulins: four kinds of IgG and two kinds of IgA, plus IgM, IgE, and IgD.
Immunoglobulins G, D, and E are similar in appearance.
IgG, the major immunoglobulin in the blood, is also able to enter tissue spaces; it works efficiently to coat microorganisms, speeding their destruction by other cells in the immune system.
IgD is almost exclusively found inserted into the membrane of B cells, where it somehow regulates the cell’s activation.
IgE is normally present in only trace amounts, but it is responsible for the symptoms of allergy.
IgA–a doublet–guards the entrance to the body. It concentrates in body fluids such as tears, saliva, and secretions of the respiratory and gastrointestinal tracts.
IgM usually combines in star-shaped clusters. It tends to remain in the bloodstream, where it is very effective in killing bacteria.

Abhishek’s Bingo will make its debut on Colors channel on Saturday, the 23rd Jan at 9 p.m.
My dearest Mr Bachchan,
Hoping you will be in far better health today and taking great care through your strenuous activities!! Your back has been behaving and not beckoning for so long, lets hope it recovers soon.
The latest NDTV interview with Barkha was as invigorating to watch as you had claimed it was to partake! I always say that I prefer you in interviews to films at times; speaking with substance is an art that you have conquered unequivocally!
Especially the conversational style between you made for a candid and informative exchange. Wasn’t it a pleasant touch that she complied with your questions on conscientious reportage etc. Questions reflected to the questioner in the way you did broadens the scope for wholesome discussion. Clearly a lot of good already stems from the ideology behind Rann.
But one apprehension that I must be entirely straightforward in voicing is the distinct air of defeatism in some of your replies which is perhaps in conjunction with recent days. ‘Lying down and accepting’ public and media scrutiny to the extreme level that you face it, was one such concern. I just believe one reserves the right to protect their liberty or at least uphold the endeavour for as long as possible! And of course the end note suggesting an uncertain future for your career, was really a heart wrench and a surprise in tack for me. We are so accustomed to you relishing challenges and claiming you will work as long as you can stand - and these are claims you made very recently. Selfishly keeping you in the public eye is not the objective but, I worry about the basis for the looming uncertainly.
Indeed your ‘tolerance’ towards people, through adversity and in situations is paramount. Your turbulent life story exemplifies this and many more exceptional characteristics. So I beseech you never to allow your ‘perseverance’ to wane. Keeping our hopes flourishing is the only impetus we have to persevere.
Incidentally I was oblivious to Naseruddin’s ‘stature’ having only seen him in the odd film?! Of course one actor has the right to comment on another’s work, but your adorably humble reaction and deference to him elevates your overall ‘stature’ way beyond the remit of the celestial sphere! You are the brightest star with the warmest heart and THAT is of primary importance to everyone!
It must be nearly ‘Rann time‘, so good luck and I sincerely hope enjoying the fruit of your labour leaves you satisfied and certain of it’s success.
Be well and be with my love,
Jasmine
xx
Dear Amit Bhaiya,

You need not be apprehensive at all whether it is Rann or Bingo. The fan club of yours are so huge, incuding me since 1975-76…and many more who might be older to me will go for the shows..
warm regards,
Archana
Mr Narendra Modi, the Honourable Chief Minister of India’s rapidly developing state Gujarat and held all over the world as the most competent , dedicated and successful Head of state needs no certificate from any individual or authority as he has a solid backing of millions of his countrymen .
Greetings and best wishes to Kashmiraji, Sharmila, Jasmine, Zainab, Ramanathan, Aishwarya, Vandana, Phyllis, Pettssy, Devkishin, Angel, Renate and all other friends here.
Dear Amitji,
Good Evening,
I hope today finds you feeling much better and vastly improved from last night’s head throbs, nose sniffles and back pains.
That was a remarkable feat covering the vast number of interviews, wonder if you were doing it in your sleep, as well!
So sad Mr Shah’s remark was unkindly towards you but you were very gracious to have taken it in such good spirit and replied in such a humorous way. It truly reflects your strength of character.
Best wishes and success to Abhishek’s 1st TV Game show – You being there will certainly fill him with delight and confidence. Have a lovely evening.
Didn’t know about the contaminated blood transfusion you had at the time of your accident. Thank God you came through safely despite this unfortunate occurrence. Has this left you with everlasting side effects? Similar mistakes were made in the UK in the 80’s when blood from USA was contaminated with HIV virus and given to Haemophilia patients, many suffered badly.
Pease take extra care of yourself especially your liver. May the Lord be with you at all times and shower you with His blessings.
With love and affection,
Brenda

I beg to disagree when you say that ”Amitabhji’s intervention did tilt the balance—”
What about the thumping majority the BJP Party got in last three Assembly elections in state of Gujarat under the stewardship of Mr. Modi—A record in itself!
The Modi Government will not be dislodged in another 10 years.
Modi, like any other politician on this planet is not here to serve but to enjoy power for as long as possible. Please check stats & figures on Gujerat’s rural poor, illiterate & narrow-minded fundamentalists. If Gujerat is still held in high regard it is due to its sages, artisans & entrepreneurs - most of whom are settled abroad.
Modi, like Thakerays, is a mass murderer. For some strange reason (the right price? ) Mr Bachchan likes keeping such company.
Hello Amitabhji and Jayaji,
All the Best for Rann and Bingo. Hope Abishek will come out in flying colors for Bingo.
Regards to you and Jayaji.

Hi Amitji,
Take care.
Dr Pravin P Patel.
Toronto originally from India the best.
I hold all political leaders who created linguistic states, responsible for sowing the seeds of disunity and regionalism in our country.
The present tribe of young leaders, particularly in most advanced and economically developed state Maharashtra, are unnecessarily playing up local language card which will not serve any useful purpose. I would instead advise them to set up offices for redressing the grievances of the locals, particularly maharashtrians who are being harassed and exploited by the corrupt and the inefficient.
Hi Amitji,
Waiting for Bingo starting tomorrow, so is the nation with crossed fingers!!
God bless ‘Abhi’ may this first show of his bring him fame and name on Indian Telivision.
Best wishes to him and to u too.

Wonderful comment! Thank you!

does abhi or ash care for indians the way salman does? read..
The story goes that Sallu was so touched by his fan and his family’s plight that he not only helped him through the show with the money earned (one of the tasks to prove the fan’s loyalty and admiration for the star) multiplied by thousands to raise funds, he even went a step ahead and announced that he will fund the operation of his blind wife and the education of his three daughters. Well, well, now that is something only Salman can do.
But wait, if you are thinking that Salman only made people emotional on the show, think again. Rock star as he is, Salman had a rollicking time with host Karan Johar as well! Catch the star today on Lift Kara De, at 8 pm.
ur the real hero sir

This is not the India of older times when the likes of Alexander,Temoor Lang and Babar invaded this country . We have now strong leaders like Narendra Modi, Bal Thackeray and others who will not allow any invaders to enter this country.
Beware this is country of Subhash Chandra Bose,Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Bhagat Singh and those who dared to attack it will be destroyed .
good night sir.
The position of Share button is not that impressive. Maybe if after your signature it is present will work wonders. Anyways, it was a free suggestion from a free man. Another subject: Today I watched your advt. about upcoming Dance India Dance where you are visiting soon. Will say the advt. background And the ceiling too good. The advt. itself was very impressive specially when you throw Teen Patti - fantastic. That is HERO And it was impressive But I wish you were wearing Ray Ban or any other glass. I wish.

HELLO SIR,
I READ UR STATEMENT ABOUT NASURIDIN SHAH, HE COOMENT ABOUT U, I AHVE TWO ANSWER FOR HIM
1) I THINK SO NASURIDIN SHAH HAD NOT WATCHED UR PAA MOVIE. OR
DON”T KNOW WHAT IS ACTING. HE NEED TO LEARN WHAT IS ACTING OR HE SHOULD RETIRE.
2) SIR, ONCE I WAS READING STATEMENT OF SUNILGAVASKAR SIR, HE WAS GIVING COMMENT TO SHARUKHKHAN SIR ABOUT IPL THAT HE DONT KNOW FORMATE OF GAME OR SOMETHING LIKETAHT…
SO I LIKE THE ANSWER SHARUKHSIR GAVE TO SUNILGAVASKARSIR WAS
IF WANT TO COMMENT ANYTHING ABOUT MY TEAM THAN WHY U DONT BUY UR OWN TEAM. THNKS SIR…
Amitabji,
So ur Interview with Mrs Dutta yesterday. I agree with some of your views but i resent some. In todays world media can be called as a speck of a flame that needs three ingrediants to burst into fire, Some people have mastered only giving the two, but some try their best not to given into the triangle but alas thy are conqured and the suffocated inside the triangle of media…. cant blame them…Survival of the fittest in todays multi billion industry fueled by the constant curosity of the consumers like us… ANy way Kudos for Rann , have seen the rushes waitin for the film,
All the best and keep blooging

Hello, Sir…Its really amazing to see that you are so humble and modest towards everyone. A great actor like Naseeruddin Shah hasn’t got the attention and recognition that he deserves in his life..I think that is the only reason for these kind of statements..There is only one Amitabh Bachchan and I guess people should start living with this fact.
