We now have tax exemption on PAA from several States - West Bengal, Gujarat through confirmed letters and Delhi and Maharashtra on the anvil with applications made and awaiting results. Karnataka too has been applied for. The appreciation for the film still keeps pouring in and many that have only just seen it send in complimentary messages and of how they were able to just sneak in to the theatre after getting the last 3 tickets available for the show !! I saw it for the 5th time last night at Ahmedabad and still even though it is my film, could not help but marvel how the film still endears itself to the viewer. Heart and soul have no substitute. It is either there or not. Paa has that unique quality of both heart and soul and its credit must must go to Balki, for the intelligence with which he put the whole film together.
Tomorrow the Apsara awards and day after the Screen. Teen Patti designs a stage show at one of them as a promotion activity. I go down to the venue to rehearse. I do my bit and move away and sit and ponder what this whole new world of events has become. Hundreds of people now make a very comfortable livelihood from this act that had looked singular and most ineffective in the years that have gone by. Now there are companies handling set designs, choreographers that lighten up the moves for the performances that take place, lighting, sound, camera and TV producers, assistants that shall run and manage the show, security personnel in their impressive uniforms and walkie talkies and electronic communication devices … it is an institution by itself. And all of it to reward excellence in such a manner that it makes a good and profitable TV show. Whether it be the Oscars or any other ‘cars, it is a given that TV shall be the guiding force that shall dictate its presence. Television has become bigger than film and all other form of entertainment. Every aspect of it is there in our faces 24/7. Satellite and terrestrial connection has become now the connector of life virtually. Information and entertainment are but the two most important aspects of our modern existence. remove them and life would come to an uncomfortable standstill. And they are every where now. In your home, on the streets, in your car, at the airports, in the plane, on your mobile …
Where next ??
Sanjay Bangar, Indian cricket cap, prominent representative of the national team, walking past Jalsa with his family incognito sends in a message to take some keep sake photographs. I go out and meet him and oblige. I am surprised at the fact that he moves around without notice. He played for India, he contributed in our victories in the game and today .. not there. I ask him the score on the tri series being played in Bangladesh and on the India- Bangladesh match on right now in a day night schedule, where we were fairing not too well and he replies that he is not aware of anything .. who where why how .. nothing.
Lives of sportsmen are limited and sad. They contribute and then when they are no longer productive, discarded and forgotten. Vinod Kambli during Bigg Boss and during private discussions had similar emotions. An injury, an unfortunate bad day on the field and you are out. Left to the wolves virtually. There is no support from any quarter. I read many dismayed comments from columnists that review our cricket team and read their anguish at the poor performances of the players being affected by the finances that seem to have overtaken all else in their lives. And I wonder. Their lives are so limited. Age and health take over and suddenly you are not in contention. Peak periods never last for some years in a life that has many decades to cross. So if they do make hay while the sun shines is it a crime ?? Would we not all want to secure our futures if and when we have an opportunity. A debate would give excellent views. Anyone …??
The children return tomorrow and that innocent laughter and inquisitive questioning shall have to wait till their next arrival. And my arrival next shall be in the morrow too ..
Sleep well my dears ..
Amitabh Bachchan

Paa deserves Tax exemptions. Great to know that other states are following the suit.
Two states viz .Gujarat and West Bengal have already made ”Paa” tax free and Maharashtra and Delhi are likely to grant exemption shortly. Very soon more and more State Governments will come forward to grant tax exemption to ”Paa”
This decision of State Governments proves beyond any doubt that ”Paa” is an exceptional film
Congrats ABCL .

Dear Mr Bachchan
Yes, what you say about the short professional lives of sportsmen is so painful and true. Their original careers end at a time when most other people are just getting into their stride, and many have devoted their lives so intensely to perfecting their chosen sport that they may be lacking in education or other forms of training that would qualify them for the ‘rat race’. So who can blame them for maximising their earnings during the relatively brief glory days.
Even then, it must be very hard psychologically to cope with life out of the limelight, and experiencing the dwindling of the awesome sporting prowess that made them famous.
The same applies to those in highly physical disciplines in the arts - such as ballet dancers - whose careers are very arduous and precarious and injury prone, and also liable to end at a very early age.
And of course actresses have it very tough in comparison to men… their careers are WAAAAY more dependent on looking young and beautiful.
And finally let’s hear it for the animals that we compel to take part in a sporting career - such as horses and dogs. They have absolutely no choice in the matter, and some are most callously discarded if they are not winners or when age and injury put an end to their success.
Golly, I’m in a cheerful mood tonight. Maybe brought on by the utterly miserable weather… as so many others have noted… we are in the middle of the worst spell of bitter cold for 30 years… and facing at least ANOTHER 12 DAYS of this agony.
All we have to keep us warm is our love… and mine always burns fiercely for you..
Love in greatest abundance from a shivering whimpering Daisy

PS And I so much agree with Jasmine from London earlier today, in her plea for Madhushala to be on sale at the Paris reading in June.
I am normally good at sourcing books on the internet, but I have dismally failed to find ANYWHERE selling this precious volume.
Do any members of FmXt have any inspiration??

where have the children gone?
Everyone has a right ‘to make hay while the sun shines’,
to secure one’s future as you have rightly put it.
Sanjay Bangar plays for Railways team in Ranji Trophy..He scored a big hundred—probably 166– in one of the Test Matches. He is one of the few cricketers who open batting as well as bowling for their team.
He is a quiet person; but you made his day today by coming out from Jalsa for keep sake photographs.
Hi mr bachchan
how are u. Iam waiting to hear from u. I loved u in paa. I always see ur old movies which come on tv.it’s always a pleasure to watch u. I just want to tell u to take care of ur health becoz legend like u is born once in a while.
Have a good time at award ceremony and win too.
With lot of good wishes and love.

I think Sanjay Bankar is the Luckiest Person on earth. He got his privacy back.
Been there, seen it, lost it for a while and got it back - Privacy.
The most precious thing in the modern world is the privacy. I think he is the most luckiest dude who can take his family out without being noticed or harassed.
His name and his contribution to Indian Cricket can never be forgotten.
In India we as a society - our responses to success and failures are very extreme. We only love success, we do not understand or treat failures with respect, dignity and compassion it deserves. We will elevate all those who are successful among the stars - and it will take one failure to turn them into dust.
Look what they did to Chetan Sharma - One ball destroyed his life.
They will not be forgiven but can be easily forgotten. All this name and fame business is very risky. As we say in Hindi ” Sub Maya Hai”
This song of yours says it all - Opening song from Kabhie Kabhie

Amitabhji by essaying Auro’s role you have secured your Best Actor Award at almost all Film Awards functions.
It was a challenging role and no other actor could have done justice to this difficult character.
dear amitji,
greetings, u r right that today life without tv is unthinkable, satellite television is the order of the day, life without this medium of entertainment and information would be boring to say the least, yes sportsmen in India have a very small shelf life, they r easily forgotten, u mentioned sanjay bhangar and vinod kambli who were both talented and on their days have brought lot of glory to the nation on the cricket field, the govt. can definitely give a decent pension to sportsmen from all disciplines who have represented our country at some point or the other in recognition of the services rendered by them,

Amit ji,
I ALSO DO NOT KNOW WHAT PAA BEING TAX EXEMPT MEANS, MAYBE SOMEONE WILL ENLIGHTEN US!
WISHING YOU ALL THE BEST FOR THE UPCOMING AWARDS CEREMONY.
YOU WILL BE SAD THAT THE GRANDCHILDREN ARE LEAVING BUT NEXT TIME THEY RETURN THEY WILL AMAZE YOU EVEN MORE WITH WHAT THEY LEARN IN A FEW WEEKS. IF ONLY OUR BRAINS COULD ABSORB AS MUCH INFORMATION!

SLEEP WELL
LOTS OF LOVE (as always)

Dearest Amit ji,
Namaskar!!!
Congratulations! Paa is tax free now. Hopefully, it will be tax free all over the country.
We are still waiting to hear more about Teen Patti. I have read a little of the plot but would like to know more about it.
Love you…
hello amitji……
Oh yes the Wide World Of Sports…it is a shame that the athlete is like the wind..blows wherever it will and goes away..few have made it to the top and some have been careless with all of the money.fame.and endorsements.
Where some take all for granted there are those who need for the sake of support and survival. It is a very different ‘time zone’ for one to be in. And in any industry the mighty fall and the underdog rises to take their place like shifting sands.
One can only say whatever Blessing comes be wise. Blessing is there entrusted to share and to use as one needs arise. And the other is Envy. If one envies what his neighbor has and covets it for his own he is most unfortunate.
We are not here to compare ourselves with ourselves or be critical of what man may have and another to suffer. We are called to do what we can when we can through channels in place for distribution. We cannot solve all of the worlds problems we can give to what we have on our hearts.
Forgive me for sermonizing. But I have seen a man grow like green grass and wither away after all is spent.
so tax exemption is a small part for whatever benefit. I do not take issue of why..that is not my place to decide. *God bless us all*
Dear Mr. Bachchan
It all depends on how much ‘hay’ we are talking about. For some a little ‘hay’ goes a long way depending on their needs and for some a lot of ‘hay’ too is not enough. Maybe Mr. Bangar does not need a lot of ‘hay’ and what is wrong in being just an ordinary citizen. It is not a crime if he is not recognized, he did his duty and is now living his life. There are a lot of people who have contributed more to society than sportsmen and entertainers and are happy with a little ‘hay’ and not being recognized. My father’s favorite dialogue as we grew up was “why do people need a lot of money”, and he lived his life as a simple man. Though he was recognized by millions of people he would not hesitate to go by a bike if needed and milk the cows if needed and make the best Pakodas when it is raining. Some people are very happy living that way Mr. Bachchan……I sound repetitive but my two cents again. I still have about 7 more hours before I can sleep..

Paa very boldly depicts how a child suffering from a deadly disease can live a normal life in society. it is a bold subject handled very sensitively by the director.
such films are rarely made .
dear sir,
i sincerely hope you get all the best actor awards for this year as i dont feel anyone comes close to your performance in paa .
fully agree with your views on cricketers , ofcourse they should not be questioned if they are making good money as their sporting lifes are very limited .they deserve all the money they make and more as they are the 11 talented individuals selected from the millions like us who can hit a six or take a wicket, and the kind of pressure they take is unbeliveable thousands watching on the ground and millions connected thru television from all around the globe. , one mistake and they loose their wicket and their houses are stoned or families abused etc .i feel they deserve to make hay as any common man does the same for his future and family .

vinod

Dear Amitji,
So happy for you and PAA/Auro that the film has received tax exemption - this means that ticket prices are cheaper at the cinema and more people can afford to go watch again and again - please correct me if I am wrong.
It really is a shame and sad when our cricketers are literally dumped from sky high once they are no longer ‘performing’ - out of sight, out of mind. This treatment was meted out to the film stars also - thank goodness for television -
this has revived a lot of good actors who can now be seen on a lot of the drama serials.
All the best with the awards ceremonies and Life Time achievement and promotions for Rann and Teen Patti - looking forward to the releases.
Have the deleted scenes now been added to Paa? Would like to go watch again.
Good night and God Bless
Love and best wishes

My dearest Mr. Bachchan,
Many congratulations on the tax exemption PAA has been given from various quarters…and it is really impressive and delightful the great and continuous reactions of appreciation and praise that keep coming in…aim so happy for you and I do hoe it receives the maximum number of awards.
It is indeed a sad thing what these sportsmen go through in their short term professional time. It is so true that their professional career ends so rapidly and is even threatened to end sooner than usual if they are inflicted with any injury that affects their physical strength. It is then no crime at all if they try to cease this opportunity and secure their future and guarantee a safe tomorrow for themselves and their families.
Many congratulations on the life achievement awards and all best of luck with the promotional presentation to be made for Teen Patti.
You must be very excited about the arrival of the kids tomorrow…wish you will have a warm and enjoyable time together..
And I will be looking for your arrival too…

Sanjay Bangar is not a very popular cricketer. He played for India in Test Cricket as well as One dayers occasionally. His performance on West Indies tour was remarkable.
Very few individuals will recognise Sanjay Bangar in public as he always kept a low profile. He certainly will not be mobbed in any part of the country.
Dear Amitabh,
I’m a huge admirer of yours and a huge music fanatic. I am currently 19 years old and a huge fan of Hindi music. I have been waiting since I was 6 years old to hear the songs from Gayak (1996) that Big B cassetes had the rights to.

Please Big B, it is my dream to hear these songs in full and I have been praying/hoping for over 13 years for these songs and with no such luck or info!
Please Please listen to my plea and somehow get these songs to my heart just like your movies have filled a huge void in my life with gems like KKKG and Black. Itunes, youtube, online radio, tapes whichever format but please I can’t stand the wait. =[

Please don’t ignore this! =[=[

Dear Mr. Bachchan,
When a personality is not anymore in the public eyes, he or she is no longer an item and newcomers fill the loss. That is life ! This happened even for ordinary people when they rired , but they did not have the same oportunities to make so much money (like in sport, film industry, ….) and out of work it is not an
enjoyable life ! Finding the truth , first hand, about this, don’t complaint and
keep working , special when you are in such a great demand !!!!!
Honest, in your case , you can’t be forgotten and you will be happy for the rest of your life ! Good Luck on future events !

Congratulations on the tax exempt status but I still don’t really understand what that means. Yes, the aura of Auro will last a long, long time.
Good luck on those award shows and I hope the rehearsals for the stage show go well. You will be brilliant as always. I’m looking forward to seeing footage on the web hopefully.
That is true about the sports players. Of course I wouldn’t recognize a cricket player if I bumped into him. But American football players especially only last a few years because they wear themselves out or get injured. In many sports, you are considered ancient at the age of 35. So they have to be prepared for a long life ahead especially if they have families.
It’s too bad you have to say goodbye to the children so soon. Next time they will be even more grown and with more gadgets.
I’m glad your post was early this time and I hope you can catch up on rest.
You sleep well too. I have many hours to go.
Love,
Rochelle
# 36 - Devkishin,
Is this why PAA has been given a tax haven in at least two states across India so far ??
Though I applaud the awareness of such diseases and all sorts of other illnesses through the media etc, I need to therefore ask is PAA donating any proceeds to charities that support children with such causes and the treatment thereof ..
I need to apologise for being a little dense about this however I still don’t understand why PAA is tax exempt from certain states, it is still a commercial enterprise ??
Manish Parmar, UK.
Dear Amitji,
Congrats to Paa and you and Balki and all in the team of Paa, including Vidya and ABJr- for making a very nice movie and to top it all, now, tax free- in so many states.
I do not recollect this cricketer- Sanjay Bangar- I will have to look it up- it is sad and true- Shri Chandrashekhar, one time my favourite bowler, had a bad scooter accident and was on the scene/ road for hours before he got help- no one recognised him!!!! Sad but true- he lives a somewhat secluded life, I guess- so i do agree that they have secure their future- but present generations of cricketers not only make good money in cricket, but also in ads- which they did not have few years ago !!!
hope to see you tomorrow-
love and more…..

Thank you for making us part of you.

The general public is fickle minded. They adore you only until you are successful. Failure diminishes you from their mind. Its not sports alone - its in every medium that catches the world’s fancy.
How many actors have tasted success and then when the taste turns sour, are left lonely and sad. One must never give up, even if one is not always sucessful. To be remembered for what you are is more important than being remembered for your success.
It is very admirable of you to remember Sanjay Bangar and meet with him. Not many would have done so. I am sure he and his family would remember you with fondness because of this kind action of yours rather than because they met a renowned celebrity, a legend.
Wishing you love and laughter and peaceful rests.
B
Dear Mr Bachchan,
I liked one thing about tonight’s Post. You are relaxed. I wil have a good night’s sleep. Good night to you also and sleep well. My love and warm regards to you.
Jyoti
hello!!!!!!!
It’s great that paa is getting these tax breaks though I wish these had come earlier when it would have made a significant difference.
Seriously - with all due respect - do movies need tax exemption? The producers, actors, directors and others who make percentages off the movie already make a killing - and are quite wealthy to begin with. Is this really how state money should be spent? I can understand if you requested for a tax exemption, so that the proceeds and gains from that tax shelter can go to a charity or for some specific development projects in that state. To just get tax exemption so that you and others can make a bigger cut of the pie or declare it to be a bigger box office hit, is bordering on greed
Not to be harsh - I’m a fan as well -but I think it will be a nice gesture if you take that tax exemption and declare the proceeds will benefit the state or some charity - 100% - not some token amount etc.
any update on the DVD release of Paa?
Amitji, it is great to hear that PAA still is doing so well. Yes, past cricketers seem to disappear once they have retired. In Australia, many still play a vital role in the development of the game. Many take up TV commentary and some are in AIS where they teach young budding cricketers. Others as you said have totally disappeared from the limelight.
I personally see no reason why cricketers can’t be allowed to make extra money. Most are financially dependent on the game as it is their only profession.
Conflict arises when they have to decide whether they are playing for their country or for money‼
Dharmen
Dear Amitji,
Namaskaar! The lives of sportsmen are indeed limited and sad. So are the lives of many millions of people who were once able to give of themselves in many other professions…they end up the same way: unnoticed, uncelebrated, unappreciated and ignored. Many fight for their very day-to-day existence!
I pray that world cinema will prolong your professional life so that they may continue to celebrate and reward you. I hope that you will get every bit of recognition and praise you deserve, and never have to face a situation of neglect and loneliness…like so many others have been forced to do.
I love you.
Leela
Well - I don’t think we should be ‘pitying’ Sanjay Bangar. One doesn’t have to be an international celebrity recognized everywhere with 500 crores in swiss banks to be considered successful. There are lot of ‘unkown’, unrecognized folks in the world who have made a huge impact and died without ever anybody even realizing that they did… Success is really about finding inner peace and a sense of satisfaction with oneself. So I salute Sanjay Bangar actually - he’s managed something that many many celebrities actually desire (in Hollywood at least there are artists who would give anything to be left alone and not recognized) - despite being an international cricketer, he managed to get back his life and be himself.
Regarding the tax exemption: hopefully all of that tax free loot is going to some useful, low-overhead charities ?
Good Job Sir for getting the film tax exempt as it will reach more masses. It is a path breaking film in many ways. I am telling you to tell Balki he MUST GO TO THE AWARDS CEREMONY WITH THE WHOLE TEAM and you agreed on day 619 (i) comment 51.
Love you Sir and good night, will miss Navya and Agastya as well

Amitji,
Great to see PAA still getting recognition and Tax relief, finally..is PAA still running in the cinema there, its been removed here, which is a shame..
Nice to see your comment on the cricketers, the same is with all sports personalities, its a shame that their stardom is short lived..
Wishing you all the best for tommorrow, how you have a great day with the kids and family..
Good luck with the award ceremonies too.
All the best always

Hi there,
I was talking to some friends who saw Paa and they are convinced that you are going to sweep all the award ceremonies because of your amazing performance. Hope you win the awards you deserve!!
I was also wondering if you had information on your movie Johnny Mastana. You’ve said in interviews that it is ready for release yet I have not heard or seen anything about its release date. It seems like an interesting story so I wanted to know if it is releasing anytime soon.
And of course I want to share the group that I started called “HELP MEHVEEN MEET AMITABH”, which about 240 people have joined urging you to meet me!! I figured that I have loved you for 5 years out of my 20 years of existence and I need to take measures to meet you and I hope this will do the trick! I am going to post this group (hopefuly as it grows larger and larger) everyday on your blog until you somehow contact me, either via email, webcam, phone, so we can arrange to meet!
So here is the link, I hope you’ll take 2 minutes out of your busy day to look at it!
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=174943739550&ref=ts
I wholeheartedly wish with every fiber of my being that I could meet you. I keep watching interviews with you on bollywood hungama, cnn-ibn, etc. and I can barely stop myself from buying a ticket to Mumbai and camping outside of your house.
I really want to know how you stand being so damn gorgeous. I mean do you know how gorgeous you are? I hope one day that I can see you in person because I know someone who saw you in real life and she said you look better in person and that just flabbergasts me. I mean if you are so gorgeous on screen, then people who see you in person are probably blinded by your gorgeousness! I was watching some of your performances and I literally was dumbfounded by your amazing gorgeousness!
Ok well I hope you click on the link and make my dream come true!!
Hope I get a response!
Love you lots and lots and lots,
Mehveen

ps. I love you and like I said you are simply gorgeous!
(edited sorry)
This is excellent. I caught the coverage about Mr. Modi and your comments regarding Gujarat and its progress. i think it is a very generous offer to lend your voice and face to Gujarat.
i am pleased to hear of tax exemption. The film’s broad-based appeal seems to me because it is a family film very similar to the golden days yet with a sprinkle of modernity. i believe that there is a contingent out there who love such films that tug firmly at our heartstrings..
Keep on winning…www.winningkarma.wordpress.com
Dear Manishbhai, I don’t think you have read my message, wishing you A Very happy Birthday. My Brother was also born in January 2nd and my daughter on 25th.
Hope you had a lovely day. It is bitterly cold to go out and celebrate, isn’t it?
Somehow my comments are being erased. I do not know why?
Regarding the tax exemption of the film PAA. I would have thought that it has received this, so that more people can go and see the movie, and more people are aware of the disease. I think so, I don’t know if there is another reason for it or not.
Daisy M, I would love to get the new version of the book Madhushala. I am going to Mumbai soon, if there is a any way I can parcel a few at a time, I will definitely bare you in mind. I would like to know the book shop, where you can get this book.
I am not back in U.K. till the end of march. I AM taking my laptop with on my travels so hopefully will be in touch.
It is very sad to know that life of sportsmen is limited. I think everyone’s life is limited. Matlub Khatam, Aap bhi Khatam!!! The whole world is like that. People can be very nice to you, when they need something from you. People are selfish. Once they have used you and they know that this is all we can get, they will dump you. There are a handful of people who are with you when you need them. And they do not expect anything back at all. I have been lucky to know a very few.
I better go to bed as I have a busy day tomorrow and the day after. The weather is too cold. Nice and warm indoors, but have to go to work as too many people depend on us.
Pranams to you Dear Sir, your Family and all the EF.
DEAR AMITABHJI,
It is heartening to note that PAA is getting tax free in other states also apart from gujrat. The movie has been given tax free status on account of various reason:
Paa is a neat, clean and extraordinary movie .its hero, a school student, has genetic disorders but he can still perform better than normal child and wins first prize in competition in the school .This should be a very encouraging factor for the children of this country who have genetic disorders.State governments have the discertion to wave ENTERTAINMENT TAX so that tickets for this extraordinary movie reach poorest of the poor and that should induce more and more people to watch this movie.
Sanjay bangar is luky that he prevailed upon you to spare some precious moments of yours and give him and his family YOUR BLESSINGS IN HIS FUTURE ENDEAVOURS.
Life of sportspersons is limited and sad.But life of crickters is stll bright because if they wish they can remain productive for years together.i quote a few names who are still very very productive and they eat, breath and sleep with cricket day in and day out.
look at the names:
SUNIL GAVASKAR,RAVI SHASTRI,HARSHA BHOGLE,SANDEEP PATIL,CHETAN CHAVAN,MADAN LAL,YASH PAL SHARMA,RAVINDER CHADHA,SUNIL WASAN,BISHAN BEDI, KIRTI AZAAD,MOHINDER AMARNATH,SIVAKRISHNAN,NAVJODH SINGH SIDHU AND MOHD. AZARUDIN,KIRAN MOREETC.ETC . THESE PLAYERS ARE STILL VERY VERY PRODUCTIVE AND STILL VERY ACTIVE TO PROMOTE INDIAN CRICKET.SIDHU AND AZZARUDIN ARE DOING THEIR NATIONAL DUTY IN THE INDIAN PARLIAMENT.
SOME CRICKTERS ARE BUSY IN THEIR OTHER PROFESSIONS AS THEIR CRICKET BACKGROUND HAVE GAINFULLY HELPED THEM IN OTHER FIELDS. AJIT WADEKAR RETIRED AS THE GENERAL MANAGER FROM STATE BANK OF INDIA A COUPLE OF YEARS BACK.EARLIER HE WAS THE DEPUTY GENERAL MANAGER ,HEADING THE PUBLC RELATIONS DEPARTMENT OF STATE BANKS PUBLIC RELATIONS DEPARTMENT AT THEIR HEADQUARTERS IN BOMBAY AND HAS BEEN THE MOST SUCCESSFULL BANKER AS HE WAS THE MOST SUSSESSFUL CAPTION OF INDIAN TEAM IN THE SEVENTIES
WADEKAR WHO RETIRED A FEW YEARS BACK FROM NATIONS PREMIUM BANK WAS EXTREMELY POPULAR WITH THE FOURTH ESTATE AND OTHER ELECTRONICS MEDIA AND I KNOW HE MANAGED CRORES OF RS .FREE PUBLICITY FOR THE BANK FOR MANY YEARS AT A STRECH.
I FEEL IF ONE HAS THE WILL AND DETERMINATION ,ONE CAN DO WONDERS .
AMITABHJI, ALL THE BEST FOR APSARA AND SCREEN AWARDS,
LOVE ALWAYS, SIR.
RAJINDER SEHGAL
Lakshmi Jag, a wonderful comment. Simple leaving is the best. No expectations, no problems. Difficult but once put to practice an enjoyable life.Pranams.
Dear Amitji.
Congratulations on the good news of your film ‘Paa’ being given the tax exemption in various states. But, why not across the whole of India? Were there certain criteria your film had to meet to qualify for this status or did it come as a wonderful surprise for you? Whichever way, you certainly deserve this honour greatly and may it win all the Awards nominated.
Hope your day goes wonderfully well tomorrow with the rehearsals and for the 2 Awards shows and promotions for your next film. It would be lovely to see some pictures of you holding your award. Please, if possible.
Hoping you have a peaceful night sleep and may the Good Lord take care of you.
With love & prayers,
Brenda
Simple living not leaving!!!!
dear sir,
thanks for your concern for cricketers who have been forgotten….lets start a charitable foundation for all such folks and we all that is you and the extended family of yours make their contributions to the foundation on a regular basis and help people who have reached a bad or a sad end…….in fact, we can start a second one for the film fraternity as well…..i dont mean the actors but the people behind and around the camera…….think about it..lets have a debate

My very dear Mr Bachchan,
Of course, I remembered the Apsara awards tomorrow after posting my last comment. You must be so familiar with the process by now, but I will still warmly congratulate you. Each award is so richly deserved and yet so inadequate as an emblem of the love and appreciation your nation has for you. But, until there is a better form of praise for the most adored actor; may there be many more lifetime awards and I do hope you enjoy the ceremony.
Its so adorable that you are still surprised at merit of your own perfromance in PAA, whoever casts aspersions on your humility needs to seriously reconsider. Balki is a genius, but never doubt that you made PAA every bit as special as it is. Ultimately it’s Auro who lives on in the hearts and minds of the viewer, so please never let other peoples embittered taunts rob you of right to stand proud!
You raise another valuable point about the short shelf life of Sports professionals in general. Two of my friends partners having played football throughout their youth, now in their late twenties/ early thirties, prepare for retirement within their 10 year plan to make way for the nimble limbed eighteen year olds eager to fill their boots!
There is an inherent flaw in the technique of recruiting sportspeople. Many are scouted for their talent at such a very tender age and thrust straight into the dizzy heights of fame and adoration. They lack formal education or the time to cultivate other skills, or indeed ‘life skills’ in general because like all celebrities their precarious public lives take precedence. They too are a national property until their age ruthlessly disqualifies them and puts them at a loss. Many do not know how to manage the vast sums of money they earn at their peak, its no wonder they plead poverty as soon as the hay days pass!
It must be soul destroying to lose your career, public status and your wealth prematurely in one fell swoop. Nowadays reality television gathers the overspill of resting sportsman and sadly for many, its there only chance to pave their wave into another public life in the same way resting actors and singers do to revive their careers. Who would have thought reality TV would be a saving grace; but it is for some!
Poor Vinod Kambli was indeed a broken man and you consoled him so compassionately as with all the others. I do hope you and BB3 helped him regain some self confidence if nothing else.
A pity your little gems have to leave you, just as you retuned from Gujarat, but I’m sure they will not keep away from their beloved Nana for long.
I could continue on about the growth of television, your mind is certainly on top form today; but will return in the morrow.
The treacherous weather prevented me going to watch ‘3 Idiots’, the transport was terrible and not worth the risk. The ambiance out there is very bleak so, I stayed home to gravitate to my dear Mr Bachchan and toast myself on the warmth from his heart and you know I’m positively glowing.
Good night, sleep well too ‘my dear’ and prepare to dazzle at your awards ceremony.
Love you with all my heart and soul,
Jasmine

Hello Mr. Bachchan! How wonderful that you chose to speak about sports in tonight’s blog! I have just had the most incredible day at work and the reason is sports related!
First, let me say that I do not think that it is a ‘crime’ for a
sportsman to ‘make hay’…I think that many of us enjoy seeing our sports legends doing ‘product endorsements’ and that sort of thing. It’s very true that their time is limited, so they need to plan ahead and like you said, ‘make hay while the sun shines’…also need to point out that with these lucrative product endorsement deals comes a certain responsibility to the adoring public as well as to the companies paying out the big bucks…I only have two words to say about that: Tiger Woods…
Now, back to why your lovely blog ties in with my lovely day at work…as well as this evening’s activities…
As you know, Sir, I am a Texan by birth. I went to college at the University of Texas…where the Texas Longhorn Football team plays…Now, I have to tell you all that in Texas, football is not just a game…it’s a religion. Tonight…my so far undefeated Texas Longhorns will play the also undefeated Alabama Crimson Tide in the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME…This morning, I got dressed for work by putting on my Texas Longhorn T-shirt, my Texas Longhorn Sweatshirt with jeans…and then? I put a little-bitty Texas Longhorn decal on my right cheek - the side of me that faces my customers in the mail truck…HA HA HA! Everyone here is rooting for Alabama…most everyone here is FROM Alabama…so how great can it be? THEY all left!!! Is it wrong to pray that my football team wins tonight? Gosh, I hope not…because I most certainly have been and will continue to pray until the bitter end of tonight’s game…It starts in about 1 1/2 hours from right now…my heart is pounding so hard. REALLY, REALLY HARD…
I am not an irresponsible person…Please know that I pray, everyday, for world peace and for an end to world hunger…and I pray that no animals will be abused or go hungry or be used for human consumption of any kind - be it shoes/purses/food - what have you…so I hope God won’t mind if I also pray that the TEXAS LONGHORNS WIN THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME tonight…If the mood strikes any of my friends out there in cyber-land…
I will most certainly appreciate your prayers as well…as long as you are praying for TEXAS. Again, I must say that
I hope praying for a sporting event isn’t wrong…and if it is?
Well, then…I’m sorry, but I can’t help it. Football is not just a game to me…you can take the girl out of TEXAS, but you can’t take TEXAS out of the girl!
Amitji,
How well you write!!!! Amazes me!!!!
Gujarat.. so well warm welcome you got, took me back to my visit to BAPS temple, when it was under construction, my father-in-law physically stayed there and help surpervise the temple.. that was some 20 yrs back…was so impressed by the cleaniness of Gandhinagar, and now going green… good to know that.
Sad to read about what happens to all the great sportsmen, but that’s the harsh reality of their short span career of been a sportsmen.
OMG .. I too felt that Sherman Joshi acted so well in 3 Idiots specially at the interview scene.
3 Idiots is fast funfilled movie, had a great opening all over the world, but for me PAA is far more a superior film in all aspects, it may not have generated that much cash…but PAA is a first class A+++because Balki and Auro both passed with AA+ for the movie. haw!! haw!! is so well done!!! totally agree with unlike herolook, the look of Auro to voice of Auro… we somehow missed the real Amitji… just fantastic transformation and acting by you.. yes Mr. Balki.. did a great job too… but you made Auro look so real and natural!!! So huggable!!!
Happy Thoughts, love and peace.
Bena.. so today I would disclose my last name, I am a paka East African gujarati PATEL!!!!
PAA is worth of many awards. Good luck for upcoming award functions.

***DEVISHKIN-JI/DAY 625 @ # 304***
Thank you very much for that lovely link, Sir…I enjoyed watching it very much - I could understand what was being said! The entire night must have been outstanding!
The stage setting with the globe in the background that had India shining in white…The entire audience was standing while the lovely Queen Lata Mageshkar sang…thank you, Devkishin-ji for sharing this beautiful moment in time with me…’How great were those people’ indeed…
Bahut achaa lagaa…aur shukriya, Devkishin-ji.
The more you see ,
more you enjoy it
PAA
Thats a great news..tax exemption on PAA. Auro ka zaddoo chal gaya har taraf.
So far PAA has done really well. I am sure it will pick up the awards.

Paa definitely had the heart and soul! Due credit to all involved and ofcourse to Balki for putting it all so well together.
With the whole world at one’s finger tips, be it through the TV remote or via the keyboard and the web, has made the audience very savvy. A well managed event and its top class presentation will reflect directly in the viewing figures and without professional handling it is doomed for failure. This is the way of the fast moving competetive world.
Interesting to note that you obliged to Sanjay Bangar’s request from outside Prateeksha to meet you. I bet many of the EF are dreaming if only they could do the same.
Again, commercial factors such as TV viewing numbers, advertising and the sports personality’s skills and pulling power dictate his or her rewards. I agree that their lives are limited in this regard. There is nothing wrong in making hay while the sun shines. However the question does arise of how much hay does one need to make within that short opportunity just to secure one’s future? Is securing one’s future solely based on financial and material gains? I wonder…
And for now I’ll say Good Night. It’s been a long hard week with the freezing weather causing disruptions and looks like more snow is still to come.
Rajesh
Glad to read about the tax exemptions on Paa. Now it can reach a wider audience and Auros magic can do wonders to their hearts too
Wishing you the very best for the award functions .You are going to rock as always and will get some more awards
The kids going back will leave a void in the house but Iam sure they will be back soon more grown up and tech advanced
All the best and hope you sleep well

Dearest AB Sir,
Exactly..not only in cricket…in any field if a person is not of importance or past his prime he goes into obliviation,,
be it cricket;
be it government job;
be it films/entertainment;
be it music; or
BE IT LIFE….
That is the pity of this life…we run only after heart-throbs, and those past their prime languish in a corner…life takes its hard course…
But, that is life….
Sir, we only wish all have the sentiments that you carry…nice you came out and chatted with Sanjay Bangar…a quiet person…very efficient both with bat and ball…and even Sachin will vouch for it…could have played some more years for India…there are many more like him…J.P.Yadav, Amay Khurasiya et. al…but…but…
Thanks for your kindness, Sir.
Regards forever
Diljit
All of us seem to have always had a love affair with sports. If we don’t play it, we watch it and read about it and talk about it and argue about it. It’s normal.
The career of a sportsman is often a very short one. By the time they reach their mid to late-30s, retirement approaches. Some go into coaching, while others opt for a career in the media. Others go for something else. Many people who take part in sports think that they have what it takes to become a professional and make a full-time living from their chosen sport and this is particularly true of teenagers and younger amateurs who believe that their talent is what marks them out from the rest.
And indeed, if sports enthusiasts didn’t have self-belief and a determination to succeed, they’d fall at the first hurdle. Not only that, where would we find our next generation of sporting heroes? People like Tiger Woods, Roger Federer, Tendulkar, Waseem Akram and, closer to home, the likes of Andy Murray and Steven Gerrard are all sporting icons that have all successfully made the transition from amateur to professional but it isn’t as simple as having a God given talent and a steely determination to succeed, although they are both qualities that are common to all successful sports professionals.
For many, the dream of becoming a professional sportsperson tends to focus on the opportunity to earn a living, and often a highly lucrative one, out of doing something that they love and that they would ordinarily spend a lot of time doing anyway. However, the reality of turning from amateur to professional is a lot different.
A professional sportsperson, amidst dreams of superstardom, might not have stopped to think about the impact it will have upon his lifestyle. I believe that it is about the ability to be able to cope with being disciplined to look after your body when, perhaps, all of your friends are heading out for a night on the town. There’s the constant training too. Athletes, today, have never been fitter and alcohol and other substances which can harm have very little place in today’s super fit sports world. Diet too, is likely to be regimented and regulated throughout the career and it requires many personal sacrifices as well as professional ones.
I believe that these sports heroes should be mentally tough enough to withstand the pressures? This just doesn’t mean pressure in competition but external pressures such as limited freedom if one becomes famous and the ability to withstand media criticism and intense scrutiny throughout the career. They lose a lot of their privacy and so does their family whose privacy and behaviour, both past and present, is all under scrutiny from the prying eyes of the press.
A career as a professional sportsperson is very exciting and can often be extremely financially lucrative but for most sports, this career is over by mid 30s, barring a few exceptions, there are ups and downs along the way and for some it may even have their career cut short by injury. However, those that are determined to succeed should follow their dreams if they have set realistic goals as we all have only have one crack at life!!!
Love & prayers
Dearest AmitJi…
You should be voted for the best actor…..but these awards people…i dont trust them….i think they are like the media too…but still…lets just think positive…InshAllah.
Nice topic of discussion…..sportsmen really do have a short shelf life. Especially the sports that require fitness at a high level. Lest take football here in UK…after the peak years…many class footballers retire and are hardly ever heard of again. However the money made by them in the Premiership is beyond imagination…so most of them do secure a comfortable future for themselves.
Cricket is very different. With the intoduction of the IPL…we are observing a shift of world class players from the traditional tournaments i.e. one days and test matches to this new form of the game. MOney is a big pull factor here…and can you really blame these players?? Early retirement may be a frequent event in the next few years simply because cricket does not pay as handsomely as other sports forcing players to retire early so that they can make some capital before they are well and truly out the game.
And for the ones that cant make it to some prized tournament…end up in oblivion…Kambli is just one of them…there are hundreds more…but is this state better or the one chosen by a small minority who ruin the name of the game by selling info and fixing matches?
Hansie Cronje…renouned all-rounder…yet his name will go down in history in a very unfortunate manner.
Some take the shape as commentators….yet personally I do not like any player-turned-commentator from our part of the world. I feel they dont defend their countries enough. Whereas the Aussies hardly utter a negative for their side. Biased yes, but why not??? After all…your team is your team. Just my opinion. Boycott however is one i enjoy listening too…old school horse…and evry entertaining.
The captain you mentioned reminds me of the actor you once mentioned, I think his name was Utpal Dutt…the one you saw on a bus stop…you wanted to give him a lift but didnt as you thought it may offend him. Amitji….im not saying that these people were’nt special….but you Sir are one of a kind….and you will always be on top.
I think my commentary is gettin boring now so i shall i ask for leave…and return again very soon
Lots of love

Mrs. G.A. Patel….thank you

My Dear Mr Bachchan
I am yet to view PAA,but am glad it is being granted this special privilege of tax exemption in those many states. From all the great reviews, PAA is a very special movie and deserves the tremendous accolades that keeps coming its way,and i think they will keep on coming for a long time.Congratulations to the whole team!
I completely agree with you on television,it’s like having the whole world in your home.In these times, for those who normally have time to watch tv, life would be very boring with out it.
Truely, most sports people, their profession are short lived.”So if they make hay while the sun shines” it is no way a crime.
Sometimes, thinking of life and how we as humans treat others when they dont perform well, can be very confusing.I have never heard of this indian cricketer Sanjay Bangar….that was very kind of you to acknowledge him.
Children brings joy….I can imagine your sad feelings that they had to go,but hope “their next arrival” won’t be too long from now.
Have a pleasant day….Good luck for the Awards!
May God always bless and protect you, your wonderful family and all dear FmXt
My sincere love always…

Respected Sir,
Good morning.Congratulation for PAA.
How are you?
Please take care.

amitabh —— i think you would be excellent in a tv soap opera -where you can —— show us daily life challenges and stories of your family it would —— be a great hit such as a dallas type of story about the trials and —— tribulations of your skyscraping success — how did you keep so level headed —— and balance your personal life with your career -very difficult endeavour —- hats off to you —– you did good — i would love to see more of you so look forward to more from you bye for now –jackie–
wow, I’ve never heard of a tax exemption for a movie before. Nowadays, they hardly ever make tax exemptions for anything! It looks like Teen Patti is coming soon. I hope and pray that it is as good as Paa! Which would be quite hard indeed. Yes, it is very sad that sport stars’ careers are so short lived, but the players probably knew this before they started playing. They had to make the choice, to have it short and sweet, or not do it at all. And it’s not like they have to be wasted. Look at Navjot Singh Sidhu, a successful cricketer, actor, and politician. If you really desire something, you will find a way to make it happen.

I want to share an Assamese film maker Aneisha Sharma documentary film “FREEDOM AT THE EDGE” story with all of you. I am very happy if you are give comment.
*************************************************
“FREEDOM AT THE EDGE”
THE SHORT FILM BASED ON TRUE STORY
a film by Aneisha Sharma
Freedom at the Edge is a short heart- rendering documentary of a true story about an innocent tribal youth of Assam, Machang Lalung, who was sentenced to prison for an unknown offence in 1951 and later after a bout of epilepsy shifted to Tezpur Mental Hospital, where he was left to his fate for 54 long years as an illegal under trial prisoner without any records. After 54 years this old lost soul drew the attention of the Indian Human Rights Commission which was an eye opener for the authorities. He was granted bail by the Chief Judiciary Magistrate of Guwahati. Later the Supreme Court of India took a sou- moto case and ordered the government to pay a compensation. A compensation for those valuable bygone years of youth,…………………………. Mental trauma …………..……………………. lost loved ones…………..…………. ? A touching story that will leave one motionless and speechless.
In this film old Machang’s character is played by Indra Bania who had won the best actor award at the Locarno International Film Festival in 1988. Young Machang’s character is played by Rajib kro. The other actors who acted in this film are Swapnanil Boruah, Arun Nath, Rupjyoti Bordoloi, Jayanti Pator, Rupam Chetia and Dino Pator. This film was shot in the actual jail, mental hospital & Machang’s native village.
Profile of film maker Aneisha Sharma

how r u?
Dearest Amitabhji,
A very good morning to you. Firstly, all the best for the Apsara and the Screen awards. Imagine wining 2 trophies for the best actor award in 2 days, and this is just the begining, with half a dozen more to follow.
Great to know about the tax ememption on ‘Paa’ in various states.
Yesterday the media went overboard regarding your meeting with the CM of Gujarat. God knows how your association with the CM of Gujarat alters your relationship with Amarsinghji. Yet the fourth estate manage to dig out facts, predictions and news from somewhere and telecast a 1 hour programme on your personal equations with people. Nonsense !!!
I totally agree with the plight of sportsmen inour country…but thats the way it remains. There is stiff competition, specially in cricket ( more so after the advent of the IPL ). You don’t deliver, you are out of the team and ofcourse the public memory is short lived.
It is so sweet of you to meet Sanjay Bangar. I think it is one moment he would never forget. Amitji, I think there is no one more humble than you are and that makes you even more charming.I hope other celebraties learn from you. Today if a player does well in 3 matches of the IPL ( leave alone for India ), or an actor has 2 major hits, the attitude and the arrogance developed is really outof limits.
Anyways I believe that, “the more successful a person gets, the more he grows in stature, the more humble he gets. You Amitji, are the epitome of that”.
love,
Pratik
Amitabhji has developed a spiritual flavour in his attittude much more impressive than even his acting.
Indians wisdom lies in understanding and spreading it.
Hi Amitji,
Congratulations! Paa deserves all the awards, the rewards, the accolades, the tax-exemptions and the kudos that it is continuing to receive.
Event management is indeed a challenging profession and has given employment opportunities to many!
Amitji your simple act of posing for pictures with Sanjay Bangar was indeed very endearing! It is very sad to note that public memory is so short lived.
I do not feel there is anything wrong in making hay while the sun shines. It will be foolish to let opportunities pass by without making use of them. If sportsmen or actors try to increase their revenue by endorsing products and participating in events there should be no eyebrows raised. Given a chance to do this we would all readily follow suit. If this proves to be a distraction and thereby proves to be detrimental to one’s basic objective then it needs to be questioned and not by the electronic media of course
Regards and good wishes as always!
Shubha
My dearest Amitji.. Is happy to hear about that that Paa continues to hold the victorious positions and continues to captivate hearts and to treat souls.. My heart is subdued by a film and Auro from the first viewing. Perfectly well and remarkably.!! I love very much.!
I sincerely congratulate you on the deserved recognition!.. Successful to you in work over Teen Patti.. We will soon have possibility to see one more remarkable masterpiece..! )
My dear.. You mention a theme of age of sportsmen.. The years in sports not so is long.. Sportsmen leave from sports career as he feels that cannot reach the big results any more.. Or all is already won or simply the sportsmen has understood that forces are not so equal and it is better to leave in time with a victory, than won.. Such is sports, such conditions.. Though there are cases of successful returning in sports, but basically people pass to trainer’s work or try to find for itself what or alternative.. Unfortunately the life proves, what not each person, compelled to leave sports finds the place in the sun.. Many are simply lost in a life.. The life in general is uneasy and difficult.. It is important not to lose itself and to find the place in it., that all also I wish with all my heart..
Greetings and the best regards to your beautiful grandson and the grand daughter, my precious.! You will miss their cheerful voices and happy laughter ) you the best grandfather and the father on light, my dear Amitji !!
Good night and to you my angel., is more true already good morning ))…
Always mentally with you, with warmth and sincere love.. Yours devoted and loving Lyudmila..
Hi, Auro
Hi paa
Only couple of days back I had expressed wish for the tax exemption for PAA. I am happy that it has come true from many State Govts.
I hope many schools also come forward to show it to the students community. I am sure there will be some thinking on that already.
With best wishes and congratulations for the APSARA and SCREEN awards,
TV is now bigger than films - a statement from you ! Certainly you are the first to put your stamp on the reality. Congratulations.

Hi Mr Bachchan
This is indeed a very good news that PAA has been made tax free in two states and is due to be tax free in other two.I wish it keeps getting the appreciation and all the credit goes to the makers and actors worked on it.
There are lot of cricketers who have not got the opportunity to show their talent .They had to quit playing due to one or the other reason.
I hope Vinod kambli wish comes true and he is given a chance to play IPL once with Sachin as he wished during the interview in BB3.
Love & warm regards
take care
Priyanka.

Hello Sir,

The promos are awesome!!

Just read the post of today and been instructed to sleep well , therefore I here I go into my slumbr land….Good night,Good morning and Jai Shri Ram…..
Hi Sir,
It is good to hear that the film has received tax exemptions in other states as well, and is probably even better news for yourself and all those tied to the film. The comments will keep pouring in as you are correct to say that PAA has heart and soul. It has those two components because each character is able to bring it out emotionally to give the film substance and in the end leave the audience with a valuable lesson to learn from and of. It does not just focus on one particular aspect, but instead explores a greater range of issues that are relevant to society. This too is responsible for its success.
Television is indeed everywhere and is the main hub of sharing information with the rest of the world. It is the network that connects the world to important issues and at the same time bringing in the entertainment. The lives of an athlete as you have described is true and the reason for it is that there is too much expectation placed on them. Perhaps if there was less expectation in terms of having victory all the time and instead appreciating their love for the game, then things would be better off.
Regards and Love,
S
Hey Amitabh….good to know that…may the new year be a journey of pleasant events and smiles too!!!
Namaskaar Amitji,
I responded very briefly in an earlier submission because I was at school and my free time there is usually very limited.
About the plight of the sportsmen, actors, and other professionals, here is my two cents’ worth:
While professionals are in their heyday and putting their countries on the world map, governments swell with pride and ride on a wave of popularity. The people responsible (professionals) for the many successes are seduced, wined, dined and celebrated in grand style.
That would be the time for the professionals, as I call them, to ‘make hay’.
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that.
It would be in their best interest, longterm, for them to do so.
Injury, particularly in professional sports, is imminent. As a result, professionals’ successes become short-lived.
The result is that their glory becomes faded as the once-heroes are pushed into the background, making way for younger, newer blood. Then follows the stage where there is no caring, no follow-up, no support from the very governments that previously exhibited such pride of ownership of their great citizens.
And it is very sad. True, but sad.
There should be organizations and support groups set up so that professionals could continue to maintain their independence, personal pride and self-worth, even though they are no longer in the forefront.
I recently heard of an ‘over 50′ cricket match being played in Trinidad, and baby boomers went crazy supporting the players!
Anyway, having said all of that, I say, ‘YES! Make hay while the sun shines!’
The sun does not shine every day. My grandmother (from UP) always sang:
‘Save a little money for the rainy days!’
LOVE YOU.
Leela
Dear Sir,
Good Morning !!!!!!!!!
Read about Sanjay Bangar…. You rightly said that when you are ate peak you have to grab PROPER oppertunity to secure your future.
You have also seen down-rough patch in your career life—-see mrutyu data, Jadugar and all were said AMITABH FINISHED…….. So many time you have finished and coming with new chapter with new Sun. You were also finished when Kishor-da died- your voice on scree for song……… but then you have created and crafted your own voice and sung some most butfull songs.
So, one has to work and fight for the survival.
Anyway but yes we are so fast to forgot our HEROs be it cricketer, Jawans etc……….
Regards with love,light and reiki……

When will Teen Patti be released, Amitji (GOSH,,,I cannot find the question mark on my netbook keyboard). UUUGGGHHHHH!!
Leela
Dear Amitji,
Congratulations on the forthcoming awards.
Agree with you totally on the issue of celebrities (especially sports) who wax and wane with their peak forms and the modern world gives them an opportunity to encash on this popularity which in turn when executed and planned well, helps their maintenance in the years after. But what about legends of the yesteryears? A Polly Umrigar, Prasanna, Milkha Singh, Dhyanchand, Chandrababu, Chandrasekhar (TT), the list is endless. People who did great feats amidst pedestrian facilities and did not have opportunities to encash on the surplus they had engineered. So one should be thankful to the system which has created this process of convertion of popularity into personal wealth and use it diligently. If they dont it is anybody’s guess as to who is the looser. And lets be pragmatic Sirji. It isnt as if the celbrity is taken by surprise by the dwindle in fame. Life itself is the same plot which is only phased out a lot more. You know you can create surpluses between 16 and 60 and if you dont do it well :- a.) you dont have a feeling of fulfillment and b) you suffer in the jungle of commerce. To conclude, there is a strong necessity to learn the ropes of commerce along with excellence in any sport or art form just like a good student has to master the art of corporate climb along with the opportunities he creates for himself out of his academic excellence.
End Line -
How to Stay Young n Happy in the New Year
1. Throw out nonessential numbers.
This includes age, weight, and height.
Let the doctors worry about them.. That is why you pay them.
2. Keep only cheerful friends.
The grouches pull you down.
3. Keep learning:
Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever.
Never let the brain get idle.
‘An idle mind is the devil’s workshop.’
And the devil’s name is Alzheimer’s!
4. Enjoy the simple things
5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.
And if you have a friend who makes you laugh, spend lots and lots of time with him or her!
6. The tears happen:
Endure, grieve, and move on.
The only person who is with us our entire life, is ourself.
LIVE while you are alive.
7. Surround yourself with what you love:
Whether it’s family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever.
Your home is your refuge.
8. Cherish your health:
If it is good, preserve it.
If it is unstable, improve it.
If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.
9. Don’t take guilt trips.
Take a trip to the mall, even to a foreign country, but NOT to where the guilt is
10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.
Yours as always

Respected Brother
Sadar Charan Sparsh
These days I have found the morning time the more suitable aspect of my writing here.. immediately after dropping Savita for her auto ride to her International school.. sometimes she sounds she is not enjoying it all that much.. she has fears of Amrit not getting proper attention.. she has a concern for not having enough time at her disposal to look after our only child.. I look back and think how on earth my dear mother and father had almost looked after eleven of their children and provided them with what a normal child would have sought for a parental support.. maybe things were different those days.. Amrit my eleven year old son is more glued into Television.. more connected to Computers.. more prone to take part in drama or any other cultural event.. easily moved into believing that he could and should play every game that opportunity arises and felt little awkward when I said you are already into Badminton why do you also have to take up Basketball.. he says I may be picked for nationals.. don’t you understand.. I don’t.. I have nothing against him.. not so much even for his lack of interest in maths and science or any of the subjects.. he simply does not seem to getting into a mood to have a look at books.. He is not doing too bad with his exams yet good enough is not the criteria these days.. children have fierce competition at school level for doing well.. and here is a case who is not so concerned.. the little sparkle of hope is that he seems to be far more aware of world events.. he is not as dumb as what I had been at the same age some 40 years back,, that alone gives me satisfaction.. that alone provides a sigh of relief that he is after all not a spoiled brat in the real sense of the word.. and his love for Casio
Enough of Savita and Amrit.. I would rather come back to your this particular post.. you continue to amaze us with the sense of achievement with Paa.. you continue to contribute and suggest on several important and relevant points.. the concern for cricket and sportsperson and their much shorter stint with glory and achievement.. No, no, I am not in a mood to debate or discuss.. I fail to understand why and for what reasons the board (BCCI) and sports authority in the country can not cater to the well being of sportsperson in the country.. you ask a common man on the street and ask him if he knows Abhinav Bindra.. I am sue 5 out of 10 would say nay.. who is that.. is he the nephew or son of IS Bindra.. I mean IS Bindra the cricket administrator would be more well known than some of our superstars in some other events.. I am also sure if you go and ask your colleagues and ask them if they would have a desire to meet one Sainal.. they would most likely turn their head other way.. some may even question did you mean Sania.. such pathetic is the case of our sportsperson that Kapil Dev is almost forgotten on his birthday a couple of days ago.. where has he gone wrong.. if ICL paved the way for more cricket for players and spectators was he really at the wrong end.. I kow some of these questions are best left unanswered.. Vijender Singh may be only having some memories in the minds of the people for being Billo Rani fan than for his bouts in the ring..
Oh! I sound far too depressing! Do I.. Please excuse me if you did not like my comments.. After all such known things.. how an ordinary father in me grant permission to Amrit to take up sports more seriously than studies.. what if he had exhibited great timing while executing shots a good four five years back in the room alley cricket of D-30 Indraprastha.. what if he goes to train himself for badminton.. what good is it that he has a strong desire to take up basketball citing his reasons that he may become taller playing the game.. I am at cross-roads..
I know my brother Alok Sharma who is not with us now was equally good at Hockey, Football and cricket besides Chemistry and Biology at graduation level.. he did not find a job for good many years.. I know the situation is not as bad as it was in the seventies.. yet it would be dicey situation to promote Amrit to take up sports.. he ahs to first perform with Academics and then and only could he find time for developing sporting skills..

Dear Mr. Bachchan,
The tax exemption, though it came late in the day, will give PAA another shot in the arm.
Television has become a very big industry and has virtually taken control over our lives. And the same can be said of Event Management too.
The plight of our former cricketers is not as bad as that of other ex-sportsmen and forgotten movie stars. The current stars must think about it. Given the situation, I believe that one should definitely make the most out of the present and secure one’s future rather than hoping for somebody to come to his rescue. It is a question of one’s dignity and pride, especially when you have been a celebrity.
Good luck for the awards.
Regards,
Melwyn

DEAREST LION KING,

Dear Amitabh Bachchan,
I slept well and had good dreams and then I worked and met good people … : )

“Paa” is indeed a unique piece of art with the genius of its film director , the wonderful cast and the soul of your unparalleled character Auro … I am so happy to witness all the praise and reception it got in India and all over the world and that it got tax exemption in three states..
*
On the subject of your suggested debate I would like to say that every one of us has to work hard to earn sustenance for our life and take care of the future every way we can for us and our families.
Whether it is in sports or any other area of human labor.
I have a strong opinion about sports and the facts of how people are exploited there, but it happens similarly in every field of employment quite the same way. And even in personal interrelationships often enough. And the sad result - who can no longer be used is discarded. It can happen to practically any one. What can be done about it ? I do not know. My general wish and hope for the world to evolve in the law of love when people can care and be fair and ‘jungle law’ will stop ruling the business sphere … A utopian ideal, but I am adamant in proclaiming it : ) !
I think if the sportsman can not work in his career field any more and has no retirement funds - he would probably have to work somewhere else to sustain himself. What other solution could there be ? But it is truly outrageous, that whoever benefitted from such individual’s hard work and talent and used his labor for years, would not take responsibility for him in case of trauma or retirement !
*
Your paragraph about mass entertainment & communication is well put ..
To me it sounds almost apocalyptic though… : ) And I would like to reassure you that I live without TV happily ever after and my life did not come to a stand still, but to quite an opposite result of life ‘actually happening’ to me. As I dedicate less time to watching someone else’s life with 24/7 of constant input - I have more time for my own life. Creating my own things and being with real people or thinking in solitude..
I immensely appreciate the art of cinema, the developments of the electronic technologies, Internet and TV as a medium, but I learn to discern and regulate the quality and quantity of what I let into my consciousness choosing from their product.
I know what I said here does not sound very ‘promotional’, but it is fair to me as a consumer…
*
I know you will miss your grandchildren but hopefully not for long. You always sound so reassured and refreshed when in their company..
I met and talked to an 80 year old man today at work who moved here - northwest - from California with his wife just to live near their daughter and grandchildren …He was very happy about it …
I hope you are having a wonderful and creative ‘morrow’ at your work : )
God bless and take care.
With much love.

PAA was amazing. Loved you and both Vidya and AB Jr were great too. It was happy film.
Also, Thanks for praising SRK for MNIK - from promo he looks great, i just feel that it is going to be amazing movie - i am already in love with the music. You are my idol and now i have become a huge SRK fan so your comments from one genius to another is just great! I am sure it mean a lot to him as he said, he is still like a child when it comes to praises:)
Sir - good luck with Teen Patti
Hi Mr. Bachchan
OMG !! I have seen PAA four times so I am just one short of u !!!
Its in the sixth week, keeping fingers crossed for its 50 days…
Its so true that the lives of sportsmen in their respective fields is very dicey. They hardly get any support from the authorities & govt. No wonder not too many people choose it as their career.
Good to see PM as the time in the beginning of the post…
Take care
Love & regards

Good morning, Amitji. It is good for you and ABCL that PAA has been tax exempt. I agree with you that it is a movie with a heart and a soul, and that is the reason it has resonated within the hearts and souls of people across all age groups. I loved its simplicity as well — it is a simple story, well told. But then simplicity has always attracted me. I have trouble with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s films for this reason, as they are so opulent and lavish that I feel it actually detracts from the story. His “Devdas” really bothered me. Anyway, lavishness is more the norm in Indian films, and that is why a film like PAA with its innocence and sweet charm has a very special appeal. It tugs at the heart strings, but not in a melodramatic, soppy way.
I loved reading your thoughts on the short-lived productive life-spans of cricketers and other sportsmen, and how they get relegated to the sidelines once they are no longer “useful”. Sad, but unfortunately, very true.
Event management seems to have become quite an event!
I hope you have a great day ahead. My best wishes for the award shows. Love and regards, always,
Jasmine Jaywant
In these hard times when 15 million Americans are out of work, athletes (male and female-we have the WNBA) aren’t the only ones being discarded. Every time I go to the workforce career center, it is filled with mostly people of my age.(Today I couldn’t even find a seat) Companies now want to hire the kids out of college so they don’t have to pay the salaries of workers who have been there 25 years. I was practically kicked out the door after getting the 25 year certificate. They accompanied me when cleaning out my locker and exiting the building to make sure I didn’t go on a shooting spree or something. Our careers may be longer than those of athletes but we don’t make the hay that they make. I wish I had saved more hay!
One thing I am reminded of when you say that an athlete on a prominent team walks around without being noticed was the victory parade for the NY Giants after they won the Superbowl. We all agreed that it was hard to know who the players were because they didn’t have their numbers on their championship hoodies. Aside from the quarterback Eli Manning and a very few others, these players are hard to recognize because all we see are helmets and numbers. Their faces are hidden.
And now most importantly-
Happy 75th birthday Elvis Presley. I have been listening to his records tonight, sometimes skipping because my cats like to jump onto the turntable.
I hope you have slept well.
Love,
Rochelle
Why just sportsmen? Look closely and u will find that the same holds true for all professions, in varying span of time.

A ha!! What a treat to see u back at Prateeksha at slightly better hours in the night.
As expected, many states are moving ahead to give tax exemption for ‘Paa’ . Am proud Karnataka has also come forward!!!. Sirji.. No second thoughts on the fact that Balki deserves every bit of credit. But had it not been you, and for your excellllleeennnntttt portrayal of the character, it would not seen so much light at the end of the day.
You are such a dedicated, sincere professional.. u take rehearsals, show involvement, appreciate co-artistes and crew who are associated with the production. A rare species on mother earth is ABji!!!
Sanjay Bangar is not a very popular name for people like me who have not followed cricket sooo closely. But you have not only made his day sir, but his life too and by mentioning him today in the blog you have lifted this low profile person to a most popular person!!! Its sad that sports-person have a short span to cling to their profession and ofcourse they need to make hay while the sun shines. But come to think of it, same is the truth for musicians, dancers, actors in lead roles. Their peak comes down after 40 years. Haa there is another truth along with this which is that.. it also depends on the person to decide how he could continue to contribute to his field despite all hurdles. Sir you have been there right at the top despite the fact that you are no longer playing lead roles. In the same way, sportsmen like Ravi Shastry etc. are still associated with the game. Maybe there is a huge element of luck too which plays a big role.
Waiting for all awards function and most importantly, waiting to see your stage show at Screen Awards!!
Yes its very tough to say bye to kids. Next time u see them, they would have grown up and will come up with fresh pranks. Convey lots of love to Navya and Agasthya.
lots of love

Dear Amitji,
True..our society is such. There are so many sanjay Bangars who is gone un noticed..He salughterd for the country now bobody needs. Here person with controversies are rememberd ….and he becomes a celeberaty in a day……… Vinod ruined his carier himself . The success eneterd his head…See Sachin. down to earth…he came along with vinod …………Vinod infact a better player……( due respect to sachin)..All of a sudden fame and money made him that way. Now doing petty reality shows …………sorry to say that it hurts when a person who you adore reach to such a level……..

Isn’t this true of life?
The comings and going of the corporate world, how different are they?
Star performers one day, and next , has-beens.
There was an article in the Business Standard the other day, about the
age bias in the corporate world. past 40-45— well, you’d better have
a good streak of luck with the stock market or stick on.
Few, very few can shift to a second career and make a go of it.
So cheerful we are this morning.
Added: A big thanks to Zainab, Kash, jasmine Jaywant, Reeham and everyone else who remembers me.
Hmmmmmmm er…oh Hey there!

Should sports-persons make hay while the sun shines? Since their career spans are so short?
If they can, without compromising on their quality, yes, why not? On the other hand shouldn’t we, as a nation, do something to ensure that they do not meet such ignoble ends? Our country is not short of talent, it is short of world class trainers, but somehow it is seen as an infra dig to become a coach after having been a star…we can have some good institutions like IIT, IIM, ONLY for sports where these past-their-glory sports star would have a secure future….. and the new talent will get the best mentors.
But we ARE a strange country, we live and breath cricket but you can count good training schools on your finger tips, doosre sports ka toh poochiye hee mat. Aise mein, koi kisi ko kya kahe? If somebody does try to do something about it, more chances are that either it’ll get entangled in miles of red-tape, and when it frees itself of that, corruption of all sorts will eat it up!
So back to square one- so sports stars- go ahead, make hay, invest wisely money wise and also heart- wise so that you have more to look back upon than just faded glory!
Chaliye Sir, aaj itna hi, have a nice day!
Much love
Madhumita
Hello Amit dada,
Our daddy reads your blog everyday religiously, and tells us about you routine.
We desperately want to meet our daddy’s idol! I think that our daddy looks like you. He speaks like you too e.g: ‘Mard ko dard nahi hota’, ‘Considering the consultation….’ and ‘Aaj khush toh buhaat hoonge tum..’ When he was little, he would give the local tailor a movie ticket to one of your movies and would tell him to see a certain scene and make the same suit that Mr Amitabh Bachan is wearing.
Please Please meet us, my daddy would be soooo happy to talk to you. He even named me Suneeta because of the way you said the name in Shaan!!!
ok thanks,
Suneeta and Drishti
dear amitji,
greetings !
we all feel insecure at all times. i think in the existing scenario a common man with average capabilities can never be secure.
the reason being that there are just 5 % people who are really working for the country and to improve lives of millions of people. so actually the lives and future of millions of Indians is “Ram Bharose”. Even if one tries ones best then also the situation is so bad, as you must be well aware, that one does not get enough opportunities to realise one’s full potential because there is not enough effort to create them and thus secure one’s future.
How can millions of children think of securing their lives despite their best efforts if the government does not provide quality education, for example.
Now in these days and such a situation only the best people, technically, academically etc. are the ones who can think and rest assured of future security. Or there are people in power who can misuse the power and secure their and family’s futrue.
Now coming to question you have raised. It is my perosnal opinion that one should take advantage of the opportunities to their full potential during one’s peak days. But one should draw a line that upto what level can one break one’s principles while taking advantage of such opportunities. I have seen girls these days who would allow their bosses to flirt with them or to take undue advantage of them in order to advance their careers. Probably they also think that they should use thier youthful days to lift their careers. But is it the right thing to do ? Stooping to such a low level ? I do not know whether the example I have taken is correct or not? But one thing i know for sure that one should not stoop to an extremely low level to make hay while the sun shines. Some principles and values need to be guarded. This will automatically make lives of many people secure because of the chain effect or cummulative effet.
have a great day today. good luck.
warm regards,

Dear Sir,
Tax exemptions are very welcome, but I think they have come TOO LATE!
The governments have reaped in a month’s profits and are now announcing these exemptions….
But then, even if no financial benefits are going to come the producers’ way, at least it amounts to a big HONOUR!
Wishing you the very best for the awards season! We are more than sure that you’re going to bag ALL the BEST ACTOR awards for PAA this year!

Dear Boss,
I am so glad you brought the topic up on India caps like Sanjay Bangar, Vinod Kambli and the likes… We all understand that it is an unforgiving world out there especially when it is about sports… and the critics are all over them when a play goes haywire and especially when playing for the pride of a nation. But when opportunities like an IPL or similar comes up, and players do get signed up for healthy looking bonuses, why can’t the same media refrain from making up ’spicy’ stories and targeting those individuals who have already gone through so much scrutiny? Can’t understand the mentality of our media sometimes….. just ’cause you need a story….. shameful!

I had congratulated you on Paa’s box office success couple of weeks ago. But yesterday when I watched it, I was a bit disappointed. Vidya was leaps and bounds ahead of you and Abhi in acting. I hope at least she gets some awards in the best female lead. I try hard to be loyal to you and your family because I am a wellwisher, but at times when I try to be objective, I should confess I find myself rating other actors higher then you, abhi and Aish.
Abhishek and Aishwarya are so hardworking, it shows in their work that they are working too hard and that acting doesn’t come easily to them. It gets kind of OTT sometimes. I don’t know what to say, but please do analyse as a family what is it that needs to be done to get results commensurate with all the hard work. Saif’s is one actor that comes to mind. He used to be so lost in the begining, it was a torture to sit thru his movies for even 5 mins. But suddenly something clicked and he started improving and is now one of the finest and most versatile. That’s what Abhi Ash need to do - they need to find that ‘click’. In my humble opinion for Ash, she needs to be natural and true to herself. She puts in a lot of effort to fake expressions and speech. If she were natural it will show in her work as well. Just my 2 cents.
Dear amitji,
i am amazed at your energy at this age.i was thinking the secret of it since long then suddenly i remembered simplest truth that when person has job which he loves and which is his passion also he never tires of working long hours.
well may god give u contentment from your work and byproduct will be pleasure for millions of your fans like me.

Dear Amit ji ,
GOD BLESS U……….yes there is a saying in punjabi “charde suraj nu salamaa…..dubde nu kaun poochda “…….meaning that all worship n salute the rising sun but no one even bothers to care for the setting sun……..same is wiht humans………..one peak the fans n public n media all are behind you , yoru employers support you…….when you are a winning horse n money ,fame n fans multiply every second ………but once you are past peak n lost you prime there are very few who stand by………..only true n sincere fans, freinds n family are there unto death………..
so we all should understand that all this is maya…….n one day we all will be forgotten except the goods deed that we do , kinds words that we sepak , humantarian work that touches our n improves others lives……….MOTHER TERESA CANT BE FORGOTTEN , SACHIN TENDULKAR CAN BE REPLACED………AMITABH BACHCHAN CAN BE MATCHED……………LEGENDS BECOME REFERENCES FOR FUTURE GENERATION TO IMMULATE N BE SOURCE OF INSPIRATION………….
We luv u sincerely n you will stay in our hearts forever……….

Dear Sir,
What is the difference between script and screenplay.
When are you taking up new movie projects.I seriously feel you should not do more than two movies in a year. This would help you to take sufficient rest.

Yes Big B, you are right. Players, actors, all have a shelf life. Unless you are more than extraordinary. Sunil Gavaskar, Prakash Padukone, Dara Singh, and few others in sports have lingered on and on. And in films, though you have the position from 1 to 1 million, soon after that there are other stalwarts, who does not fade away with time. Irrespective of the fact that they are active or inactive.
Two old actors are sitting on a bench. One says: “How long has it been since you had a job?” The other actor says “Thirty two years — how about you?” The first actor says, “That’s nothing. I haven’t had a job in forty years!” The other says, “One of these days we’ve got to get out of this business!”

Really a good news that Paa if free from Tax. I think that saving portion can be used for good means. couold be donated to Progeria effected children or some other special children.
and what U have written about Cricketers future is very true. now-a-days lots of other ways r open to divert, but it was difficult in earlier days. i don’t know why Sanjy Bangar is not in touch with Cricket, if a person loves Cricket, never disconnects himself/ herself from Cricket scores ……..
Multitasking continues………… so, I have to stop now……… enjoy Ur day……. rock the stage today…………
Love U most…………..

Dear Mr Bachchan
Congratulations for the acheivement on Paa, I stil have to see the movie, couldnt see it at the theatre when it was released here in Sydney due to a wedding in the family, and I dont watch movies on DVD unless the original is released to avoid any kind of piracy, because of this sometimes I dont get to watch a particular movie unless its aired on one of the channels and that could be anything between 6 to 12 months from the release. Waiting for the release of original DVD of Paa.
It was nice to see you at city pulse along with Mr Purohit and CM on NDTV 24×7, some old memories were refreshed, it was at City Pulse that I saw Father and Son Hrithik and Mr R Roshan for the 100 days celebration of KNPH, was sitting in the same room where the Press confrence was held.
Few weeks later SRK and Juhi Chawala were there to promote “Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani” i was litterally an arms length away from SRK, but couldnt get an Autograph or even shake hands, too many people specially women had surrounded him. Also had the pleasure of seeing Preity Zinta in person, she was there for the release of Kya Kehna the role she was well recognised for. I couldnt get the opportunity to see Aishwarya, Mr Anil Kapoor, Late Shri Amrish Puri and other crew members while they were visiting City Pulse to celebrate TAAL’s silver jublee(i think it was silver jublee celebrations)
That reminds me now that I have mentioned SRK my cousin works for RED CHILLIES entertainment, he was present at the time when you were shooting for your scene for “PAHELI”, I had requested him only one thing which was your autograph on which he told me afterwards, ” Everyone on the floor is so awed by your presence that no one wants to disturb you and show any kind of disrespect.
Congratulations once again and eagerly waiting for the release of RANN.
Love and Regards

Hi Amitji,
Yes life of a sportman like anyone who is into strenuous physical activity is shortlived. most of them devote so much time and energy in perfecting a sport that they wouldn’t find themselves competent enough in doing anything else. if they can make the most of it keeping the dignity of the sport…..who s complaining.
if we are talking about the fame and recognition that comes along with it, then we have become attached to something which is not ‘really’ there. many of our mentors, teachers who have enjoyed their share of fame have smoothly moved into oblivion……..may be they knew they were only ‘channels to something’ and not ‘an end in itself.’
love you
take care
God bless you
Ann
My dearest Mr. Bachchan,
Thank you for bringing us to the information that PAA has now been declared a tax-free movie in many states! Congratulations! I think it was just a matter of time…yeh toh hona hi tha!! Infact the Central Govt should have declared it tax free at the onset…I wonder why they didn’t! And all the very best of fortunes for tomorrow, at the Apsaras…..but even if one does not come your way…does God need a certificate of excellence??!! Oh bless you my dear, all ways!!
Regarding the short lived peak periods of cricketers, and whether then it wouldn’t be prudent for them to make hay while the sun shone brightest for them, and inviting us in for a debate on the matter….Mr. Bachchan, what I wish to say may not be understood and agreed upon by many, but notwithstanding that, I would like to put my views up for consideration.
Cricketing is a profession like any other. It is cultivated and nurtured by those who have an aptitude for it, just like people in their other preferred walks of life. Regarding making hay while the sun shines, don’t you think it is unfair to the other professionals, when you word it that way? The others also serve their chosen professions, but are walking a tightrope 24×7x365 days! There is such an extreme divide in our country, with severe disregard for priorities. A cricketer who wins a match for his country is literally buried neck deep in money, awards and gifts by Govts of the Sate and the Country, not to mention that he becomes hot property for endorsing products. And it doesn’t matter that he may be the reason for the team losing the next couple of matches in line. He continues to be feted for his past glories!
But take for instance an employee of the corporate sector…if the company loses revenue due to a lack in his performance, he is shown the door immediately and never mind his designation. Or a Defence Personnel….these people are laying their lives on line 24×7x365 and except for the immediate families and their Regiments, no one is even aware of his supreme sacrifice, leave alone to even shed a tear! Are you aware that besides not being able to meet their families even once a year at most times, 7 to 8 of them die every single day, war or no war, and specially in the forward areas! And forget about making hay…they don’t get to see the sun for months on end too! These are the Saviours who have never seen the insides of a five star hotel or have been fortunate enough to ride in a swanky car. I’d say the same for theTeachers’ Fraternity….it is a thankless job! I know, the most expected argument will be ‘to each his own’…true, but when one is singled out and glorified, the others are bound to say “Huh??” Cricket and the Hindi Film Industry are bonding almost seamlessly, in times today! I only pray that in the days to come, may the less glamorous but more intense, noble and purposeful professions too have Voices to champion their cause!
Please be careful of your health, and you are, these days, back to welcoming the dawn of a new day, before finally saying your long overdue goodnights, I see! Please do not do that….discipline yourself a little…it hardly takes more than a firm resolve, I assure you! Please do not lose out on your sleep…it is extremely harmful to wellness! There I go again…the ever humphf-ing old nanny! Well, you have only yourself to balme isn’t it????
With much love, every blessings and all our prayers,
Ever and always,
Kashmira
Your film ‘PAA’ is really very imotional. When ‘Auro’ was dying I was trying too hard not to cry. I liked young ‘Amitabh’ of ‘Sooryavansham’ very much. I use to see few scenes of sooryavansham whenever it is telecasted on TV. Needless to say ,your performance in ‘Deewar’, ‘Zanzeer’ and all your films of those times are the best an actor can give. God has manifested himself in your performances of those days. Just PERFECT. Neither more nor less.
Dear sir,
Really a question of debate about secured life of sports person..they bring proud and gloery for nation.we must give them a secured life .. but question is how ???
every games are not getting same amount of benefit ..if we compare cricket players to other sports person ,there are a wide gap in between ..cricket professionas are much much better position than our national game hocky players too..
sponsors decide the fate of players ..
professional enjoy the full at the time of glory and forget about the future .. they earn in one day more and more what the maximum average people have dream .. they are Hero at the norms of professional value ..they dislike to compare theselves with any formal structure of organisation..
They GOT job with high salary but still worrying for secured future .. cricketer have better life than others ..
but they want same name fame as past what is decided on present element .. it is never possible for any professionals life of any fields ..
Har koi Sachin Aur Amitabh saheb nahi ho sakta.. Ek 20 barson se karodo talent ko challenge kar rahe hain .. aur aap ke aas paas 40 saalon se karodo talent nahi pahunch paa rahe hai ”
AAp aaj bhi perform wahi lagan, wahi nishtha , ham toh kahte hai pahle se jyada mehnat karte hai perfection ke liye ..kyonki aap ki tulana ab aap se hoti hai ..
“behtar yahi hai khiladi ke liye insurance company aage aaye ..uneh aam aadmi se kayee guna jyadda ka faayda De ”
(kyonki policies toh bahut hai Govt ke paas, faayada lena sabo ke liye tedi khir hai )

I agrre to u sir …..one has all right to preserve the future …and also the right to make the most when it is there ….It is so very easy to disgrace a celebrity may be a sportsmen or a actor as to about doing commercials and dancing in marriage nights ……
i believe it is none of business to enter into the quarter of anyones privacy ….even sportmen today are proffessionals and one should not question.
Anyways i believe to be a better country in sports arena and making true the dream of further gold edals in olympic we must have an initiative from the sports ministry coming up with schemes for players securing their future if they do not do well at the big stage.
Because not everyone is as lucky as Sachin Tendulkar ……and i feel there are lot many tendulkars in India who didnt made it big because of family pressure seeking future security and financial crunch who could not make it big and left their sports career in between for daily bread…..

Mr. Bachchan, with your permission…may I…..??
For Carla # 86 above: Carla dearie, a flim which espouses a social cause or a message, is generally exempted from the Entertainment tax by the Govt., so that more and more people would be enouraged to see it. PAA has been declared as such a film by some of the State Govts in India! I hope it gets done at a national level too now.
For Daksha, # 278 Day 625: Thank you very much Daksha for being so appreciative! It is very encouraging to know your views, and trust me, I am learning something new everday here too! Take care my dear! And God Bless!
For Archana (Bengaluru), # 344 Day 625: Thank you so much Archana! You are always so warm and affectionate in your comments and this time, you seem to have turned the tables on me…you’ve made me blush and feel shy for a change today! Thank you once again and take care….and God Bless!

Only few channels are showing it promos.I want Rann promotion same to the Paa promotions. But prayers help more than promotins but you please, dont mind of this.I say this because I am your biggest fan ever and always wants good for you and wants to see a Blockbuster like Paa or more than it ! Hope you understand !

Hello Sir,
i am writing first time to anybodies blog and sorry in advance if i make you upset in any way….firstly i want to wish u a great and happy New Year..i wish this new year brings good health and joy, wish that you can enjoy more quality time with your grandchildrens, and many more wishes.Congratulation for success of paa and wish same for Teen patti
I was thinking to write about this since 27th Dec but was reluctant, well i couldnt stop my self and want to ask you a question that why did you do Bigboss?.
most of us watched because of you and i really feel guilty that i watched a show in which a mad man became a winner. vindu was badmouth, abused everyone in the house, used absurd signs, called himself best, arrogant, ugly in every sense,he was the worst example of human behaviour and still he was the winner,i have no problem him getting the money but what example bigoss gave to country, kids and young people watch this show and they can reciprocate the same behaviour as they had seen that people who are bad always won the game. please dont do a show like this again which dosent teach anything good (except the that food+parvesh incident). i hated him and thats a bad feeling. well i was just concerned considering its bad effect it can cause as a whole. may be i m wrong but thats what i felt.
All the best for everything , i love you as an actor and as a person, and i wish that whatever you do encourages people to do good.
Dear amitji,
First of all Best of Luck for your to be released film RANN, and do take precaution over your health, we are very much attached with you.
You have aptly said that sportsperson are gone in the oblivion once their decade of spotlight comes to an end, and why only sportsperson, even people from the entertainment fraternity face the same problems…. only few with gods grace move on ……. so I totally agree with you that to make money in the heydays is not a crime / sin …
Luv forever…. your fan

Sir,
Tax exemption of Paa is going to help people who always wanted to watch it twice, for finer details, but could not do so due to paucity of funds.
Fate of most of sportsmen, actors etc. are like that of Sanjay Bangar. There are very few like Amitabh Bachchan,Sunny Gavaskar and Kapil Dev. Saurav Dada who captained India for so many years is also struggling. Sanjay Bangar was correct when he told you that he was not in touch with cricket.it happens with many sportsperson. They play to enjoy and win, not to see others playing.
There are only few professions that one can practice till his death.Medicine (not surgery), writing and painting are among them. However lawyers, academicians and other consultants do have longer career than others.

Anand

Dear Amitji, Good Afternoon. Taxfree Paa!!! Happy Paa who does not have to pay taxes. Poor Paa also does not have to pay taxes. Rich Paa pays taxes. That is real life Paa not the filmi Paa you are speaking about.
Government after Government of different states following taxfree status for Paa is a welcome news. The positiveness shown in the film must be the reason for this to happen. A single mother bringing up a challenged child, a politician very upright and ofcourse Auro the genious must be reason enough to command a taxfree run for Paa. Congratulations for the National relevence and the well deserved status of film. May Paa and Auro be seen by everyone in every small village of India to send blessings to you and the entire team of Paa.
Good luck for Paa to be adjudged with many deserving awards at all the functions in 2010. May you count dozens and not have space to keep the trophies in the existing cup-boards and create new furniture for the same. Paa’s furniture and Auro’s special cupboards and shelfs in Amitabh Bachchan’s house.
Talking of Sanjay Bangar and Vinod Kambli or any sportsman one has to accept the fact that their active life is less and they have to take care of a long road to future. One need not have attitude of make hey while the sun shines. This can lead to some unethical dealings also. Do you endorse a match fixing amount if someone knows he will have limited working life. I think one has to keep professional success and financial success well insulated from each other.
One has to be honest to his profession and leave it at that. Like any other businessman or salaried person the working life has to go on. If any prize money is earned in short time it should be well saved and invested for a rainy day and blown on champaignes. The crux is to be leading a holistic life despite all ups and downs.
Have a nice award winning time and my regards to those who understand life’s futilities and don’t waste resources.

PAA has finally been granted “Tax Free” status.
Dear Amit-ji,
I have only one comment to make (am sure many others would have in the past).
You need to take care of your health. Such an esteemed person as yourself, an intelligent entertainer (maybe rare in showbiz!) and a national icon should be treasured. You have a lot more to contribute to our country. I am worried that you sleep very little, that too late and have a very hectic lifestyle. I hope you could slow down, enjoy your life a lot more and ofcourse continue to entertain and enlighten us.
My prayers are there with you always!

Yes, sports persons active life is short lived, age & injury does take over.
& sometimes politics in sports also brings somebody’s talent to grinding halt! So luck & good connection also plays a very vital role for a talented sports person to rise to glory.
Read a small article in today’s Times Of India(page 5) that somebody has given RANN only 3 stars out of 10! The movie is yet to release & people are already rating it!!!! how is this possible Amithji????!!!!!
Bye for now,

Dearest Amitji,
I read an article about a French actress Isabelle Adjani yesterday, she was suffering a lot of media and decided to cut with everything and now she is coming back after many years. She is famous and people couldn’t forget her, I think so. I hope I will watch her new film on cinema this year.
Many people want to be famous and decide to play in a reality shows like big boss (India), big brother (England) or secret story (France), most of them are forgotten and became anguish.
Love as always

Mrs G A Patel 64 - How kind of you. And I’ve just had an idea… I shall email a a friend of mine in Mumbai who I am sure will know a good bookshop - he showed me a brilliant DVD store when I was there last time and as you can imagine a bought MASSES of AB movies… and a Cheeni Kum mug! If I get any details I will certainly let you know. I also wonder if the Marriott hotel stocks it - they seemed to have quite a few film books in their shop last time I was there.

Mr Amitabh Bachchanji, thank you for all the wonderful compliments for our Modiji, i am from surat (gujarat) and into the textile business. We are proudly celebrating the Swarnim Gujarat Celebration (50 years ) . Dear Amit Ji,

Wish a very prosperous year to ABC.
Now u r inviting neighbors for kabaddi. Any way it is a good step for peace in the region.

dear amit ji,
watched ‘PAA’ again. when u like a film ..watch it again, in 2nd instance, you will catch the nuances of the actors, director & the reason, why this scene , that plot, this tiny bit etc had to be….& had to be there.
i just needed to ask 1 thing. when we distribute the prints to the cinema halls/multiplexes, do we make sure that the equipments are of right quality so that the picture quality is not distorted? the projectors are right..? the volatage required is good..? or do we leave this to the protests of the audience..?
while watching PAA here in lagos, in city mall, a multiplex, i observed that the voltage was lower than what it would have required for perfect viewing, or may be teh projector wasnt in order. the difference to me was vivid, but the audience largely complained, jeered, sloganed…but the management took no pains to make corrections. the audience ratio, amit ji, was 65:35, nigerian: indians. i loved that. the crowd loved it. again the same feed back which i gave, when watched in india, the 1st time.
ur powerhouse perfomance was’expected’ hence kudos to abhishek & vidya.
love u balki…. make more such films…amitabh bachchan will do justice to all the roles u can conceive of…
take care all,
pankaj, & tanvi.
Good afternoon, Amitji
I m waiting for ur reply….so i can give surprise to my son Nandish…….pls sir reply mi as early as u can…
# 64 - Mrs.G.A.Patel,
Thank you for your birthday wishes .. I had a great day, firstly the snow and being at home with the family. My daughter really enjoys singing happy birthday and blowng out candles.
Regarding PAA being tax exempt in at least two states I don’t think making people aware of this disease is a valid enough reason. Was tat the reason for it’s production etc ?? I don’t know ..
I simply can’t think of a good enough reason for exempting tax for a commercial project who has made no pledge to donate any proceeds to charity. I don’t live in India so I could be wrong.
I just smell a rat .. incidentally we found two mice the other day underneath the stairs, some torn bags and we’ve not seen them since the ‘ freeze ‘ .. hmmm ..

dearest sir,
i agree with you about the life of a sportsman or any celebrity.i totally believe what the writer of the book parable of the pipeline . we should build our financial pipelines.we should not be focused on one part of the income. according to robert kiosaki whe should not invest in liability but invest in assets . liabilities are taking loans from the banks and getting tied up .we should join in other investment plans .like unit trusts , stocks , currency trading and so forth . just if one of your pipe breaks down you still have other pipes to survive.

ravin
Thanks Daisy for the encouragement. surely upload the pic on Facebook once we will do it.
Dear Big B,
Sir, pl permitt me to be critical about PAA. My son age 15 years is a keen move watcher and enjoys them all, however, of a few movies he did not appriciate the second half, as commented by him the, certain sequences were over streached. I too agree with him.
Your comments about the TV revolution is absolutely correct. The epic RAMAYAN was brought top thr ordinary by TV only. The village house children have taken up cadbury in place of sugarcane.
All is well.
Have a great day
Dear Sir,
You have raised a very valid point about sportspersons.
They do have every right to secure their future. They do have every right to earn handsomely. However they must never forget that it is all because of what they do on the the field and not vice-versa. If they are hailed and revered as heroes, then they must be ready to pay the extra price for it. Out of crores of people who take up sports as their career only handful of them get a chance to represent their country. They are the chosen few. So they are always on a pedestal that is sticky. If they don’t perform they got to perish coz they are ‘uncommon’ men and they get royal treatment during the good times. So when going gets touch for them, the backlash is obviously going to be severe.
Has any sportsperson ever questioned whether he deserves crores of rupees for just asking the viewers to go for a certain brand of commodities? Then why should they question when ‘not so good’ things fall in their path. You got to be ready for both. They say that they work really hard…then who doesn’t? Ask any person on the street, he toils his guts out, just to secure a square meal for his family. All his life he works hard for a house and may be for a vehicle. The media doesn’t hail him as a hero any day, so nothing bad will ever be written about him. However people, who become demi gods after a few good performances, should be prepared for unpleasant things, when things go awry.
They have done the country proud and won laurels…agreed!! Are all the people who win laurels for the country equally rewarded as the cricketers? A few months ago I read about ace archer Limba Ram, staying in the garage of certain politician. Was his contribution less than a Sanjay Bangar? Why only sportspersons, have we ever bothered to give due credit to the scientists, economists, professors, engineers, entrepreneurs? They are the ones because of whom the country is marching forward. They increase the per capita income of the ‘common man’, who then affords to watch the heroic deeds of the players on TV. After which the sponsors make huge moolah and in turn pay the cricketers who endorse their brand.
I may sound cynical about cricketers but I am not. I just want to say that they should be treated with restraint both in good and bad times. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Bunty
Dear Mr. Bachchan,
Mr. Abhishek Bachchan has just tweeted that you are going to get lifetime achievement award (Apsara Award) tonight and a mention of that in this blog too. My heartfelt congratulations. I endorse your views about sportsman’s life. Repeatedly I have truly admired your caring nature. You are great, sir!
I am thankful to all states who have made PAA tax-free.
Have a nice time.

Hi Genius,
rather late , but better late than never.
First , most important, let me wish you good luck for the awards this weekend. Saw the nominations in print today. I would rather you got some special kind of extraordinary award for Paa, rather than best actor… but I am neither the promoter nor the jury. So, I am going to pray for that extraordinary award for you, sometime.
Now… yes we must all try to secure the future… but I wouldnt put it so strongly as ‘make hay while the sun shines”, some may mistake it in their naivety. Something which I wouldnt hesitate to put in writing, cricket is rather over hyped and I wish the stars would focus more on their play than on the commercials. It is good to earn money ,but not at the cost of what one chooses as a speciality, or as a short term profession. I wouldnt write more, lest it hurt sentiments
Bye for now and good luck once again

Dear Amitji,
I really want to salute your thinking for common people like cameramen, photographers etc.! Hats off to you once again!
Yesterday you got impressed by Gujarat’s CM ! Not surprising b’cause you also think the same way! Why you left politics?
I/m sure if people like you join politics, we can definately bring the change very fast.

Dear Mr. Amitji,
This is first time I am writing a mail to you and thanks to your blog for giving me this Opportunity.
I donot know but from my childhood I have been loving your acting and films.
Till today I watch only your films in theaters. Sometimes on First Sat / Sun itself.
I have seen your Movie Sholay almost 75 times. I use to see on every Friday after coming from School in Video as we were having half day and at that I use to remember all the dialogs from the starting till last. Now, I am 33 years old but still when ever there is sholay on tv i try to take time to watch.
You are our pride and star of India for every.
Love & Regards
Amitabhji today’s HT carries a report that you would like to postpone release of TEEN PATTI as it clashes with Shahrukh Khan’s ”My name is Khan”
If TEEN PATTI has substance it will succeed at the box office on its own strength .
please do not postpone release of TEEN PATTI as it is a much awaited film.
Dear Lakshmi are you saying that you are the singer’s daughter or the actor who is singing Dinakara Shubakara. If it is the actor, I wouldnt know because with a childhood spent in North eastern India, my exposure to south movies especially non tamil is limited. Either way I am humbled to realise that not only the karta but the members of this BUF (Bachchan undivided family) have celebrity antecedents
Please enlighten this ignoramus.
Anand Hi to you too
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vk-u5n4SOPk&feature=related
My very dear Mr Bachchan,
Good afternoon. Hoping you slept blissfully well and are looking forward to being awarded again today. It would be perfect if you were able to spend time with your grandchildren before they depart.
I am reading that the Teen Patti stage show is scheduled for the Screen awards tomorrow and is famed to be a stunning display in every aspect. There is clearly such a fantastic fusion of creative panache and industry expertise behind that production. Finesse and quality simply oozes from every poster and promotional clip so far. I am very excited to see everything unfurl, it seems like only yesterday you were filming in Cambridge and we saw all the action shots with you and Sir Ben!!
Yes, you make yet another valuable point about TV. Miraculously a medium that began life as a ‘luxury item’ has expanded to become the ‘most’ vital institution in society. Entertainment is just the tip of the iceberg. Niche marketing /advertising’ is, I believe, the propelling force behind the industry and in this way all segments under the media and creative umbrella are becoming very incestuous, hence as you say, the huge number of staff from various contributing companies always present on the sets.
It’s a lucrative sector, but the quality of our viewing and indeed the viewers trust is at risk with this move towards mass commercialisation. When advertising is intimately mixed with entertainment and information; doesn’t that adulterate the purpose of entertainment. Who wants to be confronted with veiled sales pitches each time they watch the television, from which there is no escape wherever you turn! And to answer your question, who knows where the parameters of connectivity may end. As long as its not attached to or inside our person - I’m happy!
These two days will be an exciting time of celebration and felicitation fo you no doubt and I cannot reiterate more that you truly deserve to reap the accolade for your painstaking dedication to your craft. That Best Actor award for the morrow surely has your name on it!!
Skimming my previous comment, obviously I fell asleep (at your command) midway, hence the many mistakes I‘m sorry; but I know you will decipher my meaning from the garble. I have a day off work today and may well return. I’m keen to understand the implications of this ‘tax exemption’ properly and will endeavour to find out.
As ever, wishing your day goes in the most beautiful way. Take care of yourself Mr Bachchan.
My love and affection copiously and without measure,
Jasmine

Saw promos are RANN on various TV channels . I find promos quite fascinating .
Wish RANN all success .
Smile Ramu you have got a hit in RANN
Devkishin ji !
But I found Rann promos on maximum 2 or 3 channels.Promos are surely superb and brings a good news for Rgv but you dont think that Rann is not too much promoted as Paa promotes ??? And no new promos are coming ! Little worried !
Good Afternoon Amitji,
just thought of agreeing with u when u wrote about the plight of the cricketeers of the olden era, i too believe when you say ‘make hay while the sun shines’ which is thoroughly true otherwise u will be forgotten by and just kept as ‘old memories’. keeping in mind of one player of our indian team who played in the 70’s one example being that of our own ‘Solkar’ ! especially known for those lovely catches!! but how many dont know he lived in a miserly way of life and died as a pauper till his end. to be short n simple with changing times and short lived careers mostly in this field our cricketeers are not vulnerable and naive anymore, instead do know how to make a better lifestyle for their future prospects, raking in more moolah’ thru advertisements and other benefits and living in flashy lifestyles. not at all wrong seeing the other side of the coin otherwise they too will be forgotten as an old yesteryear hero ? anyways u take care and hope u have got my point ?
a fan of ures of the 70’s–anuradha
Dear Zainab,

‘paa” was entirely a new concept and therefore required aggressive marketing;whereas Rann is like ‘old wine in a new bottle’ . –a common story with a different treatment.
I found promos of RANN quite interesting
Don’t worry unnecessarily over the chances of Rann at the box office. It will be a hit as your favourite SUPER HERO Amitabh Bachchan heads the cast.

You are becoming shameless day by day. First you keep promoting your movies and your son using this blog. Inspite of your continued lying, PAA is still not ocnsidered a HIT in the trade. Now ofcourse you are trying to get TAX-free status for the movie in various states. The movie is almost done with its RUN in theaters and TAX free status will not help much. Even after planning from start by keeping the budget in check, promoting, begging to all big stars to attend premier, the movie is still not considered a hit. This just goes on to show that paying public does not care about you nor your talentless son. When aamir khan movie made 80 Cr in first week, PAA can not make a penny more than 30 Cr in its entire run inspite of generous reviews from media. That says a lot about your pathetic state. And now that SP is not able to help you, you are trying to cling onto Modi, shameles imo.
actually mera bhai to celebrity ban gaya (SUDEEP TYAGI indian team player) ab main soch rha hu ki main bhi kuch kar lu
Good eveining amit ji’
You r always a source of inspiration for all of us .You have always lived ur values even in ur most dificult times . Hoping to see u live on 14 jan at Bhaidas hall.

YOUR’s DEEPENDRA P.ROY.
I’m looking forward to reading all about your special night at the Apsara Awards and your description of the gala event. And I can’t wait to see the photos of your dashing self receiving the Lifetime Achievement award.
I have begun my day of watching bad cinema with the Elvis film marathon. It started with ‘Harem Scarum’ which must be one of the worst. I’ll never forgive Colonel Tom Parker for preventing him from showing his acting talent by making him do these types of films. There are a few good ones like ‘Love Me Tender’, Jailhouse Rock’ and ‘King creole’. But for now it’s ‘Kissin’ Cousins’.
I’m sure it will be a late night for you but I hope you don’t stay up all night.
Love,
Rochelle

Sir,
Congratulation for the success of ‘PAA’. I am 29 year old and brought in my family as a fan of Mr. Bachchan’s films and his dedications. Also via various blogs and paper I have also come to know about your punctuality. These things I also tried to follow in my personal and professional life too!! You are a true icon for everybody.
My point is something different and I hope you will answer it to all your fans. Sir, as we can see you a part of TOI and Jung group campaigen for Peace with Indo-Pak. Sir, it is true we cannot change the geography of this countries. but can we forget the pain which we are getting by loosing our families and friends during last Two decades due several terror incident. Indians are always a place for peace and friendship but should not be there any limit for such activities. We are yet to see any relevant actions against the 26/11 curlprits their in Pakistan. I know you are also very much patriotic but at our age ,since we have born we are only seeing the initiative which has been taken by our leaders like Mr. Vajpayee, Mr. singh and not to forget the cultural community of India but we have alwyas been backstabbed. Pakistan is still a one of the biggest place for piracy for Bollywood movies.
Sir, as juniour as your Son and as a part of young generation of this country all of us are looking forward towards you. Let this initiative the one which will create a new relation between this Two countires else we do not want to be back stabbed anymore.

Congratulations Sir on the tax exemption..
Auro’s picture on the top brings a smile to my face whenever I visit your blog…
Sir,Auro sirf paas nahin hua ,he is a topper indeed. He has scored a 100/100..believe me a 100% with all his witty answers if I go to quote a few “Uzbekistan mein”,”I hate slow motion”,”Vishnu ko le jaonga toh…royega..”
Amazing I tell you.
Your post about how you exchange messages with your colleagues of the film fraternity made me realize the importance of appreciation which the common man rarely implements.I wish I could teach the common man a chapter on “Appreciation” from the book of “Humanity”.
I hope Iam able to continue reading your posts regularly because each of them gets me smiling.
Thank you Sir…reading the blog makes me feel acquainted to you.
All the best!!!

HIIIIII YOUR FILM WAS VERY GOOD AND I WANT TO U PLZ MAKE A FILM FOR CONTROL POPULATION IT IS BIG PROBLEM OF INDIA
not just sports,is not true with any other vocation, profession, industry or in the career of any person in any field of work? as long as a person performs he is showered with all kinds of laurels, awards and appreciation but just one mistake and one is kicked out,all the good deeds forgotten in a moment! thats the irony of this world, hard but true.as in work humans most often think and use their mind and not heart..very sad indeed..
congratulations on the huge success of Paa…it is a film that would touch every human heart every where..,the films that are engrossing more money now a days may be successful ,but they can not be considered as a critically acclaimed film but PAA hac conquered both the world—-commercial as well as parallel.
love you sunshine,pradipta.
Dear Amitji,
. You are right , Sportsmen dont have it easy at all , the competetion is cut throat and to survive and succeed consistently is very hard at the international level. Its definitely good if they get their dues monetarily and with fame when they are performing at their best .
I am writing on the blog after a long time. Dint have much to write but read the blog religiously
Take care
Ashwin

Dear Sir,
“Tax exemptions” that you refer to, does this apply to the film makers or the cinema goers? I am sorry I don’t know. I would hope that this tax exemption applies to the audience more than the film makers so that it reaches a wider audience. I would like as many people as possible to see Paa because it educates people on having the right kind of attitudes with those that are physically/mentally challenged…they must never be made to feel inferior or be isolated from the mainstream society.
With the Awards that come, the show goes on. Your name and your talent bring you the deserved recognition through a commercial venture that will benefit the organizers which in turn helps the economy. All because they, the audience, want more of you!
The Sportsmen and their fate…I think those who pursue careers in the fields of art and talent are particularly at risk. You ask for our opinion on “make hay while the Sun shines.”…yes…make hay while the Sun shines… What opinion could I possible give on this matter except that this is all about demand and supply. To prove themselves again and again and to gain name, fame and material wealth again and again. If a sportsman wishes to pursue his profession on a long-term basis, continue walking on the edge of the sword, stay focused, fit, determined and as much committed. If luck is on his/her side, he/she will be in demand or else, someone else overtakes. Exceptional skills will be required to be in a position to make hay while the Sun shines. There will not be many winners. Once success is achieved, boy…will it taste sweet!!! The comforts and the luxuries that follow. I am extremely happy for those who through sheer hard work and talent manage to walk the edge of the sword. I feel sad that in most cases, this will be short lived. So yes, due to the short working-life-span, making hay is justified.
You love children, don’t you Sir…and to this loving Daddu, I wish lots of grand-children…one on this lap, one on the other, one in hand, one your back and the youngest one saying…”pick me up Daddu and take me to Snowman…” Your EFs will be on a search warrant for you…where is he gone…where is my Post…change of priorities….?????

Hello Amitji,
This is my candid analysis of PAA after having watched it 3 times.
Can you please let me know, why you edited the ‘Gumm Summ’ song from the movie. I was very much disappointed, that this wonderful song did not get the right placement in the movie, except for a few lines.
I am not sure if you are aware of the history of this excellent tune :
This is one of the best tunes of Raja Sir, the original being from a Malayalam film named Olangal(directed by Balu Mahendra). Then he re-used this touchy tune in a Telugu film(directed by Balu Mahendra), then in a tamil film(named Auto Raja), then for a BGM in film Mondram Pirai(with Kamal and Sridevi, directed by Balu Mahendra) and then in a Hindi Flim named Aur Ek Prem Kahani(again directed by Balue Mahendra).
Indeed this tune is a masterpiece of Raja sir and Balu Mahandra sir. I think, that’s why I see that you have given the ‘Thanks to credit’ to Balu Mahendra sir, during the start of the movie.
I was thrilled when I heard this tune again in PAA audio CD( thanks to Balki for bringing this tune to PAA), but was really disappointed that this song was edited out of the film. This song is deserves a better treatment and it should definitely get a prominent placement in the film. Why don’t you suggest to Balki to add the FULL GUMM SUMM GUMM song to the film again.
I am really wondering what prompted Balki & you to edit this classic master piece from PAA? Can you please let the EF know about this.
After having watching PAA 3 times,I booked 2 more tickets and asked my parents to see the movie. They came back and told me that after a long time, they enjoyed a neat and clean movie.
1) Its a true Balki’s golden touch straight from his heart.
2) The special thing about this film, is its simplicity. You can see this approach being adopted in many key areas like screenplay, dialogues (simple & pleasing), casting, expressions and the costumes.
3) Hats off to Balki for deviating from the main stream and adopting simplicity in his thoughts, vision, story, characters and the final end product. This simplicity was the greatest asset of Paa and that’s the reason why it was able to achieve such a high penetration rate into the market in such a short span of time.
4) An outstanding performance by Abhishek may be his best so far. Nobody could have played the character of Amol, so well. He lived and breathed as Amol throughout the film. Abhishek ensured that, the audiences see only Amol on screen and not himself. My kudos to him, so getting into the skin of the character so well and he carried himself so well with his simple costumes (white kurta) and powerful expressions.
5) What can you say about Vidya? All credit to her, for playing such a wonderful mother and for projecting her motherly instinct spontaneously. It would not have been easy for her to come through with such feelings & emotions, especially when you know that you are playing the mother of such a 67 year old legend, and not a small boy. But she did it with great ease. Balki also ensured that her costumes also added a lot of colour to Vidya’s character. There we times, when she loses her cool to her mother (Auro’s Granny) and to Amol, she was simply brilliant in those packed performances.
6) Raja Sir’s music is just unparalleled; such is the effect. Re-recording is a special skill and only a genius like Raja sir can create such an impact.
7) With Paa, Raja Sir has proved to himself and his critics that he is NOT a music director; but a TRUE CREATOR of quality music. His tunes just keep ringing and ringing. Raja sir has created such an impact in a lot of films in Tamil(e.g. Many films of Mani Ratnam like Nayagan, Mouna Ragam, Agni Natchathiram, Anjali, Thalapathi, Punnagai Mannan, Aboorva Sagodharargal etc) and I was very happy that he renewed his magic with Paa.
9) Picturization of the songs was done in a very lively way and you can see the richness in each song. Great team work by Balki and PC sir, for giving a visual treat.
10) Especially I was disappointed when the songs “Gumm Summ” and “Meri Paa” did not feature in the main film. These were some excellent numbers, but we could hear only a few lines of “ Gumm Summ” in the background(during the hospital scene) and the “ Meri Paa” song by Amitji, came only at the last after the film had finished(when the credits where given after the film).
I really want to know from Balki or Amitji, why these 2 value adding songs were chopped from the main picture!
11) The work of 3 genius Balki, Raja sir and PC sir is very much evident when you see this film. It’s an experience by itself, short, sweet and value adding.
12) Finally the energy and passion with which Amtiji has carried off Auro is simply phenomenal !
4 hrs of make up, waking up at 2:30am, 2hrs to remove the make up, all at the age of 67, can somebody do this! Yes, only Amitji….His energy and passion for this film has created further positive energy into the entire chain and this has given the film such a divine blessing; that it cannot fall back.
With this film Amitji has proved to the entire world that you can still given simple, intelligent and value based films to this society and the people will support it; if you give the message it in the right way. There was absolutely not even 1% of masala element in this film. I sincerely hope that our south Indian leading actors should take a leaf out of this experience and provide such quality films.
To sum it up :
Paa is NOT a movie, but an experience that Balki has shared to this world and has proved that you do not need long lead time, high budget, tech-funda graphics, sexy numbers by the heroines, masala scenes to make it a success. All you need is simplicity in story and thinking; with a belief that the script is the real hero of the film and not vice versa.
It’s a real tribute to a simple human being (with a lot of energy, positive attitude, passion and commitment) named Amitabh Bachchan! It’s a one of those rare film, which will make you feel at the end – why did Balki restrict this movie to 2hr and 10mins! That’s the real success of how well audience has embraced Paa.
Kind Regards,
Bharath S
मैं आपका इंतिज़ार कर rahi hoooo
Aisa aadmi jo itna busy ho sakta hai kya likh sakta hai,,,,,,mujhe vishwash nahi hota,,,,,,,,,
Amitabh Bachchan and Kishore Kumar are religion to Indians across the world. Words like Genious, Prodogy are under statements to match their potential and capabilities. I believe a humans can get elivated to God status if they serve humanity. To some extent Gandhiji comes to the level of God as he Quit his high profile NRI status late 1800 and returned to India and served all Indians. If I am allowed to do so I can place him in the same pool as Sri Ram, Jesus, Guru Nanak etc. We have to accept that they had skin, flesh and bones like we did. Their deeds made them God.
Our beloved Amitab has the potential to reach that same pool if he does some great charity like Warren Buffet. Donate the money to the poorest of poor in India.
Why he shouldnt do that? His son is capable of earning his own bread and butter. His daughter in-law can earn her own bread and butter.
Every Indian will be killing themselves to take care of the every meal of the Amit and Jayaji with love and effection.
So Why not our God Amitabh will become a real God by donating his money to the poorest of poor.
Tough to imagine how many poor people who got just one rupee in the pocket watched his movies by skipping the meal.
Amitji, It is Time to give back and elevate yourself from human status to God!
You like my idea or not, still you will be our Hero.

Hello sir, I like to read ur blogs this one for sportsman which u wrote i am very happy for that as u seen in one ad which Yuvraj Sigh said “JAB TAK BALLA HAI TAB TAK THAAT HAI” after this nothing to earn for cricketers and in india only cricket is famous in sports not hockey, basket ball or football. My father told me once that our football team also qualified once in FIFA worldcup and went but they reached in final but our government didnot gave them shoes so they played wid naked foot in whole world cup and took wal out in final due to shoes. I hope it was in 1948 or in 1949 m not sure the year.

Greetings of the Day, Amit Ji.
I don’t know whether you will read it or not, I don’t think you would have that enough time to read this, but I have to write it because to send you a little massage.
I was watching news yesterday, and your association with Mr. Narendra Modi (Chief Minister of Gujarat). To my surprise, just to get Paa (An exceptionally well movie, produced by your company) tax free in Gujarat, you were praising Mr. Modi (I don’t know whether it really affected you, the Gujarat carnage). I heard a famous saying, “Money is not everything, but make sure you have lot of it before saying this nonsense”, I think, you have lot of it, and just for money you praised Mr. Modi (If my parents have not taught me the basics, then I would have use a foul language for him). Sir, you are a son of Great Hariwansh Rai Bachchan, the poet, philosopher and you mingle with this fanatic and tainted man, really amazing.
Just to say…..May Allah give you good health.
Greetings!!!
Good evening to you and good mood!

Mr Bachchan, People will think over and over again what made son of Harivansh Rai Bachchan stoop so low that he met Modi a mass murderer and sang praises for the nero. May be I should read Madhushala and I may get my answer somewhere.
Musalman aur Hindu hain do,
ek magar unka pyala,
ek magar unka madiralay,
ek magar unki hala,
dono rehte ek, na jab tak mandir masjid mein jate,

Dear Sir,
First of all I want to wish you a very happy and healthy new year. It won’t be an exaggeration if I tell you that your films have added great value to my life. It seems now is my turn to reciprocate by adding some value to your life.
Well, I have mastered amazing psychic skill of ESP (Extra sensory Perception). based on which I have predicted many events including terrorist attacks and fire break out in IOC Jaipur. I had also given these predictions to media ,Star Tv, Aaj Tak, etc. I also had given some predictions to honorable C.M Mr. Narendra Modi during my personal meeting with him.All my prediction have turned out to be 100% true.
I have some accurate predictions about future health challenges you will have. I think by sharing those with you I can add some value to your life. my email address is mindmastersindia@gmail.com. I would like to share my predictions with you once I get response from you.
Thanking you with regards,
Ashwanikumar

Mein kaafi dino se aap ke blog ko dhundh raha tha. Narendraji Modi ki wajah se aap aakhir mil hi gaye. Aasha karta hu aap kushal honge. Aaj aap ke jivan mein huve ek lamhe ke baare mein padha aur fir se ladne ki prerana hui (Yashji ko aap kaam ke liye milne gaye). Aap ki prasansha nahi kar raha hu par aap ke baare mein kabhi koi bura kaheta hai to aisa lagta hai ki muje kisine gaali di ho. Aap ke purani filmo mein jo nayak tha ANGRY YOUNG MEN woh kai baar hum mein se kisi na kisi mein bahar aate raheta hai. Mein filhal taklif/sangharsh se gujar raha hu kyonki mein sach ki ladai lad raha hu jahan script likhi hui nahin hai.
Aap se kisi ek 18-19 saal ke bachche ko milwana hai taaki uske jivan mein parivartan aa jaaye. Woh filmo ka diwana hai par duniya ki hakikat se anjaan hai. mere email id hai sirrajeshbhatt@gmail.com, sirrajeshbhatt@yahoo.co.uk, meetrajeshbhatt@yahoo.co.uk ispe agar aap muje bata denge to mein us bachche ko lekar aa jaaunga. Waise aap chahe to Abhishek ya Akshaykumar ko bhi se bhi milwade to woh log us bachche ko samjade ki bhai filmo mein aur vastavikta mein fark hai is liye beta padhhai mein dhyan do aur apne maa-baap ka kaha maano. Mein aasha karta hu ki aap muje sahi raasta dikhayenge. - Rajesh J Bhatt (93201 44012) RAJU
Dear Mr. Bachchan
Congratulations on the movie Paa.
Just had the opportunity to watch it last night.
Truly amazing and delightful!
And special thanks to you for finally, reciting the Gayatri Mantra properly.
It was quite deplorable to hear you screw up your pronunciation of the Gayatri Mantra in Mohabbatein.
Wishing you the best!

9th January is the 88th Birthday of the 1968 Nobel Prize Winner for Physiology Medicine - Professor Har Gobind Khorana who helped cracking the genetic code- the way the DNA information in triplets called codons is translated into specific amino acids in the protien that is biosyntheised after transcription into mRNA.. I wish Professor many more meritorious achievements.. I did read a lot about him during the transition period from corrosion to organic chemistry during mid eighties.. I was also associated in DNA synthesis of oligonucleotides something that he had pioneered way back in 60s..Long live Professor Khorana and his achievements in the world of genetic sciences..
It is quite astonsihing to know that Renate on the blog has met him sometime during the time I was reading about him.. I had gone to meet Dr. Parul Chakrabarti of Bose Institute of Science just for the sake of her having worked in his laboratory.. someday I shall work deeper into the understanding of oncogenes..I had to curtail my antisense work on chronic myeloid leukemia at Cancer Research Institute for non-avaialbility of some of the precursors required for the synthesis of oligonucleotides required for that work.. some other day.. when I shall return to active research I shall devote more time and energy to the subject..
Love, regards and respect

Post Script: I know I do not have to seek your permission to publish this post greeting Professor Har Gobind Khorana.. I dedicate this Kabir Doha to him..
Guru Gobind dou khade, kake lagoo paany
balihaari guru aapki, Gobind diyo bataay.
It is interesting to observe that I have not had any direct conversation or communication with him.. He was introduced to me by my brother Alok Sharma who accoridng to me wanted to master chemistry an biology like him.. it is only an irony that though I did my post graduation in chemistry yet I have not read biology beyond eighth standard.. everyone must be laughing out loud with my expectations to win the war against cancer.. let me tell you that I did work in DNA field for sometime and I may not know much of chromosomes yet I know a great deal of DNA, RNA and protein chemistry that is more closer to understanding of the disease at the micro level..no, no, I am not saying that I would defnitely be able to do it.. but then there is no harm in giving it s shot.. The last ten years of my service should thus be more devoted to reading and understanding of Cancer..
This brother has been copy pasted from my site where it accompanies twin poems on the Guru Gobind Khorana.. who is currently at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge and working for the departments of Chemistry and Biology..

You are treading in my territory. Elvis Presley. Did some good movies and some dunkers. But overall in his time here he captured the hearts of millions. Have you been to Graceland? I havent.. but have seen pics and vids of ‘virtual’ tours (like they’re everywhere) When my oldest sister was 16 she took me to the local theater and we saw King Creole and for being so impressionable way back then it was amazing. Even to this day the memories are very strong with his fans . His later movies were a little better but then nothing can replace pure raw talent at the beginning. thanks for the memories.

Sir,
I do not know how to describe you as…but certainly u r not only the great actor of india but much much more than that, people of my age see you as a fatherly figure, you are so much into our nerves and blood that your single move makes us feel like something is happening within family, be it’s your family, son, daughter in law…people i hav met consider you as a symbolic icon who think u can never do anythng wrong, i can imagine how tough it can be for you to maintain their expecation. i remember a friend arguing with me for your role in nishabd, he was not ready to talk about act, art, movie, performance but just one thing whether it was a right movie or not..i know u have been treated as amore than actor and still act is the first thing ppl want to see from you, paa is a mer example of your briliance…i would say just keep on doing the work, please dont bother about whether its is good or bad because many like me has adopted a usual habit of seeing u around in cinemas..u have been the reason for many to follow movie news, see blogs and going in theatres and seriously we do not want to get rid of this habit.
all the best and may god give u long life.
Mr Bachchan,
Congratuations on becoming BRAND AMBASADOR of Gujarat
Mr Modi has soul in his body unlike other politicians. He is the only politician I have respect. Just as I admire you, particularly the grace with which you handle yourself publicly. But most admirable was you rising back with KBC and K3G, when you are completely written off. In real life it is tough. I know I have had my share.
Mr Modi’s praise brought me to your blog.
Best Regards
Vimala Pepiya
PS: I also(for the first time) wrote in Mr.Aamir’s blogs re: his tutu mainmain in public with SRK, may I ask you to advise them against such nonsense.

AMIT JI !Believe me,in all above conditions, only and only you make me smile and laugh.I remember that when the second promo from movie Paa was on air then on the day when I saw it,I was too angry, dont remember why,but I was in great anger but when I first time saw the promo and in promo when you say ” Paa” I only smile but when you say “Haw..Haw”,believe me,I cant able to control my laugh.I dont laugh because of your voice or your words but this sudden loud smile comes due to your sweetness of shying … Unforgettable Sweetness ! Ok,no more boring long comments.Aek reply de do na AMITABH JI, Aap ka jaye ga, sirf 1 ya 2 minutes lekin yahaan per mere ghante aap ke jawaab ke intezaar mein guzar jate hain … kuch tu tarse khayen hum per
Waiting for your reply from long time.I think that my luck dont wants to shine again … No reply, bad and tensed routines, if a smile come on my face,by chance, then always happened a little bad thing which spoils my mood, even after great revision, not satisfied by my exams and above all,no reply from you
Love you very much and always and forever, ever ,

Kashmiraji…you are simply awesome and was really touched by your mention of Jawans…they are the real heros ,the are our saviour and they never seem to realize their contribution to a common man’s life.i had the chance to interact with them at all levels and it’s always heartwarming to be in company of jawans..they are full of humour, passion for duty towards nation, most jovial and understanding.loved the account of mentioning them. Thanks
Adarniya Shri Amitabh Bachchanji,
Congratulations on getting tax exemption for ‘PAA’ in various states. I believe its after a long time that a hindi movie has been made tax free. As always, you have set an example… am sure other stars will try the same for their movies.
Celebrity status always has its ups and downs. An ordinary person always has to earn it by giving in something more than the norm. If a cricketer is facing this problem, can’t imagine how other sports personalities would be feeling when they are in public. Wonder how many of us could recognize a player from our National Game, Hockey. Maybe a Dhanraj Pillay might get recognized, but what about the others? I believe your association with a particular sport has to be beyond your playing days and that comes with passion for the game. Whether you take on coaching or commentary or something else, you have to live it forever.
Hope to get your message during the ‘PM’ hour, please take due rest. Sleep Well and Keep Good Health…

Okay, I’m slightly slow in grasping this point, but from what I now read and comprehend, the purpose of the tax exemption is as simple as it sounds and I sincerely hope the remaining applications in Delhi and Maharashtra shall be granted to maximise inexpensive accessibility to watching PAA.
It’s delightful the Government is not beyond supporting a worthy film with a sensitive and pertinent storyline…
Just hoping the ambiance at the Apsara awards is/was jubilant as you receive your felicitation. The nominations suggest a competitive star studded line up with Preity doing the honours again; she recently presented you the same award at the MAMI’s too if memory serves. But please no modest stances onn this occasion dearest Mr Bachchan. You should hold your head high with satisfied pride as you accept your award!
Thinking of you, enjoy and I hope its not a terribly late night considering the activity the morrow promises. Please choose sleep over writing if you are tired, surely everyone will understand…

Amit ji,
You r absolutely right about the affairs of sportsmen in our country. The men in uniform are no good after retirement either.
Hope u influence the industry to come out with some good movies on their cause.
Good luck, and sweet dreams
Dear Amitji,
I have been your fan all my life, but I was very proud and happy to find out that even my 8 yr old loves you and your movie. Staying in US, she is always watching movies with me and she knows I am your huge fan. We watched PAA togeather and I was amazed when she wrote for her essay that best thing she did in holidays was watch PAA and loved Auro.
As usual, you are one person that touches everyones heart ; kid to adult.
God bless you and your family.

Dear Amitji,
Why don’t the Censor Board do the 2 things simultaneously -
1 is to issue Certificates ( A,B,C….)
2 is to inform the states or Central Govt to make it TAX FREE if it is worth it.
Why do we need to wait for 4-5 weeks to see that good and beautiful films are exempted from heavy Entertainment Taxes ?
Dear Sir,
Excited to know about consistence performance of PAA…..!
Sanjay Bangar episode….! It happens everywhere in the life….! Popularity is very volatile in sports and even in movies… only exceptional perosnalities … like you , Sachin Tendulakar… etc are blessed….! otherwise i have not forgotten about Mr. Bharat Bushan’s episode - Waiting for Local Bus and noticed by you ….GOD is Great ….!
I know about Sanjay Bangar through my nephew Vikas who plays for Western Railway Cricket Team and employed there …. Sanajy Bangar is his team captain … . and being his team mate….he is generous enough to give his flat for my nephew’s family in Vadala near IMAX (PAA premier) at almost nil rent…!
But goodness, richness and popularity may or may not be proportional …. !
This is LIFE….which no one can understand….!
respected amitabh sir
you are really humble that you spared time for a cricketer who is not in contention right now.
in recent past team India became no.1 test team, bcci declared a price money of 50 lakhs to each cricketer who was played that match. my question is attaining no.1 spot is n a one night journey??? not at all it took 77 years many many great cricketer came, many many came and just went away like a breeze but they all contributed a bit.
the who played for India in 50’s, 60’s & 70’s dont have money even for medical treatment……
bcci should step in there should help these cricketers
Hello Amit ji,
Congrats for getting tax-free in some states. PAA deserves all the attention and acclaim it is getting. You deserve every bit of its success.
It was very nice of you to go and meet the cricketer. You are very modest and down-to-earth. That is what makes you so special. It shows in the way you connect with your fans, your FmXt. We love you Amit ji. We all love you.

I have been a big fan of yours since your Anand days. You are a very talented actor. I have very high respect not just for your acting but your intellect. Your are a very intense and humble person and very good human being. The roles that you are protraying are really commendable and not many are capable of doing them. I pray God to give a very healthy and long life so that you can keep entertaining us. Your concerns for the common men are applaudable. Taking time to see forgotten people is incredible. I hope your actions inspire other actors and individuals of your stature.

I dont really understand how Paa qualifies for be tax exempt. I agree it is a good movie, very well made and tackles a very less known disease. Why does it qualify for not paying govt its necessary dues? It is not reducing any burden on govt by whatever it is.
Just because a movie is hit and has good/diff story, I dont think it should be tax exempt. Yes it is was dealing with any national issue may be. But as far as I know I dont think Progeria is a national issue in India.
Taare Jameen Par never got tax exempted. 3 Idiots deals with more of a national issue of Indian Educational system or student suicides, that did not get tax exempt either.
Just my thoughts.
Good luck

Hi,
I have seen Paa 3 times, still I like seeing Auro doing haw haw……You have rightly pointed out sportsman life is short. Everybody tries to earn money. If our sportsman do, I feel they are doing right. Because once they are in bad shape, we shun them like anything else..take the case of Ganguly…see how how he was treated………Vinod Kambli…it’s shame for us Indians….we do not know how to give value to our players. Not only players…we really do not know how to value our real heros too. so let our players make money when they are shinning.

Hi Sir,
So happy that PAA is doing so well! It really deserves all the best.
Also … I like what # 34 said!! So true!
Regards,
Aruna.
Dear Meghna of 356,
If 3 idiots deals with education, try to understand ‘Paa’ deals with struggle of life without being preach an rona dhona. If 3 idiots have message, I feel Paa has greater message in a subtle way. The message is - if a difficult situation in life is faced boldly, life can be made beautiful and easy. Paa did that without saying All is well in a subtle way. Take the scene - how an understanding and loving mother supports her unwontedly pregnant daughter - this is the real strength an message of ‘Paa’. Life for the pregnant girl and her son Auro would have different if mother was not there with her support. Is this not a great encouraging message to us to change our life for better? Paa has lot of subtle universal message…Pls try to understand that, you will get the justification of giving tax exemption. Take care….
Jaydip
Very true, Amitji. Players like Vinod Kambli deserved better. More opportunities should have been given to him. After all, he has a test average of more than 50 per innings in 17 tests. Having said that, the state of Indian Hockey players is even worse. This is a sport where we have won 8 Olympic Gold medals. This is a sport where we have so much talent, and history. Hockey’s status and popularity should have been on par with Cricket or atleast second to Cricket in India. The truth is that no one seems to care for this sport anymore.
Thanks for Paa. Great Movie. Great performances.
– Shriram
Jaydip Das,
Meghna says she doesn’t understand what qualifies PAA for tax exemption. Your response to her is merely an opinion on certain scenes and a reflection of what message you derived from it. This doesn’t mean the film should be exempt from taxation.
Taxation is a much need resource for any country and to exempt goods and services from this is a further burden on society.

Hi,
I see comparision between 3I and PAA here? Why? They are totally different different movies and I think both movies are good and should be seen again and again. But if I were to present a best actor award, it goes to Mr. Bachchan. For a 60+ yrs.old to play a 13 years old is incredible. Hats off to you Sir.

Well, you have to take my comments with a pinch of salt. To me, life is like a fantasy and this train like a Harry Potter movie is really neat.

Respected Amit ji,
I am very pleased to write here first time. If I praise you whatever you have done for the country and humanity, it will be like showing lamp to Sun. It is evident that you are public figure with penetration in millions of people like me who consider you as their role model. I feel heartly that if you challenise your fans to the noble causes like helping street children, downdrodden women, by doing something extraordinary for the senior citizens of the country, protecting the environment, it can encourage a large mass of population to emulate the path shown by you and millions of human beings can be benefitted by this noble start. Also, if you donate some money openly from your huge treasure for such causes, many wealthy fans may spare some part of their income to support these people by adopting them.If you happen to read this comment, please pay some head to my opinions. Thanks.
Greatfully yours,
Rajesh Sharma
Respected,
It is nice to listen about tax exemption of your movie “Paa”. Superb… i believe that in this movie, you have crossed all the limits of acting and performed excellently. All the best for you and your family and for your next movies.

Respected Amitji,
Nice to read your todays post. All you four are together in your sweet home, such a nice bond that everyone follow such sweet and simple thing.thanx for sharing.pl do take good care.Bye.
Ram Bhole.
I am a great fan of yours and have read many times about your blog. To day first time I am reading yr blog and posting comments. My daughter Jeyati is in 12th and hence has no paln to see PAA immediately but it is beyond any doubt that it is one more feather in your cap. There are only a countable in the industry whom I admire ultimate - they rae the THE TWO GREAT LEGENDS - YOU AMITAJI AND THE GREATEST SHOWMAN LATE SHRI RAJKAPOOR.
Amitji why have sympathy only for cricketers ? Its true and universal that you are remebered only till you are productive and forgotten thereafter, because it is your performance or productive contribution which is being admired unlike for very special people like you and few such who are above normal on more than one account and have multifaceted contribution in their field and socisty in General. Is it not sad that even Mr. Gambhir has lost interest in the cricket, is it because no more productive for him.
Anyway now i will remain regular raeder of your blog and share my views.
good night and have a nice sleep.

Dear Sir
Congrats to you and all the rest involved in creation of “PAA”.
You are spot on when you say that sportsmen have a very limited period in the limelight and even shorter duration of being in their peak. There’s no harm if they use this time to secure their and theirs future. I feel opting for Sports as an occupation is a very risky decision, specially in a country like ours where one is mostly on one’s own. Thousands dream of it and there is only one Sachin or MSD or Sehwag.
Also, one can compare it with Bollywood where hundreds of thousands aspire but only a select few actually arrive. We don’t grudge a top star charging fees in crores during the time he/she is in demand, because that time will not last forever. Also, if a movie featuring a top star bombs, we don’t come out and say its because of distractions in the form of advertisements which have caused this.
We should always remember there are no retakes in Sports, one mistake, one extra fatal movement of willow by a fraction of an inch and it could mean end of your playing life, and all that comes along with it. At the end of the day the sportsperson himself has to strike a balance between his extra curricular earnings and his core competency that is playing the game well. Life can be very harsh for someone who doesn’t and start taking the game for granted. You are in demand, you are paid for endorsements, appearances for as long as you are doing your primary job well. Those who do realise this increase their earning duration. Those who don’t, and here luck also plays a major factor, regret for the rest of their lives, full of bitterness for all times to come.
Vinod Kambli was one rare talent, but recklessness and poor luck (others were available to replace him) cost him his rightful place in the history, but it should be a lesson to people like Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, et al., to keep first things first.
Dear Mr. Bachchan ,
I agree with almost all that you said and it’s amazing that PAA is getting exempted from tax in so many states .
I have to mention that i love Shahrukh in Swades too and once when had the opportunity to meet him in 2005,i told him the same .He was outstanding in the movie ,so just thought would mention .
.But must say am in complete admiration of your observation ,analysis and judgement of things too ..
I feel even more lost now :),so would need to go and just BE
regards
