DAY 603

SocialTwist Tell-a-Friend

Posted on: December 15, 2009 - 8:51 pm

Jalsa, Mumbai                     December  15,  2009                    Tue  8 : 25 PM

Early to bed, early to rise makes a man healthy wealthy and Auro wise !!

I fill in ahead of time. I fill in from different location and environment. It seems odd, but connecting with the extended family has never been an encumbrance and shall never be one.

The schedule has been somewhat relaxed and so have the time constraints. And as always when you have the time you never know what to do with it. Especially if the past few days have been as hectic as I have been describing.

India won a sizzler again in the one day International against Sri Lanka and what a punch up it was. Over 800 runs in a one dayer - unimaginable ! But it happened. Both teams were exceptional. India just that little bit better. And guess what ? The moment the bails were dislodged for the end game, the sms es started coming in to moi !! India won again sir !! Auro is lucky for the team !!  Ha ha .. this is really stretching it too far ! Superstitious elements give Auro undue benefit.

There is though, great reference to this little progeria ridden guy, with bald head and awkward teeth, squeaking his voice out with unselfconscious rapidity. Jaya, calls in from Delhi on her way to Parliament to say that every one in the august house has been coming up to her and complimenting the film. Many among them being those that had due to party affiliations, never done so before. Auro for Parliamentarians !! Wow !!

And now … as Paa lingers on, we start considering the others in line. RANN and TEEN PATTI. They are now keen to launch their promotions. I still want to dwell in the joyous feel of our film. To remain with him as long as I can - with Auro and Paa. But I guess all good things must come to an end, so we move, or at least prepare to move. Its the way of the world.

There is an invitation to come for a preview of AVATAAR, the Hollywood film in 3D and being set up for release here in India. It is with  Reliance our partners in PAA and one will honor that. So off I go and shall be back after it is over, perhaps to ruminate on how the rest of the day transpired, how and what needs to be shared with FmXt, and what my thoughts are before being consumed by slunber.

Till then dear ones …

Amitabh Bachchan

    Dear Lion King

Thank you for the early connect. I thought Avtaar is a Fox Star production? We will be watching the premier here too in HK.

I await Teen patti with bated breath! Glad that we won the one day, Auro’s magic still lingers.

In the meantime, here is a link to a few interesting topics and recollections for your perusal and there is a poll question in the first one.

    Dear Amit Sir,

I just finished watching your movie and like hundreds of thousands of others who also did the same, I cannot stop admiring your effort and the message you, your son, the rest of the cast as well as Balki sir have put accross. I just wanted to make my voice known to you that this movie is THE best movie I have seen so far in my 18 years of life. Thank you for making such a wonderful film sir, it was truly amazing - and seriously, no other film can overpower the audience the way this film has. The father son relationship is extremely sensitive and the way it was excellently portrayed sir. From Singapore, a very big thank you and you will be in our prayers always. Aap aur aapki paarivaar ki safallata hum kamaana karte hain. Thank you sir.

  18. Rav says:

    Sir
Its great to read all this praise for PAA and i’m sure you deserve it. Thing is we ( my family) haven’t seen PAA yet, because i wrote earlier to you that it plays in the worst cinema i have seen in my city Calgary, Canada and really bad management. So we don’t go there anymore. Now we are waiting for the DVD to be released. Sometimes we drive to another city about 3 hrs drive and watch whats playing there but these days the temperature is near - 40 C, so can’t do that either. Will wait……..
Sabar ka ful mithay hota hai……
    Regards

  20. Daisy M says:

    Dearest Mr Bachchan

Delighted, overjoyed and ecstatic that you FINALLY enjoyed a somewhat relaxed day.. and with all the delights of a cricket thriller to enthrall you too.

Yes I fevently hope you can bask in the euphoria of PAA for as long as possible… but I feel it is one of those films like Black which will evoke love and warmth and admiration forever… everywhere the film goes - and everywhere you go too.. with never ending affection. You will excel in other projects too of course , but some films just magically touch people’s hearts.

Do hope you enjoy Avataar tonight - I can’t wait to see it myself after catching the trailers. Word is that it takes film visuals to a new level, and James Cameron has always been a maestro of film technology.

    With love from Daisy

  24. RAVI P MALHOTRA says:

Dear Amitji, Good Evening. Having missed to comment on your blog is a big vacuum for me. Before I could catch up for the day you have posted another one. Its truely a Rail Gadi and a bogie gets added everyday. Hope I can keep pace and fill my missing days.
A relaxed day after basking in success of Auro is a good sign. Auro has entered Parliament also is a good sign of real success. May be one day Auro will be addressing an August gathering of VVIPs and make a political point. Please look after interests of small children will be Auro’s message to the Parliament. Especially look after the challenged children.
Have a wonderful film review and we look forward to other movies like Teen Patti and Rann. Frankly they stand to gain from Auro. People will like to see original Amitabh Bachchan in them. So Auro will change to real man and people will have true comparisons between Auro and AB.
My regards to all those who care and share their prosperity with the under-preveleged.
    Ravi P Malhotra

  25. Jayesh Valambhia says:

    Dear Sir,

Superb, superb, superb. To think that a man of your calibre always makes times for others is truly an example for others to follow and adhere.

But the next big question. What’s next after Paa?

    Best wishes,

    Jay

  26. Aishwarya, TVM. says:

    Dear Amitji,

Making movies in close succession feels like having babies not well-spaced out! U know before one begins to crawl, along comes the next, and when that lil one barely sits up, u have junior no. 3! And then all u have are cries, dirty diapers, squabbles on whose turn it is to feed and clean and then when its all over, just pics and hazy memories to smile and weep about!! :)

Jayaji must be beaming with pride now. Both for her husband and her son. What a great moment for a wife and mother!

    Have a pleasant evening, Amitji.

    Love

    Aishwarya.

  27. rochelle says:

I’m glad you have a little time to rest now after all the hectic days you have had recently. I wasn’t expecting such an early post.

Yes, the one drawback of having so many films releasing in such a short time is that you cannot linger in the glory for too long. I hope all of them will be received at least as well as PAA so you can continue lingering.

I am off to look for appropriate attire to play a reporter in the TV series ‘The Good Wife’ on CBS as an extra tomorrow. This time I will get paid for probably 12 to 14 hours but now I must spend money on clothes. Bargain stores, here I come!

Enjoy AVATAAR and I hope we hear from you again later.

    Love,
    Rochelle

  28. Bisu says:

    Dear Sir,

Its amazing how you manage to perform such roles. I am a big fan of yours since my school days. You are a role model for our group of friends. Sir, I sometimes wonder, unlike us, you have missed the boon/delight of having a man like Mr. Amitah Bachchan to look forward to.

My daughter Srishti(4 years) is the latest Big B fan in our family and knows you as Bhoothnath Uncle. She has been asking me if she can meet you. Is it posible sir?

wishing you great health and success for the forethcoming movies

    Bisu

  29. Archana says:

    Dearest Mr B,
I can just visualize your excitement.. seems to ooze from each letter in every word that you pen!! You deserve all this and more.. May God keep fulfilling your every wish & keep you smiling always. My prayers are always with you & yours.
Now, look forward to the release of Rann & Teen Patti - movies of different kinds, but will be interesting just ‘cos it has you in it!!
Take care & make the most of this small hiatus before you get hit again with all the promos for those 2 movies..
    All my love as always,
    Archana Detroit.

  41. Manjiri says:

    Dear Big B
I don’t know whether you will read this or not. But can’t stop myself from telling you this.
Finally I met Auro on Sunday. Oh what a meeting it was! Simply loved him and his naughty-ness, the priceless one liners. Especially “Google se bachke kaha jayega” and ‘Pichhalibar mera popat hua tha!’ and so many others! I also loved his expressions and reactions when the girl in his school tries to approach him.
How do you do this Big B? and who choreographed that Auro dance? he/she deserves a pat on the back. I simply can’t get over Auro…nor do I want to.
But let me tell you, I also kept remembering the hard work, the discomfort, the pain that you endured while essaying Auro. Special salute to you for that.
Mr Bachchan you rock!Keep on giving us these treats.

  44. SK says:

    Hey Auro,

After seeing PAA I can definitely say that, the only person who could have done ‘Auro’ better than Amitabh Bachchan is Amitabh Bachchan only. You are the best. No one can ever ever come close to you in this field for sure. Everyone everywhere is talking about Auro only.

    Best Wishes..Love you

  45. Sudhir says:

    For AB,

Stephen Hawking in the sequel ‘A Briefer History of Time’ presents a model of the expanding balloon universe in which all galaxies are moving directly away from each other. In effect the more distant a galaxy is, the faster it appears to be moving.

I am drawing a metaphorical parallel on a mirror with an image that is inverted after it passes the focal point.

Honestly, until I read in your own words on this blog about the night you spent outside a Mysore hotel to meet Prakash Mehra prior to the release of a movie, I had never imagined that you were an active participant in the packaging of the end product. I stand corrected now. It was nice to know, though not necessary.

However, with Paa and your added accountability as a producer there are parallax errors in this view that need spheroid corrections, lest the vision gets so astigmatic that one fails to distinguish between the actor and the merchant.

The paradoxical transposition of Hawking’s expanding universe here is that while the blog may reveal a fact that lay obscured from public light for all these years it also creates an incongruous illusion of a shrinking universe!

But science is not based on fantasies. A mirage despite all its glorious shimmering cannot meet the defining parameters of a real oasis.

The fastest moving galaxy is also the farthest from the eye. The parallax in the vision is caused by the reversal of the images at a moving focal point.

In the Oil Industry, the entire nation is considered a stakeholder in the business plans. The shareholders play their role as investors.

I am not sure how this works in performing arts. Are viewers counted as stakeholders in the process? What is considered at stake? Does the universe of a performing artist expand or shrink?

Difficult to say from this distance…

    Love

    Sudhir

I guess this could be a first one… Early post and early retiring to bed… Don’t hear these words from you often…

But we are glad that you are having this opportunity of getting some rest, it’s amazing how you are able to go on for days with little rest… PAA’s magic will remain for long time even if new movies come and take up the screen space…Hopefully the next one’s in line will have better if not same success…

Avataar has received some wonderful reviews from a lot of critics and one would not be surprised after watching Terminator movies and Titanic, if this surpasses them in popularity and profits… Hope you enjoy and let us know your views on it…

  54. Satyam says:

    Latest IBOS update:

The film that is following the pattern of Chak De India and doing so without tax exemption support so far is Paa, which too had a slow opening but is on what can only be described as a steady yet decisive roll. Steady because the film’s collections are not showing the usual rate of drop in India. And decisive because though the film is being described as a multiplex success in the usual trade segments, it in fact on its weekend 2 recorded housefull (ie 100% of capacity) shows in ’single screens’ in the ending night shows spanning single screens from Mumbai to Kolkatta. To give some examples of single screens that recorded 100% occupancy for Paa on 2nd Sunday, it was Roxy theater in Mumbai that had Paa sold out for its 2nd sunday. Central Plaza was another single screener in Mumbai Sunday which did 100% business on Paa. In Calcutta, Priya cinema and Navina were sold out. Tickets were selling in black after a long time at the New Empire, another massive single screen cinema hall.

Behaviorally, what is happening with the film is the advance remains modest, until screenings begin and consistently sizeable turnouts are showing up, many repeating. Moreover the box office crowds are consisting of large individual group sizes. While the weekdays are good and steady, the weekends are seeing spectacular turnouts despite less-than-record screenings so far which means the working middle class has taken to the film in a big way.

In figure terms, Paa recorded one of the highest 2nd weekends in recent times, recording around 8 crores. Its weekend 2 occupancies were similar to weekend 1 but collections were somewhat less than weekend 1 because screenings were cut to allocate Rocket Singh and an English release. Still many theaters (ex. Fame Kanivili) managed to record similar collections in weekend 2 compared to weekend 1 despite reduced shows which is highly uncommon. The film is crossing 30 crores net and approaching 40 with weekend 3. And even that may not be end of its run.

In short, as the exhibitor at Sterling cinema in Mumbai puts it after their weekend 2’s last show lasting into 1AM Monday morning recorded 90% of capacity, Paa has emerged a “huge hit” at the Indian box office.

  55. Mehveen Riaz says:

    Hi there,

First of all, I have to say that I have never loved you so much! I saw PAA a few days ago and I literally have no words to describe the emotion I felt while watching that film. From your appearance to your demeanor to your voice, it was just mindblowing. I actually forgot Amitabh Bachchan while watching the film and that is truly a testament to your talent as an actor. My heart filled with joy watching you dance around in the film and my eyes filled with tears watching you suffer at the end. But that compassion wasnt directed toward Amitabh Bachchan it was directed to AURO. The emotion you captured throughout the whole film is indescribable and as a mere student I wont even attempt to capture it in words. I really do not have enough words to do justice to you talent. I want to say that the worth of an actor is not determined by the commercial success of a film but is instead dictated by their dedication to their craft and their ability to affect the lives of others through their work and you have proved time and again how worthy you are! You have touched, inspired, and changed the lives of millions through this and many other performances. I am so proud to call myself your fan and will do so forever!

    Love, love, love you!

Second of all, I just want to say OMG!!! I can’t believe that you responded to me on day 587!! You don’t know how excited, exhilarated, thrilled I was when I saw that yellow line under my comment, especially since it was like comment 93. But unfortunately that one comment won’t be enough for this gluttonous fan! So I am still going to post this group until you click on it and contact me through any medium so I can talk to you personally!!

So here is the link, I hope you’ll take 2 minutes out of your busy day to look at it!

    http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=174943739550&ref=ts

I was also wondering how/why are you so gorgeous? I am asking this in all seriousness because sometimes when I watch your interviews or your films I think to myself that how unfair it is that I will never get to meet a man who is so gorgeous that he puts thousands of men to shame!!

I’m not sure if you YouTube yourself regularly or at all for that matter, but there was snippet of an interview of yours that was posted a few months back. I’m not sure what station the interview was conducted on or who conducted it, all I know is that it was done in July of 1984. As many people know you didnt give many (or any?) interviews in your earlier career b/c of the press ban. I believe it wasnt ’till the late ’80s or ’90s that you started giving interviews, so this interview that was posted was such a treat! While watching the interview I literally fell short of breath!! Although you do many interviews now and while you are extremely attractive now back then you were just mindbogglingly and mindblowingly sexy/gorgeous/handsome!! I was telling my sister that I wished that I could just jump in the TV and land next to you! Also, a lot of people have rare footage of you that they post on YouTube and because many of the interview are from before I was born it’s an incredible experience to watch them now! Its really exciting for me even though they are like 20-25 yrs!

Ok well I hope you look at my group!! http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=174943739550&ref=ts

Waiting anxiously for another response! And please, please get some rest!

    Lots and lots of love,

P.S. I love you and of course you are simply gorgeous! and if you want to search me on facebook, my name is Mehveen Bachchan lol!

Avatar is billed as the new frontier in 3-D entertainment. It;s James Cameron’s first work since Titanic. Judging from some of the earlier reviews the SFX look to be dazzling, the script less lo. But whoever went into 3-D for character and plot development?!

I am glad India won the match but I am a little old-fashioned. Matches in which each side scrores 350 plus let alone 400 plus make me a little ill! But it remains noteworthy for Auro’s appearance for sure!

    Hi Amitji!

Glad to see an early post today! You do need a break! I am still not completely out of the aura of Auro! The thoughts of the film linger on! Vidya’s attitude towards her son’s disease in the film was a very good lesson to learn! The attitude has to be positive despite all adversities trying to bog you down! That is the lesson I as a viewer learnt from Paa!

    Regards and Love!

The Indian Parliament may also need the presence of Auro too just as the cricket field needed. Well, why not plan for a Auro sitting in the Indian August house and who knows he can be a lucky mascot for the state of the things they are in (total disarray) ….a well deserved sitting ….Its a positve development to note that the marketing campaign has been successfully executed and well organised to make the movie a success ……

“MAYA ” the game of time .. it is giving confusion to all human mind and in that case the mind can’t work with his right target. some time we think about our target but we do for other why..? we can’t explen it but we do that..ha.
we can’t brack to time design but our patience & concentration will give a right target to us by time so its a journey only journey after that we are only POPAT or PUPPET like that..ha..

    Dear Amitabh Bachchan,

Thank you for the early post.. I love your starting witty sentence - an old saying with the personal touch ..

And it is surely nice that Auro is lucky for the Indian team or as so they believe. I thinks such thought cheers them up and they are playing with more enthusiasm and it makes them into the winners. So it is not as much of a superstition as it is human psychology. Which is good …
    *
I understand your wish to remain longer with Auro and Paa .. It was a very nice experience to go with you through all the steps by reading your blog - from creating the film to its very special success…
But your new coming projects “Rann” and “Teen Patti” are also of a big interest to the public and I wish you to have a great experience with their release too.

    God bless and take care.

Pleased to note that the end of 2009 was very successful for you and of course for Auro ;) , always hope to see you on the same line, in 2010 and years to come, idem for Abhishek who prouved once more with Paa that “like father like son”, I will modify may be a bit this proverb to say: ilke parents, like son :)

@ Aishwarya TVM thank you to wish me a good return, yes my dear! home sweet home :D
Hi to all those who didn’t forget me in their comment or mails : Pawan, Manoj, Archana, Zeineb, Melwyn, Sudhir, Your truly, Tehreem, Abhaya, Sanjith.
This poem is for all FmXt and first head of the family Mr Bachchan
    .
    ****
I think love stories are like train travels,
And when I see all these travelers sometimes I want to be one of them
Why you think so many people are waiting on the station platform,
Why do you think we freaked so much to be late.
    ——————————————————————————————————-
    ****
Trains often start when we least expect it,
And the love story take you in the eye powerless of witnesses
the witnesses are your friends who say goodbye to you on the platform,
They watch the train moving away with a worried smile,
    ———————————————————————————————————
    ****
You also wave to them and you imagine their comments,
Some think that you make a mistake and you don’t have feet on ground
Everyone goes with his prognosis about the duration of the trip,
For most, train is derailed in the first storm.
    ———————————————————————————————————-
    ****
The big love necessarily change your behavior,
From the first day, you should choose your compartment
Headquarters hallway ornext the window, you must find the right place
You choose what? a love story in first or second class.
    ———————————————————————————————————-
    ****
In the first few miles you have eyes only for her face,
You don’t care about the procession of landscapes behind window,
You feel alive, you feel lighter, you don’t see the time passing,
You feel so well that you almost want to embrace the controller.
    ———————————————————————————————————-
    ****
But the magic does not last long and your history is slumping,
You say, you had nothing to do and it’s her fault,
The rumble of the train make you sick and every curve disgusts you,
You gotta get up to walk you’ll stretch the heart.
    ———————————————————————————————————-
    ****
And the train slows down and is already the end of your story,
In addition you are like a stupid, your buddies stayed at another station,
You say goodbye to the one you call now your ex,
In her diary, your name is removed with some tipex
    ———————————————————————————————————
    ****
It’s true that love stories are like train travels,
And when I see all these travelers sometimes I want to be one of them
Why you think so many people are waiting on the station platform,
Why do you think we freaked so much to be late.
    ———————————————————————————————————
    ****
For many life boils down to trying to board the train,
to know what is love and discover its cheerful part,
For many the goal is to reach in the best moment,
For a successful trip and get the happiness.
    ———————————————————————————————————
    ****
It is easy to take a train but must take the right one,
I got in two three trains but it was the wrong car
Because trains are whimsical and some are inaccessible,
And I don’t think with SNCF it’s all the time possible.
( SNCF : the french company of traffic train)
    ———————————————————————————————————
    ****
There are those for who the trains are still on strike,
And their love stories exist only in their dreams
And there are those who darken in the first set without attention
But inevitably they will descend disappointed to the next station,
    ———————————————————————————————————
    ****
There are those who are afraid to engage because they are too emotional,
For them it’s too risky to hold on to the locomotive
And there are the adventurers who make travel after travel
Once a story is over, theystart another page.
    ———————————————————————————————————
    ****
Me, after my unique true trip, I suffered for months
we left eachother by mutual agreement but she had more agreement than me
Since I roam on the docks I look at departing trains,
There are doors that open in a station but I’m not concerned.
    ———————————————————————————————————-
    ****
It seems that train travel generally ends badly,
If you think so, hang on and keep the moral
One thing is certain, there will always be a terminus
Now you’re warned, the next time you take the bus.
    .
    .
    .
    Love you!

Yes, so true that with one end there is another beginning .. PAA is in the past but the future that PAA has brought is in front of us, bring it on.

Prolonging the joys, the elation and emotions felt by PAA / AURO do remain with us all. It was such a story but it was more the acting.

Shame that PAA ended the way it did however the climax was also inevitable.

Great that it continues to live in ours hearts and shall continue to remain there ..

  99. Shavez Rizvi says:

    Hello Sir,

I met you on 13th December at J W Marriott Hotel in Juhu as a winner of the Idea Contest. I asked you about Shri Harivanshraiji Bachchan yesterday which you answered for quite some time. I would like to tell you that I was pretty nervous of the fact that I actually have you in front of me and that we are talking to each other. I am sure you would remember me as of now. However, I am from Panvel which is roughly 50 - 60 kms from Mumbai. You always come this way and parts of Sholay have also been done here. But you have never graced the city all by yourself.

I want a promise from you being your fan. I know I am a very small person to ask this and I wanted to tell you three more things yesterday.
    1. I want to see your house and your way of life.
    2. My mom born on 17th September 1944 and dad born on 12th April 1944 who are approximately same age as yours and got married approximately the same time as your marriage i.e. on 15th Oct 1971 are called as Amitabh and Jaya ki Jodi because of the fact that they resemble you so much. here was this incident in 1972 that I wanted to tell you a bout when they were strolling at Juhu beach along with a few people in the evening and people thought that it is you and Jayaji. These people really started calling your names and ran after them to find they were not their idols. They are of very old age now and even they wanted to come along with me to meet you but Idea did not permit because of security reasons. Being a good son like you I want to fulfill their wish. Please help me achieve that anyway as I want to be at least a good son like you have been. I would like to request you to come to my marriage next year to give me your blessings and meet them if you are in India and see for yourself whether you resemble them or not. I will personally come to give you the invitation if you promise me that.
    3. I am a very big fan and follower of the ideals of your father. I want you to give me the latest copy of Shri Harivanshrai Bachchanji’s book Madhushala which you revealed on his 102nd birth anniversary with your and Jayaji’s Autograph. I wanted to say this at that time but I could not. By the way I remember the whole poem Need ka Nirman Phir phir that I asked you to recite at the Idea Function and I really wanted to recite it for you.

Please my jeanie fulfil these three wishes of mine. Call me if you can.

I love you a lot. May God bless you and give you a very very long life so that we get to see innovative movies such as Paa which gives a message to everyone. May you become a grandfather soon. It was an honor to ask you the questions and be with you. It will be cherished forever in my life.

It is just recently that I started reading your blog..hard for me to get down to penning a few words to you..not knowing what to write..knowing that there IS a possibility of you reading this..strange feeling to talk to a person who I have known since my childhood and at the same time he has no inkling of who I am/what my life has been like..I still remember the day when we heard that Amitabh Bachchan & Sharughna Sinha are coming for the shooting of Kala Paththar to our coal mines project where my Dad was working at the time..we couldn’t wait for the day..the D DAY arrived and off we went to the guest house donned in our best dresses (a nice little green frock for me!!)..the wait over and there enters Shatrughna Sinhaji..and the first words we hear from him is “Amit and Rishi are very lucky”..didn’t get it then and still can’t figure out what he meant by that..didn’t matter at all..all that mattered was the sense of the loss of once in a lifetime’s (was only 7 then) chance of seeing the only actor, I had any appreciation for, at such close proximity..that sense of loss still prevails..my photograph with Shatrughna Sinhaji still sits framed in my parents’ drawing room in Indore..me biting my fingernail- in the excitement of being in the company of an actor or in the disappointment of not seeing you there- is still a mystery..ha ha..years went by..my appreciation for you as an actor grew as I grew older..my passwords for some time became ‘amitabh’ ..he he..then the phase came when there came some disappointments-of seeing you getting older and not looking the dashing YOU on screen - years went by and then came the new YOU..and the pleasure of watching you in such good roles returned..and then the blogs..which reflect the inside of you..a good human being (which I always hoped you to be..but had no means of knowing)..good for me..
had always been and will be again..a silent admirer..

If people didn’t know, who actually played this role, then I think it would have been impossible to figure out that Sir Amitabh Bachchan has delivered this character….. AURO…

I think it would have been much difficult for you to experiment with your vocal chords…. amazing…Great inning

Once I have read one of the greatest poem…. I think you should have a look on it…

I think this will be one of the great recognitions to this poet, An Indian who taught Englishman the ENGLISH….

Aapki films ab itihaas ke Swarn Akshar hai … Likhte jayeeye, ye humare aur aane vaali peedhee ke liye ek adbhuut sangrah hai…

Have a great day ahead… Take care, you are precious.

India’s one day match against Sri Lanka was a close affair. It could have gone either way till the last ball.It was a thriller and an absorbing encounter.

There were some great batting displays . The wicket favoured the batsman.
Tendulkar’s catch in last over was a turning point of the match. A straight solid hit by the batsman was plucked by sachin with his safe hands.

All in all it was a great entertainment!!!

Yes, I would love to hear Valorie’s take when she gets home from work today!I

I agree with you that “My Name is Anthony Gonsalves” is deliciously flirtatious. AND seductively sexy!

However, maybe it’s just semantics here, but I see it as sexy in an elegantly humorous way rather than in a torrid way. To me “torrid” is a different flavor of sexy. I see “torrid” as a ‘wet-shirt word’, I guess…”torrid” can be funny too, but more of a belly laugh, if you know what I mean?

But I absolutely adored your description of that song and dance, and yes, now that you’ve mentioned it, I’ve gotta go back and watch it again (just to corroborate what you said, of course!! heh heh)

    Love your input! Thanks!

I am of your age, so can say to you Hi!, I hope. Both me and my wife are big fan of you. Paa is great. What I admire most about you is your continuous capacity to keep all three four generations of people spellbound. A very rare achievement indeed. Now you change even time upside down.

I am writing again -hoping to receive some time answer from you.

Just to change the topic, I saw yesterday Rocket Singh… I liked the movie. I see it as symbolizing a new generation taking over India. Last one symbolized in many of your movies of seventies by you, as angry young man angry at corruption etc. and wants to change the whole world in India.
New generation symbol gets angry. But resigns and starts to build up his own team, organisation to give good corrupt free service. I wrote some of this in an article

wish you could read some time. Eager to know what you feel about this change.

    My beloved Mr. Bachchan,‎

These are real good news for your FmXt to know that after the packed and tiring ‎schedules of the last days you have finally got a kind of a free day and a more relaxed ‎schedule. It is true that usually when time seems to be at our disposal it is difficult to use ‎it wisely. But I think the best thing is to enjoy the luxury of having a free day, to chill and ‎relax, maybe enjoy sometime basking in the sun and to give your body and mind the ‎chance to recharge its energies and revitalize itself. ‎

many congratulations on the victory of your country. AURO’s lucky influence on the ‎team are indeed great and it is amazing and awesome that his impact has reached ‎everywhere and he is being acknowledged by parliamentary individuals as well. the cutie ‎boy has without doubt won the hearts of all.‎

Having to move on to RANN and Teen Patti might deprive you from spending longer and ‎more sufficient time with sweet AURO, but I wish you all best of luck with both your ‎upcoming ventures and I hope the joyous and ecstatic feelings initiated by PAA will be ‎extended by their huge and massive success. ‎

Enjoy your time with the preview of Avataar, and I will be waiting for more from you..‎

Do something for poor orphan kids…when u still have money in hand…everything else is fake…I dont have much money , but I make sure part of it goes to donation instead of costly attires and luxury cars…with due respect I like ur films but i really wont have respect for you unless I see celebrity like you doing something in favor of society….I really love shabana azmi for the humanity she showed to slum - people….i hope my comment gets published if only u honor constructive criticism…

    Phyllis (PB) in Texas 113

Wow, I have to defer to you in terms of strict semantics… most reluctantly agreeing that Anthony Gonsalves is not technically torrid in its popular useage.. i.e. the “lust in the dust’ sense… or indeed the ‘”machismo in the monsoon” genre… where barely concealed passion twixt man and woman is the overwhelming motif..

BUT far more happily, it seems we swoon in unison at a man who unconsciously uses comedy as a glittering camouflage for deadly seductive charms … there is NOTHING more endearing or disarming than a man who appears to be goofing around and doing EVERYTHING but take himself too seriously, while simultaneously displaying such prodigious charm and outrageous talent that our feminine laughter hides our mounting palpitations at JUST HOW GORGEOUS he damm well is.

Well that’s my theory for tonight anyway! It’s certainly a subject which repays in-depth study :)

And somehow I feel we have the edge on even the learned Satyam which it comes to this particular field on Bachchan appreciation!

i saw sarkar raj–u and ash abhi–such a big boring movie

rate u at 6/10, abhi at 5/10 ash at 2/10

    hope PAA is good

Making you emotional and leaving you moist-eyed, Paa had a good first week, earning around Rs 16.50 crore nett. The film did very well this weekend while midweek collections were steady but not low. As proposed by trade analysts, the film can probably do Rs 25-30 crore nett lifetime business, the only condition is that its second week should be good.

  159. Tilak Rishi says:

    Dear Amitji,

We are, of course, also looking forward to Rann and Teen Patti, but nothing in the world can attract our attention from Auro. There is no day when Google does not come up with a good news alert on Paa. Here is the latest one:

    ‘PAA’ BRINGS ABCL BACK

    By Eye TV India Bureau

    In the News

Amitabh Bachchan’s production house, ABCL, is back following the roaring success of ‘Paa’. The production company, formed in 1996, ran out of luck after it hosted the Miss World pageant and a string of unsuccessful movies like ‘Aks’, ‘Major Saab’, ‘Mrityudaata’ and ‘Tere Mere Sapne’ . Paa, made with a mere budget of Rs 150 million has recovered its money in the first three days itself of its release. According to industry estimates, the film has made a net profit of Rs 150 million from the domestic box-office alone. ‘Paa’ is a co-production between Big B’s ABCL and Anil Ambani’s BIG Pictures. The film would have earned much higher but the opening of the film was lukewarm because of the sensitive subject dealing with a rare genetic defect that causes accelerated ageing.

However, the movie picked up next day. And, Bachchan senior and the junior Bachchan’s performances have created a buzz. Multiplex owners believe the movie will hold on for a few more weeks. Interestingly, smaller towns, too, have responded well to ‘Paa’. The credit of success goes to Amitabh Bachchan’s patience in putting on the make-up that took four hours, and Abhishek Bachchan’s in playing dad to Big B.

    With regards

    Tilak Rishi (USA)

PS: Kindly ask your moderator to be more careful. The “F…” word used by 150 is simply intolerable.

This is for Rajiv Shivane comment # 150. It is surprising that you are worried about the bigger problems in the world that needs to be resolved and yet you are wasting time oisting your comments here rather than doing your bit to resolve them. You are an idiot for posting your vulgar and inappropriate comment on a blog which belongs to a personality from the entertainment industry. Why do feel that it is AB’s responsibility to resolve such problems? Is he an elected public official? He may have enacted a role that seemed to be one of a 13 year old retarded kid, but by using abusive language you have shown that you are definitely a retarded person.

I would say more but do not want to waste more of my time with a dumb ass like you. What a stupid moron!!

    Dear Amitabhji,
PAA IS SUPER HIT.. THIS HAS ALREADY HAPPENED.
    PAA————–GOING FROM STRENGTH TO STRENGTH.
    FAMXT———-WANT TO MEET YOU.
    FAMXT———-WANT TO MEET AURO.
you had floated one idea ,sometimes back, to have a congregation of famxt. This was a very solid noval idea to have a meet with your followers ,famxt, extended family members . you had some doubts as to how this meet could be feasible and perhaps due to this reason the matter was not persued further.Famxt , however, had shown great interest in this proposed conference as everybody was eager to meet you one to one.i am desparately eager to meet you and so are hundreds of other extended family members.SO many have made efforts to meet you in the recent past but have failed to achieve success.A couple of them even specially ventured to visit your home in mumbai but could not meet you for one reason or the other.
sir, your love and affection for the famxt is admirable and i shall be glad if you please give this matter your second thought so that AAPKE CHAHNE WALE AAPKE RU-BRU HO SAKE.AAP SE DO-CHAR PYAR BHARI BAATE KAR SAKE—-AAPKE SAATH KUCH LAMHE BITA SAKE.MERA DIL KAHTA HA AAP BHI FMXT KO MILNE KO KUCH KUCH TO AATUR HONGE . ???
This sort of meeting is feasible AND NONE TOO DIFFICULT TO MANAGE .
i am sure you are also eager to meet the famxt.

    AM I RIGHT SIR ? ? ?

    Aishwarya TVM at #123,

I am sorry. Too much jargon packed in one. Let me simplify the parallels.

AB is the star. The film industry is the galaxy. The faster they move the farther they are from the eye. The vision is blurred because of the illusions caused by the glamour. It is Astigmatic because it is 3 Dimensional.

The question is, does the celestial world depend on the astronomer to exist. The answer is no it doesn’t.

If the question is applied to performing arts, does the cinematic galaxy depend on the viewership? The answer here is obviously yes. Thats where it becomes a business deal.

Which leads to the question, what is at stake for the viewer?

I won’t give an opinion on that. I can only speak for myself.

    Love

    Sudhir

  190. Saroj says:

Abhishek Bachchan: Bachchan Junior faced a real humiliation at Cannes Film Festival, with the international press running only after his wife and L’Oreal ambassador Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

  196. Veena says:

    Dear AB,

It isn’t only politicians or masses or your family and friends - it looks like AURO is in love with AURO and AURO will miss AURO in the crowd! That’s called a true friendship!

I believe that we give more importance to a beginning or an end than the journey itself. Memories of a journey might become vivid with time, but we never forget the start and THE END. When we think or talk of a person, we always remember how we met and the last thing that they said to us. The rest becomes a tale. It’s strange but only these impressions actually shape up the identity of a person for us!

Some projects are always pet than others. There are people I would work with or for any time of the day - no questions asked. There are people and projects I miss working with. It’s not always the bond or a comfort level but we remember the “results” and we remember how we started to achieve them. It’s why important we make a beautiful start and a wonderful end - the journey might well be full of lows and highs.

Unless we move on to something different and better and important, we would become stagnant. I personally do get bored in a monotonous environment. “Bored” is a very mild word - it actually drives me insane! Speed is good and so is flow.

Hope you rested well. Have a great rest of the day!

    love
    Veena

    Hi Mr Bachchan

Hope my mail finds you in the best of your health and spirits.

I love to hear that you have the to relax coz sometimes I really feel sorry for you when you can’t have even required hrs of sleep but then I think we are to blame for this. You do so much for your FmXt.
I love you for this.Auro you are the best and shall remain forever and no other character shall take your place till eternity.
I am so happy to know that Jaya ji was complimented in RS even by contemparies so our darling AURO brought everybody together.
I saw you and Abhishek on the cover of Hi Blitz and me and my sister anu have gone crazy since then. You both look amazingly good.
    take care
    Love & warm regards
    Priyanka.

  198. Valorie Adams says:

My Dear Mr. Bachchan, Sir…Please allow me to respond to three of my precious blogmates…and you are most certainly
invited to read along…heh…heh…heh…if you dare…

    Dearest Phyllis, Daisy and Devkishin…
In response to the question regarding which of those three dance numbers I liked the best…
    1) ‘Aaj Rapat’…I’ll never see rain again without seeing this…
    2) ‘Anthony Gonsalves’…precious and priceless…
    3) ‘Jumma Chumma De De’…ohhhhh…heaven help me…
My response is as follows: I don’t care if He’s soakin’ wet or bone dry…in a tuxedo or in a wonderfully buttonless shirt open down to THERE…I don’t care if He’s 30 or 40 or 50 or 60 or 70 or 80 years old…I don’t care if He’s ’sweetly’ tempting me or if He is ‘torridly’ trying to tear my heart out…all that I require is the presence of my one and only…our very own…’Greek (Indian) God’ of a man…Amitabh Bachchan… and this wonderful ‘God’ of a man is so much better than those other ‘Greek Gods’…This one is in living color…He breathes…He speaks…He sings…He moves… :D …and…He dances…As I wrote in my poem:
‘With Him as the lead on any movie screen
I’d pay millions and stand in line all day…’
So…in answer to your question about which dance number
I liked the best??? Well…they are all delicious and wonderful for different reasons…and I couldn’t possibly choose between them.

Got any more videos for me??? Nah…I’m sure there aren’t any more good ones out there…oh boy…THIS should be fun!

  204. Kashmira Grewal says:

    My dearest Mr. Bachchan,

It is so wonderful to see you sound so carefree and relaxed after a long time! Bless you! If only this trend would continue for a while longer and give you the much needed time to recover from the excitement of the past couple of weeks!

There has been a request, that I convey to you, that one of your most ardent fans, and a very consistent Member of our EF, Anu, who was operated upon, in London the day before, has come out of surgery just fine. The operation was successful and she is now recuperating well. May she be among us very very soon! Mr. Bachchan, I have never seen anyone so happy, as she was, when you wished her well and it gives me a great sense of satisfaction to know that this lady went in for her rather major surgery, in a happy frame of mind! Bless you for being so caring!

Take care of yourself. Am connecting with you today from your own city - Mumbai! Shall write at length once I return to Pune.

    Till then,
    With much love as always,
    Kashmira

    May I address our EF here…..thank you…..

For all you wonderful Family….just a piece of very happy and wonderful news…..I have had a communication from Anu’s (of London)daughter, and she has requested me to inform you all, and specially Mr. Bachchan, that her surgery has gone off very well, and now we pray that she recovers and recoups quickly and is back with us once again, very quickly. Anu, our prayers for your swift recovery and healing, continues! Take care! Before closing, I must apologise for a rather lopsided message this morning….but I am wielding a rather queer machine today…..so I hope you will bear with me!

    With much love and blessings,
    ever,
    Kashmira

  205. Rohit Somani says:

    dear amitji,
it was indeed a superb performance..
    congratulations for that..
mr. abhisheks performance as usual was very good..
i liked the total idea of a young man going into politics, to change the face of it, to change people’s perception…
it is truly the need of the hour..
some of the one-liners too were just too good…
they really make one think..n keep thinking..

  206. Shubhra says:

Dear Amitji, we just saw Paa and I have no words to describe how we feel. This movie surpasses all standards, its soo touching, me and my husband cried and smiled and felt so powerful at the end. We lost our first born to SIDS in August this year and are trying to recover. We know how sad it is to lose a child and what a blessing it is to have one. You are so lucky to have Abhishek and Shweta and I am sure you are very proud of Abhishek’s performance.
You both and the entire Paa team deserves so much praise for such great work . Thankyou for your valuable contribution, the movie lifted our spirits and made us smile.

I came to your blog from a link on Paa’s official website. I am not sure if you get the time to read so many comments but i just wanted to share my feelings. It is probably very unrealistic to expect a reply but I am happy I came to your blog.
    Thanks so much.
    Warm regards,

    Hi Mr. Bachchan

    Wow !Loved it !
Early to bed & early to rise makes a person healthy, wealthy & Auro-wise !!

India’s victory at Rajkot was truly fantastic. Couldn’t see the match but kept on following it on net.

Looking forward to your view on Avatar…while on my way to work, I bought the latest issue of Hi Blitz magazine with u & Abhishek .Eager to read it but shall have to wait till I get back home.

Its remarkable to know that Parliamentarians couldn’t resist themselves being charmed by Auro & have wholeheartedly appreciated the film. That’s a big achievement !

When Auro is around, there are no boundaries, only sixers !!
Nice no ! Ho ha !!

    Take care
    Love & regards

p.s. Good to know through kashmira (comment #206) that surgery of Anu(london) has gone off v well. Hope she recovers soon :-)

I see my comment disappeared. I have just watched ‘Gone with the Wind’ on TCM on its 70th anniversary at the exact day and time it first aired. I had commented during the intermission. They also aired the overture and exit music. This was only the second time I have seen it. Now I will watch the documentary about the making of ‘Gone with the Wind’.

I find myself thinking about Auro , I have seen the film twice and this weekend I plan to watch it again.

I just can’t get over how on this earth you played this role, your body language, your speech, everything was so perfect that first time in life I didn’t miss Amitabh Bachchan .

I have always felt that I have been so unfair to all your co-artists, till date I have no clue what kind of expression Mr. Vinod Khanna had on his face when he was exchanging dialogues with you in Amar Akbar Anthony because I was never looking at him, my eyes were on Anthony. I have no clue how Mr. Shashi Kapoor look like in Deewar when you two were in the same frame because I never look at the other person when you are there. And now, how much I admired Vidya Balan in Paa but in the same frame, I could not take my eyes off from Auro. Some things never change.

I would appreciate if one day you could write about your reaction when Balki approached you very first time, how did you react when you heard first time that you are being asked to play 13 year old ? I am sure you would have thought that makeup would take care of appearance but what about speech and body language.

Honestly we all Auro fan , we all 67 year old Auro’s fan and 13 year old Amit jee’s fan would love to hear this from you. Please share with us.

Just what was it about Nithari, which could invite the comment from anyone that the law and order situation in U.P. was wonderful under the government of Mulayam Singh Yadav? I really could not say, but as you are the person who said as much around January 2007 you will be the best person to explain the statement. You have stated that you did it for money as you were being paid, but media reports say that no payments were made by the Samajwadi Party to you to make that ad for them.

I hope it wasnt your wife Jaya Bhadhuri who asked you to say that ? I ask because she has stated on Koffee With Karan (she appeared with her daughter Shweta Srivastv Nanda ) that Mulayam Singh Yadav is her favorite politician.

  229. Dharmesh Sheth says:

    Dear Emperor,

Saw Silsila yesterday at the DIFF screening here in Dubai.

What an awesome film…perhaps a bit ahead of its times. My favourite scene in the film is your confrontation with Kulbhushan Kharbanda where your seething anger shines through in a film that is supposed to be romantic. Your attire in the film is sensational all through.

It was immediately after watching this film in Bombay in 1981, that I left the Indian shores to make a living so Silsila has indeed a special place for me. It was therfore great to catch it on the big screen although I was disappointed to see that the film was in 35mm & audio was mono & not stero/surround.

With best wishes for your forthcoming films

  230. Ramanathan says:

    Dear Amitji,

Touching statements of affection for the EF thank you Sirji!

You are right, the Aura of auro should not cloud the effort required for Rann and Teen patti. looking forward to its promos.

India rocks. 800 + runs in a day is phenomenal. Sehwag’s comeback is truly a delight for the viewer. Like Jayasuriya changed the mindset by regularly scoring 100 in the first 15 overs in ODI which later baecame a standard, Sehwag is in the process of changing the average scores perday in a test or in an ODI.

End Line - Joke on the SMS
Amitabh Bachcchan if he meets Shashi Kapoor will now say “To kya hua agar tumhare paas Maa hai? Mere paas PAA hai”

    Yours as always

Sudhir - You are the Stephen Hawking of this blogosphere. Great comparison
Sharmila - That was a typo error, sorry. Phir bhi I should say “Haajir Hoon” for the return summons.
Vijaya - I will definitely be naraaz if you dont invite me for those delicious brunches you host so often.

    Dear Amitji,

The style , discipline, witty lines, making others comfortable, to the point, doing what is right, has definately been the hall mark of AURO and people of India and World over relate this Auro’s way more like The Amitabh that they know and hence take pride in acknowledging and admiring the film PAA.

Auro leaves a message in a humorous and dignified way, without hurting anyone, this is the beauty of the movie. Simple words, few words but the timing and meaning lifts Auro to great heights.

So, Auro- Rashtrapati Bhavan, when? to get Padma Shri!

We are dependent on him. He is not an interruption in our work. He is the purpose of it. He is not an outsider in our business. He is part of it. We are not doing him a favor by serving him. He is doing us a favor by giving us an opportunity to do so.”

Hope to see you experimenting like this more Sir.and surprising us each time!
My son is visiting from hostel and we plan to see’Avtaar.I wonder why they have named the film’Avtaar’It’s certainly a hindi word.

    • Bombay has no bombs and is a harbour not a bay.

    • Churchgate has neither a church nor a gate. It is a railway station.

    • There is no darkness in Andheri.

    • Lalbaag is neither red nor a garden.

    • No kings ever stayed at Kings Circle.

    • Nor did Queen Victoria stay at Victoria Terminus.

    • Nor is there any princess at Princess Street.

    • Lower Parel is at the same level as Parel.

    • There are no marines or sailors at Marine Lines.

    • The Mahalaxmi temple is at Haji Ali.

    • There are no pigs traded at Dukar bazaar.

    • Teen bati is a junction of 3 roads, not three lamps.

    • Trams used to terminate at Kings Circle not Dadar* Tram Terminus (Dadar T.T.).

    • Breach Candy is not a sweetmeat market, but there is a Hospital.

    • Safed Pool has the dirtiest and blackest water.

    • You cannot buy coal at Kolsa street.

    • There are no Iron smiths at Lohar chawl.

    • There are no pot makers at Kumbhar Wada.

    AMCHI MUMBAI

A City where everything is possible, especially the impossible!

Where telephone bills make a person ill, Where a person cannot sleep without a pill.

Where carbon-dioxide is more than oxygen, Where the road is considered to be a dustbin,

Where college canteens are full and classes empty, Where Adam teasing is also making an entry,

Where a cycle reaches faster than a car, Where everyone thinks himself to be a star,

Where sky scrapers overlook the slum, Where houses collapse as the monsoon comes,

Where people first act and then think, Where there is more water in the pen than ink,

Where the roads see-saw in monsoon, Where the beggars become rich soon,

Where the roads are levelled when the minister arrives,

Where college admission means hard cash, Where cement is frequently mixed with ash.

This is Mumbai my dear, But don’t fear, just cheer, come to Mumbai every year!

    Hullo Genius,
I hope you saw the 3 D film with the appropriate eyegear.
If the film is to be commercially released in India, they will have to ensure handing over eyegear at the beginning of the show and collecting the same at the end of the show. I wonder if that can be ensured ?
So on to Rann and Teen Patti. I hope the video of Paa will be commercially released soon. Ah ! I have to pick up my copy of the latest Madhushala too. Will do so in time… since I am still not able to sprint or drive the car myself. Officially that gets taken care of , but weekends, I feel kind of not independant. But even this will pass away…..

  259. Samir Siyal says:

    Dear Sir,

First of all my heartiest congratulation for brilliant performance in Paa.

Just need your bless / guidance for the below comments. I hope you will devote very little time for this comment.

My views on the film is mentioned below.

The film is excellent no doubt about that only 1 thing hurt me is the name of Film should not be the Paa bcoz, If we understand the different life stages characters played by Amol Arte right from his college days to becoming a father we understand how to build reputation , personality and responsibility. It teach us that how to react with the situation you came across in a life.

I found Mr. Balki is focusing and finding more on relation which we normally face during our conversation with person on a daily basis. The film does not only concentrate on father - child relation but also focus on Mother - child relation . How open this relation is. When Auro spoke on Science project to his mom (Vidya) at that time Auro replys ” Mara bachha paida nahi ho raha How you can help ! We should develop and maintain this type of relation in our home. It really touch the heart……… And mother also open her entire dictionary in front of 13 year boy which hardly seen in India.

Entire movie is focusing on Amol Arte’s behavior, when he was in college he handle the situation exactly as every collegian handle. Once he started political carrier he behavior is exactly similar to future leader of india. Even in his mistake he publicly accept and make us understand how to become a responsible. Truly salute to Mr. Balki for showing us true picture of Indian in Amol Arte’s character.

BUT, fortunately your amazing acting change the entire dilemma of movie and because of that Amol’s character has been under observed. The film which got maximum response is only because of master stroke from you. Slightly more focus on Auro changes the entire movie’s plan of action.

Plz correct me if my observation are not up to the mark.

    Samir Siyal

It appears Amitabh’s attire and funny antics have caught the fancy of learned Professor Daisy and we greatly appreciate her choice.” my name is anthony gonsalves——” presents Amitabhji in different shade.Whether this number reflects Amitabh’s flirtatious mood depends on one’s interpretation.

Likewise” juma chuma dede——”is also a group number with some shades of flirting with the fully drenched co-star.

In my opinion ”aaj rapat —-” is full of intimate and daring flirting between lovers in private –.One is simply carried away by this sensuous and amorous number.
But then everyone has different way of perceiving things.

All the three songs are exceptionally romantic but ”aaj rapat—” almost sends shock waves through your entire frame.

I have a lot of respect for you but I find it hard to believe that you decided to do a show like Bigg Boss where the winner is already fixed. They are already showing a lot of bias. Allowing Vindu to give a hand grenade even though he was not technically out of the show and giving Claudia a chance to put Pravesh to finals. Also, playing psychological games with Bakhtiyaar and Aditi. Whenver audience asks tough questions to Vindu (dirtiest person in BB3 house, btw), you tone down the question before posing it to Vindu. Also, it seems Vindu has a lot of support from Bollywood given his connections with you and Akshay Kumar. I ready somewhere that Endemol is a front for the underworld and they are only trying to make money by making us send SMSes even though everything is pre-planned

And now for something completely different:

Okay, Valorie 200, I know a dare when I read one, so here is my next exhibit for you, “Jawani Ki Rail Kahin” from Coolie:

Here’s flirting with no wet shirts, no open shirts, but you’ll never miss ‘em…the action is all about hitting below the belt this time. The way Mr. Coolie thrusts that pelvis, swings those hips? – forget Elvis ever existed! Red hot pistons, honey! When he does that short but sweet li’l horizontal dance it gives a whole new meaning to ‘The Little Engine That Could.’

Never was sexy so hilarious! The man’s a comic genius…he’ll hit on your libido and your laughter button simultaneously. And last but not least I can’t forget to mention that little game of crack the whip at the end, it’s the tip-top ultimate cherry on the frosting on the cake.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXJAQpIIzxM

Whew! Now that you’ve come up for air, all I can say is I told you so! Never have I seen such droll, whimsical yet superlatively sensuous locomotion! I can’t help myself, in homage I have to segue into:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_NckF4yU120 (just close your eyes and think of Bachchan…(ji))

And of course, Little Eva, the original:

Yesterday was my lucky day. DIFF had organised the premiere of SILSILA on the big screen. I was lucky enough to put my hands on the tickets. I was too thrilled and excited as I am 32 I didn’t had the chance to watch your 70s and 80s movies in theater. This was the fist such experience I will never forget. When the film started I was too occupied with it. How the 3 hours passed I could not realised , i went back in the 80s till the end of the movie and I realised that its 2010 now.
    What a performance there.
    loads of love

  288. Rajib says:

    To PHYLLIS @ 287…DAISY @ 276/293…DEVKISHIN @ 271…
Getting ready to leave for work here…it is just before 7AM…just watched ‘Jawani Ki Rail Kahin’…sufficiently ’steamed’ and for that I THANK YOU!
Yes, I have watched ‘Kabhi’…own it…LOVE the fact that my Muse recites poetry to me all throughout that film…
Didn’t want to have to choose only one video…but in all honesty, Devkishinji, the ‘Aaj Rapat’ one most definately
sent ’shock waves thru my entire frame’ as you so sweetly
put it…therefore, must say ‘Aaj Rapat’ is my favorite one…so far…Devishkinji, you have your finger on my pulse as far as what this woman would like in a sweetly romantic song and dance number from Mr. Bachchan…..ahhh well…what a lovely way to start my day…thank you all…I shall return this evening…TTFN…
(whispering now…thank you, Mr. Bachchan for all the creative, charming, sweet and not-so-sweet :D song and dance numbers you’ve created for us…love you more than the law should allow…)

  332. Dr. Hemant Antani says:

    Dear Amitji

I saw PAA… I was speechless at the end. I do not find adequate words to express my admiration.. Admiration is too small for what I felt. You have raised bar further for yourself. After I saw BLACK, I thought what more would you do to go beyond. PAA proved that you can take us into an ecstatic world through your sheer poetry of expressions, acting and involvement. You unarguably the greatest actor Indian film industry has ever produced.
I might be going overboard but can I suggest something? Your performance can not be credited by any AWARD in the world. They are too small against your mind boggling act. You should refuse to accept any award for this act as I strongly believe that you are now much beyond this.
I pray to God to continue to bless you with such an amazing energy so that we continue to bask in the glorious act of yours. After all Amitabh Bacchan is born only once..

Aishwarya TVM, Anand, Pettssy, Vijaya & Ramanathan,

    Thank you.

Was just able to log on after being off the air all day. There is this tall transmission tower near my house which was hiding like a shy bride behind a low static cloud since morning. Every time my laptop sent its digital code for tieing up, the signals were lost in the cloud that hovered like a father in law near the telephone. Now finally the two hearts have met and the connection is restored.

Pettssy: Welcome back. Missed your french poetry for some time. The romance on the rails was good. There are different versions of the same across the world depending on the speed of the motion. In Munich it would be a tram, in Russia it might be on an ice-rink, in the Middle East it is on slow camels, in the US its on the internet and in India it is on the father-in-law’s scooty. In the UK I believe it happens in a marriage court as an evidence for the registrar…

Aishwarya TVM: Ab jyaada briliant villiant nahin kehne ka, kya? Aakhir yeh dubai vaale kaun chakki ka aata khaate hain? Itni taarif karte hain ke sasura patthar bhi pighal jaaye!

Vijaya: Here is a list of green remedies I need with food instead of pills and tabs…

    1. Arthritis (Rheumatoid) - Ashwagandha - root powder of withania somnifera; Nirhundi and garlic bulb cloves
    2. Sprains and strains - Garlic; Arnica; Thyme; Sambhal
    3. Tension Headache - Ashwagandha root; Eucalyptus Oil; Sunthi
    4. Migraine - Betel Leave’; Ajwoin seeds; Rasna seeds
    5. Neuralgia - Eranda (Castor); Ginger
    6. Anxiety/Tension - Jatama-masi roots; Shanka Pushpi root powder; Sarpa gandha root powder
    7. Depression - Tulsi; Brahmi; Ashwagandha

Yeh hui na baat. Ab batao recipe!

Ramanathan, Anand: Thank you. I enjoy every moment on the blog!

    Love

(din.mly@gmail.com)

    My dearest Amithji,

How are you & where are you?

I thought one early post last night will be followed by another early post today! But no such luck!

So, Amithji, how are you celebrating PAA’s success.:) :) :) Please tell us.:)
Do not worry too much about RANN & TEEN PATTI. It will definitely work out well. Now it is time to reap the rewards of your hardwork without worrying about future. But, being the kind of man you are, you will never relax. you have attained the freedom to live the relaxed lifestyle of your choice , with a sense of satisfaction at what you have accomplished. So just lay back, & continue to savour the success of PAA. You have definitely earned it!!!
We as happy as you are, about the success of PAA.
So give us a chance to celebrate, by spreading some sunshine amongst the FmXt, meaning , yellow strips!!!!!!:) :) :) :)

It’s ages since any of us received reply from you.

    Did you enjoy AVATAR?

In BB house, vindu & poonam are demeaning Bhaktiyaar soooo much, this must be their tactic to make the audience see them in a positive way. But I think it is not working out. As for me, whatever happens, Vindu should not win! If Vindu goes out this friday, I have promised my daughter that I’ll take her out for dinner.;) ;)

My gut feeling says that Aditi will win this game. Hmmmmm…..lets wait & see.

    Bye for now,
    my love to you always,

As I live outside India, i have still not got the opportunity to see this great movie of yours. But I can feel the content.

I was too just like Aam Aadmi years back till my younger daughter was born with a genetic disorder. Then i got the chance to see the other side of the world. There are parents who work day and night to give their disabled kids a quality help and try to make them more and more independent. Their are parents who every year their kids birthday but never wish them a long life. And in their every day prayer they ask God not to call them before their child as after them their would be no one to look after their child.

I am thankful to God who gave me this opportunity to know about the lives i was totally unaware of before.

I am too small to appreciate u or to congratulate u in any form. From ur film “Paa” only i came to know abt this disease..I dnt know what to say to u but was reading sum article so, want to send it to u….Plzzzzzzz just look upon it.

“Brothers Ikramul Khan, 22, and Ali Hussain, 11, who hail from a village in Bihar, have expressed a desire to meet Amitabh Bachchan [ Images ]. The brothers are suffering from Progeria — a rare genetic condition where patients age rapidly — which is the subject of Bachchan’s new film, Paa.

“We want to thank him for creating awareness about Progeria. We hope someone can arrange our meeting with him because it is beyond our reach to contact him,” the brothers said from their ancestral home in Dumri village in the Saran district of Bihar.

Bachchan is one of their favourite heroes along with Aamir Khan [ Images ], Salman Khan [ Images ] and Hrithik Roshan [ Images ].

“Hum Amitabh Bachchan se bhent karma chahte hain lekin pata nahin chalta hain ki kaise miley. Khuda ya koi insaan hamari madad karein to hum Amitabh se mil saktein hain (we want to meet Amitabh Bachchan but we don’t know how to. If God or a person can help, we can meet Amitabh),” they said in chaste Hindi.

Even their mother, Razia Khatoon, has appealed to help her sons fulfill their dream as her sons’ days are numbered. Doctors say the two brothers have no chance of living beyond their early 20s.

Her other three children, who were suffering from the same condition, did not survive. She claims her family is cursed as five of her eight children were struck by the disease.

Big B ji, I’ve just found your blog after listening to your interviews with Raj & Pablo on Asian Network (BBC) a few days ago. I also saw the Paa trailer on Youtube. Of course I’ve followed all your movies since Sholay but I’m seriously enthralled by the comments you made on radio about how you managed to extract Amitabh from Amitabh. This is what differentiates an actor from a great actor and you sir surely command all our respect for that. I hope that the movie can be seen Japan sometime soon or else I’ll have to wait until it releases in London. Of course it has to be said that Abishek has definitely got your touch and thanks to Jayaji the ‘genius’ transferred the genes completely. Dehli 6 and Dostana are but two examples and I’m sure the best is yet to come.

i work as a psychotherapist, you said so rightly physical cleaning is mental-emotional-spiritual cleansing. when my mom has a fight, the next thing she would do is clean the kitchen area and her wardrobe.
Auro’s been a darling, you could let Auro blog one day before he is forced to go forever.

    Amit uncle,

i watched Paa today.Am from chennai and am proud of flimmaker we produce here!!!!!hats off to BALKI.people make film on various issues to gain profit and publicity. But your film never touched the sensitive issue of the diseases and jus showed the feelings of the boy. This concept striked me immensely.

Am very happy that “AB corp” is heading towards the path of glory.

    take care

eagerly awaiting promos of both the films , sir. you rightly said that all good things should come to an end. will try to come to terms & come out of an aura of auro that sounds very very difficult now. have seen the movie thrice by now.
and please allow me to take this opportunity to write that abhishek has also acted fantastic in his role as your Paa.

    Dear Amitji !!!

Greetings from a cold and snowy UK.

Firstly I would like to congratulate you for such a marvelous acting as “Auro” & I am extremely happy to read the positive reviews and comments from the critics and audience worldwide. I enjoyed the movie and eagerly awaiting the release of Teen patti and Rann.

I was a bit dissapointed to read the poor box office collections of “Paa” in UK and US. I just wonder why such a good film received poor response outside India especially in UK and US where there are many hindi film viewers. Is it due to poor promotions outside India or due to poor planning ????

Boss, u are the one who actually make the indian cinema to be known in Hollywood.
Rest of ur collegues also requires that publicity coz they r also very fantastic wid there performances. Yes, they do not have the destiny and luck as u have.
But you shld also support them, For an example - Dharmendra ji, Manoj Kumar, Shashi Kapoor, Shammi ji, Rajesh Khanna, Jitendra and many more. Yes we do know that you love all of them however, we want a combination of Mr. Bachan and any of above mentioned as such, super hits to be counted in the coming years.
Hope u understand our feelings, we do luv u but we miss the legends still on the cinema side. plzzzzzz, take care of it we require ur help.
