Prateeksha, Mumbai November 21/22, 2009 Sat/Sun 12 : 51 AM
12 Days to PAA releasing December 4th 2009
As 26/11 looms ahead media prepares to commemorate those horrid moments with programmes aimed at rebuilding episodes in memory of the unfortunate that lost their lives and the brave that fought for the lives of others. The grave and chilling visuals haunt us even today and we watch and relive those anxious hours of survival and battle as a vulnerable city geares itself up to the shock of terror.
Texts of hope and reconciliation, of moral strength and honor get written up by men of letters and men of poetry. And those with a voice lend theirs to highlight the tragic hours for the city of Mumbai. India TV does a documentary of the event and I record a most apt poem from my Father’s works that talks of building our nest again with fortitude and pride. Arnab Goswami from Times Now wishes that I join a panel as does Rajdeep Sardesai from CNN/IBN that will discuss the effect and after effect of this day and date. I am not qualified for this and regret, but not before I record another blank verse plea written by the great lyricist and add., guru Prasoon Joshi. They are strong and inspirational. I feel it from the heart as my rendition resounds in the hollows of a recording studio. But will it resound in the corridors of the electronic media with equal resonance ?? And thereby eventually to the rest of the country and the world ! Who knows.
The preparations for the Premier now reach a frenzied pace. Lists and invites and seating and decoration. Cards and numbers and seatings and …
The list simply does not end. And in the middle of all this is the event for the 28th , my Father’s birth anniversary. There is a cultural programme there as well. Recitation and rendition and all of that will come to me. And of course there is Bigg Boss, which according to the buzz is getting to be quite a favorite and a most popular show.
And the media again, every day, for the promotions. Today another 15 went down the hill with me and I have to say that they are getting to be a most interesting lot. Many now identify with Auro, are anxious to talk to him and one group today even brought along Cadbury’s chocolates knowing Auro’s fondness for the delicious eat. Cute !!
This not withstanding the Times Group wishes for me to write an article on the Power of Entertainment for their anniversary issue.
How on earth one individual shall be able to accomplish all this and remain sane is another wonder that the world seeks but has not been able to find.
I shall take early leave … and leave you with my love as always ..
Amitabh Bachchan

ॐ श्री अमिताभ बच्चन,
नमस्ते, प्रणाम,

Seems like violence and bad behaviour is completely acceptable in the quest for higher TRP’s. Maybe Ahimsa has lost it’s meaning and worth. Unruliness can be tolerated and people subjected to it.
Losing respect is almost as if part of you has also gone .
This is our Kali Yuga and a mere ¼ truth left. Dear God, what have we lost … ?
To the degradation that pervades our lives Bigg Boss, exemplary that we are just animals. Reminds me of a great Kadar Khan dialogue from the classic Agneepath. This is said to be a city, just said however it’s the laws of the jungle that we abide by, that rule us. In the animal kingdom, each animal gains strength and victory by killing the weaker.

Dear all,
To all my dear friends and family. I have utmost respect for everyone here but have been feeling rather low and depressed. Perhaps my situation, the weather or maybe Amitji’s departure from the UK but I’ve not wanted to compromise my comments here although I feel an explanation is deserved. I remain apologetic and humbled by all the sincere references to me and indebted to all those who have missed me. Mutual.
My highest order of thanks and love to Jasmine, Valorie, S kh / USA, Ms Satinder and Srinivasbhai to name but only a few.
Love always,
Manish Parmar, UK.
Good Evening!
Yesterday it was quite shocking and amusing to read that film makers, aritists, all the team make the film and audience in just fraction of second pass their verdict.
But if that is not motivation what else is?
Hey how come ‘Aakhri Salaam’ tag has come into BB3? After this season no Big Boss?
HI ! AURO
THIS IS ME,
SMITA…!!
LOVE YOU
Day 578 ( i ), # 316 - Abhaya Sharma,
Great pages devoted to Dr. Harivansh Rai Bachchan. Wonderful in fact. I also agree that a memorial should be erected. It would commemorate the works of a legend whose legacy future generations could share and learn from.
Furthermore, the Sir Manoj (Bharat) Kumar song ‘ Sarfaroshi Ki Tamanna. Great song. I understand little of it thanks to your ‘ hinglish ‘ lyrics but it made me feel sad and plunged me into further depths of solitude but was so glad you’ve taken the time to share this. Thank you very much !! I listened to it 5/6 times.
Pyar humara dil mein hai ..
Day 578 ( i ), # 8 - rupa jha,
I agree with you comments regarding Katrina Kaif. I have no respect for this talentless woman. Regarding Shamita Shetty. Isn’t there an occasion where she attended a ceremony wearing no chuddies. Besharam !!
Love always,
Manish Parmar, UK.
May be this time I feel I am first to comment Heh Heh Heh….
dear Amitji
Love you very, very
Although I know that Paa is excellent movie I wish you and all who will participate in making the film a big success.
Each port of a movie is like great expectations of birth and where comes the magic, so excited and waiting already.
Love you always and forever.
miri
Yipeee 12 days more for Paa. Can’t wait! It is going to ROCK! Love you sooooooooo much Mr B!
Take care
LOVE !LOVE!LOVE!Always!
Hello Dear uncle,
I hope you are fine. You are truly a versatile person. No matter how many tasks await you.But you have the ability to cope up with situations quite easily.
All prayers for you………
Best Wishes
And……..Loooooovvvvvvvvveeeeeee you
Amitji, I sense your sense of urgency — so much to do, so little time. My best wishes, as always, for everything — the premier, the Vidya Bhavan event, the promotions, the media expectations, the writing of the article — you will accomplish this, and much much more. And you shall stay sane — for our sake.
Remember to breathe — please.
The promotions of PAA have begun on the Indian channels here — good feeling. Also, the Indian news channel have also started to focus on and present special programs on the anniversary of the dastardly terrorist attacks of November 26.
I hope you are in sweet slumberland right now. Please take care of yourself, eat well, sleep well etc.
Love and regards, always,
Jasmine
Manish Parmar — I am so happy to see you back. I was seriously getting concerned about you. Please do not give in to depression, fight it. This too shall pass, and good days will come. You will find a job better than your previous one, just you wait.
Love and best wishes,
Jasmine
leave you !
hello amit ji
i hope at least this time go listens to my prayers and i too would get that famous yellow line from u just one time .waiting very very eagerly for pa but felt sad that the dubai premiere was cancelled
luv u looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooots
good luck supriya
Hello!
The more important question is how can one individual do all this and remain physically healthy- I sincerely hope that you can and of course don’t go insane!
HBO aired a special documentary about the Mumbai terror attacks but I didn’t catch it-I hope they air it again. It’s great to hear that you have recorded a poem by your father and yet another verse. I’m sure with your voice they will resound anywhere !
Good luck with the endless preparations for the premiere-better to have a busy time with it than not I think. Everyone wants to attend and that is a great sign.
And good luck with juggling your father’s birth celebration,BB3, and that article for the anniversary issue.
I watched BB3 and didn’t understand most of it but I did notice that big argument in the beginning-I was wondering what it was about. I don’t know the rules of the show well, including those about nominations.
Tell Auro to be careful and not eat too much candy-His father won’t be able to carry him on his back!
Have a good early rest.
My love to you too as always,
Rochelle
Attending to so many tasks in a day and still remain sane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amitabhji i assure you you have managed to remain sane despite working throughout the day non-stop.
The legends don’t get tired
Happy days ahead
Dear Mr. Bachchan
An article on Power of entertainment……Joseph Campbell should come in handy. Will be looking forward to read the article and your thoughts on the subject…..just to see how an insider looks at entertainment and their thoughts towards the people who look on entertainment (be it in the form of art, poetry, dance and cinema) as an important part of their life.
Just started to watch Bigboss Friday episode….so catch you again later
Good night

Your schedule is indeed jampacked! That you manage to write to us everyday itself is a miracle
Bigg Boss is rocking…but Kambli’s exit saddened me…Is there place only for masala and fights and controversies now? I remember when I was 10 or 12, I idolized Kambli…for me he and Sachin were the only 2 players I liked in our team…but he faded away…and so did fans like me…his exit almost made me sad, guilty for not picking up my mobile and voting for him…like I did for Ismail Darbar. My vote didn’t serve any purpose other than adding to Colors revenues, but still I will continue to vote and stand up for what I think is right…Sorry Kambli…the 10 year old in me still remembers and cherishes your back to back 200s for India!
PS - At the risk of sounding contradictory,my favourite contestant is Vindoo
IT’S ALMOST HERE! AHHHHH! THERE ARE SO MANY THINGS OT DO AND NOT ENOUGH TIME TO DO IT! I WISH I COULD SIT DOWN FOR A FEW NANOSECONDS BUT I CAN’T! I’M GOING TO GO CRAZY!
This is how you feel,no? Well, such measures are needed for such large-scale productions and of course, with you in it, it will be pretty large scale. Don’t worry. the good things about the frenzied feeling is that it doesn’t last too long. Hang in there! We are feeling your pain!

How come only you are hounded for interviews, special programmes, shows on TV and other media. There are other celebrities also who are not approached for any such programmes.
It appears Amitabhji at 68 is going quite strong and his popularity is growing day by day
Keep it up !
God Bless You

Well they say busy people get the work done , so I am sure you will and no wonder you are successful. Proud of you ..waiting for PAA

NU !
Respiram acelasi aer…… gresesc ? NU ! mergem pe acelasi pamant……. gresesc? NU! Bem aceiasi apa…… gresesc? NU !
Respiram acelasi aer……. gresesc? NU !
PLEACA IN COLO, VINO INCOACE….. LASA-MA SI NU IMI DA PACE!
Salut si multa dragoste din Romania , Roxana!
A full plate..*greetings to you and your household*
Feel loved and protected by your gods, great Auro!
Do not let overwhelmed by events, I know you’re a very calculated, which is to balance work and rest, I know you take leave and selfishness does not fully deserve a well deserved break (and before and after the event). Both the utmost of my power, I will be with you and pray to be blessed. Do not want to me, you already have! How? Simple ….. ha ha ha ha ha …… you guess?
We see the sunrise together and we let the sun’s rays caress …. wrong? NO!
Breathe the same air …… wrong? NO!
go on the same ground ……. wrong? NO!
We drink the same water …… wrong? NO!
Breathe the same air ……. wrong? NO!
So how can I sad when you leave and not return I enjoy the moments in this little universe you created my God ….. wrong? NO!
Now is your moment! And the moment you found me and I ……:)
leave you,
get you ……
let me know,
gives me no peace….. !
Hello and much love from Romania, Roxana!
Wishing you a great day ahead

THE COLORS JUST GOT DISCOLORED!!
COLORS STARTED FADING THE MOMENT KAMAAL KHAN RE- ENTERED.
THEN THEY GOT ALL THE MORE UGLY THIS FRIDAY WHEN ROHIT WAS RETAINED!!
YOU WERE AS USUAL, WAY ABOVE ALL THE COLORS…. LOOKING SMASHING IN GREYS…. reid n taylor..huh ?!!!
It’s a question that I have been posing most of the duration I have been on this blog with you anyway! Mr. Bachchan please, if you are feeling overwhelmed in this way, I implore you for the sake of your sanity and wellbeing to endeavour to streamline the work you agree to do.
One person cannot take on this amount of work and stay well and indeed since you are a perfectionist, he cannot perform his duties to his utmost potential either. Can I take the liberty of telling you what I made efforts to stifle in my comments yesterday, and that was that you appear and carry yourself - currently this week from what I see on BB3 - like a man who bears the weight of the world on his shoulders. I was most disheartened to see that your usual spark was missing.
Of course you are no longer able to focus on one task since your mind and time is divided between so many fragmented ones. Just consider the extent of your travel in and out of the country over the past few weeks - its utterly ludicrous by anyone’s standards. And you have a full schedule to complete at each destination too. You know Presidents and Prime Ministers do not even embark of such folly in the call of duty!! You take no time to recover from jet lag, no days off, no recreation time, no leisure activities, no remedial treatment and the work keeps piling up and yet you keep accepting it! There will always be demand for you both publicly and professionally; but at this stage, despite what your humility encourages you to think, you can afford to be selective.
I am sorry to hear you sound so utterly exasperated and even though your posts are lovely and I appreciate them immensely, you still sound fed up. We only have one chance at this life, its not a rehearsal for a movie. It would be tragic if you look back and wish you just lived a little more and worked a little less. Hopefully once the December is over you may have some respite anyway, but please do look after your self in the interim - nobody else can take that course of action on your behalf.
Okay…I apologize for the rant, but I couldn’t very well neglect to vent! Have not even read the post in detail yet, but I will return once I have.
Thank you for writing we do appreciate your devotion. Please rest well and forget about work for just a few hours to give your poor, abused mind a chance to recover itself! Relax, everything will fall into place that you have set in motion; and surely the rest can wait for now!
Back later… Goodnight, sweet dreams.
All my love,
Jasmine

We all prefer to celebrate the happy events rather than sad memories, but that to remember such pain is that the best lessons in life, how to avoid, prevent the future and especially to write the collective memory.
I hope you ever celebrate happiness, but for the rest … It’s a necessary evil.
I don’t know, since I am the blog, you’ve noticed or not my ugggggggggggggly default :P: I can not retain myself saying what I have in my heart, whatever everyone agree or disagree with the opinion
Moving on to the fact … I am impatient to see the movie Paa more than any other movie of this season, maybe I’ll be in France when Paa will be on the screen and I will miss for anything in the world, but to be honest … Euh..; I miss Amitabh Bachchan at the top of this page, ok you want to keep Auro!, then paste him a french beard: D
Just kidding Sir, I am impatient to see Auro on the screen and return of my idol to my homepage

Dearest Mr Bachchan
There could be not greater contribution to the 26/11 documentary than to record a poem by your father which has deep resonance for India seeking to rebuild strength and faith in the future after such a terrible tragedy. This is the mark of a great work of art.. that it illuminates the human condition not just at the moment in time when it is created but also speaks to generations to come in situations undreamed of at the time of writing. That is how devotees of Shakespeare constantly find the verse written centuries ago so perfectly apt for this millenium.
I still hope that one day - after the release of the new bi-lingual edition of Madhushala - you might bring about a volume containing some of the greatest examples of your father’s other poems in the finest of translations.
Meanwhile.. maybe you should offer a premiere ticket to the person who can correctly answer the question about how one person can accomplish soooo much and still remain sane… a dilemma that has caused deepest anxiety and perplexity amongst FmXT.. with NOBODY seeming to have a convincing explanation!
With all my love as ever, Dasiy

Dear Auro,
please invite akki, ajay and great dalip kumar.please
Your appearance on Bigg Boss show today was simply awesome.
You looked quite suave, handsome and dashing in grey suit with deep orange necktie. Many females including some from our large contingent of EF, must have gazed at you to their heart’s content.
A young teenager among our EF was in flirtatious mood today and expressed her love for you on this blog. What is this Amitabhji you are cornering all the attention much to the discomfort of other bloggers here. Anyway enjoy this hour of glory and celebrations.
you looked more confident and playful.it appears you are also enjoying bigg boss as much as the viewers.
this is the only show on tv which is watched by all the 6 members including 5 year old ria , in three different rooms simultaneously.though the timings of bigg boss clash with another great musical show on zee tv on fridays and saturdays, we watch the latter show only during commercials

One more thing I want to convey through this blog which I eagerly wanted to convey that I had some resemblance of Abhishek and my mother resemble Jaya Ji, that too from her college days. In our family also we were four members, as u, jaya ji, abhi and shweta and now my wife has joined as Ash joined.

#14 Jasmine, I agree with your comments to Manishbhai. Manishbhai, keep your spirits high, there is always something better round the corner.
I had to resign my job after a very stressful year and excessive pressures and just finished on 6th November. I am just taking this opportunity to have a break after working for almost 20 years in the insurance industry. I am hoping something will be out there in the new year, if not, I am sure I will start to panic.
Good Night
Sirji..just watched Abhishek Bachchan’s interview on NDTV and pleasure to note that he has produced it on his own and also he let us all known that he paid handsomely to all his actors and even he is going to pay you more than the market norms…great ‘PAA’….
He was complaining ABCL’s failure since any of you family members not involved actively with the company affair and let it in the hand of executives. Does this was the correct reason or selection of the executives were not right???
With love and warm regards,

So much to do and so little time …..but you will accomplish all that you have set out to do. It is in your make up! But please don’t lose your health whilst juggling with all the priorities. I will pray that you get the space, time and energy to get everything done as per the deadlines.
Best of Luck with all the preparations.

The nominations by the inmates in Bigg Boss tomorrow—to be telecast on Monday—are likely to throw up many surprises. Poonam,Pravesh,Kamaal, Raju and Claudia are likely to break away from the group of plotters and exercise their vote according to their conscience.Vindhu and Rohit are likely to receive highest votes and the Boss is not likely to add any other names this time.
Rohit should better be careful —This time it will be a gorilla’s cage for him for any act of delinquency.
Dearest Big B,
Nice to hear that your good cause is in on the roll and so is the preparations for the premieres of ‘Paa’..!
All the best to you and also, please take are of your health and don’t forget your gym routines!

Life is a funny thing. In some ways it is so predictable, yet it can also be remarkably mysterious. Just when I think I have it figured out, it takes another unexpected turn. Since life is a journey, not a destination, I remind myself that the road will, at times, be rough. In the past few months I have seen a number of my loved ones and dear friends face some painful experiences. There is so much suffering all around that keep me thinking about the paradox of hardships and difficulties. One of the beautiful things about our human nature is that we can choose to find meaning and purpose in the most devastating of circumstances. Viktor Frankl, an Austrian psychiatrist who lived in the 20th century, wrote poignantly on this subject. He lived through imprisonment and torture. He reflected on his experiences in his book Man’s Search for Meaning. He recalls, “We who lived in concentration camps can remember the men who walked through the huts comforting others and giving away their last piece of bread. They may have been few in number, but they offer sufficient proof that everything can be taken from a man, but one thing: the last of the human freedoms- to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.”
I am certain we all remember many accounts of the selfless acts of courage by those who endured the 26/11 tragedy. In the face of such evil was an unquenchable thirst for good to prevail! That attitude is at the core of all human triumph, whether it be in small or great ways. Seeing ourselves as capable of rising above circumstances lays the foundation for a life well lived. So as I travel the road of life I must do my best to take time to reflect on my decisions. In this way I will be able to fully choose my way and my attitude. The focus cannot be what happens, but rather how will I choose to respond to what happens! This is not the answer to living an easy life-there is no such thing-but it will ensure that I leave this world a little better than when I found it. Every situation in life has the potential to allow the greatness of the human spirit to shine forth. I have seen it first hand in the lives of my family and friends. Perhaps we can call to mind these words of Viktor Frankl, “when we are no longer able to change a situation-we are challenged to change ourselves.”
Let hope prevail!!!

Dear Sir.
You have a jam packed fortnight ahead of you. Surely sanity is going to
be the key word for you. And I bet you will add more to this already
overfilled schedule that you have. God only knows how you manage to
juggle all of these balls together and to top it, you spend time to keep in
touch with us.
Have learnt discipline from you. But time management is what you are teaching
all of us onboard. Hats off to you.
Best of luck for all the ventures; as a writer, son, poet, lyricist and actor.
And a PJ to end my note: “When a man thinks he is not sane; tell him to get a
A Sanitary napkin to feel the pain, which still keep women sane from going insane.”
Stay cool, stay focussed and yes stay fit.
Love.

Apropos the latest Abhishek Idea venture (which I’ve just put up here) and without questioning his own integrity and sincerity in this matter I offered in another forum my own polemics about all of this. I reproduce these below:
“This new ’serious’ ad which I like far less than the other lighter, subversive ones is nonetheless (and perhaps unintentionally) ‘obscene’ in its own way. What starts of sounding as a serious and somber moment of remembrance ends up as a pitch for a telecom company! So when Abhishek says ‘main chup nahin rahoonga’ the translation is ‘even on this occasion I will make a pitch for Idea’! And the Idea message is subversive too.. no one should keep quiet in the wake of this tragedy, everyone should just consume more and the way ‘we’ offer a solution on this equation is the one Zizek critiques all the time.. the most rapacious capitalism supported by the greatest philanthropic enterprises! It was the classic Bush dictum after 9/11.. it’s an emergency, ‘we are always under attack’, every repressive measure is justified.. so on and so forth.. but hey you should still shop till you drop!
One should also note that this whole 26/11 event in India has its own ‘obscene’ truth. Besides the fact that it allowed a Rang de Basanti kind of vigil staging (our lives are authentic now only to the extent that we can make them like the movies!) there was this desperation to convert it into a 9/11 sort of event. So ‘9/11′ is in fact and perversely a global code of prestige. London had its 7/7 for example. But 26/11 has caught on in a bigger way (perhaps the ‘11′ common to both dates helps even if the dating system is inverted of course, the US putting the month first) because of course the Indian media is one of the world’s more significant apparatuses at this point. The larger point is that there is an ‘economics’ of tragedy. What is more tragic is what can also be staged with greater efficiency and endlessly replayed in better soundbites. The ‘movie’ must work. 9/11 and 26/11 operated in real time because of the 24/7 news cycle in each instance, also became ultimate symbols of national tragedy and mourning but were also consumed as such, cynically sold for the same reasons.
Every single day in India a far greater number is lost to poverty or disease or dispossession. This does not trouble anyone’s conscience even as we race to put satellites in orbit. Nor do those pogroms that ought to be a stain on any national conscience.”
I would further add by way of clarification here that it is not anyone’s ‘intention’ that is in doubt. Idea of course is donating all of the proceeds to charity in this instance. But we must get beyond such easy notions of subjectivity and consider the larger structure in question.
Let me offer a not unconnected example — what was it about the European Enlightenment that even as it offered all kinds of revolutionary ideas, radically democratic notions and so forth, that it also coincided with some of the worst and most rapacious ‘colonialism’ known to history? It isn’t that a ‘good’ European ‘civilization’ that otherwise boasted of Rousseau and Mozart somehow committed this horrible violence as a mere infraction of human nature. This idea must be completely rejected. It is precisely a certain ‘understanding’ of the human and human and freedom and furthermore a certain coding of the very idea of ‘civilization’ that made possible the persecution and extermination of various ‘natives’. ‘European man’ was engaged in bringing the light (L’Epoque des lumieres as the French would say..) of culture and progress (so called) to the less fortunate around the world! Even as these ideas were radical and rightly deserve to be cherished we should also be alert to what it was about those ideas that also led to some of these excesses. Another example — the Declaration of the Right of Man celebrates all kinds of freedoms but the ‘unsaid’ here in some ways is the fact that all such emancipatory potential is linked to traditional notions of blood and soil. In other words if one were born in France, if one were a native of France one could lay claim to this discourse. What however if one were not? The French state and every other ‘Western’ state even today struggled to reconcile those values with current ‘immigration’ realities. Ideas have consequences.
I took a bit of a detour here. Rousseau was every bit as sincere when he wrote many of his celebrated works as Abhishek is when he appears in this ad. The question that must be asked once again is this: what larger ‘economy’ does such a notion of tragedy and remembrance feed? Could it be that it is only the media spectacle that qualifies as such? Could it be that certain deaths are worth more than others? Across different countries (3000 killed in the US means a lot more than 300000 in Rwanda!), within the same country (do lower caste deaths mean as much as upper caste ones in India? Could Hindus be killed with the kind of impunity in pogroms that Muslims and Sikhs have been subjected to? Is all of this not tragedy? What about the various natural disasters? The atrocious tales of dispossession? What of the poverty that stares at us each and every day on our city streets (the one you talked about not so long ago) and that we do not find too tragic? One could keep multiplying these examples. What is special about 26/11? That the country was attacked by a ‘foreign’ element? Is this the only definition of tragedy? Or does the state’s national security only come into question this way? Isn’t the idea of India threatened when those other kinds of tragedies are perpetrated (in most instances man made)? To paraphrase Shakespeare in very crude fashion — does a body not bleed when it is attacked by the ‘native’? Can a ‘native’ not be dispossessed by another? Does a woman who is paraded naked through a village or gang-raped for ‘codes of honor’ feel less ashamed because it is her own ‘neighbor’ who is responsible for this? Who accounts for all this? It is understandable that being human we get swept up in the media frenzy. But shouldn’t we also step back from time to time? Isn’t the real story of this event, the real offense it caused, beyond the obvious, the fact that this could happen in the most symbolic of Bombay hotels? Isn’t there a class argument to be made here? Otherwise all kinds of ‘terrorist’ violence is committed in many corners of India every single day. Who particularly cares though we all express regret?
Again all of this is not an argument against your or Abhishek’s intervention in the memorials to this event? Nor am I arguing against anyone else. But isn’t one’s conscience (and this includes all of us, every one of us) to easily satisfied with such a gesture? One has done one’s part. This gets to the critique Zizek often launches and that I also referenced earlier. Even as global capitalism unleashes enormous degrees of violence in every corner of the globe in service of this new fundamentalism called the ‘market’ it also at the very time also engages in remarkable philanthropic work. The problem isn’t with the latter per se. The issue is that the latter never seems to disturb the former. The structure of violence that is brought about by a certain predatory capitalism never minds the philanthropy as the latter justifies the violence. Again people who act philanthropically probably do so sincerely on their own. But the structure remains unaltered and it is this sort of thing I am critiquing here.
its to collect funds for those that sacrificed their lives .. for the police force
Dear Sir,
Good luck and best wishes for all you have to do. My head started to hurt when I was just trying to read through your schedule. May all your endeavours be successful and special good luck to Bahu Rani for heading the advertising team of PAA. She will rock as always.
Love always

@MANISH PARMAR
We, in west feel the same way in winters. Here in Cincinnati, it gets dark at 5.20p.m., very depressing. One thing that I feel really helps is good white light, it gives the impresssion of the day. I have installed one tube light in my kitchen rather that same yellow depressing bulbs, it does help. Second is the to stay connected with AmitJi’s fmxt, it is a real chauvanparash for your mind and soul and third is good music. See if it helps.
Regards always

Hi Amitji
Nice reading your blog it gives people like me fresh hope in life. Don’t know am going through a bit of hard times at the moment so like this. But all the best to you.
I hasten to add yet again that I sometimes (only occasionally!) get carried away with my polemical flourishes but all of this is in NO WAY a response ‘against’ you or Abhishek or anyone else who is sincere about these matters. A good friend of mine, Rajen, who forever chides me for being too hard on you reminds me of this great Zizek line which I think is entirely appropriate:
“The One Measure of True Love Is: You Can Insult the Other”
Even taking such ‘irony’ into account I can safely say that I intended love, not insult..
Bets wishes busy B !

Veena
I hope and wish your guest list include us too. Take care.
Dearest Amit ji,
Namaskar!
I still remember the horrid incidence of 26/11 and wish it never took place. When you talk about entertainment, I guess the song enacted by Akshay Kumar for some animated movie comes to mind ‘Jumbo’. It was so apt to the situation. I guess entertainment brought solace to many as they dived into a world of fantasy illusioned temporarily with a hope to forget.
May your movie continue to inspire all of us…
Love & Regards
Hello there, Busy B! My heavens, you ARE doing sooooo much right now…
More power to you, Sir! You CAN do ‘ALL THIS’ and I happen to think you could/WOULD do ‘ALL THIS AND MORE’ if you got the chance…You are ’showing up’ many, many people who are younger than you…After all, you are the original “Hard Workin’ Man”…Buddy, you are STILL at the top of your game…
Do you want MY opinion on the matter? I think you are doing just what you want to be doing…and that being this busy makes you very happy…
I also am of the opinion that perhaps…being just a ‘little bit crazy’ couldn’t hurt…
My love to you, ‘as always’…as well…
Nareshbhai / Jasmine,
Once again thank you both for your inspiring words. It means a lot to me !!
Love always,

Good thought. I agree the correct lighting can makes all the difference. Your last thought music is moreover very important to me. I submerse myself into Indian Classical music, namely Tabla. An instrument that I’ve always had great respect for since childhood.
Thank you .. Love always,

busy ???????????
My dearest Mr. Bachchan,
The first anniversary of that horrific event is bound to be the most delicate. The healing period is still insufficient for people to separate from those shocking images. For those who suffered directly or have lost loved ones I suppose the scars will never truly fade - tragically they will relive this to a certain degree every year!
Life adopts a deviant feel when a city is forced to live on high security alerts, I remember how powerless everyone felt here when the July terror bombings occurred. It takes ample time for that blanket of vulnerability to lift. Nevertheless, the media seems to have taken the appropriate course in focussing on restoring and bolstering morale, which is prerequisite for rebuilding a community.
These encouraging words from the nations most eminent and undoubtedly from your fathers collection will surely be the balm to soothe those open wounds.
I do look forward to hearing everything you have recorded for this anniversary and you can rest assured every word will resonate and reach the world with the ardour you have injected. Your work always does Mr. Bachchan, that is why you are such a desirable commodity - the ‘8th wonder’ that the world has been seeking, apparently!!
Delighted to hear the affinity with Auro has penetrated the media and what a beautiful bond it sounds like too with all these presents and chocolates!! The media are usually among the more cynical of the bunch and never so ‘in touch‘ with the child within them! Very cute indeed - your painstaking efforts to create you character has not been in vain. He has already found fame and prominence before ever making his ‘debut‘!
Yes, your proposed schedule is endless, I could tell you were weary a couple of days ago when you stopped mentioning how you were feeling! That is usually an indicator of a negative I have noticed! But I simply cannot whine any more than in my previous comment, but the sentiment very much still stands.
Perhaps as the 26th and the 28th pass you may achieve satisfaction in having seen some jobs through completion. The mountain may not appear quite so high. But I do hope you may be considering some recreation time after this spate; if I am not too hopeful.
Goodnight again and may the rest renew you energy and your spirit of perseverance for the morrow. Look after yourself Mr. Bachchan.
All my love as ever,
Jasmine

Dear Amitji,
As yu have narrated your schedule ahead of the 26th, and then onwards for the premier of the movie, your great Father’s Anniversary preparations and on top, they wants you to join the panel for discussion for 26/11, write an article for TOI????? WOW- I do not know about you, but I am already going insane just by thinking all these and your health. Please, Please, do take some power naps and rest as you can. By the way, I forgot Big Boss…. amazing. We pray to Almighty for HIS BLESSINGS for you and the family for a great success.

Mr. B,
Yes the atrocities of that day 26/11 have left an indelible scar in our psyche which can never be erased and as if on cue I am going to watch “Kurbaan” today ,hope the film lives up to its expectations. Also waiting to hear your rendition. Kasab, the main suspect, is still sitting “pretty” without any action being taken on him ,its something that is beyond comprehension, a person who has witnesses to certify that he has killed mercilessly right before their eyes ,still stands on judgement, just fail to comprehend the judiciary and its thinking.I mean does this happen anywhere else in the world I ask?
On to better things and what better than our moppet ,Auro and cadburys, well here’s to him amd success, lots of love .
Dear Amitabh Bachchan,
It is so good that you participate more in commemoration of 26/11 events and that your Father’s poetry has a part in it recited in your voice. And that you also recorded blank verse by Prasoon Joshi.
You wrote - “They are strong and inspirational. I feel it from the heart as my rendition resounds in the hollows of a recording studio.”
What comes through our heart will certainly reach the hearts of others ! I know ..
*
You have quite a load of work to do all at once right now.. It is hard, but it is a blessed time of accomplishments big and small - the way we bring good things into existence in this world …
*
So happy to learn that Bigg Boss is quite a favorite and a most popular show. I watch parts of it on Youtube, especially the ones on Friday and Saturday with you graceful presence.. : )
It is strange, but the fact that the show is in the language from which I understand just a few words - I still enjoy it a lot and understand most of the happenings. Of course I would not mind to know the conversations in the detail of meaning, Saturday ones in particular, between you and evicted participants…
*
It is so nice how some media people approach you as Auro and even bring chocolates..
It’s touching … And Auro has a sure and a fond place in my heart too…
*
I wish you to remain safe and sound in all the multitude of activities that you are to perform..
And may all go well for you and yours..
God bless and take care.
My love and prayers.

Dear Amitji

Here in UAE,festive season and holiday season starts.Schools get closed on 26th and opens 12 days after.Children need a few days outing and of course first day show of Paa….
Luv & Regards
Shankar
Amitji, sounds like there is a lot of anxiety building up with two big events coming up.
PAA under the AB Corporation banner, and then your dad’s poetry recital. I would love o hear you narrate the poetry if it is at all possible for you to tape it and present it on this blog.
I just can imagine the baritone voice of yours similar to your narration in the film, Silsila and Kabhi Kabhi.
Anyway, you should take good rest and with your enormous talent and experience, nothing should go wrong.
So all the best for the coming events.
Regards to you and the Bachchan Family.
Dharmen
Amit ji,
IT SEEMS THAT “AURO” AND MYSELF HAVE SOMETHING IN COMMON = CADBURY’S CHOCOLATE, I LOVE IT, BUT NOT AS MUCH AS I LOVE YOU!
LOTS OF LOVE (as always)

“How on earth one individual shall be able to accomplish all this and remain sane is another wonder that the world seeks but has not been able to find.”
Well ! Amit ji, You got us ! !
How would we know the answer? With due respect, you will have to open up the secret at your leisure time.
With lots of Love……and regards as well.
My dearest & beloved Mr. Bachchan,
There is no doubt that incidents such as these of 26/11 can never be forgotten or eradicated from the memory of the people. Even me, who is an outsider to the country, but I can’t forget the images of the battles that took place in Taj hotel and which we were following on the news till the early hours of the next day..
These are terrorizing and frightening moments, security of the people and the nation is threatened and a lot of innocent people lose their lives.
But what is strange about it is that with moments such as these new spirit is created in a society. At times of danger people tend to forget about many things, their problems and their differences, and they tend to get together to fight for their safety and their peace.
At times such as these people tend to forget about any internal problem within their own society on the economic or social level, they tend to forget about the difficulties they encounter and they would remember one thing…that they are the sons and daughters of this land, this is where they belong…and they feel the love for their countries.
These moments of dangers are moments to be condemned and fought against…and these are also the moments which make us aware of to this land to which we belong, of this home of ours which, despite of its limitations, is still ours and the it is the sweetest and the warmest and needs us to defend it….these are the moments when we feel the warmth of unity, oneness and togetherness with each other in the face of this threat.
I am writing this to you because this is the moment when I feel immense love to my country.
I wish you all best of luck with these projects in which you are participating in commemoration of this event. Iam sure what you have felt during your recording of these words by Prasoon Joshi will be transformed to each and every one. many TV channels will certainly make documentaries about the events of 26/11 and on mentioning about your father’s poem which you recorded for India TV, I wish you would write to us a few of your father’s lines…it has been a long time since you shared some lines from his poetry with us on the blog.
I wish you all the best with the promotions for PAA…there are certainly a lot of preparations and so much to do till the date of the premier, and AURO will be just so busy with all these promotional works and interviews…but seems he enjoys chocolate the most and wouldn’t mind doing all these interviews a long as he will get his favourite and delicious chocolate.
There is so much work for you to accomplish, all these promotional works, Bigg Boss, preparations for the ‘Bachchan Sandhaya’ and the requests of the Times group…how can one ask you not to stress and tire yourself then?!!
…
I wish you all best of luck…and I wish I could help
Take care of yourself..
Love you so much..

# 7 Manish Parmar :
Ha ha ha……….I guess Shamita is trying to elevate herself to Britney spears level and making good use of her ‘X’ factor.
We are sipping tea when the promo of “PA” appears on the TV and guess what happens next. The tea is left alone, right then, right there on the table. Our hands automatically go left and right and then over our heads, as we mirror Auro’s moves and for the next 10 seconds or however long the ad is, we are dancing in absolute joy, completely transformed into kids, which we were some forty years ago. That is what “PA” does to us.
So it was so good to see the video on your blog yesterday which showed how contagious Auro is and we were not the only persons affected by the infectious dance and laughter (Ho Ho) of Auro, which we are also trying to perfect.
Hi Mr. B. I read the article mentioned by reply # 59. It was truly interesting considering the “reviewer” hasn’t even seem the film. Is he clairvoyant???? What a mean way to write an article, based on his biased perception of what he has seen (supposedly) in other films. I think most of his audience will be able to see through his rude article and ignore his blatant attempt at making a name for himself on someone elses perceived mistakes. To him I say… GET A REAL LIFE JERK!!!!! Love and admire you, Mr. B. Mary Anne
Dear Lion King,
It is about time that we as a nation realize that remembering the victims on an annual basis, recording a great tribute by various artists and once in a way soulfully stirring up brave words by politicians and celebrities is not enough. The best way we can pay tribute to the victims and their families is to ensure justice is meted and the arbitrators of the crime are punished. I am fed up with how dainty and petite we look after an act of terrorism has slapped us hard across our faces.
Inspirational poems do not inspire those who need to be inspired. Only people like you and I have time for it and we are greatly moved. Do you think the folks from the other side of the wall will be listening to poems or people who can make things happen on this side even care? No, what they will listen to is action and sanction. Even after a year if we are not able to take action against the masterminds whilst the lone terrorist who was caught, sits in our prisons ordering for biriyani it is shameful.
Rajdeep , Arnab and you have to be acknowledged for what you are doing for this memorial service, but it is nothing and not worth more than the air time revenue that these channels will generate. People will listen to it on that day and move on with their daily lives the day after while dossiers after dossiers get hand balled from one foreign affairs ministry to another in demand for “proof”.
What you and other noted celebrities need to do is to raise your voices to be heard like how every citizen of the US was heard after 9/11 demanding justice and put pressure on the Government to do so. Of course the difference is, you have a government in the US that listens and values LIFE of every American citizen. Somebody on this blog yesterday had mentioned about celebrating the achievements of a noted “leader”. Yes, celebrate we will for doing just about NOTHING to either stop terrorism or NOTHING thereafter.
“But will it resound in the corridors of the electronic media with equal resonance ?? And thereby eventually to the rest of the country and the world ! Who knows.”
The answer to the above is at the current rate, the resonance of poems and songs will resound in the electronic media and in a very narrow corridor, so narrow that the air will stifle and suffocate those that are brave enough to walk it.
Men like you are chosen carefully by the one above to make a difference to our lives. You have done so and continue to do so, but those who are chosen to lead by this democracy continue to sit on a pile of crap so high that they do not wish to come down. Comfort zone.
So, poems and ” Mile sur ” are meant for patriotic individuals, a “slap” is what needs to be delivered to the rest and it is then it will resound in the corridors of the electronic media with equal resonance and thereby eventually to the rest of the country and the world ! Oxygen in plenty.
xoxoxoxoxo
Thankfully there are few honorable men like you, like needles in a haystack.
Hope PAA continues to rock this world.
Sharmila
you are super i cant wait to see that movie
Hi Mr. Bachchan
The after effects of 26/11 are as tragic as the event itself how else does one explain tat trial is still going on & justice is yet 2 prevail.
There are so many activities going on rt now, ur schedule is completely choc-a-bloc. Saw an interview of Abhishek with Anupama Chopra. Nice one with interesting ques with even more interesting & crisp answers. Glad to know tat he has handled d production so well.
Take care
Love & regards

“Arnab Goswami from Times Now wishes that I join a panel as does Rajdeep Sardesai from CNN/IBN that will discuss the effect and after effect of this day and date. I am not qualified for this and regret…”
really? why not?
Every citizen of India has an opinion about tragedy that struck our beloved country. It’s shameful that a person of your stature won’t feel like contributing towards anything other than some ads that you get paid for.
disgusting…………….although you might say I am excersising my right in democratic country.
If people of your stature simply choose to limit themselves this way, what can one expect from common people!!!!

This Poonam Dhillon acts like a Miss Goody Two Shoes ,doling out advice and consolation to some out there, yes she may be pretty but thats how far as it goes, nothing beyond.I feel Sherlyn Chopra was the butt of jealousy in that House and so ousted, green eyed monsters shooed her away, the burden of being attractive!Take care mr.B and love and regards.

Hi Sir,
As 26/11 approaches those that lost their lives and the brave that fought to save others will be remembered as they have been ever since the event occurred. Media will be doing its parts on the day as you have mentioned and thousands will tune in to see what they have to present.
The chocolate gifts to Auro, what a creative thing to do. So, did Auro devour them immediately upon receiving them or has he decided to store them and enjoy them slowly? The load of work that you speak of with the passing days does not seem to be decreasing even with all the time passing. Wishing you luck and the FmXt is always here to help with your work, if at all possible. Hoping to see the yellow line, it has been a while.

On 26/11, we as an individual smust think what we can do to check unfortunate situations which happened in Mumbai last year. We have to reform ourselves first. Let the central and stage agencies do their best, but we individuals have to be rationale. Root cause of all such attacks is non-tolerance of all kinds pervading in the society. We must propagate tolerance in all spheres, social, religious, political, economic, etc. We have to follow the great idea of VASUDHAIV KUTUMBKAM… and only we Indians are capable of following it up because it has been bestowed on us by our culture.
Poor AURO is supposed to fight THREE IDIOTS in the coming days. We pray AURO dominates because he is intelligent, cute, sweet and loving !!!
Looking forward to the Prasoon Joshi’s verses in your superb voice.
Sir, this is high time to change the subject of the POLL. Why this aspect is being neglected for too long? There are many subjects worth inclusion in the Poll.
With love, regards and best wishes.

# 100 - Sharmila,
It’s 2.52am here in London and I can’t sleep. I love your comment !!
I commend your thoughts and conviction with regards to 26/11. I too am an outsider however my heart is firmly inbedded in Indian culture, soil and it’s spirit.
Yes, shameful if the lone terrorist sits in his cell ordering biriyani and awaiting trial. Shameful that the legal system fails the inncocent and weak. Shameful that such a Nuclear Super power was so ill prepared and slow to react.
As a nation, perhaps an annual 1 minute silence or something that is a tangible tribute to those that lost their innocent lives. Furthermore, I couldn’t agree more but poems, songs and wise words from Politicians and celebrities means nothing.
It is true this lone terrorist wanted to meet Amitabh Bachchan ??
Love always,

For AB,
What goes for moral values and philosophy, the same applies to entertainment and culture - that is - if one doesn’t have the strength to have his own, then it is imposed on him by the people. No one can live without them in any case.
It can be dressed in innocuous terms like ‘Escapist’ Cinema, ‘Reality’ Show, ‘Art’ film, or ‘Parallel’ Cinema whatever. The fact is that it is both epistemic and well organised.
Associations form a legal nexus to protect the interests of the fraternity and deliver their goods to a captive audience. In due course of time, the territory becomes safe to raise the stake and take-off the mask of aesthetics.
Does creative art depict real life or is an art devised to project the evil causes of its creators? Is entertainment a tool for re-shaping the culture or should culture be the source of entertainment?
You did well to decline the offer to discuss the subject on TV. There must be millions of terrorists like Kasab out there in the wilderness who love the genre that made you a superstar. The persecuted minority. Your die-hard fans.
Mumbai city left the attack behind it within hours of the close-out of the incident. Note the developments after that. Less than 40% turned out to vote in the immediate local elections. Raj Thackeray’s goons came to power. The state home minister who had been chucked for the event, was voted back into power by the people.
Aesthetically, morally, philosophically and for the sake of entertainment we have now come accepted terrorism. This is what the entertainers wanted. This is their moral ideal that has reached its destination.
Lets not get into denial. Its time to raise the stakes and remove the mask of aesthetics.

Sharmila #100: That was an inspired comment. Great job articulating your frustration and anger at the inaction and unpreparedness of the government and the lip service that is going to be paid as the day approaches. I hear you, and agree with most of what you’ve written. The only thing I will say is that remember and commemorate we must, but words must be backed by action. One must walkd the talk. Emotion is not enough.

Respected Amit ji,
I have taken part in the poll in which you have asked readers to vote on whether to write a column for a newspaper or not. I have opted for a big NO.Why? Because I don’t walk a very good human being like you to walk through this world of mud and dirt. all these channels out there are in a race for power and TRPs.they don’t mean a word of what they say and there commitment towards the society is minimum. It is just sensationalism at its best.Thanks.Bye!
Dear uncle,
Good Morning! How are you? So you are requested to write and record a few articles by TIMES,CNN ,IBN etc.Ha Ha!I am not laughing at your plight.Sorry if it hurt you.PAA is coming close by.I will surely watch it.

Respected Amitji,
The memories of 26/11 are still fresh and painful.Somehow whatever the electronic media comes up with…..it does’nt create any impression on my mindset…I feel their motive is TRPs TRPs and TRPs. They seem to be a ruthless lot and totally insensitive. All that matters to them is putting up a good show.
Your schedule and your To Do list seems impossible to achieve. You manage to do so much Amitji….Hats off to you!!!
Regards
Shubha
Dear Mr B,
365 days gone and 26/11 comes again and what have we done with Kasab, kept him in a lockup and feed him all he desires, sent him Rakhi’s and heard all that he had to say. What should have been done with him? He should have been kicked till he died.
Was it not not one of the times articles that suggested that you should stop writing your blogs as the English was not up to the mark. Your writing style has not changed wonder if they have become a little less erudite.
Best of luck for the premier and the programme on the 28th of this month. Will we get to see the programme on any network. Would not want to miss it.

Dear Amitji,
Namaste.
Loved reading your blog this morning. Yes, we stand by Mumbai and salute the bravehearts who died on duty during the 26/11 stand off.
Sir, love you, adore you and if time permits would love to receive an e-mail from you…….have been an ardent fan since i was a little girl and have been in love with you ever since……. Honestly speaking whenever i watched a new movie the hero of that particular movie would be my idol, but a week later, my favourite actor would invariably be Amitabh Bachchan……… Take care.
Love you always,
Zeta

Dear Sir,
May I propose that we have a special screening for the EF in Mumbai.
The participants can be chosen by you personally within the family and I volunteer to organise this show (any other volunteers from the EF are welcome).
Other cities can also have their own chapters for organising this show.
As time is short, may I request your consent to begin this exercise.

REspected Amitji..
There are so manyu activities lined up and each one has enough depth in it and needs immense involvement. You are completely sane and are doing absolutely good.
Was touched by the events on remembering 26/11 victims… I second the opinion of m dear friend Sharmila on more of action to be backed up… U are all diong splendid job but yet a lot of action to be stil done by the government.
Auro is doing exceptionally good. hmmm so he gets more chocolates ??? what does he do? eat it all or give it to his grand children?
ur takl with Vinod was too good. U aksed the most apt questions and very subtly at that. HE was truly calm and controlled during his tenure at BB3.
Thanks for the sweet post . Pl donot worry abt it being short. It carries loads of love and affection.
love u more and more and more

Dear Amitji,
26/11 is fast approaching. Commoners commemorate the day with poems, songs, flowers, candles, and prayers for the lives lost. The media commercializes the event with talks, more talk shows, interviews with the loved ones as they mourn the dead, cameras zoom in as tears roll down their eyes, repeated close-ups of Kasab with backpack/without backpack will be shown, news reporters shall stand before the Taj and all the different places attacked and speak and speak and speak, whilst we lie back on our comfy couches in the luxury of our homes and bring it all up again - like lazy cows regurgitating it all and chewing the cud. What’s the purpose? Even the name 26/11 is borrowed, after the famous 9/11. Can’t our emotions at least be true to heart and not cashed in on?
My hubby was working in Mumbai during the 26/11, and he worked through the whole period. There was one part of the city with terrorists, hostages, gunshots, and on fire, and in another part, life just moved on. That is the speed at which Mumbai recovers. I salute their courage and their spirit. But why they have goons in position of power is beyond me. We want the security tightened and safety for Indians. They are worried about why Tendulkar calls himself an Indian first! Are they mourning the 26/11? I doubt. The entire political system needs to be revamped.
Eagerly looking forward to reading your article on the Power of Entertainment. Good luck with the premiere of Paa, the anniversary celebrations, and Bigg Boss. I am sure u will have the stamina to do all that and more.
Love and more,
Aishwarya.

Dearest BIG DADDY of all,it’s difficult to bear the fear of 26/11.the horror of bloodbath still haunts and the senseless cruelity those ruthless (not) humans sprayed still raise the palpitations .kasab and company should never ever be spared.India per se is still very linient and diplomatic on the said issue.no words of sympathy can ever soothe the wounds of those who lost their loved ones and the brave who gave their lives for MARATHI MANOOS/INDIANS .THEIR DESIRE TO TRAUMATISE INDIANS IS MORE STRONGER THAN OUR DESIRE TO PROTECT OURSELVES.
another sad story was shown in NDTV about the gaurds who are being sheltered/stuffed in Gate way of india for the lack of housing facilities. If you want to do something please equip these NSG guys with state of the art equipments and a real bulletproof jacket.MY blood boils of the inefficiencies in the system and we stand here thinking/talking a lot but doing nothing…
WILL somebody question Raj thackrey’s integrity on being saviour of marathi manoos and where was he during all this blood bath.where were his goons (good only for breaking glasses and furnitures).come on the forefront you coward.i’m really sorry for this outburst….WE DEMAND JUSTICE…No words of sympathy ,poems, remembrance can soothe the wounds these @##$% have inflicted…Another Subhash chandra bose is required….any volunteers??????
Well the question you put up for doing so much and keeping sane…is a billion dollar question and YOU are the only one who has the answer and only YOU can enlighten the world answering it.please do it someday.regards vikas
Manish ….Hang on a little dude…..there’s light on the end of this tunnel…and i liked the way you said BESHARAM…(remember AB song Mujhe mar kar besaram kha gaya.ha.ha)

Hi Amitji - Let me begin by wishing you all the best for the success of ‘PAA’. I am eagerly looking forward to watching the movie with my kids (10 and 8 year old).
Since this is the first time i am posting my views on your blog, i would like to start by paying my tributes to your illustrious father, the great Harivanshji. I take this opportunity of sharing with you the excerpts of an interview of Harivanshji which was published in Dharmayug. In the interview he had very fondly recounted the moment that how you could not take part in a drama when you were in hostel because of illness. He went to describe that you had rehearsed a lot for the stage show and got ill just on the eve of the school function. Realing that you would be alone in your room while your friends would be busy with the function, your father decided to be with you sharing your feelings in those moments.
Believe me Amitji, I was a child when i read this interview. But i was actually in tears when i read it. Now when i am myself a father, i try to imbibe such values. For me, this is my way of paying tributes to the great poet on his birth anniversary.
I am sure you too will remember this incident. May i request you to share your feelings as well on this incident.
In the same interview, he had also mentioned, that many critics have often referred to my son Amitabh as ‘Na Bhooto’ and many have even taken the courage of confering on him the status of ‘Na Bhavishyati’.
I look upon these statements as a father’s love for his son. Its so pure.
With this i sign off here, hoping to continue our conversations in future.
Warm regards,
Mukund

I have checked and found that the HBO documentary ‘Terror in Mumbai’ will air at 9AM on Sunday morning. So I will definitely watch it. When I thought I’d have another paid vacation before the end of the year, the idea crossed my mind that I’d love to go to Mumbai and Goa. When I mentioned Mumbai to my father, he was not happy about the idea of me going there. But hopefully I can make it there someday.
I hope your morning hasn’t been insane.
Love,

Dear Amitji, Good Morning. You seem to be having your plate full of work and commitments. It is a good sign and you should enjoy the situation. Sitting in sun and writing invitations is better than sitting in the sun and reading news papers. Making low budget and meaningful cinema is certainly a good hobby or work. I always believe in challenging creative brains of my ordinary people. They do deliver when you pose a challenge. Same way your ABCL can give more of Paa. Saa Re Gaa Maa Paa….list of selections can be endless. Completeness of a task brings in more tasks. Value for money and money for value come from working within confines of our creative talents. So your rush hours are also good for us because we get motivated.
I was seriously thinking to retire and rest. After reading your blog and writing on it I too think of doing more professionally. I give time to my ordinary semi educated work force and put extreme challenges in front of them. While asking them to do I break the tasks in simple jobs and step by step people do it. Finally when the end product is made I tell them a small secret. No one has made this till now and you are the first. Rather we are the first. Then there is immense satisfaction of teaching people to fish instead of feeding fish.
Paa is an experience for you despite your many years in business of cinema. So when I read your small tasks on blog daily I can imagine where such steps will lead you to one day. More importantly your son and daughter-in-law. It is easy to earn more easy to loose and difficult to protect one’s successful accumulation of life. When you work hard even now you are working towards that final security. Nothing wrong in becoming an Auro once in a while and sometimes AB or Anita Bachchan sorry Amitabh Bachchan ultimately will prevail. Like the moon in the sky comes out finally from behind the clouds.
My regards to those who create experienced work force. Those who create Auro and show how creativity seperates them from the rest.

Dear Amitji,

My dearest Mr. Bachchan,
First of all, my sincere apologies for having been unable to connect these last two days - the children were home for the week end.
Thank you, very very much for the videos of PAA - I’ve said this from day one, since the promos were out - if this is the effect of just a glimpse of Auro, I cannot even percieve the riot he is going to be creating once he shows all of himself! Ooooohh!!!! You have changed the way people will think of cinema now. You have set standards which may never be able to be equaled ever, in the celluloid world! Unless ofcourse, you better yourself, yet again - like after Black, we had thought it couldn’t get better than this, and now AURO has proved us wrong!!
News of the snake found in your chalet was a little disturbing - but I suppose, given the environs in which BB3 is being shot and palyed out, this would have come about sooner or later, specially with the rains having resurfaced again…..the only precaution one can take is extreme care and I hope that the security personnel would be more vigilent and sanitize the place, just before you are expected to be there for the shoots! It is God’s grace that the reptile was spotted and removed before it could have been unwittingly disturbed and be provoked into causing grave damage, to you or anyone else!
You are clearly in the middle of many things at the moment - last minute preparations for the premiere of PAA, your dear Father’s 101st Birth Anniversary celebrations, BB3….watching you deal with all this, from a distance, I can only pray that may every drop of your sweat and tremendous perseverence, translate into a never-before-seen/experienced success of each and every of your ventures! As far as BB3 is concerned, I am told that Colours have achieved what they had set out to do - target the 35-45 yrs plus audience! Well, they certainly managed to have me interested enough not to miss it - though I must say that those intermittent ‘beeps’ aren’t very effective -the viewer can clearly hear and understand what s/he was not supposed to have, and this gets to be a trifle unsettling…maybe our age has everything to do with it??!!
I leave you with loads of our love and good wishes for the imminent release of PAA and for all the other occassions, for which you and the Family are preparing on a war footing!! And more than all of that, I pray that may your health sustain, and keep good, so that you are able to savour and enjoy every moment of your assured success!!
Love and God Bless,
Always,
Kashmira

Dear Amitji,
Thanks for all your wisdom. I can feel the goodness around.
I wish everyone gets more wisdom even if they have not yet got wisdom teeth or even if they have lost their wisdom teeth so that there would be more happy moments and wonderful relationships everywhere.
We wish more courage to the unfortunate ones of 26/11.Below is what I read and want to reproduce here for everyone on ‘wisdom’.
There is one quality that improves with age. That quality happens to be a wonderful virtue. It is wisdom.
Wisdom encompasses other virtues.
Wisdom incorporates other virtues that are essential to happiness. A wise person will have embraced principles of love, service and concern for others as a part of one’s life. These are the essence of success in human relationships. A wise person will have learned that.
Also, a truly wise person governs his or her own life according to high standards of human conduct. Thus, being wise means having learned to be good. Not living by the truth one knows is to be a fool. Wise people have excellent character.
Sp.Regards
Mario

Dear Amit Sir, reading your blog is like a ritual, may be a feeling of meeting and connecting with you which may not happen in person in this life! …though i still believe that dreams do come true. Read about your list of invitees …yes i hope not forgotten to invite anyone and everyone, …even Akshay Kumar and Salman Kkhan and salim and Javed duo ……..as i really did not like the episode in the past when everyone and somehwere i also felt that this not my AMitabh Bachchan, when many were not invited and even the masses on road felt a bit let down as shown on TV because our Amitabh Bachchan is not like that - hope my and our believe stands …
all the very best,regards,Shivani

Your anguish for Big B for not participating in panel discussions as requested by Rajdeep Sardesai or Arnab Goswami is not correct. He has already expressed his views in detail many times in this very blog on the horrific event happened on 26/11/08. He has also contributed in many ways to lessen the grief of people affected by the incident. His solemn advice to family of this blog has been not to do anything which creates ill-will among ourselves.
I think he has always refrained from participating on panel discussions on TV particularly on the political/national issues. That does not mean that he is indifferent to the society or the national. He is patriotic not less than anyone else. He is sensitive to the issues more than all of us put together. He is doing his best in his own chosen field and through that he is setting example for others. If your comments are only to attract his attention for a reply, you may succeed. But please do not comment without knowing others in full.
May God bless you always.

sir
Yes the 26.11 daily article on tv bring back bad memories, even the indian governemnt has come in with guidlines of what to show and what not !!!! they should have done this a year back when live coverage was seen by the helpers of those terrorist and helping their cause, too little toooooo late done
Any scope for any of the EF to be part of the premiere, you did give a glimmer of hope but since then, no updates, advice please
Why would you write an article for Times group ? These guys run you down from Economic Times to Times of India, it seems they have no shame to come to you for an article, what happened to their stupid articles on you ????? You did also protest on the economic times article on diminishing brand power of Ab acc to them an dyou gave a detaled reply for which they did not have the b… or guts to reply back
Looking forward to YOUR PAA 28.11 celebrations and it will be treat to watch the entire family tree under one roof, keen to see and hear Ajitabh Kids as not much of them is seen or heard
All the best for Paa, i guess promo level go to a new level now as now under 2 weeks to go for the release
For the EF you should arrange for some passes, HOW , WHO , WHEN , WHY gets them is the answer to which only you can give, i guess a LUCKY DRAW FOR 50 EF MEMBERS is the way out ? or some other means, but EF has earned the complimetry pass for sure, just FEW will be / should be luck to get to see the movie with you, not sitting next to you, that shall be asking too much, but under the same imax roof for sure, advice please
Love you
Manoj
Shri Harivansh Rai Bachchanji – 101st Birth Anniversary – Respectfully
28th November 2009 proudly marks the 101st birth anniversary of
Respected Shri Harivansh Rai Bachchanji
He has inspired millions of people all across the world with his humble yet empowering poems that reflect the greatness of his nobility and creative brilliance
He was the legend who characterized the eloquent expression of words very most succinctly that have carved a phenomenal niche in the hallmarks of poetical recitations
The legacy of his vision is being carried forth with pride and respect where the hallmarks of time gracefully acknowledge his erstwhile contributions to uplifting the versatility of poetic literature and particularly for his emphasis on the vital importance of the moment; each and every moment remarkably
Shri Harivansh Rai Bachchanji sought to communicate the tremendous importance of each and every jewel of moment; the moment; each moment encompassing the more meant of the moment; the priceless moment is truly all that we have can cherish
It is inspiring us to live in the now with complete awareness and consciousness; being attentive and diligent; prudent and wise; being meaningful and responsible in the now; the now of the moment is the know of the moment; being aware – being consciously present in the now is heralding the magnificence – the virtual essence of life
Respected Shri Harivansh Rai Bachchanji as the humble tributes of your Respected Family along with Millions of your Admirers are being expressed, we humbly look upon your eminence with profound pride and admiration wishing you peace, love and happiness always; God Bless
Shri Harivansh Rai Bachchanji, the wonderful person who invested his meticulous efforts; taking phenomenal initiatives by enriching our realm with thoughtful knowledge and a quest to keep inspiring the universe with our meaningful, purposeful, responsible and sincere endeavors consistently with meaningful consistency
When I think of Shri Harivansh Rai Bachchanji the greatest compliment that could ever be given to him is to resonate the versatility of his brilliant character and attitude whereby he demonstrated to us that to live life is to live a life of purpose; a life of meaningful values based principles embracing the completeness and beingfulness of life that we truly are
His inspiration keeps on resonating the cherished adage that will keep echoing alongside the hallmarks of time the amazing principles from amongst which the following proudly represent infinite thoughtfulness namely the following
Repeat form the above; Shri Harivansh Rai Bachchanji sought to communicate the tremendous importance of each and every jewel of moment; the moment; each moment encompassing the more meant of the moment; the priceless moment is truly all that we have can cherish
This encompasses much more significance within itself rather than just a symbolic representation alone since it seeks to inspire us to recognize the strategically vital importance of time; that in this moment, there is a wold of moments unleashing its brilliance infinitely
We can seek to bask in the glory with awareness or ignorance; the choice is ours; where would we wish to be in our lifetimes is very much associated with the moment; the moment by each precious moment reflecting the infinite brilliance of time and its amazing characteristics proudly
This is humbly seeking to inspire to invest in life meaningfully; purposefully; respectfully; responsibly and sincerely; enhancing the scope of each and every moment by utilizing it constructively and responsibly with due diligence and prudent acumen
Each and every moment is absolutely magnificent and extremely precious; Time and again, each and every moment is seeking to inspire us to constructively utilize our time spheres in adoption, pursuance and implementation of meaningful and responsible objectives with due diligence and prudent acumen
The above is seeking to refer to time respectively; Time is what Life is made of; The preciousness of time is truly beyond compare; Time cannot be purchased or bartered for or exchanged; Once time is gone, it takes along with it much more than time alone
Time represents the greatness of evolution; The passage of time remarkably describes the hallmarks of time with its own unique characteristics very most amazingly
Time represents its outstanding nature with a versatility that expresses brilliance in each and every moment very most prolifically; The footprints of time at times stand apart posthumously and cannot be compared with what has elapsed or what will evolve further ahead respectively; Certain times are truly incomparable
Time represents commitments we make with ourselves and others; The representation of the commitments reflects upon the importance that is accorded to the credentials and credibilities of life respectively
Paraphrasing the above in the following few words; it is the Moment in Time; the Time in the Moment; what we do with it is entirely upto us at our discretion but the inspiration will keep evoking our awareness to consciously utilize our moment – our moments with a meaningfulness and thoughtful consistency responsibly
Shri Harivansh Rai Bachchanji – Respectfully
We are all proud of you and respectfully salute your notable and prestigious accomplishments from amongst which time and again; over and over again the pivotal importance that you sought to emphasize namely “the moment” – the preciousness of the moment will forever seek to inspire and guide us amazingly; God Bless
This moment is our life; this life is our moment; the moment in the moment is infinitely filled with completeness and wonderfulness of our true selves and our true nature respectively inspiring us to recognize the purpose of our life; to be true to our purpose; to ensure that we live a life of purpose; a life of meaningful values based principles in each and every moment responsibly and sincerely
Thank you very much, Aapka Dhanyavaad aur Shukriya, Shri Harivansh Rai Bachchanji – Respectfully; we are very much grateful to you for your thoughtful inspiration and guidance; May God Bless you with peace, love and happiness always; God Bless
Love, Light and Wisdom,
God Bless,

Hello Sir,
No one can forget, 26.11.08…..our soldiers gave their life to save the people, that’s why we also say, “Anekta mein ekta”…..
Last year on 26.11.08, we launched our company Hozpitality.com in a 5 * Hotel (Raffles) here and it was an auspicipus day for us, we had a press conference in the morning and then extended the afternoon with the presentation to all the Hoteliers…..The Director of DTCM( Dubai Tourism, Govt.) came for the launch and it was really a big day for us……we were happy and excited to call back home in India to inform our parents about the Launch.Didn’t know what all is happening in India… as soon as we reached home, saw the news, it was really sad, some friends called over to ask the launch and they also talked about Mumbai attacks….it was really scary and sad……we were watching news again and again to see what’s happening, all the radio channels in Dubai were also giving the latest updates from Mumbai……we salute to our brave soldiers….Jai Hind, Jai Bharat…
Love and Regards,
Vandana Bhatt, Dubai, UAE
Hi Mr Bachchan
Hope my mail finds you in the best of your health and spirits.
26/11 is something we would never forget and forgive and not only on this day every year but each day in our lives we must condemn such activites.I think if we change our complacent behaviour then that would also contribute to the big change.
All the best for the premier of PAA.I read an interview of yours in LT and Abhishek’s in hindi edition of hindustan.
I am so impatient to see Auro in the big screen.
I have predecided to watch at least two times in theatre nor matter what.
Take care
Love & warm regards
Priyanka.
My sweetest love to Auro.
Respected Sir,

Warm Regards
Navinder
you rockk….paa will also rockk……..
Mr. B,
Just returned after watching ‘Kurbaan” , excellent movie but depressing;probes into the mind of a terrorist who in the name of Jihad and Allah is brainwashed into committing those horrible atrocities on unsuspecting ,innocent people and heaping sins on himself thereafter, awful mentality , honestly its too sad.Karan Johar has done it again as it was running to a packed houses.
The movie has left me extremely gloomy.
Hope u enjoyed ur Sunday as i take ur leave now, take care.
A back to back post again today - and for which I ask your pardon and seek your patience and your grace, Mr. Bachchan! But given the depth of bonding which has developed on this Blog - and the entire credit for this goes to you - I cannot but address and thank our EF.
So, Dearest Anu….I read what you had to say yesterday, and trying to be as brief as I possibly can, I would just like you to know, that we have not only acknowledged each other, at the soul level, we have heard each other too! It was a beautiful experience for me to know how you and the others percieve me - and my only plea and prayer to Him is that may I never fall short of your expectations. And yes, we shall go on this pilgrimage to Shirdi…Inshallah!!
On behalf of the rest of our loving and caring EF, I wish you well and good tidings for the medical procedures that you are scheduled to go thru this coming month! May He Hold you in that moment, and return you to your loved ones and to us, safe, sound and brimming with wellness! Take care my dear!
P.S.: on a lighter note…you truly and completely evened our score, Anu!! I was ACUTELY embarassed too!!….but happy, all the same. Thank you once again.
Anita (Day 577): I was pained to learn about your indisposition. I hope you are healing well and swiftly! We hope to hear that you are well and strong and on your feet again, real soon. And please do not strain yourself while in bed - one split moment of incorrect posturing could put you in unnecessary agaony! Thank you for caring so much even though you are in a painful state of being yourself, at the moment! God Bless!!
Sharmishta, Tehreem, Archana (Bengaluru), Yours Truly, Daksha, Vikas, Daisy (your assumption of what I had written in Roman Hindi was very accurate my dear!), Rupam, Saroj, Zainab, S Kh, Ramanathan….thank you all ever so much for your magnanimity in joining hands alongwith me, in prayer, for the well being of our Dear Anu. I am sure He will listen and answer our prayers in that, her surgery goes of smoothly and she returns to her loving family and to us, well, happy and completely healed!
Lily, sweetie, I am sure your blessings will reinforce all of ours too, for Anu - it was awfully sweet of you to connect like this - bless you ever and always, dearie!!
My hellos and love to the rest of our EF too:

Dear Mr. Bachchan,
Commemorating 26/11 to pay tribute to the martyrs and remembering those that lost their lives is indeed commendable. But what is not so commendable is the tokenism that has come to be associated with such ceremonies.
Regards,
Melwyn
Dear sir
No doubt you are remain sane because you have accomplished all this glory by extraordinary devotion and thru hard labor and remain as simple ordinary people.
praying for your more strength to do more and more !

Hullo Genius,
God created the world from Monday thro Saturday, and rested on Sunday.
So we must all do that… it is rejuvenating…. sounds like a sane piece of advice from a confined to bed person… well, life is like that
when one is unhealthy and unwell and defies nature’s laws, Nature has its own way of forcing the much needed rest… so, whatever will be will be.
dont bite more than you can chew, do what you feel yourself competant to handle, and what you enjoy… leave the rest to time…
a thing about snakes… they say if you dream about them it is auspicious, if they are found in unnatural surroundings, there is hidden treasure…. so next weekend do look for the hidden treasure….Saturn’s blessings
you are busy and i see are responding to the bare necessity/ ies. so it is pointless to remind you that i share my birthdate with your respected father. it is also pointless to ask you if you recd. my hand written birthday note to you handed over at Sopaan. It was so much easier to get an auto personally from Raj Kapoor ji, Johnny Walker ji, and Asha Parekh ji when I was a little girl
anyway…. whatever will be will be ….. utna hi upkaar samajh koi jitna saath nibha de, janam maran ka khel hai sapna, ye sapna bisraa de.. koi na sang chale,, man re tu kahe na dheer dhare…… remember this verse from Chitralekha rendered immortal by Rafi sahib and so true….. unparalleled in Hindi cinema
i close for now, with love
i think i will have to give up my dream og the big cup of tea
Good Evening Mr.Amitabh Bachchan,
Today my daughter showed your blog to me and I was really glad to find your website. It gives me great pleasure to be able to communicate with you or so I hope!Don’t know whether you have that kind of time to read all these mails!Anyways,I was growing up when you were the angry young man,THE superstar!I remember,my father being a great fan of your’s.He took pride in the fact that you were from U.P.and made it on your own in the film industry.I have watched most of your films, barring a few, like Mard,Coolie etc. Some moments of your films have stayed with me till now,and have become,as if,a recognition of that particular film.e.g.saw ’saat hindustani’ when I was nine, and the last scene, where you get on to your badly cut and tortured feet and say,’ham hindustani rengte nahin..’has stayed with me.The scene from’reshma aur shera’,where as a dumb, naive villager, you cry and scream, asking Rakhi’s character to kill you,is another one such unforgettable scene.More recently, the scene in ‘Viruddh’ ,your character, after John Abraham’s,who plays your son, death is trying to go back to the exercise routine, where you raise both your hands and laugh for health, became really difficult to watch, for both me and my daughter. How alive all your performances are,is remarkably gratifying to see.I haven’t mentioned’Black’here.Another touching performance,to say the least.I’ve enjoyed watching you in Mr.Hrishikesh Mukherji’s comedies,in’Aalap’which had lovely songs.I wish, these films were shown on tv too and the new generation could watch’Saat Hindustani’.Now the promos of’PA’look so promising.Looking forward to it and also many many more of such performances!Last but not the least,I always enjoy listening to you when you speak in Hindi. It’s absolutely unaccented and shuddh.A very good day to you Sir!Shobha C.
Sir,
Since abhishek is turning producer..let me take this oppurtunity to request you to lookinto a script that i have in mind.A mega movie with 3 centre characters.I plan to cast amir, shahrukh and salman.i have a bound script..screenplay.very tight budget…..no outdoors….i promise if given this oppurtunity and if you assist i promise to can this subject in 45-60 days.
it can be a production house of your calibre that can help me get this idea on big screen.
I donot have a film background or any formal technical education but last 20 years i have been a keen on all kind of film making…….
please take time and look into my matter.

Hi Auro,
You look good….we are coming to meet your PAA surely on Dec. 4th…
Love and Regards,
Vandana Bhatt, Dubai, UAE
Great of you Mr B to mark respect to those who lost their lives in 26/11.You are the only bollywood actor who is capable of this. You are a motivation for a billion people and the strongest public figure in India. The way you have reinvented yourself and even at this age you are working more than any young actors around. One more suggestion in Big Boss you are great but how about doing KBC once again. There is still lot of public craze for that serial and it surely would rake up high ratings Are the producers listening.Get Mr B back in KBC and it will rock. All the best for Paa premiere .
Of course,Your Paa is a cool guy because His Paa is too Cool guy !
VERY VERY VERY VERY NICE AURO NEW PIC
WE LOV U AURO.GOD BLESS U SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH

Sorry, there are many mistakes in my first comment !
Dear Amitji,
Hectic days! And only some time back you were pining for these days. Enjoy the busyness! 26/11 was truly harrowing and in its wake brought out the inadequacies within the system. Question is what have we done to change this or what are the learnings? The commomeration should dwell on this and take steps towards being better prepared for breaches such as these. PAA is becoming a cult! Makes sense to involve children affected by progeria in the premieres. Looking forward to your article on power of entertainment. Many in EF can help you on this if you wish so. A few points from my side :-
1. Entertain probably has its roots from the words enter and attain. Any act which catches the attention of the target people and holds it can be called entertainment.
2. For entertainment to be powerful the only method is to concentrate on contents. The presentation skills, communication efficiency, choice of medium and technology can only accentuate but not compensate for effectiveness.
3. Confused creators have mixed shock value, crass, terror and the nauseating as tools of entertainment.

VERY SHORT , MOST EFFECTIVE AND HOW TRUE
“Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the air. You name them - Work , Family , Health , Friends and Spirit and you’re keeping all of these in the Air.
You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back.
But the other four Balls - Family, Health, Friends and Spirit - are made of glass. If you drop one of these; they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered. They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for it.
Yours as always

Really sad day 26/11/08, horrific trajedy.
Can’t wait for the 4th December to see you on the big screen Auro. Careful about the Cadburys chocolates - too many not good for your teeth!!! (I notice they are slightly crooked already - thumb sucking
I am so happy that Big Boss 3 is a huge success. Hoping that PAA will be the biggest success ever and the re-launch of AB Corp Limited takes off smoothly.
Loved all the promos and the website is fantastic. I see that the monkey dance is being ‘aped’ by all.
My cousin’s wedding this week, so busy with all the functions related to it.
God Bless
Love and best wishes

My beloved Mr. Bachchan,
First of all wishing you loads of luck and bagfuls of energy for all that you have on your plate. I know you love being busy and complain quickly about lethargy when you have nothing to do for a day or two, but all that you have been doing since the past months is definitely way too much. I am happy that you have been able to accomplish all your commitments and are a much needed man, but PLEASE do not forget to breathe and take utmost care of yourself. Your health is my biggest concern, so please be cautious. I find myself asking “HOW?”
The efforts being made to commemorate 26/11 is commendable, but the larger question to be asked here is: Has our government really improved in caring about the security and well-being of it’s people? Are enough measures being taken to see that something so horrible isn’t repeated? I hope so.
I recall the events of 26/11 and a cold shiver runs down my spine. I remember sitting before the TV with tears running down my cheek while I saw my beloved Bombay under siege. It pained my heart to learn about the innocent lives that were brutally taken and the constant questions that my husband asked each other about what action was being taken next and how much longer will it take before the hostages are saved. Sleepless nights and endless worries about folks back home were the agenda of the day. May God bless the souls of those who were so mercilessly taken and bless the families and survivors with fortitude to move on after those tragic moments.
PAA will open to “HOUSE FULL” and the reviews are going to be mindblowing. All those who return home after watching “Auro” are going to need a long, long time to digest the fact that it was YOU. So sit back and relax (!)…Does that word even exist in your dictionary???
:)
:) :)….. PAA is going to be a HUGE success and I am going to join all the other in dancing the monkey jig.
The 28th November will be a special day for us too as we remember a Father who gave the world the most wonderful human being I have grown to love. Thankyou for all your love and in exchange all I can offer you is:
EVEN MORE LOVE-Lily D’Penha-Frankfurt-Germany.

Dearest Mr Bachchan
Just finished listening to your interview with Raj and Pablo on the BBC Asian Network… it was just beautiful.
The sound of your voice always sends me into raptures, but amid my delirium I think what you were saying was fabulous too. Made me want to see Paa more than ever.. no that’s simply not possible… I am already in agonies of impatience and anticipation that simply could not be any greater .. but so sweetly and gently you increased the curiosity and desire to see PAA finally on screen .. the whole story.. and as you describe …. a really touching, happy, loving, deeply human father and son story… not an ‘issue movie’.
And I did adore your one-liner on why people should go to see the film: ‘It’s got Abhishek and me in it” ! YESSS! You were being playful with the interviewers but these are the two best reasons in the world!
Wondrous mention of your devotion the Blog too!
But please do care over the next 12 days… I have to agree with Jasmine from London that you are looking weary in the recent clips I’ve watched. her words ‘looking as if you have the cares of the universe on your shoulders’ are haunting me.
With love from Daisy
Dear Amitabh,
It’s really huge picture.
I can not believe it’s you!
Looking forward to see the movie.
Love you very much.

Hi Mr Bachchan,
Pl look into the voting process of Big Boss. We had voted for Vinod Kambli but the votes rebounded and did not register. I am sure there is something amiss and some sort of rigging is going on. There is no transparecy in the mechanism, specially so as the process is called Desh ka faisala…….
Two big fat kisses for darling Auro one on each cheek, and a cadburys slab too.Love.Lovely photo.
Fond love and regards to Zainab, Kashmira, Aish ,Vikas (Kuwait).

dear amit ji,
do you think that the recent attack on media at mumbai by shiv sena is right?
what they are going to proove.
will they ever be able to shut down the democracy’s mouth.
people like you should condemn this type of activities .hope you are in good health.
Many have this holier than thou habit of mouthing platitudes about an issue of such deep, gory, proportions ,like terrorism, but what have they done to address such an issue? Mere empty rhetoric, and pulpit screeching speeches wont resolve such an issue ,it takes much much more than meets the eye, its a grave danger we all are facing and no one has the answers to it is what i feel Heaven help us.
Regards and love to you Mr.B.
PS Along with your interview, the BBC presenter mentioned PAA’s release date of December 4th over and over again … so good work there!
Love again, Daisy

My dearest Amithji,
Finally the picture is showing!!! Morn, when I opened my laptop, thought there was something wrong with my laptop! Thanks for a different picture of Auro! I simply love the name Auro! Boy!!! what perfect make up. Even looking at auro minutely, cannot see ‘Amithabh Bachchan’ in him! This is as far as the picture goes! But have to watch the film, PAA, to comment further.
Right now, while I am typing this, I can just imagine the huge crowd in front of JALSA. And I am sooooooooooo remembering my encounter/adventure last week. Nov 15th is one of the most memorable day of my life!
26/11 , such a tragic day! A shiver goes down my spine when I think about it. I was glued to the TV for 4 days. I stay about 6-7 kms from Trident, & I remember that our whole area was soooooo deserted, hardly any traffic or anybody on the road. Everybody were indoors , obviouly, glued to the TV.
My heart goes out to everybody who lost their loved ones, & especially to the manager of Taj , Karambir Singh, who lost his entire family , wife & two sons, in the blaze that happened at Taj. I can only pray that God give them enough strentgh to bear the pain.
Bye for now,
take care,
My love to you always,
kalpana kakade
Hi Auro,
I luv’d Auro in the promos…am eagerly lookin forward for its release…the way ur so excited about Auro tells me that u’ve enjoyed playing this role to bits…:)!
(I can undisputedly say that somewhere this 12yr old Auro has overshadowed Amitabh Bachchan…) - “I luv Auro”!
lots of luv,
Aanchal
My dearest Mr. Bachchan,
Sincerely hoping you are well today and taking good care of yourself amidst your exhausting schedule. Simply being tired and under pressure for sustained periods of time is likely to weaken your momentum and make a tough situation worse! Its kind of a pity all these events are concentrated over such a short period. Ideally, you should have been permitted to enjoy your father’s birth anniversary and the Paa premier, without sundry other concerns. I always mention this but delegating laborious tasks like the guest lists and invites - suerly that could be outsourced to an events company, not left to our poor overworked Mr. Bachchan!
Anyway, an article on the Power of Entertainment, is an all encompassing kind of title and likely to be challenging to condense it into newspaper format I would say. The title actually reads like an essay question for a Media studies degree, given that it is open to argument! I have no doubt you are capable, it is the time and attention you are short of. Perhaps the Times Group would allow you to do this in interview format?! It would spare you a lot of thought and labour and at least the structure will not be a concern.
That interview, with the BBC Asian Network, the one I have been harping on about since your trip to London, was utterly worth the wait. A very and thoroughly detailed chat in general and of course the section on Paa covered most areas of interest from the make up to the music and your blog compulsion - again! Your answers were text book perfect as always and much more relaxed than at other times. The slot was divided between songs, so you actually ended up with over 35 minutes of air time, neatly wrapped with ‘Udhi -Udhi Itefaq Se’. I had envisaged that song may become a radio favourite, because it certainly is one of mine! Apparently the duo who took your interview are currently in Mumbai and will also be interviewing Vidya Balan, so more Paa talk is to follow for us over here!
The best of luck as you continue giving these interviews with Auro, I hope the chocolate keeps coming as does the interest in the him and the film. The picture on the face page is the closest we have been to Auro and isn’t the make up just outstanding! Those protruding veins look perfectly real. I would never guess they were painted on!
Onwards with my Sunday in a wet, windy and grey London so I will wish you a wonderful evening . Please take care Mr. Bachchan and try, if it helps to focus on the completion of all this work, and all you stand to achieve by the end of it. As always we would much rather you rested than wrote detailed blogs if you are tired, so please don’t feel obliged as you very sweetly confirm you do in all your interviews!
All my love as ever,
Jasmine
xx
PS: Apologies, the missing word in the second sentence of my third paragraph was ‘enlightening’. ‘ A very ‘enlightening’ and thoroughly detailed chat..
xx
Auro you have grown up fast. Eh! looking for some more girl friends!!!!!!!
Want more cadburys for your bigger belly?
You will get everything ;first take permission of your Paa. You have already spoiled your teeth as everyone here is bribing you with chocolates. How many chocolates Jasmine Jaywant of NJ offered you for striking truce with your Dadaji? Did you eat all the chocolates yourself or offered some to your lovely girl friends?
Please do reply Auro if you expect me to bribe you with some new cadbury chocolates.
Now be a good boy ,go straight to your school without staring at charming faces and trying to engage them in conversation.Naughty boy!
YOURS LOVINGLY,
YOUR DADAJI’S BAAP
Dear Amit Ji
I am a sports fanatic …..have been one since i was a toddler . Have always tried to promote sports till date. In my fanaticism i came across a maverick brilliance when i was about 10 years old ….i had a very good understanding of the word ‘ Talent ‘ and i knew this little kid ,who was about 3 yrs older is a real “Talent’. The person in question is Vinod Kambli. That such a talent went waste is another story but my fascination for his brilliance will always remain. The reason for me going to Pune ,for studies , was that he resided there. After trying many times i finally met him at his residence one day and after that i met him a few more times and we became friends . During vacations i used to carry stuffs for him from Assam ..Gamochas, the famous assamese Japis and of course assam tea.But then he shifted base and from then onwards i have been trying to contact him but apart from glimpses on TV i have not been able to contact him . I would like to use this platform to pass this message to my friend Vinod that please get in touch with me , always cherish those moments i spent with you.

Dear Mr. Bachchan,
May you always be blessed with abounding energy to do all the things you do and want to do .Aapko mera salaam :)>
Some days becomes affixed in our psyches . 9/11, 26/11 are two such among numerous others and to let these days pass withot a rememberence of those who lost their lives would be sad. These were ‘collective’ tragedies which shook entire Nations and the need of the hour is to pay homage to those who were murdered and those who were killed trying to protect the citizens of Mumbai.
After 9/11 the US govt came under a lot of fire for disregarding warning signs , for failing to ” join the dots ” which may have prevented 9/11.It is only now, 8 years after the tragedy that justice will be meted out to the masterminds . Have we learned anything from these events ?
We are perhaps as unprepared as before and as vulnerable as before. There is no way that a Govt can ensure that all of its citizens will be safe all of the time.
It takes but one single-minded individual to create havoc .
A terrorist is not born but created , they say.
Can a few million people , single-mindedly , root out the circumstances which create the terrorist, the disenfranchised, the have-nots ? One can’t blame any ” ism” ; be it capitalism, communism, socialism or what have you..One can’t even lay the entire blame on poverty, illiteracy, religion, race. Perhaps we have to look deep into our own minds and souls to get to the answer. What is the tipping point that will transform an otherwise average person into a murderous zealot ?
Dear Sir, when apt, will you post the poems of your father and Prasoon Joshi you have mentioned above. This is certainly the time to hear those who can inspire , those who try to make sense of our very purpose to exist.
Much love .
Dear Amithji,
My advanced wishes and prayers for “PAA”; I am sure this is going to be a super-hit movie. Look forward to watch the movie.
All the best SIR!!
Harish
Dear Amit Ji,
Greetings!
Although I have not read much, whatever I have read from your father’s compositions are excellent. Hats off to the Great Man!
I remember you mentioning one of his composition, last year on your blog, which meant ” everybody is invited but nobody is awaited– swagat sab ka, nahi intzaar kisi ka (something of this sort). Can you kindly tell me the complete composition from which this has been taken OR can you reply back with the complete prose, if possible.
Thanks in anticipation!
Warm Regards
Dr Vikram Sabharwal

Dear Sir,
You wrote :
“How on earth one individual shall be able to accomplish all this and remain sane…”
But then, you’re not just another individual.
You’re AMITABH BACHCHAN!
And you’re AURO!
So you can do all these…. and more!
We’re all geared up now and are really looking forward to PAA!
And also to your father’s birth anniversary and to Madhushala!
And we also want to listen to your part of the 26/11 recording!
And we also want to see more & more of you in BigBoss!
Plus of course we want to listen to your rendition of Prasoon Joshi’s poem…
…in its bare & stark resonance - as in a hollow studio!
Please put it up on the blog.
With love & regards,

Hi Sir,
Need to know your views if possible, why do we forget our past so early? 26/11, why do we have to wait for the day to remember, people we’ve lost, just because they are not directly linked to us, (I mean with direct relation, chacha, mama etc) do we have to appoint a day to remember innocent people we’ve lost. Can’t we just take out the day out from our life and never remember it again, simple erase it from our memory?
And our media, so conveniently showing reports of our miserable security situation in our country? We live in this country, please be sensible and cautious enough of showing miserable security conditions, to so called extremist? When our media will become little more sensible, and show some maturity? Worst, thing is I am seeing these reports in Dr. Roy’s news channel.
Shame on our media,
Pranay Gupta (New Delhi)
