God: Hello… Did you call me?
Me: Called you? No… Who is this?
God: This is GOD. I heard your prayers. So I thought I will chat.
Me: I do pray. Just makes me feel good. I am actually busy now. I am in the midst of something…
God: What are you busy at? Ants are busy too.Me: Don’t know. But I can’t find free time. Life has become hectic. It’s rush hour all the time.
God: Sure. Activity gets you busy. But productivity gets you results.
Activity consumes time. Productivity frees it.
Me: I understand. But I still can’t figure it out. By the way, I was not expecting YOU to buzz me on instant messaging chat.
God: Well I wanted to resolve your fight for time, by giving you some clarity. In this net era, I wanted to reach you through the medium you are comfortable with.Me: Tell me, why has life become complicated now?
God: Stop analyzing life. Just live it. Analysis is what makes it complicated.
Me: why are we then constantly unhappy?
God: Your today is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday. You are worrying because you are analyzing. Worrying has become your habit. That’s why you are not happy.
Me: But how can we not worry when there is so much uncertainty?
God: Uncertainty is inevitable, but worrying is optional.
Me: But then, there is so much pain due to uncertainty..
God: Pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional.
Me: If suffering is optional, why do good people always suffer?
God: Diamond cannot be polished without friction. Gold cannot be purified without fire. Good people go through trials, but don’t suffer. With that experience their life becomes better not bitter.
Me: You mean to say such experience is useful?
God: Yes. In every term, Experience is a hard teacher. She gives the test first and the lessons afterwards.Me: But still, why should we go through such tests? Why can’t we be free from problems?
God: Problems are Purposeful Roadblocks Offering Beneficial Lessons (to) Enhance Mental Strength. Inner strength comes from struggle and endurance, not when you are free from problems.Me: Frankly in the midst of so many problems, we don’t know where we are heading..
God: If you look outside you will not know where you are heading.. Look inside. Looking outside, you dream. Looking inside, you awaken. Eyes provide sight. Heart provides insight.
Me: Sometimes not succeeding fast seems to hurt more than moving in the right direction. What should I do?
God: Success is a measure as decided by others. Satisfaction is a measure as decided by you. Knowing the road ahead is more satisfying than knowing you rode ahead. You work with the compass. Let others work with the clock.Me: In tough times, how do you stay motivated?
God: Always look at how far you have come rather than how far you have to go. Always count your blessing, not what you are missing.
Me: What surprises you about people?
God: when they suffer they ask, “why me?” When they prosper, they never ask “Why me”. Everyone wishes to have truth on their side, but few want
to be on the side of the truth.Me: Sometimes I ask, who am I, why am I here. I can’t get the answer.
God: Seek not to find who you are, but to determine who you want to be. Stop looking for a purpose as to why you are here. Create it. Life is not a process of discovery but a process of creation.
Me: How can I get the best out of life?
God: Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear.
Me: One last question. Sometimes I feel my prayers are not answered.
God: There are no unanswered prayers. At times the answer is NO.Me: Thank you for this wonderful chat. I am so happy to start the New Day with a new sense of inspiration.
God: Well. Keep the faith and drop the fear. Don’t believe your doubts and doubt your beliefs. Life is a mystery to solve, not a problem to resolve.Nice ! Got it on my mail and instantly felt it needed an audience !!
So.. apart from a hugely spasmodic morning in the region of the back and a restraining mobility, everything else was.. well.. ‘hunky’ ! I am leaving the ‘dory’ bit out deliberately, because it wasn’t. Meaning it wasn’t all that good to start of with, but there is nothing that can keep an intense dosage of pain killer-shiller-diller, down. After its consumption therefore - doc’s consent sought of course - the world suddenly started rotating on its axis again… would you believe it !!
“KILLER-SHILLER-DILLER”.. was straight out of nostalgia. Delhi University campus lingua ! 1958 in the Univ Cafe ! Just behind Miranda House.. ya.. THE Miranda House..the ladies College.. and outside which ,most of the University hung out ! It was an expression for the dude that walked in wearing Wrangler jeans - a rare speciality those days - his copy book folded and immersed nonchalantly in his hip pocket, shirt tucked in casually with the collar up, curled locks falling on the forehead, the pointiest of shoes on his swaggering feet and the most desirable Miss Miranda beside him !!
How we envied those guys !! They had the knack, the guile and the guts and the following, to be able to achieve what they did in those three years on campus. And we’re not necessarily talking academics !!
What a following they had ! The girls hung around them because of who they were. The guys hung around them because the girls hung around them ! What times ! Miss all of it now all over again and wonder if we could get an opportunity to relive them. Not for the following… naaa… that came later, on its own.. but the atmosphere and the life we existed.
And the ‘following’ too came not because of ourselves, but of what people perceived us to be through an image on the screen. It was natural then. Now it has many ingredients, active ingredients !!
Following… well.. ok.. I shall concede came from the results of acceptance of the character in film. So, alright you did something that surprised some of them and they decided to like you and admire. But that comes with limitations. You hit the ball out of the park and they are there. You stop making those home runs, they stop wearing your logo peak caps ! Rochelle, must be loving this bit ! Ya baby ! We love our cricket, a delusional mirage for you, despite Daisy M’s valiant effort in spelling it out ..BUT, we also catch up with the odd game of baseball, Cyclones and all !!
Ok.. back on the pitch and out of the dugout !!
Following !! Yes, it has been an experience for most of us. And a joy that it still weathers some stormy years, to be with us. The Sunday crowds, the blogosdom and the odd ones here and there. Most of them possessing great potential for humor.
On the flight in to Singapore on SIA, charming Indian air hostess looks after you with that extra courtesy and smile. Some others working at the back, come in too, to seek autographs and the digital mobile photographs. A few fellow passengers send in requests for a signature on boarding passes. The Captain wishes for one too. And he is not Indian. When all the fuss is over, male Singaporean steward walks up to the seat, leans across to me and wispers -
“So, when are you running for President ?”
I smirk an embarrassed facial contort.
Out as the doors of the plane open, helpful ladies and gents guide and escort you to the buggy. Such a relief. Changi Airport is a city by itself. Immigration personnel look at you with delight and recognition. Seek autographs. Male Singaporean steward standing in the crew queue a long distance away from this VIP DIPLOMATIC EMBASSY serviced immigration formalities lounge, gives that knowing smile and gestures -
“When…?”
Funny guy.
Some more staff and officers join in. Now I’m really looking important. A host of other passengers taking mobile shots and shaking hands. Volunteers helping picking baggage off the belt, loading it on trolleys, rolling them out for us.
Customs. And stern looking uniformed officer, stretches out his hand. I, smile on face extend mine.
“No !”, he clips, ‘your passport !”
I hand it over to him, suppressing a sheepish one-upped embarassment.
“Step to this side, sir !” , the uniform commands and leads me away from gleaming entourage.
Smile now decidedly vanishing from face I follow instructions. Never mess with a cop in foreign land !
“This, this and this” he dictates, choosing three pieces of ’suspicious’ baggage from well looked after trolleys.
“Open”
That was still the uniform eh ! Just in case you thought it was describing expression of my mouth.
I did the needful. Rummaging took place. Nothing drug infected was found. And without closing them up the bags were dismissed back to the trolley, with a terse, “Thank you !!”. Ok that sounded soft. It wasn’t. It was -
“THANK YOU !”
Tails between our weary and track panted legs, we hurry out.
Male Singaporean steward, loading his bags on to van, now wishing to change his earlier statement !!
Did someone say following….?
Amar Singh ji recovers well. I spend all the time with him and tell him of the concern shown on the blog for his health. He wishes to read all those comments. I assure him that I surely will arrange. As he rests in the day I drive around a few spots. They are busy out there in the streets and everything is within walking distance. Its inspiring. And I try it out. Take all the instructions from the wife, who along with son and bahu has been here for a while and ‘knows’ the terrain. Helpfully she draws out a diagram to follow, as I venture out to go back to the hospital. I am by myself now. Just me, my sneakers and the hoodie slung over the shoulder. Out on the streets ! Quick references to the drawing from wife. Right out from the gate, main junction right again, left and there right in front, the hospital, she had calmly explained. I do exactly that. I am happy. I walk alone. No one interested or giving that look of recognition. O boy ! This is the life ! On the footpath. Quiet and alone. Not a soul around. Some traffic passing by on further road. And then… the sudden sound of running feet from behind..!!
It is dark. That stretch of the pavement is filled only by me.
Every perceivable image of all the action movies seen and enacted, rush past the brain in anticipated fear !
And then in most dramatic angry young man, VIJAY DINANATH CHAUHAN mode.. I turn to face the oppressor -
A breathless lady running up. In sandals that threaten to come apart. Panting and excited she blurts -
“Amitabh ji…Amitabh ji… I just had to shake your hand and take a photograph.. I was driving by and noticed you from the car.. and I told my husband it was you.. he never believed me… this is my son.. can we have a photograph please… we’re such big fans of yours..I am from Pakistan.. please.. could you.. what are you doing here walking all by yourself… where is your security…
CLICK ! CLICK !… thank you… just out for a stroll.. thank you..
And off. Off rather rapidly towards the destination in diagram from wife. Ah ! there it is, I mean thats where she said it is. I look up. After walking for half an hour, I am back at the spot where I started from !!
And ladies and gentlemen of the EF, do not ever find fault in directions given by the wife. Because… THEY ARE ALWAYS RIGHT !! End of discussion !!
As I stand there bewildered and helpless, a car window rolls down and gentle Sushant, a young man from Mumbai, working in Hotel Management here in Singapore for the last one and a half years, wonders if he could be of some assistance.
I am back where I stay. I had been dropped off by dear Sushant and his friend at the Hospital. Masked faced we have spent time with AS, done some more photographs with staff on floor, staff of Malaysian Royalty, who serve and guard their master also admitted at the far end, photographs and hugs with a whole community of Bangladeshi’s there to be with a relative having stomach problems, eaten some home cooked food and deciding to not strain the back any further.
The DAY ends with some concern for Maharani Gayetri Devi of Jaipur. She is quite unwell and has been admitted to Hospital. One of the most beautiful women in the world, a friend, a gentle and generous host to me on several of my trips to her beautiful palaces, now caught up with age. My prayers for a speedy recovery.
Love
Amitabh Bachchan

Hello Dear Sir, Lovely to get this new post. Hope you are feeling better. Pray your pain never comes back and hope your friend is also getting better. Pranams
Sir,
As a matter of fact, any color can be used for Croma Key. Blue or Green are commonly used in films or TV only because they are least like human skin tone. Whatever could be the contrasting color with the foreground subject can be used as background color for Croma Key processing. Blue background can have issues with close up shots of a person with blue eyes. A green parrot can not act in front of a green background, and so and so forth.

You seem to have my sense of direction. Yes, I loved the baseball talk from you and especially the Cyclones. Believe it or not, I must leave work now because I got a last hour break and I will comment further later. (I can’t miss my cab to the train.) They didn’t question your dog collar at the airport?

Move over Khans, there is no matching Bachchan just yet
- by Padmanabhan S 18 Jul 2009
When you talk of silver screen, it is not that silver alone counts. There are gold and bronze too. Amitabh has never belonged to silver or bronze. He belonged to the precious element, i.e, the gold, from the time he made his debut in Hindi films in Saat Hindustani. For the second and third place, it should be a toss between Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan.
From the days of the Angry Young Man to date, Amitabh has shown his mettle all through. He is more flambuoyant now than before. In Ek Ajnabi, his acting was fantastic. Neither Aamir Khan, nor SRK nor any Tom, Dick and Harry would be in a position to match Amitabh in such roles, when they grow up to his age. That shows that gold is gold and that it is quite different from silver, bronze, tin, copper or aluminium.
Amitabh is the greatest ever actor since he started to prove himself on the silverscreen. If there were anyone who could be rated above him, it must be from the lot, who preceded him. Say, for instance, Ashok Kumar, the unparallelled king of Indian cinema. Even Rajesh Khanna in his haydays, was more popular than Amitabh during his days, but the former failed to carry that charisma to his later years of his career, while Ashok Kumar remained the best ever till he breathed his last.
Thus, comparing a great with the less endowed natural talent would be an insult to the former.

Hello
Daily during my prayer time, I fervently pray first for everyone those who are suffering. Then I talk to God and thank him for all that he has given me and ask him to take care of those gifts.
I have many wants but I refrain to include them in my prayers. HE knows my needs and provides them for me.
The other day I received an email asking me to pray for one NEETHI GEORGE. Just after her Class XII exams she was diagnosed with cancer and that too at the terminal stage. Her results are out and she has passed with flying colours–96%. Her aim is to become a doctor! Her physicians have given up hope.
Hope all visitors to your blog read this and pray for Neethi. God will definitely not ignore those hundreds of prayer requests and there may be a miracle. Neethi’s dream of becoming a doctor may be realised!
And of course you all will travel back to Mumbai happily alongwith Amarsinghji!
Oh dear… that is a very interesting post.. loved the conversation ( me & god ) .. loved it so much.. thank you for sharing.

Hi,
How r u?
Today with two friends we were delirious, we had a fit of the giggles: we imagined a story with at first one basic and normal situation then each added an event to obtain at the end nutcase’s story:D we imagined to make a film and we even made the casting:P, naturally we kept a nice role to you :)))) the problem is that the story is so far-fetched that we managed to classify the genre; drama, comedy, sciences fiction, historic…, the most importing documentary it is that we laughed well
I wanted to say that before reading the post
bye and goodnight!

Dear Sir, Thank you so much for sharing THE TOTAL RECALL with us. A very interesting story by Mr.A Goswami.
It was down the memory lane for me as these were the movies of 1970’s which I had gone to see with both my parents, when they were alive. They had enjoyed Abhiman, Anand, Amar Akbar Antony and many more. The songs, the scenes took me back to Baroda, where I had spend those lovely days with both of them.
The story of your accident and the moment of your illness, and Jayaji saying that he just moved his toe, Oh!! can you imagine what they must be going through. The collapsing of your business also brought tears in my eyes. It is a very inspirational story about what you have gone through and how you fought back, and where you are now. Thank you for sharing these stories with us as it gives us strength to bear the pain we go through, in our lives and has taught us never to give up in life!! Thank you so much Sir. You are a university where there is always so much to learn and put into practice. Thank you for sharing these interview with us and answering so many questions which come in our life. You show us the path. We pray that the Almighty looks after you and you keep looking after us. Jayaji has also gone through a lot. Bless her. Pranams to you, your family and all EF.
GOOD MORNING SIR!
MAY YOU ALIVE FOREVER.WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH.

Dear Sir,
I am really a big fan of you. Since one month now I am reading ur blog and now I became addict to it. You have really a good writing skill sir.
Lots of love and all the best wishes
Abhay.
Hello Sir AB
wonderful piece of dialogue and day description of yours.
Arent you having too many nostalgia’s these days?. and mind you that you are as old as you speak about it. Look at so many holly wood actors, they never claim to be old and after some time their age becomes static!!.
Take good care
My beloved Mr. Bachchan,
Delightful, enjoyable post today. I recognise that wonderful mood you are in, once again…….and notice they often come on your trips off indian soil! The reason probably being that you can remain “incognito” even if it’s for a short while unlike when you are in India and obviously unable to walk the streéts like the common man/woman does.
Your experience with the customs officer was hilarious. I could actually picture you standing there and this stern officer who was not impressed with all the hoo-haa and fuss around you. Had a hearty laugh going through the account. Too good.
Oh! The encounter with Sushant, or rather Sushant’s encounter with you was so sweet. Sushant, how I wish I were you! Imagine him telling his family and friends that he gave the one and only Amitabh Bachchan a ride!!!!!!!! The only reaction that he will receive would be….”Yeah, right”! What do you dream of at night? I am sure this is one experience that he will cherish forever. I know first hand what it is to spend a few precious moments with you. Yes, that is what they are and remain “P R E C I O U S”. An experience of a lifetime!
Regarding the part where “Wives are always right” THANKS! Nothing more to say.
;)
;)
;)
Wishing you quick relief with your neck and looking forward to more joyful, happy posts. Of course, I am all ears when you don’t feel ok too, but love to see you happy. YOU’RE HAPPY; I’M HAPPY.

Dear Bachchan Saab:
Sirjee, Please please be very careful when you go out alone not just here but any part of the world. I know anything (bad) can happen anywhere even while you are at home but “caution” costs nothing. So plzzz. And thanks a ton again for posting the precious videos from Times Now…..just loved them and enjoyed them thoroughly. All the past images since childhood just went in front of my eye one by one ( I m March 1972 born; mentioned about it in details in post 162 yesterday after watching the videos; not that I want you to read that post but just reference, I m a PhD by profession so just accustomed to reference at times). Realized how much we all love you days after days, years after years and decades after decades. As Balki (Director) mentioned in the video, YOU belong more to US (us not USA) than to yourself. Though I agree to him but guess there is a thin line in between that we shall always respect. I had mentioned in one of the post long back about Abhi’s bearded looks for long but must say he looks cooool now (not that he did’nt earlier but a change was long due). Awaiting new releases from You and Abhi. He ROCKED the IIFA performance this year, was simply superb!! You take care and be safe. Love you always. Our prayers are always with you and your family (Amar Singhji included), love, love and love - “Rishtey mein to hum aapke fan lagtey hai, kattarr fan, aur naam hai, Altaf Philadelphia waley” (nahin saab jee hum mumbai se hai), allah-hafeez!
Wow… what an interesting conversation with God. I often wonder, if I ever come face-to-face with God, how would I start my conversation. But your blog entry for the day has erased my doubts because God knows everything about me. I wont need to tell him anything. Thanks for sharing such wonderful articles with us. Wish you a speedy-recovery. Oh yeah, before I forget. I would like to share something with you (may not be important for you because there may be 100s like me, but for me there’s just 1 superstat ever). OK here goes. During the days when we plan our careers, I always wanted to be a journalist so that 1 day I would be interviewing you. Thats all I ever thought of. Here’s hoping 1 day we could have a live chat with you. Sorry for the long comment. Good luck for your recovery.
There is one road sweeper called ‘Acchamma’, very poorly paid by the muncipality. She only speaks Telegu. She is dark-complexioned and has shining white teeth. She has the most beautiful smile. She must be having innumerable problems. Though I know her from the last five years, not once she has spoken about her problems to me. She always smiles. Sometimes she asks me for a glass of tea and I prepare it for her happily. I respect her for she has taught me to smile. Whenever I feel ‘low’, Acchamma’s beautiful smile comes to my mind and I smile too!
I wish we could all be like her and learn to smile.

Hello Mr Bachchan,
It’s been a long overdue- Wanted to suggest acupuncture or acupressure for your back pain. I had them too and was completely bed ridden for a month or two however, everything changed with acupressure for my lower back. Now, since I am in the US I took to acupuncture for my neck pain.Completely treated with no recurrence and no medications.
Trust me it works wonders. Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!! Now of my chest…I don’t have to feel guilty anymore for not taking the time out to tell you.
Take Care

Sir,
I am sad to know from your post about ill health of Mahrarani Gayatri Devi of Jaipur.
There was a time the Maharani was the most photographed woman in the world. While studying in UK in 1940s, she could hardly walk on the streets without being followed by Paparazzi.
Her Royal Highness has been witness to so many diversed eras from her pre independence princely life to post independence humiliations. She has been a Princesses in true sense. I do not have remotest of connection with her or with Jaipur, but I feel had the princely states continued post-independence, the ‘praja’ would have been much happier as compared to what they are today under impoudning self styled modern prince & princesses in Delhi.
I wish her a fast recovery.

Dear AB,
I am sure all gents EF along with me sulking at U! This post is full of Rochelle(no surprise there!), Daisy M, wife and college girls….U seem to be tilting towards that gender…Aah don’t forget that finally a male species came to rescue and dropped U at hoapital! Other species made U walk in circles and still U been keep deserting mala species! Even in the poll U found ONE CORRECT ANSWER FROM CERTAIN FEMALE SPECIES DAISY M-ever worring about your dog, cat, pillow, health and everything about U!!!
Amar sing had stood by U in your ABCL crisis unconditionally and had set an example of true friendship. U both are fortunate enough to have each other. It’s replay of celluloid story in real life-a rare occurance. He is fighter and doer and can’t be confined in four walls by anyone/anything.
I had purchased book on Maharani Gayatridevi, when were on the wonderful trip to Rajesthan on Palace on Wheels. We had lunch at Umaid Bhavan,a beautiful palace in Udaipur ( i think) and that is where I bought her book.
Pray to the Almighty for her. Hope she recovers soon. Pranams.
Dearest Amitji,
Still reading the blog, well read it in parts since rushing to go out to help out a friend for a big get together tomorrow but thought I`ll drop in a line anyway.I`ll be coming back to post again. This one is in a hurry.
It was quite funny the way yo described the whole going for a walk episode and not arguing for the directions with the wife.hahahaha!
How sweet of Sushant and his friend to drop you off.
That must be a peaceful walk no one bothering you for anything….. until of course the Angry young Man” Vijay dinanath Chouhaan” came in the picture.Too cute.
Okkkkkay…gotta go but not for long….
will be back,
Rani Kothari.
ya ur chatting is good,i think its for me…..yes people are mad about u ..even if i will meet u i will want to watch u many hours live..with my eyes .like sushant i will also want u whatever help u want with me…
Dear Amitji,
Is it a coincidence or what? Just last week I borrowed your sort of photo biography book “To be or not to be” by Khaleed Mohamed from the National Library here in Singapore and now you are also in Singapore while I’m reading that book.
I have started reading the book as and when time permits me. The book is one such master piece. Jayaji gifted this book on your 60th b’day and I think she couldn’t have got better gift for you than gifting this book. Specially good to see childhood photos of half panter Abhisek and shweta. Your emotional snaps during the bidaai of Shweta are really touchy. Also, your snap with Jayaji in royal attire just in the beginning of the book is also too good. This book project you as a larger than life persona and I think hardly will disagree to your that status.
I really envy that guy Shushant and pakistani lady who could see you in front of themselves, they could touch you, they could take snap with you perhaps a life long memorabilia for them. I am also from Singapore and hope I get to see you in person during your stay in Singapore. Perhaps tomorrow I should wander around the hospital just to catch the glimpse of Super star of millennium.
Hope you enjoy your time here in Singapore. Good wishes for Amar Singhji for speedy recovery.

Dear Mr. Bachchan,
You are going to turn me into a nocturnal being like yourself! I was always in the 300’s in the EF row of comments!! I can’t believe all I’m saying is 32 right now!! :):) Got lucky eh!
It was fun reading about your S’pore escapades!!! & had such a laugh about the map!! I don’t believe I would have even dared to venture into map making territory! My family calls me Marco Polo since I usually reach every place by virtue of discovery and not because I have any clue to where I am going! lol! :):)
Please do update us about Mr. Amar Singh’s condition. Wishing & praying good health for him!
Also if you do get around to some picture taking in S’pore please do upload would love to see them!
How I wish to bump into you someday like that…sigh sigh!!
Love & Best Wishes,
Mussu
why are you always bragging about people meeting you?
Oh I forgot to mention that I absolutely loved the conversation with God article & I can’t believe my entry ended up on no. 64 in the few minutes I took to type…!!!
Love,
Mussu
Dearest AB sir,
i find no words to comment on your blog.. it is undescribably facinating to be part of your day/life through the blog.. an amazing belssing to all of us to be able to connect with you.. I am in USA and I (like everyone else) hope & wish to be lucky enough to find you walking by yourself and then offering you a ride back to whereever you want..
Lots of love & respect,
Manish
Dear Bachchan Saab,
I have got to incidents to narrate from my last visit to Singapore, which gave me a sneek peak into the ‘following’ that you enjoy in that land. Believe you me, every word that I am going to write in 100% true.
1. It was the year 2006. I was at Orchard Road, Singapore. I just walked into a Macdonald’s outlet for a burger. The lady at the counter recognized that I was an Indian. She said, “You from India?”
“hmm…Ameeta Bachaaan, Kabi Kushi Kabi Gam (apologies for the deliberate misspelling, that is exactly what she said )”. It was a proud moment for me to know that my idol is recognized even here.
2. There was a Singaporean lady call Lindsay, whom I happen to meet at Singapore. On learning that she has seen some Indian movies, I asked who her favorite actor was. She said, “mmm the one with black hair and white beard. He is sooo handsome!!”. I told her he the king of the film industry….Amitabh Bachchan (I am sure I got the spelling right this time).
Regards,
Bunty
sir i want to know about ur days when u were struggling for ur successful life .have never felt any problem..did u never took the help of anyone to move to this position u r now in…….everybody needs some hardwork, some good luck …for success..and also some support or help of big persons?!!!!!!!!!!
Hello Sir,
It was a great conversastion ( me and GOD) , it motivates, inspires, but it is very difficult to apply because when tough situations come, every thing disappears. it was amazing to know person like you ( so busy , popular ) giving this important lines to us.(perhaps) Because of your deep thinking ,GOD has put you on the top ,still in this age.
regards,
bhupesh
What a collection of lovely stories .. unable to comment on one in particular! Are the anecdotes and the FABULOUS mood the result if the pain-killers I wonder!? Hehe..
The female’s sense of direction has never been in question Mr Bachchan…it just took you a while to figure it out..and the hard way too it appears!! ; )
Back soon after a proper read …
Goodnight for now…
Much love as ever..

Dear Amit Ji,
Your today’s post is absolutely great. I have been to Singapore only once and relived the memories through your blog. Thank you so much.
You may enjoy the following. With Prayerful Love, Satya
An old Italian lived alone in New Jersey . He wanted to plant his annual tomato garden, but it was very difficult work, as the ground was hard.
His only son, Vincent, who used to help him, was in prison.. The old man wrote a letter to his son and described his predicament:
Dear Vincent,
I am feeling pretty sad, because it looks like I won’t be able to plant my tomato garden this year. I’m just getting too old to be digging up a garden plot. I know if you were here my troubles would be over.. I know you would be happy to dig the plot for me, like in the old days.
Love, Papa
A few days later he received a letter from his son..
Dear Pop,
Don’t dig up that garden. That’s where the bodies are buried.
Love,
Vinnie
At 4 a.m. the next morning, FBI agents and local police arrived and dug up the entire area without finding any bodies. They apologized to the old man and left.
That same day the old man received another letter from his son.
Dear Pop,
Go ahead and plant the tomatoes now. That’s the best I could do under the circumstances.
Love you,
Vinnie
It is so lovely message that you post tonight!!! So affecting , deep, elegant and weightless! Bravo! Shabash!
Love your tender and sparkle humor . Keep writing! Please! It’s such a pleasure to feel your breathing mind!
A lot of Love! You are ,some how, very young!

I am fond of you as a person moreover than a star.I blv in the real life but then dramas are imposters from real life only.
I belong to Jpr and you by now must have had got the info about Gayatri Sahiba’s health stability.
This is for the first time that I am reading ur blog, it was really nice to go through the answers that I have been trying to find these days.Shukriya
Almighty has blessed me with almost everything I prayed and wished for…and one of my deepest desire is to meet Amitabh Sir to grab something from his strong, powerful, charismatic persona, whom I blv. I do not know whether Amitabh Ji will read my entry or not or whether I will get a response…, but I am sure I have the power in me to meet you when I strongly decide and desire, by luck or chance or whatever.I seek help..advice just if I have my try on it.
I wish your family remains in ties of love and affection always.
Wish u a superb day..and warm wishes for your friend.

Shilpa.
Amit uncle,
I simply can’t thank you enough for today’s blog.. I really needed an inspiration like that today. I,like every second student today,am preparing for IIT JEE. The things are so damn difficult and there’s always So much to study that I can hardly see how to manage everything.. I get frustrated at times n sometimes depressed when nothing remains under my control.. I simply sit down and cry..
But today I realized why God puts problems in our path.. I understood what problem really means to Him. It’s not going to decrease my workload but atleast I’ll get some mental strength to face the struggles in life.
Your struggles and achievements give me strength to not lose all hopes in life..

Re-Hi
ha ha ha, so you’ve played bad guys that police believe they are in “Don” or “The great gambler”
Dear Amitji,
Thank you for the conversation with GOD. Guess what is showing on telly this evening? - God Tussi Great Ho!
Liked the chiller, shiller, diller flashback. You must have looked so dashing!
Have you seen Ice Age 3d? Just seen it this evening with my daughter, Mum and sister - it is AWESOME, Mindblowing, so funny. Do see it if you haven’t already.
Glad Amar Singhji is recovering well. Of course the WIFE is ALWAYS RIGHT!!!!!
Nice that the family is together. Love to all.
Love you lots, Good night and God Bless
Take care of your health too.
Love and best wishes
Sangita xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
luv u loads sir
Excellent piece of writing!! Do you do this often in foreign countries - go out for a walk by yourself? If yes, hope to see you strolling around Auckland someday so I can catch you for a photograph
Cheers,
Shiv
A very good conversation sir…
Its inspiring…
Thank you very much…
me again! not sure if you remember… the one that never writes in but I can assure you that I read your blog everyday … one of my guilty pleasures!
Last year on this day I was heading to your concert in excitement… when will we see you again in Canada?
Oopsie! Sometimes I wonder why we get so selfish at times..!!
I prayed to God today for your speedy recovery n also for Amar uncle and my grandfather (he has suddenly fallen alarmingly ill). But selfish me! I forgot to ask God for the people I don’t know..like Maharani Gayetri Devi..
When something goes wrong with the people we love, every other thing goes out of our mind.. But still, that’s not an excuse.. I pray God gives special attention to all those who are suffering today..both,people I know and people I don’t know.. Hope everybody is blessed with good health..
Anyways,I think I must go back to my studies now..
Thank you again for today’s blog…Thank you!!
Love,
Ishika
Dear Amitji,
It is nice to see you going out in Singapore, without much of a pain- although, it seems you took pain killer too. How is your back pain and stomach pains now? Nice to read the plane journey and ofcourse, a scare by Air port security asking you to open your bags!!! Then of course, your top “conversation with GOD- ” that is really worth reading. True in its sense. I am sure, Rochelle is extra happy to read her name in your blog!! I am glad, Amasingh ji is getting better. people who met you there are really lucky- once in a life time experience!! I loved the “total recall”- learnt a lot from those clips and a commentary from you.
love
Ashesh
ok, officially jealous of Rochelle and Daisy…
Good Evening Amitji,
I had a great day at the Ashes match at Lords. Almost got a full day in and the Aussies are on the rack for a change.
I knew that even in Singapore you would be recognised. There is not a single country where you are not recognised sir.
Funny about the map directions, of course the better half is never wrong as we all know.
Good Night,
NB
hello sir,,
i’m yet an another big fan of you sir…
love the way you look forward to life sir,,
sir one question sir,,,
Are you feeling disturbed with the huge fan fallowing that you have got ??
any way our prayers are with you sir….
jai bharath..!!
Dear Mr. AB,
Funny story and so hilariously told about your customs experience; none too rare, though. Perhaps the officer had a fight with his better half in the morning and needed to feel important somehow, somewhere and you happened to be the perfect-looking victim.
I find the easiest way to survive my usual 10-12 hour flights is to turn myself consciously into a sheep. I follow instructions, never object to anything, I shuffle along with the other sheep and occasional bull terrier, I eat and drink what is given to me and firmly keep my brain along with its vulnerabilities hidden somewhere inside. Only to be revived when I see my family at the other end.
This is not good news about your back pain coming back, I guess we were hoping you had gotten past the painkillers. Take care of yourself please.
So many people to wish betterment for, on your blog and in the comments; almost daily we are confronted with a big slice of human suffering. That’s where the conversation with God comes in, to help us put it in perspective? Is there a perspective? To be accepted? Really?
Love,
Renate
Pranam Amitji,
In every country the law of labor market is different. Such as in USA it is hire and fire policy. World Trade Centers were our prime pride in business world before 2001 era. After the painful destruction of World Trade Centers it was decided that we as an american will rebuild the WTC and continue living our dream… Govt started recruiting the offices spaces….SO the government decided to collect the inventory of its precious building blocks not just brick and mortar but intangibles as well. ….. Since WOrld Trade Center as the name implies, occupies the presence of multiple nations from around the globe and as the labor law of each countries are different, such as USA having hire and fire methods, govt decided to recollect the method of each countries choosing of labor law. Govt sat down and asked each and every country representative to deposit certain amount in case they terminate the employee and does not pay then govt would interfere and do the necessary for the employee and the method of their terminating employees. These method of termination and the money was put into then museum so people would know what to expect…..
First USA national came….. Govt :-> What are you putting down and method of termination……ANS: $1M and Fire
Second Poland National Came…..Govt:-> what are you putting down and method of termination…….ANS: $100K and Sword
Third Chinese National Came…..Govt :-> What are you putting down and method of termination……ANS $500k and Kung-Fu
Fourth Australian National Came….Govt:-> What are you putting down and method of termination……ANS $700K and beat them out
Fifth Singapore National Came….Govt:-> What are you putting down and method of termination…… ANS $800K and draw them a map and let them walk away
Sixth Indian National Came…. Govt:-> What are you putting down and method of termination………ANS: huuh Likho bhai likho humara….KYA?…..CHAKMA
Just chilling with you nana….,
Sanjay Patel
It’s not a case of wrong directions…its a case of the man NOT following the directions….whether they are driving or walking….makes no difference!!!!

Dearest Amitji..my angel.. I with big interest have with enthusiasm read “conversation with God”.. Very pertinently and it is instructive, my dear. For the despaired people here a lot of instructive and right words.. And not only for the despaired.. For all of us.. Thanks you, Amitji… It really required an audience..
My worry by your morning back pain.. And again ‘killere pain’ “KILLER-SHILLER-DILLER”… Amitji. : ( For the first time I use such smail…my precious friend.. Be cautious with ”killer pain”, dearest!. But… if “the doctor has permit”, means it is really possible.. And it is necessary.. But sincerely I hope that all moderately..
Has interested your story how to you met and know.. The customs officer was unshakable? This such work by his, dearest ).. The question of the steward.. The amusing episode.)
Each time when I read about that as admirers learn you, their admiration and pleasure are transferred to me and I also test happiness, having pleasure from dialogue with you, my precious.. I Adore you all heart!!
How state of health of your friend Amar Singh ji and Maharani Gayetri Devi??. Sincerely i wish them speedy recovery..my dearest.. My prayers for their precious health and for yours also., my dear Amitji. Both my most sincere and kind wishes and warm greetings. Bless you God!..
With warmth, care and sincere love to you.. My embraces to you.. Yours devoted Lyudmila..
i love you……………..
Hi there. Very interesting post, however we may have to agree to disagree with a couple of the lines. Your definition of problems - while they may be temporary road blocks, they are not purposeful. People usually create most of their problems, sometimes knowingly, other times not. Also, everyone has a purpose. When God created all, he created them with a purpose. We just need to find out what it is and fulfill it. And the best source of finding your purpose is through God.
Take care and I wish you good health and strength.
Sita
Dear Mr B.,
That was a beautiful, inspiratonal email which yoou shared with us.
Good to know that you are with your family again.
Hope and pray that all those you mentioned keep well and get better.
Woke up to have a glass of water and couldn’t help myself. Had to read your post, getting addicted I’m afraid. Wonder what THE ALMIGHTY would to have say about this affliction. Probably ask us to be more moderate in our behaviour,’samatvam’ is a sorely needed quality, lacking in most of us most of the time.Rarely we do excersise this noble quality.
You go down memory lane and share your specially amusing ones with us. Nice.
About not arguing with the wife, I am sure the senior Mrs B.,completely agrees with your sentiment as do most wives, not to menton husbands.
Did not know you had been knighted , Sir. Please accept my congratulations.
Regards to you and yor family always, and to those of the EF, specially to Daisy M. and Rochelle.
Sir,
There was a great political figure in Orissa and in National politics by the name of Biju Patnaik.
Many of his deeds and his works are still unknown in the country.
He was a freedom fighter, internationally reputed Pilot, top industrialist, national leader and a great statesman in his lifetime.
The link below would be an excellent reading:

I want to suggest you to think about a movie after him.

Dear Mr Bachchan
Such a wonderfully funny and adorable blog today… especially your tale of going walkabout in Singapore… and your delightful encounter with a ‘mugger’. Mercifully the sound of racing feet (and even faster pounding female hearts) is not usually sinister…. it is the ones who creep up on you silently who have evil intent…. as many Londoners have discovered to their cost.
I am utterly addicted to exploring strange cities on foot… after years of practice I’m quite a good Girl Scout with a map (though it’s also fun to get enjoyably lost in safe territory… ) Oh it’s such a shame you can’t have Shanouk there to enjoy being able to walk the streets freely with his beloved master… and act as a bodyguard too. Walking with a delighted dog is truly one of life’s greatest pleasures.
So happy that you are able to visit your dear friend and see that he is making a good recovery. Friendship and loyalty… your devotion to these these bonds of affection is incredibly touching.
With love and hopeless devotion to you, Daisy
Dear Sir: Really loved todays post. Very inspirational. Sometimes a little help is needed to keep things in their proper perspective. Thanks to you, I have regained my composure (ref. comment #80). I have gotten over my previous attack of jealousy - mostly…

Hey MrB,
Haven’t been able to check up on you since the videos not uploading incident. SORRY! I had checked quite a few times that day.
Well I am glad to see that it’s working now. Will check it out ASAP.
I am very much surprised to see that you are in Singapore now. Pleasantly surprised might I add. As this means you are on the mend and probably feeling good to be able to finally spend time with AS. Glad to hear that he is getting better. This dog collar you keep mentioning, is it truly a dog collar or is it one of those spondilitis thingy?
I have so much to share with you but I think I’ll wait until you get back to Mumbai.
Have a lovely Singaporean time!
Love..
Shobita
Dearest Amit ji,
So you had your share of adventure while walking on the roads of singapore. Lucky is the lady and her family from Pakistan and lucky is Sushant bhai and his friend and all the crew members of Singapore Airlines.
Good to know that Amar Singh ji is recovering very well and you are in a very good state of mind (although you need to be careful about your health).
My prayers for the speedy recovery of Maharani Gayatri Devi of Jaipur, she is probably one of the most famous of the Royal families in India.
Will take your leave for now until morrow……
Love you

&
Glad that AMAR SINGH JI is feeling better ……….that is good news .
Well done SUSHANT ………..
Enjoy Singapore ……….
Sir,
Your conversation with God reminded me of a song you might find interesting. It’s called “Unknown Caller”. It’s by the Irish group U2 from their latest album, No Line on the Horizon. It’s written about a man who starts getting text messages on his dead cell phone from a mystery source…God.
I enjoy your blog very much and wish you and yours good health and happiness.
Christy

Namaskar Amitabhji,
Kaise hein aap? Feel very good to go through interesting descriptions of your day to day life. They depict all the minute details. What a capturing mind God has granted you !!!Amazing.
Loved to read your “Chat with God” very positive and powerful. But I ask one thing -must we always surrender to whatever comes in life without questioning anything or anybody? We always compromise accepting things and situations as DESTINY but don’t we have any contribution to whatever happens?
My mind does question that part, many a times and can’t find answers.
So sometimes not to fight against self.. i stop questioning.
But yes life and experiences surely are the biggest teachers. Can’t question that….
I have connected myself, with your blog, through Twitter that reminds me now regularly about it.Did well.
Have not re-watched your older movies since a long time.Need to watch all the potential ones again.Your acting has such an intesity and depth+your constant efforts to play your roles with total sincerity has brought you all the success one cannot even imagine.
I want to watch The Total Recall that I will do soon as that will help me re-capitalize your whole career again.Hope to have collection of ALL of your movies one day as Collectors Item.My husband appreciates very much your movies - Mukaddar ka Sikandar,Sharabi,Deewar and many of oldie-goldies.Want to do this for him, though we have quite a many of them but need to organize it all year-wise.
I am waiting for your Talk Asia interview that is going to be shown next week on CNN.Loved these lines of yours..
“I fortunately happened to be the actor that they chose to represent that kind of philosophy or thinking. And therefore I became a beneficiary.”
It reminds of Gandhiji as even then the whole Nation was waiting that someone voices for them so strongly that they feel represented.A true leader knows what his/her public is looking for.And YOU are one of those Amitabhji..:)
God bless you and the whole family. My sp. Pranams to Jayaji.
Shubh Raatri with Pranams.
Meena Popat from Manchester.
YOU SHOULD PUT A METER ON YOUR BLOG TO SHOW THE NUMBER OF HITS/CLICKS.
Dear Bachchanji
I am glad to hear that Sri Amar Singhji is recovering well after Kidney transplant. Please convey my best wishes to him. You are a great man. Inspite of your own health concerns, you travel to be with your friend during his sickness.
By the way, can you please write a few more lines about Sri Amar Singhji and his family and some tidbits about your long association. Please tell him that his Press briefings always provide some insights into the country’s current political machinations. After his illness, I misss his statements to Press (at least in electronic news, as I live outside of India). Actually, he can open his own Political Thinktank like in US. Further, he should consider giving lectures in Universities both in India and abroad. He is an honest, god fearing politican and a shrewd mind with good business acumen. He should not confine his base only to UP and UP politics but to national and international arena.
Thanks
Excuse for that I interfere … To me this situation is familiar. Write here or in PM.
Dear Amitabhji,
I wish I had the luck of that lady who ran into you in Singapore , got to shake hands & take a photo. Anyway ,hope all is well.Take care.
Rekha
Hi Amitji,
Oh, the male steward! Hahahahaha! His eyes were full of stars…right?
You are really a funny onbe. Or, at least, your stories are rich with humour and colour! I love them!
And, yes…the directions given by wives are always right. Beyond that, the choices and decisions made are always right. Every wife knows this.
Except here in South Korea…only the men here are always right.
Male-dominated culture…hmmmmm!
Wonder what the ultra-feminists would do here…
Love,
Leela
Oops!
Funny onbe=funny ONE.

Amitji,
I loved the conversation with God.
Awesome! I try really hard to ‘live life’, not ‘analyze’ it.
And it’s so true. Many complications arise when we try to analyze life instead of live it.
Enjoy your ‘quiet/alone’ time in Singapore.
Is a trip to Jeju Island, S.K. in your stars yet? It’s very close, you know.
Love,
Leela
Mr. Bachchan,
Thanks for sharing the conversation of God and Me. How lucky for the Pakistani lady and Sushant. You probably need a GPS or a Blackberry which will give you the exact directions. Jayaji may have given you great directions, but the luxury of freedom, not being mobbed may have contributed to being at the same spot. HA. Hope Amar Singhji is recuperating well. Take care. Love you, Mr. Bachchan.
Sujata.
Dear Mr. Bachchan ,
Very nice conversation with God. We spend so much time agonizing over who we are, why are we here, what is the meaning of our life that we lose the simple joy of living .
You were probably reading the wife’s instructions wrong
Love.
Hi Amitabhji,
Kool Story.Nice daily description.
Take care.
Pravin P Patel.
Toronto originally from India the great.
Dear Amitji,
Enjoyed reading the story about your chat with God, very inspiring and thought-provoking and seemed somewhat very appropriate at this moment in time.
How is your friend Mr Amar Singh doing? Nice to know he was pleased about concerned comments made about him, will definitely speed up his recovery once he starts to read them!
Venturing out into the Singaporean streets freely without recognition must have been fun but only short-lived – lucky lady from Pakistan, for spotting you! And your wife’s directions – okay, perhaps she got it wrong, maybe the one and only mistake she ever made in her whole life! But for one lucky young man from Mumbai who returned you back to the hospital, he must have felt on top of the world!!
It seems your pain is still there and only kept at bay by those painkillers. I shall continue my prayers for your swift recovery and also for your two friends. Take care.
With love,
Brenda
Was busy all day and have only just got round to check today’s post or yesterday’s post…it is now Sunday ….00.28 a.m.
You were in jovial mood. I also got an email with that story of ‘Me and God’. If only we as humans could drop the fear factor….??
I wonder if there is a city where you could walk freely on the street like any other person?
Hope Mr. Amar Singhji is doing well. I am sure your company will speed up his recovery.
Sorry to hear about Maharani Gayetri Devi. Hope she gets better soon.
Hope your back will feel much better by the morning.
KInd Regards
Rajesh
Dear Amit jee,
Its the very first time i am reading your blog, for the matter anyones blog, Its quite intersting… I mean knowing the world from such a big & famous celibrity, coz earlier, I think we use to get the information only from gossip mags or news paper & they use to dictate the personality of the particular person, which I think was not fair for the person as well as for the readers. I hope God had this facility for us, so we dont have to be dependent upon the Big industrlists who owns the media & are responsible for most of the bad doing in the world, coz now a days most of the companies only work for very big profits & for that they are ready to sell anything specially their concience, which has the lowest denomination as value($$$). In my school days(St.Pauls, Ambala City) we use to have a subject called Moral Science, which i think was really a good tool to educate young generation, It really helped me. I think the ability to think positive is mostly learned from parents, if they fail then its the school, after that the friends, if they all fail the poor kid has no option but to fall in the trap & by the time he realise its too late.
I would like to write more but I dont want to bore you, but if you would like to comment please do it will be very motivational for me to continue the conversation.
God bless you & your family.
Amitji,
Wow, what an awesome and long post…
First awesome convo with god, love to read these things…so motivating and definately a ‘Pick me up’..when im feeling down, do continue to share such emails and messages.
The account on arrival in Singapore and customs, really doesnt show too much different in checkin or checkout..the treatment seems the same..thanks for sharing..
Maharani Gayetri Devi of Jaipur. wishing her best in her health..I have seen pictures of her in her earlier days, she and Aishwariya share an uncanny resemblence, I had read somewhere that Aishwariya will be in the movie made on Maharani’s life, is this true???
I feel what you said about Actors getting special treatment is true, but we dont just relate to your character on the big screen we also admire the man himself in both real and reel life..I have been fortunate to meet you and from the experience I would say you are a thorough gentleman…I have met other celebrities that neither give the time or make the effort…which for fans is a real let down..but Amitji..your fans are truely more fans of the MAN himself:)
Hope your health is getting better, all the best to Amar Singh, on his recovery:)
All the best always
Kishore

My Dearest Mr. Bachchan,
Thank you for sharing this nice email, and this beautiful conversation with GOD. Such inspirational and insightful stories are favorites to me as they do help us develop a broader view and a deeper understanding of life.
I do wonder if a better and deeper understanding of life is possible as long as nothing is really absolute…but at least we might develop our perception and philosophy of our life in such a way as to live it with satisfaction and content.
I do believe that God always answers our prayers, but He has his own ways that might be beyond our limited understanding. We always expect our prayers to be answered and our needs to be granted to us directly, and sometimes we pray and ask God and wait to find whether He will answer our prayers or not, like as if we are testing Him. And if our desires are not granted to us we go like ‘now He hasn’t answered my prayers’. But actually He does, but in an indirect way, and even when NO is the answer it usually is a starting point to another thing, and might get us to think in a different way or to take a different road. And once my father told me that God is not to be tested.
you know Mr.B, now I feel like I want to tell you my little secret. It is through who you are on the screen that I got to know you…to love and admire you. I was a child of nearly 10 or 11 years. Ever since that time you have your place in my heart, but it is only recently, about 4 years ago, that I have started ‘following’ you. I feel happy and lucky that my ‘following’ has taken me to this connection with you, and to this blog through which iam getting to know you more, and my love, admiration and respect to you increase with every DAY.
I do follow you with passion and with pleasure…but without ever imposing my self…with restrain and caution not to ever disturb or annoy you.
It is interesting reading these nice college memories evoked by the talk about the “Killer-SHiller-Diller”. but i feel sorry you have to suffer this pain and pray you get rid of this pain and recover fully and so soon.
I am happy for you that you are having some quiet time for yourself in Singapore. it was nice reading those episodes you have been through in the airport and in the streets of Singapore. this interaction with the stern looking officer is really funny, so cute meeting with the lady running in sandals…and lucky Sushant to have that unexpected meeting with you…must have been a very nice surprise for him.
Great Mr. Singh is recovering well, iam sure your presence with him will be very uplifting and helpful for his full and speed recovery…and I do wish a speedy recovery for your gentle and beautiful friend Maharani Gayetri Devi of Jaipur.
Have a peaceful sleep & sweet dreams,
My love to you…and much more,

Dear Amitji, NAMASKAR.
In just a few words, everything written in the post is superb. Thank you really so much for giving gems everyday. Before blogging, were you writing diary? Command on language, selection of topics and selection of your favourites ROCHELLE, SATYAM & DAISY M - all excellent. There is strong competition amongst EF for the fourth place!
Kindly insert a piece of conversation with Amar Singhji in your next post, if possible. I want to see him in his usual self at the earliest. Raunak of political duniya and favourite of media should not stay away for such a long time. My good wishes for him.
I also pray for MAHARANI GAYATRI DEVI’s good health. At this stage and age, she still looks very graceful and charming. My regards to her.
And kindly do reply to Sonya # 66 to her following query :
“why are you always bragging about people meeting you?” She deserves your attention.
With love and deep regards, always.
sincerely,
vishan lal

Glad to know Mr.Amar Singh is recovering well…by the grace of god ,may he continues to….
I’m sorry, the custom officer was so stern with you…..i can understand how you felt at that moment….i’m quite sure he knows who you are….i agree he has to be strict, but, could have acted more polite with you….but , that’s life….some experiences only makes us stronger.
It’s nice to know you had this quiet and alone walk…until….the sudden sound of running feet…no matter what part of the globe you go treading someone will recognise you. That was very kind of Sushant to give you a ride.
I don’t know who Maharani Gayetri devi is …. but wishing she get well soon!
My love and prayers always for you, your wonderful family, and all EF

My dearest Amithji,
How are you ?
Glad to hear Amar singhji is recovering well.
What a hilarious blog to day! What a nice way to start my sunday!
The first thing in the morn I do is open the comp & read your blog!
Post my comment & then start my day’s routine work.
Today’s blog was a real treat. The way you described your walk alone on the pavements of singapore, I felt , I too was there beside you, like a dream , you know, watching you in motion!
The anecdote with god, filled with so many quotes, is a real gem! Thank you for taking the trouble of sharing it with us.
By the time you started acting in movies, the pointed shoes, curled up hair had gone out of fashion, is’nt it? Anyway the description of these guys was picture perfect! Strangely, for me , Deepak Tijory’s image came in front my eyes, from the movie, ”Jo jeeta wohi sikander” , Which starred Amir khan & ayesha jhulka.
Surprised to read that police officials rummage thru your bags too!??
Do’nt they know who you are! Where ever you go you are our unofficial ambassador of our country!
PRESIDENT AMITHABH BACHCHAN! that sounds great! yeah……….. why not , not a bad idea at all! Please Amithji, give it a thought. Do work towards becoming a president of our country. You are the right person with perfect vision for our country. you are sooooo dignified, well mannered, well read , well informed, tech savvy, highly educated, with a picture perfect family, you have all the qualifications & more to become a President.
Please take care , it hurts to know that you are still in pain.
my love to you always,
with regards,
kalpana kakade
Hi Sir,
Damn it…more than 160 comments and mine may be 160+…
Ha ha college days….actually in our college days we were (our friend circle) were quite confident of our ‘talents’ when it came to girls or chasing for them. We wondered even if some Miss gali, mohalla would walked to us she would have got bored pretty soon…so why put your effort in something far beyond your capability?? Like trying to become hero in Bumbai….though getting best actor’s awards in school.
Wife’s direction - well no point in not taking them but google map is pretty reliable too. Works well in US. No sure in Singapore.
Hoodies in S’pore and walk on pavement. Hats off to you. Take care of your back and neck…dog collar must be irritatinng. If pain is due to writing on blog then I would suggest to reduce its frequncy as it suits you. Certainly drugs can’t be a long term friend.
Hope all is well. Wish for recovery of your family -friend Amar singhji and others whom you mentioned in your blog.
Regards,
Abhishek, Florida.

Who is Rochelle ???
I am finally back from the you-know-what game where I was elated that the you-know-whos won using-yes-the home run ball many times. So now I can comment properly. Not only did your post show up ten minutes before I was to leave work, but my supervisor had the gall to come in and ask me questions while I was trying to post my comment!
For us nonbelievers, the word ‘God’ at the top can be substituted by the word ‘philosopher’ for most of the statements made.
I wish you didn’t have to rely on those painkillers to feel hunky dory.
I can’t believe that you were not one of those guys (speaking of hunks) with the women hanging around you in your college days. Were they all blind? And about the screen image, even the best acting can’t hide what is naturally there, your good looks. charm, and charisma. You are still hitting those home runs out of the park.
I have read several explanations of cricket. You can try to teach it to me until the cows come home, but the only way it will not be delusional to me is if I can have a real visual, not a mirage. I need to either watch a game while having it carefully explained or at least draw me a diagram, very slowly.
I would agree that one should never mess with a cop in a foreign land especially Singapore. While I was there for only a few hours, I just had to purchase the T-shirt that says ‘Singapore is a FINE city’ with a list of fineable offenses on the back. You can’t miss these shirts. They’re everywhere. I even made sure I didn’t jaywalk there between my flights.
I’m happy that Amar Singh recovers well. Please send him my best wishes also.
It was always a close contest of who had the worst sense of direction between my mother, sister, and me. My mother always used to joke that she couldn’t find her way out of a ladies’ room. I seem to have literally followed in her footsteps. Since we are all family, I’ll confess that I’m probably the only New Yorker who while trying to cross Central Park from West to East, ended up on the side I started at. Since then I take the crosstown bus!
I hope you wake up feeling both hunky and dory this time.
Love,
Rochelle
Hi Mr Amitabh Bachchan -
Hope you are doing well…
I was watching the IFFA awards and i listened to the song you sang. You have a gift. YOu could have been a very good singer and infact you are a very good actor. You have earned lot of fame and money. I am very surprise to know people like you who are gifted why they waste their time in blogging. You should be out there in the world helping people in need, doing charity, talking advantage of your fame and gathering money for charity.
Please Mr Amitabh Bachchan use your time wisely.
Hope you read my comment and wish you and your family the best.
Regards,
Your well wisher
Me: Thank you God for this wonderful person in our life
God: I know! and thank you too!
Me: Please keep him happy and healthy!!
God: I will !!! and that is my promise!
Haven’t read anything you wrote. Maybe I will eventually but I felt like connecting to you nonetheless.
Just came across some of ma’s things, the watch she always wore and here I am totally unglued. I miss ma so much that I can’t breathe……..
I apologize for unburdening on your blog, I am not a wacko but I can’t discuss this with dad. I can, with Amit, my hubby, and he tries to understand and is very sympathetic. But he is practical. He has made peace with God’s laws and accepts HIS ways. I am still rebelling. It has been a tough day. Please bear with me. I don’t want you to think you’ve got a mental case blogging you. I am fine it’s just that if only I could just tell ma how much I miss her, just give her a hug…
loveyou
Dearest AmitJi….
You may think that you dont need security but the world is a dangerous place, please take due care on this matter.

Whats all this about a remake of Agneepath. Suicide i call it.
And you dont need to worry about following, you are loved more than you will ever know. trust me.

Males are ignored and females are glorified. I dont think so. BigB is extra chivalrous. A male admiring a male is a bit disconcerting while a woman admiring a male and vice versa is natural.
I meddled and argued with security officials and almost got away. Maybe because I am a woman.
So wife made you run in circles. Next time when she gives directions, give her a big smile and take her with you.
Respected Sir,
Good morning !Just read your post. I listen “Madhushala” in your voice. My friend Gautam give the files. He got it from music download website. All poems are awesome.
Now, I listening the poem on “Bhagavan Budha”
Please take care.

Conversation between God and me was great, I liked it very much. Total Recall is mind-blowing, fantastic, marvelous and it is very well presented. Your comments are “Sone pe Suhaaga”. There are 10 parts on YouTube; part 2 and part 8 have audio problem. Your blog have 8 parts; some of the segments are longer than the YouTube but it took almost 2 days to load all the parts on your blog. Finally, I was able to watch all the parts at your blog the 2nd time and enjoyed even more.
I am sorry to know that you are in pain again. I wish speedy recovery for Shri Amar Singh Ji and for you to get rid of the pain.
With my love and regards
Sushil

hahaha Amit ji I had such a good giggle reading your paragraph on your adventure alone in the dark and then back to square one. Singapore’s MERLION walking the streets alone! ha ha sooo funny. Hang on wives are excellent navigators, even better than the GPS systems. It’s the hubbies who don’t follow our instructions properly and make wrong turns. Hail Jaya ji. However after analysing your paragraph and putting the Sherlock Holmes theory into consideration, I have come to a conclusion that when you heard those footsteps behind you, you obviously turned around and that’s when you lost the direction you were going in and since it was dark obviously you couldn’t tell the difference between east, west, north and south. What do you reckon Amit ji?? Soooo funny. Gosh you have some interesting experiences on your travels. Thanks for the laugh.
Glad to know that Amar Singh ji is recovering well. Good luck to him. As for the following. I often wondered about prayers not being answered too but now I know that god is a tough old guy with a very complex mind. Do not mess with him. Amen! I think god needs counselling.
Me: One last question. Sometimes I feel my prayers are not answered.
God: There are no unanswered prayers. At times the answer is NO.
Sometimes we don’t have a choice but to fall back on painkillers to get through the day. Certain pain becomes our shadow and never leaves us. Sorry to hear about yours.
Have a nice day and look forward to hearing more of your experiences. Time to take the dog for a walk now. Glorious day, maximum temperature 11deg Celsius. Humidity 51%. Nice, bright and sunny.
Abundance of love to you both. Hello Jaya ji. Thank you for letting your dear hubby be part of our lives too.
Take care
Divya
Dear Amitabh Ji,
Nice post! Conversation with GOD was particularly interesting. Life is nothing but a perception. It reminded me of one of my poems which I had written long back during my college days.
Hope you will like it.
Regards,
Ashish Jog
Thankyou so much for writing to us.
Pls. take good care of yourself.

Dear Sir,
A very lovely story indeed…
“Don’t believe your doubts and doubt your beliefs. Life is a mystery to solve, not a problem to resolve.”
Thanks a lot.
And this thing - “KILLER-SHILLER-DILLER” - was imagination-boosting!!!
I am damn sure YOU yourself must have been a BIG KILLER-SHILLER-DILLER - and that too without those Wranglers!!!
Every utterance of Vijay Dinanath Chauvan brings back a whole load of adrenalin-pumping memories!!!!!
Sir, we want an encore… PLEASE RE-LIVE AGNEEPATH once again!!!!!!!!

Dear Mr B
Good to hear that you are enjoying walking around the streets of Singapore without too much of a bother. In that part of the world it is Rajnikanth and Kamalhaasan who would likelier to be mobbed by the local tamil diaspora. Thank you for the conversation with god, takes me back to the Deepak Chopra books.
I just returned from Mumbai , over indulgence at the indigos , blue frogs etc.The stay at the four seasons at worli was pleasant , the view from the room was a bit shocking , a sprawling slum right across. What a contrast Mr B. The gap cannot get bigger. It is symbolic of India today. People sleeping on the pavements , while the rich zoom round in their BMWs etc.
A very good friend of mine Arsala, has made her first movie , the Unforgettable which is due to be released in a month. A different movie, and kudos to her for venturing into the forbidden area in the movie arena. The movie was shown in Vienna and Cannes to interesting responses.
I continue my stay in India for a week and missed writing to you last two days as my BB was giving all sorts of problems. Back to the bliss of my dear friend Mac.
Keep well Mr B
Sharmila
Mr. Bachchan
Some excerpts from another great poem:
Tell me not in mournful numbers,
Life is but an empty dream!
For the soul is dead that slumbers,
And things are not what they seem.
Life is real! Life is earnest!
And the grave is not its goal;
Dust thou are, to dust thou returnest,
Was not spoken of the soul.
Not enjoyment, and not sorrow,
Is our destined end or way;
But to act, that each tomorrow
Find us farther than today.
Lives of great men all remind us
We can make our lives sublime,
And, departing, leave behind us
Footprints on the sand of time;
(A Psalm of Life by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow)

Great conversation between you and God BTE I called you once and asked only one question.
Me: Only one question, Sometimes I feel my comments are not answered.
AB : You see ( to one of EF) I read all comments “There are no unread comments. At times the comments are unanswered.”
Me: When you are fighting the election for the ‘President’.
AB: This is second question.

(The proud Indian who able to help the Big B)
Amitji (and EF), greetings from Montreal, Canada.
What a treat to read today’s post, esp. the bit about the suggestion of you running for President and the dramatic encounter with the sandal-wearing, fast-running Pakistani lady who accosted you. Well, I bet you made her day, and then some, if not her life (since it is the dream/wish/desire of so many of your fans and admirers to meet you once in their lives). This is the stuff dreams are made of. She certainly was at the right place at the right time!
I was sorry to hear about Rajmata Gayatri Devi’s ill health, she of stunning, legendary beauty, grace, charm, and dignity. Jasmine (London), and Saroj, she is from the royal family Cooch Behar, married into the royal family of Jaipur (a city very close to my heart as I grew up there) and was named one of the ten most beautiful women in the world by Vogue magazine. If you Google her and see her pictures, you will know why. Try to find and read her autobiography, “A Princess Remembers”, a very interesting chronicle of her life and times. Also, Kishore (UK), did you see “Zubeida” (Shyam Benegal)? It was kind of based on her life, and her character was portrayed beautifully. If there is another film made on her, Aishwarya would be perfect for the role, as she is the most beautiful woman in the world, in my opinion.
Interesting trivia: comment #136: Who is Rochelle? # 137 is written by Rochelle!! So funny! Do I sense the green-eyed monster lurking among the members of EF, coz’ Amitji mentioned her and Daisy M by name? Relax, everyone. Amitji loves ALL of his EF. Right, Amitji?
Sincerely,
Jasmine Jaywant

i m surprised that few people apprecited your “god and me’ dialogue while majority kept on eulogising u. Few realised the depth of your dialogue with god. I really loved and appreciated the “god and me’ dialogue. it is very thought provoking and inspirational. People waste their energy in other thoughts. bankrupt minds! U must be feeling ‘great’ to read so many encomiums from people. Ofcourse u r the person to be highly appreciated and admired but what is this that EFs are devoting lengthy paras in eulogising u. Appreciation is digestable to a certain limit. excess of everything is bad.

From Phil Wollen, article about Indian eating, other habits some myths about vegans:
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had his arteries bypassed on Saturday, a procedure that increasing numbers of Indians are having. Last year, medical journal Lancet reported a study of 20,000 Indian patients and found that 60 per cent of the world’s heart disease patients are in India , which has 15 per cent of the world’s population.
This number is surprising because reports of obesity and heart disease focus on fat Americans and their food. What could account for Indians being so susceptible — more even than burger-and-fries- eating
Americans?
Four things: diet, culture, stress and lack of fitness.
There is no doctrinal prescription for vegetarianism in Hindu diet, and some texts explicitly sanction the eating of meat. But vegetarianism has become dogma.
Indian food is assumed to be strongly vegetarian, but it is actually lacking in vegetables. Our diet is centred around wheat, in the north, and rice, in the south. The second most important element is daal in its various forms. By weight, vegetables are not consumed much. You could have an entire South Indian vegetarian meal without encountering a vegetable. The most important vegetable is the starchy aloo. Greens are not cooked flash-fried in the healthy manner of the Chinese, but boiled or fried till much of the nutrient value is killed.
Gujaratis and Punjabis are the two Indian communities most susceptible to heart disease. Their vulnerability is recent. Both have a large peasant population — Patels and Jats — who in the last few decades have moved from an agrarian life to an urban one. They have retained their diet and if anything made it richer, but their bodies do not work as much. This transition from a physical life to a sedentary one has made them vulnerable.
Gujaratis lead the toll for diabetes as well, and the dietary aspect of this is really the fallout of the state’s economic success. Unlike most Indian states, Gujarat has a rich and developed urban culture because of
the mercantile nature of its society. Gujaratis have been living in cities for centuries.
Th prosperity has given the Gujarati surplus money and, importantly, surplus time. These in turn have led to snacky foods, some deep fried, some steamed and some, uniquely in India , baked with yeast. Most Indians are familiar with the Gujarati family on holiday, pulling out vast quantities of snacks the moment the train pushes off.
Gujarati peasant food — bajra (millet) roti, a lightly cooked green, garlic and red chilli chutney, and buttermilk — is actually supremely healthy. But the peasant Patel has succumbed to the food of the ‘higher’ trader and now prefers the oily and the sweet.
Marathi peasant food is similar, but not as wholesome with a thick and pasty porridge called zunka replacing the green.
Bombay ’s junk food was invented in the 19th century to service Gujarati traders leaving Fort’s business district late in the evening after a long day. Pao bhaji, mashed leftover vegetables in a tomato gravy served
with shallow-fried buns of bread, was one such invention.
The most popular snack in Bombay is vada pao, which has a batter-fried potato ball stuck in a bun. The bun — yeast bread — is not native to India and gets its name pao from the Portuguese who brought it in the 16th century. Bal Thackeray encouraged Bombay ’s unemployed Marathi boys to set up vada pao stalls in the 60s, which they did and still do.
The travelling chef and TV star Anthony Bourdain called vada pao the best Indian thing he had ever eaten, but it is heart attack food.
Though Jains are a very small part (one per cent or thereabouts) of the Gujarati population, such is their cultural dominance through trade that many South Bombay restaurants have a ‘Jain’ option on the menu. This is food without garlic and ginger. Since they are both tubers (as also are potatoes), Jains do not eat them, because in uprooting them from the soil, living organisms may be killed (no religious restriction on butter and cheese, however!). The vast majority of Ahmedabad’s restaurants are vegetarian. Gujaratis have no tolerance for meat-eaters and one way of keeping Muslims out of their neighbourhoods is to do it through banning ‘non-vegetarians’ from purchasing property in apartment buildings.
Even in Bombay , this intolerance prevails. Domino’s, the famous pizza chain, has a vegetarian-only pizza outlet on Malabar Hill (Jinnah’s neighbourhood) . Foreigners like Indian food, and it is very popular in
England , but they find our sweets too sweet. This taste for excess sugar extends also to beverage: Maulana Azad called Indian tea ‘liquid halwa’. Only in the last decade have cafes begun offering sugar on the side, as diabetes has spread.
India ’s culture encourages swift consumption. There is no conversation at meal-time, as there is in Europe . Because there are no courses, the eating is relentless. You can be seated, served and be finished eating at a Gujarati or Marathi or South Indian thali restaurant in 15 minutes. It is eating in the manner of animals: for pure nourishment. We eat with fingers, as opposed to knives and forks, or chopsticks, resulting in the scooping up of bigger mouthfuls. Because the nature of the food does not allow for leisurely eating, Indians do not have a drink with their meals. We drink before and then stagger
to the table.
As is the case in societies of scarcity, rich food is considered good — and ghee is a sacred word in all Indian languages. There is no escape from fat. In India , advertising for healthy eating also shows food deep fried, but in lower-cholesterol oil.
The insistence by family – ‘thoda aur le lo’ — at the table is part of our culture of hospitality, as is the offering of tea and perhaps also a snack to visiting guests and strangers. Middle class Indians, even
families that earn Rs10,000 a month, will have servants. Work that the European and American does, the Indian does not want to do: cooking, cleaning, washing up.
Painting the house, changing tyres, tinkering in the garage, moving things around, getting a cup of tea at the office, these are things the Indian gets someone else to do for him. There is no sense of private
space and the constant presence of the servant is accepted.
Gandhi’s value to India was not on his political side, but through his religious and cultural reforms. What Gandhi attempted to drill into Indians through living a life of action was a change in our culture of
lethargy and dependence. Gandhi stressed physical self-sufficiency, and even cleaned his toilet out himself.
But he wasn’t successful in making us change, and most Indians will not associate Gandhi with physical self-sufficiency though that was his principal message. Indian men do no work around the house. Middle class women do little, especially after childbirth.. Many cook, but the cutting and cleaning is done by the servant. Slim in their teens, they turn thick-waisted in their 20s, within a few years of marriage.
Since we are dependent on other people, we have less control over events. The Indian is under stress and is anxious. This is bad for his health. He must be on constant guard against the world, which takes
advantage of him: the servant’s perfidy, encroachment by his neighbours, cars cutting in front of him in traffic, the vendor’s rate that must be haggled down. Almost nothing is orderly and everything must be worried about.
In the Indian office, the payroll is a secret, and nobody is told what the other makes. Knowledge causes great stress, though the lack of information is also stressful, leading to spy games and office gossip.
Because there is no individualism in India , merit comes from seniority and the talented but young executive is stressed by the knowledge that he’s not holding the position he deserves. Indians are peerless detectors of social standing and the vertical hierarchy of the Indian office is sacrosanct.
Dennis Kux pointed out that Indian diplomats do not engage officially with an American of lower rank, even if the American was authorised to decide the matter. In the last decade, when Indians began owning
companies abroad, the Wall Street Journal reported on cultural problems that arose. Their foreign employees learnt quickly that saying ‘no’ would cause their Indian bosses great offence, so they learnt to
communicate with them as with children.
Indians shine in the west where their culture doesn’t hold them back. In India honor is high and the individual is alert to slights from those below him, which discomfort him greatly. There is no culture of physical fitness, and because of this Indians don’t have an active old age.
Past 60, they crumble. Within society they must step back and play their scripted role. Widows at that age, even younger, have no hope of remarriage because sacrifice is expected of them. Widowers at 60 must also reconcile to singlehood, and the family would be aghast if they showed interest in the opposite sex at that age, even though this would be normal in another culture.

For all non-believers of God and Cricket…
Come all ye fair young maidens, and harken unto me,
Never trust a cricketer, whoever he may be!
Crazier than a sailor who’s been six months at sea.
Never let a cricketer’s hand an inch above the knee.
First let’s take the paceman, pure speed from first to last,
Batters do be careful; his balls are hard and fast.
Then there’s the medium pacer, his balls swing either way.
He’s really most persistent and can keep it up all day.
So ladies, do be careful - your mothers would agree…
Never trust a cricketer-whoever he may be.
And watch the off-spinner, dears, another awkward chap,
If you leave him half an opening, he will slip one through the gap.
Then there’s the Wiley ’slowy’ pure cunning is his strength,
He’ll tempt you, then he’ll trap you, with his very subtle length.
And what about the opening bat, his struggles never cease,
He has only one ambition, to spend all day at the crease.
The number three’s a dasher, he seldom prods and pokes,
When he goes into action, he has a fine array of strokes.
So ladies, do be careful - your mothers would agree…
Never trust a cricketer-whoever he may be.
And do beware the slogger - not content with one or two,
When he arrives at the crease then only six will do.
Then there’s the real stonewaller, he knows what he’s about,
and if you let him settle in, it’s hard to get him out.
We come now to the last man in, I hope this will not shock,
He doesn’t mind if he’s last man in - as long he gets a knock!
So, dearies, do be careful-and be well warned by me,
Never trust a cricketer- whoever he may be.
And watch the wicket keeper, he’s full of flair and dash,
And if you raise your heel, he’ll whip’em off in a flash.
If you take the field, with the captain, you had better know the score
or he’ll have you in positions that you never knew before.
So ladies, do be careful - your mothers would agree…
Never trust a cricketer-whoever he may be.
The cricket commentator is a nasty sort of bloke,
He watches all the action and describes it stroke by stroke.
Even the kindly umpire - though he looks friendly as a pup,
You’ll quickly find you’ve had it, when he puts his finger up.
So, Darlings please remember ~ repeat it after me…
!!!!NEVER TRUST A CRICKETER – WHOEVER he may be.
Dearest Amitji,
Gorgeous, beautiful, funny, exuberant, poignant: all SO expressive, and all YOU! What a trip you have taken us on (never end a sentence with a postposition! HA!) and thank you SO very much for your generosity and heart!
For sure, I would like to join my voice in the chorus of EF well-wishers to send your dear friend Amar Singhji all the best for a successful and full recovery. And to also let you know that those healing wishes go to your friend Maharani Gayetri Devi as well. May they both feel the support of all of us, through you…
And of course, I am hoping that you are feeling better with each passing moment: we all hope that your back problems can be held at bay with lots of prayer, physiotherapy, and a minimal amount of those pharmaceuticals!
“Killer-shiller-diller”, that’s just way too sweet - I LOVE it!
…and since it’s nighttime here in Seattle, I must bid you a good night, and send you all my love, as always and forever!

Dear Amitabh Bachchan,
Today before work I had to take care of what rabbit and husband - neglected by my absence -
did to the household… : ) ! It’s easy to guess though, who of them behaved better : )
*
Thank you for posting this story of metaphorical conversation with God..
It is wise and motivating.. I never read it before..
Especially I liked :
“Experience is a hard teacher. She gives the test first and the lessons afterwards.”
“Eyes provide sight. Heart provides insight.” Sometimes it really feels like - ‘do not believe your eyes’!: )
“Success is a measure as decided by others. Satisfaction is a measure as decided by you.” !!
”Life is not a process of discovery but a process of creation.” I think it is both though : )
*
“Pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional.”
It is hard to argue with ‘God’ : ) , but I think that suffering is an actual experiencing of pain
and it is optional only with the painkillers !
Generally God seems to feel somewhat ‘detached’ in this conversation..
In Jesus, however, He walked our path and shared suffering of ours - His creation…
He showed great compassion and understanding of our nature and its weaknesses and the need
for the grace to come to our rescue in becoming better…and for comforting us..
*
Thank you for this very dynamic and eventful entry, written with your great sense of humor !
It was nice to read about you trying to get around by walking all by yourself in unknown terrain.
I do a lot of that and I meet people and quite often we talk and I usually make new friends on my travels. Some become very good friends for years - I have wide geography of long distance friends… On this last vacation I met two different ladies by accident, who wanted to keep in touch with me, and invited me to visit with their families some day… Actually it was quite amazing..
I am grateful to God for such moments and meetings and for all my friends…
*
I wish to your friend Amar Singhji to recover well.. And to Maharani Gayetri Devi I wish speedy recovery..
And to you to have a good day and feel better with your back pain..
*
May God bless you and yours.
Love and prayers.

Mr. B,
If memory serves me right I have heard my late papa telling me long long time back that he has met your father in Rashtrapathi Bhavan at one of the “At Home” parties which the President of India hosts every year, and was speaking very highly of him .My papa was the same age as Dr. Harvansh Rai Bachchan ( though I am much much younger than u!) he was the Secretary General of the TB Association of india then , name was BM Cariappa.
y dearest Mr. Bachchan
It was sad to hear about Maharani Gayatri Devi - once a symbol of all things beautiful - an institution by herself!! But why am I speaking in the past tense….? She still is, and will always be! I pray to the Lord that she be spared the indignities of dependence that old age mostly brings alongwith it - she is one lady I’d like to see being free of it! May she recover soon!
And I see that your pain has returned? I am really concerned at all the pain-killers that you are popping in from time to time - wouldn’t it be more prudent to take care and steer clear of these pains in the first place? It is so sad to see that the best among us, who are so knowledgeable, so wise and so experienced should fall so severely short, when it comes to looking after and preserving their own health! Is it really worth paying a price so steep just because we would like to ‘live our life to the fullest’, come what may? You have been so gravely injured that you are still living with the repercussions of it. All the more reason for you to take yourself seriously, isn’t it?
I adored the way you speak of the wife, the endearing way you refer to Jaya! No matter where she led you back to, remember that she kept you out of trouble and guided you back to your haven! And what’s a half hour walk anyway, besides a prescription for good health?!
:) I went weak-kneed at seeing the mention of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan - watched Sooryavansham yesterday - and was completey besotted by you all over again! You are timeless!!
Thank you for the forward you shared with us today. I hope many will benefit from these words of wisdom. About your memories of the Killer-Shiller guys in their Wrangler Jeans - that’s because you still hadn’t come on the scene then my dear!
Please take extreme good care of yourself, and I hope that Mr. Amar Singh is discharged soon from the hospital and returns to India - so that you too can come home, and rest awhile!
Love and blessings,
Always,
Kashmira
PS : Sharmishta, I was touched and am very grateful to you for acknowledging my sentiments! Thank you my dear!
My love and blessings, as always, for all of our wonderful EF members!!
Always,

Hi! Mr. Bachchan,
Thank you for sharing the little instant messaging chat between God and man. It was motivational. So, you are enjoying the anonymity offered by Singapore. It is indeed confounding how a star after acheiving fame and stardom seeks a bit of anonymity. Here’s wishing Amar Singhji and Maharani Gayatri Deviji a speedy recovery.

Dear Sir,
This is unconnected with today’s post. But I think the matter merits a comment from you as you yourself has been frequently the victim of unprincipled journalism. I refer to the very innocuous and may be naive remark made by Vinod Kambli in the TV interview and what the newspapers have blown it up into. As far as I can make out from the statement, Kambli wished Sachin had tried a little more to prevail over him to get rid of the bad habits Kambli had got into. I just can’t understand in what way such a statement could be construed as casting slurs on Sachin. Thank God Sachin himself did not think so although the paperazzi tried their best. I think you should share this with the EF as poor Kambli may not be able to reach such a wide audience
Pranam Amitji,
I am sorry for gustakhi. Chota muh Badi bat.

Dear Mr B,
A hilarious account of the day or rather two days. I guess celebrity baggages will be checked more because of the many deaths happening due to drug abuse, not just with prescription drugs.
A beautiful story you have sent us. There is so much one can learn from this story. If you enjoy reading I would suggest you get the book ‘Many Lives Many Masters’ by Dr. Brian Wiess. It is an amazing book about past lives and life after death. There are so many lessons that can be learnt from that book too. Many questions that haunt us all will be answered in this book.
Hope you have a good time with the family in Singapore and wishing Mr. Amar Singh a speedy recovery.

Thank you
Respected Amithji,
Good Morning.
I am a regular reader of your blogs. I read it every single day. The conversation with GOD is really amazing and very inspirational. A perfect start to a day.
I just loved the line - “There are no unanswered prayers. At times the answer is NO.” So true….
I strongly believe that: GOD answers our prayers in 3 ways :
HE says YES & gives you what you want.
HE says NO and gives you something else that is BETTER.
HE says WAIT & gives you the BEST EVER.
I have had this experience in my life. I had prayed very hard for something and He made me wait for it for soooo long ( i had almost lost hope ) and that was when He blessed me with something which was far far better than what I had asked for and made me realize that the wait was worthwhile . His ways are truly amazing.
Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts with us every single day.
May God shower His choicest blessings on you and your family.
Have a great day ahead and Lots of Love to Abhishek (I am big fan of him and of course You!)
Cheers,
Gowri from Bangalore.
Dear Mr Bachchan,
I know that you would love to have a life where nobody cares or bothers about you. But the fact is that you are well known all over the world and many would love just to shake your hand and have a picture taken with you.I am sure you envy those who can just walk down the street without any intrusion or hassle .Funny how some people can associate you with the remark..when will you be president..I apologise on his behalf. I am sure you had a wonderful flight as much as we did serving you.By the way the captain was an Indian .God bless and wish you all the best of health, happiness and all the good wishes. To you sir,it was a memorable experience and I will cherish it for the rest of my life. Thank you for your assistance and kind gestures.
haha…….that must be so embarassing…..handing out your hand instead of passport……anyways, stay healthy and fit……u might need to run a lot from mobs and stuff if you walk without security………wishing amar singh ji speedy recovery.

Golly gosh! But what about the men who WATCH cricket?
We have it on highest authority - I’m talking about one of Mr Bachchan’s earlier Blogs - that men will brook NO interruption from the ladies of the house when they are settled in front of the TV to watch sport!
Why I fancy that if Rani walked into the room to seek an opinion on her KANK ‘costume’…. she would just be asked - politely or not so politely - to stop blocking the gentlemen’s view of the screen.
With love and mischief, Daisy
hello sir,
from this delhi university thing i remembered what my sir said.. do u remember DR. BANSI LAL ????
he taught u mathematics during your graduation..
tc.
Good Morning Mr Bachchan,
For the first time in many months your post gets me more confused the more I read it! I must just be out of sync with your thought process right now!! : )
And I just CANNOT imagine why ‘you’ envied “those dude’s” at university! The only images I get from your description are of John Travolta and co from Grease! Hehe… funny; but not enviable … and for me that does not correlate with the sophisticated Mr Bachchan impression I hold!!!!….
The God story is a comforting read. I think the sentiment behind the philosophy of the email is certainly relevant to all faiths and perhaps works for non-believers too.. Thanks for sharing!
Well that leaves me to wish you, your family and Amar Singh ji well. I hope you get to venture into the great outdoors again and even do some sightseeing since you love Singapore …remembering to take Jaya ji’s map with you of course!
Great too to see Daisy finally getting the recognition she deserves!! She’s such a devoted, interactive member of the EF and always great fun to read!
Much love…

Dearest Amitji ,Hope amar singji’s recovering well with you on his bedside health should speed up,that’s our constant prayers.India is missing the two icons, the political circle is messing up between the ladies who also have lost the direction probably and amar singhji to make a strong come back.
I wish Maharani gayatri devi a speedy recovery and long life ahead.

WHAT A MIND-BLOWING CONVERSATION BETWEEN “GOD” & ME… REALLY FLABBERGASTED… GOOD NEWS THAT SH. AMAR SINGH JI IS WELL ENUFF… GOD BLESS HIM…
MAY BE YOU WEREON THE ROAD SIDE WALKING ALONE AS A “GOD” AND THE FAMILY FROM PAKISTAN DONE SOME GOOD DEEDS IN THEIR PAST BIRTH OR MAY BE THIS BIRTH TOO & THEY GOT THE BIGGEST GIFT OF THEIR LIFE TIME ACHIEVEMENTS TO MEET & GREET YOU….
ALL WELL THAT ENDS WELL… TAKE CARE , WITH LOVE & REGARDS TO ALL…WILL REACH YOUR MESSAGE TO MAHARANI SAHIBA AT “DURLABH JI” HOSPITAL… MANY THANKS!
AMITABH ZIIBBU (A.B.F.C)
Amitji, the first conversation with God is absolutely great!
I love it as it shows us as immortals what we seek now and then.
Great piece.
Your trip to Singapore with the stewards and others is very similar to other trips, as your fans are worldwide and everywhere in this world. It seems this world has become very small for you.
I love the directions given to you by Jaya to the hospital! Say no more as I get it as well sometimes here in Melbourne.
Oh! Last night I managed to get a DVD of the IIFA Awards and saw the whole thing.
Your singing was as good as when you sang for that song.
That was the BEST IIFA awards ceremony that I have seen so far. Now the others were also good but this one was just too good. Seeing Abhishek get emotional and than Jaya, wiping her tears when Abhi was speaking was something, I will cherish for a long time. A mother knows the bond between her son and herself.
Absolutely great night for all who attended.
Yes, Ritesh, Boman, and Lara are out of this world for their performances as MCs for the night.
I only hope the IIFA can have them back for next year. They are really great.
One thing I have to admit that although I love Ashutosh Gawahikar’s movies, he is too arrogant as such occasions and should not be invited to spoil the fun for the of the others. We all love the funs at such occasions, he is too much out of this world, and one person should not dictate the whole IIFA Awards ceremony for not having a dig at others.
No one minds except him, and so he should stay home with his wife.
At the end, I hope you can pass my good wishes to Amar Singh for his quick recovery, as he has become part of the Bachan Family for me as well.
Regards to you and the Bachan family.

ME: I do pray. Just makes me feel good. I am actually
busy now. I am in the midst of something.
GOD: What are you busy at?
ME: Don’t know. But I can’t find free time. Life has
become hectic. It’s rush hour all the time.
GOD: Sure. Activity gets you busy. But productivity
gets you results. Activity consumes time. Productivity frees it.
ME: I understand. But I still can’t figure out. By the
way, I was not expecting YOU to buzz me on instant messaging chat.
GOD: Well I wanted to resolve your fight for time, by
giving you some clarity. In this net era, I wanted to reach you
through the medium you are comfortable with.
ME: Tell me, why has life become complicated now?
GOD: Stop analyzing life. Just live it. Analysis is
what makes it complicated.
ME: Why are we then constantly unhappy?
GOD: Your today is the tomorrow that you worried about
yesterday. You are worrying because you are analyzing. Worrying has
become your habit. That’s why you are not happy.
ME: But how can we not worry when there is so much
uncertainty?
GOD: Uncertainty is inevitable, but worrying is
optional.
ME: But then, there is so much pain due to
uncertainty.
GOD: Pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional.
ME: If suffering is optional, why do good people
always suffer?
GOD: Diamond cannot be polished without friction. Gold
cannot be purified without fire. Good people go through trials,
but don’t suffer. With that experience their life become better not
bitter.
Me: You mean to say such experience is useful?
GOD: Yes. In every terms, Experience is a hard
teacher. She gives the test first and the lessons afterwards.
ME: But still, why should we go through such tests?
Why can’t we be free from problems?
GOD: Problems are Purposeful Roadblocks Offering
Beneficial Lessons (to) Enhance Mental Strength. Inner Strength
comes from struggle and endurance, not when you are free from
problems.
ME: Frankly in the midst of so many problems, we don’t
know where we are heading…
GOD: If you look outside you will not know where you
are heading. Look inside. Looking outside, you dream. Looking
inside, you awaken. Eyes provide sight. Heart provides insight.
ME: Sometimes not succeeding fast seems to hurt more
than moving in the right direction. What should I do?
GOD: Success is a measure as decided by others.
Satisfaction is a measure as decided by you. Knowing the road ahead
is more satisfying than knowing you rode ahead. You work with the
compass. Let others work with the clock.
ME: In tough times, how do you stay motivated?
GOD: Always look at how far you have come rather than how far you
have to go. Always count your blessing, not what you are
missing.
ME: What surprises you about people?
GOD: when they suffer they ask, “why me?” When they
prosper, they never ask “Why me” Everyone wishes to have truth on
their side, but few want to be on the side of the truth.
ME: Sometimes I ask, who am I? Why am I here? I can’t
get the answer.
GOD: Seek not to find who you are, but to determine who you want to
be. Stop looking for a purpose as to why you are here. Create it.
Life is not a process of discovery but a process of creation.
ME: How can I get the best out of life?
GOD: Face your past without regret. Handle your
present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear.
ME: One last question. Sometimes I feel my prayers are
not answered.
GOD: There are no unanswered prayers. At times the
answer is NO.
ME: Thank you for this wonderful chat. I am so happy
to start the New Day with a new sense of inspiration.
GOD: Well. Keep the faith and drop the fear. Don’t believe your
doubts and doubt your beliefs. Life is a mystery to solve not a
problem to resolve. Trust me. Life is wonderful if you know how
to live.

Interview With Maharani Gayatri Devi
Submitted by Karthik on 17 June, 2004 -
‘THEY STILL CALL ME MA’
I met Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje immediately after interviewing Maharani Gayatri Devi. When I mentioned my impression of the stately princess of yesteryear, Vasundhara, royalty in her own right, remarked, ‘I hope I don’t live to be 85, but if I do, may it be the way she lives.’ There cannot be a more apt comment to describe the energy that the former queen of Jaipur, the stunningly beautiful Gayatri Devi encapsulates. It’s not easy breaking her reserve though. As I entered her Lilypool home, adjacent to Jaipur’s fabled Rambagh Palace at the appointed hour, she was aghast to see a photographer accompanying me. No way would she allow the interiors of her regal residence tobe defiled by the clicks of such an instrument, she firmly declared.
Then she announced she thought I was merely paying a courtesy call and much as she loved reading Darpan on flights, an interview was out of the question. Exasperated, I finally tried the last weapon in my arsenal-Bengali. She glowed. And most of the interview that followed was conducted in her father tongue that’s luckily my mother tongue. She relented sufficiently to allow our shaken photographer a few shots at the doorway as she breezed away to attend one of her umpteen daily public engagements. Maharani Gayatri Devi is not just a celebrated beauty; she is a celebration of life itself…. Excerpts from a freewheeling dialogue with Chandan Mitra
Chandan Mitra: Your mother belonged to the Baroda royal family, your father to Cooch Behar in West Bengal, you married into Jaipur’s ruling family. Where do you think you belong?
Maharani Gayatri Devi: I have never thought of it this way. But having first come to Jaipur at the age of 14 when my brother was studying at Mayo College and, then, having got married here at 19, the bulk of my life has been spent in and around this city. It was a beautiful city then: Wide boulevards intersecting at rectangles, neatly spaced houses, always freshly painted.
There was hardly much traffic and whatever was there, was rather disciplined. All houses were pink and the Amber Palace was resplendent. HH (His Highness-referring to her late husband Maharaja Jai Singh) was passionate about houses, schools and hospitals. But he insisted on symmetry. Much as I opposed Pandit Nehru’s politics, he understood aesthetics. Once, when I was an Opposition MP, they were demolishing a part of the old city’s wall. I wrote to Panditji and he got it stopped immediately. Even Indira had some taste. But now see what has happened to Jaipur! It’s totally unruly, all building styles have merged, traffic is chaotic, there’s so much pollution.
The worst part is nobody listens. They don’t even think something wrong is happening. Of course, Jaipur is not the only place that’s getting vandalised. Lutyens’ Delhi was a beautiful Delhi. Look what they have done to it! You must have been to London. There they have retained the symmetry. Even today you can’t build a house that does not conform to the overall architectural style that is laid down. But then what can be expected when Jaipur has been taken over by outsiders-people who don’t feel for the city. Even our Chief Ministers and Governors these days come from outside. Who cares for Jaipur any more? I try, but it’s a fruitless battle.
CM: Your family handed over the Rambagh Palace to the Taj group. Similarly, other palaces in Rajasthan have been made into hotels. Is it a good thing?
MGD: Well, at least they are being maintained decently by the hotel chains. After we lost our privy purses and privileges, there was no way we could afford the cost of looking after these magnificent buildings. But the hotel people are doing a good job; Rambagh, I think, hasn’t changed since we handed it over. Similarly, I can say Umaid Bhavan and Laxmi Vilas in Udaipur are pretty well maintained. But some heritage frescoes are getting ruined. I wish they would do something about preserving them.
CM: When did you last travel to Cooch Behar? How often do you go there? What’s the feeling you get on reaching the town you grew up in?
MGD: They still call me Ma there. The elderly ones remember me as Rajkumari. Each time I go, they say, ‘Come back Rajkumari, come back to us.’ Hundreds of people gather outside the palace to wish me. I went there in February last year; I keep going back. Last time, I visited many villages in the interior areas. Crowds of up to 50,000 gathered and I had to address them. There is a Shiv Mandir in Cooch Behar that we patronise. I have to go back from time to time to perform family responsibilities. I still look after a lot of poor people in Cooch Behar. From my earnings I have earmarked money for such charities.
CM: You were an active politician and won three consecutive Lok Sabha elections. What made you give up?
MGD: Once the Swatantra Party fell apart following Rajaji’s (Chakraverti Rajagopalachari) death, I lost whatever interest I had in politics. Actually, I was never a politician as such, being MP enabled me to serve my people. But political standards have been declining steadily. I can’t work with today’s politicians.
CM: But you won even in 1971 when Indira Gandhi swept the election and most Opposition stalwarts lost…
MGD: Yes, she tried everything to stop me winning. Would you believe it, they systematically deleted the names of most Rajputs from the voters’ list? When I went surveying on polling day, people came to me in tears saying their names had been struck off the rolls. HH was no more by then; I felt so angry and helpless but couldn’t do anything. Officers said there were orders from Delhi to do this. But still I won, although with a reduced majority. You may have heard, I hold the Guinness Book record for winning with the biggest majority in a parliamentary poll in 1962, when Panditji was in power.
CM: You even had a stand-off with Jawaharlal Nehru in Parliament, I read in your memoirs. What was it over?
MGD: I disagreed with Nehru’s politics totally. He knew no economics. He was obsessed with the public sector and discouraged the private sector, except for some favourites like the Birlas. I used to be quite agitated about these policies. Rajaji’s thinking influenced me because he was fundamentally opposed to the licence-permit raj that Nehru had created. It was Rajaji who brought me into politics and persuaded me to contest the Lok Sabha election from Jaipur. It was during my first term as MP that the China War happened. We lost badly because Nehru’s military and diplomatic policies were as big a failure as his economic policy.
It was during the Parliament debate on our debacle in the China War that this so-called stand-off happened. A few days earlier, the Swatantra Party leader, Prof NG Ranga, had said at a meeting of party MPs that Opposition newcomers never seemed to realise the importance of backing up senior leaders in the House while backbench Congress MPs always did that.
That comment stuck in my mind. So when Prof Ranga was making a speech critical of the Government, Panditji interjected saying, “The Professor professes to know more than he does.” Congress backbenchers laughed loudly making this comment seem wittier than it was. Somehow, I got up automatically and said, “If you knew anything about anything we would not be in this mess today.” Opposition MPs made me repeat the remark because Panditji claimed he had not heard it and the Speaker had ruled it was irrelevant. When I said it a second time, all he said was he would not bandy words with a lady! I got both bouquets and brickbats for the comment. In retrospect, I am not sorry about what I said but wish I had put it in more parliamentary language.
CM: On the subject of your political experiences, you went to jail during the Emergency. What was it like?
MGD: You know, I wasn’t arrested immediately unlike the others. But I believed if she (Indira Gandhi) didn’t send me to jail, it would be a slur on me. I didn’t have to wait too long. I was taken to jail with Bubbles (Bhawani Singh) and spent a good five months at Tihar before I was released for an operation. Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia was with me. Looking back, it was a great experience although while I was there it seemed like eternity. The jail staff was very friendly and almost apologetic about having to keep me in confinement. But we had a wonderful time actually; there was a great deal of bonding between prisoners of the Emergency.
I remember, after dinner every night, we would hear slogans being raised from the male wards. One of them I recall distinctly. It went something like this:
Desh ki billi/ Chhodo Dilli
Jaao Italy/ Hotel chalao
(Bursts into long giggles). Don’t ask me why Italy and why hotel chalao. They would raise the slogan and we in the female ward would join the chorus.
Then, I remember, Holi arrived. I invited Rajmata to join some of us to celebrate. We made a cloth doll that was supposed to resemble Indira Gandhi. We set in on fire as Holika the night before Holi.
She (Indira Gandhi) made the mistake of calling elections. But by then, politics had also undergone a dramatic change. The Swatantra Party had collapsed and the Jana Sangh came up in Opposition politics. I was quite at a loss in the changed environment. That’s why I refused to contest the election in 1977 although there was so much anger against the Congress that time. I have never had the urge to get back into politics after that.
CM: Do you feel you did a good job as MP for three terms?
MGD: No, I don’t think I did anything much. I wish they had something like the MPLADS (MP Local Area Development Scheme) those days. I would have really spent the money on good causes to help the people. I remember some time in 1966 or 67, India was reeling under drought and I had travelled to the villages with HH. At one place, he got down from the car to ask a local trader how much he was selling wheat for. The man told him Rs 18 (per maund) and HH asked how much he bought it for.
The petrified trader replied, honestly, that he got it for Rs 10. HH ordered he must sell it at Rs 10, but the Government would subsidise so that he made a fair profit too. After that encounter, I opened my own fair price shop at Baran, a place that was reeling under drought and people were hungry. I brought food from outside and saw to it that ordinary people got grain at a reasonable price. I think that was one big contribution I made as MP. I also remember fighting for a large number of issues at the Zila Parishad. But it was impossible to win in most cases. In Parliament itself I don’t think I did very much except speak on occasion. While I would not claim to have done a lot, I did contribute in my own way.
CM: Do you still keep in touch with your erstwhile voters?
MGD: They don’t let me forget it. So, I still have to look into their problems because they come here with their complaints. I can’t turn them out, can I? You see, the days when I became MP, they believed in me as part of the raj family. Those days there was no tension between raja and praja. We trusted one another naturally; we looked after one another. They had faith in us and we nurtured them. I was born a princess and came here from outside. But they called me Ma, they elected me MP three times. What more could I want? But things have changed.
CM: I believe your mother was an amazingly independent person. What was she like?
MGD: For one, she was adamant we girls should not have private education and must go to school. Those days women from royal families never stepped out of palaces and had English governesses teaching them. But in Cooch Behar, we had to attend school like ordinary people. I remember having to get up early morning, dress in uniform and get driven to school. She was a fascinating lady with a mind of her own. She left a deep impact on me.
Later, I realised that the British were only interested in providing convent education and there was hardly any opportunity for Indian girls to get modern education in a different environment. That is why I took the initiative to set up MGD (Maharani Gayatri Devi) School. I think that is a lasting contribution I have made.
CM: You are remarkably fit for your age and very active as well. What keeps you occupied these days?
MGD: Oh, lots of things. I have my schools. I attend prize distribution and other such functions. I also coordinate school administration activities. People come to me for admission; I attend to them. The royalties I get from my book I channelise into help for poor people in Cooch Behar and Jaipur. I have my horses that race and I have to tend to them here in Jaipur. As I told you, an MP’s responsibilities don’t get over after ceasing to be MP. So I visit my past voters from time to time. Then I travel regularly to Mumbai and Kolkata. Recently, I was invited for the centenary of the Calcutta Club. I had to go; after all, my grandfather was its first president! Now with this Arisia diamond range, more work has piled up.
CM: What do you like doing in your spare time? Listen to music, watch movies?
MGD: Oh I have done all that and I don’t do anything like that now.
CM: You don’t like watching TV or movies?
MGD: No, no. Once in a while, if the kids get something home, may be.
CM: Okay, honestly tell me what’s the last movie you watched…
MGD: What was that? This new one, I think it was called something like Kal Ho Na Ho…
(She breaks off to board her Accent and drives away to a public function. Maharani Gayatri Devi, born 1919, was listed among the 10 most beautiful women in the world and would easily qualify as the classiest living woman today, irrespective of age.

Thanks for the dialogue between man and God. Sad, the epitome of Indian beauty Maharani Gayatri Devi is in hospital. Read it in the news. Wish her well. I am too groggy with antihistaminics and pain killers to write anything else. Have to rest to be well to join office tomorrow. Are you a racist ? Jokes apart, that would be sad.
hi
Mr. Bachachan
how do u do?
nice blog
thank
For AB & Daisy M,
Point noted.
Indeed if Rani walked across the TV screen in the KANK costume I would surely ask her to move aside, even if I was watching Tom & Jerry!
Cricket, the lovers believe, is God’s gift to the couch poe-tah-toe!
Women who don’t understand cricket cannot understand God!
A batsman who is clean bowled is allowed to play on, because God makes the umpire raise the wrong finger!
A fielder might miss a throw by miles, yet the batsman is run out, because God lifted both his legs at the same time while he was running across!
Its pure magic! If you want to see miracles, watch cricket!
If you want to hear misnomers, watch cricket! A plain open space of ground is called a slip, a gully and a cover! Also there are electrical terms like on and off! Mid-on, mid-off, long-on, long-off! A location far near the end of the ground is called deep mid wicket although the wickets are actually near the batsman and that spot is nowhere near the middle! And the Wicket Keeper is actually there to break those things, not to keep them!
The commentary for Women’s Cricket is worth listening too especially when the batting woman is caught in the slips or drives through the covers!
For non-believers, if God is ever replaced by Philosophy, Cricket cannot exist! Because Cricket is required for God to show His divine presence!
Watch it once, and you will be bowled over!
Regards,
Sudhir
Hello Sir
This is the first time that I visited your Blog. Truly speaking it is full of knowledge and your experience.
Sir I have some suggestion for the value addition in terms of the Visibility and creating the comfort level for the posting of comments. I mean to say that the “Comments” by the visitors and readers is shown on the top of your post, and I have certain points for the same which are as-
1) A visitor, when visits your Blog, he/she may directly jump to the comment box to post the comment (seeing less number of comments there; in order to be the first one). The reason and logic for this is that I have seen number of comments by people in which they just wanted to show their Love and Respect to You by being the first person to give the comment.
2) Generally, people first read and then post the comments, but in the case if the Comment box is on the top, people look that fist, so the entire post, message, knowledge may not be seen by the person.
So kindly think about sir and, customize the comment box on the bottom of every post, so that one can read the post first and then can very conveniently post his/her comment.
At last I apologize, for sending my opinion, on your blog, as I cannot reach to you very easily by mails or phone calls.
Love and Respect

Dear Mr Bachchan
Still thinking this morning about KANK, and I think I have finally solved the ”bed-breaker” mystery!
When Sexy Sam promises to give his son an explanation of how it was done….. I now realise that the answer is…
that Sam and his girlfriend were jumping up and down on the bed in great excitement after India won at cricket!!
Don’t try this at home children…
Luckily - for you - I now have to go to work for the rest of the day (even though it’s Sunday) so no more cricketing confusion I promise.
With love from Daisy
Hey Amitji,
I have been reading your posts regularly but could not post a reply for a long time now..I actually have a complaint with your server that I had posted two replies on the DAY 443, when u had posted your work on the foreword of brilliant Madhushala..I check now and there is only one of the two posts there..I had posted the “lost” reply earlier and I had told u many things in that reply about your work on the foreword..Is there any chance your server guys can retrieve that post..?..I would love to see it back..
And TOTAL RECALL on Times Now was really nice..It was good to hear so many unheard things..Like about your relationship with HrishiDa, your doing Zanjeer, your doing Kabhi Kabhi, your Coolie incident, your going broke and then your doing Mohabbatein, etc etc..And all that from the horse’s mouth..The horse being you..Ha ha..
Bye..
Cheers..
Shashwat..
Dear Mr Bachchan
I express my sadness for not being introduced to your blog earlier. But you see, now that i know about it, i take great pleasure going through it - word by word. So i guess the old adage is true - better late than never!
It might come across as a cliche to you, but, nonetheless, i am a big fan of yours. And even in the highlands of Bhutan when i miserably try to enact the scenes and recite your lines from Agneepath, my friends love it, and so do i.
But of late, i have become an even bigger fan of your writing. Perhaps it has got to do with the fact that i am a journalist working for a paper called the Bhutan Times back home. To cut a long story short - you are brilliant as a writer and your style i simply love.
Why do some men possess so much talent?
Until i figure that out, please do get well soon! And if you do get any offer to visit our “grossly happy” nation, please jump at it
Jasmine 224
I always get embarassed by compliments, and you are too kind, but is is always a joy interacting with so many members of EF, and miraculously getting undeserved recognition from Mr B.
With much love, Daisy

One final question…. you’ve explained the meaning of god and the cricketing universe… but….
SILLY MID-OFF???
Love from Daisy
good one amitabh bachchan! .. the conversation with God.. was good.
dear sir,
in these times of recession, some of the worst affected have been ngos dependent on donors for donations to run their organizations.due to the recession, many of the donors have been unable to pay those donations, with the result that many of the ngos are struggling for survival. at stake are the lives of the disadvantaged children and adults who are so dependent on these ngos to come out of that vicious circle of poverty they are cruelly trapped in.
sir, you and your family have been blessed with so much.could you give atleast a small donation to such ngos to help them survive thru this recession?one such ngo is the delhi based ‘project why’ run by a remarkable lady called mrs. anouradha bakshi.please go thu their website and her blog and help them with atleast a small donation , so that they can survive in their efforts to make this world a happier one.

please help…..
p.s - any of the readers - if you can ,please help, too.
Hi B,
I cant say I read your post everday, don’t have time, life takes over.
But the days I get to to read it sometimes the thoughts you put down reflect the feelings of my own consciousness.
I wonder if you chose this as a medium just to relate to the fans or that your awareness had started talking to you or perhaps was talking to you for a long time and you decided to just put it out there for those to see and read for those who can see more than what you are saying.
Its re-assuring to see that there is this tide flowing where there are more on this awareness path.
I guess I am going to do the same put down what I feel. Sometimes I guess this what one has to do put down ones thoughts with belief that someone somewhere is reading and sharing the same thoughts as you.
I loved your conversation with GOD I speak to him quiet often now days until my mind interferes.
Love Sabina

I think you should break it gently to the ultra-glamorous Rani that she couldn’t interrupt you even if you were watching Tom and Jerry. That’s a little harsh! Some men would at least consider which episode
And she is a VERY fine actress. Imagine in KANK, having to pretend that you DON’T find Abhishek at all attractive, but believe SRK is a total stud muffin!
Now THAT’S an award-winning performance.

MEIN TUMHARA SNEH , SANVEDAN SAMADAR CHAHATA HUAN,
PAR NAHIN US DAAM PE JO MAANGATE TUM………
For Lovers of Urdu Poetry, here is the original of a song that is almost like a gospel for Indian patriots. For those who have heard only the first two lines, it may be worth storing this one on your computers, just in case the next generation asks us “Do you know the whole song?”!
Saare jahaan se achchhaa hindustaan hamaaraa
hum bulbulen hain is ki ye gulistaan hamaaraa
… … … [Note: While the books I have quote the last line as "...gulistaan hamaaraa", I have always heard the song sung as "...gulsitaan hamaaraa". ]
Gurbat mein hon agar hum, rahtaa hai dil vatan mein
Samjho vahin hamein bhi, dil ho jahaan hamaaraa
… … … [Gurbat = exile/in an alien land]
Parvat vo sab se uunchaa, humsaayaa aasmaan kaa
Vo santri hamaaraa, vo paasbaan hamaaraa
… … … [humsaayaa = neighbour]
… … … [santri = sentry; paasabaan = guardian/watchdog]
Godii mein khelti hain, is ki hazaaron nadiyaan
Gulshan hai jin ke dum se, rashk-e-janaan hamaaraa
… … … [rashk-e-janaan = envy of Paradise]
Ai aab-e-ruud-e-gangaa, vo din hai yaad tujh ko
Utraa tere kinaare, jab kaarvaan hamaaraa
Mazhab nahin sikhaataa, aapas mein bair rakhnaa
Hindi hain hum vatan hai hindustaan hamaaraa

Yuunaan -o-mishr-o-romaa, sab mit gaye jahaan se
Ab tak magar hai baaqi, naam-o-nishaan hamaaraa

Kuchh baat hai ki hasti, mitati nahin hamaari
Sadiyo rahaa hai dushman, daur-e-zamaan hamaaraa

MEMO FROM GOD
To: YOU
Date: TODAY
From: THE BOSS
Subject: YOURSELF
Reference: LIFE
I am God. Today I will be handling all of your problems. Please remember that I do not need your help !!!
If life happens to deliver a situation to you that you cannot handle, do not attempt to resolve it. Kindly put it in the SFGTD (something for God to do) box. All situations will be resolved.
The answer may surprise you. After all … I work in mysterious ways.
Once the matter is placed into the box, do not hold onto it by worrying about it. Instead, focus on all the wonderful things that are present in your life now.
If you find yourself stuck in traffic; Don’t despair. There are people in this world for whom driving is an unheard of privilege.
Should you have a bad day at work; Think of the man who has been out of work for years.
Should you despair over a relationship gone bad; Think of the person who has never known what it’s like to love and be loved in return.
Should you grieve the passing of another weekend; Think of the person in dire straits, working twelve hours a day, seven days a week to feed her children.
Should your car break down, leaving you miles away from assistance; Think of the paraplegic who would love the opportunity to take that walk.
Should you notice a new gray hair in the mirror; Think of the cancer patient in chemo who wishes she had hair to examine.
Should you find yourself at a loss and pondering what is life all about, asking what is my purpose? Be thankful. There are those who didn’t live long enough to get the opportunity.
Should you find yourself the victim of other people’s bitterness, ignorance, smallness or insecurities; Remember, things could be worse.
You could be one of them!
God Bless and Have a Wonderful Day!
Carrie

Amitji,
Very true.. Talk with God post.
Good to know that you had a chance to explore Singpore, by yourself..i don’t think i would have the guts to stop you though and ask for an autograph.. just bassfull about it.
Well here is another version of a chat with God.. you have been in pain lately.. so read on:
And God Said “No”
Author: Claudia Minden Welsz
I asked God to take away my pain.
God said, No.
It is not for me to take away, but for you to give it up.
I asked God to make my handicapped child whole.
God said, No.
Her spirit was whole, her body was only temporary.
I asked God to grant me patience.
God said, No.
Patience is a by-product of tribulations; it isn’t granted, it is earned.
I asked God to give me happiness.
God said, No.
I give you blessings. Happiness is up to you.
I asked God to spare me pain.
God said, No.
Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me.
I asked God to make my spirit grow.
God said, No.
You must grow on your own, but I will prune you to make you fruitful.
I asked for all things that I might enjoy life.
God said, No.
I will give you life so that you may enjoy all things.
I ask God to help me LOVE others, as much as he loves me.
God said… Ahhhh, finally you have the idea.
Have a relaxing time in Singapore, hope you are reading more to relax… and have a safe trip back home!!
Love and Peace

HELLO SIR ,
Mr B, you know, there’s a positive correlation between your consumption of meds and the no. of exclamation marks in your posts..! Should we be worried..?
If a man has been wandering around in circles for half-an-hour, it’s usually because men are inherently bad at following directions. Not implying that you are, ofcourse. But…
And hey Mr B…if you ever feel you’re in danger, I think it more effective to bust some ‘Dance the KungFu’ moves…that way even if you’re unsuccessful at poking the attacker’s eyes out…you can make your getaway while he rolls around in fits of laughter…
LOLS!!
Playing! Following..?!

Dear Amitji,
Great to read that Amar Singhji is recovering well. We wish him full and fast recovery. He is one of the most interesting and dynamic leaders today.
In the context of those campus days and the dude with the most desirable Miss Miranda beside him, the pretty girls generally hung around the rich guys, in the hope to get rich husbands. But they forget that the rich guys are also the most calculating and are not easily carried away to commit to marital relationships on the basis of beauty alone, Here is an example:
A young, pretty lady posted this letter on a popular forum:
Title: What should I do to marry a rich guy?
I’m going to be honest with what I’m going to say here. I’m 25 this year. I’m very pretty, have style and good taste. I wish to marry a guy with $500k annual salary or above. You might say that I’m greedy, but an annual salary of $1M is considered only as middle class in New York. My requirement is not high. Is there anyone in this forum who has an income of $500k annual salary? Are you all married?
I want to ask: what should I do to marry rich persons like you? Among those I’ve dated, the richest is $250k annual income, and it seems that this is an upper limit. If someone is going to move into high cost residential area on the west of New York City Garden, $250k annual income is not enough.
I’m here humbly to ask a few questions:
1) Where do most rich bachelors hang out? (Please list down the names and addresses of bars, restaurants, gyms)
2) Which age group should I target?
3) Why are most wives of the rich only average-looking? I’ve met a few girls who don’t have looks and are not interesting, but they are able to marry rich guys.
4) How do you decide who can be your wife, and who can only be your girlfriend? (My target now is to get married.)
Ms. Pretty
The Reply:
Dear Ms. Pretty,
I have read your post with great interest. I guess there are lots of girls out there who have similar questions like yours. Please allow me to analyse your situation as a professional investor. My annual income is more than $500k, which meets your requirement, so I hope everyone believes that I’m not wasting time here. From the standpoint of a business person, it is a bad decision to marry you. The reason is very simple. Let me explain.
What you’re trying to do is exchange ‘beauty’ for ‘money’. Person A provides beauty, and Person B pays for it, fair and square? However, there’s a deadly problem here, your beauty will fade, but my money will not be gone without any good reason. The fact is, my income might increase from year to year, but you can’t be prettier year after year. Hence from a viewpoint of simple economics, I am an appreciation asset, and you are a depreciation asset. It’s not just normal depreciation, but exponential depreciation. If that is your only asset, your value will be a cause for much worry 10 years from now.
In Wall Street terms, every trading has a position. Dating with you is also a ‘trading position’. If the trade value drops we sell it as it is not a good idea to keep it for the long term. The same goes with the marriage that you want. It might be cruel to say this, but in order to make a wise decision, any assets with great depreciation value will be sold or ‘leased’. Anyone with over $500k annual income is not a fool; he would only date you, but not marry you. I would advise that you forget looking for any clues to marry a rich guy. And by the way, you could try and make yourself a rich with an annual income of $500k. This has a better chance than finding a rich fool.
Hope this reply helps. If you are interested in ‘leasing’ your services, do contact me.

Good Evening Mr. Bachchan
Hope you are feeling better.
Just could not stop myself from mentioning here that apart from everything else that the world loves you for (charisma, screen presence, voice, dignity, humility, acting ability etc etc - guess the list can go on and on) it amazes me to read the beautiful way in which you express yourself here. You convey without pushing a point in the face but yet make it strongly. In one para you are the young at heart “with the crowd” person and in the next you are the gentle wise avuncular person who leads by example. The words flow and the communication seems effortless, probably because they are straight from the heart ….they certainly touch a lot of hearts. A bit of trivia, a bit of soul searching, a bit of sharing, a bit of humour, a bit of …everything - its all there….very much like the wonderful AB movies that one one has grown up with. What draws me to your blog every now and then (to catch up from where I last read it)is to learn from the master and be inspired on how much more remains to be achieved purely as a human being.
I am sure Babuji was proud of so many things that his son did and achieved - but I believe had he been here to read the beautiful thoughts and words you write, he would have been a beaming father, contended to know that some where a fraction of his literary genius has been genetically implanted onto the offspring. Chip of the old block if I may say !!!
God bless -wish you good health ahead.
Daisy M,
You have a great sense of humor!
Now if we were to write a screen-play with the usual masala we could come up with a super duper hit!
Imagine,
Rani walks into the lights from the right; SRK standing on the left with an unstrung muted guitar in his hands (muted just as a preventive measure in case he gets too excited); Abhi’s silhouette on the screen behind looks like he is deciding whether to come on stage or escape while he still has a chance…
Lights, Camera, Action…
Voice of AB (rumbles across the hall):
Ladies, Gentlemen and those who are neither… A warm welcome to the latest cocktail of Cricket and Bollywood Romance…
On your left is SRK the star that never sets;
On your right… trying to stand still… is planet Rani;
In front… the shadow on the screen… is our own Sirji… who is not sure its a good idea;
And behind you all is my own favorite spot - the exit door just in case…
And thereon the story unfolds!!!
It will probably end with guest appearances of AB, Ash, Preity Zinta, Katrina, Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh, including a 10 second entry of the films director as a ritual started by Subhash Ghai…
The USP is:
Its got to be ’silly’! It has to be ‘mid’dle-of-the-road! And it has to be ‘off’ the track!
So, thats a Silly Mid-Off!
Regards,
Sudhir
HI,
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardship as the pathway to peace. Taking, as he did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that he will make all things right if I surrender to his will; That I may be reasonably happy in this life, and supremely happy with Him forever in the next.

Sir,
good evening. Are you aware of the fact that Rajmata of Jaipur Gayatri Devi is ill. She had discovered stomack oain and is in the ICU of Santokba Durlabhji hospital in Jaipur. She was flown in to Jaipur on Friday following her unstable condition.
I remember once you had come to Jaipur to attend a function at City Palace and had met Rajmata as well. Let’s all pray for her well being.

Dear Amitji, Good Evening. Reached home finally and rested till late morning tired of no sleep for many days and hectic travel. Yes some people do have a sense of humour on the blog. The best humour comes from you when you pass the gates of airports customs and immigrations. People on duty have tough time to decide wether they should behave like a fan of Amitabh Bachchan or do their duty well. Somewhere they realise duty comes first and then realise the jadoo ki jappi problem and one lifetime chance to meet you interact with you and take your autograph or photograph.
The Pilot of the flight must be also putting the plane on autopilot and standing in Que for your AUTOGRAPH!!!
The Airhostess’s must be also taking special turns and asking you for tea coffee and my autograph!!!
The passengers on their part also must be going past your seat for the Sher Ki awaaz wala washroom. And ofcourse washing hands well and taking autographs.
Boarding passes doubling up for autograph books is a new concept and may be airlines can print an empty box for that coveted signature in case there is a celebrity like you on the flight. What an !dea Sirji….
Some statements you never forget and I must admire your memory. Dog collar is one of them when Shanauk was sitting in front of you and you were writing blog with collar for your spondular pain and Someone (me) mentioned later dog collar and it stuck now again.
The best scene was the lady running behind you and then autograph & photograph what a sequence and action for Dina-naath Chauhan.
`I always pray to God that when I am coming back home from a tour the airlines security or custom do not ask me to open my bag. Reason all used clothes rolled and packed to save laundry expenses I bring them home and don’t spend dollars or pounds on laundry. The cost of my kachcha baniyan is less than half the laundry charges abroad. So I carry extra pairs to save money. What if my laundry is spread and the officer faints….
Trolleys are a boon on airports for carrying the extra large and heavy luggage pieces. I am surprised why our Railway ministers don’t start this on major Railway stations. The bargaining with coolies will stop and they will accept official charges. Who cares Laluji or Mamataji!!!
I think EF must think about offering you special invitations to their respective Countries so that everyone gets chance to give you directions and lift. You easily get lost under directions of your wife. Atleast one of you is little bit (….)!!!
My frank opinion is VIP’s are so much goaded like you were in London premier of Chandani chowk to China…So they have no real sense of direction and giving them a sketch of direction is silly. They need escorts only otherwise they bump in to the wrong door.
Happy to know Amar Singhji will be reading some of the comments about good wishes sent to him by EF.
Have a nice time in Singapore and do descover the city well because we are going to be there after you as promised. Hopefully directions on the blog will be accurate and not what we call in Pune; Ghoom fir ke vapas bhopla chowk…
My sincere regards to all the winners of Autographs and Photographs especially runaway auntiji!!!

now that the grogginess from the anihistamincs, painkillers and nausea is tapering off, i read the dialogue between man and God over and over again , and decide it is going to be the new addition to my studio walls as well as my workroom at home. I have , in addition , some excerpts from Arjunovacha ( Gita ) and some teachings by the Dalai Lama. So, this sure will help me further.
Hope your friend is recovering well and so are you … good night … till another dawn

Dear amitabh ji,
i liked the direct chat with mighty GOD?
IT is heartening to learn that amar singh ji is recovering fast.i am a great fan of him because he is a FORTHRIGHT LEADER .He is outspoken and quite sensitive to national problems .He is doing well in national politics. The biggest good work he did was when he saved the manmohan singh government by providing support to the national government when left people withdrew support .
i like his HAZAR JAWABI.no body can beat him as he is witty, and very quick to give BLUNT replies.
He is master of URDU COUPLETS.
i wish him a speedy recovery.i also pray for rajmata gayatri devi who is not well because of her old age.god bless her long life.

Respected Sir,
I am a student of IIT Kharagpur , its the first time i am writing to you , i hope you are fine as our prayers will always bestow you with good health and soundness.
Its been so long that i am very disturbed both emotionally and mentally , being at a place where world of opportunities are at doors , but there is something that is distracting me , i travel from Jodhpur (my hometown ) to Kharagpur and the whole railway journey make me experience something that brings tears to my eyes, that is the poverty and poor people , as the train passes through very arid to very fertile lands the only thing that is noticible is the poor and downtrodden people , at one time i dream of being to biggest MNCs of the world and wish to be like great industrialist but as i close my eyes , hungry faces shake me up, though there is great stress on highlighting such things VIA indian cinema like Swades etc but are we really doing anything for them , is this that we are sitting in Ac rooms and just feeling pity on them , is just that we feel someone will do but in reality no one , i am highly disappointed by the Indian Govt be it any , as if Democracy is eating up our country. But i feel myself completely helpless at present i am at NASA as a research student but still not satisfy with anything as i recall those people running after buses or trains begging for water in Rajasthan and those climbing up trains for a mere coin . Who will do it .cz. i am doing my bare minimum
I just wish to ask you
Are you satisfied ??
I hope you will go through by situation and help me to realize what is still hidden in nutshell
Thanking
Sincerely
Singapore made you feel so light, knowing your Friend is now alright. The wife showing you a thing or two, that you wished you had listened to. Shall I go here or there, just to end up from where I queued. I shall never utter a sly, for my Mrs will take that ride. Saying this and saying that, we all take in that it is not so bad. I can go on but what’s the use, as you’ve heard the similar a trillion times. Have fun Amitji.
salaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam amitji!
Mab’as mubarak!
may ALLAH bless u and ur family and gift peace to the world!

hello….! I am Rashy from New York, i like you amitabh ji….u r a gr8 prsonality. However i always wanna know that you have got everythin in life u wanted gud wife ,gr8 son and beautiful daughter in law, proseperity and success. What else you need in life now……….wat pupose still remains?…for your existence except for living for direct blood relations……or you doing some charity for ppl who really need ur help….? i mean we all wan something from life but whn we get that…..wants and desires r satisfied thn wat nextt?????////////
Dnt know if i was able to put my views correctly ……….But i mean Having is not so pleasing a thing as wanting, and you have got everything from God grace so at this age r u still into Materialistic things………People die and wrk hard all life to get fame as you have got but still rare get that,so what you think about HIM who give you all this.. just thanking should do?10 yrs later may b early or late you would die ..(sorry for being harsh and straight) and 20 yrs later people from exiting genetaion would remember you and may be other 20 yrs no one will (they may or may not recoznise u).Fame will slowly fade away……..you may take a rebirth according to yr deeds or unite with GOD in heaven…but after all this achievement what more you want, why not feed your soul sir, do charity see the real poor life .help needy people…..Out of India’s population, 76% live below the poverty limit of $2 a day, compared to 73% in Sub-Saharan Africa
………….still people are neglected and die of hunger, still vultures wait for the kids to die……http://www.farkedlife.com/dying-unnecessarily/vultures-eating-dying-kids-in-africa/ i dont know if i am making sense to you,no offence, apologies in advance.

hallo sir ….maine pahli baar aapka blog padha achha laga …….
aap se ek guzarish hai ki isko hindi me bhi likhe taaki hamare hindi pradhan desh me log is jaankari se door na rahe ………
Sir,
Got to know you are in Singapore.
Went all around the hospital and your hotel hoping that I might just get lucky like the people on the previous evening.
I have waited outside your house hours only to be told that you were out shooting.
I hope to meet you sometime this week.
Are you going back to Mumbai soon?
Please stay in Singapore for a while..the longer you stay…the more chance I have to bump into you. Besides the high tides in Mumbai and possible rain and subsequent flooding is not encouraging. So I hope you stay longer.
Looking forward to see you.
Sourabh
Mr. Bachchan,
Am taking a shot in a million by hoping to be able to meet you here in Singapore..As they say in Singlish, “Can?”
my email id is captured with this comment.
Thanks much.

Dear Mr. Bachchan,
Thanks a lot for posting a conversation between me and God. It is very philosophical and enlighten every human being.
My prayers for speedy recovery of Mr. Amar Singh and Maharani Gayatri Devi.
LOL.
Naishadh Vyas
loved reading the post
Dear Mr. Bachchan,
This is my very first time on your blog. Its just like meeting u in person and I can’t say how grateful to God for blessing us with Internet where it was made possible for all of us to talk to you. I can feel the butterflies in my stomach and goose pimples as if Im sitting with you, your energy is all over the blog. As a child I grew up wishing one day to marry you but alas somethings are not meant to be and I beleive that Jayaji is doing her job perfectly, I love her. What a chat you had with God, He just visits us like that besides you are one of His favorites. Im lawyer in Karachi, Pakistan and I have your picture on my vision board, I follow your life religiously and boy I want the success, humility and the abilty to forgive others just like you have. By the way Singapore is an amazing place, very loving people, everyone is in a happy mood enjoying and living life as its meant to be.
Best wishes for Amar Singhji
Love and blessings to you & your family .
Dear Sir,
I hope you are doing well with God’s grace. I really don’t intent to bother you. But, but I feel helpless and quite small asking you for a favour. I was recently watching the song “salaam” from your son’s movie Umrao Jaan. Though I have seen the song many a times, but this time a blue stone ring, which Abhishek was wearing in the song when he does a salaam to your daughter-in-law, caught my fancy. Since then I have looked for the same ring at whichever shop I could lay my hands on. But to my disappontment, I could not find the ring which has the same size blue coloured stone.
If I may request you to please inquire and let me know where I can find the same size blue stone beautiful ring. I would not have bothered you, but I feel helpless.
May God bless you with a healthy life. Thanking you in anticipation and waiting for a positive reply.
Your post reminds me of what SRK once said in an interview:
He said you go on these tours and you get up on the stage. All these people scream at one rise of your hand and you feel like god.
And then you land in Mumbai and the custom officer opens your bags.
Dear Sir,
I am going to catch up with Total Recall and write a comment post as soon as I can.
Lots of love,
Daksha

Dear Sir,
I hope Amar Singh ji is much better now. Had he been in Mumbai, I suppose it would have been too hectic and noisy with so many people visiting the hospital. Singapore is an ideal place for resting. How is Mahrani Gayatri Devi now? She has been in my thought s too. Very pretty woman with the most feminine features. She reminds me of the Late Indira Gandhi ji when she was young. I think looks wise, they shared many similarities with young European women in those days.
When I visit India, I notice how old and thin fragile some of the women who work in rural areas look. They work so hard and are rewarded with so little. Even the children, the silent look on their faces says it all, they could be highly intelligent but without the resources what chance do they stand of being educated.
I am sorry my comment does not match your post but as I say, it is okey….
Acceptance of things gives a smooth ride through the journey of life. That is not to say I would never take up any challenges but while they are not there, I am not going to go round looking for one. For now I am happy just being.
Love,
Daksha
I have just read my own comment, I think I was in another world while writing…got carried away with various thoughts.

Respected sir, i read this page earlier year back,” your chat with god” and i was looking for it , though i had saved it earlier but i couldnt find it in my computer and i googled but was not able to search peoperly. but ultimately, i got results in google n thank god , i read this again.
sir, the way u hav got answers to those highly complex questions , seems that there must was som extra ordinary person and maybe god himself.
brilliant answers which shows some super intelligence, but
sir, u were vry vry vry lucky that GOD himself chatted with u directly!
sir, its still not easy to believe that god really chatted but plz tell me was that god himself and where did he chatted to on what mesenger? was it yahoo messenger or any other? with what id did god chatted to u. god must hv used to som id to chat to u n i wonder from which computer did god chatted.
