London, UK April 20, 2009 Mon 1:35 PM
It was the trip to London that kept me going any further on the blog yesterday. But now that I have settled down, I settle down to what I enjoy most - connecting to the Extended Family !!
Its ‘Teen Patti’ and its the last schedule. There are some important names being mentioned for the shoot, but unless it all happens it would be premature to talk of them. Perhaps a little later when we are deep in progress on our work.
Its 5 degrees in the morning here and from near 40 degrees in India this is a welcome relief. Some of the work shall be in Cambride and I look forward to that. Yet another opportunity to visit St Catherine’s College, where my Father studied for his doctorate in English Literature. His thesis being ‘W.B.Yeats and Occultism’. A unique subject and my Father being among the first Indians to have succeeded in getting a Doctorate from this University. I had visited the College on two occasions. Once when Jaya and I had just come to UK for the first time soon after getting married and the other during the shooting of ‘Jhoom Barabar Jhoom’. In 1973 when we first came we had visited Mr Henn, my Father’s tutor, a few walking meters from the University. He had been most warm and welcoming despite his advanced age and condition. He operated from a wheel chair and did all that any normal person would do. Opening the front door to us, guiding us into the sitting area, and even making us some tea, with his own hands, in that wheel chair condition. He refused any assistance and took great offense when someone did extend a helping hand. He even drove his own car himself; folding his chair after getting in and manually pulling it out when he wanted to get out. Remarkable spirit !!
During our second visit, Mr Henn was no more, but I went in to the University and was taken around to the areas where my Father had sat for his studies - in the classes, in the library. Such a peculiar feeling. I even saw his name in the register of 1954 !!
As I write I am informed of some sad news.
Shobhit Kaushal passed away. That confident and full of talent youngster, the painter and poet, one who’s works I had posted not so long ago, gone. Gone to cancer.Passed away in Kanpur today. May his soul rest in peace. He was a unique child of God..!!
I must rest now the jet lag catches up. I am told Sir David Frost that great commentator and TV personality, wishes to interview me for a program he does on India. Such an important personality, what ever would he find talking to me, I wonder. And then soon after we get into a photo shoot and reading rehearsals for the shoot, with Sir Ben Kingsley. He plays an important part in the film.
The possibility of meeting up with 2 decorated personalities and in fact working with them together, seems awe inspiring. Very soon I shall have all the gory details of the shoot and shall share them with you.
My brain hurts with sleep. Its demands that I must rest in order to be at my utmost by tomorrow.
So I bid you goodbye and shall be with you very soon..
Amitabh Bachchan

Have fun in London!!!
Thank you for connecting with us even with the jet lag catching up.
That is a heartwarming story about Mr. Henn being so independent with the wheelchair condition. I hope you enjoy your third visit to St Catherine’s.
I’m so sorry to hear about the death of that remarkably talented boy, Shobhit Kaushal. That is such a shame. I am so glad you gave him such a present when you made time to meet him.
There is your humility again, wondering about what Sir David Frost would be talking to you! You’re only India’s most beloved movie star and India’s icon, according to a certain book. I did read about Sir Ben Kingsley being in the film. How great it will be to see the both of you, great actors together. I think both of them should be in awe of you and probably are!
I’m looking forward to those gory details. ( First spelling correction of the second year-share ‘them’,not ‘then’.) Please don’t return too soon. That won’t be enough rest to unhurt your brain.
Love,
Rochelle
Hi Mr.Bachchan,
Good to read your new blog page again. Have a wonderful stay in London.
And Congratulations to Abhi-Ash for their 2nd Marriage anniversary.
God bless the couple!!!

Hi…….I fool myself by thinking I am the first today
Good night! and looking forward to hear from your shoot tomorrow.
Sir - Let me be one of the first few to extend a very warm welcome to you to London - one of the greatest cities of this world which you have visited on numerous occasions. For now I am wishing you to have a much needed rest and hopefully get adjusted to the time zone. The weather here in South East was pretty good today and hope it will stay this way while you are here. Was so enchanting to read about your memories of your visit to Cambridge and seeing your father’s name in the college’s 1954 register. It is institutions like Oxbridge that makes UK so great. Am really looking forward to hearing more from you on the shooting for ‘Teen Patti’ and your other work while in London. Would be a dream come true if there was a chance to meet you while you are here. I would be indebted to you forever more. Yours sincerely - Rajesh (Bucks)
Dear Mr. Bachchan,
We are saddened by the demise of Shobit. Your first description of him had brought tears in our eyes, but at the same time the recollection that we are not here permanently and the importance in leading a better life rather than worrying/quarreling for petty things. May his soul rest in peace.
Its good to hear that you will be interviewed by Sir David Frost, although i confess, i dont know much about him. But Sir Ben Kingsley; the first thing that brings to mind is Gandhiji. His larger than life portrayal of the Mahatma have established his credentials as a legendary actor. Its would be a treat to see the meeting of two legends, the other being you.
Congratulations to Abhi and Ash for their second wedding anniversary.
My beloved Mr. Bachchan,
The sad news shared by you has now washed away the joy of knowing you are so close. Nevertheless, first things first.
My heartfelt condolences to the family of Shobhit Kaushal. As tragic as the news of his passing away is, we have to stay real that The Almighty has relieved him of all the pain he suffered and is in a place now where there is only bliss. So may his dear soul rest in peace.
Great news again on all you are here for. Wishing you success in all you attempt. The perfectionist you are, you don’t really need my wishes but nevertheless I need you to know that they are sent from the heart. Very nostalgic indeed as you connect to your Father’s presence and time at the University. How dear you hold his memories. Truly moving.
Enjoy a peaceful sleep in the cool nights of Europe and more than excited to know you are here.
Love, love and more love……Ok, come on closer, a sweet hug too.
:)

Lily D’Penha-Frankfurt-Germany.
P.S. Dee…..you foretold what was to come. So get packing now for our meet. Rose, Jasmine, and all others welcome. Mr. Bachchan, we are on our way to you. Just tell us the place and time, we shall be there.

Dear Mr. AB,
So sorry to hear about Shobit Kaushal.
Happy to hear about tomorrow’s upcoming excitement.
Glad to hear you will visit your Father’s college. It is a beautiful university, I gave a talk there a very long time ago.
Wishing you a restful night…
Love, Renate
Damn the tab said no comments and i thought i was the first…anyways congrats to ash and abhi and many good wishes to u too Mr.bachchcan
Dear Sir, The people in England are very independent. That is a very good quality to take in. We have made some very good friends who are very elderly and extremely fragile, but they come out to do their shopping and take very little help if possible. It is very interesting to know that your Pujya Pitaji studied in Cambridge. I wasn’t born then and I bet it must be very difficult to manage everything during those times, cold winters, no indian food.
It was a lovely day today and hope you must have enjoyed the sunny weather. All the best with your Teen Patti shooting. Hope all goes well. It would be nice to meet you. We would feed you gujarati Ghar ka Khanna. pranams to you sir. Take good rest and take care of yourself. Make sure you don’t catch a cold, keep warm as we have a lot of people coming for cold remedies.
Pranams to you and your family and all the EF.
Hi Amit Uncle, Its a joy to read your blog evryday for the past 1year,however i have a grouse to grind with you … why do u let media provoke you to such a extent that explainations, justifications are always forthcoming from your end let it be a man in your position n ur sataure should not b worried about the media they all are bunch of jokers, really you shouldnt ,hope you have fun in UK,
BYE N HOPE U DO PEN A FEW WORDS FOR YOURS TRULY
Pranaam again Sir - Very sorrt to you and all EF…..in the excitement of knowing that you are here in UK, I forgot to pay my condolences on the passing away of the talented young Shobhit. May his soul rest in eternal peace!!
Rajesh (Bucks)
I’ve only skimmed thorugh the post … and at first elated that you are in london and wanted to welcome you very warmly to my city!….
But then stopped dead in my tracks by the awful news about Shobhit.. I’m really sorry to hear that..
I am very pleased you are here .. just quite a bitter sweet moment. It is a huge deal to be interviewed by Sir David Frost.. but you are a HUGE deal. Can’t wait to hear more!
Well I’m sure you must be exhausted .. I’m sorry I want to be more happy but I’m finding it hard to at the moment …
I’ll be back later… in the meantime ..
Goodnight .. (from london.. to you in .. london!!!!)
Love
Jasmine xx (I’m shouting goodnight from out of my window, can you hear me???)
For Shobhit…
Dear Shobhit God bless your soul as you rest and take releif from the suffering you endured here on earth. You pain has now ended and sadly so has your life.. but you live on through your work, your talent and creativity will not be forgotten. We’ll miss you Shobhit.. now that you are with God as one of his angels, heaven is still richer and we are not! Rest in peace.
All my love and admiration
Jasmine xx
Mr.Bachchan,
Shobhit Kaushal is with God and in no more pain. It’s cool news that Sir Ben Kingsley will be working with you on Teen Patti. It should be an interesting film. I wish you and the team all the best with Teen Patti. Also good luck with your interview with David Frost. Once again a very Happy Anniversary to Abhi and Ash!
Best wishes!!

Praying Satyanarayan Swami to always be there for your whole family. In our house here in New Jersey on 9th April we performed Satyanarayan Puja and Hanuman Jayanti. Along with our friends and all the kids read Hanuman Chalisa 108 times. I’ll proudly say one thing that we Indians will keep our culture and tradition going wherever on earth we are. Very happy that the puja in our house got completed successfully. Please let us(your Fans) know, how was Jayaji’s Birthday celebrated.
Will always be your and your whole families fan #1

Dear Mr. Bachchan
I am sure you are looking forward to meet Sir David Frost….yesterday I was watching Mr. Myers interview on Bravo TV on a program called “Inside the Actors Studio” and they ask such meaningful questions about acting and how an actor portrays certain specific roles which help upcoming actors. Hopefully you will be faced with some challenging questions regarding your talent and roles which can be of help to others. Wish you all the best and enjoy your shooting schedule in London.
Lakshmi Jag
My deepest condolences to Shobhit’s Family. He was a star on this earth who made us realise how to face difficulties and keep on smiling. He has now become a star in the beautiful sky. His paintings and poems were inspiring too. God bless his soul and give his family the strength to bear his loss. May his soul rest in peace. He must have been very satisfied to have met you.
You gave him such a lot of happiness. Thank you for sharing.

Have a nice stay in London. You know what, someone actually posted a comment here about seeing you taking a flight to London …was on the same flight as yours. Now, imagine that happening…so exciting!! I just happened to read his post and came to know about your trip to London!
That’s some very sad news about Shobhit …although it was bound to happen…with such an advanced stage of cancer …God rest him in Peace. Reminds me of my younger sister who had passed away all of a sudden…just in a jiffy…accidental death. And one more sudden unexpected toll on our family, with my younger cousin brother’s death…these kind of episodes shatters one into pieces…
Don’t know what else to write now…
Wish you all the best in all your future endeavours,
Namaskar
Divya Rana
Sir,
Please wish Ash and Abhishek a very HAPPY ANNIVERSARY from your EF.
Fan#1 as always - Sunita
Dear Amitji,
Sorry, forgot to say sad about Shobit. (Respected elders usually say should not say bad news
before good news).
Mr Henn was a very independent man - imagine this situation in India - we do not have the
facilities in India for people with disabilities! May be one day …soon, all will change for the better.
Good night.
Love and best wishes

Dear Mr B,
Welcome! Welcome! Welcome to Europe.
Sorry to sound like a 4 year old hyper (on chocolate and Coca Cola!) kid but this is sooooo exciting. London and Cambridge, here I come!!! Hehe
Ok, on a serious note: Dear Mr B, as you know flower ladies (Lily, Jasmine, Rose) and I have been pestering you for a ‘darshan’ since a loooooong time (ok just under a year, but still…). So Mr B, what say you? Will you stay in these cities until the weekend? How can we meet you, kind Sir?
Lots of love

Dear Sir,
Sad to hear about Shobit Kaushal. May his Soul Rest in Peace. My prayers are for him.
Congratulations for Abhi-Ash for their second marriage anniversary.
May the lord bless many long happy marriage anniversaries
Kind Regards
Muralee
Dear Angel, that was a beautiful presentation on the last post. Lovely and clever and many more to come.
Mr.Bachchan,
I felt so bad on hearing Shobhit’s passing. I have never met the man, but upon seeing his work, and after what you wrote, I do feel sad. I am sure he is in a better place, devoid of any pain.
Two great actors sharing the same space, cannot wait to read more about it from you. Hope Abhishek and Aishwarya are doing well and had a good anniversary.
Sujata.
Hello Mr. Bachchan,
I hope you are enjoying your work in London,
and Shobhit Kaushal will remain inour prayers.
I was reading your father’s Madhushala
I had tough time in understanding the meaning of it
I was wondering that is their any resources available for translations of madhushala that will be great.
Dear Mr. Bachchan,
Have a very nice “Good Night!”
Don’t think about sad news, enjoy a very sweet dream !
Waiting for more about you !
e.t.
Pranam amitji,
Its very sad to hear about “Shobhit kaushal”. May god bless his soul.
Eshwar apko swasth rakhe, surakshit rakhe aur prasann rakhe.
Aapka param snehi
“Anurag”
Apologies for being so callous earlier: my heartfelt condolences on Shobit’s sad demise. May his soul rest in peace. Sincere wishes to all his family members, friends and loved ones.
Was your father’s thesis ever published in any shape or form? I ask because Yeats is one of my favorite poets and I would be interesting in reading this work. Admittedly, I am not too fascinated by the poet’s ‘occultism’ but I am still curious as to what your father’s thesis was.
Shobhit’s in a better place and thank you for telling everyone his story.
Sorry Amitji,
I did not mention about about Shobhit in my previous post. Thanks for being there for kids like him. He is a bright star, that just moved from Earth to Heaven.
May Shobhit Kaushal’s soul rest in peace.
Our condolences with his family.
~Sunita (Your EF)
Good evening my precious.. my dearest.. my most beloved and respected papa..
I do feel the need to call you today more than any other day ” papa “..
Thanks god that you had arrived safely to London.. 5 degree compared with 40 degrees is quite a relief.. but please take a very good care of yourself and don’t expose your precious self to cold air currents.. i’ve just arrived Luxor.. it is about 10 p.m. and it is 40 degrees, i wonder how hot it will be at 2:00 p.m.. i had told the group that we will start the tour at 6:30 a.m.. i hope that no one feels bad because of the extra ordinary increase in temperature..
All the best for the remaining scenes of Teen Patti.. and visiting the St. Catherine’s university.. what a feeling to visit the class where your dear dad had studied.. what a great father he was.. and what you had mentioned about the remarkable spirit of Dr. Henn is just wonderful.. and it is a very spirit lifting story about the way he dealed with life in his condition.. a full healthy person like me has .0000001% of the man’s spirit.. what a shame.. easily breakeable person i am.. should learn a lot to be someone.
I wish you all the best in the interview and the shooting.. working with 2 decorated personalities seems to be awe inspiring..? yes it is.. but working with a great personality like your dear self seems to be awe inspiring to them i believe.. you are a very respected personality my precious.. and it is a grace for any one to spend a time with you and it is a privellage to work with you.. they must be feeling the same..
The most wonderful Shobhit passed away.. ;( .. i do feel a deepest sorrow.. even it is predictable .. but it is just a great pain i’m feeling right now.. a new one is added to mine.. i wasn’t willing to talk about my pain as i didn’t want to spoil the mood of the blog.. but i just can’t help it after hearing about Shobhit who had passed just like a morning breeze… and left a deep effect on both heart and soul by his paintings and poets.. it is death again.. this time is my closest friend’s mother.. who had passed away suddenly yesterday.. in her daughter’s birthday.. her only daughter whom she had spent her life in taking care of her after her husband had abandoned them and started a new life with a new wife.. she traveled abroad to work to assure her only daughter a luxury life ( in this part she is resembling my mother except my father had already passed away and the beautiful widow didn’t want to marry and bring to her kids a step father ) .. she had been graduated from an elite school.. she is working as a french speaking guide.. and she had recently married and lived with her mom.. married to someone i don’t trust at all.. but she was dying to marry and have kids before it is too late.. her only supporter - her mother - had passed away suddenly.. and in peace.. left us in a trauma.. and the saddest thing that i’m travelling and can’t be with my friend.. death.. this wild ugly monester.. i’m so scared that he approaches from those whom i love the most.. this beast .. if i just can lock him and prevent him from approaching to my loves .. i always think that he is far.. and he had just attacked to let me know how close he is to me..
The severe pain always come from those who we love the most side.. they either betray us.. or just pass away and leave us in pain and sorrow.. i’m so so sorry to tell you such a sad story.. but just knowing about Shobhit had made me weak to keep all this in my heart.. that is why i needed to bring it out..so sorry to misuse your dear blog.. so sorry.. life’s lessons are just tough.. and they come when we just don’t expect them.. will burry my sorrow in work.. and tomorow is another day.. what it will bring to me .. i just don’t know.. hopefuly better than what it brought today .. i’m so sorry again.. please forgive me for such a sad comment.
Have a restful night.. a peaceful sleep.. and sweet dreams..
Wish you a very great day tomorow.. and everyday.. keep well.. keep near .. and take the best care of your precious health.. and please don’t tire yourself in work.. and enjoy every moment of your life my precious..
Forever.. love.. care.. affection and respect
My brain hurts with sleep. Its demands that I must rest in order to be at my utmost by tomorrow.
So I bid you goodbye and shall be with you very soon..
Congrats to Ash & Abhi, they are a lovely and brilliant couple . I wish them both all the best and many more wonderful years together!

I was so happy to hear that you are in London - welcome to the UK! I hope your schedule for ‘Teen Patti’ is a bit generous and allows you to have a bit of a break too. Hello MrB.
When I read about Shobhit’s passing my head literally started hurting. Very sad! But at least his torments are past now and hopefully his next phase will be a better one.
There was a bang inside my head when I read those lines about Shobhit’s passing because I was thinking about him since yesterday and was planning to ask you for any news about him today. Anyway…
Glad you had safe journey. More excitement awaits you..eh? Aaahh what a life! You are excited and apprehensive about meeting great personalities when you are one yourself. Very endearing, MrB.
Looking forward to more news and pics from the UK.
When will you be coming to Southern California(SoCal)? Whenever you do, you are invited to my humble home for some ghar ka khana. I am sure you have much better places to go to in SoCal, but still..You are welcome at my house anytime..
Have a restful and restorative sleep. Until later…
Love and kisses…

Welcome to UK! It must be a wonderful feeling to visit the institute where Dr. Bachchan did his thesis. I really feel as if you have come close to me. It would be an honour to meet you in person, if by any chance you are visiting Glasgow???
Very sad to hear the demise of Shobhit Kaushal, the child with unique talent, gift of God. I pray to the Almighty God, ‘May his soul rest in peace’ may his family have the strength to face the situation.

Hey there, thanks for connecting with us even with a jeg lag- hope you’re sleeping well!
So sorry to hear about Shobhit Kaushal- may his soul rest in peace.
Hope your trip to London is a refreshing one and bet you’ll enjoy your third visit to St Catherine’s
It would be great to see both talented actors share the same screen space; yourself and Sir Ben Kingsley… good luck with that and enjoy your time in london.
Love, Purvi x
Welcome to England, to London again. Nice to have you here…
I do remmeber Mr Henn from your father’s autobiography. He talked much of him there but the fondest memory I have is of the one where your father walked…in the frozen pond? or river? For the life of me I can’t remember which? Thin ice at that and he got a telling off from…Mr Henn…I think it was Mr Henn? Such a bad memory! Need to re-read the book. I thought it was sweet that your father was not annoyed or upset about the telling off because he realised it was done out of care and concern. I loved reading that in the book. I thought your father showed insight and understanding of people’s character.
So sad to hear of Shobhit Kaushal. So young and so much to live for. But I somehow take comfort in knowing he is not in pain anymore. I remember you saying he was in so much pain before. He is the third death I have been made aware of today. Life, so uncertain, so much anguish for all us to go through…and the only certain thing as of now is death itself…sad isn’t it??
I can’t say I can get excited about Sir David Frost or at the thought of him but I have always admired Sir Ben Kingsley. The thought of you working together does sound exciting!! Two towering giants amongst the greats. Wonderful!!
Must end here as my cousin from Brighton is here for the night! Also had another two cousins today helping me decorate a room. So been a busy, physically as well as mentally, tiring day. But this cousin from Brighton came just this evening so must give her my attention. We are going to watch a film together with Edward Norton. He is good with psyco thriller films. Going to watch one of those now…
…so by the morrow…hope thee sleep well…
Love…

Hello dear Uncle,
Shobhit will be in my prayers and may his soul rest in peace.
Enjoy London’s weather.
All the best for the interview and movie shooting.
I should be off to sleep now as my left ear is hurting me. I don’t know what is wrong. Once in a while it gives me a sudden current of pain. I am flying after a week and this pain, I am just worried because I suffer from ear pressure problems while the flight lands. My family doctor advised me to chew a gum or keep swallowing something to ward off the pressure block in ear and mouth in a low pressure cabin while landing. I tried and it helped, but every time I have to fly I get so anxious about thinking of that severe pain in ears and behind eyes near the forehead and temples.
You take care of your health. Good night.
JaishreeKrishna.
Kind regards.
Dear Bachchan Saab,
Very sad to know about Shobit.
I was happy that you have not used the crude western term ‘Died’ and has said “passing away of Shobit”.
This phrase ‘To pass away’ or ‘guzar gaye’ is an Indian gift to the world which means the soul of the person is constantly on the move and around us.
He passed by this world and has now moved to another world… thats our philosophy.
Thats the reason for ceremonies like ‘Shraadha’ in which we believe that our parted family members’ soul visit our homes in a particular month (Bhadrapad) of the year.
Such sensitive traditions of our culture!
Socho Thakur…!
Dear Mr Bachchan
Joining everyone in the sadness at the loss of Shobhit Kaushal, and the fervent hope that he is now at peace after bringing so much beauty and inspiration to the lives of others.
What fascinating projects bring you to London. However, believe me David Frost is an extremely fortunate man indeed to be interviewing you - and not the other way round. (The recent film and play about him ‘Frost/Nixon’ were both brilliant, and he is gracious enough to say complimentary things about them even though they took liberties with some of the facts for the sake of greater drama, and did succeed in making the story totally compelling).
As ever, do hope we get to see this interview with you, but alas assume this will be for Al Jazeera?
Ben Kingsley is a fine actor and it is always a wonderful prospect to think of you acting opposite an actor who is a worthy protagonist. I found him particularly memorable recently in the excellent gangster film “Sexy Beast”. (Not that the title applies to his personal charms in any way… but… some on the blog may know the direction in which my thoughts are drifting…)
Hoping you enjoy a peaceful and deep London sleep and awake totally revitalised tomorrow and ready to take on everything that London, Cambridge and the film and TV universe can bring on!
With love from Daisy

Hello sir,
Wish u a very good stay in London.
Shubhratri,
Respected Amitji, Its nice to know u r in London. Cooler climes r always welcome! Besides it does hold a great sense of nostalgia for u as u have mentioned. Dr Bachchan had mentioned to my Dad that he was a PHD in Eng Literature despite being such a renowned Hindi literateur. What a multifaceted man he was! I could go on about him forever & wouldnt be able to do justice to his talent! Enjoy ur stay in London. Hope the shoot goes off well. Regards Ramona
Dearest Mr Amitabh,
Yes!i know i would be correct about you going to London.Enjoy the special moments at Cambridge and have a fun time with your movie shoot.Sorry to hear about Shobit kaushal’s passing. My prayers and condolences to his loved ones.
Congratulations to Abhi and Ash on their 2nd anniversary. Many ,many more happy years ahead and all the best in the future.Lots of love and hugs to them.Take care…be warm…sweet dreams and do have a restful night.

Mr Bachchan,
Please welcome me back to your place. Self interest, your affection and equally importantly I am here because of Reeham. Reeham, I can never thank you enough to take pains and really find out if things were fine with me . I love you all. Afterall, we are family.
Beautiful people make life even more beautiful. I am deeply touched, moved and inspired. “The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing”. I LOVE YOU ALL.
Thank you for introducing Shobhit to us. May his soul rest in peace. May God grant his parents the strength to carry on.
Wow! You get to meet Ben Kingsley! Love his work. There is nothing that compares the feeling of meeting the best in one’s fields. I mean, I would love to meet Dr.Watson and even though it is too late now, I would have loved to meet Dr.Crick too!
Hope you are snoring away as I write this and hope you have productive day(s) ahead.
loveyou
Mr Bachchan
Welcome back to London, hope the Filming of ‘Teen Patti’ goes well.
Sir Ben Kingsley, is a part of ‘Teen Patti’ ?
David Frost wants to Interview you ?

Mr Bachchan,
One humble request though not sure if it will work out. Kindly let all the comments be posted in one single page. Its easier to catch up with rest of our family members that way. And most importantly, for heavens sake, please do not let our comments be “rated”. I consider this extremely humiliating, abusive and insulting. By no measure can our feelings, love and affection be rated on any scale of measurement…….
Dear Mr. Bachchan,
Glad to know that you reach your destination safely.
May you have a pleasant stay in London, enjoy your work there.
Sad to hear about Shobhit, not so long ago he was in my thoughts.
May his soul rest in peace. My sincere sympathy to his family.
My love and prayers always to you and entire family.
Saroj.
Dear Sir,
I shall pray for the soul of Shobhit Kaushal. Very sad news indeed.
I am really looking forward to reading about your interview with Sir David Frost and the shoot with Sir Ben Kingsley. Any photos would of course be greatly appreciated, but I understand if there are larger issues at hand (copyrights, privacy and such) that would make it impossible to post them here.
Much love.
Welcome back to the UK, come visit Scotland - there’s so much natural beauty to see!
Rest well.
Best wishes
Sheena
Hey Mr B…welcome to London..!
I had a little bet on that you’d be here..
Maybe Sir David Frost is hoping to coax some sort of a confession out of you, like he did with President Nixon…hmmm….?!
I enjoyed Sir Ben Kingsley’s work in Gandhi. I hear he will be playing the main antagonist, Nizam, in the upcoming Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. Looking forward to seeing the film, and hoping it lives up to the hype created by the game.
Do enjoy your stay in London…
Very sad to hear of Shobit Kaushal’s passing. My condolences to his family and loved ones.
Dear Mr. Bachchan,
nice to hear from you. Hope you have a good time in London. It makes curious for your shooting with Sir Ben Kingsley. It is surely a great feeling for you the college St. Catherine to visit.
Very sadly from Shobhit Kaushal to hear, its pictures and poems made so much joy for us.
But we should think to Shobhit, now he deliverance from the strong pain. Prayers for Shobhit and its family.
Take care, and good night
love always

With lots and lots of respect my dear Pita samaan Amit jee,
So sorry to hear about Shobhit Kaushal . Want to say something more about him and his departure from this world but can’t find the words……….
Yes, I do remember reading from Babujee’s biography that you had visited Yeats in 1973 and when he found out from you that Babujee lives with you, he had expressed something about our Indian culture that we keep our parents with us when they need us the most but thats not how things are done in western culture.
Hadn’t you visited Cambridge some other time with Babujee and your brother Ajitabh Jee as well? I remember reading somewhere again in Babujee’s biography that both of you brothers were telling Babujee while you all were there that — how come Babujee didn’t send both of you there to study? Where do I remember this from??
Yeh aapki sacchi namrata hee to hai jo mujhe 30 saalon se baandh ke rakhe hui hai— Sir David Frost ( I don’t know him) and Sir Ben Kingsley might be BIG but sir, Jo pyar log aapko karte hain aur jo respect aapke liye logon ke dilon mein hai , uska andaaza duniya kee koi bhee shaksiyat laga hee nahin sakti, because for that they will have to go inside my heart and soul and I will not allow them to come in. There isn’t any room for anyone else , even to visit, that space is for you only and will reamin like this forever.
Take care Amit jee and look after your health.
Always with you, Aapka Deepak from Vancouver Canada
Dear Amitji:
Very sad to hear about Shobit. My deepest condolences to Shobhit’s Family.
With Greetings and Prayers,
Rajesh
Warm Greetings Big B,
Hope your Journey is wonderful! Keep Warm!!!!
Your trip to London with Mrs B after getting married……….sounds so Romantic !!!!!
Best Wishes & Hugs from Australia
Dear Amitji,
Welcome to London!! Hope you had a good flight and thank you for connecting to extended family.
The news of Shobhit’s passing was very sad indeed, he was a courageous young man but I’m sure he went home very happy after getting his chance of meeting you and gifting you his paintings, that would have filled his heart with joy. He is at peace now and with Our Lord.
Pleased to hear of your filming ‘Teen Patti’ with Sir Ben Kingsley. What a wonderful complement to have two great stars in this film, and for filming in Cambridge and the chance of visiting St Catherine’s College, this will bring back happy memories of your Father’s time there, see you are never alone, your Dad’s presence is always with you wherever you go.
That was fortuitous you being in London to be asked for an interview with Sir David Frost for his program on India. He will feel very honoured and privileged meeting India’s Icon and great personality and who is immortalized in wax! Wonder, if we might be fortunate enough to see this on the tv channels here or if its only for sky channels, which will be a great pity as not everyone has satellite.
Please take plenty of rest to get over the jetlag and have a good day for your film shoot.
With love & affection,
Brenda

Hello dearest Mr. Bachchan,
Great you have reached your destination, and happy to receive this post.
I have just come back from my uncle’s and glad that now I can settle down with what I love the most…connecting to you.
It was nice reading about Mr. Henn and his remarkable abilities, it is really inspiring.
It must be wonderful as well visiting the same university and entering the same class where you father had studied.
But it is really heartbreaking and saddening getting to know about Shobhit Kaushal, who was introduced to us through his brilliant works. He is in a better place now where there is no pain and suffering. May his soul rest in peace.
Best of luck with the shoot of ‘Teen Patti’…you have aroused my curiosity now…and will be waiting for all the ‘gory details’ to come, hopefully soon.
Actually I am not familiar with Sir David Frost, but I am sure there will be a lot to talk about with you, since you are India’s very important icon.
Enjoy your time in cooler England,
And thank you for keeping us in your thoughts and for writing to us …even with jet lag.
Rest well…and have a peaceful night.
Goodnight

Welcome back to your 2nd home, always so nice to see you write London on the top of your page. Hope you had a safe journey and not to tiresome for you, also hope your companions were more pleasant this time lol…..
Well what a change of weather from 40 degs to 20 well at least for the next few days, must be more bearable at least, even though you are no doubt used to the hot sweltering temperatures.
So sorry to hear the sad news of Shobhit, may God provide ample strength and courage during this very difficult time, may his soul rest in peace. A fact of life, as we all know it, but a very painful one. Thanking for giving us the pleasure of having met him through your eyes, and admiring his talents that he leaves behind for us all. A lost treasure to the world…..
Most be another period full of nostalgic memories, especially as it had been a while since your last trip where your father’s educational presence still lies….. Actually getting into the task that you have taken on board of completing your father’s work, will make this feel complete and spiritually sound, the atmosphere, the environment the sense all one in your father’s memory…..
Hope Abhi and Ash had an enjoyable day all the best again for their wedding anniversary, showing them with blessings.
Best of luck with Sir David Frost, I am sure you will make it a hit yet again as you always do….
Just dont forget to tell us when and what time you will be appearing, dont want to be missing it ???
Have a relaxing and restful evening

Bonjour Mr Bachchan,
I live in the Caribbean, across the globe from mumbai my birth town . After hearing about your blog via some article on the net , I visited it a few months ago and have been revisiting ever since then. becoz not only are you someone who has remained down to earth inspite of your fame , but you are what I term ‘ a good human being’ , not a lot exist in this world .
Your blog shows us that the real person behind the reel persona , is a person whom, I am proud to say ,I respect .
so I just want to say THANK YOU for sharing yourself with us .
Maybe someday if you visit my part of the world, I will have the oppurtunity to meet you .
take care

Dear Amitji Namaskar.
Atra Kushlam Tatra Astoo….
Best wishes to Abhishek and Aishwarya on their second wedding anniversary.
Great to learn about the position and the situation you are in. Would like to know more about Sir David Frost and Sir Ben Kingsley after your interaction with them. Please keep up telling us more on diverse topics while in London. It is so cool to know from you about anything which is beyond our reach.
Tell us more about your father’s days at Cambridge and how you connect him now with the present set up there. To find his name in Register of 1954! Must have felt got some unique feelings.
During my recent visit to Cuttuck (Orissa) in the school (Ravenshaw) where our great Subhash Chandra Bose was once a student, when I saw his name in the attendance register, nicely laminated and on display in the room of the Principal, I was thrilled with excitement and joy.
And yes as requested by another member, rating of comments by EF should be stopped. Why create another class on such a beautiful forum!
Shobhit is immortal by way of his works - paintings and poetry. It is sad that we have been deprived of his new creations. Our deep condolences to his family.
With best wishes and love
sincerely,

Dear Amitabh Bachchan,
Glad to know that you’ve reached your destination safely..
And that an interesting working schedule is awaiting you…
So nicely you wrote, that connecting to the EF is what you enjoy most…
It is the same 5 degrees Celsius here in the morning, which is actually 40 in Fahrenheit.
But it gets really nice and warm by the day and my life style undergoes a transformation -
more time outdoors and less at the computer…
This whole week is a holiday Easter week or Bright week, as it is called, and I hope
to spent some more time with my friends.
Here is a picnic area near the lake with the barbecue equipment and tables installed.
Simple but strong joys of life… A good meal in a circle of like-minded people…
It is so delightful and fulfilling to share the warmth of peaceful and meaningful conversation
with the ones close in spirit !!
Just as I remember you wrote recently about having such time in the company of your family…
As you wrote about your visits to Cambridge and memories of your Father studying there - this theme is very close to me because I recently read about it in his Autobiography. About the family visiting Mrs.Henn, when Mr.Henn had already passed away and about Dr.Henn as a person and a teacher…
*
It is a sad news about Shobhit Kaushal passing away. Also - he is no more in pain…
May his soul rest in peace. I prayed for him and I will..
I wish you to have a good rest and a successful day tomorrow.
Thank you so much for this interesting writing ! & looking forward to your next post..
God bless and take care.
Much love to you.

Dear Amitji,
Thanks for letting us into your world by this blog. We are also happy to know ,you had the opportunity to meet your Dad’s tutor and also to see Cambridge University. We are saddened by the death of young soul- may God bless his soul. We are amazed with your schedule - one day you are in India and then you are in UK. Please do get some rest.

It’s 1.30am now, I’m just done watching Aakhree Raasta and the face-off between your two characters, Vijay and …err…Dad.. Michael - that was it.
It’s been about 10 years since I last watched this movie. It is fascinating to watch the way in which you can play both characters so convincingly. Whether it was Desh Premee, Satte Pe Satta, Don (the real one), Mahaan, The Great Gambler or Sooryavansham, it has been easy to forget you are watching the same actor in more than one role. I can’t think of any actors in the Indian Film Industry today, that can perform the same. You da man! Again.
Can’t wait to see you in action again Mr B…
And so to bed…
Shams
many congrats to the lovely couple.
abhishek - you are a true bamboo. great roots and awesome height.
ash - i like you 10000 times more after your marriage. you were always graceful and confident, but now your sparkle is really coming thru.

Hi Amitji,
I am glad that you have chance third time to visit yr dad’s university.May god bless Shobhit’s soul.Have rest.Take care of your health.

Good Morning Sir. Please take enough rest……..
I heard report on geo Tv pakistan ? that Amitab Bachan had bycotted all muslim from attending of his son abishek with Ash ? is it true ? its understandable the reason of not inviting Salman and Shahrukh and other film personality.
Can you name a few muslim friends you invited for the marriage cermony to prove Geo wrong ?
People like Mehoomd and Salim and Javed all muslim where instrumental in making you a Star or Amitab Bachan that you are now did you invite any one of these also ?
We acknowldge you have full right to invite or not invite persons at your cermonys but is it blanket angaist Muslims that you did not invite from there community? I dont belive that you could stoope that low I hope please clearify as these question must be craming in the minds of millions of Muslims as its in International News Now!!!
this is rubbish..!! and i do not have to give it any importance by justifying myself..
Sir
Firstly regret to hear the sad news of Shobhit passing away, may his soul rest in peace

With lots and lots of respect my dear Pita samaan Amit jee,
You know Sir, I print every day of what you write and keep them in folders and always think that when I am going to be old and would not be able to move around, I will read these folders every day. I was just flipping pages and realized that I didn’ have day 297 in my folder, so as I was printing, I noticed your reply to someone and you are writing regarding Babujee’s biography.
No. 3 you are saying is Pravas Ke diary but what I have no. 3 is called Basare se door. Baat thodi bahut ek jaisee lagti hai…….. shaayad us baag ko dono naam se kaha gaya ho!
Here is fellow well wisher’s letter to you and your reply…….
Take care Sir, aapka Deepak from Vancouver Canada

There is more recently an abridged version of his bio translated in English.. called
In The Afternoon of Time.
It is so sad to hear about young and talented Shobhit Kaushal. May his soul rest in peace. He is in better place where there is no suffering.
Thought to share this beautiful explanation of death which I got a while ago.
Beautiful Explanation of Death
~DEATH~
WHAT A WONDERFUL WAY TO EXPLAIN IT …
A sick man turned to his doctor as he was preparing to
Leave the examination room and said,
‘Doctor, I am afraid to die.
Tell me what lies on the other side.’
Very quietly, the doctor said, ‘I don’t know.’
‘You don’t know? You, a Christian man,
Do not know what is on the other side?’
The doctor was holding the handle of the door;
On the other side came a sound of scratching and whining,
And as he opened the door, a dog sprang into the room
And leaped on him with an eager show of gladness.
Turning to the patient, the doctor said,
‘Did you notice my dog?
He’s never been in this room before.
He didn’t know what was inside.
He knew nothing except that his master was here,
And when the door opened, he sprang in without fear.
I know little of what is on the other side of death,
But I do know one thing…
I know my Master is there and that is enough.
Have plenty of rest sir. Thank you for connecting with your EF after the long travel. Enjoy Sir Ben Kingsley’s company and the shoot. Two most talented actors working together in Teen Patti. Cant wait to see. Enjoy London.
Love

Dearest Amitji
Shortly you will be in CAMBRIDGE.So, for youngsters I would like to commemorate the life and works of Babuji(Dr. Bachchan).
Dr. Bachchan was born as Harivanshrai Srivastava into a U.P. Kayasth family on November 27, 1907 at a small town (of Patti, in district of Pratapgarh,U.P.) near Allahabad in the United Provinces (modern Uttar Pradesh). He was called “bachchan” (meaning ‘child’) at home. He received his formal schooling in a municipal school and followed the family tradition of attending Kayasth Paathshaalas (कायस्थ पाठशाला) to learn Urdu as the first step to a career in law. He later studied at the Allahabad University and Banaras Hindu University. In this period, he came under the influence of the independence movement, then under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi.
In 1926, at the age of 19, Bachchan married his first wife, Shyama, who was then 14 years old. However she died ten years later in 1936 after a long spell of TB at just 24 years of age. Shortly after his first wife’s death, Bachchan married Teji Suri, a Sikh, in 1941. The marriage produced two sons, Amitabh and Ajitabh.
From 1941 to 1952 he taught English at the Allahabad University and then spent two years at Cambridge University in St Catharine’s College, Cambridge. There he studied with the famous English literature don, Thomas Rice Henn, and received a doctorate in English Literature for his work on the Irish poet W.B. Yeats. It was then, that he used ‘Bachchan’ as his last name instead of Srivastav. Bachchan was the second Indian to get his doctorate in English literature from Cambridge University.
Returning to India, he taught briefly and then worked as a producer for All India Radio, Allahabad. In 1955, Harivanshrai moved to Delhi to join the Ministry of External Affairs of the Government of India and there he was closely involved with the evolution of Hindi as the official language of the nation.
Bachchan used to introduce himself as Mitti ka tan, masti ka man, kshan-bhar jivan — mera parichay. (मिट्टी का तन, मस्ती का मन, क्षण भर जीवन, मेरा परिचय) (A body of clay, a mind full of play, a moment’s life - that is me).
Harivanshrai Bachchan died on January 18, 2003, at the age of 95, as a result of various respiratory ailments.
He is best known for his early lyric poem Madhushala (मधुशाला) (The House of Wine), which has been translated into English and many regional Indian languages including Bengali, Marathi and Malayalam. It forms part of a trilogy, along with Madhubala (मधुबाला) and Madhukalash (मधुकलश). Bachchan published about 30 volumes of poetry. He translated Shakespeare’s Macbeth and Othello, Omar Khayyam’s Rubaiyat, the Bhagavad Gita (भगवत गीता) and W.B. Yeats into Hindi. His works include Nisha Nimantran (निशा निमंत्रण), Khadi Ke Phool (खादी के फूल), Ekant Sangeet (एकांत संगीत) and Satrangini (सतरंगिनी). In November, 1984, he wrote his last poem Ek November 1984 on Indira Gandhi’s assassination. His autobiography, consisting of four volumes namely Kya bhooloon kya yaad karoon (क्या भूलूं क्या याद करूं), Need ka nirmaan fir (नीड़ का निर्माण फिर), Basere se door (बसेरे से दूर) and Dashdwaar se sopaan tak (दशद्वार से सोपान तक) (abridged and translated into English as In the Afternoon of Time) was chosen for the Saraswati Samman (सरस्वती सम्मान).
Bachchan was nominated to the Rajya Sabha, the Upper House of the Indian Parliament in 1966, and received the Sahitya Akademi award three years later. In 1976, he was honoured with the Padma Bhushan and the Saraswati Samman for his contribution to Hindi literature. He is a recipient of the Soviet Land Nehru Award and the Lotus Award of the Afro-Asian writers conference. In 2003, an Indian postage stamp was released in his memory.

ADNAN QURESHI
Sir,
May Shobit’s soul rest in peace. I hope he finds peace wherever he is and may his soul be re-born with a longer lifetime and an even better talent. Thank you for bringing to fore such a talent for us.
Sir David Frost and Sir Ben Kingsley - such varied personalities - one we know from the earlier days of TV in India as Guiness Book of World Records host and the other as Gandhi. Both, I am sure, mention the same things about you. It is a matter of time before (I am sure) it will be Sir Amitabh Bachchan and I look forward to that day.
I wish you a safe stay and a speedy return.
With Respect,
Kaushal V
May the Candle of our Friendship burn Forever

if you are my friend i want this candle back
..Shobhit may be you will not be there physically with us.. yet you would rule our hearts whenever we would come across your work in the form of either your paintings or your poetry.. God be with you in the heavens and you be in our hearts for your never say die spirit.. No, I will not cry today.. not for a brave soul who did enough in the only 20 years granted to him for his physical presence.. Yes, I would definitely wish my deepest condolence to the Kaushal ji and his family.. the younger sister and the brother and the mother to bear the loss..
Respected Brother
Sadar Charan Sparsh
I am back to normal routine of life.. after a hectic two day visit to Pune.. hectic without having much to do than the physical presence.. it was the marriage of dear Meesha on 19th.. and did I miss to, mention my fondest love to dear Abhishek and Aishwarya yesterday.. atleast I had remembered them on Facebook by posting the photowork (a new word, I suppose) that I had made at the time of their marriage.. wrongly putting 19th April as their marriage date.. My sincere love to both of them.. may they always feel the intense love for each other and succeed in all the missions in life together including parenthood..
Brother, I have not been able to sustain my love for IPL2 and I could only see the first innings of yesterday’s game between CSK and BRC.. knowing from there that BRC had little chance to recover after allowing 179 to the CSK.. such is the nature of the game of cricket that someone who jolted the RR with his 5 for 5 spell did not manage to get even a wicket.. it is all right.. I respect Kumble yet I also know that some people have made an overrated observations about age factor coming to be more important.. it is the spirit of the game that is most important.. experience does help but can not contribute on its own.. especially not on the field where agile youngsters like Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina and few others of their clan provide the cutting edge over their rivals..
So much for cricket and so little about Dr. Bachchan.. He was the first Indian to earn a doctorate in English literature from Cambridge University.. he would be glad that you have found a new medium in blogging as a way of expressing yourself in the most appreciative manner.. I would not force you to write in Hindi.. I never did.. yet some of his works which are in Hindi I strongly feel that I should try and compile into a DVD.. it is an ominous and arduous task and I would probably need to devote more energy and time if I have to be successful in my efforts…
Love as usual

Dear Boss,
I might go to London this weekend for few days to attend a seminar on heavy lifts and then to India (Mumbai, Nasik/Shirdi, Hyderabad & Visakhapatnam) next week, is there a possibility that we cross each other on our path ?, god knows.
I have never seen you or met you personally face to face, but I shall one day for sure come to your Palace (yeah Palace) at one good Sunday evening, Baba only knows when will that happen, will ask for a glass of water.
GK: The only film stars I met and took pictures with was “Main houn na” team while travelling from Dubai to Mumbai in 2004 Sushmita sen, Amrita Rao, Zayed Khan and director Farah Khan were seated just seats apart from mine in Air India.
Convey my regards and all the very best in life to Abhi Bhai and Ash ji on their welding (yeah…wedding) anniversary.
Best regards & do take good care of your health.

Yeah, It feels nice when you talk about human beings and your past.
I read whole of your father’s book during my recent tour to south india. It was great. Gone are the days when two close friends lie on the cot in the night on the terrace, under open sky and one listens to the poetry of other. Your father used to sing and recite his poems in these silent nights. That kind of intimacy between two friends is no more. Where are the friends to listen to the voice of your heart and exchange a few sweet words? His description of hilly terrains of Dehradun and Mussoorie is wonderful. Those close friends… Oh, gone are the days.
See you again.
Hi Mr Bachchan
Hope my mail finds you in the best of your health and spirits.
Very sad to hear about Shobhit kaushal. He had a remarkable gift from God.Great talent.
All the best for the shooting of teen patti and it’s great that you have another opportunity to visit your St. Catherine College. Can we have some snaps of the place please..?

love & regards
Priyanka Verma.
yeah.. will wait for that post!!!!
Sir,
I read your blogs religiously and needless to say am a huge fan of yours. Reading your blog has infused a positive perspective in my life and looking at things around me. When we say that we aspire to become the best in something, we often say ‘I want to become Amitabh Bachchan of this field’. Similarly, reading your blogs and watching your movies makes me say ‘I want to become Amitabh Bachchan of writing’. Am a copywriter and now own an ad agency in vadodara, gujarat and also write poems, lyrics, and fiction. I’ve studied religions and written a fiction on religion called ‘Let there be light’. It’s my dream to become a renowned writer and I know I will become someday. You keep inspiring people like me to dream big.
Sir, can you share your dreams with us? As in, when you were of our age (am 29), what were your dreams, ambitions, aspirations? Please share something with your EF.
With warm regards
Prakash Gowda
Hello sir,

Dear Mr. Bachchan
Now that you are in London again (and away from the blistering heat), I do hope you would be able to spare some time to have a stroll though the beautiful Regents Park.
Sir Ben Kingsley is an amazing actor. Nobody else would have got any closer to portraying Mahatma Gandhi as realistically as he did. Please say my hello to him when you meet him.
Sad to hear about Shobhit Kaushal. May his soul rest in peace.
I too have some fond memories of my visits to Cambridge during the years I used to live in London. Hope you are enjoying your stay.

I am drying out from the extremely wet and cold day in New York. It was perfect weather for a movie, tonight’s being Satyajit Ray’s ‘Kanchenjungha’. I was shocked to see it was in color. I liked it but it wasn’t one of my favorites. Hopefully I’ll find my cell phone that I lost there when I return to see another film early tomorrow afternoon. That’s not the first time I’ve done that. And I’m sure not my last.
Good luck for your exciting day ahead.
Goodnight .
Love,

It’s shoking news, Shobhit is no more, I can’t believe it, I havenever met him, still I’m feeling so sad, I pray for the strength for his parents and other family members to bear the pain, no word is enough to console parents for the loss of their children. I pray for the peace of his soul.
40 degree is unbearable here in kolkata. Life is becoming tough with power cuts. no rain for last 3 weeks. We used tell our elders who were visiting hill areas in summer for holidays, please bring some ice from there. So, may I request U to bring some cool air from UK and spread it all over India……….. ha ha ha…… just kidding.
All the very best for the shoot with Sir Ben Kingsley and interview with Sir David Frost.

Dear Amitabh,
Though i’m younger than your son i’d like to call u by ur name only because i know only 1 Amitabh…Amitabh of zanjeer, deevar etc.he’s nearly the same age that i’m.so,why call him uncle, sir or anything like that?
well i’m writing for the first time to your blog and two feelings cross my mind simulteneously.
i never believed i’d be able to come so near to you that you might actually be interacting with me.but then my mind said “relax shashank..he only MIGHT be interacting with u”.with so many comments pouring every day what chance does my comment stand to be read and responded.well that’s not something in my control.what’s in my control is to send u my feelings which i’ve done.i’ve so many things to write that i might actully bore you.so, i’ll end here but not before giving you congratulatons on the completion of 1 year of your blog.also tell Abhishek-Aishwarya my best wishes on their 1st wedding anniversary.please also tell Aishwarya that i don’t like her much.
MY dearest Mr. Bachchan,
Since the past week, my thoughts were incessantly preoccupied with Shobhit and Pramod….and I had this uneasy feeling that….my deep condolences to Shobhit’s family….it is definitely a reprieve for him, but his parents will live with the grief of having lost their child in the prime of his life, as long as they live! May no parent ever have to go thru this …..we have lost a child in our family too - my elder brother-in-law’s daughter - all of 21 yrs old…..she had a tumour in the brain, and I see how the family is still struggling deep within, to come to terms with their terrible fate - on the surface, everything seems normal to the undiscerning eye, but 13 yrs down the line, the parents are still struggling to overcome their loss! May He give Shobhit’s parents the strength and the succour to deal with this terrible blow.
Visiting St. Catherine’s where your dear Father had studied and even actually seeing the place where he sat and did his work, in the class and in the library…I wonder what your sentiments at that momnet may have been? And getting to meet his tutor, Mr. Henn as well….I dare say not many have the privilege and the good fortune to meet up with their parents’ teachers like you did! You are really blessed in these matters, Mr. Bachchan!
It was heartening to know that the weather there is cold……this place is like an oven - and coming together with Mr. David Frost and Sir Ben Kingsley…..! I am so happy for you! May you have a wonderful session with them, and may the outcome of these be very satisfying for you, professionally and personally!
Take care and God Bless.
Love always,
Kashmira
For AB,
Leaving a comment (Comment: An opinion or an observation as opposed to gossip, chat and pathological descriptions of personal life and lifestyle) -
I had the opportunity to see the monologue in the temple scene of Deewar, both the one you presented on 10 August at Chicago 2008 and the original in the movie…
The young man in the movie (1975) is agitated and livid as he said, “Woh Aurat, aaj zindagi aur maut ke sarhad pe khadi hai, ye tumhari haar hai…” The impact was a denial of ‘maut’ as a form of justice. “Kya uska zulm ye hai ke …?”
When presentedon the stage in 2008 , the same line sounded as if ‘maut’ is justified, but why my mother?
Another minor observation is that while you always gesture with your left hand in the movie, and you do the same with your right hand on the stage.
Regards,
Sudhir
When Abhi will start his Blog?
you are motivating factor for billion of you admirers. I am one of them would like to share how i remember you everyday and not always for the ‘vijay’ in you. Having been suffering from sthama since past over 25 yrs sometimes it becomes unbearable. why the hell this 2 me? and its your image that relaxes my breathing - when AB can make everybody’s life so beautiful even with his asthama and other ailments why can’t I? you are simply iconic and my ‘inhaler’
Dear Amitabhji
Thanks for writing. Glad to read you are now in UK. Sorry to hear about Shobhit. Surely his soul rests in peace in Gods Kingdom. At this emotional time, we ask for Gods strength and courage to his Parents and all family members and friends to understand and moreover accept Gods mighty plans which we humans , due to our weakness, find it strange and difficult at times to understand.
Best Wishes for the interviews.
Best Wishes for the shoot.
Hopefully you had good sleep and please do take time to rest as and when it is required and always. We understand fully this requirements and would be more than happy if you do so promptly and its just perfect and fine even if you connect to us a bit later due to this. But you are such a caring and affectionate Amitabh that you still find time for us to communicate and keep us informed. Thank you once again. Take care
Sp.Regards

Respected Sir,
First of all,i would express my regards to Shobhit’s soul…cancer is like a menace, which takes a toll over us unawaringly…..Sir,I am writing to you to share one of my poems with you…which i wrote recently…-
‘LETS KINDLE OUR INDIAN NERVE’
60yrs since, Life found a gist of care and love
Come let’s kindle our Indian nerve…
Step back to 1947
Meticulous leaders presented us the Indian Independence…
In the hour of striking midnight
Nehru’s words awakened the Swadeshi might…
The rebellious Era had finally brought us release
From those swindlers who dared to put Indian vanity on lease…
200yrs of painful hollers and fatal agony
The sight of Indian blood on roads gave significance to the unbearable misery…
Bhagat Singh, Bose, Azad on way
To sacrifice their souls to dissolve our dismay…
The mother, the shield, and the nation we are to serve
Thus, in her honour we humbly kindled our Indian nerve….
I REALLY WANT YOU TO REPLY ON THIS SIR…u have never replied to me…but today i’m sharing a part of my collection with you as i think you have the greatest respect for poetry than anyone else…please do so…if you can taje 1minute out of your tight schedule for me…
with best reagrds
Sirji you are too much! A minute in Madh Island and the next in Queen’s land..London! All this though you are dependent on some transport for travelling..I am imagining how it would have been if you had wings!
Prayers for Shobhit Kaushal and his peaceful entry in to the next world..May God give his parents the strength they need.
Have a wonderful stay and I will not be surprised if you write your next blog from some other place..

10) PICTURE TAKEN WHEN INFY WAS STARTED. This picture was found in the album of the clerk who took this picture… The picture was with that clerk only because it was his birthday and he just told everyone to stand together at one place to take a pic. He borrowed a camera from his friend and as he could not tell any of his bosses to take pic, he took it himself… even when it was his birthday.

Hello ,
the links are not getting posted. any problem?
Dear Amitji, It would be just amazing to see Sir Ben Kingsley with Amitabh Bachchan. In my consideration irrespective of all your super duper hits and blockbuster, if i had to select two scene with actors who had matched and had outstanding screen presence, i will select Shakti with Dilip Kumar (Last scene). What an amazing impression everyone has. It was truly the clash of the Titans, and to a lesser extent Mohabattein with SRK. I wonder why Abhishekh is not offered such king of roles along with you. In my view I would rate Dilip Kumar 8/10 and SRK(6/10) whereas 10 is Amitabh Bachchan…The benchmark for all stars.
MY DEAR AMITABH BACHCHAN..
good morning,how are you today?

Dearest Mr.Bachchan,
Firstly, my deepest Condolences to the grieving family of Shobit. May his soul rest in Peace. At Least God gave him relief from the pain and suffering. Pray specially for the parents and relatives who have to bear the loss of a 13 year old. But he will be remembered through his painting surely.
Wow, such exciting engagements and in the cold I envy you. Its sweltering hot here and even with a few April showers the temperatures haven’t come down. Enjoy Cambridge, You are one of the lucky few who can go and visit your father’s university. I remember you mentioning about Mr.Penn in your autobiography. Do let us know when the interview with David Frost is relayed on BBC.You have a good stay in UK and enjoy your day. God bless and Love always.
Dear Amit ji,

Dear Sir,
We have always known that one of your less-flattering epithets is DADDY LONG LEGS…
But what I never knew was that these Long Legs are SOOOOO long…
…that you keep one in Mumbai and the other in London!!!!!!
It looks to me that you’re becoming half BRITISH!!!!
And why not - especially with London’s mayor being one of your biggest fans!
Anyways Sir, please post us some pics of Teen Patti as well as Aladin and also of Rann!
And please release one of your movies ASAP!!!!!!

I have just picked up some of the comments from your blog on Shobhit Kaushal’s death.. I know it is a wasteful exercise.. to repeat what is already available on your day 361.. I hope you could understand.. I can not control some of my acts even if they are not liked by others.. this exercise may not achieve anything for me yet his family would be able to know tha so many on this blog cared for them and for the talented Shobhit..
Those of you who did not like this kind of plagiarism on my part please do not misunderstand me on his death..
..and yes I have to still complete it..

Good Afternoon ! Writing to you gives me the gooseflesh. The one I always get whenever I read or see anything extraordinary .
Without wasting much of your valuable time, I have always wanted to express my desire in watching you play the role of the great Rabindranath Tagore. A role only you can do justice to . My most humble request to you is to give my desire a thought.
Thank you sir for reading my mail . I shall be elated if you reply to it whenever you can squeeze out time from your super hectic schedules.

I am give you very attractive return on your investment I know today I am not big businessman but I know in future I am big businessman Please sir Help me I waiting for your reply
Good Morning Mr Bachchan,
You have brought the sunshine with you for which I am very grateful!! The weather may be a “welcome relief” for you but it is positively a HEAT WAVE by our standards for April- predicted 20 degrees in the capital at peak time! You are about to witness London at its “buzziest” as most choose to savor the sunshine while it lasts.
So what plans for recreation dear Mr Bachchan? Instinctively as part of your EF I want to be able to ensure you have an enjoyable stay here. Are you able to tell us how long you’re staying?
Presently there is a William Blake exhibition displaying his work and paintings at The Tate Britain, Millbank, SW1 if you are interested and have ANY spare time - it is supposed to be spectacular and the only display of his work in London!
Also a Salvador Dahli exhibition at County Hall Gallery, Southbank - You may be less interested in that.
I’m sure you’ve seen and done everything else I know you are no stranger to the city.
Cambridge is also beautiful, but if you have not been there in a while you may find it quite… changed. It is a shame modernization appears to steal the original beauty from some of Britain’s most historic places. Most towns seem to look the same now. I will be interested to hear what you think when you return to your dear father’s old college too.
Lovely story about Mr Henn, I can imagine the type of man he was something of the good old “British stock” in him! I imagine him to live in humble surroundings, lots of old wooden furniture and of course piles of books and tobacco! Well that’s how most English Literature professors are now (at least mine were).
Apologies for my lack of enthusiasm yesterday.. It was a bad day at work and I’m sure you will understand that the news saddened me - but after a good night’s sleep and the benefit of hindsight - I know Shobhit is in a better place.
Best wishes for ‘Teen Patti’ today … a historic day when two kings of cinema (you and Sir Kingsley) meet…
My sincerest welcome to you once again.. ..
Love
Jasmine xx
PS: who knows if that “unknown force that brought us all together” wishes…. I may even bump into you sometime …
happy wedding anniversary to ash and abhi with happiness and togetherness forever…please wish them on behalf of your EF …hope to see them in many more movies …god bless
Dear Amit ji ,
Hope you reached safely……..its always a pleasure to read ur blogs..its almost like a daily routine or rather a ritual……
Wishing Abhi-Ash a blissful togetherness for a happy married life together for “the 7 Jaman’s” to come . May with each passing day thier love grow deeper and they hold on to the test of time and follow your footsteps to be a one man one women couple and stand out in today cinematic world of changing partners.
God bless them Hope you soon become a grandfather which is every parent dream once thier kids get married.
God bless u n all your family,.

have you ever wondered why the british monarchy has never found an indian indian ( much more talented than some peers who have been bestowed with that honor..not sure an honor :-)) ? worthy of that title “Sir”…Not that we really care but all the same..colonial hangovers shall never pass…

Hi Dee..
I just read your message .. “flower ladies” .. very cute!! ha ha : )
I don’t know what to say - unless Mr Bachchan “wants” to be found - looking for him in London may be like looking for a needle in a haystack!
I guess we will wait to see if he addresses the issue about european based EF wanting to see him?… Sounds as though his schedule is pretty confirmed though and (only speaking for myself) I really would HATE to add to his load! I can take heart knowing he does come over quite often and hope to bump into him..?? You guys may want to try that?
We’ll wait and see what he says, if anything
Have a lovely day!!!

Amitji,
What awesome news to have you here in the UK, glad you will be away in cambridge enjoying the college where your father once attended for his doctorate in English Literature..
Im so upset to hear about Shobhit passing on, I loss my Masi to Cancer last week and still coming to grips with the loss, she was giving only a few weeks to survive in November last year when she was diagnosed, she was reacting well to medication and then all of the sudden she was gone…cancer is awful disease with no reversable affect and in most cases only diagnosed in its last stages..how I wish the cure will come about very soon.
I had read that Sir Ben Kingsley and Richard Gere will be part of this final shoot and that Pierce Brosnan was also asked to be part of the movie, but has refused due to his own reasons, this movie certainly is turning out to be a big project, hope its turns out to be a massive hit too..
How long are you here in the UK for?? Hope you managed to get some rest from the jetlag..
All the best always
Kishore

Dear Sir,
I have been away for the past couple of days and this morning I open the blog and am very sorry to hear Shobhit is no longer with us. My condolences to his family….there can be no bigger loss than the loss of one’s child. One can never be prepared enough for something like this. If you are in touch with his family please can you let them know our thoughts remain with them and ofcourse we shall pray for him. May his soul rest in peace. Shobhit has left behind part of himself….his drawings his poems shall always remain with me.
I wonder if I should mention this on a blog. I will because I want to share this with you. About 2 weeks ago my daughter phoned me about an experience she had had. She had been accompanying one of her friends to a physio therapist. Whilst there, an English lady who worked there asked my daughter if there had been someone in the family who had been deaf, she indicated it was an elderly man. My daughter was dumb struck. The lady was talking about my father who passed away a few years ago. Then she mentioned two more things about him which convinced my daughter the lady was talking about Nana ji. Then she said he had a message for my son. The message has now been passed on. The point I am trying to make is this…yes my Father is there and yes he is aware of family life. Never mind this English lady even my daughter’s friend did not know anything about my Father. The ‘Soul’ and its mysteries….
Your Father studied English Literature, that’s what my daughter is studying…. and you might just bump into my other daughter in Cambridge as she lives there and who knows she might just phone and say “mum…guess whom I met…!”
Have a pleasant stay in Cambridge. It is very beautiful. You may wish to spend some time just for yourself and enjoy the peace and tranquility. Make a holiday of it. I am happy for you. God Bless You.
Love,
Daksha

As I hear … I also write..
Oh jaane wale ho sake to laut ke ana..
commentary in between..
Mera sundar sapana beet gaya..
..
meri prem kahani khatm hui
mere jivan ka sangeet gaya..
ankhen ansuan mein doob gai
hansane ke zamana beet gaya
mera sundar sapana beet gaya..
The immortal music of legendary Sachin Dev Burman.. it is followed by
Teri duniya mein jeene se
to behatar hai ki
mar jaayen..
koi to aisa ghar hota
jahan se pyaar mil jaata
koi.. (repeat)
vohi begaane chehare
jahan pahunche jidhar jaayen..
arrey o asmaan vale
bata isame bura kya hai
arrey.. (repeat)
khushi ke chaar jhonke gar
idhar se bhi guzar jaayen..
Does it make any sense to tell you such things as what I listen.. maybe yes.. maybe not.. yes for I do wish to let others to know what kind of music I am listening at this hour.. I rarely put music these days on my PC.. that I chose these two songs for today.. is not coincidental
Maybe remembering Shobhit Kaushal..
No, for the fact that how does it really matter what Abhaya Sharma listens.. how could it interest anyone.. everyone loves to hear songs of his or her liking ..
Yet again.. I wish to add couple of songs to the playlist..
Sukh dukh dono rahate jisme
jivan hai wo gaon
kabhi dhoop to kabhi chhaon..
upar vala pasa phenke
neeche chalate daaon..
..
kya khushiyan kya gham
yeh sab milte baari baari
malik ki marzi pe chalti
yeh duniya saari …
dhyaan se khena jag nadiya mein
bande apni naav..
That is indeed the Kavi Pradeep’s own voice.. and the other song from him I would be listening after this is
Toot gai hai mala (music)
toot gai hai mala
moti bhikhar gaye..
do din rahkar saath na jaane
kidhar chale
toot gai..
…
Yaad ki gathari lye
jhukaaye nazar chale
do din rahkar saath
jaane kidhar chale
..
Toot gai hai mala
moti bhikhar chale
do din rahkar saath
jaane kidhar chale..
OK I should not try to make the atmosphere so heavy yet I wish that science is able to take care of our yong talents like Shobhit Kaushal more than wha is currently possible..
He will be missed and I missed meeting him enormously.. yet I know I have that booklet or should I say brochure.. containing his works of painting and his book of poetry.. that I got for a concessional 200 bucks instead of paying the asked 500 when I went to the art gallery where his paintings and poetry were on display..
Tum na jaane kis jahaan mein kho gaye…

And meeting of three Ace -Sir David frost, sir Ben kingsley and You sir !
with regards
dinesh
Hello there! Sir David Frost & Sir Ben Kingsley, huh? Should be a gr8 working experience for all three of you but it doesn’t lessen the fact that you have a far wider audience.
Listen, whenever I really want to post something important to me, it whooshes off into cyber space.
Normally, doesn’t matter once my reactions have tumbled out of my head. Moreover, it’s a nice niche in the day to rush to your blog and savour your writing - ours hardly matters.
But y’day, after wishing Abhishek and Ash a happy marriage forever, I wrote heatedly about News of the World’s tamasha on Rubeena for sale. I really wanted to get that across. But it didn’t!! Apparently, the site is playing Amrish Puri between you and your chahnewale!
I’m sure it would bring a smile to Abhi and Ash to see the huge number of good wishes they’ve got so am repeating that. The rest - well….no emotional energy left on the subject.
Dear Daksha,
Just read your amazing comment on the ‘medium’ lady. Please may I have her address or phone number? There is someone I desperately want to reach out to , to know if she is happy on the other side.
18 months ago, my cousin lost both parents and ah, cruel universe, her 18 year old son too who had no ailment whatsoever. He just collapsed on the road and was dead before he hit the ground. Whether it was his heart or brain which stopped functioning first, the doctors couldn’t tell. My cousin met a medium quite by chance who said her son wanted to send her a message but the entire family protested against any occultism. They refused to put me in touch although I, myself wanted to contact a dear one. Their arguement is - why can’t the departed reach us directly? Well, I don’t care what the network is like out there - I’d like to do my bit.
Please can you direct me to said lady?
hi amitji,
sorry to hear about shobit . sometimes life is so cruel .
in india its so hot . u must be feeling really great there .
best wishes for abhi and ash . bye . take care

Hi Jasmine,
I completely agree with you and even though I meant it in a funny-jokey way, a part of me was serious too! Obviously Mr B must be ready to meet us and have time etc. otherwise it makes no sense.
I did mean though meeting all European bloggers not just us (in the past i have even called it Big B’s Bloggers’ Bash in Europe!) simply because on our continent the distances are easy to handle and traveling is not that expensive or cumbersome.
I am happy to organise such a meet in Brussels and I am sure you guys will help out if it would be the UK (or Lilly in Frankfurt or another blogger in Paris etc…). Now the million euro question is if he is willing to dedicate time and efforts for such an event. Maybe not this time but the next? Not sure…. the ball is in Mr B’s court now!!!
Love to Mr B and you (yes, flower lady! Hope it was not too cheeky to use that term; just found it so cute that all of you had flowers’ names and I wondered if I should call myself Delia or somehting haha).
Dee
PS: I really liked your last post re Shobhit. It was very well written and I could feel the profound emotions in your words…
May God bless Shobhit’’s soul with kindness

Hello Mr. B, As always its good to read your blog. Its been a while since I logged on.
So sorry to hear about Shobhit Kaushal may he rest in peace….A heartbreaking Story.
CONGRATULATIONS on completing ONE Year with your generous blog! We should be thanking you for your regularity and efforts and caring to write & share, which allowed us to read such lovely writing and get an even better sense of you. I have not understood any of the criticism or any of the negativity, however I suppose the world can’t just be any one way. But A great actor, entertainer writes and shares himself, and we should just rejoice in that fact and that luxury…if you will.
Also Best wishes to Aishwarya and Abhishek on their 2nd anniversary. How sweet! only their second… and Wishing them many many more years of married bliss. A very good looking couple.
All the best to you In London. Looking forward as I always do to some more new films of all of you.
Like the new introductory Photograph. …
A fan since Amar, Akbar, Anthony…was six then, 38 now.
My warmest regards to you and your family, sir. And also my warmest regards to Shahrukh Khan, Rani, Saif, Aamir, Preeti, kajol and Kareena, and few others in Bollywood, whom I can’t stop adoring. Hugs to all of you sir. Hope to get a part in the movies some day and hopefully someday soon. Working towards it.
Sincerely,
Dhritiparna, from New York.
Dear Sir,
sad to hear bout Shobhit.
may his soul rest in peace.
Love & regards,
Take Care.

Yes - you got bit by the three vexacious rules of Blogging.
1) If you lovingly spend ages agonising over something well argued, passionate, literate, pertinent, profound or witty… any small contribution of which you actually feel slightly proud… it will immediately be eaten by the cyber monster and never seen again
2) If in a sugar-fuelled moment you dash off something totally foolish and pointless, which you instantly regret posting, it will immediately appear on the Blog in its full inanity, mocking you for posterity.
3) If late at night you write something unspeakably stupid and trivial and drop-dead embrarrassing… THAT will be the day that Mr Bachchan is replying to comments… and his his awe-inspiring eyes will alight on your squirming contribution…
There’s no point fighting it.. these are the universal rules of the Blog universe.
With love from Daisy
Hello Sir
I have not been writing for a few weeks now. Don’t know whether you got to read my last post, three people who were close to me passed away in matter of 7 days owing to various reasons.
My best friend’s dad passed away in London, he was in pain and one could reconcile oneself. And then 4 days later my uncle (joint family and hence means as much as my dad to me) just dropped dead in Hyd airport, no recourse whatsoever, sudden and final. And then 3 days later the same friend’s Mum passed away in London, stroke after her husband’s funeral. My friend lost both her parents in one week. I have no words to console her. I was torn between my family and people who were no less than family. Bereft, confused, sad, distresses, pained…none of them come anywhere close to what I feel.
And then today you say Shobhit passed away…I was reading your blog all these days …it served as a buffer – could not decide whether I was escaping the traumas death wrought or trying to understand the reality that life goes on.
But today death has caught up even here. I am glad that his pain is over but then why did he have the pain in the first place?
Mind is constantly churning up things for which there are no answers…sleep has been playing hide and seek for weeks now…have to let go of them but unable to…
Sorry
Rachana
My dearest amithji,
How are you?
Very happy to see your post.
But after going thru it felt very sad after hearing about shobith.May his soul rest in peace, & may God give his parents enough strength to bear the pain.Atleast you bought some happiness in his short life by meeting him, God bless you.
I wonder, how , many of the EF guessed that you are travelling to London? Amazing ! really!
I am very eagerly waiting to see you on the big screen.
David frost is interviewing you , the living legend! & you wonder whatever he is interviewing you for? Awwwwww you are sooooo humble!
Glad to hear that you are visiting cambridge, et all. I have never visited london, it is one of my favourite cities to visit, in my wish list. Hope one day i’ll get to see London. Meantime, please post some pictures of the places you have visited in london. It would be a treat for me to see it thru your eyes!
There are soo many EF there in london who are dying to meet you, hope you make time for them, especially those ‘flower girls’. If you meet them I’ll be happy
for them & a little envious too. :(, because i live, here in Mumbai, & I am yet to meet you.
Please take proper rest, & have a lovely day,

I live in Toronto.
Last night I had a dream -
I am returning home after work, opened door with my keys and I enter my Ahmedabad home. That was bit surprise… and on top of that what I see is - my home is full of people and the centre of attractio is this man - big B… yes Amitabh Bachchan YOU. You are sitting there … RIGHT THERE… yourself in person… very casually … dressed in offwhite kurta-pajama and chatting with people. At the same time you looked at me and smiled. I was awestruck standing there starring at you.
You broke the ice and started conversation and told me — “arre yaar!!… blog mein likhate ho ke kabhi Toronto ayein to jarur milana … aur hum yahaan hai to aap aise hi dekh rahe ho!!”
Then follows casual chat with some snacks .. photographs and autographs .. I take you around my apartment and soon you get call from your staff that it was time to leave. You don’t let me leave my home and go down stairs with you to say you good-bye as your staff is already at the door waiting for you.

Hello Mr Bachchan Ji,
Hope you are well. It was nice to read your comments about your fathers days in Cambridge. I guess it would give you a warm feeling to walk the land where your Father once did.
I know that you would have a very very busy schedule, but it is my dream to meet you and would be grateful if I would be able to get a meeting with you during your visit to the UK. If not, then I may have to make a trip to Mumbai :-).

Hello Sir,
Reading you is becomming a habbit now and I enjoy it tremendously…Whats most amazing about the way u post your blog is that u make us feeel that U r also a HUMAN after alll…Someone who is very Real inspite of reel life persona of angry young man..Someone who gets nostalgic by visiting places where your dad studied..someone who gets in awe of people..More than this someone who actually gets tired and needs to catch up with some sleeep….and may be someone who neeeds to be alone at times..
Death is very sad thing sir and it becomes more difficult to comptrehend when some one young dies…Yet its something we got to live with and for…one of the most amazing thing regarding life is tht it goes on..we human beings are very good at replacements…ofcourse it can never take aways the pain of people who leave us but we learn to deal with it…
My days at Patna is moving on quite nicely…And now I am doing things that I enjoy..Moreover it is refreshing to see some development work atleast being initiated in bihar. But I guess we still have miles to go before we sleeep..
Keep Writing!!
Loads of Love

Good Day Mr.Bachchan,
I have been following your blog for a while now. However, this is the first time that I am posting a comment. I thank you for all the motivational and inspiring quotes and stories that you post from time to time. It makes a difference in my life. Thank you.
A friend of mine sent me some pictures of Bombay, that does not exist today. I thought I should share them with you. It is powerpoint presentation. However, I have no option of attaching a file here. Maybe you can help me in finding a way to send that presentation to you. These pictures of Bombay were taken in the year 1910.
Have a good day!!
Romal
Hi Dee,
Thank you very much, I only wrote what I was feeling and so many others have expressed such beautiful emotion for Shobhit - I hope his family get to read some of it.
I understand you - and am a little relieved to be honest I had visions of all of us running through the streets of London in disguise chasing Mr. B in a follow-that-taxi kind of way! ha ha! And then being told off by him when we did catch up!
I would be all for organizing something properly ( Big B Blogger’s bash in Europe sounds good) with his full consent and above all ensuring he doesn’t become easy prey for media and everyone.. that really is my biggest concern!
Let’s leave it with him for now and let’s keep our thinking caps on and above all let’s not give up hope!
Love
Jasmine
aka. “Flower lady” (one of)
Mr Pratap Singh Tomer, I will be at a loss not to meet Mr B. as he is so near and yet so far. That is why you use the word Shame i.e. pity!!
And I am Mrs. Thanks for reading my comment. Pranams.
Dear Amitji,
Namaskaram…..
I haven’t told you lately how much I love and adore you. I just saw the slideshow presentation that was posted on your blog and had mixed reactions to it. Where on one hand I was happy that they are so many out there who love you so much, on the other hand I felt a bit sad as its been my lifelong dream to meet you and I am 32 (going on to 33) and I still haven’t
While for others it just seems so easy to see you in person. Guess some are justborn lucky. I will still continue to hope and pray that someday I will meet you….may be even for a coffee
lol A girl can only hope/dream.
I stopped posting comments on your blog because everytime that my comment didn’t go through the ‘verification process’ and didn’t end up on the site there would be a sense of defeat, so I stopped. However, I do not give up easily on other things in life and decided hope is the best thing a person can have and I do have it and hence my comment (rather letter) is here. I am sure you have no dearth of comments and affections being showered on you but for someone like me its the greatest feeling to have this direct link to you.
Love you lots and more,
Sonia

dear mr.bachchan,
namastey.i enjoy reading your blog and find you intelligent, erudite and eloquent…i suppose you must be to reach a position in life and the world to the stage of fame and standing that you have achieved…you REALLY enjoy, live for and perfect the art that is your forte…all with an ease and fluency that looks EASY and can only be reached after years and years of hard work, dedication and discipline…i write myself and my poetry is everywhere but in a sly, underhand sort of manner…i neeed to see some results, reciprocity, input and output from other creative people with an understanding of creative things…so far all my efforts have disappeared into thin air….my song is the talk everywhere, but in a sly underhand way, most probably accompanied by a wink or some other gesture that needs to be read into to make any sense out of it…logically,i should be sitting somewhere with nida faazli saab talking about my poetry,my musical madness,my divine inspiration….and getting paid for it.what more does any body want, but to be doing something they love that also feeds them…but in life achieving anything demands a sacrifice…and that sacrifice is making yourself into a vessel of truth,if nowhere then your heart of hearets and proceeding to search yourself without making ANY EXCUSES and doing something to the BEST of your abillity and leaving EVERYTHING else up to God.That is all any body knows and NEEDS to know…because when it comes down to the world, when the whole world is dead we’ll ALL be asking what did i have and what did i do with it?..and the answer will be:i wasted it…because,ULTIMATELY,NOTHING remains besides what a man’s intentions were and what ACTIONS he took to compromise his intentions to his actions…my madness is divine,my problem is FROM God and the solution is with GOD.God forbid when God gives HIS justice…what you can do and every body with an ounce of fear of God can do is think what you have and give that…because my question was always:what have you got?please get in touch in whatever way you can,and give me a meeting with faazlisaab and i’m sure we can work something out…i write consistently to the best of my ability….and all i know is i am not seeing the results of my actions…all i see is people reading me and not even saying my name…WHY?please save yourself,me and whoever wants to be saved by giving me what i deserve which is commensurate to my abilities, problems…SOLUTIONS,and my character. lots of love and take care.u can listen to my song on:www.listgujarkhan.com,type ’sohail akhtar aadil’ INside the search box and …what’s the most OBVIOUS for you, only you know…if i understand, fair enough…if not, then apologies in advance….my heartfelt salaams and GREETINGS to all my well wishers and khair-khwaah…if i know who they are…..i won’t give you my website address again if i don’t see some results…but i’ll still be your well-wisher,if not a FRIEND! SOHAIL, 8 rhodes street hopwood lane halifax west yorkshire uk….p.s.the most OBVIOUS PROBLEM is ‘where is the money for MY SONG,that you can catch on the above mentioned website.thanx.have a nice day

Hello Mr. Bachan, Now we know that you are in London. It was a very sad news to hear the demise of Shobhit Kaushal. He had a very unique talent. May his soul rest in peace and May God give strength to his family and loved ones to face this situation.
Wish you the best and have a good time while you stay in London.
Love and Good wishes
Fan frm Toronto
My condolences to Shobhit Kaushal and his bereaved family. May his soul rest in peace. May God give his family the much needed strength to overcome this shock.
I know these words will not bring his life back but I believe that there is a tremendous power in prayers. True prayers reach almighty and get fulfilled. When God gives this kind of tragedy to a family, he also sends the strength to bear.
My prayers again.

Hello sir,
I M Anurag from Indore(M.P.). I am posting my first comment of my life to U sir.I can’t believe that the technology has given us such a great opportunity to get connected with the worlds most famous persons and also with other peoples.
I m feeling very glad to talk with U indirectly sir.I can’t control my emotions, my body is feeling some shaking activity, by thinking about your reply on my first comment of my life(at my e-mail rathoreanurag786@gmail.com since I don’t have my personal blog yet).
Sir, I will be very proud on myself if U will give me your life experiences about any topic (especially on the diffrent types of personalities U meet with and also about yuor experience to meet them).
Sir, according to me U are full of everything e.g. knowledge(of every field), experience and lot’s of many more things….. that I forgot presently. It is countless, your bonds with every colours of life.
Sir, if U find me wrong any where(because I M quite weak in English), so I feel very sorry for all my silly mistakes.
I know it is very difficult to reply every body for U sir, but I really need U’r reply for your guiadence about how to become a good person in our life and how to survive without disturbing or without herting anybody on the EARTH.
Salaam Amit Uncle,
I smiled when I read your post, for 2 reasons…the first because you let us know that you would be out of contact for awhile…very family like and avoiding 600 posts asking where you are. hahaha …and two…your visit to Aja’s university…it reminded me of when my dad was alive…On a hot Sunday morning, during the summer months, all 6 of us (Mom, Dad, me and my 3 sisters) would pack up in the 1969 Plymouth Valiant (which had vinyl bench seats (so it used to burn your legs when you’d sit, because of the sun…God help you when we had to get out…your skin would stick to the vinyl…ouch) and no AC ) and drive an hour and a half to the University of Waterloo, where my dad went to school…He graduated in 1973. He used to take us on tours of the Engineering wing, his classrooms, lab rooms, pubs…He was a P.Eng. As I mentioned in previous posts, he died in an industrial accident Nov 10, 1992 (the day after his 49th b/day and 4 months before his first granddaughter was born). After the tour, he would always take us to Dairy Queen for ice cream.
Funny how little things bring back such big memories…
Much Love
Hello Amit ji,
I grew up in Kanpur listening to your father’s record of Madhushala. Now, obviously I am in USA, do not have it, miss it a lot. If possible could you please send me a copy (CD, DVD, Tape NOT an LP record though) it me. I’ll really appreciate it.
Thank you,

Dear Mr. Bachchan,
I wrote a neat piece of mail to you after reading your post from London,,, just 30 min, back : somethings about your own fond memories, transmission and ethereal bonds between you and your EF,… and submitted it…. but cant figure out where it went ? Looks like the blog is not being friendly to me /// why , sir , I would perhaps be one of your rare fans from Saat Hindustani days…..Anyway ….. do have good shoot with the 2 eminem and enjoy London
So long
Hope this mail goes or else I would be truly disappointed
Anita Dhar
is it true?
Our source added, “Ash was with Mani for the entire day at the hospital. The two spent some quality time together. She took a late night flight back to Hyderabad as she had an early shoot of Robot the next day.”
Was Mani’s illness the couple’s excuse to spend exclusive time together? Our source shot back, “There are these stories doing the rounds that Mani’s hospitalisation was an excuse for Abhi and Ash to take off on a holiday.
I am overwhelmed…still recuperating from getting b’day wishes from you…..But unfortunately…my laptop at home had a bunch of viruses…so I had to restore the PC…but right now I dont have an effective antivirus……so thats why there was this delay in writing to you…but I have read all the blogs and comments…truly….
I am eagerly waiting for teen patti……would love to see you anyway….I am awestruck at your modesty…….comments about Mr Frost…let me tell you a small incident…When I landed in San Antonio, texas, 2 yrs ago, I got a cab to take me to my residence and the cab driver was a Moroccan…and after 2-3 min..he asked me if I was Indian…and I said yes….then he said whether I knew Amitabh Bachchan…and I said…no Indian on this planet would not know him…and then he told me that he regularly watches your movies…and I asked him how he loved u with the subtitles…some subtitles do not convey the depth and feeling of your dialogues…as they would convey to someone who understand hindi……
So if a Moroccan cab driver in the US can know you and be your fan…I cant imagine any country on this planet…who have not heard your name……
Please post some pictures with Sirs Kingsley and Frost….
More later..Wish me best of luck…I have a talk tomorrow about patients with developmental delay and mental retardation…..
Love
Alka

Seems like you won’t be writing today my dear friend. O well, I find myself quite upset by Mr.Sunil Sharma’s remarks. I can’t believe the kind of things you have to deal with! This is just crazy….
loveyou
Hi Amitabh,
I find much composure and respect in your way of writing. Do you believe that one cultivates it naturally with time or do you take particular attention to draw esteem for others?
Maybe it is my daily communication with western people here that brings me to find your writing so serene.
Cheers,
Sham
LOve your blog sir,wud be happy if you could translate ,or should I say explain the poetry by great Mr.harivanshanrai ji .Everytime you write something but I cant understand it fully bcoz I am little weak in hindi ,Will be verry happy to enjoy it fully.Thank you………..

Dear Amitji,
I’m extremely sad to hear about Shobhit’s demise - such a talented young lad who had so much to live for. I am glad that you were able to spend time with him and bring joy into his life…Life can be so cruel and unfair sometimes. May god rest his soul in peace. These days i’m just hearing such terrible news about my relatives too…words fail me right now on this sad topic…
I hope you’re doing well in London and enjoying the wonderful sights of Cambridge - I had visited the campus years ago and loved it! Such a beautiful and peaceful town too.
How did the shoot go with Sir Ben Kingsley?. Wow, it will be an amazing treat for us to see you both together. With regards to Sir David Frost, you wrote “Such an important personality, what ever would he find talking to me” - my simple answer is ’sooooo much’. You are a living legend sir with such incredible knowledge. If there is a documentary on India, I am sure people would love to see you in it - I know I would! I am such in awe of you sir - you inspire me!
My love to you - have a good day!
Very Very congra888888888ssssssss to both Abhishek and Aishwarya for Anniversary …

A return after a long gap on your blog. I had stopped reading it for some time for reasons i really dont know, Maybe because everything you wrote on your blog was in the press the next day. But today i read the flavour of the blog that drew me into reading it in the beginning , the style of writing ,the insights into your past more than the information the feelings that go with it. There is great inspiration and wisdom we draw from the elders of our society.
As always impeccable english and a pleasure reading!
Cd you pl tell me whats happening ,everytime I submit a comment it doesn’t come on ,Cd you pl suggest the best way o submit a comment.
Hi sir,

W.B.Yeats and Occultism’ - Your father spend quite some time researching Occultism and theosophical socity. Wondering what was your experience with Theosophical Socity? or did you ever get the chance to meet ‘Jiddu’? Some how, I always felt you have this great presence because of Jiddu teachings and your continous meditation on watching your thoughts … very intrested to know your comments on this

it is a high yield investment program. Comparing with others, I do it successfully.

Hey very nice blog!! Man .. Beautiful .. Amazing .. I will bookmark your blog and take the feeds also…
Hello webmaster I like your post ….
I keep listening to the news speak about getting free online grant applications so I have been looking around for the best site to get one.:)
I just booked a trip to London!!! If you are planning a trip make sure you use http://www.1000travelsites.com to find the best prices for flights and hotels. They search pretty much every travel provider on the web in a matter of seconds! Then they list the prices from all of the travel providers on one page so you definitely get the lowest price every time. I’ve tried other sites like this before, but this one aways has the most listings and the best prices. It’s like the google of travel searches.
some very interesting points… but i think your research and bias leaves a lot to be desired… then of course, that’s just my opinion…
have a great day… definitely a thought-provoking post!
Hello, thanks for this fantastic blogg, i really find much new things on it and i really loved the design of the blogg. I found it on google. I also want to wish you a happy new year.
