Most welcome on day 224…….hearts have started beating again…..Otherwise the concluding line of Day 223 have kept every one disturbed in last 24 hours…!
Though Indians have paid a big cost….because sometimes the deal turns out to be costly….but look at the other side it, we should be thankful to the coward terrorists………who attacked Mumbai…..they did something unknowingly…..for sure they would have never imagined…They have done what our politicians could never do during last 61 years…..The have brought all Indians together…….!!
Every one is out on roads in Mumbai…!!
Mesmerizing….Awesome Patriotism has taken a real shape….!!
India is One……..No Hindu…..No Muslim….No Sikh…No Christian…..
We all are Indian………!! Very first time….
I am sure such protest will take place in every nook and corner of India…
We must pledge that all Indian would remain one forever….irrespective of Caste, Creed, Religion and Region…we must expose all Sick Politicians….this is the right time to feel proud for being only Indian…..!!
I am sure all politicians, terrorists would have never expected the historical unity in all Indians………….!
All Politicians and terrorist organization must be shocked now….
Lets keep the spirit up and be only Indian…….

Dear Mr. Bachchan,
I am glad that media has got off from ribbing your blog about the gun under the pillow. I agree with you that the pedantic Indian media is equipped only to write and talk about salacious Bollywood news. It certainly does not understand eloquence of a man like yourself and the impact your words have on millions of folks like me.
I too was extremely saddened, angry and fearful watching the Bombay tragedy unfold over 3 days. I did not know what to do and was not able to sleep. But, after reading your blog, I went and purchased a gun myself. Unfortunately the system of our country doesn’t allow commoners like me to get a gun license - therefore I had to settle for a “desi katta” that I was able to get from my mohalla Bhai (as an unemployed person that is all I could afford). And boy did it help! I have been sleeping with the gun under my pillow for last two days and have felt peaceful and secured like never before.
Bhai who sold me the katta tells me that with an AK-47 under the pillow the sleep is heavenly and he guarantees that I will fear no one ever again. So, my three other friends and I have decided to put our kattas to a good use. We are going to extort money from people - there are plenty of people with money in this city and soon we will save enough money to buy AK-47s. Boy! that will be something. No fear, no sadness, no regrets.
I wanted to get your views on this as well. Have you any experience with an AK-47 or other such weapon under your pillow? Did it empower you as I am told?

PS: Eloquence is when whatever you say is perfectly understood by the lowest common denominator in the target audience. When you communicate in cryptic metaphors that only D.Litt.s or high brow intellectuals like yourself can understand, it is called “intellectual snobbery”. People of public influence like yourself have to be cognizant of what they say or write and what potential impact it can have on not so enlightened ones in the population.
PPS: For a self-professed intellectual like yourself, your comments about Clinton Global Initiative were rather shallow and uninformed. CGI is helping the cause of poverty and disease all around the globe including India. I am not aware of you doing anything of the magnitude or sincerity ever (even in India). A li’l more gravity is expected from a person of your stature.
PPPS: Mr, Bachchan: the fact that you ‘moderated out’ my above comments prove to me once again that you are nothing more than a self-centered coward. Given the quality of comments and language of posts on this blog I think the only reason is that truth hurt. I am glad though that you atleast read my comments to moderate them out of your blog. Now, be a frigging MAN (must say a really lofty expectation!!!) and own up to the fact that you are nothing more than a snob, who when cornered by media for use of wrong words/sentiments countered it with intellectual belligerence.

nothing was moderated.. but ill informed is not a reason to become caustic and abusive.. You are unaware that Bill Clinton and CGI were first invited by me and other like minded people to India as a first some years ago. Then we also contributed to the cause at another event of his.. There is more than just an acquaintance with him. Not going to Hong Kong at this hour was a decision that had his concurrence. There will be another occasion for it as also the LIve Earth event at a later date.
The gun under the pillow I gave an explanation for in subsequent post. It was a symbolic gesture denoting loss of faith in the system. I too before acquiring the gun have slept with the renowned ‘katta’ in my earlier years but for a different reason. It had nothing to do with empowerment.

When I browse through the comments on the blog,I kind of get a mixed feeling. I feel happy that Mr. Bachchan has the courage to speak out his mind even at the cost of losing his image and inviting wrath of the “you know who”. Isn’t it the sign of a real Hero? To start with an insignificant situation compared to Mr.Bachcha’s position of vulnerability, just try out speaking the truth on the face of your boss as to what you think of him or to one of your nagging customers,as the case may be, and you know how difficult it is to be uncompromising at the cost of one’s self interest. I am sad because the fellow bloggers have not been able to understand the spirit behind his thought process.Pardon me for being rude, but half of the contributors are busy patting Mr. Bachchan his back. The rest in criticising him and in some cases ,bloggers are hell bent on letting Mr..Bachchan know their literary talent,or for that matter ‘how knowledgeable they are’.
Some of you are looking for a leader in him. Some are asking him to give them a forum. Many of you have been advising him what should he do,what he needs to do,what initiatives should he take..
Have we ever asked ourselves What should we do?
Don’t you all agree that Mr. Bachchan is already doing his job in his own way.Like a lighted match stick he has ignited the intial fire within us. It is now our responsibility to channelise that fire, in an appropriate manner. No uncontrolled anger. No unnecessary heroics.No wastage of time in anti-establishment pen pushing. No discussions in your living room with a drink in your hand.. See how can we actually contribute in our small way to safeguard our country. (Remember the saying?..”Ask not what the country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country”.-J.F.Kennedy). Yes ,question those who run the system. We have every right to do that. Take appropriate steps available to us democratically. But please do not stop there. We will have to act in our own centre of influence rather than talk about areas on which we do not have direct control.
On an average there are 1000 + bloggers on this site on a daily basis. Assuming 50% of them endorses Mr.Bachchan’s views, why can’t we spread the views we believe in ? To at least 10 people a day. That will be 5000 people. 5000 will become 50000 on the 2nd day. Hence in no time the entire nation will be covered. Does Mr. Bachchan have to come to the media to do that? Will he have to spoon feed us and tell us what we need to do? Give this gentleman a break. HE IS DOING ENOUGH ALREADY.
ACT,ACT,ACT. My dear friends. Contributing your views to the blog is not enough. This man is already a leader. He doesn’t have to come out with a microphone in his hand to wake us up. Just take the spirit of his thoughts. And you will understand what I mean. My plan of action is mentioned in comment serial no.45 .Day 221. Come out with activities in your own areas. Just start. Rest will follow.

Please allow me today to use this blog to write few important issues for everyone of you to read and if possible to forward it to other like minded citizens of India and finally if someone from you all out there in India (there will be many, I know) who have access to The President of India to make a print out and forward this letter to Her Excellency.
Something about me, Friends I don’t stay in India due to my commitments towards my family and working overseas for almost two decades now, I could not find a proper job which shall be fitting to my education level and profession in India through which I can support my family, I had no other option but to work overseas, Iam thankful to the President of India to give me a Passport, otherwise I don’t know what would have been my family condition in India, thank you - Your Excellency.
Watching TV News channels, reading online News and every where only seeing that people need is SOLUTION from this government, they need a change.
1. What changes are we all talking about?
2. Do you have an idea?
3. What solutions are there?
4. Do you have an idea?
5. What options do we have?
6. Do you have an idea?
7. Do we have an immediate solution to this crisis which is building up?
8. Does anyone have an idea?
YES , YOUR EXCELLENCY, I HAVE A SOLUTION FOR US ALL WHICH FITS THE PRESENT AND THE FUTURE OF THIS COUNTRY:
I request, plead along with you all who are like minded people with all the due respect, to:
To,
The President of India, The supreme commander of the Armed Forces and to the First Citizen of India to please do the following before its too late:
1. Terminate the present government immediately, it has failed to an extent that the entire population of this country does not feel safe in their rule, it is evident and it’s showing.
2. Bring in President Rule for the entire country in every state and Indian Territory with immediate effect.
3. Bring in High Ranking Officers of Armed forces whom we all trust and have faith to take over from the present government and let these brave, patriotic and sincere officers under your command occupy all the high positions and let all the good IAS to support them to run this country and our manage our borders.
4. As for the reply to Pakistan, I am damn sure that once the above is immediately done, the reply will clear to them and also rest of the world, that India will not take it lying down. (You are smart enough to read between the lines here)
5. Finally, delay the forthcoming general election until the current heat-up atmosphere is stabilized and also the on-going world financial turmoil is normalized.
6. Meanwhile setup a committee to permanently ban/blacklist, terminate and imprison such useless fake and corrupted politicians, officials who had not carried out their duty, as per their oath taken in your presence or in the presence of your state governors.
7. Then will this population of India, which is now asking for CHANGE, will be satisfied with your position as The President of India, Your Excellency You Have A Opportunity To Prove Yourself, Your Position, We Are All Looking For Your Action As You Being The Head Of The Family, Don’t Let The Present Situation Further Prove Your Position As “Rubber Stamp”, Please Don’t Let Us Down. Show the world what Even A SINGLE WOMEN OF INDIA can do in this testing time.
8. After the above is done, which we are sure you can, given the powers you have in your possession, get only the true patriot politicians with good education, good character background, who believes in One Nation-One Religion-One Cast: INDIAN, to enter/submit their nomination, this will be ensured and scrutinized by election commission, who will be sole responsible and answerable to the citizens of India, if in future , if, it is found that the candidate was a fake, the election commission shall be answerable.
9. Then we all go for election with just two political parties: a) All India Party and b) All Bharat Party.
No Congress, No BJP, No DMK, No TDP, No Trinamul etc..etc…to avoid Blah…Blah and more Blah….Blah.
10. The party which gets the mandate shall be the ruling party and the other as opposition.
11. And last but not the least The President of India should also be elected by Transparent Public Voting System afterwards, he/she shall not be selected by MP’s or the ruling party as normally done.
WE NEED THIS CHANGE, THE SOLUTION IS HERE

I wouldn’t say I’m your greatest fan, but I do respect you greatly. There’s one thing I don’t understand though…you are so respected and loved and honoured in India. You hold good morals and ethics and from what I read and see, are quite sincere. Is it your humility or fear or hatred of Indian politics which stops your from joining and making a difference? I notice that a person so intense and rational, you, also have lost the reasoning and got carried away in sentiments.
Its a fact that we are Hypocrites to the core. One channel in media starts a debate that “enough is enough” and all the people “clad in the latest fashion wear and copied accents of the westerners” start chanting in a chorous as if reciting Sunder Kand with the tune of the Mandli. Your comment that an englishmen follows the traffic rules even at odd hours in night is absolutely contrasting to your own statement about the abashedness of Harbhajan and Gambhir. Just because a cow or a bull relieves itself on a busy road does not give us the justification of pissing on a roadside pillar.
The fact of the matter is, we are all very very very confused and, being Hypocritical, are out finding some way of demeaning others, may it be politicians or the administrators or the security agencies. We condemn a film maker for touring the place of incident but are holding an exclusive program with the page 3 people at the very same venue and indulge in lambasting all and sundry.
I pity every one who is out there uttering whatsoever he/she does not mean or practice. I am in South Africa and find Gandhi to be the only person who saw reason and practiced and preached reason. An eye for an eye is what all the so called intellectual, including you Mr AB, are preaching, the darkness is sure to descend if you all do not shut up.

well pratap, ur solutions seem fine but i would like to say that our democracy is our prizest possession cant and shouldnt sacrifice that by bringing in the army to rule (thats what happened in our neighbouring country) and today they have no respect in the international community.
we should try to strengthen our democracy by voting the right people. all the governments in the past and present have failed us on terrorism, so we should be more alert and make some definitive changes. these are only my opinions.
