Just back from another night shoot and action… speeding cars, jumping on bonnets, whacking the villian.. Exhausting and tiring..
Its little Agastya’s birthday, 23rd November. My grandson.
But of that later. I must to the gym in the morning early, so must retire. Though the hours will be not at all substantial.

I see you’re still the action hero. I can’t wait to see you whacking villains again. And what is a bonnet? I hope this doesn’t last too much longer due to the health concerns of all those who love you. And now you won’t even get enough sleep. Take it easy at the gym. I had been curious as to whether you had returned to your workouts.

Dear Mr Bachchan
This is a crazy lack of sleep, I am really worried. Exercise and activity are good, no question, but the body also needs time to recover from exertion, to rest and repair. If you deprive the body - and mind - of sleep, how can this happen? After a grueling night shoot your schedule should allow for later rising. I am really unhappy at the thought you plan to be in in the gym in just a few hours.

PS to Rochelle - the bonnet is the front of the car - I think it may be called the “hood” in the States. And I believe you call the boot (where luggage is stored) the “trunk”? I love these transatlantic linguistic conundrums.

I sit here, in that in between time when it’s seems too late to submit to sleep and quite frankly, too early to breakfast. Chucking back another gulp of cranberry juice, and plugging away at my work. Word by word, yet another page completed…
I’ve realized I’ve been looking to you, Mr. Bachchan, to pull me up when I slack. You’re my secret weapon against faineance. You do it by example and most excellently. More significantly, without even realizing it. It’s a wonder, isn’t it? Across this nebulous web, you stir and rouse actions in strangers. It’s a mighty powerful thing to invigorate another so easily or perhaps it more aptly reflects my malleability to influence. But when the overall effect is positive, it’s a notable trait, no? Note to self: Ponder this later when much more awake.
My meandering point is… just when I feel like reaching up and clicking the red box up in the corner of my screen, submitting to some dream which will no doubt crumble into nonexistence when I wake much later on the other side of noon – I realize the main man just came back from a night shoot, wrote a blog, and now will further deprive himself of sleep and go to the gym before yet another time-crushed day begins.
Thank you for the inspiration. It isn’t that if you can do it, I can too when so clearly there’s much you do that only you can. Your talent, your spirit, your life force is motivating. It’s because you do all you do, that I want to try to do more. I may not be able to make the most of my endeavors as have you, but I’m certainly stirred to try harder. Until then, I dedicate this weary hour to you.

अमितजी…..तेज कारें, बोनट पर उठा-पटक, खलनायक की धुलाई वगैरह वगैरह. पिछले ३५ वर्षों में आपने यह सब न जाने कितनी बार किया होगा. लेकिन, जो बात एक अच्छी पटकथा व बेहतर निर्देशन तथा छायांकन के जरिये की जा सकती हो, उसके लिए हर दूसरी फ़िल्म में इतनी गैर जरूरी मार-धाड़ पर इतना जोर क्यों? मैनें अक्सर देखा है, कि हिन्दी सिनेमा के अनगिनत घूँसों व गोलियों की कभी न थमने वाली बौछार से कहीं अधिक नाटकीय व प्रभावशाली अक्सर अंग्रेजी की वे फिल्में होती हैं, जिनमें बेहतर सिने-निर्माण के जरिये नाटकीयता को दर्शाने का प्रयत्न किया गया होता है. पूरी कहानी में मात्र एक शारीरिक झड़प या दुनाली से निकला एक मात्र कारतूस भी हिन्दी फिल्मों के दस हजार फायरिंग राउन्ड्स वाले दृश्यों से कहीं ज्यादा रोमहर्षक व दर्शनीय साबित हो सकते हैं!

First of all i feel really sorry for ur uncle’s death.I just read 2day on net-newspaper.
and now i must congrats u for the success of ur son’s film DOSTANA. what a brave decision he took to play that character.Hats off to him.He is having such a gr8 comic timing..my goodness i never ever thought that he can be so powerfull and commandable while playing this kind of character. I think he is the most versatile actor in his (and ofcourse 5-10 yrs older) generation. The way he has played characters in Yuva, Dhoom, bluffmaster, Guru (greatest), KANK sarkar(1&2) and even in Nach ..he has proved himself that “HE IS THE MAN, MADE OF DIFFERENT METAL”. The best thing abt. him i find is .. ye sabhi kirdaron ko abhisek ne bahut hi SULJHE DHANG SE se nibhaya hai.na to kabhi kirdar ko apne upar haavi hone diya hai aur na hi kabhi kirdar ke upar khud ko havi kiya hai.. i don’t know how to explain this ..the bottom line is in these films the director-actor combination,their understandings ..have been gr8 and it shows in the film. God bless him.

Amitji in all your shoot please tell your co-villains that they should refrain from any real punching because Coolie repairing is still on.
Some of the shots become Historical people never forget them. Like your band baja shot of Sharabi. Whenever I attend any baraat I try to figure out who is that Romeo calling ‘Meena…’ One lac per tear and what a loss.
Birthdays are also days to remember and some odd one remains embedded always. Honestly I too remember one of my birthday not for its celebration but my excitement. My father asked me what I wanted for my birthday and I said Seetafal(custard apple). When he returned from the bazaar on his cycle sweating and too tired I saw my seetafals on top one of the bags hanging on cycle handle.(in those days people carried their own jute bags and no plasic or polythene was used)Before he could park his cycle on the stand I shouted seetafal seetafal seetafal aagaye and I put my hand on one or both in the bag and took two of them. My father kept his cycle and then gave me one big slap of my life. Both the seetafals were strewn on the floor smashed up in bits and pieces. I had a terrible crying birthday and till really my own children started celebrating my birthday I never celebrated mine. 29th Nov will be yet another anniversary of my birthday slap.
We must allow the elders to settle down before expecting anything. Agony of a tired man should be allowed to come to terms. So Amitji always post your blog after adequate rest.
I too have slapped my son once when he wanted balloons when I was engrossed in my miseries. He also remembers it because of that maiden venture of mine. I am paying the price because I never say no to him for anything he wants. The boy is very sensible and from childhood age of 4interested in electronics and how things work. In his school project 4years back he devised a project where from your mobile you could operate your household electrical items like fans and lights etc. It was well reported in local papers. And my acccoustic knowledge is enhanced by this boy a computer buff. Sorry for praising my son but he deserves it.
Me too made my father proud and did well in academics and professionally. I hope everyone takes care of birthdays with cakes and not seetafals.

As I have said before, only you know what is the best for you professionally and personally. But such hectic schedules, odd working and sleeping hours are bound to take their toll sooner or later, unless one is superhuman. It might be a good idea not to take too many chances as you can not easily buy good health in the market, you have to make a determined effort to maintain it by taking care of your diet and lifestyle.

I had jokingly said if you are awake and you did got up early in response or otherwise! What is it that is between us!
Oh! Before I get further delayed in my wishing the little Agastya the very best on his birthday yesterday, please extend the love affection and a load of best wishes to the grandson! May he also shine as brightly as his great grandfather, grandfather and mamu abhishek. That he is born into such illustrious family all that I wish is believably possible yet there is no harm in adding my own blessings to the little soul Agastya. How old does he get now!
Now a word of sincere advise that actually follows after Subhash’s observation- take little better care of your own physical self, putting yourself in unexpected and not so essential odd hours of working is actually not a good habit! Though we all know that you take everything in your stride and emerge supreme from any situation, what if some of us not so superhuman try to emulate your path and destroy our physical well being! No complaints this! yet a simple piece of request from a younger brother who is concerned of your health!
I did get to read a couple of beautiful sermons from BK Usha, the priestess from Brahma Kumari is one bestowed with great oratory powers, I have had the opportunity of hearing her on more than two occasions in Mount Abu. I have also had great personal discussion with her on one of my visits courtesy Pramila bahan of our department! Theirs is a great organization and I propose that one should atleast not miss the chance to visit their superlatively spiritual headquarters at Mount Abu! It would be a great experience!
I now take leave of you now, I do not know which poem did I mean when I said I shall post tujm mere liye in a day or two in one of the posts of last night which was copied from my blog, did someone add those lines on my blog and they got copied! I hope it should have been tum mere liye, or some such thing, I do not remember having written any such poem unless it is a title of some Dr. Bachchan, despite painstaking effort on my brain I could not reconstruct how those lines could have got their! Saw Dostana yday and loved it..as if Karan Johar, leaving all his inhibitions, made this movie with heart. Dil Chahta Hai with Priyanka instead of three guys around ..Abhishek’s terrific performance reminds me of his movies like Bunty aur Bubbly, Bluffmaster etc etc..Priyanka is more than just a glam girl and John as usual, best defined by Kajol, expressionless.
This movie is way ahead of its time to be digested by Indian audiences since the mass viewership happens outside the select metros where one can buy the story so comfortably.
I was moved by the bonding depicted among Abhi, John and Priyanka.not to forget Bobby outsmarting Abhi and John so cleverly. Friends are forever.
It has made itself to the list of movies which I watch so often when I feel low…:)

When will be Bachchans official web site become operational? You’ve blog, Abhi ha few web sites with Aish none. She used to have two or more with maximum hit rate. As long a she does movies, she needs some kind of interface to interact with audience. Convey my congrats to coming back to Bansali’ s movies. Some fans of Abhi and other media is accusing her ignng opposite Hrithik. I feel she is more happy for doing Bhnasali’ movie rather than Hrithik’s. I am glad fo her. Abhi’s fans should relaize Abhi himself mentioned in many interviews support to her. She had achieved so much in career front , everyone should appreciate instaed of believing gossips. Yesterday i had a long.. hectic day … it was the last day in the tour.. the tour leader felt a little pain in his chest… i was so worried about him.. but he told me that he will have a long holiday and he’s going to rest himself..
The guys were very excited as they are going inside the great pyramid of Giza.. built by King Cheops.. 4450 years ago… it aws so col in the early morning… and a lot of japanese tourists groups.. i met all my friends and teachers who are still working as guides… but i had a debate with one of my friends about you dear.. and i was shcked by the way that one insists on his point of view without allowing the others to express theirs .. as if his is the absolute right.. he didn’t even want to HEAR others… but i know he is a good boy.. no one is perfect..
The guys were so happy to ride camels… which are by the way not an egyptian animal.. neither camels nor horses.. we don’t have a camel or a horse ancient gods… the ancients selected the animal or bird figures for their gods from the surrounding enviroment.. these animals and hens as well had been imported from Asia 3500 years ago…
I took them nice photos kissing Sphinx.. then we visited Saquara step pyramid… the oldest constructure built completely from lime stones all over the world.. it’s close from inside as the burial chamber is on 33m. depth under the pyramids.. but they had enjoyed a walk around it ..and the new museum in the area where the great architecture Imhotep’s bronze statue is exhibited.. he built the step pyramid for King Zoser.. he was very brilliant in different sciences… and became a high priest by his own efforts which had been acknoledged by the king and all egyptians who later worshipped him as the god of science… there was also exibited the oldest found royal mummy all over the ancient history…
We visited Dahshour’s bent and red pyramids.. they were inside the red pyramid which considered the oldest REAL pyramid shaped tomb built by King Senefro.. it was the first time for the ancient architectres to use the red granite stones brought from the far south Aswan’s quarries to cover the ceilings and the inner walls of the chambers with it.. it was so hot inside and they were very exhausted..
The last place was Memphis museum where the great staute of King Ramse 2nd and the great marble sphinx statue of queen Hatshepsut were exhibited…
I accompanied them to the airport.. godbye with hugs and tears.. god… i hate separation and goodbye… but it’s life cruel law..
I met my cousin who is living in England.. but came in a short visit.. to help him in shopping.. we returned back at 9:00 p.m.. he was kind to help me in scanning my pictures and uploading them to BigB group on facebook… i read Day 214 ’s blog.. sent an early comment… then fallen asleep while watching ‘ Ek Ajnabee ‘…
It was enjoyable the the last thing i do before i go to bed is reading your words… hearing your voice.. looking at your face… so sweet..

The otherday I came across an “APPEAL” column in Bhavas Journal, dated Aug 15th 2008, where it said a lady by name “Mrs. Julie” is suffering from a progressive neurological degenerative disease and ovarian cancer. She is from Banglore and adopted by FOSA humanitarian hospital, Banglore. The article says she had cared for you when you had a fatal injury during the shooting of “COOLIE”. Since the hospital charges have increased she has been discharged and bed ridden.
I wanted to bring this to your kind notice, because i believe you will and can help her out.

Thanks to Daisy M, I now know that the bonnet and the boot are not just articles of clothing. Hindi isn’t the only language I need to learn for this blog.
I am just home from seeing my favorite rockabilly band, The Blasters, who formed in LA in 1979. That followed sitting in the back of a couple of Penn Station eateries to watch the Giants win their 10th game. In between, some guy on 42nd Street, half my age asked me if I wanted to go for coffee because it’s so cold out. I said that I was going to a show. I thought that was a clever line for this time of year.
I hope you had a good workout at the gym and are not too tired. Well, I must be up in three hours so I should started to get ready for bed. First I had to break up a cat fight.
