On location, Horniman Circle, Mumbai shooting for ‘Teen Patti’

Dark streets, wet roads, an isolated banyan tree, a 50’s Fiat and be-speckled me dropping off ransom money. Curious crowds even in this hour of the night and in SoBo ? Odd !! A music festival resonates the finer qualities of a ‘qawaali’ from a near by facility. Busy assistants try desperately to control traffic and humanity. Some obey, most do not. Its a semi action sequence and the production has hired a crew of stunt co ordinators from Germany. They are polite and precise and a little bewildered by the ambience, but satisfied with the working. They are not the only foreigners on site. A group of them, perhaps on their way out from the music festival, observe proceedings from behind a grilled fence. It is dark. I cannot see them. But after every shot pairs of hands appear from through the gaps in the fence in applause. Well applause, either to attract my attention or to draw attention to their presence.
A sequence has just completed. I am back in vanity, thankfully on the ground and within reach. I need to change my wig and hair and clothes for the next sequence. I will need some time. Excuse. Will be back with you now, when I shall get home and hit the bed. It will be late. But every effort shall be made to complete this post for today. More later….

Hope this finds you well. Your schedule seems to be back to its old self and all those commitments seem to be very demanding . Well glad that you are BACK to us. Was wondering if there could be an audio clip attached to the blog like a voice clip of you sharing some thoughts. Perhaps even reading the blog. It was just an idea I had. You read it to yourself prior to posting so well maybe we could hear you reading it aloud.
Saw Dostana and must say Abhishek and John have done a good job together and made the gay act look very comfortable . Also please change the blog picture every now and then . Its been a while since this one.

आज अपने कथनानुसार कुछ पंक्तिया अंधेरे का दीपक - डक्टर बच्चन के शताब्दी समारॊह के अवसर पर आप सब लोगों के लिये प्रस्तुत कर रहा हूं, आज शाम को जिस प्रकार के विचार मेरे मन में चल मचल रहे थे अक्स्मात ही ऎसी ही एक कविता हाथ लग गई - (साठ गीत रत्न - पुष्पा भारती), काफी समय लगा कम्प्यूटरीकरण करने में, आशा है आप सभी को मेरा यह प्रयास रस आयेगा-
अंधेरे का दीपक
है अंधेरी रात पर
दीवा जलाना कब मना है ?
(1)
कल्पना के हाथ से कम-
नीय जो मंदिर बना था,
भावना के हाथ ने जिसमें
बितानों का तना था,
स्वप्न ने अपने करों से
था जिसे रुचि से संवारा,
स्वर्ग के दुष्प्राप्य रंगों
से, रसों से जो सना था,
ढह गया वह तो जुटाकर
ईंट, पत्थर कंकडों को
एक अपनी शांति की
कुटिया बनाना कब मना है ?
है अंधेरी रात पर
दीवा जलाना कब मना है ?

बादलों के अश्रु से धोया
गया नभ-नील नीलम
का बनाया था गया मधु-
पात्र मनमोहक मनोरम,
प्रथम उषा की किरण की
लालिमा सी लाल मदिरा
थी उसी में चमचमाती
नव घनों में चंचला सम,
वह अगर टूटा मिलाकर
हाथ की दोनो हथेली,
एक निर्मल स्त्रोत से
तृष्णा बुझाना कब मना है ?
है अंधेरी रात पर
दीवा जलाना कब मना है ?

क्या घडी थी एक भी
चिंता नही जो पास आई,
कालिमा तो दूर, छाया
भी पलक पर थी ना छाई,
आंख से मस्ती झपकती,
बात से मस्ती टपकती,

बादलॊं ने शर्म खाई,
वह गई तो ले गई
उल्लास के आधार, माना,
पर अथिरता पर समय की
मुसकराना कब मना है ?

हाय, वे उन्माद के झोंके
कि जिनमें राग जागा,
वैभवों से फेर आंखें
गान का वरदान मांगा,
एक अंतर से ध्वनित हों

अंत उनका हो गया तो,
मन को बहलाने की खातिर,

वे गये तो सोचकर यह

शोर करना, गुल मचाना,
नाश की उन शक्तियों के

प्रतिनिधि, तुझे होगा बताना,
जो बसे हैं वे उजड़ते
हैं पृकति के जड़ नियम से
पर किसी उजड़े हुए को

Amit-jee, please dont do this to me. you shoot in So Bo, ten minutes away from where I live and announce it now. wish I could drop in and say a cheerrful Hi. But on second thoughts guess not. Dont want to add to the temperature. After all you are not the only one who is known to get temperatures up!! ha ha!
Lissen to dis Amit-Jee…… a few supporters Of Asif Bhamla who were protesting the Showing Of DOstana as anti Indian culture, when asked, after all what they found offensive about the movie….. take a guesss….. what they said? I mean ,come on ,their reply was…… they had not yet seen the movie…..”‘Ab tak dekhi nahi … dekhega to pata chalega”"” I found that hilarious, as did the correspondent of the channel NDTV INDIA… CINEMA INDIA.. tHIS was 10 minutes ago…….
