CORRECTIONS :
The year that i was travelling to Jaisalmer for Reshma Shera and the moon incident in DAY 205, was wrongly mentioned by me. It is indeed 1969. Thank you for correcting me. Joined movies in 1969 February 15th with Saat Hindustani and by the winter later was on my way to shoot for Dutt Saheb’s film.
And also to thank another for giving the technical details on Chadrayan. Yes it has not landed on Moon the MIP(moon investigative probe) has. And it has not landed, it has crash landed and yes there is no flag fying yet, but the probe had the tricolor on it. So all that I was saying was somewhat correct and some metaphorical. We are only the fourth nation in the world to have achieved this and within 2 years we are planning to put a module on the moon !!
So it is still -
GOD BLESS INDIA !!!

Dear Amitabh Uncle Ji,
It is a great achievement for India. I don’t think you’re the only one who thought the same thing. I was at the gurudawara earlier this evening and they had a copy of the Indian News paper there, which also said that Chadrayan has landed on the moon. It was actually the headline news on this newspaper. I hope you have a great day and fun at the shoot. Can’t to wait to read more from you. I’m glad it is the weekend, I get to relax at least a little bit.

It would be interesting to read if you write something about your each film a day ( in order of release right from ‘ Saat Hindustani ..- some pleasant memories / happenings / about your co-stars / director / shot takings - music etc somethngs you remember which has remained in your memory.
And yes…before you were hospitalised you had mentioned that your daughter Shweta will contribute her views of certain topics. Can we look forward to that ? I am sure it will be intersting.

No doubt Chandrayana is a success. But I still think we are lagging by a good half-a-century behind USA. USA had put a couple of people on moon four decades ago whereas what we have done today can be best described as “dropping a tin can” on the moon’s surface. Way to go and GOD BLESS INDIA in all her endeavors.

In year 1968 Americans orbited the Moon.
The Indian tricolor is on the Moon with the probe.

I have just returned from the Sons of the Desert meeting following a surprise last minute anti-fur protest outside of Bloomingdales.
We celebrated the 83rd birthday of Our Gang’s Jerry Tucker. He couldn’t be there but I have attended his excellent slide show in the past. The Our Gang short that was shown was Hi- Neighbor!
The Laurel & Hardy shorts were Oliver the Eighth, Them Thar Hills, Tit For Tat, and Going Bye Bye, which has that great memorable line ” Please excuse me- My ear is full of milk”
Not only did we put a man on the moon in 1969, but more miraculously, the New York Mets won the World Series!!!

Hi! It has been long that I replied to your blog . I read all your post but by the time, I think of replying I am in hundredths. So I feel it is not worth .
In your # 202 post, you mentioned culture, music, and politics but did not mention about Indian education .
Last week I had the opportunity to go to Palm Spring Math conference, where an American speaker who did research on Indian education spoke about how mathematics is a part of Hindu religion. He went ahead with teaching Vedic math, which has easy process of multiplying big numbers, calculus and a lot more. Collogues looked at me with amazement but I looked back at them blankly.( Confused Indian from late seventies who believed every thing in the west is great !) I felt like a fool. I knew vaguely about it from my parents but never indulged in it. Never the less I was very proud about the whole presentation in the conference!
As soon as I could get on to Google I searched for all the Vedic math books. In addition, he had shot documentaries on Indian schools and its education system! Yes, India is being noticed and endorsed. Hope and pray India remains the same with its old culture, education, wisdom, love and peace!
I remember your acting in “Reshma And Sehera”as a deaf and dumb brother. You had done a superb job. If I am not mistaken it was released some where in early seventies, not in nineteen -sixty-nine. (I remember our phone conversation about your acting ) Even though the role was a small one, you expressed every emotion through your eyes. You were and is still a great actor !
I just read the news on Dostana, happy to hear Abhishek acted well in a comedy role. Congratulate him from my side. I am planning to see it tomorrow.
Happy to know, that many conferences and film festivals invited you to preside over their functions.

Today I read one News item in The Telegraph news paper that one Mr Vijay K Taneja, who reportedtly arranged shows in USA which were attended by Bollywood “Bigwigs”, is facing 20 years in prison for fraud. The alleged fraud is to the tune of USD 33 million, in which American Banks, its National & some NRIs lost their fortune.
It is true that the so called “Bigwigs” are not in a position to verify the background of orgaisers of shows in which they are participating.
When some one splurging money like a water, the persons who get associated must exercise utmost caution. But who does this, most of them simply junp into the bandwagon and make merry & money.
The said newspaper also reported that Mr Taneja was produced one movie ” Aap Ka Surror “. He is supposed to have lot of business iterest in various bollywood matters.
Before he get caught, he was revered by many in USA. This amply prooves that if you get caught - you are CHOR if not you are otherwise.

Probably influenced by the illustrious Sri Harivansh Rai Bachchan. Your writings in the blog are an inspiration to Indians living in India and abroad. Is your brother also interested in culture, spirituality and Bharatiya sanskriti? Some time ago I read a news item in an Indian paper that your niece was translating your father’s book in English? Was that book published yet? For the last several months, I have been trying real hard to buy the English translation of Sri Harivansharai’s autobiography in US but in vain. Landing on the Moon
Better late than never! The first unmanned spacecraft was landed on the Moon by the Soviet Union in 1966. The United States of America landed Man on the Moon in 1969. The British made the first underground railways in 1860, we did it in 1984 in Kolkata (India’s first, Asia’s fifth and the world’s 85th underground railway) and in Delhi the Metro became operational in 2002.
Slowly but surely we are catching up with the rest of the world but we have a long way to go still.

Good to see u back at shoot, though I see missing u more on blog here. But I believe u will make up for it somehow
so, thts all happy.
I was gng thru filmfare online today, and noticed one of the headlines gng abhishek feels guilty of u falling sick, apparently he mentioned tht becos of drona duin bad at the box office, u took sick, according the media sources.
Of whatever little I have known of u thru this blog, I see u waaaay more matured than take over something like this, with so many films in ur career, and ups and downs being part and parcel of it. Keep wondering whr media gets all this to write from. JUST TO SELL??? WONDER !!
On the other hand, CONGRATS tht DOSTANA is such a hit !! Here in US the shows are full theatres on the opening weekend. I cudn’t get a tkt yet, hope to go over on sunday and try. But I have heard soooo much about Abhishek’s role in this movie. My admiration for him for actually accepting and balancing such a role, this well, at his level of career.

I was watching KWK - Date with “Dostana” very late last night or rather very early as it was already past midnight. Abhishek was hilarious!
I saw the promo trailer for Dostana so I understood what he was referring to otherwise I would have lost out on his wit and sense of humour. He was just too funny!
When Karan Johar made mention that there has been big releases last month and some big releases coming up and so “Dostana” was in a competitive zone, Abhishek’s reply on that was the funniest of all. He said, “I just want to say we are in no competition right here. I don’t want to be arrogant. You know of late , there is this huge uproar in the industry about I am the king and you are the king and I am the king….I just want to say one thing….I don’t care who the king….we are definitely the QUEEN of this industry!” WE ARE THE QUEEN BABY…BRING IT ON!!!”
Anyways, enjoy the shoot. Hope you rest in between scenes. I sincerely hope tiredness does not overcome you too much today.

Ganoderma can be used to treat lower back pains and pain of the hands, shoulders and knees. There is one case of varicose veins which improved a little.

I am a great fan of yours since childhood. I watch all your movies. What ever happened to Shantaram and Karagutu Kama? I do hope that Teen Patti is not ‘inspired’ by 21. I dont like seeing you in poorly made ‘inspired’ movies like God Tussi Great Ho,although Satte pa Satta was very good.And, whats the development about the French movie you mentioned in your blog sometime back? I would love to see you in some international movie directed by some good directors. Your talent is being wasted by some medicore directors who had directed you in the past.
Please be very choosy about the movies you do. You are not just anybody,your Amitabh.It is like Sachin getting out cheaply to a lousy bowler.Not acceptable…Same in your case.We love you and expect the best from you.Not just good acting but a good movie.Like Sachin, you are on the last leg of your career.Plz give us your best.

They might tell you that you aren’t really that kind of person that could this thing that you’re attempting. Or if you make some headway in the direction you want to go you may start to sabotage for yourself. To keep yourself in a place that is familiar for you. So you need to give yourself approval and allow yourself to be who you want to be. Not look for the approval from others.
