OOOKKKKKKKAAAAAYYY !!
There are serious problems ! Not with the world. Not with society. Not with the blog - well just a little maybe. Not with the Industry. Certainly not with journalists and media. But…
With my eye !!!!
Woke up this morning with just one eye. Yup ! One eye ! The other did not open. Walked across to the mirror in the wash room and almost fell into the ‘watchamacallit’ with fright !!
Eye has ballooned into err.. well a balloon !!
So cold compression, and eye drops and all sorts of home remedies later a call to my doc in Mumbai. Would have taken me a lifetime to get an appointment with an eye specialist here in London. And on a week end ? Forget it !
He had packed for me a medical kit for the tour and thankfully the eye medication too. So there is relief. both in temperament and the eye.
But a warning ! NO ! Not about the trumpet sillies ! Its about the time spend in front of 17″ Macbook Pro !
Just have to get off it, guys..else…
WILL NEVER GET TO SEE THE CHELSEA GAME TOMORROW !!!!!
Sorry, sorry, sorry… being really cheesy eh ! Apologies.. Its the sugar over dinner !!
Ok.. serious now.
If I need to repair, I need to get to bed and need to shut eyes off the blog, so I can with added strength be back with you in the ‘morrow !!

Seriously funny!

Dear Mr Bachchan,
It would be best to see an opthalmologist for the eye as it could be anything from being just a strain/fatigue to muscular dystrophy or something more concerning like a fluctuation in BP/blood glucose levels.
Your prior posts have made it extremely clear that your faith in Indian Doctors is tremendous and I am 100% with you on that but it would be beneficial to have someone take a look locally where you are.
Also intraocular pressure will fluctuate with changes in atmospheric pressure so a flight may worsen things . May be a great idea to not look at a computer screen for a while much to the disappointment of the regular followers.
Wish you a speedy eye opening.

Anyways, While I was reading this entry the song Ishq Bina (from Taal) came on the radio and I couldn’t help but say that I truely love Aishwarya! The first time I saw her movie was Aa Ab Laut Chale, one of my favorite movies, and I instantly feel in love with her.
Then, I happened to be in India when the blockbusters Hum Dil De Chuke Sanaam and Taal came out. Boy oh boy was Aishwarya amazing. She truely made a place in everyone’s heart.
I remember seeing her live the first time at the Zee Gold Bollywood Awards in 2000, where she danced to a song from Taal and HDDCS. It was like a dream come true seeing her live back then. That time I was about 10, and we were sitting so far that I had binoculars. But, the experience of seeing her live was truly phenominal.
After 8 years, and so many blockbuster movies (Devdas=being my absolute favorite), Aishwarya is irrefutably the greatest actress in Indian Cinema.
And, I sincerely cannot tell you how astonishing it was to see her perform at the Atlantic City-Unforgettable Show. This time I was really close so no need for binoculars. HaHA.
I just wanted to wish Aishwarya years and years and years of joy and happiness. May she go even further in life. Today she is not only an Indian superstar, but an International superstar. God Bless her.
You would make my day, week, even month, if somehow you were able to show this message to her; and get maybe a hi? haha.

Sorry to hear about your eye. However, it does not take life to get an appointment with an eye specialist. If it is so bad, you can always go to an emergency hospital and they will look into. PLEASE DO NOT degrade.
I believe in India if you have the money you get to see a specialist immediately, but what of the ones who do not have the money.
I was hopping you would mention someting in your blog about the monsoon in India (Bihar) and hundreds of people strandard.
God has given some people in this world talent, so why there is war amongst all the stars.

I was going over the comments and your responses. Based upon your responses, I don’t think that you’d like what I am going to say. I really don’t know why I am saying it. But, I do know that somewhere in the corner of this gigantic name and fame, there does sit the young kid Amitabh, who used to walk the streets holding the hand of his legendary father.
A father who had the power, to make us cry with anguish and roar with resolve at the same time. A father who was also the father to my dreams. I can never forget the immortal lines : “Hai Andheri raat mein diva jalaana kab manaa hai?”
You brought inspiration to a totally new level. I don’t know but I am very sure that there must have been moments when your father must have come to you and said, ” I am proud of you!!! Son”.
In my humble opinion, in this life, we all have roles to play. You gave yourself to your role and the world responded with the greatest love towards you.
In this world, the only control that we have is on our actions. We can not control others - what they say or do. If we let others anger or frustration to strip our happiness, we are not being fair to ourselves or our loved ones. Our job is to just do our work with the most sincerity accept whatever comes good or bad with equal amount of gratitude to the Big Boss above.
Is it not true that the very things that provide us the most happiness can also provide the most sadness.Name, Fame, Money, Health, Love, Affection, Relationships - All of this is transitory. You have it one day and you don’t have it the next day. You are the same in the middle of the noise of public adulation, media injustice or in the silent chambers of your own heart.
Is it not true that you have all of it, but you get pained when someone criticizes you or when your eyes are swollen - just like anyone else who doesn’t have all that you have. Hence, from one perspective, we are all the same. As Shelley once said, “We always pine for what we don’t have!!”.
What is the point of all this talk? It is simple, Sir. In my truly humble opinion Sir, when you pray please thank God for the following:
1. He made you the greatest Filmstar India ever produced.
2. He gave you biggest gift of life as the great Harivansh Rai ji and Teji ji.
3.He gave you the most wonderful son and daughter. I can just imagine the warmth and love you when Abhishek and Shweta hug you.
4.You have the talent to write and act in a way that can change people’s lives.
5. You have the love and affection of zillions of people, who adore you.
6. He gave you the biggest lesson of acceptance from people like Mayawati or the journalist who is not fair to you. It is a lesson that Even King Lear could not control!!
7. He gave you a wife who stood by you, in your highs and lows. She is an icon in her own right.
Sir, next time when you get angry at someone who is writing about your love at age 63 for your wife, please kindly consider that writing about your name is what brings food to her dining table. Everyone knows you and nobody knows her. Her only claim to fame is to use your name.
In my truly humble opinion, if someone tells me that age 63, I am loving my wife, I’d be proud of it.
Life is too short Sir. Whether we are kings or paupers, we have to leave everything here.
My only request for you Sir if you can kindly do it for me is to tell Jayaji, how much her support means for you!!! I am thanking God that he gave your entire family to this world!!! Your family has given hope to this world!!!

In India, it’s so much easier to access the best medical care 24X7, but sadly that is not the case everywhere. Your best bet is to take some rest and wait for it to get better.
Some say if you tie a thread or rubberband around your toe, swollen eye becomes better - maybe an accupressure point. I tried to research it but did not find any points in the foot. Not sure, could be hearsay.
I hope your medication works or someone who knows really well is around to help. Take care of your eye.

Your son Abhishek could improve exponentially if he pays heed to these constructive and good faith criticisms.
- Bollywood is there for his taking, but he is unable to make any impact. With the exception of Hrithik, this industry is infested with immature, childish and if not, vagabond actors. It’s an embarrassment on Indians all over the world.
With the proper regimen Abhishek might be able to live up to what was long expected from the son of Amitabh Bachchan.
1) He should devotedly practice yoga to get his body supple, nimble and poised. This together with the proper weight training and cardio will bring his body in line.
His physique is too slack, sluggish and somewhat awkward. He needs to walk upright with his head held high like a modern and sophisticated man.
2) Please get him to shave: its awful looking at times. He should look like a youthful romantic, likable and pan-universal sexy actor and young stud.
3) He should work on his facial expressions - need to be more animated in his films and emote with strong indulgent feelings and charisma.
4) Smile bravely: get rid of the impish and sheepish smile in your acting Abhishek. Do not hang your head and smile sheepishly. KEEP YOUR HEAD HIGH AND FIRM. Be a man. Show strength and firmness in the softest scenes through your facial expressions and emotions.
5) Stop being a mama’s boy. Show maturity and personality on and off screen.
6) Take personal interest in your films. Be the second director- throw in
suggestions.
7) Be glamorous, cool, sophisticated. Speak well. All of this you already are, but work on it.
8)Work hard on your dialogue delivery in your films. Improve your lip movements and expressions.
9) Please cut the crap of rap/hip-hop from your life: This is American trash that civilized and sensible people look down on. A few songs in films and on album are ok, but don’t make it a personality thing. Leave that for the uneducated black folks.
10) Please read extensively to widen your mental capacity and horizons. It will strengthen your charisma and personality.
11) Your body language needs to be improved. Again, this will come with the proper exercise. Do the right yoga to enable you to walk upright and brisk with a smooth flow. I recommend the book- 28 DAYS EXCERSIZE PLAN, by Richard Hittleman.
12) Always be the lead actor in films. If you are in multi starrer, ensure to grab the audience attention with your own nuances or gimmicks if necessary. In KANK, I felt you were too weak. You shouldn’t have been referred to as Rishi Kappoor in that scene. I think it’s a weak and bad scene for you. It’s probably a ploy by sharak khan and karan johar to show you as weak and timid against sharak.
It’s in your personal interest to appear strong and manly in the face of competition. Do not give it away. In KANK, you had an opportunity to steal the show. But you didn’t. You tower above the lead actor but you did not bring out and utilize your personal attributes to your advantage. It’s the directors film, however your personal interests comes first. Be smart. An award is just a token.
13) Never act in a film that copies a Hollywood film frame to frame. That’s cheap and laughable. You will be disrespected and look down upon by the audience.
14) Very important: when other actors acting with you wears high heel shoes to gain height on you, you should also wear a pair of shoes with equal or higher heels so you do not loose that advantage.
15) Do not cry like a lady in films. If the scene requires it do it with machismo.
16) Always do films with beautiful and well shot songs. They pull crowd and put you in the audience memory for a long time. Not the singers.
I only hope these few well intentioned comments or criticism get to your attention. And, I hope there is some who is smart and intelligent enough to convey theses to you.

Respected sir,
Why do you strain so much that you have to wake up with one eye. Do take some rest and let the eyes be ok. Once they are fine you can get on with the usual stuff.. but right now u do need to take care of your eyes. In your movie, a lady says that you have a very impressive voice, perhaps she didnt look much into your eyes …. MASHA ALLAH, you have one of the most impressive and expressive eyes. And if people have noticed, in the last few films of yours especialy, Black, Sarkar and Sarkar Raj, they do most of the talking. Hence, my dear sir, do take care of them.

It goes beyond comprehension, how can a human be so adept at multiskills of being an artist, a writer (your blog is nothing short of contemprary writing excellenece), a public figure and a dignified man..the last one would perhaps be a tough one to be in the times of today. A hundred salaams to you Sir.
Btw, am the same age as Abhishek so perhaps you can relate to this. Even since I got to know the animal called TV/ movies, I have wanted to see the magic man himself… have been going to Mumbai since I was 10 and have religiously ‘visited’ your residence (of course, standing outside the gate and pleading with ‘uncles’ - since I was 9 !!) to faciliate a glimpse. Not to forget, have done the same feat at Sopan too ! Still no luck :-))

On the first day of my daughters birth she was detected with a serious heart problem. As it was a caessrean before I could see her properly SHE was to taken to Escorts for the surgery.(No I am not going to narrate the long sad story of her operation and recovery and another operation and recorvery and……) What happened actually on a speacial request I was taken straight from my observation room to the Escorts ICU. With watery eyes I looked her and wondered whether she would survive or not!!!! I noticed something… both her eys looked diff in appearance. When I came down and looked at his father he looked so grief struck that I couldnt utter a word about our daughter. Suddenly I remembered my observation and said if she survives this surgery, I think we have to go for another one. He asked why??? I said, “her eyes also look defective from distance. Maybe we should hire a panel of surgery experts.” All of our family members along with him burst out in laugh…Fortunately she survived the two oeprations and has two perfect eyes now…

It’s not hard to find a doctor in London over the weekend there are emergengy rooms we take our babies to.
Don’t come so hard on yourself. Its not good. SELFWORTH you have to practice!
Blogging is not everything in the world. An hour or two is enough. I was working on sending you some links on good formats of writting but I am holding on to it too. I know you will obsess over it which I won’t let you do. You are precious my love and we Love you. Rest and please apply some Ice Packs to those lovely two’s.

Sir, I tell you what to do for eyes, Please don’t use any eye drops at all - Just wash your eyes 2-3 times for 2-3 mins each time with clean normal water and see the eye problem will DISAPPEAR!
Else, the eye drops will hurt and leave you with burning sensation and takes times to heal.

i am of your age this thing happening to the eye is quite common amongst us.I have also gone through serious platelets problem, a heart attack and last but not least a by-pass too.With immunity reducing the first that happens is that the skin around the eye becomes sagging and if in sleep, by mistake we sleep on to one side hard pressed, the eye on that side gets swollen.Nothing to worry about.Give cold water compress and wash the eyes in clean cold water as many timmes possible. You must be aware of these, but as you are in uk, i felt like carrying coal to New Castle., wishing your family well and your detractors no luck,

Bye for now.. And in case you are wondering, Wales was indeed beautiful and the caravan was plush and posh. Porthmadog , near Port Meirion is picturesque. I did invite you, AB and family but you might not have seen the invitation which would have fallen through the net into the Black Hole of (Kolk)Adda. We had Indian as Stan could just ‘murder an Indian’ at every opportunity. There is ‘this nice Indian here’ he said and we said, ‘thank you, Stan!’. We added the takeaway to our own homecooked tiger prawns, samosas, poppadums etc.
And Indie just loved the beach of the Cardigan Bay off the Irish Sea. You should come with us next time and enjoy the fresh sea air and the soft white sands. The simplest sweetest things in life are free….but you do not need me to tell you that!

1st of all, hope your eye is feeling better. It’s just a very uncomfortable thing and sometimes it looks a lot worse then it actually is. I am telling you its from all those handshakes
Maybe antibacterial wipes in the pocket might help.
