My apologies to all ! I am late and there is really no excuse for that, but I am putting in something for yesterday even though I am in tomorrow. For tomorrow there will be a separate issue. I hope. Hate promising and then not keeping up to it.
Phenomenal !! Just that one word to describe the London Concert. The venue, the audience and fans and well wishers, the performances by all. Just on a different high. And the quality of the production was unbelievable. I cannot even begin to describe to you the atmosphere back stage. The performers, the dancers, the crew, the production, the security, the helpers everyone bursting with enthusiasm. Screaming encouragement to each other at every entry and exit. We almost out- voiced the sold out 20,000 venue.
The customary prayer meet just before we all go on stage was different yesterday. We all hold hands, everyone of us performing and not performing. Viraf of Wizcraft and the one that controls and runs the show technically, then leads us into it. There is a moment of personal silence as we all bend our heads and remember divinity. That over, Abhishek asks everyone to put our palms together one over the other and screams -
“What time is it ?”
And all of us scream back, pulling our palms in the air - “SHOWTIME !”
Yesterday we did it three times instead of the one. I think that did it.
I will consider it an attempt at blowing my own rather rusty trumpet, if I were to describe the show as has been asked by many, so I shall refrain. But what I shall do is put in a few of the sms’s received on the concert. They would be self explanatory.
Everything worked to clockwork efficiency, right from the timing of the start ( it had to, we were in Great Britain on British ground ) to the ending before the curfew started. Yes, we had a designated time format dictated to us. 10:45 pm ! Show must end, else the power plug would be pulled out. The law states that 50 mins of exit time has to be given to the audience to clear the stadium to enable them to catch the last tube train at 11:50 pm. The venue being a bit remote in its positioning creates huge problems for commuters, if they miss the tube, because there is no other public transport facility till the next morning. Spending the entire night on the street was not a recommended option. An option I must admit, we almost had to take, as we sat in the car outside the O2 Arena for almost two hours because of the traffic after the show got over !! Actually it was quite enjoyable. Everyone had their windows down and their respective music systems, playing hit Hindi film songs at maximum volume. Quite a sight and so endearingly entertaining ! Unforgettable Concert Part 2, being enacted. And free !!
There was a wrap party at the Hotel for all after we got in eventually. Just free informal bonding and an occasion of gratitude to all. It is the last show I am afraid for this leg. Amsterdam and Germany have been cancelled. Regretfully this is true. There have been contractual defaults by the promoters and the managers Wizcraft, had no other option. The disappointment for the fans is understandable and hopefully we shall have another opportunity to make amends. But we can profess to either run a truly professional unit or be consumed by non performing partners, being disloyal to the written and signed word.
So this morning was lazy. Abhishek left early morning for Mumbai, to do some promotional activity for his coming film ‘DRONA’. He shall be back tomorrow, to spend a little relaxed time with family and I was just impossible to be pulled out of bed till very late in the evening. Barry Marshall the gem of a man, who had produced ‘JUMMA CHUMMA in LONDON’, called after ages to invite me to George Michael’s last Concert, which he was producing and I just could not refuse.
So we all ganged up and went over to Earl’s Court and have just come back after experiencing what it is like to be on the other end of the line ! Last night the performer. Tonight the audience ! Good show. But I tell you something - OURS WAS BETTER !! Ha..Ha.. Rusty trumpet not doing badly at all !!
The errors and difficulties that were being experienced on the comments have been identified and work is in progress. So the server tells me. Hope some of you have seen the improvement.
Some readers mention my delay on the post and wondered why I could not MoBlog. Especially Rochelle ! But something strange happened at the concert. The signal to the mobile disappeared and has only just returned. Would George have some thing to do with this ?
To the people of London ! You were simply amazing. Thank you for all the standing ovations and for remaining with us through out. And thank you for encouraging us in the end as the final curtain call was over and the entire 150 of us cast and crew, rejoiced and danced on stage to the new track I had recorded in New York. What a dramatic moment that was. Historic !!
To bed, to bed now - and to leave you with some of the adulation that came our way in the most beautiful typed presentations, that appear almost magically, on little screens held in our hands !!
Dear Sandy plse could u forward this message for me 2 Mr B - A big congratulations on your successful show. U were just superb and had us all rocking. Thank you so much for the exceptional seats. The Unforgett Tour was a true Unforgettable Evening. I loved every minute of it and danced the night away.
The show was absolutely fabulous ! Mister B was the show stopper, loved him !! Couldn’t have had a better time..
What a fantastic concert the B’s were fantastic individually and as a family. Mr B managed to bring tears to everyone’s eyes with his dialogues. In all great night out.
Dear brother CJ. Than a lot 4 all this u done 4 me. it will b an unforgettable day in my whole life and their is no one like Amitab in the world and there will never be one. He is the only one. Best
CJ I am the only black man who was there, let me tell u mate that my fame for Big B and his family was more than the whole crowded in O2. I whatever I have is always there for Big & family. Thank u my dear brother u made my weekend thank you you please give my regards to MR Bachchan & family.
CJ i have all the money in the world seen the world but today thank you for something money could never do. Watching mr b today the final bits will live with me till i die. What a great man. Put him on the flag of india thanks mate.
I retire. I have many more. But it would be difficult for me to put everything.
I notice some readers showing anger and anguish at some of the negative media reports in buzz.18 and cnn ibn. Well what can I say. Even before the shows started I had made you aware of this and warned you. So they live up to my predictions. This is a glorious moment for me. I dictate, they emulate !
It is a desperate and futile attempt at defaming, destroying and belittling a well accomplished achievement. One that is done and over with to amazing result. One, sadly, they will never be a part of and one they shall never be able to recreate. They find themselves on crutches. A most despicable condition they brilliantly managed, by, and this is both laughable and ironical, axing their own feet !!
Entertainment, the euphemism for news channels and internet.coms, compels them to manufacture their own jokes just so they could have a hearty laugh !!
I am ‘rolling on the floor mock laughing at their disgusting sense of humor !!’
I really must to bed -
With love..( ha.. ha.. ha .. ha.. still in mock mirth ! )
Amitabh Bachchan

I am so looking forward to you in The Last Lear. From the promos it looks like a performance superior to Black (ya ya I know, it’s not fair to compare the two). When it comes closer to the release date, please please please share your experiences playing this role because the promos it looks like you’re career’s best work and that is saying a lot because you have innumerable brilliant performances till date. Dearest Amitji,
I am envious, jealous– just plain green with envy. I spent 6 months on a scholarship in London just praying I bump into you. I stayed just 5 minutes from Waterloo station and you left before I arrived in London. 6 months- no show from you. I return to India and you reach London! AAAAAAAAAAAARGHHH! Depressed!
Can’t say how many restaurants of London I peeped hoping to borrow an umbrella from my special Ghaas Phoos!
BTW read my description of Shilpa Shetty’s show at http://www.dranshu.com/2007/12/13/miss-bollywood-shilpa-shetty-captures-the-hearts-of-british-asians/
I felt exactly like you did after the show.
Love you

Oh Bachchan Sir,
Your last paragraphs gave me laugh like anything. Yeah I was one of the bloggers who wrote about Buzz18 article……My all anger washed away with your great sense of writing and that gave me enough reason to laugh on those jokers of media, not to get angry on them…
Our heartiest congratulations on London tour’s success…I knew it…USA was the place where the euphoria was created and that was nowhere going to stop…You rule and you rock…
The way Abhishek warmed up the team, that was incredible…Three cheers to AB Jr. …Looking forward to see him in DRONA…
You take some good rest and thank you, thank you, thank you so much for writing back…I hit the Bigadda server at least a hundred time to see your new blog…

Dear Amitiji,
You have proved time & again that there can be only one Shaenshah & that is you. Many people may come & go , but there will be no Amitabh again. One must appreciate your creativity, adaptability . You can dance like a teenager & as well be a adorable father/grandpa at the same time. Let me put it staight that media cannot survive without writing about you. Ignore them. These days it looks they make & break films, rather than the audience. Amitji you will be surprised to note that my father, late mother , my wife & my two daughters ( 11 & 7 years old) are all most enduring fans of you. Ofcourse my wife & kids have some more special soft corner for Abhishek. My mother was a great admirer of Hindi literarure & adored your father & liked you as his son. She used to say that look the genes are in Amitabs blood. The command over languauge she told that you have is your father’s gift. The full family really wept with you seing Bagbhan. All rate that as a very endearing performance ,a totally different Amitab from the angry young man. We all wish you 100 years of good health , achievements & laurels. Amitji rishte mein to aap sabka baap hai , Hindi filmdom ka Shahenshah. God bless you , Jayaji (the adorable guddi & mili), Abishek & aishwarya with lots of joy, prospertity & laurels. May you entertain us for many more decades to come.

Hi Amit Uncle,
Isn’t it funny how we all start think something is not right when we don’t hear from you for one day or you’re late in your posting?? I guess that goes to show that we feel that you are family. At least, I do. A newly found relative that I’m trying to get to know. I submitted a post earlier today under day 124 (# 537). I do hope that you get some time to read it. Just as you can share your life (within parameters) I feel that I should share with you too. Give you an inside look into the life of a fan…not about how I’m a “die-hard” fan of your work, but just a little info about me. I don’t really have any comments to make regarding your post today. I’m very happy that your show went very well. It’s funny that you mention the second concert which was free…When we leave the concert venue, I do the same thing….plug in my Ipod into the car stereo and whip up the volume. It’s fun to watch people’s reaction.
Have a great night Uncle and get all the rest you need.
Much Love,
PB

it does not matter if it is a bit rusty.

Sir,
CONGRATS on the Unfortgettables tour and the successful completion of the same. It is great to know that every location only went up better than the last one and the ending was on a high note. I hope thats someday we in India too will get to experience the same.
I was very intrigued by the ‘Meet-n-Greet’ concept of the tour and got thinking as to how we could get to meet you. May I suggest an option for India? You could have a similar concept in India where maybe once a month you could ‘Meet-n-Greet’ with your fans. The ‘tickets’ of the same could be auctioned or sold online and the collections from that donated t charity of your choice. That way we would get to spend some time with you and at the same time a charity would benefit tremendously from it. Just a thought. A fan always thinks of ways and means to meet you. Someday! Someday!
The pomos of Drona are looking great and I hope the film works wonders. Am eagerly looking forward to ‘Aladin’ later in the year given the fact that you shared the in-production photos with us and the interesting storyline. Also hope that you will share with us the final title of ‘Shoebite’ once it gets out of the controversy.
With respect,
Kaushal V

Dear AB,
I think the Unforgettable Tour has such great potential. It would be such a shame if the London tour were to be the last. Your fan following is spread over the world. South East Asia, Australia, Middle East, Europe…..and last but not the least…our own India !!!!
Please Please plan to do the show at these places….and let the people who love you so dearly…get a chance of a lifetime to see you perform !!! I have ticked one prominent thing in my “BUCKET LIST” ( Though I am only in my thirties :P) and I am sure millions would consider having achieved something very important in their lives if they could see you make that grand entry on stage !!!
God Bless and Spread the JOY AB !!!!

Mr. Bachchan,
You don’t need to apologize for being late or for any issues with the site. The fact that you take so much time out of your life to talk to all of us and fill us in on your life means a lot to us fans.
I am glad to hear that your London show was extremely successful. I was at the Atlantic City & Long Island shows and I can only imagine how crazy the audience in London got after each performance. I happened to be part of that group in Atlantic City who got a glimpse of action backstage. There was an article about us in one of the Unforgettable tour features on Indiafm.com. I saw the team join hands and shout something but being 2 levels up, I obviously couldn’t hear what was shouted out. Thank you for mentioning that in your post because it was something I wanted to know. I am sorry to hear about the shows in Germany that were canceled. It is really unfortunate for all those fans looking forward to attending the shows. It is also unfortunate for you and the entire crew because I know how much time and effort all of you put forth for each show in this tour and that everyone must’ve really been looking forward to it. However, some things are not controllable and I guess it wasn’t meant to be.
Do wish Abhishek the best for Drona when he gets back. I have been looking forward to Drona, ever since I first found out about it. Also, as I had mentioned on my post on day 121, which you may or may not have gotten to… I was hanging out with some of the Wizcraft guys before they left for London and I gave one of Abhishek’s assistants (perhaps hair or makeup guy) an audio cd of some remixes my friends and I made. I know how much Abhishek loves music and I figured he’d enjoy it. Check with Abhishek to see if he got it and do listen to it when you get a chance and let me know what you think. Thanks.
Lastly, before I go, I request you as ambassador of IIFA, to do everything in your power to bring next year’s IIFA Awards to the US (NY/NJ if possible). In my 27 years, I have been to many award functions, concerts and other shows and I have never been to such a well organized event as the unforgettable tour. Wizcraft really put together an amazing event.
Enjoy the rest of your family vacationing time in Europe and hope you’ll be back in the US real soon. All the best to you, Abhishek, Aishwarya & Jaya ji.
With utmost respect,
Darshan Kapadia

Congratulations for the The Unforgettables Tour, dear Amitji. I have heard immediately after the show ended that it was phenomenal. Got message from my friends in UK. They told me the same sentence that I told them after watching your show in Chicago that “This evening was the most memorable evening of my life and this show was the best show I have watched in my entire life.” Venues changed, words did not. Same response I got from Houston, New York, San Francisco and London. Sad to hear that Germany and Amsterdam got cancelled. But anyways, now you have some chance to take rest. I wrote something about the Diabetes and your blood test on Day 124. If you get some time, please check that out. Till than, please do take good care of your self. Take care.

Finally …. after 1000 refreshes … sigh … post # “125″ … yippee …
First of all congrats one more time … the “not so rusty” trumpet is in great shape
… firing on all cylinders …
BTW, nicely said- “This is a glorious moment for me. I dictate, they emulate !” — bang on!! … let the show telecast in its entirety on tv in India … they will eat their words … no need to reply back to these gulls… true to their name … just buzz, no material
I do feel sorry for the Bachchan fans in Holland and Germany though … I attended the LA show and I know (as many others in this forum) as to what they are going to miss … truely sorry … hopefully the B-family will be back someday soon for them (I am sure that the media will twist this cancellation issue also and blame it on Mr. B)
But hey, on the positive side the Unforgettable team will get some breathing space and the deserved rest …
Keep rocking as always … Take care … Chao

Last sunday we had an article in the local newspaper about your interaction with Mr Mrinal Sen, during shooting of film BHUBAN SHOME. The article was interesting yet non-elaborative.
Can you, someday, please write about your first performance in film, about your first day on floor, about your first ever income from films and above all, about your experience of interaction with Mr Mrinal Sen.
Will look forward for your reply and a briefing on this.

Sarkar,
a poem from my book that i am attempting, hope it helps you de-stress after the hectic singing and dancing and everyday writing……
The girl from Bogota.
The heat, the parched dry earth, the melting road,
hissing, under the tyres of the speeding crowded bus,
opal eyes, aqualine nose, head covered, in silent mode,
more Indian than the Indians, she sat alone,in all the fuss,
Looking out from the window, at the distant hills, clouds,
she thinks of home, sound of thunder, whiff of rain,
holidays in Santa Marta, driving from Cali, Bogota crowds,
smell of her father, antics of brother, mothers pain.
Dressed in white, her auburn hair, now wind swept,
she gets up, as the bus stops, simple, quite, pride,
crush of bodies makes way,in the comotion a child slept,
dust rises, as the sky turns to a grey, black outside.
Her quest for knowledge, of mind, body, and soul.
her meditations on self, on perfection, becoming one,
with nature, like a child running after fire flys, her goal,
was the reason, she was in the land of the sweltring sun.
Happy go cloumbian lucky, but on rainy days a little sad,
longing for coffee, compadre, the colors of the hacienda,
her resolve on her beautifull face, was the choice she had,
she walks on, to the teacher, to the rain, the girl from Santa Fe de Bogota………….

Hey there! (Since you haven’t actually permitted me to call ya ‘Best Friend’- i’m hijacking your own greeting

WHO says your trumpet is rusty?? It’s doing a fine job and actually I don’t think it is blowing your trumpet- you did a great job so it’s perfectly justified to be proud of it and let us share your joy and pride ‘Ours was better’ (TFIC- tongue firmly in cheek
As far as blowing ones trumpet goes- I’ve been doing a better job- telling anyone who’s listening that THE BIg B wrote to me, lil ol ME! Hubby is thrilled for me and kept enquiring whether I didn’t faint after reading your personal reply
And when you’re back , take your time, get your body-clock re-aligned to IST, and when finally you’re well rested, fed and watered —-do please say yes to that interview!Even if i faint on hearing from you, I’ll do a worthy job of it

George Michael is a great artiste - good you went to his concert.
Did you enjoy watching him perform?
British skill at ‘bandobast’ in general is pretty strong and their sense of punctuality is well known.

DEAREST MR. BACHCHAN,
FINALLY I CAN STOP NUMBERING MY COMMENTS. YOU HAVE NO IDEA THE JOY THAT I FELT AND STILL AM FEELING FROM YOUR SINGLE NOTE ADDRESSED TO ME. ONE REGRET THOUGH, I MISSED YOUR PREVIOUS MOBLOG WHICH I HAD NO IDEA OF. BASICALLY, FORWARDED YOUR BLOG TO ALL FRIENDS AND FAMILY MEMEMBERS TO SHOW THEM THAT MR. BACHCHAN HAS ENOUGH TIME TO REALLY CARE FOR HIS ADMIRERS NO MATTER HOW BUSY HE REALLY IS. I WISH ALL YOUR DIE HARD FANS AND WELL-WISHERS HAVE THE CHANCE TO GET NOTICED BY YOU AND SHARE THE JOY THAT I FEEL. CONGRATS ON THE SUCCESS OF YOUR RECENT SHOW IN LONDON AS THROUGH OUT THE USA. I ALSO COMMENTED ON BUZZ 18 REGARDING THEIR REPORT, IT REALLY GOT MY BLOOD BOILING AND I KNOW WE ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO PAY ATTENTION TO THESE TYPE OF THINGS BUT HOW DO YOU MANAGE TO GO THROUGH THESE TYPES OF FALSE REPORT DAY IN AND DAY OUT??? YOU TRULY ARE A “WARRIOR!” DID HAVE THE PLEASURE OF MEETING YOU WHILE YOU’RE SHOOT IN THE STREETS OF SANTA MONICA FOR “KAANTE.†YOU TRULY OOZE OUT MACHISMO!!! HEHEHEHEHEEHE.
ALWAYS LOVE AND PRAYS,
OBBY C.

Dear Amitabh ji ,
We have to… right? On a more serious note I really don’t get the Media addiction for de-faming your tour When it is already a declared Hit ! ask those millions of people who attended the show and I was one of them,, To hell with this Media , Who CARES , WE LOVE YOU and now we have this blog to show you that we do !!!!
Thanks for the wonderful post! All of us blow our rusty trumpets sometime in life , Don’t we

I just love your strength on the media…

Writing this for the 4th time….
Amitabhji, why do u do shows only in big countries…like USA, LONDON, AUSTRALIA? (Don’t say that it depends on the promoters).
Does money mean so much to u?(sorry if i sound rude).
I live in Fiji Islands. Its a small country with a population of about 800,000, of which around 400,000 are of Indian origin. We all love u and are your die-hard fans but have never seen u in person. We may never get to see u because u only go to big countries.
Pleeeeeeeeeease ek baar Fiji aiye. Humse bhi pyar paaiye…hume bhi apna pyaar dijiye.
I don’t know whether you will even get to read this or not but if u do, then please… do come to Fiji. It may not necessarily be that u come and do shows here. Aap sirf humse milne bhi to aa sakte hain?…ya nahi?
Practically sochiye–400,000 people from Fiji can’t come over to meet you…but you can come over and meet all of us…can’t you?
Please come to Fiji once…and come soon…kya pata–kal hum rahein ya na rahein..

Dear Sir,
Nice to know about your phenomenal success in world tour.
We do get worried when we read bad things written in the media like In the column ‘Under Honey’s Hat’ in Hindustan times Cafe.
Thanks to your postings on the blog our apprehensions are cleared

Dear sir ,
congratulations on completing a magnanimous event , a successful grand tour. Sadly i flew down to mumbai from canada on 6th july to be with my family after 5 long years. Missed your Toronto show but i hope i would get another chance soon. Btw saying sadly , i meant it was an event i would have never missed but had a good month long precious time with family. So please please please do keep in mind that you got to do another tour in coming years for the people who have always loved you. You have been , you are and always will be the LEGEND for all of us for eternity.
Best wishes and regards

Hey! Can I help it if I noticed the lack of a “Thank you, London”? That’s the first thing I looked for. I think every time I got back from each of the five shows I had the pleasure to see, you had beaten me to it no matter how quickly I returned. But notice that my top theory was correct when I hypothesized technical problems.
I knew the London show would be great. So many Hindi films are made there and it’s practically your second home. About the mass transportation issue, we were glad that my future brother-in-law decided to drive to the Oakland show instead of taking BART because the show ended so late that BART had stopped running! When can we hear the new track that you recorded in New York?
Yesterday I had an English -themed day also. At work I got to run the film Hard Day’s Night on IFC. Then I went with my brother to see the English band Squeeze, which included video footage of England behind them. It was a fantastic show, bringing me back 30 years to my beginning involvement in the punk/new wave/alternative movement. Sorry but I think you would have to pay me to see George Michael. Not my cup of tea!
I just returned now from the Richard Widmark tribute and the film Hell and High Water. There were more than a few laughs at the dated sexist dialogue but an enjoyable film for this Richard Widmark fan.
I don’t know the negative remarks by the media you mention. But it seems to me that as Ringo said in Hard Day’s Night, you’re a mocker.
Goodnight. I have to get up in 3 hours. Can’t stay in bed ’til evening.
Love,
Rochelle

Hello Amitji,
Congratulations for a succeessfull tour. At the 60+ age you are still going strong to dance & move on stage. Live performance is not a joke. So hat off to you!
I have one question, you may call it concern or query or doubt or irritation. Do you know, Your freind AS has done 8th wonder in India when you were away. I respect your freindship with AS. I also know & understand that being big celebrity you have to meet, say hello to everyone, especially our politicians. But Your freindship with AS is beyond meeting & saying heloo. He is like your shadow at every social circuit. Now any tom dick & harry will not entertain a person of AS caliber in their varandah but contrary to that AS is right inside your family. As i said, i respect your freindship but AS is beyond a freind & freindship.
Sorry if i dishearted you.
regards,
sandeep

I do not know whether you are praising me for my friendship with AS or deriding it.. many such comments without knowing facts or jumping to hasty conclusions, because of the media.. wait.. justice will prevail.. if there is wrong no one will protect him… if there is right no one will be able to touch him..

Dear Amitji,
I’m very very happy for you and entire group of unforgettable. But I feel sad little bit because ever since you left USA I feel lonely. When you guys were here I felt like my family and friends were visiting us. Eventhough I never got chance to meet up with you all! ( I grew up in mumbai so I miss it even after so many years!!!!!)
I hope you read my comment about your NY concert I loved it. Sorry can’t write much too depress becuase God knows when you all will come back and will I ever be able to see you and let you know in person how much respect i have for you and I’m so proud of you, not only becuase you are great asset for us indians, but also because you are great human being. I lost my my Dad in 2003 after that you are the only person whom I look up too! I love to read your entries everyday. Please write long ones for us in winter THAT WILL KEEP US WARM HERE in NY!
I hope you will relax and have good time in London. That is my 2nd home because my in-laws are still there all 150 of them! Sadly I lost my moter in law last year just wnated to share with you. We put her ashes in river Thames, UK authority allowed us to do this. all we had to do, rent a little crewline and crew member helped us and they even put their hats down when we actual stopped to put her ashes in the river. THey have so much respect for our culture!
My best wishes to Abhishek for “DRONA” He is so down to earth and full of energy! I loved him in GURU! keep up the good work!!!!
GOOD Night and sweet dreams. Love you today and always!!!!!!!

Dear Amitji,
I am very regular at your blog or better to say that its become a habit now that after checking my mail in morning as first thing, I check your blog.
Always loved it still now a days not penning efforts to comment as I strongly believed that you are not reading comments of ours.
Still you have taken new initiative and I thought to give my luck another chance though possibility of failure is 99%
Anyhow…….my love for you and your esteemed family will never be less and i think thats the destiny of a “fan†that your idol wether knows u or not…love u or not…respond to u or not…but you have to keeping loving them without any precondition.
Lots of love and respect.
