And brilliant news !! Half my bags gone again ! And no its not British Airways this time. It is Air Canada !
Dear Vishnu, from Air Canada. You, with large body and smile. You, with great sense of hospitality and care. You, who saw us safely from the crowds at the airport into private waiting area. You, who guided us into the aircraft along with other Air Canada staff, peacefully and comfortably. You, who took autographs and photographs with us. You, who came into the aircraft after we were seated with the reassuring words “…and Sir, this time you will get all your bags..” and warmly shook my hand till it almost got dislocated. You Vishnu (wish you knew ! not my invention, but a quip from Ritesh !) must know, the bags are GONE !!
The Airlines must love me, or my bags !!
Coming back here to this wonderful land after almost 25 years !
The place looks so different. Developed infrastructure, beautiful roads.. such a marked change from when we were here last. Terrific !
And wonderful to be wi- fied to all of you again instantly and to receive all the emotional good wishes through blog. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. The strength of human prayer and good vibrations prevail. I am deeply humbled.
Tabloid medias’ questioned speculation wakes you up. I cannot figure where I am or on which time zone. I am only aware that I have passed out in the clothes that I travelled in. And jeans and hooded top are not the most comfortable bedtime attire. I rubbish their claims on named individuals in the fraternity who are behind the negative campaigning. Their colleague pushes through some more names on mobile. I rubbish that as well. At this rate they will run through the entire industry. Ha..! They emphasize ‘deadlines to be met’, I emphasize a show of consideration on our time-zone deadlines and our physical condition. They sympathize, but want to clear the air. I am having problems clearing my brain, journo ! I mock threaten to bring this up on the blog. They desist; say they are averse to see themselves in print. Irony !! Or fear ?? They want to speak for 2 minutes to ’sort this out’. I cannot because ‘people around me are asleep’. They sound forlorn and submit defensively. I honor that and as you can see, mention incident and not name.
God ! I am soooo gracious ! Nothing like some self praise early in the morning !! Ha..ha !!
Ok ! Enough of this. The butterflies are reappearing. I think I can see the venue from the Hotel. Heck ! Back to shaky legs and doubtful confidence. And what of the wardrobe. Because of baggage part delivery there is part compatibility in dress as well. Shirt from one, trouser from another and just one pair of shoe - the one I travelled in ! Please do not attend the press conference, now in an hour. This is worse than semi clad !!
The stage show costumes are gathering up in Puerto Rico and Barbados apparently and they assure us they will be on us by showtime. Ya right ! But in what condition. Oh ! Bother.
The Hotel window looks out into the sea. Closer to the shore, somewhat muddy water and further down bluish. Boats of various size idle. More the cargo carrier kind. The water seems still and calm. The odd rain cloud in the distance. Showers come and go. The venue is the Queens Park Cricket Stadium. Outdoor !!
I jet lag. Must gather myself and the others.

I feel so sorry for the trouble you are having with your baggage and the airlines. We have had similar or much worse experience all the time. I can see there’s too much going on for you. So don’t worry about this right now. Take care of what you must. I’ll just continue to wait but don’t want you to respond to me for now. Go for the show and as usual make it the biggest hit. I am sure there’s no negative campaigning for your show. It’s just the media creating it. That’s what is the outcome of having a 24 hr news channel. They have to create a sensation if there isn’t any.
So just do your “karm” and forget about the rest….
This is what I had written earlier -
Since you have never noticed me in your blog, I have finally decided to do some Gandhigiri. I will keep posting this same entry everyday till you see it.
The reason being that I had to ask you something.
I have been your avid fan ever since you came into movies. So when you were going to come to New York for your Book Signing Ceremony, I had flown in from Detroit to get it signed by you in person.
You might not remember, but when you were signing the book for me I had mentioned that I would want to name a STAR (up in the sky) after you.
I of course, did.
Since then I have been trying to personally give you the certificate for its registration.
I tried very hard too but since I had absolutely no bollywood connections, the only resort I took was to write to people to know if they could hand it over to you, instead.
Tried some newspapers, also tried to contact some people who had launched their movie sites. Finally Rohena Gera responded to me and I sent her the package to be passed on to you.
Then later on I heard that you were going to be there in New York for the Amitabh Bachchan Festival and I thought I might have an opportunity there. I contacted the organizers there but to no avail.
I flew into New York for the festival and was there for the dialog session. Since I was not sure I would be meeting you, I managed to hand it to Abhishek instead.
But there was a huge crowd and till today I have not been able to find out whether you actually received it or was it lost in the helter skelter that surrounded you.
My wish definitely was to personally hand it over to you and say that it was a “Star named after the Star of the Milleniumâ€. But not every wish is fulfilled.
So even if I am able to hear a word from you about it, it would certainly put my anxious mind to rest.
Hope you read this entry on the first day itself. I don’t want the server space to be taken up by my same blog entry everyday.
But we’ll see……

You are the greatest actor and you are a great human being. Our family think so highly of you that even our 4 year old son is always calling your name. Our son calls you “Anitabh Bacchan” and we tease him. When he sees Aishwarya Rai on TV, our son says that she is now “Bacchan’s”.

I’m in despair. These dumb journalists disturb your precious rest to try and get “clarification” on the latest vicious gossip, slurs, innuendo and malicious invention about just WHO has been generating the PREVIOUS round of vicious gossip, slurs etc etc etc (which probably came from said journalists in the first place).
Presumably this is all so they can run a story headlining you AND the other stars who never had anything whatsoever to do with the “negative campaigning`’ in their latest “Amitabh Bachchan denies” scoop.
Truly this could run forever - and I’m sure the press hope it will. Can’t you just put up a perpetual Do Not Disturb sign to all pointless enquiries for the rest of the tour? Or at least get the idiots re-routed to some other unfortunate individual who can filter the few questions that might be worthy of your response.
We need you fit and focused on what you do best - giving those butterflies a good workout and thrilling the many, many thousands of excited ticket holders who have been counting the hours until to your appearance ever since the Tour was announced. Lighting my candles again for you tonight (and counting the hours till London).

We pray that you get them again well in time and also pray that this doesn’t happen again. As I requested earlier, please arrange to post some of your show clips on your blog for your bloggers. Let me tell you a fact:
One guy comes to the Air line counter and says “Maam I have four Bags.I am going to Mumbai.I need one bag to go to Chennai,one to jaipur ,one to Delhi and one to be lost.”
The receptionist says “Sorry Sir, We can’t do that.You bags will go to Mumbai only.”
The man looks at her surprised and says”But last time you did it,how?”
Anyway its nice to see my Idol interact with us.

Chote muh bari baat, sir, but since airlines adore your baggage so much, why don’t you just fool them by keeping your night suit (full sympathies for having slept in jeans and all! :D), tooth brush and a fresh (matched) set in your carry on baggage? At least you’ll be able to sleep well! And won’t have to worry about what to wear to your inevitable press-conferences. Take care, hope that your baggage has been found!

Good luck with everything. Hopefully all that mayhem you describe will work out. This is only the second concert and at this rate you will give yourself an ulcer. Try to relax. You’ve done great once. You’ll keep doing it. I had a dream with you in it last night. Don’t worry, it is tellable. I will tell you later. I didn’t get a break here at work, and if my supervisor comes in now, I’ll be in trouble.

If our bags would go like urs one day we will be without any belongings.. perhaps international flights do all this i’ve had just two and have got back my stuff(but i am not amitabh bachchan!!) but to be on the safer side as i am leaving for Bangkok on tuesday i must keep some clothes in my hand baggage too!
i admire the way you are managing the time zones and jet lag..i wish i were not in India because here I have no chance to see you in person but those who saw you are soooo lucky…

I just read that Katrina Kaif had lost her baggage too and that was on her way to Australia. Do you know that when Asha Bhosle came for her live concert either in 2007 I understand she had lost her luggage too.

It is REALLY IRRITATING and DISGUSTING that the airlines have lost your bags again.(NO credit even if they have saved half).I dont know whether they take it as a casual matter.This is the height of IRRESPONSIBILITY.I am sure this is happening because these are AB’S bags.
Next time submit your bags under the name of somebody else(ask the perosn who is travlling with you to check your bags in) and you go just with your handbag.I am sure nothing will happen to your bags.
AND HATTS OFF to humour of Ritesh(deshmukh if I understood correctly) about the WISH U KNEW(VISHNU) thing. He is an awesome actor but I like hime more when he dresses us as a woman.(Apna sapna money money,he looks like a beautiful girl).

Let me tell you what happens as per my guesses…
Today, I met a very well known Hindi/South-Indian film celebrity in my building lift. I earlier heard that she stays in the same building but today I met her. The moment I saw her I was shocked/amazed that I forgot to press my floor lift button.
That only happens with airlines people when they saw bags showing Bachchan/Big B name pasted on bags. They must be shocked/amazed and that delays the process.
Some names/faces stops us.
Suggestion : Remove the name and check the new results. Possible ?

I love the voice quality of the people of West-Indies.
I remember one song of Michael Jakson album where he is dancing with the children in street area & young people and big drums were played. It was really a very good song though I do not remember it but the presentation of the song was too good. It was really an excellent concept.
A song with very simple dresses, very simple camerawork but the idea was brilliant. Salute to you Michael Jackson.

I saw the concert on utube—it was fabulous. No need to worry, kick them butterflies in the butt & tell those wobbly legs to straighten up. You’re perfect & don’t need to worry. As for the luggage, I think you should start booking it a seat next to you & seat belt it in for the tour !!!!!! if it’s out of sight, it’s gone !
What can you do, things go wrong but you all as professionals always pull it together, no matter what happens !Love to all–keep singing & dancing !

Looks like celebrities too have problems of this kind. I can totally understand your situation. Traveling almost scares me now. No matter what others think we can’t stop expressing our agony when we face such situations. I have terrible experience with United Airways and believe it or not I am petrified to travel in United Airline(I still have their free travel voucher) and have any flight through Dulles airport. Flight delays and lost baggages take away our mental peace.
