Fantastic, Mind blowing, unbelievable, fabulous and scarry (Yes for your safety from uncontrolled, over enthusiastic crowd). I was going to wait to write more but after this can’t wait.

This love, adulation and response from common man is “earned power”. U are a true deserver of this power and it must be respected and channlized. There has to be a well placed system to manage all your public apperence, media briefs and all other public activity (Except blogging-has to be by u and only u). The closest model comes to mind is of President of this country(USA)-their all the moves are very well planned. All the apprences and words are well coreographed and managed with the help of media savvy people. That is not to create any barrier but simply to create impact and manage properley. It’ll help u to reach more and manage your affair in orderly fashion. Again pl give us the priority over media.

WOW!!! What a turnout!! Spectacular!! Thank you for posting the pictures and video. For some reason, the video was a little uner 7 minutes long, yet the timer states that it should be 10:59. Still, I enjoyed it!

What is that glass near the escalators?? Seems like the escalator glass shattered. Was that because of the fan frenzy? Or was there a problem? Well, I hope you enjoyed yourself and I’m definintely envious of all those who were there to witness you in person.

Funny how just in my last post I was asking when the audio/video section will be available and today, here it is. :)

Stay healthy, stay strong, and may God bless you with all that you desire!

  35. ankit mittal says:

    Most Respected Sir,

It was one of the most fascinating evenings Indore has ever had. To wait for you in the auditorium for the press conference was indeed thrilling. It was such a difficult task to arrange for an invite, but every effort was worth muuuuuuuuuuuch more. To hear you and too see you in front of us was such an amazing experience.

Although the crowd in the auditorium behaved very strangely by not adhering to the security protocols, the moments were fantastic. I, seated in the second row (2nd from left in this picture # 11), wanted to ask you two questions, but couldn’t do the same as I wasn’t so aggressive in asking questions out of my turn.

I have always heard & read about your most suave, gracious, and courteous way of handling people, questions, and circumstances, this was my first chance to catch a glimpse of the ‘Perfection Personified’. The guests there asked so many strange/weird and too-personal questions, which only a GENTLEMAN as refined, well-bred, and cultured as your good self could answer with such a remarkable finesse ! Hat’s Off !

However, since I have now read on the blog that you’ve liked the welcome/reception in Indore, I’m thoroughly thrilled to be a part of the CARNIVAL called Bachchan-Madness.

Further, I would want to share my experience of enjoying the excitement, anxiety, and madness felt all the while I was seated right behind you on seat 2A, on-board the Jet Airways flight 9W 382 from Indore to Mumbai on Monday, June 23, 2008.

Meeting you was always one of my dreams, which did materialize on the very same day, when you had accepted my request to meet you for a moment, get your autograph, and get one snap clicked with you. Mr. Sudesh Sonwane, seated right next to me, helped me in getting the same done.

Sir, it was such an honour to sit all the while right behind you. I was trying to watch every movement of yours, hear every word you said (although very, very few during the whole one hour period), and above all else, feel your presence.

Although you may not remember, I will remember each and every nano-second I spent sitting on your right when you gave a fabulous personalised autograph, with the blue Mont Blanc, which you reelly liked, and consented for the most-memorable photograph !

Sir, again sharing a very personal thought on this world wide web, I was getting jitters in even trying to ask you if I could gift that blue pen to you, only as a token of remembrance. I thought you might feel that “this boy is trying to give me a pen, of which kind I can buy in thousands” ! And so, in order to not mess up the only chance I had to live my dream, I restrained from asking the Q.

All said and done, the autograph, photograph, and the moments I had adoring and listening you so closely are priceless. No amount of money can give the pleasure that living one’s dream can.

Sir, thank you once again and a zillion time more for giving me the opportunity to live my dream, KING SIZE.

May I wish you and your entire family, the choicest of happiness, health, fame, and fate forever.

    Adorably yours,

    ankit mittal

Posting videos here is a great idea! The Tamil megastar Vikram once said something of Rajni that paraphrased a bit can be applied with even greater force to you (and I have done so on many occasions before in different contexts):

One Sun, One Moon, One Amitabh Bachchan!

And I will also append here another favorite quote of mine from Emerson on Plato, which also can be applied to you in the context of the Indian (not just Hindi) film industry:

“He is the horizon beyond which we do not yet see”

An event called Amitabh Bachchan continues to enframe us.

    Dear Amitabhji…

Today is the first time i have read your blogs. You write very well. Would like to tell you about your popularity!! My daughter is 7 years old. KBC started the year she was born and i still remember her moving her head towards the TV when the program would commence!! Well .. her interest in you more than the show (obviously) was so intense, her reply to the question “Who is Amitabh?” would be “My husband” when she got the hang of relationships as she would see it when she was around 2.5 to 3 years or so!! So much so that she would not like the young Amitabh of Sholay but the old KBC Amitabh!!
(Well…sadly later her interest in Spiderman took the lead for some time!! )
But I must tell you, my Mom was an ardent fan of yours, I am a fan and my son is known as Abhishek ever since he got fascinated by Dhoom!! Well, Abhishek got him into the habit of wearing a t-shirt with a shirt over it and the buttons are not supposed to be put! And he even walks like Abhishek tho he is a little thing which does not look like the 4 year old he is!!
Just wanted to put across the message that kids nowadays are so impressed by the ppl they see around that they start following them blindly. Thankfully, my kids have got idols who would not get them into any wrong habits. Love you all for that.
Thats all Amitabhji. I am glad you startd this blog. At least i cud put across to you the little things that make our day. I hope you enjoy the same. We all love you a lot. Take care.

Thank you for the incredible footage and pictures. For the last couple of days it has bothered me that I didn’t find any videos or even pictures of your Indore visit and as if you had read my mind , you have satisfied my desire and curiosity. Unfortunately, I wasn’t even aware of you in the good old days, but this frenzy, mayhem, and even some destruction fits what I had read about. I’m so glad the security kept you from being harmed. Who took that video? Seeing that photo of you with the microphone now makes me curious about what you said on stage.

I still can’t believe that the night you signed my copy of “To Be Or Not To Be”, I was the only fan there, especially after seeing this. Well, New York is not India.

    Dear Sir,

I can imagine the crowd their enthusiasam and their eagerness to catch a glimpse of you, but i felt very bad and sad after watching the video of your indore visit. How come this was so unprofessionally managed / organised. I am sure you will have everything cross checked about your security arrangements before you attend such a huge public gathering. Public is after all public, they go mad once they see their star, but you should think of your safety and security before jumping out of the car, and i could not see any proper security arrangements in the video… I am no one to say but just given my opinion…… and look at the crowd gathered in the mall, what happens if part of the building collapse because people being overcrowded at one point of time in the mall… lets thank God for your safe exit from your indoor visit…… anything could have happened, i don think u need to take such big risks, putting yourself and your health in trouble, i am sure you must have felt a lot of dissapointment on the security arrangements and the way they organised your entry into the mall. At least public should have been kept clear out of your walking path so that you could easily walk and greet your fans………. Hope you look into these aspects before attending any huge gathering like this….. Take good care of yourself Sir.

    Dear Mr. Bachchan,
I have been following your blog regularly since Day 1, but have been a “lurker”, to use the term known in these circles, i.e. one who never leaves comments. However, the Indore video had quite an impact on me, forcing me to de-lurk. I had heard of the kind of mob frenzy that a celebrity can create, especially one of your stature. However seeing it captured on video has left me… bewildered. Not because I don’t understand the excitement or affection that the crowd has for you - I myself have been a die-hard fan since childhood (nearly breaking my father’s heart once when I imperiously informed him that “Amit Uncle” was cooler than he). What I found shocking was the amount of pushing and jostling that you were put through - is this the case at all public events, or was this one just.. forgive me… badly organized? In the interest of safety and security, I had assumed that these events would be organised in a way that separates you from the crowd. I was watching your face through it - you looked so serene in the midst of it all. Smiling at the people pushing at you… have you always been able to stay so calm, or is it years of practice? I suppose the energy and positive vibes from the crowd can be a wonderful feeling, but at the same time, being unable to move a step and having people literally throwing themselves on you has to be … well, all I can say is, hats off to you, sir!

For a test cricketer age no bar
    You have two innings.
Amazingly you made centuries in both the innings, and still not out.
I loved the movie.. RamGopalVerma is a genius. I liked
Both ABIASH performances were good too. I appreciate the faith you have on
    Ram gopal verma .
Wish many more hits to come.–jaya

  63. Raj says:

There are multiple things I didnt like about this video.
    1) No respect for civic sense and life.
Not enough preparation to ensure smooth traffic flow to PVR and utter disregard for safety norms inside a theatre. THE PLACE WAS DAMN OVER-OVER CROWDED. Broken escalator glass panes is evidence enough. PVR should be ashamed of such gross mismanagement.
    2) No respect for you as an elderly man (I am not worried about Amitabh the matinee idol as I am about an old man). Several people had to yank you to the final podium through the ocean of over crowded fanatics. All this for what .. promoting a movie? I dont think similar frenzy was there to promote your other good movies like say Anand or Abhimaan.
    3) Your entourage has no civic sense. Despite campaigning for “No Horn Day” in Mumbai, your entire fleet was honking away to glory, despite the fact that there was no room to drive. Some principles should be intact and honking is one of them, whether it is No Horn Day or not.

I am surprised all this is being counted as blessings from an adoring city. There is a fine line between Fans and Fanatics…I wish you can ensure that such proceedings go forward with complete decorum and zero chaos. You are aging and you need to be in more serene setup than this. For once say “to hell with modesty” and insist on propriety, orderliness, decorum and civic sense.

    Hi Mr Bachchan

Awesome Crowd! But for once i’m so worried of your safety. You effort to climb on the car and acknowledged the crowds are commedable. So glad to see that so many fans are forever supporting you and your family.

Btw yesterday on Mumbai Mirror Paper article “Speak Softly Please’ on Abhi and Aish are so unprofessional of the journalist. I hate to read such nonsense article.

Pray that You and your family members stay healthy forever and Please wish a speedy recovery to Aishwarya.

I am compelled to comment again. What to do, the pictures reek of a hazard likely to take place. Not blaming you for this. It is our culture of hero worship, you are just a vicitm. Please do not take these mad acts for compliments. I hope you are not revelling in happiness at these scenes as mark of you popularity. Tell me Mr Bachchan - Do you think this is allowable??
Please discourage this in the future. No movie/promotion is worth all this.
Some initiative should be taken by your fraternity in putting a cap on marketing and promotion. Especially in a place like India where mass hysteria for celebrities is common place, this needs to be moderated.

    dear sir,
looks like you are really busy. but , i believe it is a blessing. to get an opputunity to work and more importantly to do what you love is the rarest of blessings. but i do feel you are overworked. every one wants a piece fo the pie called amitabh bachan.

saw the video and the pics of your indore trip. WHAT A CROWD. all part of the great bachan magic.now, this just proves that you should visit the smaller metros more frequently. may be a trip to bhopal and jabalpur next. sir, the people in the sammler towns and metros have been waiting for decades to catch a glimplse of their all time fav movie actor and the wait continues.
it really helps that you are very tall, i wonder how many thousands of people went back with out actually getting to see you properly.
lucky are those who get to see you and meet you.

A real life hero you are!

Didnt know a small town like Indore has a mall… and people actually watch hindi movies. I thot they must be gung ho on bhojpuri ones.

I wuz really amazed when Branjelina were in Mumbai. Anjelina was roaming about in Churchgate station and was not even mobbed. Amazing. I cant imagine Ash or Kareena walking on Churchgate station.

By the way how come some people are able to “comment” on your Mo-Blog posts and in my case the “submit comment” option is just not there! Minor issue, but still an issue.

vinay, I pity about ur knowledge of india, indore is not a small town, its the main commercial city in Madhya Pradesh, having one of the largest hindi speaking population, so of-course watch bollywood movies and not bhojpuri.

Before commenting on anything , vinay you shud have ur facts correct. Know more about indore and then try to make a view.
